A virtual sea of RV's as far as you can see. Most sites are "dry". "Premium" sites with W&E are costly and need to be reserved very early. Staying here is the best way to see the Fiesta because you can beat the horrendous traffic by taking the shuttle to the launch field. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were here for the Balloon Fiesta. We stayed in a non electric dirt field. It was quite close to the Balloon field, and we enjoyed the location of the field. That is where the fun ends. Some people ran their generators all night and partied. No one every drove through these areas after quiet time to check it out or enforce the rules. Dog poop everywhere. These are all retired folk (most) our age and yet they don't seem at all aware of the mess or amount of noise they make! We didn't sleep one entire evening for more than 20 minutes at a time. Also, during the week everything closes at Balloon Fiesta after 12:30. While it's not a problem to drive into Albuquerque, you'd think with thousands as a captive audience with money in their pockets they would provide SOMETHING to do. New Mexico is really wasting a lot of potential here. It's too bad because I would never ever stay here again. I only gave it 2 stars because it is a wonderful spot to watch the balloons go overhead. Oh and no water or dump station. If you want that it's 25 dollars extra for EACH! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is dry camping in a large field about a mile from the balloon field. There is a shuttle that runs in the morning and evening to the balloon field from the campground. There are 2 ways to camp here: one is boondocking for $30 a night and the other is with 30 amp [+/-] and water for $65 a nite[premium] with a 3 day min on both. They reduced the number of premium sites this year to about 1/2 of what they had last year so we couldn't get a reservation in premium even in June; they were booked. They have port-a-potties scattered around and have pumping and water refills for $25 each service. They park you very close to your neighbor which can be a problem with generators running. Be aware that some sites are on gravel and some on dirt. The dirt turns to MUD with a little rain, and it's a mess. If the wind is right a lot of the balloons land in and around the campground which is quite entertaining. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here 2 nights. The first night exceeded my expectations. Then a new neighbor with a Class B was shoehorned between me and the prior neighbor. The new class B ran their generator almost constantly and I was always fighting having my gas alarm going off. The new neighbor was not sympathetic and only offered me things that I should do (he made no accommodations). The RV Park attendants were ineffective at best. They offered to let me move but not the new neighbor (in his small class B). I didn't have this problem until they put him right at edge of my awning. So much for my first experience with "Ralley Style" camping. Take that for what its worth. OTHERWISE, this location is convenient, via frequent shuttles, to the real reason we were there, balloons. There was much confusion among the staff what tickets they had and when they could be used. They had white tickets and creme colored tickets. Some staffers thought there was a difference, others didn't know. The first day, campground ran out of tickets, this caused me to get up at 4am to avoid "the long lines to buy tickets" the next day. I never saw long lines to buy tickets when I went back for the actual show at 6am. This is all to say, the staff was not very knowledgeable. They were nice (mostly) but they were not knowledgeable. The spots were mostly level, I needed no wood blocks at all, some places you would need them though. I lucked out and had water hose tap at my site. It was not a far walk from RV to balloon site, maybe a mile (but repeating earlier, shuttles were frequent enough) I feel like I rambled a bit, sorry. Bottom line, I would do this again and would stay in standard parking lot again. I now know I need to have something ... big pieces cardboard ... something ... to block an un yielding neighbors generator exhaust tube outlet whenever I go somewhere with "rally style" parking We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed, boon-docking, for the entire balloon Fiesta, all 9 days. We had no problems with the boon-docking, and this was our first experience. We left with fresh water still in that tank, and our black and gray tanks were not full. Our rate was with a rally and for the longer time period. The park is very convenient with bus service directly to the event. The best part is that the balloons fly directly overhead and some even land in the park. We were able to sit and watch the show from our site. We could also see the fireworks from our motorhome. That does not mean that you do not have to go to the park to totally experience the Fiesta, you do, but on some days we just stayed home and watched the show. We were also able to crew for some of the balloon teams and to help some of the balloons land in the park. I gave this an 8, only because we had no hook-ups. Yes, we will say here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a (Home) Trailer Park with an (Gravel) RV Park located quite a way from the office/clubhouse/bathrooms. The RV Park has a lot of spaces but they are close together. No picnic tables. The Clubhouse/Bathrooms are in the (Home) Trailer Park and are about 1/4 mile away from the RV section. I canceled my 3 month reservation! We camped here in a Truck Camper.

We have stayed in the official balloon RV lots for over 25 years and always enjoy the stay. It is primitive at best (we always select dry camping), but you're staying for the access to the balloons. It is run by one of the best volunteer corps in the world. They are always friendly and efficient given the chaos they have to work in. We always go in a group of 10 or more rigs on the second week-end and make sure we have bottle water to hand to the volunteers. Folks get their temper up and want to park in their favorite location, push and shove, but the volunteers keep things under control at all times. Want grass, 50 amp service, wi-fi, and cable TV, then look elsewhere. We will be back next year We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here for 4 nights during the Balloon Fiesta. Excellent water pressure. Solid 30-amp supply. A/C and water heater both usable but not concurrently. Expensive and some sites were very remote from the Balloon Fiests and so the school bus shuttle vital and excellent service provided. Good location for the Fiesta, very convenient and some areas within walking distance of the Balloon Park. Very well organized and helpful volunteers with a friendly atmosphere. Pleasantly surprised overall and enjoyed our stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
OK, $30 a day is a lot for dry camping any other time and place, but this is The Balloon Fiesta. It is the largest event of its kind. If you are in the dry camping area off Alameda most days the balloons fly RIGHT over your head! It does not get any better than this. No need to get up at some stupid hour, DRIVE, in ridiculous traffic, to the launch field, PAY to park, PAY to get on the field, then sit in crazy traffic again to get back to wherever you came from. Get up at 6:45, get dressed, make coffee, shortly after 7:00 the balloons start coming by. Sit in your own chair and watch or climb onto your roof for an even better view. Yes, the parking is tight but no worse than some private CGs I've been into. Yes, it is dusty. This is a DESERT climate! Along with the honey truck and water truck a truck comes by regularly spraying the lanes with water. I was on the front row so, in addition to all the CG traffic there was the highway traffic too. Big deal! We got used to it. This year was our second visit. We will be back. We will be back camping/parked in the dry camping section again, getting to know our neighbors and enjoying the atmosphere of the event. Sorry, the previous poster could not have been at the same Fiesta as me. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed here for the balloon fiesta. Found it to be a large gravel, unlevel, dusty parking lot with temporary hook ups for 20 amp electric and low pressure water. A typical govt run operation. According to their website you had to arrive before dark to park and buy a minimum of 3 nights with no reservations available after the fiesta started and no telephone access to find out if there were spaces available or not without driving there in person. We got there at 7:03 pm and were told that parking was closed at 7 pm. Had to sit in the registration line all night even though there was plenty of daylight remaining. Very expensive camping at $65 for very minimal services. No dump station a pump out was $20. Showers were $ in a portable trailer. Water tank refill was $20. Wi-Fi was +$. We did get free shuttle bus to the fiesta park. It was a noisy park with shuttle buses starting to run up each isle a 4:30 am. Also there were pump out trucks and water trucks running all day. Add to that a ice cream truck complete with loud music playing driving around and you have a dusty loud parking lot. Will not stay here next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Location, Location, Location. First time attending the Balloon Fiesta and my wife and I agree that we will definitely stay here again in the future. It's just so convenient. Shuttles running every 10-15 minutes ferry guests to and from the Fiesta grounds and it is within walking distance if you prefer to walk. The additional bonus is that the RV park is on the flight path of the balloons. Just this morning many of the balloons floated just above our RV and some even landed close by. That was really cool! The folks staying here are also very friendly and chatty. We stayed in a Premier site which included a 20 amp hookup and water delivered to your RV when you place a 'Water' card on your windscreen by fresh water trucks that pass around every hour or two. This place can be pricey though. We had to pay the 3 night minimum (at $65 per night for the premium site) even though we only stayed 2 nights. I think it costs $20 for the sewage truck to come by (we didn't use this service). This is basically a large parking lot and sites are really close to each other. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The price reflects PPA. Very nice, clean, spacious park. The roads are gravel as are the sites. This is by design. This is a historic park along Route 66, and they want to leave it as is. The check in was very easy and fast. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are trees in many of the sites. The pool is very clean. Very convenient to I-40. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a city park for mainly the balloon fiesta. It is flat, dry and they pack you in. We stayed in the so called VIP area and other than being close to the gate that's about it. Just a huge dirt and gravel parking lot. It served the purpose for the Balloon Fiesta and you should know it is basically a dry camp. They will fill you with water and offer a pumping service for a fee. Both about $20 each if you need it. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The $10 rate is because we were part of a group where many extras were included so the site rate is unknown. We were dry camping & if you have the equipment to be self supporting for more than a few days the Balloon Fiesta should not be missed. Very well organised. The honey trucks were on constant patrol during the day. The water truck was never far away. The shuttles were adequate & accommodating in dropping off, especially at night when it is very easy to get disoriented in a huge temporary town sitting on wheels. Dumpsters were many & emptied regularly. A clock could be set to the 2:30AM trash truck in our area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I pretty much concur with the previous review which is well detailed. I would like to add a couple comments. Each RV is parked by someone in a golf cart. Not all of the staff know how far apart the motorhomes should be parked. We were in the dry camping area and they had us so close to our neighbor that our A/C sucked in his exhaust and kept setting off our carbon monoxide detector. He was diesel and we are gas so his generator vent was pointed at our door and was maybe 6' away! I would say you need to pay close attention to how close they try to park you and give them a little guidance on that. The area is all dirt with no gravel, shade or grass because it is a temp campground. It is very convenient to the balloon fiesta and we watched them land outside the front windshield of our RV. We were able to get a reservation 2 weeks in advance. I don't think we will stay there again because it was just a little too much "roughing" it for us. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This RV parking area is only open for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta during the first three weeks of October. They offer three different areas of camping = Dry, or 20-amp & W, or 30-amp & W close to balloon launch sight. We camped in the 20-amp & W area. Rally style parking = 500 RVs side by side in different sections of the park. The have portable toilets and no showers. The park offers a septic service ($) that will drive to your RV to empty your tanks. Sites were semi-level with gravel or dirt. We were within walking distance of the Balloon launch sight, they also have free shuttle buses to and from. Electric power is provided by 24 hour large generators, if you're next to one they are noisy. If you are arriving with a group, you all must enter at the same time to be parked together. The greatest thing this RV park offers is being close (walk to) the launch sight, otherwise the driving and parking to get there is terrible. Make your reservation very early (refundable) as this sells out 9 months in advance. WiFi is available at local coffee shops within 2 miles of RV park. The Balloon Event was fantastic, 350 balloon launch on weekends, fireworks, morning and night glow balloons. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very clean park. Has nice wooden swings next to each site. Next to I-40 but the road noise is not bad. Well stocked store. Wi-Fi works very well. Convenient to most of the fun stuff in ABQ. Good view of the Sandia Mtns from our site. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Okay park. Check-in was quick, staff was friendly and helpful. Sites are close together.and a little short for our 40 foot motor home with Jeep attached. Quite expensive for what you get. Would probably stay elsewhere next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great central location to use as a base for the area. Best bathrooms we're seen in quite a while. Sites large, well-spaced and the park was kept clean. There is some freeway noise, but not enough to be heard inside the motorhome. One of the better KOA's that we've stayed at. Cable worked fine. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The interior roads are all asphalt that are easy to maneuver on. Our spot was a flat, level, pull through, asphalt, pad that was approximately 70 feet long. There was a picnic table and gravel on each side of the pad. The park is in the process of installing cable TV. With an antenna there are 13 TV channels available. The internet is Tengo. There are two antennas in the park and I kept getting disconnected and had to repeatedly log on. The staff is very knowledgeable about local attractions. Camp K-9 is well maintained and covered with wood chips for the dogs to run on. There is an all you can eat pancake breakfast served Saturday and Sunday in the Recreation room for $3.00 a person. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. When my portable tire pump for my trailer tires malfunctioned, the staff brought over a pump from their shop so I could air up my trailer tire. This is a great RV park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
It was clean and quiet. The staff was great. It was a typical KOA experience. Our Wi-Fi worked great. We bought propane and used their free air. They had a BBQ on Saturday night and a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I stayed here for 4 days. Campground elevation is 5,273 feet. Maneuvering my 40 footer towing a dinghy in the park was no problem. Roads and sites are asphalt and patio was pea gravel. Site spacing is good. Pull through sites hold a 40 foot motorhome and tow. My site 55 offered 30/50 amp service and full hookups. Wi-Fi was included in daily rate. They have no cable TV. I was able to receive AT&T Wireless G3 Internet and cellular service. I received Dish Network 110/119 satellite TV from dish on roof of the motorhome. Campground is pet friendly. Wal-Mart and major grocery are 2 miles away. Laundry was OK but expensive. Two dollars for a wash is high. I am unable to comment on other amenities due to not using them. There is some I-40 road noise. Sewer hookup is at the rear of the site and unless you have 30' of sewer hose, you must unhook your tow and park it in front of your motorhome. A dog in the permanent home next to the laundry barked a lot and woke me up during my afternoon naps. Overall, it is a pretty decent campground for a KOA owned facility. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice staff. Our cabin was not ready when we arrived so they gave us a larger cabin no extra fee. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and enjoy our stay. The grounds are very well kept and the pool and spa were very clean. The restrooms were spotless. The area around the campground was not the best but the campground is fenced in. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.
This park is in the city - not a country setting at all. But it is tucked away from the main road, with paved sites, trees, and bushes all around. Our site had a lovely wooden bench swing and a fire stove for cool evenings. The pool and hot tub were refreshing. Our kids enjoyed playing mini-golf at no extra charge (although the owner mentioned they may start charging $2/round after upgrades are completed). The park has a wonderful view of the Sandia Mountains - again, making you feel as though you are not in the city. The showers/restrooms are clean. The owners are friendly and outgoing, even catching us to chat on our way out at 7 in the morning. They seem very enthusiastic about owning an RV park, good at maintaining it, and looking for ways to improve it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean park. Brand new picnic tables. Office staff was friendly and a good source of local info. Close to public transportation. Very convenient to local attractions. The park is located along side of I-40, so there is noise from highway traffic. The noise was not a problem from our site near the office. Wi-Fi worked great while we were there. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed overnight while traveling. Sight was reasonably level - all sites are paved with gravel between. Our site was 30amp - we asked for 50 but without sewer. We discovered our site had 30 amps when we went to plug in. They did not have 50 amp without sewer. Not a deal breaker, but she should have told us that when we were registering. Washrooms and showers were clean and adequate - no issue. There is road noise from the highway. They have some amenities - laundry, hot tub, mini golf, but it is basically a parking lot with services. More than adequate for an overnight stay, but not recommended for longer stays. We would stay here again. Price reflects discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Good RV Park with friendly staff. Has good pull-throughs, although a little tight in areas. Close to town and shopping, although some sites are near the interstate and can be noisy. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We've been staying here a few years now, and since the new manager took over 1.5 years ago we have seen many improvements. We prefer this campground because it is in the city, so convenient to everything in Albuquerque (also, the bus routes nearby make it even more convenient--for example, you can take the bus to the RailRunner to ride to Santa Fe). There are improvements each time we stay, but the one that we were most impressed by was that we were treated well because we were return customers. It is nice to feel appreciated. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We arrived 8PM during the weekend of the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Although KOA prices are normally reasonable we considered the rate we paid for a lot without sewer services rather high, This was the last site avail, and it was getting late, so our choices were rather limited. Campground was fine, staff were proficient (although very busy). Overall was good, except for the price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Re-sited us onto a bigger space to accommodate our long rig with an easy pull-thru. We were on one of the better sites, but some were very near to the Freeway (very noisy) and some were very cramped. The Campground itself is old and could do with some updating, especially the restrooms and showers. Overall in a good location and we enjoyed our stay. We camped here for 3 nights in our 38ft 5th wheel trailer and couldn't book a further night due to the Balloon Fiesta. Would use again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here six nights. It is a nice park but not the best KOA we have ever been to. As with all KOAs they charge you for everything extra you want. They help guide you to your site and are very friendly. We stayed here during the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and had a great time. It is well located for that. We did not have the best site but it was good none the less. We would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We came here for the Albuquerque State Fair, but we got much more than we expected. It is close to all that you need. Shopping, groceries, attractions etc. Although this is an older campground, it is maintained well. The site accommodated our large rig (37foot) and there was ample room to park our tow vehicle as well. The bathrooms, high on my list of things to check, were old but spotlessly clean. No hesitation in using them. A free daily newspaper was offered. The dog play area was much appreciated by our pet too, and she loved the free dog treat they gave us at check in. Wi-Fi was great for checking our email and surfing the internet. The tourist package we were given gave us pamphlets of places to see, and also coupons were given for free goodies at various eateries. The staff were keen to make sure our 3 day stay was all we could want. We will stay here again for sure. In my opinion, it is the perfect family campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Probably the best choice for RV parks in ABQ but it was the most expensive park we have ever stayed at. Convenient to shopping, etc., but not much info given to us upon check in. We had to find out things on our own. Lots of staff working to keep park clean and the sites are good sized. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly group. The older fellow that guides you into your space at night is a wealth of information. He can help you locate anything nearby, in or out of town. Wi-Fi was a pretty good connection - obviously not Tengo Internet yet like many KOAs. If you love petrified wood? This place has a great collection to see. The putt putt golf course could use some work but they are fixing things up some and adding new features to this KOA. We were here during "monsoon season" for NM. It rained and thundered all night - LOVED IT!! Took videos and posted them on Facebook. Good times. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a really well kept KOA and we found everything really clean. I booked this KOA (and skipped others that cost less) because of the mini-golf. The kids really like mini-golf but we were told at check-in (about 7:45pm) that it was closed...well before other areas of the park such as the pool, spa, and store that close at 9:00pm. The freeway is close, but we could not hear it from our site. TV reception was via antenna only, but many channels available out of Albuquerque. Staff was friendly but somewhat short. Several guest-workers keep the showers and bathrooms spotless. Overall a good park but somewhat pricey esp if things like mini-golf are not going to be open for guests. Wi-Fi fair with speeds of 500k down and 100k up. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Would have rated higher but the site we had was back by the freeway and across from the dumpsters with 6AM pickup. All else was very nice with very helpful and pleasant staff. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Second time here. Price is right for the amenities. Site is cleaner than the first time we were here. Has a very friendly and helpful staff. Has a peaceful feel to it, even though next to I-40. This is the place for me everytime passing through Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The manager has done a lot of improvements since we were last here; more plants, upgrades to 50 amp, more "breakers" for less power outages, and more activities. Also, the addition of 2 lodges for those not in an RV. The rate was based on a monthly rate (615 w/tax) and 4 regular days (49/day w/tax). We are not sure the daily price for a "premium" site. There are still issues with the wi-fi (first, you need a code, so if you check in after hours you are out of luck; second, the signal is pretty low--we could not connect inside our RV). We were here 34 days and enjoy the convenient location when in Albuquerque. My wife took the Green Line bus (a block away) to the train station and rode the Rail Runner to Santa Fe for the day ($5 round trip total!!! train and bus). We camped here in a Motorhome.
The highlight of this park was the fenced lawn area for off leash dog play as well as two other fenced dirt areas for dogs to do their business. Overall the park was mediocre at best with a lot of long term residents with cluttered spaces and a couple of dozen spaces used as long term RV storage Access from I-40 was fairly easy. I would recommend this park for a quick stop over but certainly not as a destination park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We felt the Park was only so so. It was way over priced for the area and the season. Noise from I-40. It has a meeting room that was small and the kitchen was inadequate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Since we are from Albuquerque, we stayed here 7 months (the price was a monthly rate--our last 3 nights cost $130). The only reason we chose this campground is for the convenience (it is the only RV park actually "in town." The manager is very helpful and friendly, as are most of the work-campers. However, there was one couple who were very rude--I heard many, many complaints about them from guests and other help. For some reason, though, they are kept working there and rumor is they will return. When behind the counter this person's answer to any question is "NO" and not nicely either. When I said that I could go to another park I was told to go ahead because there were 15 other RVs waiting for my spot--the place was almost empty, so I'm not sure why they were waiting for MY spot. They have let the park get old and run down, but they keep it up just enough to be functional (corporate KOA). Right before we left they raised the price on dryers from $1 to $1.50 with no increase in time. At 1.50 for washer and 1.50 for dryer, this is not the most expensive we have seen, but it seems expensive for such old machines that are not the best. We will stay here again (again, because of the convenience). Also, do not leave loose stuff outside or it might disappear--we even had another camper take our outdoor rug during a windstorm (sure, it probably blew off our lot--but most campers turn things in rather than keeping them). We also had someone begging for money at 10 pm one night and while we were there motorcycles and bicycles were stolen from other sites. Again, if you can talk to the manager, he will work with you and provide great service. But you have to ask for decent service, it is not automatic (especially if that one couple is there--they would keep us from returning). We camped here in a Motorhome.
Conveniently located to local site-seeing, this place is overpriced at $37 -- then add $10 extra for full sewage hookup! At 5 pm, everything is closed & locked up, except the bathrooms/laundry and you will have to check yourself in. Wi-Fi doesn't work well. No cable TV. Right beside noisy freeway. OK for overnight. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We arrived at 7:35 in the evening after the office had closed and used their convenient self registration system. We were able to choose the site we stayed in the previous year so set up was fast and easy; including the satellite dish. Close to the city amenities for resupplying the trailer with much needed food, and a pleasant visit to Olde Town. We were hit with a cold front on Wednesday, half a day earlier than expected, and stayed an extra day instead of trying to fight the snow and wind on the I-40. The staff were very friendly, the showers hot and clean. We will definitely stay here again if and when we return to Albuquerque. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We selected this KOA to be close to family instead of the higher rated Bernalillo KOA. We were only able to get a water and electric site due to arriving during the New Mexico State Fair week but the site we were assigned was great. It was just a little too short but each site was paved with gravel beds between, with each site having its own table and grill. Nice shrubs and trees between sites. Service was great. Price was great. Power was good. The main laundry room at the main office had no tables for folding or rolling baskets for transferring clothes between washers and dryers. Wi-Fi was good and antenna TV reception was good. There are two enclosed dog runs: one in the back which is just dirt and one in the front which is grass and shaded. Our dogs loved meeting other dogs. Only two things we didn't like about this KOA: it's not well marked till you are one block away. We almost felt like we made the wrong turn. The other problem was the highway noise. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I read the reviews for this park and was quite surprised to find it as nice at it is. It is one of the better KOA's. I would definitely stay here again. I would have given it a 10 but the lack of cable TV made me downgrade it. We camped here in a Motorhome.
WOW! $54.00 for a night in the heat of summer!! We told them we were handicapped and we got the farthest spot possible from the restrooms. There were lots of spots near it and with shade trees, but we were out in the wide open sun! Those closer and shadier spots were never occupied while we were there! And for the second time this summer we found no toilet paper in the men's bathroom both days we were there. The lady had just cleaned the bathroom and it still had no paper! And there is only one toilet each for men and women and two showers that are family style. Be ready to line up if you stay here!!!! And no cable TV either. There are a few stations on the antennae but for $54 you would think you would get a lot more. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here because it was close to our relative's house. It seems more like a transient campground, than one where people stayed for long visits. It was never full. The sites were small, but clean with a concrete pad. The restrooms were clean, and the pool and hot tub were nice. There was a fenced dog area, no grass anywhere. While we would stay here again if we had to, we would prefer to stay on the west side of town where you get a better view of the mountains and closer proximity to Old Town and Acoma pueblo. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here back in 2005 and found the park to be much nicer then, though very pricey. This time in June of '09 we needed to be on the east side of Albuquerque to get some work done at a nearby shop is only reason we stayed here for two nights. Though staff is trying they seemed stressed. Park has many run down campers with junk around. I said $42 on rate, but it could have been more, whatever the rate it was way too high for the lack of everything. Took our little chihuahua out once to walk and found too much poop not picked up so would not take her out away from just beside our coach. I was sadly disappointed to see what could be a good placed to stay be sad. Will not return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were very disappointed in this KOA. It was very noisy due to interstate traffic, making sleeping difficult unless the A/C is running. The sewer connections at the site were not close enough to use so we used the dump station when leaving. The directions to get to the park are OK, but there is no sign to indicate where to turn when coming from the interstate. The price is very high for what is provided. It did have the best dog run area we have seen, which was actually big enough for a dog to run around. We camped here in a Motorhome.
In a month long RV trip, this was the most expensive campground that we found. The wi fi was not strong, but ok. We felt for the price we should have had cable TV, but were told that it was an old park so there was no cable. Hmmm, if it was old, I guess it had wi fi and 50 amp hook ups in the old days. I don't think so. Very southwestern--no grass, no trees. Staff was very responsive when we had a "doggy deposit" left on our site when we arrived. We don't plan to stay at this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Managers at this park were friendly and had a sense of humor. In fact, theirs was probably the most effusive welcome we have ever had at an RV park. The only thing they could have done to make us feel more welcome would have been to have maidens strewing flower petals before us as we were escorted to our site. When we pulled into our site the gentleman who led us there noticed that some of the branches from our shade tree was brushing the top of our motorhome, so he went to get a trimmer and trimmed them. We had not even noticed the problem. When we had a problem with water pressure they immediately sent a fellow out to look and he checked and it; turns out it was our water regulator attachment, which he cleaned for us. They have smoke stack stoves and BBQs at each site, as well as a picnic table. Sites were asphalt but not too level. The pull in sites had adequate parking space next to rig. There was no cable TV, but some local channels were available through the antenna. Wonderful shade trees. The Tengo provided Wi-Fi was sluggish but otherwise fairly dependable. It was annoying, however, to have go through the sign up procedure every time you log off. The park was peaceful and quiet, but as others have noted difficult to find because of very poor signage. Coming from I-40, there was no sign at turn off street, Skyline, when coming from freeway. Skyline is a small street, not a major intersection. Use your GPS. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have been here for one month, the rate is based on the monthly rate. We like being in town, and this is the only campground in Albuquerque that is actually in town. We've had some issues since arriving with things like asking for a site where we can get our satellite TV and being given one of the few sites with a tree blocking the view of the sky and asking if the Wi-Fi is good, and being told it is new and works well. However, the antenna for the Wi-Fi are low, so the other RVs block the signal quite effectively. We could not even get a strong enough signal to connect until we moved closer to the source. My feeling is that they will promise you anything you ask for, but then just put you on any site. We were not allowed to shift sites because all of the other people had reservations. Of course, we also had a reservation, but for some reason did not get what we were promised; a central location in the park, satellite TV, and Wi-Fi. The major problem is that only one person, the manager, can handle issues. No other employee is allowed to address problems and he was not here when I had the issue. The restrooms are a bit worn and old as well. We finally got a site that met our needs after speaking to this manager. Except for one lady in the office, the help was friendly, but they politely kept saying that we were out of luck because everyone else had a reservation. They completely disregarding the fact that our reservation was made months ahead of time and we were promised specific things. Once we got the Wi-Fi signal, it kept dropping me offline. The manager was quite responsive to our complaints (site issues and wi-fi), but he cannot be in the office all the time, and nobody else is allowed to be responsive. We will stay here a few more months (have not found a better alternative), so will see how things go the rest of our time here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for four nights during the Rally 2009 in a pull through. Although the campground was full we did not feel cramped and it was very quiet. Managers were very helpful and provided a "donations only" pancake breakfast. Very convenient to Albuquerque sights. Only complaint is lack of cable TV. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is ok, it is mostly gravel with blacktop roadways. Sites are fairly level and pull thrus available. Upon trying the electric, my tester showed an open ground, after notifying the office, a KOA person came out very quickly to remedy the problem. The campground is close to Rt.40, a plus, and to many downtown sights. My only beef is the lack of signs helping you to find the c.g. exiting off of Rt. 40 exit 166 heading east. You only see the KOA sign pointing to the c.g. after you have turned off of Juan Tabo road, onto Skyline rd. GPS helps here. For a large c.g. the restrooms are small, with two shower stalls and a single toilet each for the men and women at three locations in the park. The laundry is clean and machines look maintained. The staff was friendly at check in and helpful for info on the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This KOA is a busy place, and all gravel pads, but well kept up and very friendly hosts. We were led to our site and everyone in the office was very polite and helpful. The showers were kept clean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
One of the best KOAs we have stayed at when considering location and amenities. Great playground for kids. Easy to maneuver around the campground. Like most KOAs sites are pretty narrow but flat and long. I'd stay here again if in ABQ but would consider the American RV Park as well. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This place was nicer than we had heard from other campers. The freeway noise wasn't all that bad. Clean, and easy to negotiate the roads around the park. There was a friendly staff. We spent a lot of time touring Albuquerqueand did not spend that much time in the park itself. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed overnight here. The park was clean and easily accessible for us. We noticed some traffic noise, but overall we had a good experience here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This rate was for 5 nights over a weekend with the KOA card discount. It is quite expensive for what you get. It is close to town and has some highway noise from I-40. It has paved roads and sites with gravel and trees. The sites are mostly level although a bit narrow, as is the case with many older parks. There is no cable TV so pick a site where the trees will not intefere with a satellite dish. It has Tengointernet which on my wifi always gives trouble. We would stay here again in spring time because the other parks are out on the west mesa with dirt roads. That is a dust problem when the wind blows, or parks are in towns which are further north. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate is for 4 people with KOA card. When we arrived we were disappointed and almost decided to leave and try the Bernalillo KOA. The surrounding area is low income urban and industrial. The park is a big, wind swept parking lot that didn't seem well maintained. We decided to give it a shot anyway. The park didn't seem to have the usual KOA amenities and we were shocked to see they had received the 2006 President's Award? The bathrooms were clean but outdated basic facilities. There were a few banana bikes locked up in a fenced cage. On the second day, we found the dog park which was actually very nice with a dog obstacle course. We chose this KOA since it was closer to Old Town Albuquerque but Old Town turned out to be very touristy. The Sandia Peak Tramway was great. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a park that is convenient to the interstate but not many attractions except grocery stores and RV dealers. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sites were quite narrow but no problems parking. However, it is greatly overpriced for what you get. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park in town. Excellent for overnight stays in town. Sites are paved and very level, which helps with quick set-up. Water and sewer hook-ups are not close together, so have a couple of hoses ready for your water hook-up. Owners are on-site and accessible, so you feel a nice family prescense. Overall, thumbs up! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Concrete pads. Neat and clean. Near highway and easy to get to and fine, not too noisy. Nice area for walking dogs. Friendly people and assistance was helpful and available. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
There's no scenery in this RV park. It's just a huge parking lot. not a much of a place to walk your dog. HOWEVER, the staffs were nice & friendly. Bathroom was clean and they had private shower. After long hours of driving it was a bonus to use their indoor hot tub to get rid of the muscle aches. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here for just an overnight. It was clean and close to the highway. Not too much noise. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Although they had no cable, the antenna was plenty good for several local channels. The WiFi also worked very well. The park is very near I-40 but due to the retaining wall we couldn't hear any traffic. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We recently spent a week at the Central KOA in Albuquerque. It was extremely clean and well run. We really liked the location. The park is close to all of the area attractions. It is one block from Route 66, and the ramp on to I-40 is nearby. We spent some afternoons swimming in the pool which was very, very clean. Security patrols were often and regular, and we felt safe and secure. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Rather expensive. Stayed a couple weeks while waiting for a space at a cheaper quiet park. Too close to freeway noise. Had problems connecting to the Wi-Fi. Good park for young families and those with pets. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice and clean park. The neighborhood was a little questionable, most people made sure to put things away at night. Nice pet walk, pool was very clean. Overall, a nice park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I will preface this review by saying this was our first stay at a KOA. I'm not a big fan of paved parking lots disguised as RV parks, and that's just what it is. The highway noise was very loud. Bathrooms were clean, but in need of updating. Easy highway access and weak wifi, but no cable. Spots are very close together and what would normally be grass is filled in with pea gravel. I thought this was park was overpriced. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We had a very enjoyable stay here. Our daughter wanted to have a birthday campout with some friends. Despite the heaviest rains we have seen here in about a year, we had a great time. The staff was exceptional, the campground was very clean. The proximity to the Interstate means a lot of road noise, which we were able to block out with a fan and the rain hitting the pop-up. The airport is also close by, but we did not really notice a lot of jet noise. The view of Sandia Peak was very nice. It is a little expensive compared to other KOA's we have stayed at, but we would stay here again for a short stay or an overnight. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Extremely helpful staff. Did not have any problem with interstate noise however evening winds were quite brisk on 2 of the 3 evenings we were there. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park was very clean. Easy access off of I-40. Wireless internet best in a park I have used. highway noise not a factor. We used a pull through and no problem getting in or out. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here just for one night as a stopover. We never unhooked our trailer. The hosts were exceptional, they said they would be there for 7 months. Pool was excellent, hot tub was in a seperate enclosed area and was excellent. Putt putt golf was the nicest of any campgrounds we stayed. It looked just like the photo on their website. We mentioned that we were probably not going to unhook, and order pizza delivered. It wasn't long before the host came on his golf cart with the phone number of the local Pizza Hut. I would say this was the nicest KOA we stayed our entire trip. I gave it a 9 because we were given the impression that this was not a very safe area. But we are always cautious, wherever we go. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Park was clean and well kept, but the campground staff was rude and resistant to giving any information about local interests, including restaurants. Not a pleasant stay, will not return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The park was very well kept, however the sites were very close together. I had to back out of a pull through site because there was not enough room between rigs to turn out. Found it odd that a park such as this does not have cable tv. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I felt the $55 rate, because of the balloon festival, to be a rip off as many others did. There were many empty sites our entire stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I really enjoyed our stay. Great staff. They kept the ground really clean! The park is easy to find, being so close to the Interstate. We didn't have much noise though, which was good. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Came in at 7:30 pm, self check-in with Credit Card, list of sites to choose from at checkin stand. Took awhile to find site, many streets and slots a little confusing in the dark. Grandson enjoyed playground, even with frozen water on the slides. Gravel road and slots, fairly level, close together but enough room for slide, clean but nothing to warrant the price which they have a chart for based on different hookups, number of persons in party, and pets. Going to find something cheaper for overnight stay on next trip. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This was like parking in a kitty litter box. There is a lot of very, very small gravel around that gets tracked in everywhere. I believe it was also overpriced for the amenities. You are almost right next to I-40. The interstate travel noise is very bad, and this was with our dual pane windows which help reduce the noise. They allow pets, but the pet area is not very nice and right next to large garbage containers. The parking spots were also sort of narrow and the neighbors were right next to each other. Some people might like this "parking lot" atmosphere with rows of campers right next to each other, but we will probably not be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
One of the nicer parks in the Albuquerque area, but big rigs beware. We observed a large Class A motorhome towing escorted around a corner then becoming impaled on the split rale fence on the corner. Tight turns. The owner is around the park continuously and is very solicitous, eager to help you. The park is gravel and dust based. One day the owner spent time cleaning up vacant sites with a leaf blower. The process blew a fine red dust all over our rig, windows, tow, and grill. If we need to be in this location for business, we'll stay again and ask the owner not to blow dust around our campsite. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice, pretty, clean grounds. Friendly office staff. Went for the "free" breakfast pancakes and decided instead to try the $6 breakfast burrito which was excellent. Nice little doggie park so the dogs can run. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here 3-nights in this relatively quiet campground. All services worked well including the Wi-Fi. Laundry equipment did not function well but pricing was reasonable. Site was level and most had artificial turf around picnic table. Need to be careful when leaving site not to hit tires on raised wooden timbers. Will stay here again when next in area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
My wife and I enjoyed this park. Though our spot was a little tight, the park was quiet and relaxing. It was clean. My wife loved the shade tree. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice, enthusiastic owner, level shaded site, quiet, easy hookups, nice baths recently renovated, nice laundry. Only complaint is that the dog playground was nicer than the kid playground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Typical KOA park - overpriced for what you get. While the management was friendly, when complaining about poor Wi-Fi nothing was done to alleviate the issue. The site we had was near the dog pens and we didn't have dogs. Also, the second night a huge fifth wheel was placed in a small site next to ours and because the site was really too small to accommodate the fifth wheel, after the slide were brought out, we could have opened our window and shook hands with the people in the fifth wheel-poor placement. While they serve free pancakes make sure you bring your drinks because they do not serve anything else but coffee - poor breakfast. Overall, we might stay there again if we were guaranteed Wi-Fi and a site where you didn't share the water, sewer and electrical outlets. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has a beautiful view if the Sandias mountain. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Our site was clean and fairly level and we did not have any problems getting in or out. There are plenty of activities going on in the park. There is a free pancake breakfast every morning in the summer cafe. This cafe also carries a full breakfast menu. Several times during the week they show current movies. The pool is sparkling and relaxing. The bath and shower facilities are super clean. We met a lot of people in the park and we all had a good time. This park is conveniently located between Santa Fe and Albuquerque on I-25, and is also close to shopping. This is one of the better parks that we have stayed in and we definitely will stay here again when we are back in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here for 2 nights over memorial weekend to test the trailer since it hasn't been used for more then a year. The park was great, the staff was super friendly, enjoyed the pancakes, and really enjoyed the pool. We will stay here again just for a quick get away from town. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a clean, attractive park with friendly staff. Our gravel pull-thru site was a little tight but our escort led us in so parking was not a problem. Water and electric hookups were fine. Fenced dog area is nice. We had some shade. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park is older, well worn. Spots were narrow, but it worked for a one night stay. Think we would try another one if we were in the area again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Great place. Granted sites are dirt but this is Albuquerque. Wi-Fi was the best for our entire 4 week drive around the country. They had 2 dog parks (I only saw one with my dogs, but it was clean with tires set in the ground a table and a bench and plenty of room for my two dogs to run off the energy built up from a day of travel). I was not bothered at all by any noise. Would I stay here again, absolutely. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here based on the good RV Park reviews, but I was somewhat disappointed. Most of what had been said was true, as a lot of attention has gone into the office and amenities. I felt like they have forgotten about maintaining their campsites. The wind was wild, which was not their fault, but the dirt gravel near the campsite's eating area, blew grit everywhere. The picnic table's paint was peeling badly and one end of the bench was rotten. Landscape timbers that mark the campsites were rotting and not sure why they ever painted them, as the paint was semi-worn off and looked shabby. Our view from our campsite was that of a factory across the street. The camp has had the KOA Presidential Award for the past five years and I wonder what the criteria is for receiving this award. We have been on the road for two months and this is my least favorite campground of the whole trip. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Got a real nice crescent shaped pull thru, nice and level in the shade. Have stayed here before and all the people here were as helpful as can be. There is a shuttle over to a Casino which is really nice with coupons on the KOA info page for money and food. Had a good time and will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Having fought extremely heavy winds as we exited Colorado and made our way west across New Mexico, my husband just couldn't go any further. We found the Albuquerque North/Bernalillo KOA in our KOA directory and headed there. The hosts were AWESOME! They said many travelers had been coming in off the interstate, and even though they had several guests coming in for a Pow Wow that weekend, were able to accommodate us for the night. We got a great pull thru site for our truck and 40ft toy hauler. Easy access. Sites are gravel. Restrooms/showers were clean. A small but nice play area for our boys who were ready to burn off some energy! Other reviews mentioned traffic noise from the nearby interstate. We didn't hear any that would be a nuisance. A free pancake breakfast is offered at the onsite cafe. I heard from other travelers that the breakfast burrito (adder charge) was fantastic! We HIGHLY recommend the Albuquerque North/Bernalillo KOA! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I have camped here multiple times as the park is just off I-25 and is a good stopping point for me when traveling to/from Arizona, or when visiting Albuquerque itself. The sites and roads are gravel. The sites themselves are a little on the short side, but I've never had trouble getting into one or hitching and unhitching. Depending on the site, I may be able to pull the truck in parallel with my fifth wheel, or may have to park perpendicular behind it. I sometimes need a couple of "lego" blocks to get level, but the sites are reasonably close to being flat. WiFi works fine here. There is a little strip of businesses between the campground and the interstate, so I don't usually notice any road noise. There is a railroad track somewhere behind the campground and I occasionally hear a train, but they don't seem to come by too frequently. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We always stay at this campground when we go through the area. They take very good care of their customers. The sites are very nice and ours was level. The cable brings in lots of channels. The free breakfast is good but the breakfast burritos which are extra are outstanding. The gentleman that helped us to our site was very helpful. This must be a family owned and operated campground and it shows in the pride that the people here. We highly recommend this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A nice, drive through site but only had 30 amp which sufficed. The staff was helpful and friendly. An easy drive to the city. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
One of our favorites! Gravel, level sites with convenient utilities. Has cable TV and great WiFi included. Has two nice dog runs, one just newly upgraded. A lot of new little upgrades being done everytime we've stayed. Trees are getting bigger and more spaces getting shade. All of the employees are courteous and helpful. We'll return again. The park is actually in Bernalillo, north of Albuqueque. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park. On interstate 25 to Santa Fe. Easy access in and out. Helpful camp-hosts, escorted us to our spot and helped direct us in. Very knowledgeable about area restaurants, directions. Cable good. Wi-Fi was OK. Very well kept and maintained. Would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We came here for the balloon festival, with reservations made months ago to stay in this park. Upon arrival, we found out our reservation was botched up in their computer, and the person that made the reservation was long gone. The volunteers running the front desk tried to accommodate us, but could only offer us two nights at two different spaces. What choice did we have? The spaces we parked on were moonscapes, with mostly dirt and an occasional plug of "grass". A small tree nearby offered no appreciable shade. This is not what we expected for a mature KOA campground, especially at the inflated balloon festival prices. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This website forces location to be Albuquerque, but park is actually in tiny town of Bernalillo several miles north of Albuquerque, so a long drive to anything interesting or useful in Albuquerque proper. Check a map to be sure location is acceptable. Park is on frontage road of I-25, and near railroad, so not quiet but not too bad. Not many trees, sites very close together. Park seems to be well-run, helpful staff. Park provides free breakfast of coffee and 2 pancakes, with other cooked items for sale. Good dog area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Roads and sites are gravel, but level. Some sites have shade, and some with mountain view. In making reservations, the site we got was in the old part with some mountain view, no shade. Our site was in front of a three site fire that had occurred a few days prior to arrival. Not the best atmosphere, but the park personnel did apologize for it. This park is an overnight stay only. Did have a pool for kids. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very nice KOA, one of the best we've stayed in. Staff is wonderful, helpful and goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Nice little store with basics, very clean pool, level gravel sites with easy hookups. For the southwest, more trees and grass than usual and landscaping is really nice. Breakfast very good and reasonable. Recommended by our RV dealer and I can see why. Don't miss Coranado Steak House/Mexican Grill. Looking forward to our next stay here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Easy on-off. Sites are a bit narrow, but generally level, and the overall park shows evidence of good maintenance. Even so, our cable TV connection didn't work properly, so we had to use the next door camp site connection (which was ok since it wasn't occupied). The neighborhood is a bit transitional, and the police came through the campground several times one night apparently on a call or looking for someone, which was a bit unsettling. Nevertheless, the overall park was more than adequate. Free pancake breakfast was a nice touch. We would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is beautiful, however some people just can't be pleased. I guess that if your water is off and all the emplotees are scrambling to fix it because someone pulled off with their hose still attached to the bib, it's a good reason to complain. We have had worse happen to us at 5-star hotels, so take a breath before you post snooty comments. Thank you for a great stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Have stayed here several times. Great staff. Very helpful and attentive to detail. Location is near the NM RailRunner train depot for easy side trips into Sante Fe and downtown Albuquerque. Free breakfast at park. Clean showers, good laundry room, pool and my dog absolutely loves the dog park. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I'm not sure how this park ever rated a "friendly" KOA designation. Some of its staff are friendly, some are downright rude. i.e. the lady who kept a bunch of people waiting for service while she took a personal call. The same lady took a call instead of responding to a complaint that half the campground had lost water. When she eventually got around to it, she (1) suggested it was a problem with my regulator (even though other sites were affected), (2) tried without success to locate a staff member to deal with the problem, and (3) wandered the campground like a lost soul, complaining to us about how her colleagues were nowhere to be found. The guy who serves breakfast could use a course in basic manners, rather than rail on and on to people who just want their free pancakes about the educational system, how kids are spoiled these days, or how too many guests came in all at once and made his day more difficult. The campground itself is nothing special. Many of the serviced sites have no shade or greenery. You might as well be camping at Wal-Mart (especially when the water hookup isn't working). We found the WiiFi to be unreliable at best. On the positive site, the place seems clean and the showers were fine. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very well-maintained campground with level sites. Sites are arranged side-by-side and relatively close together, but not a problem for me. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although it is convenient to major thoroughfares, it is reasonably quiet. I would definitely consider staying here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Gravel sites which are typically KOA narrow, but are very level. Especially long sites are those noted with a "P" designation. Good cable and wi-fi is OK. Utilities very good. Friendly, helpful staff. Free pancakes in on site cafe. Other food offerings very good and reasonably priced. Road leading to park looks pretty downscale, but not really a problem, just not attractive. Located right off I-25 providing good access to Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Very close to Railrunner station for train that operates between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. We are staying 14 nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed here several times and will continue to use this park for overnight stays. It can be tight driving around the park for large rigs, but if you take it slow and watch the trees you will be fine. The sites are nice and level, with lots of grass and trees. There is some road noise, but it is not too bad. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice KOA and very busy. Fills up many nights, so call ahead. Sites are of average size and everything is in good order. Easy on/off I-25 but quiet. Free pancakes are good, but cook is a real jerk. We will use this park again, but will not go near the cook. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an old park but a nice park. Has nice staff. The pancake cook is very opinionated but the free pancakes were good. Verizon worked well here. Nice stop on the way to Durango. Definitely will stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
They are in the process of improving sites in this campground. I was in an unimproved site. The staff was very friendly: the gentleman who escorted me in, helped me set up because he knew I was tired. The campground is very clean and well maintained. The reason for rating this park as a 6 is because the sites are very close together and the showers are very small. The bathrooms are very clean, and the showers get the job done, but it's not a pleasant experience. If you're a large person, you'll be very uncomfortable. The first night the WiFi was not working because of the windy weather, which is forgivable. However, for the rest of my stay, the internet was spotty at times, and it was slow most of the time. The campground location is convenient for someone like me who was visiting friends during the day. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is our third time staying at this park. What keeps us coming back: 1) 2 dog runs 2) the site we keep getting (P-1) has a grassy, fenced corner area for our picnic table--lots of room to sit outside and enjoy the mountain views. (Note: the price we list reflects w/e only, but there are FHU's available. Propane service is available and well-done, too.) 3) very friendly staff every time 4) the most excellent pancakes 5) proximity to The Range restaurant (as well as 550 and I-25, neither of which can be heard much, tho) Laundry and bathroom facilities are A-OK, too. Haven't stayed here when the pool has been open. The other potentially appealing thing if we could avail ourselves of it is its proximity to the Rail Runner station, which runs downtown to ABQ and then up to Santa Fe. Very handy. Great place. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is convenient to I-25 without being right on it. It is on the first road over along the interstate but on the far side with large building businesses between that help block the noise. Sites were gravel and the one we were put in required moderate leveling but doable. Bathrooms and showers were quite clean but several stalls on both the ladies and men's sides were out of service. Perhaps since it's the off-season they are waiting to call the plumber? The check-in staff were friendly but we were disappointed to hear that there would be no free pancakes as this was closed for the holidays. Would definitely consider staying here again if in the area. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
Landed here by chance after our original park messed up our reservation. Stayed for a week. Nice pull through sites and convenient to both Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Two good size dog parks - never seen that before! Staff was friendly, patient, and efficient. Grounds were clean, safe, and well-kept. This park is great for an overnight or extended stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Found the park to be good, facilities clean and the staff friendly. Arrived late and easy to find an open site as it was December, filled up with propane in the morning and headed north. We would stay here again and may well do later this week. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We aren't big KOA fans, but had to stay one night here for two reasons: 1) a friend was going to pick us up and take us to The Range in Bernalillo for dinner (don't miss that place) and 2) the reviews about the breakfasts were intriguing (and, it turns out, accurate). The free pancakes are actually some of the best we've ever had, but that breakfast burrito, with green Chile? Terrific. We made another meal out of it later, it was so big. Off season, park wasn't crowded. Dog run was adequate. Owners are very hands on and their pride in their property shows everywhere. Very friendly staff. When in area again, we might stay here (if it's not expected to rain). We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites are dirt and pea gravel so expect mud if it rains. We thought is was over priced as most KOAs are, but this park is close to the fair grounds for the Balloon Fiesta. Propane was $2.53/gallon so we didn't buy any here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We really enjoyed this quaint KOA park. The spaces are fairly wide and there's nice landscaping including wildflowers, and a small waterfall and fountain in the gardens. All the electrical boxes and other functional features around the park are painted with local motifs and the outdoor cafe has multiple strings of colorful chili-lights which adds to the fun atmosphere of the park. The pool looked clean but we did not use it. The cafe serves free (yummy!) pancakes, coffee & tea for breakfast and offers other cafe fare throughout the day - including some tasty southwest dishes. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The night we arrived, there was a customer appreciation night with free food, drinks, and a live (very good and versatile) band. In the summer, we heard that they show movies on an outdoor bigscreen TV. We only spent one night but we will definitely camp there again the next time we return to Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great site from all angles: friendly, helpful staff, clean, organized, good kids playground and pool, great breakfasts. Agree with the earlier comment about the approach, but don't let it put you off. We loved this site and will definitely be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
It is a nice park, with a good pool, and we were close to the restrooms which were clean and comfortable. They had a free pancake breakfast the next morning. The approach to the park was through a neighborhood that seemed very modest and we wondered if we had chosen a good park....we were very pleased with our choice. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is the best choice in Albuquerque! The previous review is wrong - this park is off I-25, not I-40. FREE PANCAKES! But...we highly recommend the breakfast burrito with sausages, potatoes and green chiles. If you can take it, add green chile sauce (not for wimps). The Wi-Fi is good, the cable works well. Everything's clean. This is one of only two KOA's that we visit because we want to. It IS the desert, and they can't control the weather. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Staff was friendly. The turn to get on the road to the campground is very tight if you use exit #240 as recommended by mapquest, I would recommend using exit #242 off I-25. We only stayed overnight, but would stay again when travelling through or to the Albuquerque area in the future. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground was so enjoyable because of the people who owned it as well as the staff. It has a new owner of 4 years and they are improving it every day. It is family owned and run. The spaces were nice, grass, shade. Pet friendly, and people friendly. Old town and new town Albuquerque was wonderful. Temps were fantastic. Old town had lots of awesome shopping from native to modern. Restaurants galore, from authentic Mexican to ice cream. Park in center of town with music and lots of shade and benches to sit. Love everything about this town. Such an enjoyable 5 days, thanks to the people at the campground and surrounding areas. Could live there... We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a well cared for KOA with mostly level, pull-thru sites. It's right off of Interstate #40, but the traffic noise is not bad due to a long sound barrier. No train tracks nearby! There is a fenced off-leash play area for dogs that is large enough for some serious frisbee chasing (i.e., dog exercise). It's a KOA, so the sites are a little closer together than we like, but it's not bad. The park is spotless. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here one night. This is a good campground with a friendly staff. The campground is a little difficult to get to and is in a semi-industrial area. The pet area is fenced, but is just dirt. The site was a bit small for the 39" fifth wheel, the F-450 and my wife's car, but it did all fit. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We met the owner within just a few minutes of setting up. He was working on the gardens around the campsites. It seemed as if he were always working and yet always cheerful. The showers he was so proud of were quite nice and always clean. Because my husband is working on this trip, wifi is very important and it was clear, quick and dependable. We stayed longer than we originally planned and would stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here in 1991 and loved it then. When we decided to go to Albuquerque on this trip this was the R.V. park we headed for. Outstanding staff, nice store, level sites, Wi-Fi and cable. They have a great breakfast for $14.00 with some seriously good chili. Honestly, it would be hard to choose a favorite between this KOA and Las Cruces KOA. This one has more trees and is quiet and peaceful. My only knock is that the site we were in had some branches a little too close for comfort. Otherwise a 10! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We love this campground! We've camped here many nights and have always had great service. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful and are super informative about things to do in the area. The pool hits the spot, too. The owner has been renovating the park over the past few years, and it really shows. If you camped here while under the previous ownership and were dissatisfied you should give it another shot. It's much nicer than the surrounding parks and cheaper, too. And who doesn't love the free coffee and pancakes! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Typical KOA north of Albuquerque and close to I-25. Gravel with good level sites and full hookup. Not too much highway noise, and easy on and off for a one night stay. I will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We pulled in late and the available sites were clearly marked and all information on facilities was easily available. Nice level sites with easy hook-up. Host seemed to be working hard to improve the grounds and it really shows! We were also able to fill up on propane before hitting the road again. Easy access off interstate and quiet (even on New Years Eve). I hear they have awesome pancake and green chili in the morning. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Easy access off I-25 and out of town so traffic is not a problem. The cable TV is kind of spotty on the local channels. Big rig sites are numbered so check during the busy seasons. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very nice park. They obviously spent time ensuring that sites were perfectly level. We have found many staffs to be friendly and cooperative, but this was one of the best. Campground is very convenient to the main highway to both Albuquerque and Santa Fe, but there was no highway noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice KOA with great staff. They even gave us several brochures of things to do in the area. It is located far enough from the interstate we had very little traffic noise. The Wi-Fi was a little slow and the showers could have been a bit larger, but were very clean. The sites easily accommodated our 34 foot motorhome with a 16 foot trailer. Laundry was a nice convenience also. Cafe was good also: try the breakfast burritos. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A classic KOA, when we first arrived I almost pulled through and left due to location, but once inside the campground we were pleased. Great sites, friendly staff, excellent restrooms and the chef makes an INCREDIBLE green chili-sausage gravy (I recommend it on the pancakes). Also a clean pool and playground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here last year. The improvement that has been made to this park is great. The staff is very friendly. We will be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Clean park. Easy for our 39' motorhome to navigate. Easy to locate. Close to great historical sites. Most of the full time residents were in another area. Dog "park" was very small. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice, friendly staff in this KOA. No problems at all. We stopped in on our way to California. We've been here before and will come again on our way through New Mexico. The breakfast in the morning is tasty. A nice change is the bathrooms and showers have been reworked completely, ALL NEW. Close to Sandia Mountain range and casino. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a normal KOA campground. We were passing through during the Balloon Festival and were lucky to get a site. The site we were given for our 30' Fifth Wheel was barely large enough for the trailer. We blocked the roadway when we pulled in and were unhooking. Had to park the truck behind the trailer and partially blocked the RV next to us. The personnel working at the park were very nice, helpful and accommodating. They had a real tough job at this time of the year. I will avoid Albuquerque during the balloon festival next time. I would stay here any other time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Typical KOA, we've stayed here a few times when we just need a break from the city. They are laying cable TV lines right now so that new feature will be available soon. Men's restroom and showers will be renovated in a few months too. They are always working on improvements and the staff is very helpful, they helped me track down a minor electrical issue in our popup. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Over priced even after Good Sam discount for a very ordinary, old campground. The Wi-fi works well. We did not check any activities. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Called Albuquerque North by KOA, but about a 20-minute ride via freeway to the center of the city. Owners were fairly new, friendly and were working hard to remodel. Employees were extremely helpful and amiable. Landscape maintenance was always being performed. Pool had a retractable cover. During inclement weather, and at night, the pool is closed. The park offers free pancakes and coffee in the "snack shack" on the property, but the food provider is not associated with the owner and gets angry when additional (non free) food is not ordered. Stayed there 8 days but only did the free pancakes and coffee on the first day; it was too irritating. Free shuttle service to nearby Indian casino. Sites on level gravel. Many without shade. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
General KOA. Nice, hard working staff they always appeared to be on the move. It is directly off the highway, I have read some people complain about highway noise, I heard none. I may be bothersome if you were in a tent. Nice pool, closed a little early though, pool closed at 8:00 with still an hour of daylight left. Sites are average for a KOA, not too close, but close enough to where you definitely had to speak to your neighbor, if you wanted to or not. Sites had picnic tables, fairly level on pea gravel. Free pancakes mornings, with sides at extra prices. My wife picked up pancakes for the myself and the kids while I made the rest. The initial reaction when we pulled in was kind of scary. The surrounding area looks questionable, to me, but once in and settle there were no problems. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here one night while passing through Albaquerque. Very convenient to I-40. Some what costly for not having cable and charging for wireless internet. But they have a nice staff and we would stay here again. We stayed in our 5th wheel in June. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park is next to freeway, but turning onto frontage road from northbound I25 is difficult for large rigs. Management is clueless, more often than not staffed by bubbleheaded teenagers. Rates are extremely high, but if you want amenities, this place has them. If you're looking for a place to pull off the road and just rest, this place is way overpriced and noisy. If you have kids, it may be the place for you; for serious RV'ers, I'd pass it by. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 5 months. The park is in an excellent location. Access to I-25 is only about 2 blocks away and there are two casinos just minutes away. The price we paid monthly did include electricity. The park was being upgraded by the new owner during our entire stay. The park does offer a view of the Sandia Mountains, has plenty of shade trees, a pool, a cafe, cabins, pancake breakfasts, play areas for children and dancing every Friday and Saturday. This is a FUN place to be and if a bit of noise made by people having a great time bothers you than you might want to consider another RV park. We found the sites to be very adequate for our needs with plenty of space for our car. This is a very clean park. The hardworking staff is incredibly friendly and very helpful. The day we were leaving we discovered that we had a flat tire. The owner and two other staff members spent 2 hours in the heat helping us put the spare on our RV so that we could get to a garage to have the tire replaced. The owner and staff are great, the location is great and I would have given this park a ten if the pool hours and laundry hours were extended. Both close too early. Having stayed in all of the parks in Albuquerque and surrounding areas, this is the best park overall. We will definitely be staying at this park again in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We wanted a campground close to Albuquerque to try out our new pop-up camper, and this KOA was our first choice based on proximity to our home. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. After arriving at our site, I couldn't get the propane pilot to light, and there were two sewer connections at the site, so I was not certain which one I should use. The host came right over to the site with me and happily helped me through the connections and answered some other questions that I had. The campground itself was smaller than some we have stayed at in the past, but it was very clean and had plenty of shaded sites. Our daughter enjoyed the playground (unfortunately the pool wasn't open yet) very much. The free pancake breakfast in the morning was very nice too, with very friendly staff that made the family feel right at home. The restrooms were clean and so were the showers. The only reason I gave this a 9 instead of 10 is simply because compared to other KOA campgrounds that we have tented at in the past, there are a couple that we liked better. We enjoyed our stay and we would certainly stay at the Albuquerque North KOA again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
As a campground it was ok and clean. Management was not friendly, not rude, just there. Our biggest gripe was the price for a overnight stay. Next time we will do Wal-Mart. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Quite a few Long Term folks stay here and they have most of the better spots. The campground is off I-40, north of Abuquerque about 20 miles. Sites are narrow and not terribly level and have little seperation with minimal landscaping. We camped here in a camper.
Most transient big rigs are assigned sites in a new area with gravel and concrete with asphalt streets in chevron design. No trees and most face west. We asked to have a site facing another direction and were put into an older section with plenty shade and some grassy areas. Pet owners take note, they don't allow portable pet pens although the restriction is not listed in list of rules. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park convenient to Albuquerque sights and services. Trees and landscaping gave some privacy between sites and some shade from bright sun. Wi-fi was fairly good. Excellent front desk staff that acknowledged arrivals immediately. Dog friendly. Some traffic noise from I-40 depending on whether the wind blew from that direction. Rate reflects weekly stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have been staying at this RV park for a while now and we like the convenience. Right off of I-40 at the west end of the city. Facilities are very good and the staff are very friendly. We did not make use of the free continental breakfast. Laundry and restrooms were great and Internet was very good too. Since it is on the west side of the city, places such as Sandia peak, etc. are a bit far way. We will stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice park off I-40 but the noise is not too bad. Very friendly office staff. Water quality and pressure good. Wi-Fi worked well, but slower than I would expect. Cable was not very good, snow on several channels rendering them unwatchable. Office states they are working on the problem. Concrete sites are far from level, a new one on me. Very nice complimentary continental breakfast each morning. Would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Had a nice premium paved site, but it was unlevel. We asked why the pool wasn't open, and was told that it might be open "in May" Really? 90 degree temps were common. The hot tub was fairly nice, although the water temp was not very hot. We look for these amentities when we travel, and these mean alot to us. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A much needed respite when the Santa Ana winds blew in! Our site was level and clean. Our water hookup was buried below some gravel and the staff member who escorted us to our site did offer to help us find it and get set up, but we didn't want to keep him out in 40+ mph as we weren't planning to use it. We stayed for two nights waiting for the winds to blow through. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and visiting with some other RVers in the morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The laundry room was impressively clean with about 8 reasonably priced washers and dryers. There was some road noise from the trucks on the highway but not enough to be a disturbance. Pricing included our Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The staff was friendly. The layout of the park is nice. However, the Wi-Fi was very poor. We had severe water problems, sometimes having no water at all. With or without a regulator the problem persisted. The road noise was very bad because garbage trucks ran every 15 minutes on frontage road going past the park to the dump. It is very overpriced. We had the misfortune of seeing a car belonging to one of the very long term residents being repossessed the morning we left. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Extremely well run park! Beautiful view of the city lights and starry sky. Very level paved lot, bathroom was warm and very clean. The park has a small grocery and propane. It has a spa and free breakfast, but we only stayed the night and left early the next day. Will stay here again and hopefully have time to use the spa and enjoy the breakfast that is served 8-10AM. Park is on the west side of the city so we had an advantage of missing early morning rush hour traffic when we left. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice park with friendly and helpful staff. Has easy access. Was a little noisy but not bad over all. They were even nice enough to recommend a park for the next night, even though it was not part of their corporate chain. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is nice and clean and convenient to I-25 & I-40. Would recommend this park and it's staff for staying either long term or overnight. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for one night in late October and the park was fairly full but many of the sites appeared to be extended stay customers. This is the third park in a row we have stayed in which had a very attractive layout and well maintained sites. We had a FHU, cable TV (50 channel), pull-through site in the new section. The new section is satellite friendly and some sites in the treed old section maybe satellite friendly. I was unable to connect to their Wi-Fi with my usual notebook and gave up after numerous tries over several hours. Later I was able to connect with my backup notebook. They have notes posted asking their customers to limit the kind of internet usage because things like streaming, downloading files, etc., use too much bandwidth. While I appreciate their effort to keep "bandwidth hogs" under control, I think their system may have its' own flaws causing some customers to have connection problems. For this size park (200+ sites), the pool and bath facilities are really inadequate. Yes, you can hear the interstate traffic all night. This is another nice park with some negative aspects. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very large park and was quite busy the day we stayed. I had made a reservation the night before which I would recommend. There is a variety of hookup combinations (amps/cable/sewer, etc.) so making your needs known in advance is helpful. Roads were well maintained and plenty wide. All sites are pull through with ample room to maneuver in/out. Most, if not all, are side by side. Bathrooms in our area (farthermost row) were closed for the winter making a long walk back to the main bathroom which was cleanly maintained. Check in was efficient, and the clerk was cheerful and competent. Nice little store with all the basics. This was a great place for a one nighter and would stay there again if passing through that area. Rate is Good Sam, although they offer discounts for a wide variety of affiliations. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed in the new "Big Rig" section. It's clean, and the roads are paved, extra long pull throughs. I-40 is very close so there is noise from the freeway. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed during the last weekend of Albuquerque Balloon Festival, hence the higher price. The park is clean, has a large dog run (short fence for large dogs, though), has a nice free continental breakfast daily, nice store. There is a plethora of information about the area (restaurants, hiking trails). Now the negative- many sites are closer, and one cannot choose your sites; dog run was smelly and staff would come into run without any concern whether you had control of your dog before he opened the gate; jacuzzi was broken, and staff was surly when asked about it (said they couldn't help that it took a week to fix it); pool is there but was closed for the season. The website advertised a shuttle to the Festival. When I arrived I found out it was $31per person per session. I found out the city offers a Park N Ride service for $12 per session (if you buy tickets online up to the night before. It is $20 per person if you buy at the pick up site). I strongly suggest the use of this service; it worked out wonderfully for us. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Wonderful place and very pet friendly. Highly recommend this to all RV owners. Even includes a daily breakfast at the registration center. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Two sections to this park, a new section which is suitable for big rigs and an older section which is nicely landscaped but which will be very tight for big rigs. Park has improved wi-fi since our last visit, but we still could not receive the signal at the south end of row 2 in new section. Park is near I-40 with easy on and off but traffic noise is very noticeable especially in the new section. A good overnight stop from I-40 or for longer stay in Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park. The staff were friendly and the park is well maintained. The rate is with the Good Sam discount. We enjoyed our stay, just prior to the ABQ Balloon Fiesta. There is a nice continental breakfast each morning. The roads are asphalt and the sites we large. When we arrived there were tree branches blocking us from opening our bedroom slide, but the staff quickly cut the dead branches. We will stay here again. Other reviewers noted the traffic noise. It is there, but we were in the back of the park, so it was not excessive. We just ran a fan in the bedroom at night and had no issues. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is actually a great park. Very clean, lots of room, great facilities and staff. The reason I only gave it a 7 was 24hour Hwy noise and it is about 7 to 10 miles out of Albuquerque. If it was closer to town and they could cut about 50% of the traffic noise out it would have been a 10. That said I would still stop again if I only needed an overnight accommodation. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
Nice to see recycling. Pool was refreshing and well maintained. Large shower areas. Breakfast was a great perk. Easy check-in and the location on the west side allowed no city traffic for a morning departure. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was an okay park. I loved that they were pet friendly and even give us a doggie biscuit for each dog. That being said, I wish their sites were more level. We had to go to Home Depot to buy wood to get our motorhome level. Love the free continental breakfast every morning and the friendliness of the staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Friends recommended this park to us, as they have stayed there since the shade trees were very small. The pool area is nice - and the spa is really spectacular... totally enclosed in a dome-like shelter! Our kids loved the park, and the dog run was really a great place to let them run off leash and meet other folks traveling with pets. We had a continental breakfast the next morning in the dining room... another fun place to meet friendly RV'ers. We have traveled coast-to-coast, and this is one of our favorite places to stay! The staff even gave us a dog biscuit for the dogs! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We loved this RV park and stayed for 8 nights. It had trees, a pool, a store, dog park, kid park and street signs. The restrooms, showers, and laundry were very clean and well kept. The folks were very friendly as well. We will definitely stay at this park again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here overnight as part of a trip out west. We were escorted to a full hook-up, pull-through site that easily accommodated our 38' rig. The sites had a large nice concrete pad with additional pad for picnic table (which was one of the nice commercial, coated metal ones). There were small trees at each site and decent size grass patch. There was free Wi-Fi but it restricted the mb you could use/download. There was a very nice playground with fenced dog park nearby. The pool was a decent size, although the attached spa was closed. The laundry and bathroom facilities were spotlessly clean. The small gift/ souvenir store attached to the office had a good selection if NM merchandise. Overall, we were very impressed with this park and would stay here again: either overnight or for a few days. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Rate reflects weekly rate. Very nice park located on the west side of Albuquerque just off of I-40. Camping World on the other side of the freeway from the park. Paved roads and sites with picnic tables in the new part, gravel sites on the older side. Park serves a continental breakfast in the morning. Office staff was very courteous and friendly. Only ding I have to give is the Wi-Fi is very weak, works well for a minute and then looses signal. We camped here in a 40' motor home and will return in October for the balloon fiesta. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park charges top prices and you would expect it to be in top shape, it isn't. There are a very high number of working people camped at the park, and there are quite a few extremely old RV's now parked there. If you're to become a working man's campground, then you shouldn't charge top tear prices. The pool and the hot tub area are totally unacceptable - the decks need to be redone, the chairs are falling apart. the hot tub is old and seriously unattractive. Work campers pretty much run things and some are exceptional at keeping the park clean and orderly, but there are some serious exceptions. Upon check-in, we had asked to be put in a particular area if there was space available, only to be put in a totally different spot. The desk personnel never listened. We understand that the park is under new ownership, perhaps they are just using this as a cash cow and have no interest in repeat business any longer. We had stayed here previously and had looked forward to this repeat trip. Next visit to Albuquerque, we'll be staying elsewhere. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nightly rate reflects Good Sam discount. Good paved level sites for overnight--long pull throughs. Well kept. Friendly staff. Wi-Fi was weak from our site but it did work some of the time. Typical campground for dry western states--mostly gravel and pavement in the new section. Older section had mostly back in sites but more trees and grass. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park located in close proximity to Albuquerque off I-40, fairly close to groceries, supplies, etc.. Great layout, very clean, good pet facilities, very level sites with gravel or concrete pads. In the “older section”, shrubs and huge picnic tables took up much of the usable space outside the rig. Daily continental breakfast was nice for the overnighters, but otherwise no planned activities. Rate above is a monthly rate including electric used. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Excellent park. Easy access from I-40, convenient to Old Town, Wal-Mart, Campers World and shopping. Highway noise not too bad. Pool and spa clean and warm. Bathrooms/showers clean. Two laundries. Sites in the older section were a little on the short side for truly big rigs, but doable. Plenty of room between sites. Sites in the new area seem long enough for the biggest rigs. Most sites are paved and have trees and shrubbery. Picnic tables on paved patio. Everything is well taken care of and personnel are attentive to any problems. We asked that a tree be trimmed so that it wouldn't poke our awning and it was done immediately. Cable TV was good but Wi-Fi was hard to get onto at times. Nice continental breakfast every morning at the office. This is our second time here and we would definitely stay here again when in Albuquerque. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I gave it a 10 because I'm staying overnight only. Those who stay longer and are placed in the "200" area may want to downgrade it because that area (I'm in it and love it) is all asphalt and decorative gravel. Summers in Albuquerque on asphalt - whew!!! Sign in is first rate, escort provided to site, info available from all workers very helpful. Extraordinarily clean and tidy. Highway noise from I-40 but we baffle it with a fan, as we do everywhere so no problem. All hookups properly placed and easy to use. I really like this place. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We spent a week here visiting friends. The park is great, friendly staff, shady level concrete spaces and a reasonable price. The pool and hot tub have limited hours and only minimally heated. The wind and blowing sand are a real pain, but that's not the park's fault, just the way things are in the high desert. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We spent over a week in this park. Our site was level, good electric, we had bushes providing privacy on our patio. Good WiFi, except in evening. Good Verizon internet and Sprint cell phone signals. Helpful staff. Only downside, roads, grass and trees are aging and need to be upgraded. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park is outside the city about 15 minutes. It's a drive to shop or get to any food stores although the camp store is well stocked. Albuquerque has high winds at times and not much to hold the soil down. Open land behind the park caused dust to get into even closed windows. RV spaces were of good width. We would stay here again if going through the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a very neat clean park. We were put in the "new big rig area." These sites were all cement parking with a small patio and decorative lava rock. The hook ups all worked very well and were very well placed. The sign in staff was very friendly and a staffer escorted us to our site and made sure we had everything we needed. Although the park is a ways out of town, it was a straight shot down the hill to Old Town and only took about 10 minutes to get here. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice RV park. Lots of trees, nice layout. The great advantage of this place is easy in and out from I-40, which is a disadvantage for the noise coming from the road. Well, if you have good ear plugs, it is perfect! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park, especially in the newer section. The spaces are large with concrete pads, and the roads are paved. The utilities are very nice, with two sewer hook-ups (center and rear) - well thought out! The park enjoys easy access from I-40, but not much road noise. It is about a 10-minute drive to downtown Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Roomy, clean, fairly level, no dust. Paved roads and sites with good utility placement. Easy access to I-40. Free continental breakfast included. Don't confuse with the adjacent "High Desert RV Park." Helpful, responsive employees. Will stay here again if in Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Unfortunately, there seems to be only a few RV parks close to Albuquerque and they are all located right on I-40 (all are within very close proximity to each other) and about 7 miles SW from the city. While others have said that they didn't have any problem with the traffic noise, we did. We were here for two nights and it was quite audible from our site #160 (pull through), which was nearer the back and away from the freeway. The park itself is clean and very nice. The staff was friendly at check in. The internet was down the entire first day of our arrival, but it was rectified the second day. They have cable TV and a free continental breakfast in the mornings. We would stay again, but would request a back-in site along the fence in the rear (this is where the views of the mountains are anyway) and farther away from the road. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This place is as nice as can be. Clean and well maintained. Everything worked and was convenient to the Interstate on the West side of town. With that said, there in lies the problem, it is too close to the interstate. Noise is very noticeable from the road and its traffic. I-40 is the main highway to anywhere out West, and the traffic doesn't die during the night. While we didn't take advantage of it, we were offered a free continental breakfast in the morning as well. We will stay here again on our way through Albuquerque, and run the A/C units at night to cover the road noise. The folks up at the office couldn't have been nicer to us!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a well run/managed park. It is convenient to I-40, but we had no problem with road noise. The baths and showers were exceptionally clean. The sites are close together. The park's Wi-fi was very slow. However, the park is adding a new Wi-fi, but we were too far away to receive it. Old Town is about a 10 minute drive. Received a good Verizon cell signal. The park's CTV has 48 channels. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a great park! It was conveniently located, and a quick trip to get to most parts of Albuquerque. The facility and grounds were very clean, and the staff was super. There is a very nice gift shop, and they serve continental breakfast every morning from 8-10. Sites are level concrete pads, with ample space between you and your neighbor. Hookups were easy. There is a nice mix of full/semi full-timers and short term residents. The shower/restrooms were ample for the size of the park, and immaculate, and so were the laundry rooms. There is a very nice pool and hot tub area, a big fenced dog run, and a children play area. There are shade trees in some areas, and landscaping. We felt extremely safe here, and enjoyed the stay immensely. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This has to be one of the best parks in the country. It is clean, well maintained and camper friendly. The provide a great breakfast and are close to everything in Albuquerque. I would recommend it to anyone travelling though the area or for an extended visit. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
We went to this Park for the shade trees and such. We got put in the slab part of the park. Wi-fi and cable were included in the price. Given the lack of amenities we thought the place was a little over priced. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for a week. Road noise from I-40 was the only negative. Park is very clean and office people were very friendly. Being right near I-40 intersection allowed for quick access to downtown and NW Albuquerque. The park was only 30% full. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Revisited park and were satisfied. We like the new area as the older part is too tight for big rigs. Only problem with the new area it is closer to a very noisy interstate. The roads are blacktop and wide enough to maneuver. Sites are wide enough for any size RV with any number of slides. Sites have concrete pad, but barely long enough for our 45' coach and tow. Each site has concrete patio with a table. Sites are divided by pea gravel. Wi-Fi was barely usable as obviously it was overused. Also disappointed that the spa was cold. They did provide a nice complimentary continental breakfast. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Beautiful park, well maintained, very clean, great location overlooking town, easy entry. Nice people. One of the better parks we stayed in We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice park. We were in the new section for big rigs: Paved pads and patios, decorative gravel between sites. Convenient to I-40, but some road noise at night. Wi-Fi is useless at peak times, slow at other times. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park a few miles west of Albuquerque. Wide roads in the park and golf-cart guidance to the site. Sites are level concrete pull throughs; hookups are very convenient. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Facilities were very nice and modern. We stayed in the new section of the park, which does not have trees or shade. We were there during the Balloon Fiesta and the park arranged an early morning bus to take folks down to the Fiesta. If you're there during the Fiesta, use the bus! We would stay there for the Fiesta again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This RV Park is highly recommended especially if you plan to attend the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta! It has everything you want in a campground. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We were escorted to our site. Our pull through site had a concrete pad and patio; it was long, level and a lot of room between sites. The staff is well organized. Our check-in was quick. Our round trips to and from Fiesta Park went well. Strongly suggest you take the bus from the campground if you plan to attend any of the events. The bus fee include admission to the park. You don’t have to worry about parking or getting to the destination. The campground offers free continental breakfasts, hot coffee, and popcorn every day. Cable TV and satellite reception were great. Our Verizon cell phone worked fine. The campground’s Wi-Fi reception was sporadic, sometimes slow other times fast; same applied to our Verizon wireless card. Campground has RV service on site. Also, there is a Camper’s World, mall, restaurants nearby. The negatives are extremely low water pressure (unable to shower in RV) since they have a well. Also, you hear traffic noise due to proximity to highway. I highly recommend this RV Park if you are willing to deal with the negatives. You will not be disappointed. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stopped here for an overnight eastbound on I-40. It was very clean, all that we saw, maybe even a bit sterile. We may have gotten a discount off the $38 rate, I don't recall. My first impression was that they had a few too many rules, but staff was very helpful and guided us to our site. Our site area had no shade, but other parts of the park may have. I see it checked already as shaded sites available. We didn't see the pool or restrooms, but judging from the office area and the grounds we did see, they are probably clean. Also, we ended up needing some work done at Camping World directly across the Interstate and they did not hesitate to extend our checkout time as needed. Actually, I'd like to stay here again and take a longer look at the entire park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I stayed here 3 nights and was very pleased with this park. The sites were nice size, level and shady. We used the pool daily, it is large, clean and very pleasant. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast buffet is a nice touch. The park is extremely well maintained and we enjoyed riding bicycles every evening. I would definitely recommend this park and plan on staying here again on our next visit to Albuquerque. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Likely the best in ABQ. Concrete and asphalt pads, internet a little weak, excellent breakfast. Staff was friendly, easy access, wooded, and quiet for being 300' off I-40. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This beautiful park is one of our favorites. It is perfectly maintained, has lots of grass and trees with paved roads and sites. The staff is excellent. A free continental breakfast is offered every morning. Showers, bathrooms and laundry facilities are spotless and excellent as are the cable TV and WiFi. The park is located outside of town where it is safe but close enough to all attractions. The only thing that keeps us from giving a 10 rating is the noise from the freeway. We will definitely return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This RV Park was great just as the other reviews have said. Next time we pass through we hope to stay longer. Be sure to tell them when you check in how many pets you have--dogs get a little gift bag. Our rate was based on the FMCA discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rates are high. They have an old section that has trees, but sites aren't level. The new section is like a parking lot. They offer a continental breakfast that is not necessary. We have stayed here before, because it is convenient to Route 66 casino. If you are doing a one nighter, I would try to stay somewhere else. We camped here in a Motorhome.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. This is an excellent park with landscaped, paved, level sites. There is a pool and spa with is extremely nice. A complimentary continental breakfast is provided each morning. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, which is very important to us. The park is located right off the interstate and across from Camping World. The only negative is that the access to the internet was poor. We would definitely stay here again!!! We actually met someone on their way to Albuquerque and I recommended they stay at American. Very, very nice park We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very friendly staff. They welcomed us with a smile and immediately gave us a treat for the dog (big points from my wife). Nice, clean facility. All utilities work well. Sites are level concrete, roads are paved, many sites have a grassy area. Nicely landscaped and well kept. Convenient to I-15. Probably some road noise but couldn't hear it over the AC. We will surely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Excellent park. If I could give it a score of 15 I would. One of the best RV parks we’ve stayed in over the years. Level pull-through concrete sites. Nice pool. Didn’t try the spa. Friendly, helpful personnel. Restrooms and showers were great. Continental breakfast was nice (bagels, toast, cereal, orange juice, coffee). Our site was a pull-through with trees and grass. Noise not bad from the highway. Convenient to I-40, Walmart, Camping World, other shopping. Good cable and Wi-Fi reception. Very well-run park. We plan to stay here anytime we are in Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Paved and concrete slab for sites. Laundry room was clean and conveniently located. There was road noise from the interstate in addition to the noise from a neighboring business. We would probably stay here again as a place to stop for the night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Stayed overnight on the way to Bullhead, AZ. Very lovely park, large sites, and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We had planned to stay at the KOA in town, but we saw this place and thought we'd try it. Boy are we glad we did. This is a nice, out of town park but we had only a few miles on a side road to the Albertsons on one side, Smiths on the other. There is a Camping World over the interstate and lots of RV shops and sales. The people here were great and even has a free breakfast. Has very level sites and paved with grass sides. We will stay here again for sure. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is our third time to stay at this great RV park. It is clean, well managed, level concrete slab sites, excellent WiFi. There are around 50 TV channels. Laundry room is lots of washers and dryers and work great. We will always stop here when in this area. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
Excellent park. Level pull-through concrete sites. Nice pool but spa heater was not working while we were there. Friendly, helpful personnel. Continental breakfast was nice (bagels, toast, cereal, coffeecake, orange juice, coffee). Newest section is like a parking lot, but the older section has some shade. Noise not too bad from the highway if you were in the back of the park. Convenient to the highway, Walmart, Campers World, other shopping and downtown. Good cable and Wi-Fi reception. Very well-run park. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
One of the nicest parks we have stayed in. Clean and neat, and the work campers really care. The cable TV was snowy on some channels. Shade was adequate and very appreciated. In addition to everything else, they have a free continental breakfast, and popcorn in the afternoon. I would certainly return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate shown reflects monthly rate divided by 30 days. Electric is 10 cents per kh billed monthly-our bill was over $100. Please be aware, you will NOT receive free breakfast if you are on monthly rate. Many permanent residents in perimeter spots, some with several vehicles and storage items. Wi-fi was spotty-we were parked within 3 spaces of unit and it still didn't work. The front desk stated there were no problems, it must be our equipment. We did not use rec. room, pool or spa as they were constantly used by kids. We moved up the road to High Desert (see review) at the end of the month. The park was clean and well-managed, but we would have liked to mingle in the morning with the breakfast crowd, but it was expressly excluded. We would not stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here mainly because of previous reviews. The staff was very friendly. However, had asked for a space where our satellite would work. We were parked next to a tree blocking the satellite. The cable TV connection at our site did not work. The maintenance man had to run a cable from the space next to us (which was vacant). The WiFi only worked 50% of the time, even though we were quite close to the office. Took our little dog for a walk. He immediately was covered with bullhead stickers. Much distress for him and for me to remove them. They do have a doggy area, which is all sand and dirt. I do not think we will stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Super friendly with a nice layout (older section), a nice grassy area with shade next to our site, which I think was a premium site. Restrooms were clean, has a ice pool, free breakfast. Only negative was that some pet owners allow their dogs to poop on the grass at our site. Can't really fault the management though. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
After staying in Colorado at various sites for the last 30 days, must say that this is the best park we have been in. The only exception to this might be Tiger Run in Breckenridge. Roomy, concrete pads, picnic tables, continental breakfast, trees, pool and well-run. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We like this campground generally and have stayed here several times. The people are very friendly and helpful and the park is, in general, well kept. We haven't been here in a couple of years and they've added a section to the east of the office that, although the sites are large, seems a lot less appealing. It's essentially a parking lot, with no trees and no grass. We were in the row just in front of that section, so we had some grass, but the view out our back window was pretty bleak! Also, our site required that we pull all the way to the front, parking the truck in the rear, because there's an uphill grade to the flat part of the site. I think most of the other sites are pretty level, though. Another negative is that the laundry (there are two, both small) is too small for more than one person to work in there comfortably at one time and there's no place to fold clothes. The park is also expensive, compared to the two other campgrounds very near by, but it has more amenities. It's a trade-off but I think next time we'll try one of the cheaper ones -- we don't really need all the amenities and we can save half the price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a very nice park just off I-40 and just across the expressway from a large Camping World. The park just expanded to add a large number of big-rig pull-throughs. Unfortunately, the new sites are not very level because of storm run off (we suppose), even though the area has very little rainfall. The sewers were also placed incorrectly so you either don't use the sewer, add hose extensons or disconnect your towed vehicle. This area has no shade trees while the older section of the park does. There is a complementary breakfast in the morning and the staff are very helpful. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Lovely site, park is very family and pet friendly. Our site was shady, grassy and very comfortable. Stayed for 4 days: very nice. No disappointments. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Amazing campground!! We actually drove 2 1/2 hours just to return to this site. Tons of staff and every amenity available, even free breakfast. They have amazingly soft mineral water showers, exceptionally clean sites, and, a giant dog run (desert acreage behind site). Best place I have ever stayed, it is run like a hotel. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an excellent park. We have stayed here many times. It is very clean and the front office people friendly. They have a continental breakfast every morning but we did not use it. You can quickly get on I-40 from there also a Camping World close by. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great park and management. The manager is a Ham (K1HT) and is supportive of Amateur Radio Operators. Recommend a stay here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed in the new part. Nice park. Free breakfast. Sites wide and level. Verizon air card worked great. Close to many attractions. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the most pleasant park of the three in this area. Old section has shade and the new section doesn't. New section is great for overnight. The old section is better for more extended stays. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our only negative comment would be that the dryers in the laundry room get so hot even on the delicate cycle, that it can be hard on your clothes. We were in the new section in a 43 ft. motorhome and had ample room. Although we were close to I-40 we did find the road noise to be a problem. Would definitely recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
One of the best "highway" RV parks we've stayed at! Incredibly clean and well-maintained. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful; they worked with us when we had to change to an easy-turn pull-through site to accommodate turning restrictions related to repairs made at the Camping World across the highway. The pool and hot tub are very nice and a welcome respite after a day or travel or sightseeing. The free morning breakfast was WONDERFUL as was the afternoon popcorn! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Camp hosts were extremely nice and friendly. I locked myself out of my vehicle at Dollar Tree and they (park hosts) were kind enough to get a key from my husband (in the park) and bring it to me. These are a great bunch of folks. They have an enclosed hot tub by the pool. They also have a continental breakfast at the office every morning. The sites have grass and shade. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park with great facilities. We stayed in the older section with trees and it was definitely quieter back there. The newer section has more room for big rigs but we had no trouble parking our 39 ft. fifth wheel with 4 slides, in the back section. The staff was really friendly and the continental breakfast was a nice touch. We stayed for 3 days and would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is well run and taken care of by park staff. The roads are good asphalt and sites are cement or small gravel plus level. You now have new sites on east side of park with no trees and close to I-40 so you will have road noise. Sites over in the older side have trees, plants, birds and rabbits running around. In the older part you have less noise off I-40. Our site had 50 amps, water at 40 psi, sewer, table with cement pad, gravel pad to park on and cable TV with 24 channels. Wi-Fi was part of the park fee and worked well. You now have a limit on data speed. If you try to download music or movies it will not work here. Verizon cell and air card worked well. You have a place for kids to play and a dog run next to it with no thorns that I could see. On west side of park you also have a larger dog run. All I could see or find was sand, no thorns. The Flying-J is two miles east for all your gas, diesel and LP needs plus they sell it by the gallon. Bathrooms were spotless as was everything we looked at in this park. We have been in or looked at the other RV parks in ABQ and think this one is the best. If road noise off I-40 had been a little less park would be a 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice, well-maintained RV park with good paved interior roads. We were in the new section with paved pads and gravel sites. These sites had plenty of room for our motorhome and our dinghy. The staff is friendly and helpful; we were escorted to our site. There is interstate noise; the volume depends on where you are in the park. You can recycle some things at the office or better yet, at the Petroglyphs National Monument. The $30 reflects a weeks stay. We paid for 6 nights and got the 7th night free. When we needed to stay several more nights, they took us back to the daily rate. Photocopies made at the office will cost you 25 cents each. If you want to give your rig a bucket bath, it will cost you $20. We had poor water pressure at times and finally filled our fresh tank and used our pump rather than the shore water. The continental breakfast was cereal, toast, and bagels; we would rather eat in our rig and have a reduction in the rate. We didn’t use the WiFi, cable TV or bathrooms so can’t comment on those. We would stay here again but might look around first to see what else is available. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We are an overnight camper having no kids or pets. We use our own facilities. The good: Park is very clean, with nice trees and grass. Sounds of doves in the trees is wonderful. Staff was excellent. The bad: We require good WiFi to communicate with family. Wifi did not work at all! They charge by the size of your propane tank, regardless of the amount of fuel you take. A thirty pound tank is $26.00. The water connection had no handle, had to use pliers to turn on and off. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Contrary to the January reviewer who asserts that those of us who like this park are either shills or ignorant hicks, I continue to find this park to be the best and most convenient in the Albuquerque area. The park is so well run and maintained that it gets a high rating from me, and others, who appreciate the dog run, very nice showers and laundry, breakfast (my better half loves the free popcorn), views of the Sandias, paved sites many with grass around them and shade trees (to keep the dust down--a rarity in ABQ). Now, there are certainly quieter parks, but the high rating I give is for the Albuquerque area, not in relation to an absolute standard, which I think the other reviewer must be doing. There are just a lot of dusty, uncomfortable dumps around ABQ, and this one stands out as a gem. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We loved this park and would have stayed longer if our schedule allowed. The restrooms and showers are clean and very nice, like in a good hotel. The staff was friendly and gave us two dog biscuits to welcome our dog to the park. One of the employees driving by in a golf cart stopped and gave him another cookie. There is a small, fenced, off-leash area so dogs can play and be dogs. It is clean and furnished with agility equipment and poop clean-up bags. There is also a fence at the rear of the park that allows access to a road where you can take your dog for a long, unleashed walk. Clean-up bags are provided at this gate as well. The park grounds are tidy, our site was level, and the many trees would provide shade later in the year. This is a very pleasant and well-run park and we would definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I would have rated this park a 10 were it not for the near proximity to Interstate highway 40. The traffic noise can be substantial. It that doesn't bother you then this is the place to stay in the Albuquerque are. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice, organized RV park. The staff were extremely welcoming. The park is close to I-40 but we not bothered by the road noise at all. They have a free continental breakfast in the morning. The sites are level, cement pads with gravel between some and grass between others depending on the area you choose. We will definitely stay here again when we are on our way to Arizona. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Planned to stay a week or more here. Stayed one night and left. The site was terribly uneven and we couldn't get level, which seems odd for a paved park. We called ahead for a late arrival and were charged for one night with instructions to come to the office in the morning and convert it to the weekly rate. The morning staff lady was extremely rude, acted very bothered that we interrupted her chatting with some other staffers, and refused to give us the weekly rate that was promised the night before. Fittingly enough, this was the only park in all the southwest that our dog got a thorn in her paw! Fortunately there were numerous other and better choices in the area and we happily moved on to a much more accommodating location. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We revisited park after not doing so for several years. Before we just found the streets & sites too tight for a big rig. Now they have opened a new area that is very big rig friendly. Sites are big enough to handle any size rig with any number of slides although unhooking a tow car behind very large motor homes may be required. Sites are gravel with a concrete patio with a table. The utilities are modern & well placed. Staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet was good. We will return in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our only complaint for this park is the cable TV's limited channels: no ESPN on the system so no Monday night football! Otherwise we like it and stay at least a couple times a year as we go through the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We checked out several Albuquerque-area campgrounds, based on the reviews on this site, and--no surprise--the reviews on this site were right again! American RV Park is just great: friendly staff, very nice facilities (laundry, showers, hot tub, store), but the reason we stayed here? Rain was expected and this was the only CG with paved sites not dirt (mud). Plus, the dog run area was crucial, since we'd been subjecting the poor dog to lots of desert/rocky campgrounds of late. The only downside is I-40 traffic noise. We stayed in the first row of sites behind the main buildings (which front the freeway). Good proximity to facilities on rainy days but those trucks run 24 hours/day. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were very disappointed with this park. After reading all the 9-10 star reviews we were really expecting something special. We can only guess that the park posts bogus reviews OR the people that do post reviews do not stay at very many locations. The RV Park is located immediately adjacent to the 40 freeway 8 miles West of Albuquerque (outside the city limits) just above the grade descending down to the valley floor. All day and night you could hear the Jake Brakes engaging on the rigs as they traveled East (and we were in the back of the park!). On top of the highway noise the RV park is also underneath the landing path for ABQ International and Kirtland AFB (F-16s are a bit noisy). We had to run our AC at night just to drown out the noise. The park itself is OK. We were unwilling to pay the extra $5 per day to be in a pull through which meant we were placed in the back in a narrow back-in (I had to trim a tree to pop-out our sides). The neighbors park wherever they please with some trucks sticking out into the street making navigation difficult. We were right next to a couple that worked as camp-hosts and their "authority" seemed to allow them to let their dog poop at will (I had to pick up 10 piles in our site during setup). The pool was clean but the host would close it down early at night. The spa was warm but was a bit frothy (i.e., not well cared for). The laundry had newer machines but no coin dispensers so the one time we went to do laundry we were out of luck. Anyone giving this park an overall rating of 7 or better is being very generous. This is an OK location for overnight stays or a few days but don't stay a week like we did. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is the second time we've stayed here and have enjoyed the pleasant welcome, escort to the site, spacious pull throughs and enclosed dog run. The staff are very friendly and efficient. We stayed in the new section on this occasion which has no grass so not as nice as the older section, but I still rank it very highly for an I-40 night stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park has a large new area that works very well for big rigs. The grounds are very clean and the staff was great. It is a little hard to find but only because of the road construction on the interstate which is not the fault of the RV park. The wi-fi signal is pretty weak, but that seems to be the case at most of the parks that we have stayed at over the past year. Overall we have been very happy with this park and will stay there again when we are in Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Staff was nice. Sites were narrow for our TT and slide in the older part, but that's all they had. We didn't want to stay in the new addition. Pull thru sites are long enough for our tow and TT. Everything else was fine. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very polished, professional park. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful: when we had cable TV trouble, they sent a maintenance man immediately. Everything was immaculate. The only reason I did not give it a 10 is that the internet connection went in and out regularly during our stay, which was frustrating. There was highway noise, but not excessive. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very friendly staff, well maintained park with good spaces. Staff leads you to your site and makes sure everything is OK. There was easy access to sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
An excellent RV Park. This is one of the best we have ever stayed in. The park is clean and well maintained. Very pet friendly park with a fenced pet area and a great place to meet your neighbors and their best friends. The staff would pass out dog treats to the dogs whenever they passed us when our dogs were outside. The staff was outstanding and very friendly. Even the other campers seemed more friendly than usual. The staff's attitude is catching. Wi-Fi worked very well. The cable TV had a good selection of channels. They have a free continental breakfast. Park has concrete pads and level sites where we stayed. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A super place to stay: the staff was just outstanding and grounds are well kept. We will use this location anytime we are on I-40 We camped here in a Motorhome.
A well managed park with courteous and friendly staff. A guide takes you to your site. They had good Wi-Fi and a great complimentary breakfast. We stayed in a gravel site with an adequate concrete pad. Premium grass sites are available for $3 more. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park. It is easily accessible from I-40 even though there is considerable road construction underway. Our campsite was in the middle of the park and there was no road noise. There are trees throughout, park was clean overall, the restrooms and showers by the office were clean and spacious, and the laundry was decent sized. Staff were very friendly and helpful about the local area. The free breakfast is a plus. The only negative for us was the sites were fairly close together. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed in a large, shady pull-through site. The Wi-Fi signal was strong. Their pool is clean, and there is an indoor hot tub. There is a free continental breakfast served in the morning. The campground employees are helpful and courteous. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a great place to stay. The staff was helpful and courteous and changed our site from one of the large, open sites (no landscaping) in the new section, to a beautiful site with grass on each side and small trees. The site was shorter than the big-rig sites in the new section but we were able to unhook the car and park it along the road in front of our site. There is a little highway noise, but not bad at all: the park is set back from the highway access road. They are very dog friendly with a shaded, grassy, fenced area for pets in the middle of the park and another large, sandy off-leash area on the side of the park where you could easily play ball or frisbee with a larger dog. They provide pick-up bags and trash cans at both locations. They offer a complimentary continental breakfast of toast, bagels, cereal, milk, coffee and juice which was very nice. I would recommend this very nice, neat and clean park. Just let the staff know what kind of site you prefer: treed, grassy, gravel or open and I am sure you will have a pleasant stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Wow! This is a Legacy RV Resort and has excellent ratings and reviews on this site and others. And, it has certainly earned those distinctions. It's just a really really nice park. I believe someone said it has the top ratings of any RV park in New Mexico and we can see why. Oh it's not without it's issues: it's difficult to get to because of the construction near the park, some sites are tight. Biggest issue for us was maneuverability amongst a lot of people who had their tow cars part way in the access roads. This sites we saw all had concrete landing pads, gravel sides (some with grass) and nice picnic tables. Sites are nice and wide and have plenty of room to push things out and are well maintained. All access roads are paved. Good Wi-Fi and water pressure. The staff are really great. The morning waffle breakfast needs a bit more zing, but can't complain much when it's free. All-in-all, it's an incredible value. One recommendation for big rig people, there's a special big rig lot but it's just an ugly old parking lot with hook ups. If you have a choice, chose one of the other sites within the main park that can hold a big rig...you'll be much happier. Oh and one last thing, the office closes early, like 5:00, but the parks after hours check in is really great. You pick an envelope for the site you want out of the night box, fill out the information, and you're done...but take a walk first to make sure the site you pick is the one you want. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The sites here are pretty level. Our site had a somewhat grassy area, mixed with stickers, weeds and foxtails. Sprinklers came on while setting up at 3:30 in the afternoon. Pet run was mostly dirt due to some work going on inside the fenced area. Wi-Fi did not work at our site but did in office area. We had to hook-up cable in 3 sites before we got it to work. The continental breakfast was average. Don't know how they were rated as New Mexico's best RV park... We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Excellent RV park close (5 miles) to downtown Albuquerque. The staff was friendly and the facilities were clean. Stayed here four nights while sightseeing and visiting friends in the area. Wi-Fi worked great for us at our site and poolside. Pool/hot tub were excellent. Cable TV worked fine for us. Construction on Interstate-40 ramps near park required a short detour but we had no problems navigating the roads with our 40 ft motorhome plus tow. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The price reflects the weekly rate. We chose this park because it has Wi-Fi and cable TV: but neither one worked for us. We had to use our outside antenna for local channels and go to the breakfast room to get Wi-Fi even though we were parked under an antenna. The breakfast, laundry, restrooms, pool, etc., are very nice. But we really wanted good TV and Wi-Fi for the week. This is not out of the ordinary however, we have been in many parks that advertise cable TV and Wi-Fi only to find neither one works acceptably. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is part of the Legacy RV Resort and is quite upscale as a RV park. I’d compare it to the Marriott Inn or a Regency Hyatt as a motel. Sites have concrete pads, are well spaced, quite clean, with some trees for shade. Restrooms, showers, and laundry are clean and handy. The pool was closed due to storms in the area but the spa was open as it is in an enclosed area. The free continental breakfast consist of bagels, various breads to toast, coffee cakes, and hot or cold cereal. The only thing I missed was the waffle iron to make your own waffles. The staff was helpful with ideas of things to do and see. This place is definitely a keeper. Interstate work and construction at the exit required a little navigation but no real problem. There is another RV park a block or so before getting to American RV and I almost turned into the wrong driveway. Only my GPS kept me straight. So watch out. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is easily the best park in Albuquerque. The only flaw is the exit off the interstate which really isn't something that they can remedy. This was the second time we visited. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites were a little tight, other than that it was a great campground. I would recommend it and stay here again. The people were friendly. They serve a breakfast in the mornings. We only stayed one night since we were just traveling through. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the second time we have stayed at this campground. It is top notch. I would give it a 10 except for the fact that their cable channels are very limited and for the nightly rate they should have more options. The grounds are well kept and the park is immaculate. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Can not really find faults. Very clean, well kept, friendly park. Would recommend. Stayed here one night and enjoyed a shaded spot, on concrete. Dogs enjoyed their walk around park, and so did we. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Interesting park because it consists of two sections, the old and the new. We stayed in the new that has very nice, wide concrete pads. I didn’t survey the old section so my comments and rating are based solely on the new section. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Sites are wide, level and well planned. For instance, the sewer fitting is low which lets gravity do its work quite well. Its nice to lift an empty drain hose. WiFi worked well. Close to I-40 but noise was not a factor. Perhaps due to the prevailing wind direction. I didn’t note any adverse factors and would stay here again. We stayed two nights and would have stayed longer if our schedule permitted. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is located on the western side of town right off the freeway. It is very quiet. Sites are laid out nicely, some with shady trees. Huge Class A Motorhomes and Fifth Wheels dominate the large sites. They offer free continental breakfast in the mornings. Cereal, bagels, pastries, coffee and orange juice are available. The staff was very helpful, changing our site from the front of the park to the rear. Wireless is available but spotty at times. I'd stay here again when in town. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We thoroughly enjoyed this park; it is at the end of town but very convenient if you are traveling west on I 40. Staff was super--extremely friendly and helpful. Sites are a bit close, but plenty of room for slides, awnings, etc. without being right up against your neighbor. There are some very big rig sites which are on a concrete parking lot. Since we weren't that big, we opted for the grass areas, which were quite nice. Free continental breakfast with free coffee throughout morning at office; free popcorn in afternoons--just other examples of the welcome that we felt when we arrived. Camping World just across interstate. We definitely will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very well maintained park. Office people were very helpful. We had a nice site backing up to the mesa. Site width pretty good; didn't feel crowded with sites on either side occupied. Space for a table on the patio. Good laundry. Free continental breakfast every day. Nice gift shop. Can pay to wash your RV ($20) at your site. Stayed for a week; rate reflects weekly discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Spaces a bit tight. Road noise not bad while in rig but awful sitting by the pool. WiFi very poor. Lot's of full timers. Maybe would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a beautiful RV park. The staff was very helpful and more than accommodating. The park had very clean restrooms and several places to do laundry that were very well kept. One of the nice perks was a lovely continental breakfast that was served in the dining room each morning. We will definitely stay in the American RV Park again when we travel to Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Clean park grounds with level concrete pads. Picnic tables at each site. Nice pool and patio area. EZ access to interstate and route 66. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Older section to the west, newer section for big coaches to the east. Older section: well established, a bit tight turning radius's - but nice foliage & shade. New section: concrete pads, nice pull through design for up to 45 ft RV's, needs Foliage for separation/privacy/shade. Staff is 10/10 - Super friendly, professional, welcoming & positive. Great clubhouse offering free carb oriented breakfast, with clean pool. We would definitely stay here again. Easy access to freeway. About 5 mins West from Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice facility, professional and courteous staff. I would highly recommend this park. I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here during the Good Sam Rally and were impressed at how organized and professional the staff was. On the day the rally ended, the park emptied and then was filled again as 70 RVs arrived from the Balloon Festival grounds. We watched as each RV was led to their space and had the hookups explained to the driver. Other aspects of the park have been described at length in other reviews; suffice to say that the park was up to its usual high standards and that we had an enjoyable stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park! Easy on and off of I-40, but road noise is minimal. Easy in and out and around park, good roads. Such nice people working there and the free breakfast is a very good bonus! We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice paved sites. Up front they have a small area of grass and small trees, very nice. Most sites are actually a paved area all around. Pool was NOT open during our week stay. Wi-Fi and cable are free though the Wi-Fi was very erratic. Just keep at it and eventually you can log on again. Staff is VERY nice to work with. Laundry is too small for this size park. We went to the laundromat down the road on Coors Blvd. SW.. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Great RV park, friendly and helpful staff. Easy check-in and escort to site. Laundry and restrooms/showers very clean. Nice continental breakfast between 8:00 and 10:00. Not so easy access from I40 but is very doable as long as you pay attention. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a great park. Very well kept, lots of amenities & nice people. We will stay at this park again when in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We thought this was a great place to stay despite the fact that the sites are a bit too short and narrow and a little too close together. The roads were paved but also a bit tight. However, none of this was so bad that it would keep us from staying there again. The staff is super. They were a great help when we had a serious problem. The sites were paved, level, and had a patio with a table. I can’t remember if there was a grill. Most sites were shaded. The free Wi-Fi was good, but the cable TV was a little lacking. Not all the channels came in clear, and for some reason, that even the staff couldn’t figure out, we had to disconnect the cable and use our antennae to get local channels—just a fluke at our site. The pool looked nice. The construction on I-40 is still a mess, and we could hear traffic noise, but it did not bother us. Apparently the park is adding sites. It will be interesting to see if they will be larger to better accommodate big rigs. Either way we will be staying there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
There is road construction going on at the exit and it is easy to miss your turn. The staff was very friendly and we were escorted to our site. The park is very clean. The sites are a bit close together and could be a little longer. There are good pet walking areas and there was some noise from 1-40 but not too bad. There are no stores nearby except Camping World. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A nice park with excellent camp workers. The work staff are friendly and helpful and worth whatever they are being paid. Camp serves a nice breakfast from 8 -10 ( Waffles, pastries, cereal, juice, coffee, bagels/english muffins ), very nice. Pool & hot tub clean and sites are easy to get in and out of. Has a nice dog walk but watch our for the goatheads/cockle burs in your dogs feet - most annoying. Only downer was that while we were there we heard of some tire valves being cut and a trailer hitch that was actually stolen. Not good and maybe for a park this size a night roving security might be helpful. I-40 road noise is bearable. If you visit, the RT 66 casino offers a nice buffet M-W (10.00 for two with a players card ). We'd stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A very nice park. Super friendly staff, free daily Continental Breakfast, free wi-fi, large pull throughs. We stayed here 3 nights and found it comfortable. Very pet friendly. The park is located a few miles west of Albuquerque on the 40, and about a mile east of Camping World. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is our favorite park when visiting the Albuquerque area; professionally run, nicely landscaped, and fairly priced. We took advantage of the stay four nights/get one free which makes the stay very reasonable. Free Wi-Fi worked well, good cable, and the free "continental" breakfast are great touches. Road noise is noticeable at night but not too bad if running the air or fan and being close to I-40 allows easy access to town. A great park, we'll stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a find. We were very pleased with this park. The staff is the best that we have encountered in 2 years of full-timing. The sites are somewhat short, making it difficult to park your tow but this is greatly outweighed by the rest of our experience. Convenient to town but far enough out to avoid congestion. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to others. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a very nice campground...as nice as we've stayed in. We would definitely stay here again. The campground was clean, the sites were large enough with some nice size trees, and the WiFi worked. It was convenient off the interstate (yes, some noise) but the park made up for it. Our dog was delighted to have grass to potty in and the site was also level. They have a great 'store' with groceries and nice trinkets to take home. The free breakfast included waffles, cereal, bagels, etc. The pool closed at 7:00 pm. Breakfast is from 8-10. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is great! Everything is nice, clean, and safe. The free continental breakfast was good too. The staff was very friendly and even gave our daughter a few extra minutes to swim in the pool because we had just arrived. We liked this park so much that we made it a destination on our way back through New Mexico. We will no doubt stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for an overnight on our way to AZ. A nice campround right off I-40. All sites are paved and level, although somewhat short. We had just enough room for a 25 ft TT and fullsize truck. They have a nice pool and playground. The restroom and showers were nice. They had good Wi-Fi, although they only permit one connection per site. They have a free continental breakfast in the morning, which is a nice touch. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Price was a little steep, or I would have given it an 8. Friendly office staff, and Bill led me right to our spot on the golf cart. Decent-sized pull through, concrete is showing its age and is breaking apart/coming up in places. Very little grass, mostly large gravel/rocks where there is not concrete. Everything about this park is aging, the picnic table at our spot was barely worth sitting on (though I did see nicer tables at other sites). Good water pressure, and excellent 50 amp power. The dog run appears to consist of a big dirt lot that had a semi truck and a bunch of junk in it, I didn't even open the gate and explore it any further after seeing that. The continental breakfast was a nice offering, it featured good food. We stayed for one night passing through. I would stay again, probably not on a long-term basis but it is OK to use for a night. I would have felt better about staying there had the price been about $15 less. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park west of the city. Paved level sites with enough room between sites. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast every morning. There is some road construction that makes getting off the interstate and onto the frontage road somewhat difficult. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great value describes this professionally run campgrounds. A well maintained and well staffed campgrounds with concrete pads at site along with grass and trees. Sparkling restrooms and a two clean laundry rooms. Continental breakfast included. Only one mile from Camping World. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park, lots of spaces. Good paved roads and easy access to sites. Pool and spa were closed when we visited (too bad). Wireless signal was low and we had some difficulty connecting. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This RV park is excellent in all regards, except for the incredible Highway 40 noise. Wow. You hear every 18 wheeler and diesel rig going East. If you have a motorhome with a bedroom that is pretty isolated you will be fine - but NOT with a trailer with a window above the bed. Would I stay there again - not with my current rig. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Paved roads, easy access with our 40 footer. Sites were level and clean. The free WiFi worked well for us. Their free breakfast included hot waffles, bagels, toast, cereal, OJ, coffee and more all served in an excellent facility by very friendly folks. This is a first class operation. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is what a campground should be like. Very clean, good sites, great friendly staff, clean and ample room. Trees near the sites aren't intrusive. Free Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. They have a free continental breakfast every day and organize frequent events for the campers. My only complaint is that the dog park was nothing more than dirt. I definitely recommend this park to others and will return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The staff at this park is extremely helpful and friendly. One of the best. Having said that, the park and amenities are also very nice. We reserved a back-in site which was a little short for a 30' trailer and tow vehicle, making it neccessary to unhook the truck and park it at an angle. We will make it a point to stay at this park again, but we will reserve a pull-through site. The rate indicated was for a back-in site with Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice park. Typical for commercial RV park. Nice paving and free continental breakfast. A few long term but very clean and neat. Also a gift shop available. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We full time and travel a lot for our business. This is a GREAT place to stay. In the Southwest many of the parks, in this price range, are dusty and just a place to park. The staff and management seem to go out of their way to make this place special. Best laundry we have seen in a long time. 5 thumbs up. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Who cares about extra vegetation (it really is landscaped very well) when you can stay in a campground with level concrete pads, full hookups, free WI-FI, cable, clean, etc. This is our second time to stay here, and we drove an extra long time coming from the Grand Canyon to make this campground for two nights. Staff are friendly and helpful. Will be back to American RV. It is excellent. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
We stayed in this very nice park on our shakedown run with our new used 5th wheel. The park was very accommodating with our reservation and escort to site, even though we arrived shortly after the office was closed. The site was long enough for our 37' fifth wheel plus long bed crew cab pickup. Check their map for sites with an extra parking place included! The park was clean and well maintained. The landscaping is very nice considering the arid location. Unfortunately the wind blew horribly the entire time that we were there so we did not explore the facilities as much as we might have otherwise. The park was well run and quiet. Even though it is fairly close to I-40 we did not notice significant traffic noise. There is a good place to walk your dogs, although there are some goathead (puncture vine) stickers to watch out for. It is very close to the Route 66 Casino, which has a decent buffet and reasonable diesel fuel. The FJ Truckstop is even closer at the Unser exit (the next exit to the east). This is definitely the best facility in Albuquerque. I would have rated it higher had it not been in a very desolated area with little vegetation, but then this is New Mexico! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Easy access from I-40 with very adequate room on interior roads for large rigs. Quick check in with very friendly and helpful employees. Sites are mostly level but somewhat short. Utilities are located at the back of site causing difficulty in hooking up. Sewer connection is about 6 in. off ground making dumping very difficult. All areas of the park were very clean and well kept. Some road noise is noticeable from the interstate. Wi-Fi is very slow. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We have stayed in this park once before about four years ago. We find it to be much better than most in this area. Sites are nicely landscaped and level. Sites are a little short for longer units so you do have to drop your car. Good Wi-Fi, cable TV, a picnic table and concrete pad. Staff seemed to be friendly and helpful. Laundry area was clean and everything worked well. The breakfast was well attended and had several offerings. Easy acess off I-40 but it is west of town about 10 miles. The pool was closed for the season and the spa was closed indefinitely for repairs according to the sign in the office during our stay. We would stay again in this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were here almost 2 months--the "rate" was based on their monthly rate. Since we were here a while, the distance from town was not convenient. Overall the staff was friendly, but some were not (I guess that is expected when you have so many work-campers; there were a lot!--when I wanted to fill up with propane I checked into the office to let them know and they said someone would be right out. I was near the fill tank, but waiting for the person to come out and guide me the remaining 6 feet. I waited 20 minutes and went back in to find out when they would come out--the guy said "I'm not coming out there until you pull all the way into the fill station." Probably just me, but I thought that was not called for.). The monthly rate does not include the free continental breakfast. We have dogs and (natural for New Mexico) there were tons of stickers anywhere they could walk. The sites were level and not too close together. We are full-timers and were not sure how long we planned to stay, but were told that we could not check in without providing a departure date--so we made one up. The wi-fi was free when we arrived, but then they started charging for it. The service was intermittent--it constantly went down and kicked me off line. When we complained to the staff, they commented that it was noise and that was just the way it is with wi-fi. The Thanksgiving potluck in the clubhouse was a nice touch--they provided the turkey! We would stay here again. Even though it was a bit out of town, it seemed to be the nicest park in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We did not experience the rude people previously mentioned in reviews, in fact all of the staff were friendly and very helpful. The water connection is in the ground and very difficult to connect. The sites are short and have high curbing which makes it extremely difficult to maneuver with a tow. I scrapped my dolly on the curbing and damaged the stripping mechanism when leaving. You will have to unhook your tow because it will stick out in the road. Be careful when entering from I-40, as it is easy to miss the turn onto the frontage road and you will wind up back on I-40. The breakfast room was very clean and the breakfast was mediocre but it was free, so not much to complain about. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We used this park for an overnight stop and did not want to disconnect our tow vehicle. We did not encounter hostile staff at check-in as have others. The park is conveniently located near the freeway and has mature landscaping. The sites are closely spaced, maneuvering for a big rig is difficult and the utilities on the site are poorly located. The sewer connection is located at the extreme end of the site and since we were towing a car, we could not connect. The water connection is located in a box sunk below ground level and I didn't want to get down on hands and knees to remove the spider webs and connect. In our 40' bus conversion towing a Chevy pickup, we hung out several feet on each end of the site. I cannot see any way that a 45' bus, towing, could use this park, unless the tow vehicle was disconnected. In other words, not a good overnight stop for big rigs. Smaller motorhomes and trailers will probably find this park to be satisfactory but I cannot recommend it for big rigs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites are way too short. We requested a large pull through and were reassured that it would adequately handle our 36 foot fifth wheel and our truck. Well it didn't. It was barely big enough for our fifth wheel. So we had to unhook and park it in another area. The cable, which is new, is a joke. Maybe 8 channels. Overnight if you are desperate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I consider this to be the best RV park in my repertoire. The first time we went to this campground, we had been headed to the park across the Interstate that I had decided upon, after researching all the possibilities in the neighborhood from the vantage of the Internet. When we got there, the office was closed (well before closing time) without any after hours check-in instructions in evidence; there were street people hanging around out front; and the fulltime residents kind of stared at us like we were from outer space. We finally tracked down the manager who was busily engaged in a little ‘afternoon delight’. Seeing how he didn’t even want to come to the door and because this park was not measuring up to my expectations, at all, I invoked the ‘three strikes and your out’ rule. We jumped back in the truck and headed across the Interstate to the American RV Park. I’ve been happy about that turn of events ever since! The American RV Park is the rare ’10’ in my book. I’m even reluctant to review it since I’d rather keep the best to myself. Our full hookup, concrete pad, site cost $29 (under $31 after taxes). We also make a point of partaking in the complimentary continental breakfast served (8am to 10am) next to the office whenever we are there. Besides recouping a few dollars on coffee, waffles, and pastry, we usually meet lots of interesting people. No less interesting are the staff that have always been friendly and helpful to me beyond the call of duty. Most of them are working campers so there is a lot of turnover. We also use the campground’s free WIFI from our RV. You might need an entry code for the WIFI (inquire at the front desk when you check-in). The office has a gift shop and sells a very few groceries and RV supplies. There is also a new Camping World on the other side of the Interstate. The separate men and women’s sanitary facilities are marble tiled and, along with the laundry, are always in great shape. There is a nice little pool under the New Mexico sun and a clubhouse. The close proximity of the itinerate sites that we use to the Interstate has never been a problem for us. We have a pop-top truck camper but I don’t recall ever hearing noise from the traffic. I think the roadbed of the interstate is below the surrounding ground there so that probably attenuates the sound somewhat. The campground is attractive and resplendent with mature shade trees. Albuquerque is an interesting city so there are lots of attractions within range of the American RV Park. This park is our preferred base of operations for the greater Albuquerque area and is a good value to boot. The park’s asphalt roads are laid out in a grid near the Interstate so it is no challenge for big rigs to get to the park or move around inside. Note that Albuquerque, normally a civil town, becomes decidedly uncivil during the Balloon Fest when demands surge and prices around town skyrocket. Expect to suffer accordingly. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
They need to cut the grass and treat for ants. Wireless internet is poor. Most importantly, the staff (particularly the manager) is rude and not very helpful. We were screamed at for carrying a small maltese dog to check in. No sign is posted that says dogs are not allowed. One morning I asked the manager for a code for the internet which is needed, and I was told "get out, we are not open yet". He could have handed me a small piece of paper with the code on it, but he chose not to. We also witnessed customers being yelled at for "pulling into the wrong lane" at check in. How are we to know which lane is the correct one, since no signs are posted for check in. The park is a Legacy Park, which is a group of parks, and I will be contacting Legacy about the poor management and staff at this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
All that friendly staff must have taken the day off. The facilities are excellent, the staff was terrible. Honestly, they were the rudest we've ever dealt with. Nice park, good sites, good pool, but the staff was poor. As an example: at the entrance there are two lanes to check in. There was a rig in each lane (we in our short MH were in one lane, a truck and trailer in the other). A large MH pulled in and aimed for our lane (more room). The "escort" jumped out of his golfcart and made the guy get into the other lane, leaving his toad blocking the exit. The escort seemed very angry he would pick the shorter lane? He actually yelled at the guy! Fortunately, he didn't feel the need to talk to us at all, just pointed at our site without slowing down. The rest of the staff was comparable. A campground that could be very nice, that we will never stay at again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice campground and friendly staff. Nice playground for the kids. Paved level sites. Nice pool. Access to the highway is excellent and the noise is not bad at all. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park about 8 miles west of town and easy access to I-40. The staff was friendly and the facilities were clean. The sites were gravel, had good shade and were level. Camping world is located across the freeway which was convenient. This is a good park to stay at while touring the Albq/Santa Fe attractions. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed for four nights at this park (fifth night is free when you stay for 4 nights but unfortunately we could only stay for the 4 nights). Staff was friendly and helpful. Had a nice pull thru site with full hookups. Sites are nicely landscaped with some trees and nice grass area for each site. Nice swimming pool area with a hot tub. Campground offered free breakfast every morning which include coffee, OJ, coffee cakes, cereal, bagels, toast, and waffles. Stay was thoroughly enjoyable. Only negative was some noise from the nearby interstate but it was not too bad. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We spent a week here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check in by a very professional staff was quick and we were escorted to our paved, level site which had a patio and picnic table. We had an end site, with large shade trees and landscaped grass, and the hookups were conveniently located. Cable TV was being installed while we were there, and the free WiFi generally worked well. On two occasions when it failed, a call to the office resulted in it being restored within 30 minutes. The free continental breakfast is a nice touch, just don't expect more than cereal, bagels, and frozen waffles. The gift shop is unusually well stocked; whoever does the buying has great taste. Overall, this is a very well run operation that provides a great stay for a moderate price. We'll stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is all new for 07. Real nice, clean, and VERY friendly staff!! Pool and spa, many recreational areas, very family friendly. Cable TV will be available in about 2 months. Sites were paved and lots of grass and trees. Very clean throughout. We stayed here going East and stopped here on the way back! Highly recommended for overnight or for a few days to see the sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We reserved a month at this park, based largely on the advertised availability of pool, hot tub, and free WiFi. Upon arrival we were told that the pool and hot tub were closed. For the first 2 weeks neither the pool nor hot tub was available due to repairs on pool. There was never a satisfactory explanation given as to why the hot tub was closed since it was located in a separate enclosed building. After 2 weeks they opened the hot tub, but delayed almost a week longer before opening the pool. The free WiFi was very flaky with frequent drop outs and speed changing erratically from good to a fraction of dial-up for no apparent reason. We asked the management about these problems and were told that they don’t understand WiFi. We then asked if we could contact the provider and were told that was not permitted. We did move to a site closer to the access point after a few days which improved access and reduced the number of drop outs. When questioned further about the problems with the WiFi, the manager responded, “What do you expect for free”. All in all, the management was non-accountable and cavalier. We eventually re-oriented our roof-mounted, directional antenna towards the adjacent park (High Desert RV Park) and paid for real WiFi provided by NomadISP. Be aware that this park charges for propane on the basis of your tank size regardless of how much propane is added! We suggest you fill your tanks at High Desert RV Park next door where they charge according to the quantity of propane added. On the positive side, the overall landscaping was very nice and the facilities such as toilets and showers were nice. In summary, if you do not require WiFi and have no need to interact with the management, the park is pleasant although overpriced. We will not stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
All roads are blacktop, sites are very nice with cement or gravel pads. All sites are level, hookup's are in correct place, table, trees from site to site. WiFi was free and worked very well. Complimentary breakfast from 8:00 to 10:00 am was good. Bathrooms and showers were spotless. Some road noise from I-40 but was not a problem. No camp fires here. Staff was nice at check in and we received no static from anyone. We think this park is the best one in Albuquerque and we will return in future. Cable TV would be nice on all sites, only small number have it now. Other parks close by cost less but you receive less in turn. Flying-J two miles from here for fuel and super Wal-Mart around four miles for your needs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
For the services and amenities available, this park is overpriced. There is no cable, the WIFI is inconsistent, everything closes down at 6 PM, and some of the staff is rude. The ladies in the front office are efficient and polite, but the older males who do the escorting and outdoor maintenance were rude to my wife and daughter on two occasions. We will not return here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice and clean campground. Sites are spaced a little close together for my liking, but easy to get in and out of. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Large, well-established RV park on the far west side of Albuquerque. Easy off & on I-40. We have always stayed & been very pleased with American RV, but this year we were rather disappointed. This is another case of the owners changing a former pay-service to a “free amenity”, which is supposed to be a “favor” to the guests. Not in this case – the “free” WiFi didn’t work worth a hoot. I understand that this is not an important issue for many of you – but for those of you who care about quality of the WiFi signal & service, take heed. We’d much rather pay for something that works than have a freebie that doesn’t. Moving on … The park has lovely, mature landscaping and beautifully maintained grounds. The streets are paved with asphalt and the wide, level sites are cement. Each site has an attached adjacent parking area – some of the parking areas are not quite long enough, forcing angled parking. The streets are in need of some resurfacing, falling victim to the typical deterioration that happens in desert climates. The spaces are amply wide and there are no side-by-side hook ups. There are several “premium sites” equipped with instant-on phone, cable TV and charcoal grills. (Surprisingly enough, this park does not offer cable TV on a park-wide basis.) The excellent maintenance extends to the laundry, office and restrooms. The swimming pool was closed during our visit (March 3 – 12). A Continental breakfast is offered daily and served in a charmingly decorated clubhouse area (adjacent to the office). Nicely stocked gift/supply shop in the office area. Propane available on-site. No garbage pick-up at the site, not even at the “premium” sites - only 4 widely-spaced dumpsters for the entire park. The majority of the 188 sites are pull-throughs and are big-rig friendly. All-in-all, this is a very nice park, it is very clean, lots of mature trees and nearby shopping. There are several of the usual discounted rates available (Good Sam, 4 days, 5th day free and so forth.). The park has recently added several nicely designed, furnished lodges that will sleep 8 – 10 people, a great way to share the Balloon Festival with family or friends. [Note: If you’re planning on attending the Festival, you can’t make reservations early enough. The place fills up completely in spite of the hefty “festival rates” (which are double the regular rate).] We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I had stayed here before, but this trip was very disappointing. No cable available. The hot tub closed at 6 pm and their excuse, we just don't have the staff... yada yada... but they charge the same rates. "Free" breakfast starts at 8 am, but most early birds leave before then. The park next door offers a no frills deal for half the price. That may be the better deal. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
My family came in just before sundown and were escorted to our site. They had a polite staff that was very helpful. There bathrooms were immaculately clean and very warm. Given the winter weather we stayed in our travel trailer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Truly is the nicest park in Albuquerque, although that isn't saying a lot. Only park with grass and spaces were large - no problem getting our 40' motorhome and toad into a pull-thru site. Strange hours - 10 to 6. Pool and spa are only open during office hours. WIFI is available but for $$. However, we were able to pickup a free hotspot in the park. Bathrooms clean - although they run out of hot water frequently. Sante Fe is a much nicer city than Albuquerque so we would stay there next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy access - park is clean, and they have a very nice continental breakfast. We have stayed there many times - our favorite in Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I was trying to figure out if the last reviewer had stayed at the same park. Staff were very friendly and accommodating even though we arrived early for our reservation just after the Balloon Festival. There were numerous grassy areas where pets could be walked, we didn't experience any of the problems with burrs because it wasn't necessary to walk our pets outside the park. Everything was well maintained and clean. Lovely clubhouse, nice laundry, and nicely stocked souvenirs in store. We would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park; we were in a 40 ft. motorhome, towing a car, but unhooked the car before arriving at the park, and were glad we did. Without the toad, the interior roads were plenty big enough. Very pleasant staff; we came here for the balloon festival, and the shuttle service was great! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Spaces are tight for large motorhome and toad. Depending on who is on duty in office, either very cooperative, or not willing to take any extra time. You are escorted to site which is a plus. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stopped here for overnight stay. Well kept park and good staff. I would stay here if in the Albuquerque area for an extended visit. Not far off the interstate but noise is not noticeable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A nice park with mostly pull-thru sites; streets and sites a little narrow for some big rigs - we were definitely glad we had unhooked our tow vehicle up front while checking in. To enjoy WiFi on your site there was a fee of $2.95/hr or $5.95/day so I decided not to use it and connected with my cell phone after 9PM. Staff were all friendly, store was well-stocked with gift items, and the continental breakfast was complimentary - thanks! We might consider going back - offering free WiFi and the USA Today newspaper would make a big difference in our decision. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Staff was very unfriendly We camped here in a Motorhome.

I called several days before my reservation and easily made the reservation. Nothing was mentioned about a 2 day reservation cancellation policy. I found the park in the "Big Rig" RV Park Guide that was given to me by my dealer. As my trip unfolded, I was not going to be able to stay in Albuquerque as planned. I called 9 hours before the "normal" 6:00pm reservation deadline, when a reservation is guaranteed via credit card. I was told that I could not be given a refund on the $30 reservation hold fee because they had a 2 day cancellation policy. I later checked their web site and found no mention of a 2 day reservation cancellation fee. I am sure this is a great park, given the previous reviews, just make sure you either cancel before their hidden deadline or go ahead and use your reservation. Also, "Wi-Fi Available" means there is a charge to use the wireless internet. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice, clean, but too many trees. No Cable TV and attendant said that the TV antenna would get all the local stations which she said was 5 as I remember. Well the reception was so bad I could only get one station and that was very poor. They do not allow any trailers (as would be towed behind a Motorhome) in the park. You had to put it in their storage yard. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park. Clean pools and bathrooms. Nice playground for the kids. Helpful Staff. Nice level sites. Shopping close by. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was best RV park we stayed in. The restrooms were very clean and they also provided a continental breakfast. The staff was very nice and very helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
It was a great location for us, as we like casinos, and this park, just off I-40 and Historic 66 is close to many! The people who work at the park, mostly work campers, were very friendly and helpful. The comments about the park are accurate (cleanliness, dog run, space,etc.). They are also in the process of building a huge building, next to the office and pool, which will further their quest toward peak amenities, as well as adding a gate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I'm working a traveler RN contract at an Albuquerque hospital thus had reservations for a 6 month stay. Most of the "monthlys" are in the back row or along the fence. The only maintenance of grounds was in the overnight areas, until Balloon Fiesta time. Some sites do not have phone accessibility. Dead bushes and trees along the fence. Best sites are in the front.Staff, for the most part, nice; but if you need help of any kind, don't ask. Some of staff outright rude. Guides to your site available, but won't stay to assist in parking your rig if you need it. Dog lovers have to constantly pick sand burrs and goat heads out of dog feet. Otherwise, this is a scenic spot, close to everything you need, easy off and on I-40. I would not return to this park for an extended stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Don't expect a pull-thru to allow you to keep your tow vehicle to remain hooked up. My only complaint. Otherwise great. Continental breakfast daily. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed in this campground in a 34 footer. The campsites were close but reasonable. Most campsites had trees and grass along with a picnic table. The facilities were clean and in good repair. They charge for Wi-Fi but have free Wi-Fi available in the office. There was road noise but in our opinion it was acceptable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Ths is a very nice RV Park. It's clean, well organized, has lots of shade trees, reasonable spaced sites, level concrete pads, nice laundry and a pretty good free continental breakfast. If they made the dog run a little better with some grass and offered free WiFi instead f charging for it, I would have given it a 10. After looking at all the other Albuquerque RV options, we found this to be the best and at a fair price. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice shade trees, pretty good grass, very friendly staff. Sites are paved, you're guided to the site, and the free contintental breakfast is good. While RV washing is not allowed, we saw a roving RV wash truck doing some impressive work at $6 a linear foot (wash) or $8 (wash/wax). Wish we'd seen him sooner. Only downside is the highway noise from I-40. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice campground, clean, nicely landscaped but no cable except in executive sites. Their spots for parking at the laundry are very small for large trucks so I wound up going out to a laundromat instead. We would stay here again, very convenient to downtown,Old Town and Route 66, fairly close to grocery stores, about 1 hr to Santa Fe. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The park was well kept and the employees were very helpful. As stated, the park is located off of the Interstate, but the traffic noise was not an issue for us. This was an overnight stop, but would not hesitate to stay here again. Plus, a Camping World just opened on the other side of the Interstate. There is a charge for the WiFi. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park is beautiful and the staff is professional. But the sites are very short and narrow by todays standards. We have a 40' rig and had the park been full, I don't know how we would have gotten out of our space. We had to drive through other sites in order to navigate our rig. That's due to their curbs, not our lack of driving experience. Also, a big no no, they charge for WiFi by the hour or day. That is totally unacceptable. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent park. Great staff. Laundry facilities very good. Must purchase WIFI service or use computers in office. Lots of shade. Have stayed here previously. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed for 6 nights. Nice clean park. Has shade and some grass. Small patios with picnic tables. Nice pool with an indoor hot tub. Asphalt streets. Some sites have gravel; some have concrete for parking RV. Free continental breakfast daily! Wi-fi with Linkspot fees and some limited free access at office. Friendly, helpful management. No cable but local Albuquerque channels are available. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We only stayed one night, because we had been out West and on our way back to Florida. This is one of the best campgrounds we have found, with even a complimentary breakfast from 8-10. There have concrete pads (level) and the people in the office are helpful, friendly and cared if our stay was okay. We will be back to this campground when back in the area, and highly recommend it. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
A beautiful, well kept park. There is a charge for Wi-Fi and in order to get cable you must be on a "premium" site. A light breakfast is free of charge. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean, though quite militant about dogs. Dogs must be kept inside the trailer, and walked directly to the pet area and then back to the trailer. Sign out front says they're against islamic terrorism (does that mean other kinds of terrorism are ok?). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Clean & well kept. Do get some noise from I-40. Free breakfast available. Real friendly at check in. Quite a few "permanent residents", but they were fine. Bath & showers seemed a bit odd, with a door to a Central room, and then coed rooms off of that? Females were a bit hesitant to use them. Seemed a bit expensive, but we spent 2 nights & would come back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The sites are on the small end of the spectrum for a large rig, but will work. The hook-ups are good and the sites are landscaped with rock and small trees. There is a pool and hot tub and the office has a good store. We stayed here a month and would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived for the Balloon Fiesta so the rates were much higher than I entered above. No
Good Sam discounts are taken during this time! Is that legal with Good Sam? The sites "look" nice until you have to back into them. There is this nice looking curbing that in reality is just there to destroy your tires. I am talking very little room for error! Yes I am good at backing. All the sites are small and very close together so your extra vehicle (tow or towed) has no room to park at the site. The streets are also narrow so I had to get other RVers to move their vehicles so I could back in. We were told they had cable so I asked for the top of the line site when I made my reservations months ago. Well, no cable at our little site. It was only for long term guest. We were told that the antenna worked great but due to the untrimmed trees, we couldn't raise it. After being told they couldn't trim the trees, I talked to someone else and they came and trimmed them using my fiver to reach the limbs. We left several days early but couldn't get a refund although several other RVer told us they wanted to stay longer but were told there were no site available. This was after I told them I was leaving. I imagine they rerented our site at the elevated rate and doubled their income. We would not stay here again! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Confused by the reviews of this park: I *loved* it, and consider it the best park I've been to. The only negative I can think of is moderate freeway noise if you're near the front of the park. Paved sites with landscaping, swimming pool, hot tub, basketball court, playground, WiFi internet, great rec room, etc, etc... All of this was topped with excellent management staff. I stayed here a week, and would be happy to stay a month: will certainly return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

After extensive review we decided to stay at this park enroute to AZ. On checkin we agreed on an executive site as it had a live phone hook up and cable. We then made our way through the maze of vehicles parked in the roadway to our assigned
site to find some one else in it. Another drive through the maze back to the office. We were given another site only it was a back in site. After manuvering I finally got into the site and found I would need an extension ladder to get into my 5er. Back to the office where I was given another pull through and after driving to it there sat a $75K MDT in my spot. Well I wasn't going back to the office again so I set down on the horn. About 5 min. later here came the wicked witch of the west to move the truck, all the time wishing I was elsewhere. And after all the park was not all it was supposed to be ie, pot holes, unmowed grass, rocks used as sewer caps and no room between trailers. I would rate this park a 1 except that through all this the clerks were civil. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

All the amenities including level, paved sites. Very clean restrooms and showers. Would be a 10 if it was
more distant from I-40 traffic noise all night. We camped here in a camper.
This park should be ashamed of it's self. It was very hard to find. It is located on a split road so if you are on the wrong side, you end up in a residential neighborhood with very small streets. Our GPS put us here. The turn into the driveway is very tight with iron gates and brick walls to run into. There is no sign to tell you where the front gate is. The speed humps are often and very high. The RV Park is located in the back of the property and is all gravel. This is a mobile home park and should stick to that description. The office staff is very unfriendly showed no interest in us as we walked all around the office and pool area. She never said anything to us. The sites are gravel with no shade. If you want cable, you have to leave a deposit for at box from the office. We would not stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
All gravel. Truck and trailer sunk in gravel 2" when I pulled in. Big speed bumps. Frequent sewer smell. We stayed here for 10 nights and worked the Balloon Fest. We had early wake up and depart hours for work and was able to get adequate rest. Campground was quite. Unlikely that we will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for the Balloon Festival as it was within a couple miles of the event. As mentioned in previous reviews, this park is completely gravel and when I say gravel, I mean lots and lots of gravel. It rained one of the nights we were there and our jacks sunk into the gravel and caused the RV to lean. There was no grass anywhere for our little dog. They have speed bumps everywhere and one was so large our jacks dragged on it. This was one of the worst parks we've stayed at. The rate of $69 was the Balloon Festival price and completely ridiculous. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed the month of Oct. The owner put nothing back in to the park. Sewer gets backed up every week. Restrooms need updating, spa and sauna not working. People come in with their rigs and bring three or four cars with them. They park any where they want. The only good thing going for the owner are the two maintenance guys:Macho and Bob. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
TL Directory gave this RV park a 6.5 for an attractiveness rating. I don't believe that their staff has been to this park for quite a while. We stayed here based only on its central location. When we called to make reservations, we were not told that the usual road to the RV park was under construction and closed. It was quite a feat to get to the park. Most of the park's inhabitants seemed to be long-term folks and many of the RVs were very rundown and crummy with junk outide of their RVs. The park grounds were loaded with dog excrement. Most of the hook-ups were side-by-sides which meant you were very close on one side to your neighbor. The sites were gravel with a paved patio but no picnic table was provided. The interior roads were mostly graveled and not paved as TL Directory stated. We felt like we were in a trashy mobile home park. The pool was closed for some unknown reason and the hottub was available only in the winter. The park is located in a very shakey part of Albuquerque with empty lots with junk in them and rundown buildings and shacks. We just kept our shades closed with the air conditioner running so we did not have to look out the window. Their is no view!!! This RV park needs a lot of TLC. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This a mobile home community with some sites available to RVs. LONG (apx 1 hr) check-in procedure w/14-page legal-size 30 day lease, over 30 would require credit report so we did 30 & then "renewed" for second 30 & the for additional 11 days. Utilities not configured for RV, water & sewer poorly located, natural gas connection in way of back-in (we parked on concrete patio instead of on dirt beside it). Water hydrant in hole in ground (would have been under RV). 3" sewer pipe non-standard for RV connection (would have been behind RV). Large round hole where electric used to be underground would have been under RV. Sloped 2ft or more to rear. Lots of red ants. Mail via USPS, but took nearly 3 weeks to get mail box key. Most rules are commonly broken: 1 pet limit, barking dogs, dogs running loose, firecrackers, 2 car limit but up to 7 cars at some sites. Free WIFI available only in clubhouse. Observed police action in park 3 times plus private security 2 times during 10 week stay. On checkout were told est 4-6 weeks to get remaining portion of deposit back after final electric reading. In midst of all their RV-unfriendly "stuff," they had a very supportive staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very cramped park on busy city streets. The campsites are so small that we hear every cough and conversation around us. There are no restrooms or showers, or cable TV. Neighborhood dogs make lots of noise, and there is a light smell of someone's black water tank in the air. The only electrical hook-up is 50 amp, so if you have a 20 or 30 amp vehicle you will need a converter cable. If you don't have the converter, the campground will lend you one for a $25.00 cash deposit (which is returned when you return the cable). There is very little space to be outside. We were parked right up against the back sides of two trailers. Most of the sites here are filled by apparently permanent residents. This is definitely a mobile home park, not an RV park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
El Rancho is a very nice Mobile Home Park. It is an oasis in the desert with many trees lining its winding streets. Many of the lots have little picket fences and look quite nice. There is a wall around the park which helps isolate it from the surrounding area. El Rancho is not an RV Park so don't expect public showers and toilets and things of that nature. It's a Mobile Home Park. There are only a couple of RV spots available. The spots are not pull throughs, but the guys who work at El Rancho are super nice and will get you into your spot. We arrived after hours and they spent at least an hour helping us and even came back the next morning to make sure we were okay. They got our power stepped down from 50 to 30 amp, our water hooked up, our LP gas was empty and they helped us with that. They even fixed our door which had jammed. I am so thankful that we stopped here. It made the whole rest of our trip that much better. The people that you meet on your travels can really make your trip. These two special people at the El Rancho Mobile Home Park made our trip a much more pleasant experience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park located in BAD neighborhood. Lots of pedestrian traffic outside park late at night. Beggars knocked on my door at 6 am, there is no security personnel in park. Police sirens wailing every 2 hours, loud bass bumps from street traffic, foul, cursing neighbors in mobile home park across brick/barb wire wall. Neighbors in 5th wheel asked if I had an electric spike like they did?!? No laundry or bathhouse onsite & local laundromats overrun with grubby kids. Management reports owner will not pay for grounds kept up, so manager tries to pass that cost on to residents. Sites overrun with ants and tree debris. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very much enjoyed my month at this park. Lots of trees and green grass, the staff and the people in the park are friendly and helpful. It's situated one block off a main avenue (Historic Route 66) but sits back in a nice neighborhood. Central Ave (Route 66) is coming back strong. There is a lot of new growth all up and down the boulevard and I like the fact that there is convenient shopping with a selection of new and established restaurants close by. The park is clean with gravel sites and concrete pads. I will definitely be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a mobile home park for local residents or renters that has RV spaces. Main reason to stay here is convenient location to the city and Expo center, but the surrounding commercial area is rundown. Don't be surprised to hear sirens. Park interior has many nice shade trees and grass + gravel sites, but they are difficult to back into. Roads are narrow and have numerous parked cars in the way, but a very nice guy does an expert job of guiding. Watch out for the high speed bumps when walking around at night. There are NO bathrooms, NO showers, NO laundry so this place never deserves a high rating. It's not even a true RV park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
If you're looking for all the frills this is not the place, but if you're looking for good folks, trees, shade and grass it is. This is a mobile home park in transit to an RV park. The place is clean and neat as a pin, the roads are adequate and the site size will fit most any rig. The other guests will assist you in backing in and setting up if the hosts are busy. The express bus stop [$.35 for Seniors] to downtown and Old Town is 1/2 block away. Many restaurants and small shops are within walking distance. We highly recommend this operation as the people are great and more importantly the hosts actually enjoy their job. We will return frequently. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Absolutely great, small, RV park in the middle of Albuquerque. Place was clean and quiet. Management helpful and cooperative. A very good place to stay a few nights. Handy to historic Albuquerque, and shopping. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed a couple months in 2006 returned in September 2007. Nice, quiet, secure and very clean park. Manager and staff were friendly and helpful. Large spaces had patio, grass yard and wasn't dusty like parks on the west side of town. Was able to get 4 bars on the Wi-Fi signal. When we stayed for a couple months the yard was taken care of by the park. Since the rent was so cheap we just paid the maintenance man twenty bucks a month to water and mow it when whew stayed for a year. Didn't have to move out during the balloon fiesta. Managers keep a good eye on the place and tenants, don't allow noise, make sure pets are picked up after and don't allow kids to run all over the place. For us older folks it was a great location to where all we needed to go. We'll be returning in August. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is mostly used by their permanent residents, but they have several spots available for rv'ers. No shower; no bathroom; no laundry. The neighborhood is quite noisy, as two major streets run down two sides of the half-block-square area. I think there are around 80 spots total. At night, however, it's quiet enough for a good, sound sleep. Long-term visitors (over one month) are expected to water/mow their grass. I found the managers to be very friendly and helpful, and their handyman is a delight - very helpful and accommodating. The single most attractive thing about the place is its proximity to everything - you can get just about anywhere in the city in around 20 minutes! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is well maintained. Lots of trees. Quiet and safe even though it is located in a high crime area. Good sized spaces. Some have grass which you are expected to water and cut. Many permanent residences. Management is unfriendly and un-accommodating. We almost didn't go there because we were made to feel unwelcome but once we went in we were there for a year. Management nickel and dimes everything. Charges extra for an indoor pet, extra car, not mowing your grass, etc. Parking is sparse. Water may be shut off without notice. They claim to have WiFi but it is totally useless since it doesn't reach 50 feet from the office. Management knows but won't spend the money to fix it. $100 discount for 6 mo lease. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We spent two weeks here, the price reflects some sort of PA discount for the first week. Park is all gravel, sites fairly level and of an adequate size. We were on A street and the sewer hookups were 10.5" above the ground!! My husband thought that was very odd. The pool is still not open. There was really no place to walk our dog. Right next door to Camping World but no direct access. Must walk out of park, down a busy road to get there. The freeway noise was negligible. The laundry facilities were clean and reasonable. We made a couple of day trips and found the park fairly central to the things we wanted to see. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not so sure we would stay here again if the opportunity arose because we had friends who stayed in a park directly across the freeway that was all paved. Something to be said for that. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Positives was that it was 10 miles from Old Town, our main destination and friendly people. Pool wasn't open yet. Since there were so many people here the Internet was very slow. Restrooms were clean and had plenty of hot water and water pressure although somewhat dated and dark. Would stay again if the pool were open. Our site (B10) needed blocks one one side because slope was too much. Others looked more level. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Used mostly as an overnight park its just off I-40 at the western most portion of town. Dirt roads. Price reflects Passport America price good for 2 nites. Camping World is next door for parts or service. Wi-Fi good. Over the air TV great. They have vintage restored travel trailers for spotted and hooked up for motorists to rent, furnished with old blankets towels etc. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a large quiet park with ample space in the roadways and RV sites. One convenience is that Camping World is right next door. Office staff is very helpful. The park is about 12 miles west of central Albuquerque, on the frontage road for Interstate 40 which makes it pretty quick to get anywhere in the city. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a sandy desert campground, west of Albuquerque off I-40 and about 10 miles from I-25. It is convenient to the National Petroglyph Monument, which has literally hundreds of petroglyphs. It is next-door to Camping World, but it is not close to restaurants or other amenities. There is a small selection of Route 66 memorabilia for sale at the office. We did not use the showers, but the laundry room was adequate. The free Wi-Fi is painstakingly slow, propane is available ($), there is a pool (closed in the winter), a TV and billiards room, but recycling is not available. At $25 (with Good Sam discount), it is a decent choice if you plan to visit Albuquerque. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Typical desert campground, most of the pull through sites are "buddy" sites, where your entry faces your neighbor. Poor Virgin mobile and the park WiFi is very fast, but very intermittent and very frustrating. Facilities work well. Our site was not very level. Handy with Camping World next door. We would stay here again. Rate is PA. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very friendly staff and clean facilities. Level gravel sites. Lots of dust, but this is the desert. Came for 4 days. Stayed for 8! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a nice RV park with clean facilities. The rate quoted is Passport America rate. The sites are gravel and the day we arrived there was a sand storm so there was lots of sand around too. The washrooms were very clean. It would probably have been nicer but the wind kind of ruined everything for us. For the price we paid it was an excellent deal so we would probably stay there again for an overnight like this. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was an okay stop 8 miles west of downtown on I-40. Camping World is next door. Good news is Camping World is next door. Bad news is you have to walk around a security fence through scrub land along the highway to get there. That, or drive. Other bad news is that the CW complex has obliterated which at one time must've been a fabulous view of the Sangre de Cristo mountains/Sandia Peak to the east. Progress? We got a 20% Good Sam discount and their "winter rate" of $24. Neat display of vintage camper/trailers from the fifties. Restrooms were clean and well-heated. Sites were wide, sand/gravel. If the wind was blowing hard, this would be a tough place to spend time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park with plenty of space between campers. Good antenna TV! level pull through sites and propane for sale on premises. Casino is about 7 miles down the road. Good location for staying in Albuquerque and the price is super! This is our second stay here and very satisfied! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Our first time in New Mexico and we picked the best spot. Close to I-40 so getting anywhere was a breeze: especially the Balloon Fiesta. A little pricey but that was fiesta price. Actually lower than anywhere else at the time. Large gravel area, clean and really nice staff. Coming back from AZ we stopped again but with no special event, the price was $10.00 a night with Coast to Coast. Loved this park! Thanks so much. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
PPA Rate. Historic Route 66 Resort with vintage RV's for rent. Staff is friendly and helpful. We did not use the laundry, the pool is closed for the winter. Sites are mostly level gravel drive thru with full hook-ups. There is some shade. No CTV but good "on-the-air" reception. Free Wi-Fi and our Clear wireless devices and cell phones had strong signals. Camping World is next door. Easy access to I-40 at exit 149. We enjoyed the history of Route 66 and the Resort in the museum plus the vintage cars and RV's. This is a pleasant stop and we would return here when in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We spent one night here. Our Verizon internet card had full bars with 3G. Verizon phones had the same. Our site was level. There is a Camping World store next to the campground. This is a Passport America and Good Sam campground. Although we stopped here two days after the Balloon Fiesta we were denied the half-off discount. We were told it wouldn't be in effect until the next day and said so on their webpage. Be sure to call ahead if you are expecting a discount. The bathrooms were clean. I probably would stay here for an overnight stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park was very clean. Front desk people were very nice. Well taken care of. However, I was with a large group of other campers and told my partial site would be 20 something a night. When I went to pay I was told I had to pay 44 something a night because someone didn't show up. Cost was not what I was quoted on the phone. Because of this, I will camp somewhere else next time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Not my most favorite park. It had the usual crushed stone and low hanging tree in middle of road. Site we were given was very unlevel. Should probably have complained but by moving around I was able to get level enough so slides worked and tires were not in the air. What was frustrating is that some new crushed stone would have solved the problem. Just frustrating that owners won't take the time to check wear on the sites. Once again a smaller coach would not notice the unlevelness. The pull throughs were also side by sides; not my most favorite. Probably would try across the street next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice RV park, the staff are very friendly and courteous. At the front of the park they have a number of old renovated classic trailer, they rent them out, fun to look at. There is a pool, was clean. Gravel roads and pull-throughs, they are level, wide and have table for your use. The roads are wide and it's easy to drive in and out. This is our second time here, would come back again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Rate reflects PA rate. This is a nice overnight park, especially for the price. Roads were wide and so were sites. Both packed gravel. Not much shade, could be hot but we had a cool day. Interesting history to the location and buildings and lots of Route 66 historical memorabilia. Have some wonderful vintage trailers for rent. Water and electric were good. Wi-Fi was weak but Verizon card worked well as did AT&T 3G. Includes cable. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a clean, quiet park. Sites are close to level, have little to no shade, and are a mix of gravel and dirt. Roads are wide, gravel, and in good condition. Staff are friendly and helpful. Verizon data service is good. The rate is with AAA discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park with lots of spaces. Sites and roads were gravel but in good shape. Vintage RV’s and cars around. Did not use the showers or restrooms. Wi-Fi work good. Easy to/from the Interstate. Has some shaded spots. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Called ahead to check for vacancy, since rvparkreviews.com seemed to have good reviews, and we were in need of a Camping World store (right next door). What a quaint little park, straight out of the 1950’s. Cool old trailers for rent (in-place) and great décor in the community building, and a resident cow wandering the grounds to nibble on the rare vegetation. Good Wi-Fi. Decent laundry, although they could use a change machine. My daughter refused to use their showers, claiming they were disgusting, but we didn’t inspect ourselves to verify. She has used showers in many RV parks, so I have to take her word for it. There is a traditional full-bathroom with a tub (and shower-aid equipment) near the billiard room and laundry which seemed acceptable to me. We didn’t use the pool, but someone was checking the chemistry in the morning, so that’s a good sign that it “may” be maintained. The lot is very dusty, and your shoes and/or socks are going to get messy just walking to the main building. If it were windy or rainy it may be a problem. Not a lot of shade, but I pulled the picnic table under our awning. It was a good place for an overnight, just west of the city. It is also the only place I have encountered that gives the Camp Club USA discount in the summer. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We are very happy with this park, and plan to return. It's convenient for us as a stopover between AZ and CO, a trip we make frequently, and is right off of I-40. It's next door to Camping World, and about 6 miles (down a frontage road) to the Route 66 Casino. We've seen some complaints that the sites are gravel, but hey, this is New Mexico high desert! There are trees and good space. The bathrooms are older, but clean. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. No noise issues. The vintage cars/trailers are great...check their website for a virtual tour! Rate reflects Camp Club USA discount. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
There are some vintage campers and cars in the park. Pretty unique. Passport America Campground so the price was right. The pool and hot tub were refreshing and partly shaded. Friendly staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A real neat little 50's RV park! Located next to Camping World and it looked like it was right out of mom and dad's era! Restrooms and showers clean and neat and a great pool and spa. Nice store and the real treat was the registration clerk had a theater organ hidden in the recreation room. He played the organ during the evening and the stop was very enjoyable. Great value for the money spent. We will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy access to interstate. Sites are long but close together and they have this odd method of putting coaches door to door which makes it feel even more tight. Internet was very fast. Camping World is within walking distance as is a Freighliner place. Not much to do there unless you love heat and dust in the summertime. OK place for an overnight or two. Place does have some cool nostalgic cars and campers. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very nice, friendly park. Wi-Fi was excellent, would have rated a 10 if only there was cable TV available. Very clean, laundromat was good. The old campers and autos were a pleasant plus... We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A sweet Route 66 park located just west of Albq where the owner welcomed us! Park has a great nostalgic feeling with vintage Route 66 collectibles. Also has a Mighty Wurlitzer which was played for us during our stay. Wi-Fi is supreme if you need to keep in touch. Property was clean and orderly. Nice pool, hot tub. Will definitely stop by again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Rate was based on Passport America. Very nice office staff. Only two suggestions: needs gravel and trim up the trees over roads. They are too low. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We just stayed for one night but would not have minded staying longer. Despite what others have said, Wi-Fi at my site was 2.2 mb. Wind did create dust as people drove by. Pool is cool, but felt good as it was hot out. Cute park with with old trailers and old cars. Electricity seemed good. FYI: Diesel at casino 8 miles away was cheapest around! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
WiFi virtually impossible to connect to. Entire park was rock on sand. Staff not very friendly. Location on hill outside town right next to I-40. Coast to Coast member rate. Left one day early and will not be returning. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very convenient park when traveling through the Albuquerque area. Right off the interstate, but you don't hear the noise. Its on the west side of town, so its great if you are heading west and want a quick and easy get-away. We had a pull through and didn't have to disconnect to we got an early start in the morning. The sites are gravel, so it can get a bit dusty. The rate reflects the PA discount. We had no trouble getting around the park and into our site in our 40' rig. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A must for Route 66 travelers, this RV park has some interesting roadside history and fun antiques, including several antique RVs they rent on-site, although I don’t think they’ll let you leave with them. The park has a rural feel, but is only about 10 miles to Old Town Albuquerque. Relatively not congested Historic 66. It’s right next to Camping World and right off of I-10. On a still night, you might have some road noise, but all we heard was the wind blowing. The whole place is gravel, but it’s round gravel, so if you put your jacks down without fairly large pads underneath, the rocks shift. Although the sites are not excessively unlevel, we had a heck of a time fine-tuning our jacks. They have a nice mix of shaded and satellite-friendly sites, a small on-site laundry, a pool table, a souvenir shop. Overall, a good park at a good price when using PPA, but a little high at full price. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Price reflects Passport America weekly rate. Gravel roads with gravel and sand sites. FHU pull-through site with 30 amp electric. Conveniently located near I-40 and I-25. We were here in Spring and it was windy and dusty. They had Wi-Fi at the site, but it was rather slow. Camping World located next door. This RV park has some vintage campers and Route 66 items on display. Friendly staff. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Love this campground. Nicely appointed, run by friendly people, very easy to pull in and out of, and close enough to "civilization". A bit far (30 min) from Albuquerque proper, but right on the outskirts, only a mile and a half from I-40, and boasting beautiful views whenever you head into town. Pool not open until Memorial Day, but at least the sign says "seasonally". We'll probably be back -- everything in town is quite a bit more expensive. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was Good Sam Rate. Historic site on route 66: worth the stay to see the 50's cars/trailers and memorabilia in the office. Not a lot of space between units, but easy access. The location of the site maybe inaccurate on GPS. On I-40 take exit 149 and turn North, then East (away from Albuquerque) on Frontage Road. Pass Camping World, then on right. Only 10 minutes from downtown ABQ. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
All in all, not a bad campground. Office staff is kind of a mixed bag. Some are fantastic while others leave you standing twiddling your thumbs while they chat and gossip with their friends. Sites are ok but not level. Probably less than 5% have picnic tables. Trees appear trimmed but use a spotter. We've traveled coast to coast and this is the first damage we've had from a tree. Judging from the damage to various trees around the park, we have lots of company. I'm not sure when they open the pool. If you need reliable and fast WiFi, this is not your park. It took me three days trying to complete something that easily would have taken less than an hour with a stronger WiFi set up. I finally had to get up at 4:00 am to work on it when the rest of the park was sleeping and even then, it was a struggle. Dust and wind are always an issue in NM and this park is no exception. Bottom line, if you're looking for a cheap, safe, and relatively quiet RV park with little or no frills, this is your park. If you require more, you may need to look elsewhere. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Enjoyed this park a lot. Laundry room was immaculate and all machines worked. Staff were very courteous. There is a game room, TV room, and library with games and puzzles for guests' use. Our site had good water pressure and electric worked fine. Wi-Fi was spotty. I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Rate is based on the weekly rate. This is an interesting park, with antique cars and trailers, old appliances and posters in the laundry and game room, and a nicely landscaped office/activity area. When we needed to change from a monthly to a weekly rate, the manager, who was very friendly, quickly changed the rate and provided a refund. There's a lot to like about this park; however, the sites are the front to back type, so you share your "yard" with your neighbor. In our case, we had a long term neighbor with a lot of trash, although since the sites are dirt/gravel, it's not a comfortable place to sit outside. A great place for a short stay, convenient to I-40 but fairly quiet, and reasonably priced. We'd stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Moved from another park in the area because staff here said they have strong WiFi. They don't have strong WiFi, weak at best. Dusty roads and sites. Would not return even with a discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a good place to stay if you're wanting to be around Albuquerque. The rates and facilities are good. The sites are large (but not necessarily level). The staff are friendly and accommodating. I'd stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
OK for a couple of nights. Easy access to and from I-40. Not as noisy as anticipated. Staff was nice enough. Could use some TLC, especially gravel. Be aware that sites are tight, if you and your neighbor have slides, you may be sharing the Grey Poupon! Also, sites are not close to level. For just a one night stay, might have considered the Route 66 casino instead. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for one night. The staff was excellent and made us feel very welcome. The pool and other facilities were well maintained. The atmosphere of the park is very unique and has kind of desert west atmosphere. We have sufficient shade and room to spread out at our site. We would recommend this RV park to others, and we will make this RV park our park of choice anytime we visit or pass through Albuquerque in the future. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Other reviews of this park are reasonably accurate. There is nothing special about it. Pull through sites are head to tail with about 8 feet between adjacent units. Roads are mostly gravel. Staff is friendly and helpful. We have stayed here a number of times while having work done on the rig next door at Camping World. Unfortunately this time was during balloon festival time and the greediness of the operators was apparent not recognizing Good Sam discount and by jacking the rate as high as they could. It is unfortunate that the RV Park industry does not seem to want to foster good will. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an excellent park, with easy access off interstate #40. The laundry are is clean with very reasonable rates. The only negative comment I could make was that when the wind was blowing, it got a little dusty. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A very nice park, convenient to the freeway and one of the closest to major shopping and things to do and see in Albuquerque. It is next to the Camping World for those who need their CW fix. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park about 8 miles from downtown. Sites are mostly pull thru and fairly level. All roads and sites are gravel. Laundry is clean and cheap. People were very nice and tried to be helpful. As with most places in the southwest there is not much shade or grass and it can get dusty. Next to a big Camping World. Wi-Fi was a bit slow, but worked and was free. Over the air TV reception was pretty good-- there is no cable. Noise from I-40 was not bad at our site which was about 1/2 way toward the rear. Would stay again. Rate reflects PPA discount which is only good for 2 nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here on our way to the Grand Canyon. Price is P.A. The WiFi is weak but it works. The the people at the office were very friendly and helpful. They gave us good directions to the state fair. The park is right off the interstate but we were not bothered by the noise. We would stop here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This RV Park can be best described as an expanded gravel parking lot with shade trees. There is nothing really enchanting about the place except for a few antique autos. Many of the sites are occupied by long term guest who's RV appears to have been stationary for an extended period of time. The long term guest and seasonal guest were of an unfriendly nature. Not a single one spoke to me or even would reply back with a simple hello. The clubhouse and laundry facility was locked-down at an early hour in the evening. The big drawback for us was the traffic noise of I-40. The traffic is non-stop, day and night, and a major trucking route. It was difficult to sleep during our first night. On the plus side, it is ten miles west of Albuquerque and Passport America is accepted. Even though we got charged extra for 50 Amp it was still twenty dollars less than across the Interstate. Traffic noise or not we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We weren't supposed to be in ABQ, truck repairs took us here. For you Dodge owners, the local dealer is excellent. Have a shuttle to take you wherever you wish including the campground. Enchanted Trails is just funky. Sites are fine, lots of large rigs. The shop has all sorts of memorabilia and the staff, who have all seem to have been there a while, are quite pleasant. The place across the way is prettier but twice as much. Our rate was reflects Passport America. Would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Good bargain, the lady at the front desk was friendly. The pool was nice after a long hot drive. The full-timer next to us had a leaking sewer connection (yuck). Camping World was convenient being right next door. Sites are gravel with some trees. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park is one of three on top of the hill to the west of Albuquerque with rates in the middle of the three. When I asked to extend our 3 day stay to 5, the owner offered that for another $19, I could have the weekly rate, which we did. They have added gravel to the roads & most of the sites, which has greatly reduced the dust problem. There is no grass as this is a desert location. Wi-Fi worked well. Spacing is generous so there's no issue with making turns for even the largest rigs. The on-site propane business is very good for RV repairs, too. Though close to I-40, the noise is not too bad. We have stayed here a number of times & will do so again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We only overnighted here, and it served our purpose fine. All the sites are pull-throughs, it's right off I-40, and next door to a Camping World. Not the kind of place I'd stay at if I planned on hanging out around the RV, though. The traffic noise is constant, and it's far from nature, but if we had a reason to be in Albuquerque for a couple of days or needed to overnight again, we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a suitable spot for an overnight. The spot was level, and it had a small amount of shade. There was a minimal amount of road noise. Lots of dust from the park roads, but that is just the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We had space E12, with a tree! There is no cable TV. It's pretty flat and not much shade. Right off I-40 and next to Camping World. Our rate reflects Passport America. We would stay here if just passing through Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We are Passport members and camped here for one night in space A-7, a pull through. It turned out to be a side-to-side situation and there was only a few feet of space between us and our neighbor. The situation was OK for 1 night, but we would not like this for a longer stay. Otherwise everything else was fine. Quality of park not up to the same level as nearby American RV, Isleta Lakes, or Albuquerque Central KOA. However, those parks also cost much more than $18 per night. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a cute little campground. It's very clean and neat. We stopped to overnight. The weather was terrible. We basically pulled in, ate dinner and crashed. The next morning it snowed, so I really can't do this nice little park justice. It is next door to Camping World and an easy commute into ABQ, but it has a country feel. There was no road noise. It is an easy on/off from I-40. This is a real bargain with CampClub. I hope next time I am in the area I can stop here for a couple of nights and check out the ABQ museums. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice park while visiting area. Easy off and on I-40. Staff very friendly and site very nice. Price reflects Passport America rate. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They even have an on site repair and propane service which we used and found to be knowledgeable. Due to poor weather we needed to add 3 days to our visit. This park was a super park to wait out the weather. The electric and Wi-Fi worked great. This rate is a Coast to Coast rate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The ladies who run this park are very nice and friendly. The sites are all dirt but level. They display some older cars and motorhomes which are nice to look at (if you like that sort of thing). It also fits nicely into their theme and the old route 66. They have shaded lots as well. We did not use the bathrooms here. It is located in a good spot for going to Santa Fe and Albuquerque. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Friendly staff. Rate reflects 2 nights at PA rate and one night at Good Sam rate. Gravel roads and sites are not particularly level. It's okay for an overnight or couple of nights stay. Easy access off of I-40. Pool was still closed for winter. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a basic park along the road site. No cable TV and the WiFi didn't work most of the time. We got the discount price through CampClub USA, but would stay somewhere else the next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Wide gravel interior roads that can be negotiated by any size rig. Side-by-side hookups mean that your entry door faces your neighbor's entry door. You share a picnic table with your neighbor. Long, level sites wide enough to park your toad or tow vehicle next to your RV. 50 amp power at our site, although most sites are 30 amps only. Under a heavy morning load, our power sagged to 108 VAC. The laundry has only four washers and four dryers, far too few for a park this size. Free Wi-Fi. The Passport America rate for a 50-amp site is $17 plus tax. We would use this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The PA rate for 2 nights was $15; the Good Sam rate after that was $26. There is nothing fancy about this park, but it`s open, clean and the staff is very friendly. It`s right off I-40, but far enough away that the traffic noise is light. There is Wi-Fi in the park, but it gets overlaoded very quickly, even with the park half empty. We`d definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is near the interstate and good for an overnight stop, but I would not stay longer. The roads are gravel and in some places the gravel is loose and deep. We had a site on the end row, which had no gravel. It was dirt only and there were deep ruts in the site. Also, the site was not level. There were many long-term residents here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate quoted was for a 50 amp site with a half-price CCUSA discount. The park has easy big rig access and adequate amenities. We purchased propane while there and enjoyed the terrific customer service of the on-site pickup and delivery service. While adjacent to the interstate, we were not bothered by road noise. We would definitely stay at this park again at the discounted rate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a typical RV park for the west. Not too much green space and minimal landscaping. We were there in January so we were not surprised at all and this was not a negative. The sites are alternate facing so each motor home in a row will face the opposite direction. This means that you will share electric and sewer on one side with your neighbor and you will also have your canopy and doors facing each other. The park was not crowded when we were there so this was not a problem with us but if it was during a time of year when I would want to sit outside, it does provide little privacy. If you are traveling with another coach, this could be an ideal situation to interact with each other. The staff is very friendly and they accept all of the usual discounts including PA, which we used. We have stayed here before and will again when we are in the Albuquerque area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We amped here overnight on our way south. It is OK for an overnight but wouldn't work for us to stay longer. The sites were close together and an unoccupied rig next to us had an alarm going off inside constantly. The staff was helpful and accommodating. It is right next door to Camping World and convenient to the sites in Albuquerque. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate is FHU 30 amp daily rate with Passport America discount. Gravel roads and sites with limited shade. Will give you a sky view site for satellite if you ask for it. Washer and dryers in office. Just down the road from a Camping World and also a large RV dealer if you need to get a RV shopping fix. Great value for the price, making for a good overnight stop convenient to Albuquerque, and we would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here before and returned, hoping to have same pleasant experience. Unfortunately, some personnel changes occurred and we did not experience the same friendly service with one of the office managers as we did before. The other manager is great. Pull-throughs are easy to navigate, but all are dirt and gravel and ours was not very level. Services are fine, but it was difficult to stay connected to the wi-fi, even though it is setup with several log-on sites. The person who runs their support shop provides GREAT service; which includes windshield repair and satellite support. There is some freeway noise, but not enough to keep you up all night. Our price is based on average price for several nights stay, including Camp Club. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate we paid was for Camp Club USA. Park was great for overnight stay but could have stayed for several days if needed. Check-in was friendly and efficient. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Dirt/mud at the site, there should at least be gravel. There were big ruts from where the guy before us apparently got stuck - don't know why these weren't smoothed out before we got there. Several cluttered long-term sites. Nice to have propane/windshield repair/newspaper shop inside the park. Wi-fi signal was good, however the internet connection was lost on a weekend day and not recovered until the next day. Hookups were good, no cable, but we could get 5 good channels off the air. Good location for volcanoes at Petroglyph Natl Monument. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We are in Albuquerque at least once a year and stay here using CampClub USA and regular rates. They have always be very cordial and nice. The sites are pull through, easy to get into with the fifth wheel and fairly level. The bathrooms and showers are clean. The wifi strength has improved to an excellent level for the last couple times we were there. We have used the swimming pool and spa on several occasions and it is always clean. The accessibility of propane, newspaper among other services from the vendor on the property is a plus, I have seen him remove and replace tanks for people who need a little help. The fact that Camping World is close enough to walk to it is nice too. We have stayed here repeatedly and will continue in the future! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very clean, very cordial. Beautiful setting. Pools was always clean as was hot tub. Easy to get in and out of even with road construction in ALBQ. Will be back to this one. Go to their website, it shows what you can expect. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
For what we wanted, this park was fine. We were just there to visit with friends who live in Albuquerque and were only there in the evening. The price was right as Coast to Coast Members; Enchanted Trails is a Good Neighbor Park with that organization. The sites are rough, not terribly level; picnic tables are old and not in great condition. If you are looking for a "destination" RV Park, with lots to do, this is not the park for you. For a place to stay while you see the sights in and around Albuquerque, it serves the purpose well. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Shore Services: 50amp. Sewer was good and water was @ 40 psi. Had good AT&T cell phone reception, but no cable TV. Sites and roads are heavy gravel. Did not use the restrooms or laundry. Directv satellite had a good signal. Park discounts for Passport America and Good Sams. Paid with a credit card. This is big park with a lot of gravel: some places the gravel was very deep. Sites are not laid out in a good manner. I was not sure how to go into my site. I almost ran over the sewer. This is not a terrible place but it is not a great place either. If I came here again with all the available parks I would go to the American RV Park across the freeway. For the price as a Passport America campground it would be ok for a night or two. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground was in a good place for our route, but that is about the only reason we stayed there. The gravel roads were so soft and deep I almost had to put the dually in 4-wheel drive to get to the site. The site face opposite directions, so you share utility hook ups with another unit, and our neighbor was so close to the hook-ups and had off-door side slide, that we were unable to extend our rear-most off-door side slide for fear of hitting there bedroom slide. There was no designated pet area and it was hard to walk across the soft gravel to get to the dumpsters. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
An OK place for an overnight stay. This is a nice, old-fashioned campground, which probably has not changed much since it was built. A bit dusty as the sites and roads are all dirt and gravel. Located next to a Camping World and on the I-40 frontage road. We paid $14.85 with Passport America for one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an okay place to overnight. The first site we were directed to didn't work because we just couldn't get level. Sites and driveways are gravel, so it can be very dusty. There are quite a few long term folks. We had trouble with our fridge and took it down the highway to United RV, and were impressed with their professionalism and competence. They had us on our way in about an hour. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This place is a very neat, a cool throw back to the 1950's and you have to appreciate that. It has the classic feel of a Route 66 kind of place; you can feel the old history here. Not a ton of shade tress but everything is clean, and thank god the owners are not gestapo types like one other place we were in Arizona. This place is busy because it is off of I-40 (old Route 66). We would come again for sure. We paid $24 per night which I thought to be a fair price. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an okay stop for the night. There seem to be a lot of seasonals. They leave for work beginning at 5:00 A.M., and you hear them all as they drive out on the gravel roads. We were put next to a seasonal. When he came home he parked his car between our rig and his fifth wheel making it impossible for us to get out until he left again. Thankfully, he was one of the early people to leave the park. He found it necessary to slam the door of the fifth wheel and his car when he left. There is no cable, and the 5 or 6 TV channels don't come in. There is one channel that speaks all Spanish that comes in pretty well. Our rate is a Camp Club rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice spot right off I-40, and 10 miles from Old Town. Spotless bathrooms and showers. Camping World is "next door". Host was pleasant and helpful. Some interstate noise at night. Pulled open the windshield curtains in the am, and a cow was looking at me! Luckily, we were not down wind from the pasture. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were here a week at the Passport America rate. Sites are level, gravel pull-throughs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The park is neat and clean. Our Sprint phones and Verizon air card worked well. A large Camping World is next door. There is construction on the exit so we will call for information before we stay again in October. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We love Enchanted Trails. We have camped there in our Motorhome every year for the past 4 years and once in June of 2000. They have a nice laundry, nice game room, cable TV hook up and is next door to Camping World. The casino located at the next exit is good for a meal and some down time. We always enjoy seeing the Tear Drops that are there. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground was very quiet and clean. We enjoyed our stay. It's right next door to Camping World and just down the road from a really nice casino. The rate is using our passport card. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Easy access. A little dusty, but hey, your in the desert. WiFi signal a little weak. Site A-4. Would stay here again. Hosts were very helpful. Be sure to go up the Turquoise Trail, then to the Sandia Crest. Beautiful... And don,t forget the Sandia Tram, longest in the world. Amazing...This is a Passport Park... We camped here in a Motorhome.
One bathroom, one shower for public in park. All dirt, dust, gravel sites. Good for temporary stay. People representing the park were very friendly. Those in the sites next to us seemed almost reluctant to talk. Very close to Camping World and easy Interstate access. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Basically a dirt parking lot in a not very nice area. There is a camping world nearby so that is a plus but I can't think of many others. The price was with Passport America. We will look elsewhere next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Easy access from Interstate 40 on west side of Albuquerque. Noise from Interstate can be heard on sites nearest office. Camping World next door. All downtown attractions easily accessible by auto. No pet run. Only 4 washer dryers for a large campground. Stayed there 2 days. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice park which is very close to Albuquerque's attractions and has easy access to the interstate. Yes, the ground is a bit dusty; but that is not a big disadvantage. The hookups were all very close and connecting was easy. Be sure to check out Petroglyph National Monument (very close by) and Albuquerque's Old Town while you are there. They are both definitely worth seeing. There is also an RV repairman on site and next door is Camping World if you need supplies. The price reflects the Camp Club USA discount. I will definitely stay here again if I am in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park with large pull-throughs. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Sites are hard packed dirt and I wouldn't want to be here during the rainy season. Restrooms are clean and well maintained. Far enough from the Interstate that noise wasn't much of a problem. Some previous dog walkers were not very considerate, but that's a personal problem and the park can't control that. We used Passport America and got a great rate. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very hard dirt sites, like concrete so no problem. Some shade trees but not in bloom this time of year. Very dry here but 70 degrees. My site A-4 is very level. Very big rig friendly with many pull-thru sites. Camping World is right next door. Get here by 2:00PM because after that the sites fill up fast. Price is with Passport America discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I was up at the north end of the park and the septic tank covers were beside the coach. The smell was unpleasant. The folks were very nice and friendly. One big plus is that this place is next to "Camping World." You can drop off your coach for work and walk back to the Enchanted Trails recreation room (With a Pool Table) and watch TV until repairs are done. Wi-Fi is like most parks who advertise W-iFi. It is very weak and very sporadic. However Verizon 3G works very well out there with excellent broadband if you vave a Verizon USB or card. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is located in the middle of a desert and that's why it's very dusty. They have some nice old cars on the property and sort of a museum inside also. Three Hollywood movies have partly been filmed at their location. The sites were level but you can't really get any shade. Wifi didn't work on all their access points but eventually we got one good connection. If you want that one, ask for a space near the office. The restrooms were clean. We would stay here again for an overnight. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has a post-WWII theme with vintage RVs and Hudson cars up front. While somewhat old, the facilities are well taken care of and clean. The sites and roads are just heavy sand, as it's a desert climate. Not a problem unless the winds are high. We stayed for a week at $126 and then added a day. The helpful office person calculated a prorated rate of only $19 for the extra day. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Easy access off I-40. Friendly front office folks. Neat "decor" (vintage cars/trailers as decoration). Bathrooms rather old and site wasn't very level. We were just over nighting and we'd do so again because of easy proximity to interstate AND to Freightliner service place down the street. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We've stayed here twice now, both for a month at a time. Staff is super-friendly. Mostly level parking, hookups are good. Many of the surrounding parks do not have trees. However, when the high desert wind blows the park turns into a dust bowl. The long-term residents are very friendly. The facilities are older, and not by any means meticulously cared for. They have an on-site RV supply/Propane serviceman who is extremely nice and will help you with whatever you need. It is relatively close to the highway (I-40) so you do get quite a bit of road noise. Definitely a good choice over American RV park across the freeway, which is outrageously overpriced. Just don't shower while anyone is doing laundry! (Big time water pressure/temperature fluctuation.) Plenty of room in between sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice park right next to Camping World and just off of the interstate. It took a little maneuvering to have satellite service, but the park itself was basically fine. We spent one night and did not use any of the facilities. The staff was friendly and LP gas is sold right by the entrance. We camped here in a Motorhome.
High desert area park, beautiful views of the mountains around Albuquerque with great sunrises and sunsets. Plenty of room this time of year with fairly level sites. Nice laundry with pool table and exchange book collection. Very disappointed that the hot tub was shut down for the winter (THIS is when you really want it!) along with the swimming pool. Close to town and stores. Have stayed here several times We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A pretty good park, was a great home for the 3 months plus that I stayed there. My neighbor had been there for 10 years. Was relegated to long term area, where it was more cramped, but it was fine. Had a minor hiccup w/ the power box, but it was repaired quickly. This web-site said it had CATV, but when I inquired at the office, they asked where did I ever get such a silly idea. Was lucky and didn't have to vacate my site for the Balloon Fiesta (as was told I might when I booked the place). Yeah, book very early for anywhere in that area for the first two weeks of October. Zero landscaping and southwest desert made for lots of blowing sand and silt invading EVERYWHERE in camper. The management was very helpful and friendly. They went on a sprucing-up binge right before Fiesta time and made the place look very nice, though the phrase "silk purse and sow's ear" sprang to mind. Suffered minor damage in hail storm (cant blame them) but the very frequent winds did make me happy to leave. Hope to vacation there sometime to have more time to see the balloons. WI-FI didn't work well at my end of park, but my PC's air card worked fine. No CATV is why I now own a Sat system. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The pool and spa were clean and very user friendly. The sites were large and level. Just 10 minutes from city. This is a place we would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
My 8 rating is due to easy in and out, flawless wi-fi, happily accepts Passport (no resentment), level sites and very friendly staff. The dust is not pleasant but it is New Mexico after all. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly front office staff. Pretty nice place and not expensive. Only complaint is all dirt and gravel but smooth. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a difference 3 years makes. The last time we were here I rated it at a 5; this time at a 9. They have really cleaned up the place. I still wouldn't call it a resort, but in my opinion, it's the best park for the money in the Albuquerque. We will absolutely return, and maybe spend a few extra days seeing friends in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Right off I-40 so expect some noise unless you are in the back. The pool and spa were AWESOME to use after a day of traveling. Very clean and sparkling! Lots of nice trees but dirt surface (this IS the west after all!) Very convenient overnight stop We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I'd rate this park higher as the office/laundry/restrooms, etc. are very clean, however, it's not paved & we had lots of rain while here for 2 nights & things were pretty muddy. Easy access on/off I-40 although there is construction at the off ramp it still wasn't a problem. Laundry room was very nice, however, no change machine & office doesn't open until 10 a.m. on weekends. Price is Passport America. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is the high desert so it will be dusty, but not unbearable. The price was right, the staff was friendly, the sites level and everything worked. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I'm sure one can find a park that is paved and landscaped, but that wasn't necessary to us. Clean, safe, pleasant. Will use again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is the Passport America rate. Pool and hot tub felt great. This is a very clean and safe place to spend the night. Nothing fancy, just good clean place to rest after a long day's drive. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice for an overnight stay. Pass Port America. Close to Camping World and to I 40. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We paid the Passport America rate (1/2 off). The staff was friendly and the campground was well maintained, but had seen better days. Sites weren't level. The building had some history, but we couldn't find the view of the city lights that the literature described. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Not really "enchanted". Gravel; small trees; no grass. Bathrooms/showers need updating. Pool closed. Accepted Passport America. Okay for overnight. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park just next door to Camping World. Great hook-ups, friendly and helpful manager. This park has shade trees, but no grass. Would be very dusty if wind blowing and would not really want to be here when it rains. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Easy on and off freeway access. Full hook up pull thru sites. Friendly registration. Dirt interior roads a little dusty. Appreciate free wireless access at site. We camped here in a Motorhome.
1st night after driving 10 hours was rough. Was given a spot that I could not get my RV level. Next am asked to move. Stayed there for 3 months. Needed some place cheap to stay. Was okay. Staff extra friendly and helpful, no dog run. Great walk out on a ranch. Where I was parked had no wireless internet. Had to go to the office to get signal. Was placed in a quiet area that I asked for. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for 1 night last year. Wasn't the best experience but not the worst. This year we needed a park near Freightliner to have our Allison's transmission fluid changed. This park may be out in the desert but there's no reason the owners can't put gravel down for the comfort of their guests. It was impossible to sit outside without getting a mouthful of dust every time someone drove by and we sank into the talcum powder dirt when walking around. It was impossible to keep the dirt out of our coach. Glad we were able to use our Passport America here as I would have hated to spend $33.00 a night to park in a dust bowl!! We won't be back!! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate was with PA discount. Was dusty even without wind. Dumpster in center of park making about a block for those from front. Staff was courteous but did not point out where necessities -- shower, pool, etc. -- plus we had to return to office as original site assigned was already occupied. Park is west of town about 4-5 miles, making it somewhat inconvenient for sightseeing. Good cable and WiFi. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The staff was friendly and helpful. However, you are camped on top of 9 mile hill on a mesa on the west side of Albuquerque. The wind blows really hard up there and it is right next to I-40 which can be noisy if you get a spot on the end. Very few sites had any real shade. It's a place to stop for overnight but would not recommend a long stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park does have a lot of dirt but you are in the desert. We stayed here a couple nights to visit Albuquerque. Easy access. Plenty of room for rig. Friendly. Not a resort but safe and easy. Camping World next door, and Home Depot and Walmart a few miles East toward town. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
OK for a couple of nights. Wouldn't really want to be here if the wind came up. The dirt's like talcum powder, and rather thick in some areas. Never did see gravel anywhere. Power and water were fine. Good sat, cell, and aircard reception. Plenty of room for slides and toad. Sites were level and easy to get in and out of. Staff helpful and friendly. Lots of road noise day and night. They also honored our Passport America card even though it was a weekend. Freightliner and Camping World close by. We would stay here again as an overnighter. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our rate is an average between a non discounted day after Balloon Fiesta rate & a PA rate for the second night. A resort it is not, however the pool looked very clean & the staff are most accommodating. There is not a blade of grass to be seen but in NM where the rainfall is 15" water should not be used just to make a place look pretty. Desert is desert. Highway noise is no big issue. The only problem was the 120V circuit breaker kicking out a few times first thing in the morning. Everyone must have put the coffee makers on together. Would stay again without hesitation. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Entrance was completely dark at night. Sites were all dust. Good WiFi and hookups. We didn't use any of the park amenities. Management was very friendly. We used Passport America. A decent place for a night or two. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an "OK" place to spend a night on the road, but a resort it isn't. A possible plus is that it's right next door to camping world. We would overnight here again, but we would NOT spend time here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have to give this park a low rating as the sites were not level and soft dirt. Not sure if it always blows stink around here, but that did not help the situation with blowing dirt. The free WiFi did work from our site and the park is relatively convenient to what we needed to do. We would not pick this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Negatives: close to I-40 so expect road noise. Very dusty...had 25 - 35 MPH wind for 2 days so lots of blowing grit. Lots of traffic in and out as this is a good overnighter for I-40 travel. Positives: Very friendly and helpful staff. Worked with Passport America, Good Sam's and weekly rate to get me a good price. Clean and nice laundry room, small store, pool table, etc. Pool not yet open. Nice view of Sandia Mtns. to the east. Long, wide pull thrus and good amount of trees for the area. Would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Visited park in 40' motorhome with toad. If you are looking for a dirt parking lot with utilities in a desert setting you will love this place. The staff was friendly. Park has small store and a swimming pool which was closed. As you enter park you leave blacktop into dirt. Our assigned site was very rutted from previous users which made leveling difficult. Site was long enough and wide enough to accommodate us. Site had no table. Park is VERY dusty. Parking in roadways caused difficulty in maneuvering a big rig through park. We will avoid this park in future. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a good park in a good location. Although it is very near I-40, we did not notice a lot of road noise. It is beside a Camping World and is a PA and Good Sam Park. The price we paid is averaged out for 2 days under PA and one under Good Sam. We found Vickie (in the office) to be very friendly and helpful. All sites are dirt, but wide. We can see where the dust might really blow if it is windy, but not a problem when we stayed here. The wi-fi (free) was o.k. The signal was very good to excellent, but the speed was slow, (11 Mbps) and I was using a network adapter to extend the range. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Mostly dirt roads and sites. Very windy and dusty. WIFI only worked if you were immediately next to the office. Side by side hook ups. Very close to I-40. Only advantage is that it is next to a Camping World. We camped here in a Motorhome.
PA rate $15. Friendly people at the desk, we were in a site close to I40 so there was some highway noise, but you can be quite a bit further away from it... about 4 miles west of the edge of town next door to Camping World and an RV dealership. It was extremely windy for 2 days... and there is no protection from the wind... the sites have connections for 2 RVs at one location.. makes for very wide space curbside and close together on driver side... easy wide gravel interior roads.. LOTS of puzzles in the main building. If it wasn't for the wind, it was great. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed here several times and our only complaint has been that the entire park is sand. This time they had spread, very small, gravel throughout the park, which helps some. It is located next to American RV and Camping World, which is convenient when you need service or want to shop RVs. The park is a little distance west of Albuquerque shopping and restaurants. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park. Some sites are not level. Friendly, accommodating staff. Restrooms need to be upgraded. Camping World is next door. 9 miles to downtown and old Route 66 Central Ave. Accepts Passport America. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was the worst RV park we staying on a 5,000 mile trip we took from Oregon. It was dusty, we found the sites unfinished, loud freeway noise and the employees could care less. Will not stay there again even overnight and will not recommend it to others. There were two RVs that were very unhappy with the accommodations We camped here in a Motorhome.

We just needed a place for a overnight stop. This is good for a quick stop. Sites are sandy and some are soft. The noise from the highway is a steady, soft roar, and we got used to it. The market is a short drive down the hill, and the casino is a mile away. We used Coast to Coast rates, and would stop here again if necessary. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We regularly stay here on an overnight basis only while travelling through on I-40. A "Resort" it certainly isn't, or if so a 1/2 star resort, but using the Passport America rate for an overnight stay, it can't be beat. Pull through sites with full hookups and 50 smp service for less than $15 lets you put up with a little road noise from I-40. Again, it's not a destination park, but we've paid a lot more for a lot worse as far as an overnight stop is concerned. We definitely will stop there again, and I know what to expect, a reasonable full hookup overnight, nothing else. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Dirt roads, trailer trash need I say more. I paid for my site and left after driving over a wheel barrow left in the road and having to ask one of the full timers to move his junked car off the site I was assigned. I would never stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Not a pretty campground but it is in the desert. Good bit of road noise from the interstate if the wind is blowing, which it does alot. Nice check in staff, free billiards table, good laundry. Used Passport America for the rate. Good deal at this price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park has a small number of trees to park under, but this is the desert. Bathroom & shower
were clean but are very old. Lots of dust in park if wind is up. Road noise from I-40 is bad. Sites close together due to hook ups on same post. Modem hook up in office-open 9:00am/6:00pm only. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate is Good Sam. Clean, level gravel sites. Wide access lanes. Friendly staff. Internet access is Tengo, but it was off more than it was on for most of my two-day stay. A word here about paid Internet: At this low a basic rate for full hookups, I don't mind paying a couple of bucks a day for Internet service. Major shopping center about 3 miles away. Convenient to I-40, but highway noise was subdued. I will be staying here again. I reserve my 9-10 ratings for full-featured destination resorts, but as a transient park this is a great place. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Price reflects Good Sam 30 amp rate. We were totally pleased with this campground. Hook-ups all worked well. No cable TV, but picked up all networks on antenna. A basic gravel parking lot campground, but sites were plenty large. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very strong Verizon cell phone and data signal. Lots of long-term campers, but everything was neat and clean. Great price for what you get. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The rate reflects a Good Sam discount. For the price in this part of NM, this park cannot be beat. It is nothing exceptional, but it is pleasant enough and well kept. The sites are nicely spaced apart and all utilities work well. They have pay Internet but our Verizon data service worked quite well here so that we did not need their Wi-Fi. It is close to the interstate and there is definitely some noise but, even with windows open, it was not objectionable. Several of the sites seemed longer term residents, but, as noted, all was neat and clean. We had made reservations based on the reviews on this site. We pulled in on a Sunday around noon. (By the way, the office is closed between 12 and 1 for lunch, so if you get here during that time you will have to wait..) We first had a sinking feeling, the area looked pretty rough and there were signs noting the "detention facility." There were also signs noting the race track. We were worried, but should not have been, the stay was quite pleasant. The park is convenient for visiting Albuquerque. Even going into town during prime traffic time in the morning was not too bad. If visiting ABQ again, we would definitely stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is an excellent choice for the traveler. We found the clerk to be very friendly and helpful. Shower house and laundry room were the cleanest I have seen. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a 'cheap' park. Lots of permanent residents because it is so cheap. Nice clubhouse. Not so nice receptionist. There is a charge of $5 per night for Wi-Fi. Unlevel spaces. Water connection is hard to get to. Gravel spaces and very thin. I will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
An outstanding value. Recreation area appears shines. A computer is available here. It had everything but a pool. We had plenty of width to extend slides and park another vehicle and trailer loaded with our ATVs next to us. Heavy duty picnic tables were like new. I've paid twice as much for less. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A great place for an overnight stop, without doubt. We actually stayed a week to see the sights. EZ off/on access to I-40, some traffic noise, nothing overwhelming. Cleanest showers/restrooms in Albq, immaculate. Staff seem more of a professional demeanor, rather than over friendly--just a style observation. Laundry fairly priced. A store inside with a few snacks. Definitely worth your money. CW across the street as well, should you desire. NOTE: If you are heading west from here, stay on the north frontage road for 5 miles and avoid the construction area and terrible road condition. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great price for electric and water. Sewer is a few dollars more. I had to pay $5 per day for internet, but it still is a good price per day. Level sites. Clean and spacious showers. Even laundry is a good price. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stay here if you want fabulously clean restrooms and showers, rec room with TV, washers and dryers; it's very inexpensive. Located about 5 miles from Albuquerque but convenient to shops, restaurants, nice staff. It's an all rock campground, not much to do there but a great place to stop if you are exploring the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The staff were very friendly ... the site was immaculate ... the site was roomy enough that we did not have to unhook our toad. The park was quiet ... the sunrise was spectacular the morning we left. The rate reflects a Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I was heading to American RV Park which I was just so-so about because I've stayed there before and it was nice but their prices are a bit steep. I'm so glad I saw this place-a little bit cheaper, the staff is fantastic! The bathroom/showers were so clean I thought the place was brand new and asked them this-its a newer building but I have never seen a place so clean! Great location, easy on/off from I-40. I can't wait to stay here again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Terrific value compared to other campgrounds in the area. The management was super nice. Very clean and convenient for a one night stay. We will definitely stop here again when in the area. Rate reflected Good Sam rate and coupon. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The I-40 traffic noise at this RV Park is far less than the RV Park across the Interstate and its nearly twenty dollars less than the RV Park next door. Overall, this a very good and safe RV Park for an overnight stay. Easy to reach off I-40, quick check-in, wide access roads and pull through spaces. The sites are wide enough, plain and simple, gravel based and angled towards the northeast. The back in sites surround the pull-through sites and they eliminate any potential view. The back-ins are nearly all occupied by extended long term guest. There are about 35 pull throughs available for overnight guest or those doing less than a month. We had an end site and they look the best. If you like having some shrubs or a tree adjacent to your site, select an end site. The other sites are not so appealing. Sites have a table that appears to have been weathered by a thousand thunderstorms. The Wi-Fi is by Tengo, which really doesn't count as Wi-Fi and one must pay for it. The facilities here are top notch, the restrooms are large, modern and sparkling clean. The rate reflects a Good Sam discount on 30 Amp. We will stay here again and only on an end sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park, well maintained and groomed. Three large dog walks are very nice. The roads are asphalt and all the sites are level with gravel. Good hook-ups except the water may be a little difficult to connect to if you use a regulator. The management is super friendly, there are 2 laundry facilities and a very nice lounge. They provide pay Wi-Fi as well. The only reason this isn't a ten is that there are no pools, etc. Great place to base out of to do Albuquerque as it is 9 miles west of city center on Nine Mile Hill. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good park for the money and cheaper than the place next door! Big gravel sites. Modern clubhouse with pool tables. Good location about 5 miles from activities. Visit the petroglyphs and old town and the Rio Grande. Also the Sandia tramway or drive to the top yourself. Cute dog park area with fire hydrant. Nice laundry area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easily accessed from I-40, this is an very good campground with paved streets and level sites. We have stayed in several other campgrounds in Albuquerque, but will stay here in the future. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stopped here overnight while eastbound on I-40. This is an excellent overnight stop: easy access, long, level pull-through full hookup sites, and the price is right. Noise from the interstate was minimal. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
They were very accommodating for our late arrival (about midnight). They had the reservation information on the front door. The site we had was large enough for our MH and car (60’) but required sewer extension by pulling into the front of the site. Didn’t use cable TV or Wi-Fi as we are self-contained. Good water pressure and power. Very friendly staff, easy check-in and out, easy access from freeway. Fast to respond to email for reservation, whereas the other local park didn’t reply to request. Used this site as an overnight stop over. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is an easy on/off from RT 40. If you are coming to the area to tour, this is a good campground. If you are here to relax and enjoy your site, this is not for you. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Had no problem getting same-day reservations. Employees were very friendly and accommodating. We weren't able to get there until about 10 PM, but found all of our information waiting for us outside the office door when we arrived. Very clean bathrooms, very clean showers. We were only there for 1 night and it was very-well suited for a brief stay. But, since we weren't there long and we didn't really explore the grounds, I can't comment on how suited it is for a more long-term stay - but really don't see why it wouldn't the same. Great proximity to downtown Albuquerque. Not far off the interstate, so very easy to locate and get around; also didn't notice any highway noise as we slept. We would stay here again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very well maintained park on the west side of town. The staff provided helpful local information and was very friendly. The community area is fabulous with a TV and pool table available near the clean laundry. We had a pull through site on the end which offered much more room than those that are in the middle. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice clean, quiet friendly park, good check in. I liked the rate. The washrooms, etc. are very clean, the laundry is clean and affordable. Has a local phone, no charge. Propane for sale on site. WiFi is Tenego pay site, but if you are in the right spot you can poach on American RV Park's hot spot, it's spotty but good enough for e-mail. Stayed 4 nights and definitely would come back. Some highway noise and the picnic tables could use some repair. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice, clean park. Hostess was very friendly. The restroom and laundry room are very clean. Nice recreation room. Two rather new pool tables. Small store. Paved roads with ample gravel sites. There are some long-term residences but their sites are very clean. Easy access to I-40 and shopping. There are only a few trees for shade and no pool. We stayed three days and would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice, well set up park. The internet is Tengo: pay them direct, $4.95 for 24hrs. Though right off the interstate, the noise was bearable. Staff was very nice. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Spacious sites, clean $1.25 wash/dryers, beautiful rec room, 2 pool tables, very helpful staff (they do a terrific job). No trees & the picnic tables are still not usable. Two miles to I-40 but it's very quiet. Rate based on Good Sam discount. With trees & pool it would probably be a 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A great park for an over night stay. Has great staff. The restrooms/showers are private and very clean. I give them a 10. Park is right off the freeway. Will stay here again on our way through. We camped here in a Motorhome.
No pool or spa, no problem. Beautiful new community room with handicap accessible shower rooms, big screen TV, kitchen. Laundry room: watch TV while you get the wash done, very nice. Quiet park, beautiful sunsets (and sunrises for the early birds!). They accept any type vehicle from vans to big rigs. We will be here for 5 months. Monthly rate currently $310 plus 14 cents per kWh. Our last bill during the heat was $109 and expect to cut that in half now that summer is over. We have family here and enjoy how easy it is to get around town. High Desert is further away from I-40, but not by much. The road noise does not bother us. We will be making this our annual ABQ stay next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice level sites with adequate spacing between them. There are picnic tables at each site but I only saw a few that were usable. They have a very nice rec room but no outside activities. We stayed here a week. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is located right on off of US-40 so there is a lot of traffic noise. The roads in the park were paved but the sites are gravel. Most of the pull through sites are long so you may not have to unhitch if just staying one night. The sites were level side-to-side but required a bit of leveling front-to-back. Electricity was very good. Verizon phone and air card work well. WI-FI is available for a fee, but we didn’t use the service. There are two newer-model washers and two dryers that are reasonably priced located in the main office. There are additional washers and dryers in a trailer within the park. There is also a small book and magazine exchange in the laundry room. There is a good-sized “activity” room that is opened until 10pm. It has a large-screen TV with comfortable chairs and a sofa, puzzle table, small tables and chairs, and two billiard tables. The temperature was very hot during our week stay and we made use of the "activity” room which was air-conditioned. The bathroom/showers were very clean but the showers were a little small. There are some long-term residents here, but their sites were tidy. The manager and rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rates reflect a one week stay with 30 amp. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The only thing keeping this park from being a 10 is the lack of shade. The bathrooms are incredible, the laundry room is very clean, and the park management is excellent. Stayed here for 7 days of a weekly rate of $110.00 plus electricity. Our electric bill was only $9.00 as there was a constant breeze, no A/C was needed. Definitely would stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
I read all the reviews and they are accurate. This is a good "basic" RV Park and you can't beat the price and staff. Two other parks are close, but do you need to pay more to park for a night or several weeks, as we did. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The main building which contains the office, showers, restrooms, TV room, lounge, etc., looked virtually brand new and is spotless! Staff was very helpful and only charged us one night for our sewer hook-up in lieu of using the dump station on our way out (we stayed 3 nights). Very quiet campground even though ii is located close (convenient!) to I-40. We were lucky to get a spot as we did not have a reservation and the second night we were here, it was full. If full, you would have to go down the road a little at twice the price. We have a 32' fifth wheel with a jeep in tow and the site easily accommodated our rig and vehicles. Paid $12.95 for a week of Wi-Fi which had great connection/speed. Would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a very good RV Park located west of the city but easy access to the downtown area. Excellent price for what you get. Our spot was near the back of the park and it was very quiet at night. Why pay more at the park next door when you can stay hear for under $20/night. We would stay again when in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a nice park, typical of SW campgrounds. Staff is very helpful. The facilities are clean and convenient. The only drawback is the freeway noise, which is noticeable but not too bad. On the other hand freeway access is a breeze! We paid $25 per night and there is a $110 + electric weekly rate available. This park is about 8 miles west of downtown Albuquerque but makes a great spot to stay to see the sights. No cable TV but over air reception is good. Pay Wi-Fi is available. There are three gated dog runs. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is located on a bluff to the west of Albuquerque and adjacent to I-40. In this exposed location, there is no shade and one is at the mercy of the wind. Road noise varies from the adjacent Interstate and the parallel access road which, judging from the traffic, is the access route to a large landfill. The park is inexpensive. It should be noted that many services the traveler normally finds bundled in the nightly cost are charged separately. This includes Wi-Fi ($12.95 per week) and electricity which was metered during my 1 week stay. The cost listed is for a one week stay and includes electricity. There is no cable TV available, but HDTV reception is good and satellite reception should be excellent because of the location. An acceptable spot for a base when exploring the Albuquerque area, but certainly not a destination resort. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is wonderful all around! The management really cares about serving the park visitors and the bathroom & laundry facilities are sparkling clean and with a wonderful scent. Warm and friendly atmosphere with a great location close to Albuquerque. Will definitely make this a must anytime we are in Albuquerque. The sites are level and great walking on the paved roads with road signs! You will not be disappointed, this is a wonderful park to stay at. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Please go to the more expensive place next door and leave this for me. Three fenced fantastic pet areas. Nice personnel. No shade but everything else. I'll be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is a bit out of town, but the rates make it very attractive. As noted, this is a no frills park, but it is very clean, has wide spaces and a new office and recreation room. The management is very friendly! We also used the weekly rate of $110 plus electricity. If we are ever back in Albuquerque we will DEFINITELY stay here again! I highly recommend this place. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very helpful staff. Decent size gravel sites and paved roads. No frills but good for price. Lot of road works going on outside park but not too noisy. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We've stayed here several times and find it a reasonably priced park (weekly rates available) and convenient for doing the Albuquerque area. This would probably not be a great park for families as there are no playgrounds, pools, etc. and most campers appear to be adults, many of them working in the area. Nice laundry facilities and dog walking areas. Sites are level with excellent utilities. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Can't beat the price (30 amp price) and the location. With wind and thunderstorm the day we pulled in, we were thankful for the paved roads and gravels sites. No dust/mud problems. Large picnic tables at each site, but most had badly warped boards. Still usable since there were just three of us, but it appears they were built with untreated lumber. Good spacing between sites. Nice restrooms/showers/lounge. Only negatives were no cable TV, Wi-Fi, and some really large weeds among the sites. Was a convenient and quiet location and we would happily stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Have stayed here many times and love the staff and ease of park. We don't need a lot of frills and like the big wide sites. Have learned to use Central Avenue to get to shopping and other places. We feel at home when we stop here on our way between pestering our kids. Will always return We camped here in a Motorhome.
Can you believe it? Full hook-up sites for $18.75 a night! However our site was more than 3 inches off level, so we had to use the ramp. Big, paved driveways to gravel sites. Must be a new park as the trees are fairly small. About a half mile from Camping World, across I-40. This park is next to I-40 so there is highway noise. There are two other fancier parks near by, with more trees, but this one was fine for a one night stay. Some old units parked in the rear (monthly rentals?)Three big pet areas where they can be off the leash and pick-up tools and trash barrels at each one. Office is open until eight p.m. so late arrivals have no problem registering. I bet this one wouldn't be as expensive to use during the balloon festival in the fall. Nice new community building. WiFi for a fee. Ten miles west of Albuquerque. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The park is convenient to I-40 but the access is very confusing. Access is adequate for big rigs, but some difficult maneuvering may be required to exit the rows. A roomy fenced dog run was available but typical of several desert locations, had not a blade of grass. We would stay again for an overnight stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for The Rally. It was very nice, quiet and peaceful. There were several others in the park that were also attending. We would return to this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park has paved roads and gravel sites. It was extremely windy during our 3 day stay. There was some blowing leaves and little dust, a plus out on the west mesa. There is no cable TV. The pay Wi-Fi worked OK but had slowdown issues. This is a well maintained, good place to stay and is cost effective for a 50 amp full hookup site. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great value for the money. Best rate we have found in a long time. The park is clean and well maintained. The roads are paved and the sites are gravel. It is nothing fancy, but a very nice place. We will stay here anytime we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Clean and well kept campground just west of city of ABQ. Large pull thru sites and wide easily navigable interior roads. Cleanest and nicest bathrooms and showers I've ever seen. Pleasant office staff. Nice fenced dog runs. Not a destination campground, but good for an overnight, or as a home base to explore the area. Reasonable rates. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed here a week while seeing the area. Hostess in office was very nice. Very windy while here. Sites barely fit our 40 ft mh and toad. Sites are dirt and gravel. Benches are warped out from the sun. Many long term residents here, but no problem with them. Most seem to be working. One long-termer had 4 kids riding their bikes up and down streets so have to look at all times to see where they are. Roads fairly narrow to get into space. Would stay here again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is small but very nice and the owners are building a new office. We stayed just one night but found it very nice. WiFi costs $4.95 for 24 hrs, found it the only draw back as most parks offer it free now. Would stay here again on our way through. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a quiet adult RV park, away from the city. Well managed. Most sites are permanent or long term residents. We were here for 3 months to explore the area on day trips. Sites are very spacious level gravel, while the roadways are paved. This is the high desert, so expect wind at times, and dust. Views are spectacular. We will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a very well kept, modern park with friendly management. Sites are large, level, and easy to access. There are picnic tables, but most were warped. WiFi is good but expensive at $4.95 per day. There is no cable TV. Location is good, right near the interstate and not far from Albuquerque. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Basic overnight type park. Keeping in mind it is in the "high desert", it's OK. Close to I-40, there is highway noise. It was clean, with up-to-date hook-ups, easy in/out. They had some small trees, but no shade. The office was in a portable building, but they are building a new one. They have no directional signs, office clerk said boss didn't want one, but they were pretty full. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park with large level gravel pad. Gravel patio with picnic table that needed repair to replace warped boards rendering it unusable. Paved streets. Three large fenced dog runs! Friendly excellent management. One big negative is the sewer stench that permeates the park when the wind blows from the south, which is most days. Priced right versus other local parks. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a friendly, no frills park. We paid $17.45 a night for a 30 amp full hookup site with Good Sam discount. The management is very friendly and efficient. The roads are paved and the sites are gravel. There is virtually no shade and landscaping is minimal. The toilets, showers and laundromat are in good condition. A pay WiFi service is available through NomadISP. We signed up for a week at $12.95. Daily and monthly rates are also available. We were even given a toll free number to the provider in case questions arose. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
For the price, this RV Park is a bargain. Although its location atop a hill guarantees winds, the interior roads are paved & cuts down on dirt blowing. Sites are gravel, relatively level, long & roomy. They are constructing a new Office, store, & Rec. Rm. Staff were pleasant & efficient. WiFi was available. Propane service was available so we topped off before checking out. The price was $2.18 when we got there and $2.27 when we left - not bad, considering we've paid much higher! All in all, we felt we got a good value & would definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate we paid was for 13 days including electric which they charge extra for if you are on their weekly rate. Excellent relatively new RV park - wide, level sites, no trees. Very good manager. Only negatives for us were washing rig/toad not allowed; noise (24-hrs-a-day trucks/traffic on nearby I-40); and smell of septic field at the rear of park. RV park is located on top of mesa and is very exposed. If it's windy - it's really windy!! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is one of the cleanest parks I have ever seen. It is very well maintained, priced right, and has all the amenities I need. No pool or rec room but I don't need those. Have stayed there twice and loved it. Helpful management and quiet area. Right across the interstate from a Camping World. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice stop-over RV park. Gravel& level sites have all the basics, low price, and a desert view. There is no sign at the frontage road, but you can just follow the signs for the American RV Park which is next door. The sign in front of the park is small so that people will think it is American RV and pull in and find out they can stay here for half the price. They have three, enclosed, dog runs, but nothing to keep kids entertained. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We never got to stay here. We called a week ahead to reserve a week. The first two times we called the person answering the phone couldn't help us; finally a lady took our information. When we arrived she said we were only reserved for one night and made no adjustments for us. We went across the freeway to Enchanted Hills CG. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice, well kept park with easy access to I-40 and Route 66. Gravel roads and sites are the only reasons it doesn't get a higher rating. A few years of growth on the trees will help, also. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

OK for an overnight stay. Convenient pull-thrus. No greenery (typical for this area). Graveled interior. Would stay here again if needed on the way to somewhere. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice park with friendly, helpful staff. Easy access although their sign is hard to spot. Several nice pet areas where they can run off leash. Rate reflects a weekly rate. WiFi worked great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed one month, rate reflects this. No cable available, over air signal was not strong and wireless is extra. Large, easy access sites. Occasional highway noise, but aircraft noise was low and seldom noticed. Only real negative was smell from the sewage system at our site near the back of the park. Dog piles in areas outside the park, watch your step, but dog areas were well kept. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We spent two nights here during the Balloon Fiesta. Had to make reservations back in July. The RV park was packed with over fifty percent being seasonal and the rest being overnighters. The pull-through sites were large, gravel and mostly level. The electrical power and water pressure were good. Cable TV was out though. Roads were paved. Very nice pet area. My only gripe about The High Desert RV Park was the location. I-40 runs nearby and the road noise was noticeable, but the biggest problem for me was the airplanes. Right in the path of the airport in Albuquerque. It did seem to quit after midnight. Staff was friendly. If we go again to the Balloon Fiesta, would stay at the grounds were they launch the balloons. Not as nice, but don't have to deal with the traffic and airplanes. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We arrived after dark and the office was closed, so we followed the directions on the office sign which said to pick a spot and pay in the morning. Sites were gravel and nicely level, and we didn't have any trouble pulling through. Since we were staying overnight only, we didn't have time to check out anything other than the dumpster (yay, not overflowing) and the laundry/restrooms area. It took a bit to I.D. the restrooms as such...they look like little private cabins, since they are raised well above the ground and have cute names on their doors. Each proved to be a private, self-contained powder room with shower...a much appreciated change from the usual group showers/toilets. The steps, ramp, and deck area (even the railings) around the restrooms and laundry have non-slip surfaces applied to the wood. Only complaint was the fact that the office was still closed when we left early in the a.m. and, as there were no rates posted, we weren't sure how much we owed! We simply went with the price as noted in the previous review and deposited it in the night box before going on our way. The rest of the trip, however, we wondered if we paid too much (or too little). We would overnight here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We spent the night at High Desert RV Park en route from Arizona to Missouri, largely based on the good review of this park against the mediocre reports of the other RV parks nearby. (Also, we wanted to avoid staying in Gallup!) We weren't
disappointed. Although close to I-40, highway noise was not noticeable. That's because it is topographically lower than I-40, and the office facilities act as sound breaks. Dog facilities are very nice, but there's no grass (this IS the desert, after all). Sites are gravel. There are some long term residents, but they sre in a separate area. The staff is very helpful. You will need to know the length of your rig when you check in, so you can be placed in a space that's big enough. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park had only been open for about 2 weeks when we stayed there in November. It is located right next to American RV Park, and promises to be a very nice addition to a somewhat limited selection of parks in the Albuquerque area. Sites are spacious, level and well designed. Landscaping is young, but should be quite nice in a year or two. Excellent dog facilities!! The staff was very friendly and helpful in familiarizing us with the Albuquerque area. We will definitely stay there again, and look forward to seeing the park mature. We camped here in a camper.
If you have an RV plan on using the Gibson Gate. This is the gate that the city buses uses and it's much wider. We stayed in the new section - very wide gravel sites with plenty room to park your vehicle. They also have propane available by the office which is a plus. Well stocked commissary but somewhat small exchange. We will be back if we're in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
If you are told what to do about anything by a gruff and less than cordial camper who lives on the new side of the Kirtland AFB RV campground, please do a great service for current and future campers by sending a note about your interaction with this person to the Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) website: http://ice.disa.mil (click on Air Force, CONUS, Kirtland, and Facility Management). This camper’s site looks like she is homesteading there but she is not the campground host! The host lives on the older side of the park by the campground office (her site number is posted outside the office if you need assistance after hours, and she is quite pleasant). We were not the first people to be told by the gruff and less than cordial camper to not park our RV next to her site because it was reserved. In fact, the space is not reserved but she keeps placing parking cones there to keep campers from parking next to her! During our last stay at Kirtland a few months ago, this same woman actually told me to not bring my dogs into the dog park until she took her dogs out! I waited in my truck for the 5-10 minutes it took her to leave because I think I was too dumbfounded to do otherwise! There have apparently been more than several issues with this camper and people need to speak up by way of the ICE website so that complaints get to the proper officials. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The Kirtland AFB Famcamp is at least as good as many military famcamps but is not one of the best that we have visited. The sites are either blacktop or pea gravel, are moderately level and spacious ( new section only) and comes with a picnic table and FHU ( 30/50 amp ). They do NOT offer on site cable, modem hook ups or wi-fi. Our Verizon cell worked just fine but our my-fi card seemed to get interference from nearby Air Force electronic emissions. We experienced a similar wi-fi problem when we stayed at MacDill AFB Famcamp. The campground shower/bath house and laundry is small and very much substandard compared to many other military sites we have evaluated. The golf course is about two miles from the campground and is very reasonably priced. The PX and Commissary are well stocked. There are lots of things to do and see in this area but like all of the USAF campgrounds no reservations are accepted and it’s first come/first served. We observed that they do NOT uniformly enforce their two week rule in this park. Their office is closed on weekends and they post a list of open sites with available dates. We entered the base via the Eubank gate and it is very narrow and only open M-F from 6AM to 6PM. Use the Wyoming gate if entering/leaving any days/hours outside the above days/times. There is a small dog park but it’s not convenient ( distance wise ) if in the newer section as we were. The “goat heads” are plentiful and a real aggravation to pets when walking them outside the dog park area. We’d return and use the famcamp if in the area but I’d pay a couple of dollars more for improved campground amenities. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate is military discount. Wide, level, gravel sites: some sites have concrete pads. They also have overflow camping with only water. Some sites with picnic tables. Quiet even though it is an Air Force base and on the approach to Albuquerque Airport. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good location on the base, great views of the mountains and got an end site, so only a neighbor on one side, on the newer side of the park with gravel sites and gravel roads and no trees - quite dusty and very windy which of course couldn't be helped by the park. Large and spacious sites and new hook-ups. Near three gates for exit to various sights. Would recommend for big rigs and also to fellow military travelers. Near airport, but never really heard any air traffic noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We like this park: big lots and very friendly people. Would go back again. It also has a very nice pet walk and play area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Recently added 40 new sites, all very wide & long pull-throughs, no wifi, no catv, some sites have tables, a few sites have grills, 14 day limit, no weekly or monthly rate offered, bathhouse has only one commode & one shower per sex, often dusty/dirty due to unpaved roads in new area, responsive on-site host, easy access from I-40, good value for overnight stop, poor value for longer stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Available to military active duty, retirees, sponsored guests, DoD personnel. No reservations. Self-checking available after hourse. Gravel and some grass sites, number of sites reflects dry camping as well as with hook-ups. Only one shower for each gender for all sites available. Some noise expected from planes. Nice fenced, grassy dog park in NW corner with doggy bags and seating (no water). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Watch out for gopher holes under your landing gear and stabilizers. Some sites have the sewer hook-up on the opposite side of the RV from the water/electric. The base has a indoor pool and full support facilities i.e. gym, BX, commissary, clinic, gas station, craft shops, outdoor rec. etc. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We had bad vibes when we reserved a spot but came here anyway. Lady who took reservation was obviously new and asked the same questions over and over. They required the full amount of our one-day stay in advance with the reservation and quickly charged it to our card before our visit. When we arrived the site they had given us had been purposely given to another party who could stay longer, so we were given a much less desireable site near the office. The park is adequately maintained but showing its age with many permanent residents. Management is definitely lacking. This park is okay for a night, but we wouldn't stay there again unless a last resort. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Appears to be a former KOA (A-frame office) with mostly permanent residents in the relatively shady inner part of the park. There was a site available there, but it had tree issues (we're over 13 feet tall) so we opted for one of the pull-throughs in front that seem to be used for short stays. These are level dirt sites with full hookups (30 amps) overlooking an auto repair yard, with no trees whatsoever (and facing west). Probably around 45 feet long. There is a tent site adjacent to the front pull-throughs, in a small grassy area with lots of shade. Park is adequate for overnight or for a few days while visiting the area. It is at the end of the Central Avenue bus line, if public transportation is necessary. The RV parks farther west aren't on the bus line. $24.38 rate includes 10% Good Sam discount and 13.88% tax. This is what they quoted on the phone, but they didn't (but should) say it includes tax because it's pretty high. We camped here in a Motorhome.
