This is a lovely, wonderful park in a crappy little town. The water was closed due to algae, but the camping is wonderful. Showers are OK, clean enough, not the best. Very big campsites with lots of room. Birds, cardinals!, everywhere. One cardinal was pecking in our car mirror at himself, over and over. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is a Game & Parks managed recreation area on a 700 acre NRD lake with nice camping spots. Electric only in most spots and water spigots in selected areas. Dump station some distance from camping area. Not unlike other campgrounds in Nebraska on a lake (because of limited number of lakes in Nebraska) this campground gets a lot of use and pressure. This facility also gets heavy use typical of most campgrounds in Eastern Nebraska because of population. Quiet hours are not enforced, so after 10 PM it is sometimes noisy into the night. Notwithstanding this heavy usage it is well maintained. Unfortunately, it is crowded during weekends and peak times. Fishing is good, however there are times when the lake looks like a freeway with all the boats and the lake is almost too small for the large speedboats that roar around the lake. If you are in a small boat prepare to be rocked and during peak times prepare for boats being nearly side by side. The restroom/shower facilities are generally clean. A park vehicle permit is required to enter and camping site costs continue to increase annually - currently $14. All in all this is a nice area during non-peak, non-holiday times and during weekdays when it is not so crowded. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
