Problems and excuses galore. I registered 5 months in advance for three nights because of large motorcycle ride-in event that sells out entire Reno/Sparks Nevada at $51.00 per night. My credit card was charged immediately. We drove 500 miles to Reno event expecting adequate accommodations. Upon arrival they had only a space that was 10feet too short for my 36 ft. RV, or an unimproved site that included services but was not level. After setting, up we noticed lots of dog feces where full-timers in park had allowed animals to do their thing. Every other park in town was sold out by this time or we would have definitely moved. Our only option was to drive 500 miles back home missing the ride-in. We opted to stay under the circumstances. Due to animal stuff we removed our shoes before entering our RV. The park had a very nice space sitting vacant across the way and when asked why we couldn't stay there, we were told that a party was coming in two nights and because of expected party’s very large RV size she was NOT going to put them out on the street. The space sat vacant for two nights and when they arrived that Saturday, the 5th wheel was no larger than ours when I stepped it off and would have fit in our site just fine. That was the last straw. I will never be back to this park again and would not recommend this park to anyone, Good Sam Club or not. All we asked was we get what we bargained for and what we got was excuses and NOT what we bargained for. My wife and I were the looser and when expressing our disappointment, the manager felt we should be more flexible. Would you? We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has mostly full time occupants but is nice, clean, and neat. The area we were in was recently renovated with concrete pads and have some shade trees. Pads are short, close together, with no grass only gravel. Washer and dryers require tokens and were neat and clean. WI-FI worked great and was free. Access road is being paved and should be done in a few days. Not a great park, but OK. We would stay again as the price seems right for what you get and the managers are very nice. However, beware that they have a no refund policy so don't pay for more nights then you know you will be there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for a month and the management were the best we have ever come across. They followed up to see if we were settled in ok, and if you needed something all you had to do was ask. They are upgrading there sites, and it is a very clean park, We will stay there again when in the area. Would recommend this park to everybody. They also had washers and dryers that worked very well. Web site stated gravel sites, this is correct. All sites are either gravel or asphalt. Entrance road is in construction area and is in really poor shape, slow down and watch for pot holes. Managers are very nice and helpful, computer in office area is available for use as WiFi was down for repairs while we were there. Restrooms and showers have just been remodeled and are very nice. They were well maintained and cleaned daily. There is a daily pet charge of $1 per day per pet but no pet run or play area. We walked our dogs to entrance where there is a larger dirt area. It looks as if a large percentage of park quests are long term quests but management keeps the park clean and well maintained. There is no grass and a few tree's, I did not see any play area for children. For a short stay or for long term employment stays this would be a nice park, if you are looking for grass, shade trees, sitting out and bbq'ing I would not recommend this park. We stay here when we’re in the Reno area or passing through. It’s a very nice park and well maintained. While there we couldn’t believe how many people had dogs around us. One of our neighbors had 5 dogs in their coach!! Before we left we noticed that one of the rows of sites had a sign that said NO DOGS. Wish we had known before hand as it was very busy in the front row since the dog walking area was almost in front of our site. Dogs passing each other were constantly barking no matter if it was day or late at night. This park is not child friendly as there’s nothing for them to do. Water, power and sewer were very good and we had a very good signal for our cell phone, Air card (Verizon) and dome satellite. The Wi-Fi at the park worked very well too. The Casino is next to the park and we like the atmosphere there over the larger casinos where it’s so loud you just want to get out as quick as possible. We’re not big gamblers, but we do play video poker at the bar for about an hour and then grab something to eat in their cafe. There’s a Chevron Station at the base of the park that carries diesel and propane. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is without Good Sam discount, as they do not honor during the week of the "Hot August Nights" rally. This is where a lot of folks show: including cars from the 50's and 60's. As at most of these rallies, prices go up, including gas. Gas went up about $0.12 since we got here. The park is very nice, easy access and all pull-throughs. They do not even ask the length of your rig as the sites are all large concrete pads with room for your toad. Very clean, neat and well laid out, with grass at every site and a small table. The temperatures have been in the mid 90's, with isolated thunder showers, so the 50 amp was needed. The Verizon cell and air-card strength was very good. Can be windy: a motorhome neighbor lost it's awning. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very nice, clean, quiet, friendly campground. The one downside issue was the Wi-Fi service was slow if it worked at all. Literally on the California Nevada border, it is about 25 miles to the center of Reno. I would go back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great modern park. Can't think of one negative. Staff couldn't be nicer. Great grass between spots. Diesel was 2.59.9 when we were there. Much better than Cal. prices, propane 1.95. Casino is small and machines only, no tables. Wireless was free and worked great. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice quiet park next to a small but friendly casino, only about 100 machines. This is a really windy area, about 7 miles north of Reno. Good location on Hwy 395 to continue into northern California. Hosts were very nice and had propane on site and diesel. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is our 3rd visit to “The Best Little RV Park in Reno” Each time here we see the improvements continue. The sites are paved, level, clean and have excellent power, water and sewer connections. The Wi-Fi is strong and fast and the cable TV has 50+ channels. The on site fuel station has the best prices on diesel and propane in the area and the small casino has a convenience store and a good restaurant. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very enjoyable park. We had business to tend to in Reno and family to visit in the area, so this was very centrally located. The grounds were clean, the sites were level and well landscaped. The staff was very friendly and helpful also. The only downside was that the laundry and restrooms could have been better tended to. They were not really dirty, but the floors were not great looking. We are planning on returning in the fall for another stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Simply the best RV park I have stayed in for quite sometime. If you like a clean, level grassy site with a mountain view this is for you. I love this park and stayed a month longer than planned. The rules are great for those who have a new RV, keeps the rif raf out. This park is AAA+. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice for a night or two if you want to gamble in the casino. This is NOT a resort, it is an RV park but it is NOT by Cabelas as one reviewer stated. Cabelas is by the Boomtown KOA on I-80, this park is Bordertown which is on 395. Pretty quiet, nice grass and level spaces. Staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food at the casino is good, especially their famous sandwiches. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow, I thank the last reviewer, I could not have said it better! I think we would have been better off at the truck overflow lot, but it looks like that was sold to make room for a Cabelas. After the fact, I heard the Gold Ranch is better. But I'm not sure. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Way overpriced at $35, which inc. tax and a GS discount, supposedly. No "resort" to this at all, just a wide spot in the road. But it is a treat to see grass next to your site and to have LEVEL concrete pads. Wonderful cable tv access and free wifi although we did not use it. Good Verizon aircard and cell reception. Only one toilet per gender plus 4 unisex shower rooms with no ventilation nor electric outlets. Ok for a quick stop but nothing to do here and too expensive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very green, clean, and tidy RV park (don't know why they call it a resort) in arid surroundings. VERY friendly office staff. A gas station is conveniently located near the entrance of the park. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice, clean, quiet park. Sites are a bit small, as is maneuvering, but it's manageable. There's actually grass between each space, which is nice. You can ride your ATV right from the park onto local trails. The only negative is that when I was there, they had no sewer hookups, just a dump station. They did say they were going to be putting full hookups in, but couldn't say when. Overall, a very nice place I will likely stay at again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

It was so cold when we were here. Brrr...I'm still freezing. Great site, spectacular views, just remember to bring your heating element to hook up to the water. Although they are under construction, the park was a great stay over for our trip back to Arizona. Would recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice and new. I was concerned about traffic noise but that was not the case. I understand the food in the casino is quite good but didn't have a chance to try. We will stay here every time we visit the Reno area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice clean quiet park, great staff. No sewer hook-up. Dump station on site, and they have a honey bucket wagon you can use for free. Had free wi-fi the 9 days we were here. If they had a pool, would be perfect. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The only reason I rated this campground an 8 (instead of a 10) is due to the lack of sewer hookups, but they do have a dump area and a free to use roll around for dumping your rig. Staff indicated that there will be full hookups by next year. The staff is exceptionally friendly. We have business occasionally in Reno and have tried all the campgrounds in the area. This is, by far, the friendliest and quietest one we have found. Reno is a bit of a drive, but not a bad one. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed in this park once before for 2 weeks and this time for a month. The staff are very friendly. All sites are pull through and would be easy to maneuver with a big rig. We have a 34' Travel Trailer and were easily able to get into the sites. Rates are 25 a night with good sam and 448 per month. Sites are well maintained and park is very clean. No sewer hookup but there is a free dump and the park provides a portable tank so you won't have to move your RV. Cable and electricity are free. Wifi available for a fee. Wifi worked sporadically. We were in the back of the park and were told other RV's blocked the signal. With the exception of the Wifi and lack of sewer hookups this park would be a 10. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Ok for a one night stop over, not sure we would want to stay longer. Staff could be more friendly. The adjoining casino is smokey and not very inviting. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park! Cement spurs, paved roads, great water pressure and friendly staff. Nicely landscaped with grass and trees at each site. Stayed here a week for $125.00. Laundry room has 4 washers and 8 dryers, very clean with a folding table and hooks for your clothes hangers. This park is located about 17 miles north of down town Reno and was very quiet. Will stay again when traveling through the Reno area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Border Town Resort is a great little place to stay while in the Reno area. Next to a little casino with a good restaurant and store and gas station. A nice grassed area in each site with a patio and little cement table. Owners were very friendly. The only down side is there is no sewer hook at your site. There is a dumping station in the RV Park. Would definitly go back We camped here in a Motorhome.

Freeway access was good, check in went smoothly and all utilities worked well. This is not a real destination park, but it was a great spot to stop for the night. There is a free shuttle bus that runs to the casino and to Cabela's about every 15 minutes. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was adequate for a few nights in Reno. Our 40' motorhome just fit in the site, even though we paid extra for a deluxe site on the end. There is not much maintenance done here other than mowing the lawn. It's near a casino with shuttle service, but the casino is third rate (Boomtown). If we ever decide to stay in Reno again (which I doubt) we would probably stay here again because the choices for peace and quiet are very limited. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here before and will stay here again because of the convenient location. It is easy to find right off of I-80. The park is not the greatest. The sites are not level side to side even with them being paved and are not terribly long. We have a 33 foot 5th wheel and had to park our truck under the goose-neck to fit. Our site had a deep rut in the grass from people driving over it to get into the tight spot. For this price the Wi-Fi should be free but it is provided by a 3rd party at additional cost. The 30 amp power was not good enough to run our A/C along with anything else. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Awesome park, would've been a 10 if the pool was open and if the playground was up to KOA standards. They have wonderfull staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a nice park, although it looks a bit like a parking lot for now (until the trees grow up). It's in a good location. The sites were level and everything was in good working condition. We didn't use the Wi-Fi at $4.95 for 24 hours since we had our own internet connection via broadband. The others who state that there was only one bathroom/shower are incorrect. All you need to do is ask at the desk for a key to one of the private indoor stalls. They were spotless. The staff at this location was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Scenic and close to the casino with a shuttle available. Sites were very unlevel, but there was some shade that made it nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wow, we were unpleasantly surprised by this KOA. It was terrible. The bathrooms were unacceptable. There is one toilet/shower for the men and one for the women. ONE for 203 campsites! The men's room toilet was overflowing so my husband had to use the ladies room. Our site was very narrow and uneven for being a pull-thru on cement. We were told at the office if you want WiFi, you had to pay for it. We've been on the road for one month and this was the first time, especially at a KOA we had to pay for WiFi. This campground is way over-priced. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The good: We came here from a nearby camp that really did not meet our expectations (unlevel sites, permanent residents,…) and we booked for only a day, and ended up staying a week. Lots to see and do: from Lake Tahoe hikes and sailing, to a trip to Virginia City. We entertained a family at the Boomtown Casino that has restaurants and game rooms. Boomtown security and shuttles frequent the park. Cabelas is close by! The Bad: A single (unclean) restroom/shower for each sex in the building with outside showers was not what we are used to. Garbage collection folks were dangerously fast and left a trail of trash. The Ugly: Our site had a leak and there was constant water underneath the rig. The pet disposal was half full when I arrived and fuller when I left. At 90 degrees that can be a challenge. Internet service would time out before providing a password, but you get charged anyway Conclusion: We love the area, but the RV park was a mixed bag. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It's basically a big parking lot, but is nice enough. I will stay here again, but not if I can get space elsewhere. Management was a lot nicer before KOA came in and took over. In the past, you could stay 28 days at a time, but now KOA only charges nightly/weekly. The biggest attraction now is that they're right next to the new Cabellas. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

A basic RV park, nothing fancy here that I saw. VERY unlevel site in the pull through row I was in. I had to use BOTH sets of my lego blocks under my tires and I still wasn't 100% level. Not much they can do about this now, the place was poorly graded during construction. The staff was very friendly and thanked me for actually paying when I arrived late, seems some people try to sneak a free stay. I can't rate it higher due to the unlevel site, was very frustrating setting up all those blocks, as I travel alone. I would probably seek out someplace else next time I am in Reno. This campground can be summed up in one word . . . DUMP! The facility is in desperate need of maintenance and there are numerous potholes. The sites are not very level. It even took some blocks to level our small tent trailer! The restrooms/showers were filthy and there are only 2 toilets to serve 203 spaces! The adjacent Cabella's store is great, but you are much better off camping at Gold Ranch which is just up the road in Verdi. This KOA is VERY disappointing! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Nice clean, safe place to park for a short visit to the area. Narrow sites but long enough to park the toad when off the caddy. A new outdoor superstore is going in on the hill above the COG along with a large truck stop. But the slope of the hill is high enough so that it will not be seen from the COG. About 1/3 of the sites are 50 amp with strong Wi-F included. Anything left outside will be wet when they water over night. We were here over the same weekend as last year and noticed little change since KOA took over other than the higher rates. Next year we will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I agree with the other comments posted. The weather was HOT, the asphalt Hotter and the park's breakers kept going off. We cut our stay short; we will not return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is connected with the Boomtown Casino, but has recently been taken over by KOA. The park is mostly a parking lot with hook ups. Typically over priced KOA. The swimming pool water was very dirty and green! Hot tub looked OK. Wireless did work OK. No picnic tables at site. Tight sites. Our water faucet was leaking fairly good. I notified the front desk and they said "we'll work on that in the winter time". It's no wonder folks stay at Wal-Marts! I'm normally not a whiner or give low number, but this one deserves it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is now a KOA. Hope they fix it up a bit better. Will not be back to stay overnight again. Very over priced. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed there for one month, and the sites were so close you could almost touch the other guest. There is one man who lives there and each time someone comes in he runs out and thinks he needs to help you park. He even comes out at night in his pajamas after 9Pm. There is also a row of houses behind the park that looks like gang members live there, the music is loud and when the cops show up it gets very quiet. I wouldn't recommend this park to anybody,you would be better off staying in the casino parking lot across the street. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Brought a group of people to the Peppermill in 2 coaches. Stayed here and found it clean and orderly. I didn't expect a "destination" park so I was not disappointed. Location is very convenient to the Peppermill. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We live locally and had friends in town. They enjoy going to the casinos, we don't, so we parked our rig at this location for the weekend. They ended up calling in the evening to come stay at the house. Loud residents/vagrants roaming around, sirens -noise. Next time I will leave the rig docked in my back yard! This is a well kept parking lot. If you are looking for a place to park your RV and gamble at the Peppermill, this is the park for you. It had very little appeal for us. There was little shade, no tables or grass between sites. The cops were there settling a domestic dispute just after we checked in . The Wi-Fi only worked from the laundry room next to the office. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed at this RV park for three night. Found all sights to be clean and well kept. This park is small, but close to the PepperMill and Alantis Casino's. Bathrooms and showers are very clean. They also have a nice laundry room. The park is gated,with 24 hour camera surveillance. They have a pet area. Found the price to be fair, 35 to 45 dollars a night, but as any RV park, prices changes with seasons or events. They have 30 and 50 amp service. The on-site manger was very nice and helpful. This is our first time here but we will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Concrete! The Grand Sierra is a casino with an RV park. Getting there was interesting, yet not bad. The Casino and hotel is very nice. We did use the fitness center (which I would not recommend). The fitness center is very small and two of the machines I tried were broken. The pool is very nice. We did take a day trip to Virginia City. That is a great drive. Overall, very nice! I would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV park was clean, but nothing more than a concrete lot with a few small trees. My main beef with the park is the swimming pool, which was OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. When we arrived there was a wild party with a cover cost to get into the pool. That continued every night after 8pm and all day Sat and Sun, basically when I wanted to swim. The GS casino was so full of cigarette smoke that we could not stand to use the facility for eating or anything else. We did see a movie here however. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has no tv hookup. If you are ok with that then you have the first battle won. Next .... there are very few NICE spots for 30 amp hookup. This place caters to the 50 amp family :( When I spoke to the girl at the register she was VERY nice about everything , but she did say that the only 30 amp spaces were out in the "Desert Area". No trees , no grass , a few paved but the rest are gravel. The dog walk area is ok but there is no grass there either. It is fenced in dirt. It has 2 sections though, so if you want your dog alone that is possible. The park is located near the casino and the "AquaRange" which is kinda cool. Otherwise , we are out by highway 395 and a ways from town. OH , one more thing~~~~ the link on this page to the "View Map" for the location of this place.......IS WRONG ! I printed it to bring with us and after looking at it I decided to call the office. No where near what the map says. Do your own search for directions here. We would stay here again IF we could get one of the VERY FEW nice 30 amp spots. Note from Admin: Yes the map pin was wrong as no one had every set it to correct place. I fixed the problem, We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nothing more than an asphalt parking lot with hookups. I don't consider it full hookups when no cable is available. Sites were certainly wide enough to accommodate our small rig. We used a back-in site. There are no tables and a few lawn chairs thrown around the park. I tried to haul a few of the park lawn chairs to our site but they were too bulky and heavy for me to do so. I asked the park attendant to bring us a couple chairs but that never happened. Since the RV "Resort" is so sparse on amenities, don't come thinking you'll have nice outdoor bar-b-ques unless you like the "tail-gate" type of outdoor eating. Like I said, no tables so you'd have to sit on the dirty asphalt pavement. There is a wonderful pool at the adjoining hotel/casino, which was easy to walk to if you're in good shape. There is a sign posted on the pay phones saying you can call security for a ride to the casino. Since the weather was nice, we just walked each time, so I don't know how well this worked. I imagine you would get prompt pick up to take you to the casino, but may find yourself out of luck to get a courtesy shuttle away from the casino. the pool was very crowded with kids, as expected, since there isn't much else for kids to do in Reno. At 5:00pm each day the pool area started blasting loud music from the on-site bar attracting the bikini-clad singles group and scaring away the kids with the loud racket. The Cafe Sierra at the Grand Sierra Resort has excellent food, prices are affordable for families, and excellent waiters. The $6 kids meal was the best deal in Reno! The Fun Quest arcade area for kids is the usual rip off with token-driven machines. You save up a billion tickets and can trade them in for a cheap toy Made in China. There is a massive gated play area with tunnels and stuff for kids to crawl on but the $8 admission fee for a couple hours seemed a little steep to me so we didn't use it. The Hotel/Casino had some decent shops to walk around in and had a handy pizza place near the Fun Quest Arcade that the kids liked. This RV park served the purpose of having a place with hook ups, near a full casino, where the kids could be entertained and the spouses could trade off gambling while the other watches the kids. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are wide and long, but park is right under the flight path to the Reno airport and close to train yards. Pool area was crowded and noisy. Will stay in Sparks next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Good things about this park are the sites are wide and level, showers and bathrooms are clean and you do get to use the hotel amenities. Negative things are how you get to the RV park. We exited at Glendale which was where we were told to exit. The entrance to the hotel was very narrow so we had to go down to Greg, turn right, then right on Telegraph and right to the RV park: but you can't turn into the park from that direction. We went to the front of the hotel and were able to turn around and go back to the park. Had to go over numerous speed bumps. The park is not much to look at: all concrete and not much landscaping. WiFi didn't work well for me. Probably would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Love this place. Love the fact that I can use the hotel amenities (spa, pool, restaurants) as well as gamble on and off at my leisure. Sites are big, people are friendly, location convenient. My dog gives the riverbank path behind the facility two paws up. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Bathrooms were large, clean and heated. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pull through sites are very large, back in sites are kind of small. Security will come pick you up and take you to the casino as it is a little bit of a walk. Pets are permitted anywhere in the casino with exceptions of the obvious (restaurants, gambling, spa). Would have given it a 10 but didn't just because it has a "parking lot" type feel and has no trees for shade or grassy areas. We will stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an upscale place with level concrete pads and good satellite reception. However, the pads are not exceptionally far apart from each other. The location is in downtown Reno right next to the Grand Sierra Casino. I will stay here if I return to Reno. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really liked the campground at the Grand Sierra. The sites were huge--double a normal campground. It was very clean and security was regularly in there driving around giving you a safe feeling. We had access to the pool and work out room included which were really nice and clean. Also if you wanted to go to any of the clubs at night that was also included. The casino was very nice and they have a lot to do for children. We will be back to the Grand Sierra campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park charge a $5 per day fee for use of casino amenities and if you do not read the fine print you do not know about this. I complained and they removed it. Cost per day then became $27.00. We had a 30 amp back in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped in a pull through site with a 50amp service. Facility was clean. No frills in the park itself, but when you are next to a casino, who cares? The young lady at the registration desk was very friendly and helpful. We will surely camp again there if the opportunity presents itself. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We received a complimentary rate from the casino players club which was very much appreciated, the rate was $0. Our spot was very large and long with plants and small trees on either side. The park is close to the back of the hotel with easy access to the facility. One note: Beware of the high water pressure, it is 100+ psi. Even with our water reducing value or regulator attached we still came home to a flooded motorhome. We blew two regulators the first day so we ended up just using our own water. Same thing happened to another motorhome while we were there, so beware of the water pressure problem. We will probably stay here again since the price is right. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed two nights. The sites are little more than a parking stall. No tables. The bathrooms are nice, big showers, very clean. There is a store, but when we walked down at 6pm to get ice, it was closed. We called the hotel, and they sent a security van to take us to get ice! Now that is service! Just a little walk to the casino, shops and movies in their theatre. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here in a 40' 4 slide motor home using a military discount. We were in space 463 which is concrete with enough room for our tow vehicle. A lounge is furnished with the site. Small tree and shrubs divide the sites. Internet is extremely pricey so we didn't use their WI-FI. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Your opinion of this park will depend on the space you are assigned. Many are narrow and are asphalt with gravel (rather large lave rock gravel) or out and out dirt. No trees, shrubs or green. The remainder of the spots are asphalt and have ample room for both large rigs, toads and slides. We camped at space #464. It's an "end" and is adjacent to a nicely landscaped area, with shrubs, small trees and decorative rocks bordering the site. Small store with supplies and limited food. Major shopping within 2.5 miles. Of course, this is Nevada and the adjoining hotel has a large casino ready to let you spend your money with them. Must declare your pet and pay $5.00 per pet per day. Dog run is dirt. If you are charged a pet surplus, that money should be used to enhance pet areas. No cable! That was a surprise! It's not out of order, they just don't have cable. The park's internet is very expensive, about $5.00/hour or $16/day. Bring your own cell phone wi-fi card. Excellent connections for both your cell phone and wi-fi card. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here before when it was a KOA. I was a little disappointed with the site we were given this time (201). Although it is just a large parking lot with full hook-ups, the portion up front by the office is large enough to park you vehicle next to your 40 foot motorhome. They supply lounge chairs, trees although small and some grassy areas. At the site we were given you hardly had room for a 40 footer, barely any room for your towed, no chairs, no trees, no grass just gravel. It's a awful lot of money to pay for these few amenities. We won't be back at this particular RV park due to the price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent campground for a few nights. Big pull throughs and easy on and off access to the highway. Situated in the back of one of the nicest casinos in Reno. No shade and only small trees. Since the campground was only 1/4 full there was plenty of space for everyone. Full use of all hotel facilities - pool, spa, etc. Just 50 minutes to North Lake Tahoe. Would camp here again in our motorhome. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The Park is located right off of the parking lot for the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, so it is very similar to a parking lot itself except for the addition of some small grassy areas/trees in between some of the sites and two lawn chairs next to each site. Quick access to restaurants, entertainment, shopping, etc. due to proximity to Resort. There is not much space for young children to run around in, but our kids just ran through the large halls in the Resort. The restrooms were very clean and well-kept, and the showers were roomy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our poor rating is largely due to the extremely bad attitude we got from the check in clerk. Even though we had reservations but were given a site way back in the back lot in the dirt, the site was so narrow our door literally hit the next RV's sewer connection. When we complained we were told the 100+ open sites up front were all booked. I asked if we could have reserved a certain site number and were told no, first come first served which made no sense to me, I was standing there, had reservations, couldn't have reserved a certain site but the open sites were all reserved ?? We had to stay 3 nights because of other commitments, when we left many of the open up front sites remained unused. We will never stay here again, period! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rating is not for amenities we stayed here as a stop over. We pulled in after hours in our 42' motorhome. Two more 42 footers pulled in as we were setting up. All 3 of us just spent the night. Casino a few hundred yards away. Fairly level concrete sites, we had a 70' plus pull thru. Campground was sparsely populated all hook-ups were dated but satisfactory. Good for a night maybe 2. Would spend the night again if ever back this way. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was a great find. The sites were very large (big enough to park a truck next to an RV) and it was a short walk to the Grand Sierra Resort Hotel and Casino. Amenities include a driving range into a small lake, 3 different go-kart tracks, miniature golf, movie theater, a mini-mall and numerous nice restaurants. The park also runs along side the Truckee river with a paved walkway along the river. This campground also has a fenced in dog run that is split into two sides allowing more than one family to enter the run at once. We will DEFINITELY be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We almost didn’t stop here—but I’m certainly glad we did. Many of the on-lines reviews we had read were negative, but we took a chance because the park was close to where we wanted to be. What a delightful surprise it was! Located beside a resort and casino, the park is very clean. The sites are wide, and the pull-throughs are angled, which provides a sense of privacy. There are rock beds, native plants, and small trees separating the sites. There are full hookups at every site. We chose a back-in for our travel trailer, with an excellent view next to the Truckee River, and a long, paved walking/bike path that extends for miles along the river. The rest rooms and showers are spotless and cleaned several times a day. The personnel, especially Sheryl, were friendly and helpful. There is 24-hour mobile roving security throughout the park. The rates are low (the military rate is lower than the AAA rate). The park is surprisingly quiet, given the proximity of the airport. There are two fenced doggy areas, and plenty of places to walk. There is even a free shuttle service to and from the casino and restaurants. For golfers, there’s an “aqua golf” driving range next to the park. Unfortunately Wi-Fi is not available throughout the park, and when you can access it, it’s expensive. This used to be a KOA park, but when they pulled out, they took almost everything that wasn’t tied down, including the propane facilities and the picnic tables. Considering everything, the bottom line is, if you want a great place to stay in Reno, this is it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Completely overpriced for what amounts to a Wa-lMart with hookups! I agree with the other reviewers. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Just a spacious place to park. Restrooms clean but no park that charges this much should be lacking wifi and cable tv. The Nugget in Sparks has banned boondocking and we were left wanting for a spot. This is not our first choice, they charge too much for what you get. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had stayed here a couple of times before when it was a KOA. As poor as it was then, it is actually worse now! Keep on driving and just stay in the Sparks Nugget RV lot for free. The place was run down, very uniformed and non-caring staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As other comments state, it's getting more and more run down since KOA left. This was our first time staying there and will only stop again if I need a place with hookups at last minute. Pet owners need to pick up after their pets. Sites are not appealing. The billboards around Reno about an elegant RV park are very misleading. Hopefully the new owners will put some money into the RV park soon. The rates were way too high. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are leaving the park a day early and driving to another where there might be more to see and people to talk to. Since KOA moved away, this park has closed its terrific little store, reduced security and personnel, removed cable TV etc, but raised rates. Still clean but with nothing but the hotel/casino to draw, people are not here. Staff was a big plus here when we visited before. KOA took the staff with them and there is nobody here except a desk clerk who is not familiar with RVs. This could be a great park with active owners and activities. Still OK for a place to visit Reno area from. But just OK! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great staff, the park has already improved from our last visit, new managers, things are getting repaired that needed, Christmas lights are up, bathrooms are warm and clean. Great park close to everything! We camped here in a Motorhome.

What made this park most attractive was the staff. They did everything possible to make our stay pleasant. Well stocked store and great proximity to the Reno Hilton. I brought a group up to the Hotel and we stayed in the RV park. We will return often. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is getting a little run down since KOA took over management, not near as green and clean as it was when operated by the Hilton or Balley's and over twice the price. Still nicely located with wide and easily accessed spaces. Walking distance to the casino and restaurants. We have been staying at this park for 30 years. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park was well maintained and there were plenty of staff on hand to help with any issues or concerns. I felt the $53 per night rate very high for weekday rates and the $51 rate per night for weekend very high. We stayed there for seven nights for a convention. The rates were not high due to supply & demand as many campsites were empty, especially during mid week - they were at probably 40% capacity. I would not stay there again due to the high rates. It was over 1/2 of what the hotel rate was for the convention - not a very good savings when you tie in the cost of fuel! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is better described as a Parking Lot! Lots of spaces but less than half are paved. The remainder are gravel. The "riverside" spaces are either sloped badly requiring some creative leveling or the front of the RV sits in the service road. This KOA is clearly there to serve the Casino. No Cable TV and over the air TV is fuzzy at best. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

What a rip off! We stayed at this park because my sister was in the hotel. When I checked the rates on line, I was quoted $37 after a KOA card discount. I did not book ahead as there were sites available at all rates. At check in, the site cost was $47 with the KOA card for a FHU pull-thru. The clerk told me it was because it was "season". Before leaving the office, I confirmed that there was free wi-fi, and the clerk said no problem, just use your browser. Our site #225 was nearly the farthest from the office, and there was no wi-fi! The next day, when I went in to the office to turn in our keycards (for the bath house and pool), I mentioned that I could not get on line. The person at the desk said, "I know, there is no wi-fi sender out there." Seems like 'someone' who checked me in was too lazy to figure that one out. The casino is pretty far away, and you get no coupons or special deals for staying on the property. The campground itself is clean and airport noise isn't too bad. I rate this low because of the poor customer service. I will not stay here again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a large campground located next to the Hilton Hotel and Casino. It shares the Hilton pool and other facilities. It is a clean, and very well maintained campground. The only downside is its location near the Reno airport. There is a good amount of airport traffic noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 4 nights and this is a very nice RV Park. It's in a good part of town that feels very safe and secure. Some prior posts have complained about the paved lots: that's a bonus for me since we have stayed at dusty gravel parks on our trip. There is a bit of grass and a few trees. The restrooms and laundry are in great shape. One note about the bathrooms, there is a huge handicapped shower and this park would be ideal for someone in a wheelchair. The pool is small but not opened right now. I wish they had a petwalk in the front of the park, it's in the far back. Overall I would totally recommend this place. There is an awesome city park nearby which has the biggest dog park I have ever seen. If you have a social dog don't miss Rancho San Rafael city park just down VA street. This is one of the cleanest parks we have stayed in since we began RVing several years ago. The bathrooms are spacious and modern. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. We have recommended this park over and over again. The sites was more than adequate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is just a big blacktopped parking lot. There are a lot of full time residents in trailers. The pet area is tiny. The trees at the sites are mostly evergreens and don't provide any shade. I thought I reserved a site with cable tv and 50 amp service but when I arrived I was told I could have one or the other (there were no 50 amp sites available with cable tv). It was so hot, I wished I had opted for the 50 amp service so I could have run both air conditioners. I won't come back here again. For that matter, I probably won't visit Reno again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV park was very clean, bathrooms and showers were great. We camped in a pull through site with a 30amp service. The pull through site was about 6 inches short if we left our tow car on. We have a 35' RV. The lady at the registration desk was very friendly and helpful. We will surely camp again there if the opportunity presents itself. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The sites in this campground are very close together. It is very hard to get both the RV and vehicle, into the site. They advertise cable TV, but not all sites have cable and they failed to inform me of this when my site was assigned. After unhitching my RV and hooking up the sewer, electric and water I discovered my site didn't have cable. They did find a back-in site with cable connections that I could move to, however to add insult to injury they charged me $2.00/night extra for the cable. The wifi and cable signal were good. I wouldn't stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has a great feel to it. A previous poster stated that it is nothing more than a big parking lot, which made me realize that that phrase is used way too often in the reviews I have been reading. I would say this park is way more than just a parking lot. Yes, the entire park is paved/blacktopped, but there are plenty of trees and grass islands to give it a nice appearance. The sites are double-wide, meaning you have a ton of room curbside to set up tables, chairs, awning, park vehicles, etc. I was able to use the Wi-Fi with no problems at all, it was very fast. I did not see any motorhomes or trailers in the park that were in bad shape. I have stayed in this park multiple times and do not even think about staying anywhere else whenever I am in Reno. I especially like that the park is a 2-minute walk to the Bonanza Casino (site of the Cactus Creek Steakhouse, a MUST for steak lovers). We camped here in a Motorhome.

Shamrock was one of the nicest parks that we've visited. It had exceptionally clean grounds and restrooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was quiet and close proximity to center of town, yet pretty mountain view setting. Also, it was 5 minute walk to one casino. We would highly recommend it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A very clean park, but not much space between sites. They don't like truck campers but will grudgingly allow one if you promise not to unload it (they're afraid it will tip over). Park management is not very friendly either, at least the grumpy old woman I dealt with wasn't. The place is okay for a night or two, plus it's centrally-located so that's nice as well. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

We are renting monthly here. The staff works hard on the property and the park shows it. Very quiet yet still convenient to the highway. Minutes from downtown Reno. True there is not a large pet area, but there is an off leash dog park 2 minutes down the road. Bathrooms are clean, park is clean, the staff is very helpful. We weren't sure if we would stay here until we actually got here and also looked around at the other parks in town. We will stay here for 3 months. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice clean park for a brief stay. It's located in a warehousing district and is basically a paved parking lot. Sites are small with no grass or tables. There are a few small shaded common areas on grass with a single picnic table. The pool is small but clean and pleasant. The bathrooms were new and very clean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was clean. Close together sites but double wide. There is a phone jack available in the laundry room but I was told to use local or 800 number to my ISP. That does not sound like free internet access as listed on their web site. OK park for being in a metro area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Really nice clean park, large sites but mostly pavement, very little grass and what there is you are not allowed to walk your dog on. They did have a small enclosed pet area, but because it was very small and kind of like kitty litter inside it was quite odorous. My dog would not go anywhere near it. Easy access from freeways and only a 5 minute drive from downtown area. Would recommend park to most, but will probably not stay again myself because of my dog. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground is in a quiet area north of downtown Reno, easy access to Hwy 395. Very popular with monthly site renters, but all sites were kept clean & tidy. Most sites are pull throughs, double width, all paved and looked level (ours was level). Restrooms/showers were very large and spotless. Small trees and shrubs between sites, not large enough for shade but offered some visual privacy. Modem hookup in laundry room worked fine. We camped here for 3 nights, would come back again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground is not too bad, but the sites are pretty close together, but for being close to Reno is not too bad. Park is kept up nice, and pretty busy. We camped here in a camper.
