This Campground Closed Jan 08. Most of Campers moved to "Long Leaf Pine Oasis" (About 15 miles away). This campground is becoming a Hospice Center. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have just confirmed that this park is closed. The phones have been disconnected, the web site is down and there are no signs. We believe this had been in the works but the final deal was sudden. We have no idea what happened to the campers that were "monthlys" but they had to go somewhere. Not sure what will happen to this property but guess it will be developed with homes as this is prime real estate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park host is the same, an un-happy person. Park is not bad, asphalt roads with speed bumps. Sites are a mixed bag with some gravel and some no gravel, some close to level and some way off level. Sites are close side to side. Number of pine trees to park under. Modem line is a pain to use at bathhouse, no place to sit. Camp fires are OK here. Rates were on Passport for one night only, also will take Good Sams. Check before you come here. Per our nice host park will close down very soon, same story two years ago. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The campground was very good for a place to be while we visited friends and played some golf. Reasonably priced. Satellite was available from our site but many trees requires picking a site carefully. Other comments posted about the hosts being less than polite was not a problem. We only spoke to them when we registered and we had no problems while we were there. We would definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Upon entering the campground, we were greeted with snarling management/owners! The campground itself is ok, but the people who run it are terribly nasty! Unfortunately, it's the only campground near Pinehurst. We were given a pull through site our first night, then found it necessary to stay in the area two extra days. When we asked if we could book another two nights, the management made us move to a "back in" site. Just two sites away from our original. The water connection was broken and there was no picnic table. Meanwhile, nobody ever did move into our "empty" site. Also, there is no camp office or camp store. The owners operate out of their RV, parked near the park entrance. In all our years of camping, they were by far the most rude and unfriendly folks we've met. I would never stay here again. The couple staying in the site next to us had a motorcycle with them and said they were told they could only drive to and from their site, not around the campground at all. The Pinehurst area itself is wonderful and most people in this town will show you true southern hospitality. Just don't expect it at this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the second time we stayed at this campground. We were there to visit relatives. The campground is generally clean and is close to a large number of golf courses. We agree with previous reviewers that the managers need a significant amount of customer service training. We have never encountered two managers who were so rude. But once we got past this we enjoyed the stay in Pinehurst. Roads are paved and wide enough to get our 45 foot motorhome in and out very easily. Parking in a back in site when a pull through was available was annoying but not enough of an irritant for us not to stay. The price was good for what we got in return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is in a very nice area and golf, shopping, dining are close by. There is great potential here but current staff doesn't look upon guests as anything but an inconvenience. If you can get past that you will be comfortable. Security is questionable with some of the monthly rentals at the back of the park. Restrooms are clean but very out of date. Would stay here again because of the location. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites are extremely narrow. Camp ground hosts are down right hostile. $5.00 per person charge if someone should want to come and visit you - why is beyond me because there really isn't any "amenities" to speak of, especially not in the fall. Stayed because we couldn't get a place nearer Chapel Hill because of football game weekend. Would like to stay again and play golf, but not sure because of the hosts and their inflexibility and apparent inability to match size of RVs with available sites - especially when a lot of more suitable sites sat empty the whole weekend. Also was informed that pull throughs are for 2 nights only so they sat empty! We camped here in a Motorhome.
We entered the campground heading north on 15/501 and found the entrance to be poorly marked. There is a small blue sign with a picture of a camper right at the street you turn onto. This sign does not mention the campground name and there are no other signs to warn you that you are approaching Campground Road. We had to make a quick stop to avoid missing the turn. Friends of ours came from the opposite direction and said it wasn't marked anymore clearly. We were able to get side by side sites which we requested. They were fairly level with full hookup. We had plenty of room between our sites, but other sites looked like they were really close together. TV reception is not too good in the area and it is not satellite friendly with all the trees. The interior roads were in decent condition, but I didn't like the speedbumps at the entrance to the campground. Being that we stayed here in January, we were not able to take advantage of the swimming pool but they do have a nice lake to do some fishing. They have a basketball net and playground area for kids. And there is a covered shelter for camping groups. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We made reservations here on the recommendation of a nearby RV dealer, where we were having some work done. When I made the reservation, I specifically asked for a pull thru site and was assured that one was available. When we checked in, the camp host was not very friendly and asked if we really needed a pull thru site. Her husband reluctantly escorted us to a pull thru site. I pulled onto the site and found that it was filled with so many trees that it was impossible to get our awning out. This was important because it was the very purpose of our staying at this campground. We had to replace the awning on our new travel trailer twice, due to a factory defect. The dealer which was over 100 miles from our home, had just installed the second replacement awning and we wanted to try it out before we left the area. We went back to the camp host, who had already seen our predicament, and before we reached their door, the husband yelled out that he wasn't moving us to another site. I explained the whole situation to her, however she very nastily replied that we couldn't move, without giving any explanation. We were only staying one night and there were many pull thru sites available. Since it was getting to be late that evening, I'm sure that these sites were not already reserved. The campground wasn't even half full. So after discussing it with my wife, we decided not to stay. I started trying to maneuver my way out of the site between the tight squeeze of all the trees, while my wife walked back to the camp host to get our money back since we were not going to stay. The camp host was very verbally abusive to my wife and would only refund half of the cash we paid for the one night stay. She literally threw the money at my wife and went inside and slammed her door. I can't really give a better evaluation of the park, since we didn't get to see much of it. However I wouldn't try to stay here again unless I knew for sure they had a different camp host. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice park with lots of sites under large pine trees. Roads are blacktop with some speed humps and long wide turns. Most sites are some gravel and need more. No duct, very low noise from Hwy. 15/501. Nice place to spend some time. Pinehurst and Aberdeen are very nice places to visit. Sat. TV may be hard to work on some sites due to trees. Office is a motorhome at front of park. Bathrooms and showers were spotless. Sites were close to level. Playground equiment for the kids. Rates were on passport. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Only stayed one night here, they were doing much construction so things were rather askew. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent park, with friendly managers. Restrooms were spotless. Nice sites in trees with some picnic tables at sites. Some BBQs. Excellent location for golfers. Approaching at night is difficult because of little light on the street. Quiet and peaceful. We'll stay again. Also Passport America. We camped here in a camper.
