This campground was just opening for the season. Very friendly welcome. Excellent water pressure, excellent Wi-Fi, good Verizon signal, easy utility connections. Good-sized and level gravel pull-throughs for transients. Family friendly with large swaths of grass and playground. Very rural location that was quiet. Close to cool lakefront town of Sodus Point and Chimney Bluffs State park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground didn't seem as neat and clean as other campgrounds we have stayed in, but all utilities worked fine, no complaints. The campground is very kid and pet friendly. We arrived on a busy weekend and learned quickly to drive slow because of children everywhere. A "Soc-hop" was very well attended on Saturday night - adults enjoyed the music and kids danced. It is a distance from major roads, so is very quiet at night. Lots of seasonals, but plenty of sites for those staying only a few days as well. Sodus Point, nearby, is worth visiting - a beautiful area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The owner was very friendly and helpful on arrival even letting us in early because I had miscalculated our time of arrival. The park is nicely layed out with seasonals around the perimeter and dailies in the center with very level and nice sized sites. The electric and water was very good. The showers and bathhouses were clean and modern with nice showers. The area did not have very many attractions so its a nice park to relax and enjoy the weather. We would definitely return in the future. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We camped here for convenience to home as a getaway--manager took over property from her family and does everything and it shows--runs ice cream shop, too. Pool was clean and ready for use on opening Memorial Day. We stayed in a huge cabin with three beds in the back, rear exit, little toilet, kitchen, microwave, full fridge, uncomfortably couch, screens didn't work in some areas. Great activities for kids/adults and not too noisy. No place to fish at all, not convenient to any stores. We would return simply for the relaxation of the fire and friendliness. The cabins are 2 and rustic and need some updating as walls warped and critters/bees underneath and around. A/C provided and comfy during hot nights. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.
Was pleasantly surprised as we pulled in from a NYS booklet and found this place. The management was friendly, helpful, vigilant and the grounds were well-kept. Although it was off-season and quiet, it seemed like they managed things well and it would be a nice place to stay any time of the year. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park not far from Sodus Point and the lake. Many of the camp inhabitants are longer term campers. Wireless internet for 1 hr/1 time sign on free and then pay available for longer. Little waterfall in Wolcott to view nearby. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have camped here several times and love it. The wooded sites are great for shade and having our dog with us. Sewer sites are large, don't smell. My brother rented the large cabin, it was clean, modern and had a nice screened in porch. The bathrooms are spotless, the $5.00 for a key seems to help, more places should follow suit. Seasonal people are friendly, and so is the store staff. Driveway needs some work, but the crew is always working around there. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Rate shown is for PA. Our rating is relatively low because they put PA members in a sloping grassy center section. In our case this was not good since after all the serious rains they had been having we got stuck in the grassy muck at the site they assigned us. Campground staff was pleasant about pulling us out (4X4 truck only) with their tractor. Lots of seasonals around the perimeter but fairly well kept up. TV reception was marginal. No Wi-Fi. Our Verizon phone and wireless were both OK. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is my wife and I annual "kick off camping season" go to park starting Memorial Day weekend every year. The rear "W" section of this park for transient campers is one of the nicest CG's you will find. Huge private shaded sites with water and 30amp electric. Either stone or grass pads that are long and level. The shower house and toilets are kept spotless. You need a key to get in (upon check in you rent one for $2 which you get back on check out) which I guess is to keep the kids out. Extremely friendly owners who keep a eye on everything to ensure your stay is enjoyed. Closet CG to Lake Bluffs State Park and magnificent walking trail along Lake Ontario. A bonus, a winery across the road from the state park with very good white wines and a super owner! My only regret is this Memorial Day weekend we will not be staying here because the place was booked by Jan! Word must be spreading that it is truly a very nice place to enjoy the outdoors, Sodus Bay 3/4 mile away with a couple of great waterfront restaurants with decks right on the lake, just beautiful. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were there on a rainy Columbus Day weekend with a bunch of other families. We really didn't use the amenities but did enjoy the karaoke on Saturday. New owners have taken over this year but much needs to be done with the sites themselves. There were puddles and mud everywhere. Some stone and some grading would do wonders. The staff is friendly and we plan to return. Hopefully they will put some stone down for the sites to keep everyone from getting stuck. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Well maintained CG. Family owned and operated. Ownership not afraid to return money to the upkeep and improvement of the park. Close to Lake Ontario... excellent fishing, golfing and other attractions nearby. Mostly grassy near-level & partially shaded sites. Many seasonals. Activities for the kids and a small, well stocked store. We camped here in a camper.
