We recently stayed here the week of the 4th of July. It is probably the prettiest park we have ever camped at. Our site backed up to Lake Ontario and we had a beautiful sunset all 4 nights that we were here. There were 2 shower houses, one was old and the shower would not run warm and you would push a button and it would run for about a minute and then turn off and then you would have to push it again. The second bath house had 2 showers and they had wonderful warm water and good water pressure. They were always clean, but on 2 of the days we were here the women's bathroom stunk. We had a roaming phone signal, we had Sprint, our friends had Verizon. If we lost the signal we would sometimes pick up a signal coming out of Canada and would have issues connecting. Had to go to the campstore on a few occasions to be able to call out. This campground does have electric and water but the water is not placed within easy reach. Ours was on a spigot with our neighbors and we had to run 2 hoses under the trailer to be able to connect. There is a lighthouse on the grounds, and the lady working there was very friendly and spent time with us giving a tour. We used this as a base for touring Niagara as it was about a 45 minute drive to the falls. We were able to use our parking pass at the state park at the falls and saved $10 a day. If we are ever back in the area we will stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice choice of sites in a beautiful location. Friendly staff. They have hiking trails and lots of playgrounds for the kids. There is a visitors' center building that has tables for games and a book trade. Washer and dryer available for camper use. 44 miles from Niagara Falls. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice small New York State Park. Restored lighthouse on grounds; tours available. Lake view sights are rather close together, but we were able to get a 40 foot motorhome in and leveled. Some sites along lake are grass. Good location to base exploration on Niagara Area, including Niagara Falls, of New York State. Some organized events scheduled during summer. We camped here in a Motorhome.
