Clean and quiet. We were in space one which is nearest the highway and traffic noise was minimal. Management was excellent to work with, allowing us to select our own site. WI-FI was available and worked well. Very close to Lincoln, Fort Stanton, and Ruidoso Downs. Smokey Bear State Park is just across the street making it a very short walk. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a small all gravel park right in the center of Capitan. There are a few "permanent" residents. We would not have chosen this park had it not been late in the day. I rated it a 4 because it was over-priced for what you get. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stumbled onto this park after looking for and finding another one in town that was dismal. We backtracked the three miles west and had our doubts when we pulled in. The sites here are located throughout an open meadow. Spaces are gravel but relatively level. As undeveloped as it appears, electrical, water and sewer are very reliable. And the Internet is great -- very strong even at the back end of the park. We chose a spot (yes, if they aren't busy you can choose) adjoining an open space that goes on forever. It is totally silent here at night and the owners are very friendly and relaxed. It is very low key this time of year but the owner says it fills up in high season. One note that is not in the park owner's control is the wind. It is windy here this time of year. No place we have seen has much shelter from the wind but it really howls through here. Other than that, we really like this spot and would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
