Called ahead when we were about 20 minutes out. We were told to see the people in the CG Host unit. When we got there the park was still under construction. About half was partly done but the sites were absolutely bare gravel. The office is half built and we could get no answer at the hosts unit. The park looks pet unfriendly since it is between a residential area and Hwy 64. No obvious place to walk a dog. Once they get this park finished it may be better but it has a long way to go. We left and drove east to Bloomfield and a RV park there. That is closer to Chaco Culture anyway. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a brand new park. We were looking for a 50 AMP site that was convenient to Chaco Culture NP. The park is very clean with brand new bathrooms and showers. It is right off of Main Street, so there was some noise, but not too bad. Very close to gas station with convenience store and KFC. The only problem we had was that when we arrived, it seemed that nobody was around to register us. Finally another camper pointed us to where the host's site was. It was the second site down from the bathrooms. Didn't see a laundry room, but it looks like there are plans to expand the bathroom/shower building as well as adding more sites. This was a good place to stay to visit Chaco if you need 50 AMP. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
