This park is mostly permanent resident and temporary workers. The staff was friendly and helpful with information in the area. Would not recommend this park for Big Rigs 40 or over. Our 36ft motorhome was too large for most sites. We stayed here for a one night stop over on our way though N.C. Would consider staying again if in the area, but only as a stop over. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Heavily shaded park, very convenient to Hendersonville and shopping. Extremely nice owners who seem dedicated to improving the park. Mostly permanents but very well-maintained. Residents are very quiet. Transient pull-through sites are a little short for really big rigs and there are some tight turns, but nothing we couldn't deal with. Bathhouse was rustic but very clean. Laundromat has two washers and one dryer, but there is a place to hang clothes outdoors. Road noise not bad. Nice rec room with pool table, game tables and book swap. Some cable channels were fuzzy but were able to bring in several channels over the antenna. Internet was spotty. We enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Excellent location. 2nd year managers that have been updating the park to make it more friendly and hospitable. Lots are clean and easy to maneuver on. Good amenities (Wi-Fi actually works). Will always stay here when I have the opportunity. It is best to make reservations early because so many people want to stop there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
An old established park with very friendly and helpful management. Lots of shade trees. Plenty of shopping and eating places nearby. Very clean showers and restrooms. A lot of seasonal residents that come back year after year and very friendly. Will rent there anytime I am in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Quaint little park, and I do mean little. We have a 40 foot fifth wheel and we did get around, but it was tight. The site we were on was not very level side to side. The park is quiet, the staff friendly and helpful. You have paved roads and mostly gravel sites. Some have a concrete pad and picnic table. This is an excellent location. You are close to several historic towns and attractions. The major downside to this park: it is mostly comprised of older, permanent residences. Many are run down and unsightly. Having said that, we would stay here again. We would request a site on the lower level of the park. They are nearer to a busy street, but the sites are level pull-throughs and have easy street access. We had two nights at $26 due to Campclub discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We made reservations at this park on the recommendation of friends who live in the area. It is an over-55 park with many seasonal residents who are friendly and welcoming. The lots and grounds are well-maintained as are all park models and travel rigs. There is even a local farmer who brings fresh produce to a stand at the back of the park; weigh your own and pay on the honor system. This is Apple Valley and apple orchards, vineyards and wineries are plentiful. The park offers beautiful views of the surrounding area--mountains, orchards, berry fields, etc.--and has easy access to many nearby attractions. The rate posted reflects our monthly rate as we plan to stay here until closing at the end of October. Owners/Managers are delightful, accommodating and helpful. We will definitely visit the park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here a couple weeks. Close to shopping and downtown, easy off of I-26. Only a couple pull through sites, but the back-ins are spacious and easy to get into. Had great cable and decent wi-fi, and hook-ups were all in decent shape. Very nice and friendly staff. Lot of permanent residents here. No complaints. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Mostly seasonal sites but they do have about 20 or so daily sites. They were rated 5 stars but filled in their pool. Has a nice clubhouse with pool table but little else for children. Seasonal sites are well kept with mostly newer units here. Most seasonal owners are "seasoned" citizens. As a result the park is very quiet. Residents are very friendly. A good park to use as a base but a better park for seasonal rental with attractive rates. The owner is very caring and friendly but not overly nosey. Each site has a concrete pad and lots of shade. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Red Gates RV Park and Campground was so relaxing and beautiful. They have a large lake and we took one of the boats (they provided) out on the lake to do some fishing. It was wonderful. They have a shuffle board court and other fun things to do. The owners are super friendly and even had a big 4th of July cookout for everyone at the park. I was so surprised. The bathrooms are always clean. There is a laundry facility on site as well as lending library for games. We were only here for the weekend but will definitely return for a more lengthy stay now that we discovered this gem. If you want to visit Western North Carolina, this is the place to stay. If I could add one thing I think it would be a walking trail in the woods around the property. That would have made it perfect. I walked my dogs on the road through the property, but I'm a hiker and could have used more trails (of course, there are plenty of hiking trails I discovered around the area!) We camped here in a Motorhome.
I was a bit suspicious that this is not listed in any big guide and then that were no reviews listed in two years, but went ahead to give it a try. Yes, probably over half of the sites are permanent or used on weekends with the rigs stored on the site. The "pond" and "beach" are not useable. We had the last empty site, and while very large, it was tight getting in, but someone helped direct us. The bathrooms and showers were basic, but cleaned. Laundry had one washer and dryer, but was fine. The campground has trees, shade and lots of grass. Good picnic tables, but no fire rings. I will say we had a bad rainstorm while here and it washed out part of the road into the park. The owner had a back-hoe and leveled it IMMEDIATELY, conscious of the importance. The location is excellent, about 10 mins. from Hendersonville and 30 min. from Asheville, close to shopping and grocery stores. Would definitely stay here again. Good Wi-Fi, got 6-7 stations with our antenna. Just nothing fancy. It was pay for six nights, get the seventh night free. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for two weeks and enjoyed every minute. Brown rabbits hopped around, lots of birds flitted about and sang, and it was very, very peaceful. The camp manager was extremely pleasant and helpful. The only downside was no Internet access, but we went to the library to use their's. We had breakfast at the Fireside Restaurant and Pancake Inn one morning; it was excellent and only about 2 miles from the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Even though this is a small park, it is one of the best we have found in Hendersonville. This is a family owned and operated park, and the whole family is very concerned for their campers and makes us all feel like family. Yes there are some rules, but they are there for all of us. If your looking for a 5 star resort with all the amenties, you need to go elsewhere. This park is quiet, friendly, secure, laid back and wonderful and don't miss the campfires and potlucks. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

There are 20 sites, 11 of which are permanent. The park itself is very nice with a small pond for swimming and fishing, but the owners are relentless. They come and check to see who is there and charge extra for visitors. I think they even check to see if you have broken any blades of grass. One owner is called the camp Nazi. I could not get out of this park fast enough. We felt like intruders the whole time we were there. The few waterfront sites they have are tied up longterm. No facilities for children and other than the pond, none for adults. The only thing really attractive about the park is the location We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We came here over the Thanksgiving holiday and ended up not staying after the first night. There is really nothing for kids to do here and we could not see staying for 5 days with my family. The owners were very nice and the campground seems very well kept but just not what we were looking for. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The park is very close to Henderson and apple houses. However, in a 40' motorhome we had problems parking. Trees on both sides of the site available and we were never able to get our coach level. The owner helped us park then told us he was going to shut the water off due to possible freeze that night. I asked if we could disconnect water hose and let water drip but we were told no. He also shut off water to bathrooms. I checked "don't know" on pull through sites as we did not see any and the web site does not show any. The owners were very nice but for the price we will not be returning. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a small park with plentiful room between sites, easy back-ins, and very friendly owners live on site. They are hooked up to city water, are located one mile off I-26 at the Upward Road Exit, and an easy drive straight in to Town. Concrete pads are next to the parking spaces, and the grass is cut across the park. We decided to stay until after Thanksgiving, as the fall colors are gorgeous. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
