This is a nice campground used mainly by those fishing the nearby San Juan River. There isn't anything nearby to do. However, if you drive 15 miles to Aztec we would highly recommend touring Aztec Nat'l Monument. This campground has a two mile dirt road to it which would be very slippery if raining. The campground itself has paved roads and sites. There are some electric sites but only water spigots placed here and there. There is a dump station and flush toilets. The sites are reasonably spaced but because of the tree overhangs there aren't many for big rigs. However, Site #4 would accommodate you. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a fun family campground on the San Juan River in northern New Mexico. There is a short (1 + mile) dirt road into the campground, which gets bad if it has been raining. The sites are large enough for our 35" 5th wheel plus pickup, and we saw a couple of 40 footers in neighboring sites. There is ample room between sites. Note that you have to share water with several sites, so you have to fill your tank and disconnect. The birdwatching was amazing. We had several dozen hummingbirds at our feeders. There were finches, siskins and grossbeaks as well as numerous other birds. There is good fishing on the San Juan river, which is a very short walk from the campground. All sites have picnic tables; many are covered. Every site has a grill. There are fire rings, but it is a good idea to bring your own firewood. There is also a dump station at the campground. Be sure to use the state reservation system as this campground fills up quickly, and you cannot count on space being available, especially on the weekends. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
