What a WRETCHED place to go! Their website doesn't really give you a clear idea of what to expect. We reserved 2 sites to spend Memorial Day Weekend with family. The $25 rate shown is $18 for the site $5 a day entry fee and $2.30 for the reservation. While it's true they have 50 amp sites, I think their are only 6 and only 3 of those are reserve-able. The sites are horribly out of level. We spent over an hour in the first site using every board we had and couldn't get level. After another 45 minutes in the other site using every board we had, we were close to level. As we found out later, apparently not close enough. Things should have settled down from here, right? Not likely. The power was very low (99 to 100 volts) at the post. It was completely off for a while Saturday afternoon. An attendant called someone who spoke very briefly we me about the low voltage. He was indifferent to my problem and left. The TRC surge/voltage protector won't engage at that low a voltage, so I couldn't get power to the coach. It was HOT both Saturday and Sunday. By Sunday all of us were fed up with the heat and power issues. The fridge was up to almost 50 degrees because we couldn't get level enough. The constant power issues finally broke the TRC surge/voltage protector and there was no way I would connect my coach to their extremely poor power. It's so sad that the state would subject so many RV's to low power. How much damage have they caused? We all left! SAVE YOUR A/C's and ELECTRONICS! STAY AWAY FROM INDIAN CAVE! We will never go here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Be aware that the State of NE requires a $20 per year camping sticker to stay at their parks, which can be bought on site. The road Hwy 67 from the south into the park is a gravel road for 8 miles. It was in good shape. The park is beautiful, with many hiking trails (fairly steep on the easiest of them). The cave area was closed due to flooding when we were there. Many miles of paved roads for biking or walking. Many spectacular overlooks of the MO River. We spent 3 nights there and would definitely go again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very nice state park campground. Although they don't have full hookups they do
have a convenient dump station just prior to entering the campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
