This is what we call: a do not return. I had site 97. They say that they are big rig friendly, and that is far from the truth. The roads are narrow and one way. They also have half of the sites set-up where you back in blind. The light post, fence and the narrow roads make it very hard to get a large unit into a site. They have 3 or 4 water spickets off of one line, behind the sites 12 to 20 PSI. You need to put up $60.00 CASH deposit for a cable box for each TV you want to watch and $2/day. My wife drove separate from me, do to work. So they hit me for $8/day for the extra car. Then told me I could not park it in my site even though it fit and was well off the narrow road. It had to be 75-80 yards from the site. DO NOT waste your time or money on this campground! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed at Beachcomber's many times and love it! They have 2 dog park's and usually we are alway's given our request of staying directly across from the park. I believe they have 2 large pools, although we only use the one by the lake, which is also a swimming lake and beach. You don't have to drive to the ocean beach since they already have one of their own. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice place. We were here for Halloween. They put on a nice weekend. My 2 boys loved it and my older son said he had a great time on the hay ride. Nice sites. The concrete pads were nice. Not bad to get in and out with a 34' rig. Already have plans to come back next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were very disappointed. Upon arriving noticed the staff was a tad "moody" and it didn't improve during our 2 week stay. Poison ivy was all over our site though we were told it was the most desirable site in the campground. The camp store was nothing but bare shelves and requesting change or pretty much any service was frowned upon. Few activities for the kids. The pool was okay. They seemed to cater to more seasonal residents. When we drove through the grounds to get to our site it never failed that kids and adults alike would yell for us to slow down even though we were doing the 5 mile per hour limit. Very disappointed in the lack of friendliness and customer service. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

I've checked out MANY if not most Cape May campgrounds and this one is by far, my favorite. It is true what the previous poster said about a lot of seasonals and I've been yelled at by a cranky old woman in a seasonal for going 5mph, but this is still a great campground for the following reasons. Normally, I don't like the seasonal type places but that's because usually the seasonals seem run down and more like a homeless shelter but this one has beautiful newer mobile homes for the seasonals that I guess you buy or rent there. So it's a big step up from the run-down "lake lurie" seasonal homeless shelter up the road a 1/2 mile. The second reason I like it is the FRIENDLY seasonal families we've met there. Decent people with kids and they use this place as their SUMMER homes NOT their only 'home' they own. Third, they DO have great summer activities for the kids -- the director is a seasonal mom that stays with her family here all summer. We went for "Christmas in July weekend" and the kids made Christmas decoration crafts, played games, went on a hay ride, got a present from SANTA himself! We couldn't ask for a better time! The seasonal activities, being run by a mom that lives there, seem to be way better and more involved than most campgrounds that have a park employee doing the minimal possible activities. Fourth, the entire campground is immacculate and most sites are wooded and fairly private -- maybe slightly small but the abundance of trees and privacy make up for the slightly tight squeeze on some lots. The sites are a lot more private and nicer than those at Holly Shores down the road and, as small as they are, they are still bigger than those at Holly Shores. Fifth, the bathrooms are the cleanest you'll find outside of Fort Wilderness. Okay, they are closed for cleaning sometimes at inconvenient hours, but at least they are cleaned several times a day. Sixth, this campground is just a couple miles to downtown Cape May and the beach. Not a bad ride at all unlike some campgrounds that are 15-plus miles from Cape May but still bill themselves as a "Cape May Campground" like Big Timber Lake. Seventh, the game room, ice cream/snack shop, and gift shop were all clean, fun, and reasonably priced and I found all the employees friendly. Ninth, even when it's full, the winding roads and open spaces never make it seem crowded. One downside to it was the pool seemed to smell and the water was a little 'slimy' -- the kids had fun, it seemed clean but something was wrong with the water when we were there I think. Maybe not enough chlorine? I don't know. Despite that, this is still the only place in Cape May that I will even CONSIDER camping at. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice Park. Very friendly staff. Requires a digital cable box, which they will supplied for a $10 deposit. We had Digital TV's, so we didn't need the box. Their cable system shut us down for a few hours when it detected no box - but it came back on. The showers were very clean, but they are Pay Showers. The sites are small and clean with cement pads and gravel, but still, very small. We would have no problem returning here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is nicely maintained. Roads and sites are gravel. Our site did require some leveling. Many, many trees but well trimmed to not be an issue. However, the roads and sites can be a little tight to maneuver. Sites have decent spacing. Park is mainly seasonals, but there is an area dedicated to transients. Wi-Fi is not free and was an issue during our stay. Park is close to Wildwoods and the boardwalk as well as other area attractions. Nice park, good value. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Yes, we give this park a 10. OK, I'll justify that rating. Park is immaculate and extremely well maintained. The roads are paved and are wide enough for big rigs to navigate easily. We opt for a "premium" site here and it comes with a concrete pad and full hookups. I know, a lot of campgrounds offer this, but these premiums are scattered throughout the park and not just in one section, which to us is nice. The bathrooms are excellent; clean with pay for showers with plenty of hot water. They also supply hair dryers which is a really nice amenity. The store is well stocked with excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. There are amenities/activities for kids of all ages even teens, as well as adults, and they are endless. I personally do not participate, but it's there for the taking. The pool area is fantastic and is kept open even after "season" ends. It's not covered as soon as the last person gets out on Labor Day. This park stands out in a region where the mantra seems to be "Pay up and Shut up", "If you don't like it then leave". The hosts of this park are right in there with their employees smiling and doing whatever they can to see that their guests are enjoying themselves. I have never seen hosts of a park work so hard to produce great times for people. Thank you! As far as negatives, I really don't have any. This was our second visit; our first being smack in the middle of high season, and we have encountered no problems at all. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I camped here with my family in August, and despite the heat, had a great stay. The activities kept the kids entertained. The potholes were bad, but if you are familiar with the area you can attribute it to the quality of the soil in the pine barrens. Our site was nice and shaded which made a huge difference. I would come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The other reviews are partially correct about this campground. The bathrooms were always clean, but they should explain that the showers are separate from the bathrooms. We had a nice quiet site. Security was a bit much. One lady told us very nastily, that we couldn't use our kayak or even take it off the car. Funny, we had used it the day before at the lake. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is for site 155: electric service was 20 amps for a RV site. I could not run my air conditioner and another appliance, voltage was as low as 105 volts. Water service: the handle was broken and water pressure was less than 20 pounds. I needed to fill my freshwater tank and used my house pump to take a shower. Site was dirty when we arrived. Piles of trash in the fire ring and on site. I contacted the office and they did clean it up. Sewer smells from staff pumping out holding tanks and dump station. Road drainage: water from road drained through our site. Location of dumpsters: need to drive through campground to dispose of trash. Dump station, fencing in the way of drive path, vehicle and camper in the road while dumping, grade is tilted away from dump station this will not allow the tanks to totally empty. The entry road is too narrow, especially by check-in. Golf carts: they enforce the 5MPH speed limit with cars, but not with the golf carts. Keep the golf carts on the golf course. Bathrooms: we only looked in and they were very filthy. The doors do not close, making the bathrooms full of bugs. We left a day early due to the sewer smell. Very high cost for a 20 Amp outlet and some low pressure water. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an exceptionally well run, organized campground. The sites are well spaced, paved, and fairly level. The personnel are friendly and knowledgeable. There are more seasonal sites than daily or weekly, and normally we would not stay at a campground with this mix; however, the daily sites are grouped separately from the seasonal's making for a pleasant stay. (It has been my experience that campgrounds with a high ratio of seasonal sites tend to be raucous and cliquish). Definitely a good pick. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was the nicest campgrounds I have been to in NJ so far. The people that worked there were very nice. They had a very nice store. A great lake and pool area. Big game room that needs to be up modernized. We will be returning this year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is our 5th year camping here. Will return next year. Owners continue to improve the park. Would have rated it a 10 but office staff needs improving. No one really knows what they are doing, they always seem to be confused. Appearance of campground is great, everything is clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.
