We spent a perfect peaceful night here! Park was clean, quiet, and manager and owner were both very helpful and friendly!! Had many deer and turkeys around, with a small creek behind park. Sites were spotless. We would have spent more than one night but needed food and there were no stores in Mayhill. We will go back again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very attractive and well maintained park that is close to Cloudcroft. Large sites (some side by side) and some good shade trees. Very quite and off the highway. A peacefull place to stay a while! Park is a summer destination for full time campers who are getting away from the heat of surrounding areas (and states). Now for the downside - no cell phone service within about 10-15 miles of the park. No cable (bring your dish). No store at the park, and the nearest grocery store of any consequence is about an hours drive (better bring what you need). There is a small store within 2 miles that has some essentials. The full time summer guests pretty much stick together in their own little groups and take over the small recreation room at the park, so better bring your own friends with you! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park with large, level sites. Well kept - always busy in season. Good location, nice people. Can't say enough good about it. No store, and none close so shop before you come! Some of the sites are side-by-side, and I would try hard to avoid them. Otherwise - close to the top of my list of favorite places. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great mountain park, well run by friendly owners who are very responsive. WiFi works great and they have an excellent cable TV lineup. The folks here are religious and invite you to attend but there is no pressure at all. This place fills up in the summer mainly with senior citizen Texans escaping the summer heat. There is no pool, no meeting "room" and no cell service unless you buy a trucker's antennae and set up a special connection. Verizon signals do come through at the top of the main drive which is up on a small hill next to Highway 130. There is a small creek next to it called Rio Penasco where you can fish. There is an open air covered pavilion complete with stage and kitchen facilities where everyone congregates for the many summer activities. We went for 2 weeks and stayed a full month. Its a good central location for day trips of an hour in any direction. Would definitely return. Weekly rate is $100 and Monthly rate is $240. The Laundry Room has a game table where nightly card or domino games are played once the weather turns cooler. Propane is available at a competitive price. As others have said, there is no full fledged grocery store until you get to either Alamogordo or else Artesia. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice quiet campground. It bills itself as having a Christian atmosphere and discourages open consumption of alcohol. However, there is no overt display of religious symbols or activities that might bother some people. The owners are very friendly and always ready to help. There are some seasonal residents but there are no cluttered and messy sites seen at other parks that have annual and seasonal sites. We stayed here four nights because they have very dark and clear nightime skies; a must for my astrophotography. Unfortunately, it rained each night we were there and I did not get any photos. We would stay with them again and think that we got a lot of value for the campground fee. We camped here in a Motorhome.
