More than overnighting would be too much. The train runs through the night. What makes it so loud is that it's crossing a bridge adjacent to the camp. Good power, good Wi-Fi, good cable. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you are sensitive to noise, don't stay here. Between the trains (which do indeed shake your rig, if you're in one of the sites that back up to the river) and the semi's that idle near the motel, it's loud. However, if you can sleep through anything, it's not a bad place to spend the night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very expensive for what is basically a vacant lot under a railroad trestle. Did I mention the mosquitoes? Great honking hoards of bloodsuckers breeding like mad in the Milk River (hence the name "Edgewater"), a sluggish brown slough that meanders through the town of Malta. My legs were covered within ten seconds of exiting the vehicle. My wife kept them off while I made the hookups. The cable connection's threads were stripped, which made for much merriment. During the five seconds it took us to re-enter the motorhome, at least 20 made it inside, making life unpleasant at 2:00 a.m. when the two we didn't find earlier came a-calling. The evening's entertainment was made complete by the freight trains that came barreling across the trestle at all hours. Despite the other comment, our motorhome did indeed shake, and the noise was deafening. All in all, a most unpleasant stay, and we would not camp there again. On the plus side, the dinosaur museum in Malta, Montana, is tops. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great stop for a night or two. The sites are deep and back up to large Cottonwood trees. It is next door to a rest area and a city park and there is a walking trail along the river. There are 30 & 50 amp full hookups that are newer and are in good condition. Plenty of room for big rigs if you can back in. We did not see any rest rooms, you may have to be self contained. The park was clean and quiet, a few trains in the distance. The Wi-Fi worked well. Check in was fast and friendly and we were able to pick our site. We would stay here again without hesitation. This was a more-than-adequate RV stop-over park along Highway 2 in Malta, Montana. It was far enough away from the RxR tracks to not be kept awake by train noise. There were large shade trees, and the sites were grassy and level. Across the road was the city park and ball field. There was only one bathroom/shower, but it was spotless. We'd stay here again if passing through MT. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is not a campground. It is a city park that allows camping in any empty area you choose to use. There is no attendant. No hookups, but water faucets are located throughout the park. The local kids use the park as a playground and why not? It's a park. The night we were there, one of the local hoodlums was riding around the park on his motorcycle at 3:30 AM but took off when the sheriff's deputy arrived for one of his periodic security tours through the park. A sewage lift station in the park was undergoing repairs and the crew arrived at 7:00 AM and cranked up their contractor generator. The Milk River makes a horseshoe bend around the campground. We walked up on the levee to get a view and saw where about a dozen rusted automobiles had been pushed over the levee on the far side. Some guy was doing wheelies on his ATV down Main Street. Hey, this is the Wild West, right? To put this all in perspective, this camping experience was slightly better than Wal-Mart's parking lot and the price was only $3.00 more. If you decide to stay here, have a nice steak dinner at the Great Northern Restaurant. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a city park. It was adequate for a place to get off the highway for the night and get some sleep. And the price was right. Sites are not marked, so you have to look around for a place that suits you. There are about 4 places that a big rig would fit. Ours was the only RV there. There were several tenters. It was quiet when we were there, but there are playgrounds and ball fields, so it could get busy and noisy sometimes, but would probably be quiet at bedtime. Trafton Park is on US-2. Look for the rest area sign in Malta. Follow road to rest area. Trafton Park is behind the rest area. Stay to the right to avoid low hanging tree limbs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
