A return visit for us. Nice, no frills campground but not near anything. Steep and windy entrance. Big rigs need to be careful of the s-turns. We used the campground as a "base" to visit New York City (55 miles) and to do laundry. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Campground was adequate. The drive up and down to/from the highway and campground was about as steep as I want to try. However, the road was recently re-paved, and it was no problem. The staff was efficient, and we had no issues with our time at the campground. The campsite was in a large gravel U-shaped area that we had to back into at a diagonal, but we did that with no problem. We had a view of the lake. We were there to see the USMA at West Point and the campground served its purpose. We would do it again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice campground, but the road up to it can be a challenge for larger RVs. Site areas are not marked and staff not very helpful in ensuring you know where to go. The CG is beautiful with a mountain lake setting and lots of activities to include lake swimming, volleyball and hiking. If we were to return to the West Point area we would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice campground and a good place to spend a few days. No satellite TV access but local channels off our digital antenna was adequate. The facility is relatively old but it is in very good shape and well care for. The drive up to the campground off the highway was fairly steep but the road is recently paved and we had no trouble towing our Honda in our 40' motorhome. The office personnel were friendly and efficient and it was no trouble getting into our campsite. The campsite could have been cramped but it was only 1/2 full. It again was adequate and we had a nice view of the lake. The campground was very convenient for spending the day at West Point touring the grounds and seeing the terrific museums on campus. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
