Even though it is in the city it is nicely insulated from traffic noise. Near shopping centers. Sites are 35 feet wide with picnic tables on concrete pads. A fire grill is included on each site as is trash pickup. Trash could be picked up more often however. Small playground equipment. Paved access roads with gravel sites. The sewer hookup on the pull through sites was at the roadside, making it difficult to stretch the hose to the outlet without the back end of the unit being a bit in the road. The staff is very friendly. The campground is a bit difficult to find with an access road back from the highway, not clearly marked. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had several problems with this park. The first was because they had no sign on the street. We passed the park and had to find a place to turn around. The park is on a very busy street behind a small shopping center and very hard to find with no sign. Next, the tree on our site needed to be trimmed. I told the manager about it and she told me this was the wrong time of the year to trim trees. We worked 30 minutes trying to get backed in and not hit the air conditioner, vent cover and slide. Also had to try to get as close as possible to the sewer, it was at the very back of the site. The park goes down hill from the street and most sites are not level from side to side. After the park gets your money, they don't care how inconvenienced you are. Streets are paved and there are a lot of speed bumps. Sites are gravel/dirt. Maintenance is minimual. The wifi was free, sometimes it worked okay, other times it was very slow. Location is the best thing this park has going for it. Santa Fe really does need a good RV park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very convenient to the center of Santa Fe. Recommend asking for site in the upper half, either center pull thrus or back-ins to the right. WIFI may work there, it doesn't at the lower end of the park. Also a number of really awful raggedy perm. trailers down in the lower left corner. Friday night was party night for them. A bike was stolen that nite as well. Not ours as they were locked. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the sites in the 90's, even the one recommended above. There is an open road out the back of the park allowing access to anyone. Overall a clean park and improvement/maintenance was in progress while there. I would use it to be close in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in August of 2003. We were repeat customers from 2001, and although the other review here from 2001 isn't from us, we would have rated it about the same. What a difference a couple of years makes! Almost all of the full time residents who were all over the park in 2001 (many of who were somewhat scary) are no longer there. The pool is now clean, and the overall place seems much cleaner and well kept. There's a trash can on each site which is very convenient. There's even a DSL connection in the office for fast email downloads. I think this is the most conveniently located RV park in Santa Fe, and fortunately now it's now very pleasant to stay in. We'll be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very old park with mostly fulltimers who are still working. Diesel trucks leave the park at 5am. Kids that live in the park speed. Dogs run lose. Sites are extremely hard to pull into. Very overpriced. Advertised as a resort which is a laugh. No gravel-all dirt We camped here in a camper.

Overall pretty decent, even for the "off" season. The roads are very windy and I had to go around a few times to get to the right spot. All dirt so I don't know what happens in the rain. We liked it and would return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful well planned and laid out park. Shaded areas, pet walks, friendly staff. Very clean, plenty of garbage cans, friendly people who know how to treat their pets. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Well I must agree that Rancheros has a campground atmosphere and is not a typical big rig paved parking lot. Most sites are shaded and separated from your neighbors by small trees. There is a nice walking trail and the place is always clean and quiet. If you ask for help, the staff will direct you to the most level position on your site. I like being far enough out of town to feel like I’m camping in the high, cool and dry NM hills. GPS: 35deg 32.737' N; 105deg 51.889' W We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Be sure of what you're getting into before you give up your credit card number! In 4 years of motorhome travel, we have never left a campground before the time we had paid for--but tried to leave this one. Unfortunately, the policy (not explained on the telephone when I reserved 2 hours before arrival) is to give no refunds past 11 am the day PRIOR to the reservation. No flexibility, even though we were placed on a 30 amp, unlevel site when I had requested 50 amp. I will say they offered another site, but we couldn't get the motorhome in it due to trees and a telephone limiting turn radius. Once we got back on the 30 amp site, we discovered how impossible it was to level. Yet a third site was offered, but by that time we didn't want to keep jockeying the motorhome around. The manager was courteous but displayed no sympathy to our distress. This campground should be great for tent camping under the stars! And the work campers were extraordinarily pleasant and kind. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very run down old KOA. The roads were very tight for our rig and we do not even have a toad. The first site they put us in was impossible to get level. We complained and they moved us to a better one. But there were obvious long term / permanents residents all over. We had to back out of our pull through because of their stuff all over. I would do this for an overnight again in a pinch but that's about it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Despite the webpage, wi-fi is not available throughout the camping area. In order to receive usable wi-fi, you must sit at the building across from the office. The staff is not overly friendly, and, at times, rude. Over the telephone, one staff member twice gave me a lecture on not keeping my dog in a cabin unattended before she even confirmed whether there was a cabin available for me. When you enter the office, the staff does not necessarily greet you in a friendly manner. While the cabins and restrooms are relatively clean, they are not overly clean. I actually cleaned my cabin before placing my belongings inside. This campground charges for a cup of coffee, something I am used to getting for free at all other campgrounds. When I was there, the pool was not usable. As is evident, my stay there was a little bit of a disappointment. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

Not a bad park. We camped here for 3 nights. There is a lot of highway noise and it was very dusty. The restrooms do close for a couple of hours each day for cleaning and that was a little annoying if you have to go during those hours. Staff was friendly. I would stay there again, if I had to. Very nice Cg close to Santa Fe, but secluded enough that it did not feel like a city Cg. Very clean facilities, great playground and pool. Would definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here 3 times in the last 3 years. We have a 36 ft MH and have never had a problem getting into our site. We love the trees, and the noise is minimal. It's also convenient to the historic downtown area and the staff is friendly and helpful. And our favorite part is the amazing number of stars you can see at night. Not a lot of amenities, but we're here to sight see, so who cares? We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground would be ok for small units and tents. We have a 37' 5th wheel and a long bed tow truck and since this was an overnight stop only we asked for a pull through at $5 extra. Since no one escorted you to your site I had to get out twice to ensure we were going to clear the trees on the narrow roads and the sharp turns. The rig next to us was parked several feet too far forward so we and several others had to back out of the pull through. Will not stay there again. Bath house is older but clean. No movies when we were there. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

My rating reflects use by a couple with a 40 ft diesel Motorhome. We asked for a site suitable for a 40ft Motorhome and were assigned to a "pull through" with 50amp power/water /sewer. The road to this site was narrow and included a sharp 180 turn that required a three point turn. Luckily I had unhooked the Jeep, but the next couple did not unhook and had fight to unhook on the turn. Also I would not call it a pull through for a large rig. I saw one fifth manage to pull through, but they had nobody in the site next to them. Everybody else, including myself, had to back out. There just isn't enough room to make it a pull though. On the plus side the WIFI was very good. Signal showed weak, but it maintained a good connection at all times. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are easy to please and over many days this was the only CG in AZ/NM we were not pleased with. First, the good is that there are some nice views and the staff initially nice. Pleasant smell with small juniper trees throughout. Unfortunately, very uneven sites and on this I wish we had heeded some previous reviews. The "pool" is very small and the "movie" theatre is just a small TV set up in front of a few chairs. Staff nice at first but not responsive about poor restroom condition. We moved on after one night to the KOA up the road and found it much more satisfactory in every way (including price!). We camped here in a Tent.

This is one of our favorite parks. This was our second visit to the park. Large rigs should request a pull through or back in in the fron of the park. The staff was very friendly and knew the area well. Our site was well shaded and private with great views of the sunset just off the back of our trailer. Restrooms and showers were very nice and kept very clean. It's and easy drive to downtown. We wouldn't consider another campground in Santa Fe. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed this campground because it does not have a "parking lot" feel. We have camped in town on Cerrillos Road before, but we preferred the quiet, wooded setting here, and found that the distance to Old Town Santa Fe was about the same. Also closer to fishing on the Pecos River and Pecos National Monument. Staff friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and showers very clean. Free Wi-fi reception was good at our site, but heavily wooded sites towards rear might not get as strong a signal. Site was level and 50 amp service adequate. Hiking trail(about 1 mile long) on property a plus. Grocery store and shopping mall 2 miles away. Several good restaurants within a few miles of campground. The campground is located on a service road that is set back about 1/4 from I-25, so highway noise was not a problem for us. This is one of the more scenic parks we have camped in and will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wish we had paid more attention to previous reviewer here who warned that more scenic, water & electric only sites beyond the front of the park were narrow and a bit hard to get to. Many, many of the non-full hook-up sites are ridiculously unlevel as well as fairly close to neighbors. Not sure why they would assign someone to the space right next to us when the park had dozens and dozens of open sites. Inexperienced office staff gave us directions to pull into our site from the wrong direction and we took some scratches on the low trees; we could not get close to level and requested a new site but still had to block three wheels. Bathrooms and showers were clean and well-kept. Liked the view from our site and the smell of the pine trees; loved the free WI-FI and the location just outside of Santa Fe. Really wanted to like this place more but next time I would try the KOA just up the street. Similar scenic views, and trees but much better spaced, more level sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here 4 times now over the past 2 years, it just keeps getting better. The staff is always very helpful and friendly, the facilities are clean and well maintained. The owners seem to be updating and redoing the grounds and sites as needed to accomadate bigger rigs and units. There are many wonderful sites among the Pinion Pines and most of the park is well shaded. The park is pet friendly and even has a Doggie Corral play area. During summer months they show a movie each night for the guests (free)and on Sunday mornings they offer a pancake breakfast that is both outstanding and very reasonable. Despite another posting about the area, there are several excellent restaraunts, shops, a grocery store and 2 gas stations that are all very close to the park. All in all this is 1 nice RV Park, that we enjoy returning to. We camped here in a Motorhome.

More of a campground feel than a parking lot. Spent a week here. Enjoyed not being "in town" but minutes away from everything. Quiet and scenic. Staff was very friendly. One staff member went out of his way to assist my son with a flat tire on his bike. Movie was on a TV but it was more about the comraderie than the movie. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

One of the few parks that is more "campground" than RV park. Call ahead if you have a large rig, as few sites can accomodate them. Swimming pool is small, and sites are really too close together. Bathrooms/showers not as clean as most I've been to, but not really dirty. WiFi was owner-installed without a real knowledge of site-wide wifi coverage, and this results in poor or no signal at the edges of the park; if wifi is important, try to get a site near the office. They have a small theater in which they show movies to all that wish to attend. Scenic park, but expensive: charges for children unjustified. With the WiFi problems and excessive charges I will not return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall, this is a nice campground. Staff was friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean. The sites are close together and the roads are narrow so unless you want to park right up front, big rigs might have trouble getting into the more scenic spots. Tenters note - this is one of the few CGs in Santa Fe that allows tents so if you want to be near the city, this is the place. There are also several good looking cabins available, although management doesn't allow pets in the cabins. Don't look for any restaurants or service stations nearby because there aren't any within ten miles.Ads say there is no city noise but there is definitely road noise because this campground runs parallel to I-25. New Mexico has been going through a severe drought the last several years and when I camped here there was a lot of restoration of trees and vegetation going on. All in all, this is a good overnite or base camp if you're going to be spending a lot of time in Santa Fe. We camped here in a Tent.

When we go to Sante Fe, this is where we stay. Conveniently located, clean and nice people. The sites are a little close; however, we are usually gone during the day. The pinion trees smell wonderful. Movies and pancake breakfast at a good price really makes the stay enjoyable.On our last stay, a camper in a cabin pulled out his guitar and sang us to sleep! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

When I think of a typical KOA this park comes to mind. Staff was friendly & helpful. Park is built into natural setting without altering it. Park is very dusty. Park roads are narrow & turns tight for a big rig as we rubbed vegetation. Roads & sites are dirt. Sites are narrow, but some are long enough to accommodate big rig & tow vehicle. Our slide was a foot from neighbor's table. Utilities are modern & well placed. This campground needs to make some capital improvements. I would suggest graveling roads & sites and adding concrete patios. We observed nothing to make us believe they are adding a pool. We felt park was very overpriced as it is 12 miles from tourist area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wow, this place is beautiful! Their customer service is impeccable. I wish they'd had a swimming pool but we learned that there will be one here by the end of this summer. Their sites are all dirt/gravel but then again so is every other park here in Santa Fe. The trees provide very nice privacy between the sites and the weather here is incredible. You are aways out from the shopping in the heart of Santa Fe, but the drive is pretty and not difficult at all. They are liberal with their maps and are happy to give you any directions you might need. We decided to stay an extra night here and the office staff was very accommodating to our request even though they had to move another person. We promise to be back! Will recommend this park to anyone and everyone! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is very nice. However, all sites are dirt. It could be a problem with dust when the wind comes up and probably could get a little muddy when the snow melts or they have some rain. However, being here in April with cold mornings, we didn't have a problem. The sites have a picnic table and either a grill on a post or a campfire ring. The sites are separated by either a small fence or small trees. We did have to put a block under the wheel to level our rig. It is quiet and I like the "country feel". The staff was very helpful and friendly. We were escorted to our site because it did make a difference in how you pulled in. They also let us use their phone when our cells wouldn't work. The laundry room was clean and the machines worked. Their store was pretty well stocked. The cable reception was excellent as was the Wi-Fi connection (which was free). The campground is on a frontage road and is about 10 miles from Santa Fe. The staff was very helpful in telling us how to get to Santa Fe and where to park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

An excellent clean campground that is easily accessible off the frontage highway to I-25. Very little road noise. Quiet and clean. Staff was very helpful. Even though we arrived just at closing, they cooked a pizza for us and delivered it to our 5th wheel. The only weakness to the campground was no gravel in the campsites but rather a dirt base. This weakness was made up for by the campgrounds' proximity to Santa Fe and the numerous cedars/pinions in the campground. Wi-Fi was free! We stayed two nights and will definitely return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent KOA. We have camped here on five different trips and will come back anytime we are in Santa Fe. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. The showers and bathroom are immaculate and have plenty of hot water. People sometimes complain about the dust, but hey, this is the Southwest and dust comes with the territory! I would much rather have dust than have to camp on a paved surface in an RV park that looks like a parking lot. We also greatly appreciate that this KOA doesn't light up the campground like a prison at night. You can actually see the stars! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice campground, nice, helpful people too. The campground is well maintained and close to various sights. Hummingbirds flying around the shop/office and you can even have a seat in front of the shop where background music is playing. Great sun set views, the only thing missing is a swimming pool but at night the temperature drops below the 80's so cooling of isn't a problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are desert dirt and dusty roads, but this is pretty much the norm in this area. The staff are very nice and lead you to your site. The store and restrooms are nice and the rec room is a metal building were they show a movie at night and have some games and pool table. It was quiet and we had no problems, for a overnight stay it's acceptable. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites were tight and dusty as you might expect in the desert. Nice gift shop, pizza available to your door, and nice movie theatre for kids at night. Wireless was totally undependable and needs to be addressed. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a good park and is well maintained. The sites are gravel & dirt and things can get a little dusty with traffic moving around the campground or in the wind. Some of the sites are a little tight - our 27ft travel trailer fit our site well, but the fellow next to us had problems positioning his camper so that his slide-outs would fit. Be sure that the office knows your needs. As with most commercial campgrounds, we wish the sites had more room between them; our next door neighbors on each side were friendly, but we didn't want to get to know them THAT well. The utilities on the sites are in good shape, but the wi-fi was a little spotty even though we were pretty close to the office; good enough for e-mail and some light internet use. The owners/managers are friendly and eager to provide information about places to go and things to see in the area. This campground has easy access from I-25 and is about 9 miles east of Santa Fe. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A very enjoyable experience with pleasant and helpful staff, very clean facilities and good wi-fi coverage. The only reason I rated it 9 instead of 10 is that there is no cell phone coverage for Verizon customers. Other cell phone providers appear to be usable. This campground occasionally has other services available. For example, some nights you can order pizza and have it delivered to your site. Also, one night there was a band playing on the patio area. I highly recommend this campground. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

Great pet area, a little too far out of town for convenience, poor wifi, nice clean sites, great staff and clean facilities, would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This KOA is not great for big rigs - pretty tight in some areas. Sites are not particularly level. All gravel sites and drives. Nice store, and a small playground. The staff was friendly, and the campground was very clean, and had freshly planted flowers at most sites. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a typical KOA. Sites are right on top of each other, but I will admit that this is one of the nicer KOA's I've stayed at. Easy access to I-25 and downtown Santa Fe. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for six nights and found it to be very good for a stay of that length. Convenient to both I-25 and Santa Fe, friendly people, and clean. Wifi signal was very strong in our site, D-1. I think the transmitter was in the game room next door. The Wifi went down twice during our stay, but they restarted it right away when I told them. The reason I only rated this site as an 8 is the narrow sites. We were on the big rig row. The sites are long enough but right next to each other. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The sites were nice but very tight with trees. We ended up scratching our RV on both sides due to tree limbs hanging into campsite. I liked the Pizza delivery idea however after we recieved it we realized it was just Frozen pizza by Dijourno (SP)! 10 bucks for a three dollor pizza! It would have been nice to have known that ahead of time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were so happy with this park that we extended our stay, and plan to return here on the way home. The office staff (all family members) are as varied in their efficiency as any family. The "Grandma" in charge is a sharp, witty, and informative lady (she prefers Grandma to Mrs. Brown). Our dog was happy to walk the trail around the park with us, and the sites and roads (gravel) are wide and big rig friendly. Some sites have patios (extra charge), and the water pressure is less than one might expect, but this is Santa Fe, and water is at a premium. The location of this park (Route 599 + I25) is perfect for getting around and in Santa Fe. You can by-pass and go north to Taos and the casinos, or go in any direction on a limited access road. There is a condo/home development being constructed adjacent to this property, which should provide additional traffic, but I don't think it will alter the fantastic views (it is downhill). We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall not a bad place, clean and quiet, but the sites were right on top of each other in the section we stayed in, because we stayed a full week to check out the area I found this to be an issue, for an extended stay I would give a 6 for an overnight stop I would give it an 8. Campground staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were OK and rather small. Shower water pressure was low and often switched from cool to scalding with no notice. Great location, very quiet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This KOA was very conveniently located to Santa Fe and area attractions. The showers and rest rooms were very clean, the playground was great for the kids. All the sites were at least partially shaded, some of the pull throughs were a little too narrow but overall we were very happy with our stay here and would stay again. A pool would have been nice (says our daughter), there was a little traffic noise and the water pressure in the showers was a little low. Compared with other KOA's we have stayed at this one was very good but not quite a "10". We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We are brand-new to RVing, and we drove to this campground 20 minutes after getting our new travel trailer, so an easy-access, pull-through place was very important to us! That's just what we found here, along with helpful staff and pleasant surroundings. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We moved here after finding a campground (a mile or 2 down the same road unacceptable and had a terrific stay here. Staff incredibly helpful. Sites have many trees but are typically the short junipers found in this area. We had a "roomy" site. Convenient to Santa Fe (15 min) and to Pecos National Forest (15 min). We camped here in 2005 as part of a long trip and it was one of our nicest places. Would go back if in area. We camped here in a Tent.

The Santa Fe KOA is easy to find on the frontage road adjacent to I-25. There is little traffic noise. On the expensive side for an overnight. Set in natural landscape, each site has a picnic table, grass, trees, and several have flower boxes set in the ground. Some have barbeque grills. Each site had electrical, water, modem and dump available. Sites were a little tight for a class A - long enough but barely wide enough between the trees. That said, the entire campground had many trees except for the pull through sites. Smaller campsites were tucked in between the trees. The staff is smiling, friendly and helpful without exception. If you get there before 8pm, fresh baked pizza is available delivered to your site. Good pizza, too. The park is immaculate. There is a pet walk with a 3-foot fence, where you may let your dog off leash. Ours is too big to let off leash in that space, but the area is kept very clean and odor free. Rottweilers, Dobermans and Pit Bulls not allowed here. This was our first RV camping stop and it was an outstanding experience. Future campgrounds have a lot to live up to! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fairly typical KOA on the outskirts of Santa Fe just off I25. The small trees typical of the area don't give much shade. As with most KOAs, sites are fairly small and cramped. Good showers and restroom and typical KOA store. Rec room with modem hookup. Dump station and propane. Closes for the winter. Location on the South side of town is inconvenient if you plan to visit Taos, Los Alamos, or other sites to the north. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
