We stayed at this campground for 3 months as there was no other alternative. They priced gouged in every way...$525 monthly for a space, $20 per car if more than one, and $200 deposit which was NOT returned in a timely fashion. They were NEVER on site should a problem arise. The internet worked less than 50% of the time and NEVER on weekends when they were unavailable to reset it. Both the women's and the men's showers and bathrooms had a significant amount of mold and were never cleaned during our 3-month stay, and finally, there is only 1 washer/dryer for 15 RV spots and about 20 motel rooms. Between the price gouging and the lack of clean facilities and promised amenities, I would NEVER EVER stay at this facility again! I may sound like an unhappy customer, which I am, but everything above it factual. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I tried to stay here for two nights, and was told that they only rent by the week. Another couple tried to stay for the summer, and was told they couldn't for some unclear reason. I suspect the owners are renting to oil workers, and are thus no longer interested in transients, at least for now. We camped here in a Motorhome.
WOW! These are the best RV park managers we have met in years of travel. The park is small and friendly. The restrooms and showers and grounds are CLEAN! We have traveled around the US and this is one of the best places we have ever found. First of all, The owners really care about their tenants. They were so accommodating when we pulled in. They showed us around the park, and showed us the laundry and shower/bathroom areas. All are immaculate! They treat their guests wonderful. The entire place is clean and well kept. I haven't seen the motel rooms, but have heard they are clean and immaculate. When I entered the park, the owner was there to greet us. We checked in and the check in area is similar to a 5 star motel. There is a great gift shop with hand made gifts as well as other gifts.. I just can't say enough good things about this place. No matter how I travel to this area again - RV or driving I will definitely try to get a place here in the RV park or the motel. The RV park is small and has 14 spots. I highly recommend this place. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I use this site regulary and because no one had entered a review since 2007, we thought maybe it was not in business. But luckly we noticed it as we drove by and it looked neat and clean, so after checking the others in the area, we came back to this and so glad we did. We are in a 23ft b-van so the size was perfect for us. Big motorhomes better check first. It is a small older park behind a motel. The restrooms and laundry were old, but exceptionally clean. The owners were two of the best, partial reason for giving it such a good rating. Owners made a special point of thanking us for choosing their park before we left this morning. Never have had that before or at least this couple made you feel like they meant it, not just a standard thank you. Would stay here again and recommend it to smaller vehicles like ours. We camped here in a Motorhome.
$12.00 is the winter rate--power and cable TV included. Hotel rooms continue to be reasonable priced and clean. Owners are very friendly. I'll stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park owners were very helpful. When we couldn't find the park (because I didn't think to ask for specific directions), we called for help. They drove out to try to find us and direct us in! The sites are very small, but the park location is very close to town (and the highway). The best part is the nearby restaurant which the owners recommended: Homesteader's Restaurant, We camped here in a Motorhome.
Hi, I think the nightly rate is higher in summer time. When I visited it was winter so the charge was a very reasonable $12.00. Owner is friendly and helpful. Motel Rooms are clean too and $46.00 per night (tax included) Rooms are non smoking only. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Basic site charge per night was $28, but they add $3 per child per night, so we paid $34 nightly rate. Office worker was friendly and helpful. Games in gameroom were out of order. Playground was in a nice shady area and had numerous pieces of equipment. We had a nice site, although I noticed some sites looked a bit close together, which I would not have liked to be located in. Biggest complaint is the location - right next to a busy, 4-lane divided highway - loud traffic zooming by day and night. Also had nearby train noise several times a day, but not as annoying as the traffic noise. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Right off US-2 and US-52, easy off/easy on. Traffic noise. Lots of trees. Couldn't get our satellite. Called ahead of time to check on check-in time and was told 2PM. Got there about 2:15, no one at the office. Had to call office number on the cell to find out what site they reserved for us. Thought it was quite amusing that the campground only had 2-3 rv's in camp yet we couldn't get in until 2PM (that's the time the lady shows up). Not very impressed with this campground. She has to come and unlock the 50amps for the big rigs so we had to wait for her to arrive at the campsite. She arrived about 15-20 minutes after we arrived. We only use KOA's as a last resort. Won't be coming to this one again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
In mid August 2011 we went to Minot to assist my aunt, whose house was flooded along with 3100 others. We called the Fairgrounds to see if space was available. Yes, we could have spot for $30 a night or $600 a month. No water or sewer, electric only. Asked about $15 rate last year only to be told it was $20 last year. Upon arrival in Minot we drove by Fairgrounds to see 20 of 200 spots being used. Keep in mind that 3100 homes were flooded and residents were parked in school parking lots for 2 month running generators. We will never stay at the Fairgrounds while they ignore their own citizens. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a multi-purpose facility and info does not lend well to the rating system. There are multiple power locations around the park, however, the number of 50-amp is very limited. They have just opened a very large RV park on the grounds but this is only open when they need added space for some special event. We were there on 2 weekends and they had stock car racing and World of Outlaws. This will provide considerable noise sometimes past 11 PM depending on how many crashes they have. In addition the railroad tracks are right behind the park. If you arrive during the day you can get them to unlock the power box you will use. If possible do not park along the back fence, instead park near the Putt-putt area with grass. There are four 50-amp plugs there. The office is in a large, pink brick building at the back of the complex. Park where you see many cars ‘behind the building’. The office is at the top of the stairs. Friendly staff but they may not be able to answer many questions on parking locations as they primarily handle money. They will call someone to physically help you get parked. We would stay there again and even extended our stay this trip in spite of the noise issues. We just ran the A/C fans that blocked most of the noise other than the final races where they had as many as 24 cars on the track. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We attempted to stay here longer, but were told they were not allowing camping during July as they were getting ready for State Fair. Suggest you call first before stopping in: 701-838-1193. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed here a number of times. Register at the fair office, second floor. The sites are somewhat scattered but generally the extreme north side of the fairgrounds has the most hookups, but most are 20 and 30 amp. Water hydrants scattered around, as are sewer dumps. There are 50 amp available if you register during working hours of 9 to 5. They will happily direct you to 50 amp. Very friendly folks to register you at the fair office. Some train noise but not bad. We camped here in a Motorhome.
There are not many choices in this area. This RV park is more like a housing area for the locals. Loaded with RV's that are trying to be long-term housing. Sites are narrow and very soft. Was not worth the money at all. Could not wait to leave. Would NEVER return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Neat and clean. Some shade. Sites very close together. Laundry and everything new due to flood last year. Lots of permanent residents. Staff very nice - we had to stay extra days because of the wind and our dog getting sick and they were very helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Reservations definitely needed at this campground, regardless of when you are traveling. It's either the oil workers or special festivals. I managed to squeak in a one night reservation during a Scandinavian festival. Although I'm giving the park a 6, I want to give the staff a 10. I am currently traveling with an injury and I'm on crutches. When I made the reservation, I mentioned that I needed to do laundry and I had an injury. The staff managed to get me close to the laundry. I'm not saying my site was great, but I was close to the laundry. Although the sites are gravel on ground, my site was fairly level. Didn't need Lynx Blocks to hoist up a tire or two. The sites are "side by side" and once you get your slides out, you need only to open your window, knock on your neighbor's window and say, "Please pass the mustard." I'm not joking! As for the neighbor on the other side (in the next side by side over), well, there is "some" spacing, but not much. The laundry room was very clean and had modern high efficiency washers. Laundry was reasonable, $2.25 to wash, and 25 cents for 5 minutes to dry. Let's just say, $1.50 was enough to dry a load of clothing. Not cheap, but not outrageous. I got a decent Wi-Fi signal at my site. Wasn't blazingly fast, but worked enough for email. I got decent digital TV reception over the air via batwing with Wingman. Basically three network channels and a NOAA weather info channel specific to North Dakota. As for the network channels: I found if you put the antenna one way, you got CBS, NBC, and FOX. If you rotated the antenna 90 degrees, you got CBS, NBC, and ABC. Good reception with Verizon cell phone. I noticed some road noise, but it was tolerable. Price I paid reflects Good Sam discount and taxes. Decent place to stop over on your travels, if you can tolerate the "pass the mustard" situation. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has been redone after the flood. The roads and sites are gravel and in fairly good shape. The laundry is large and clean. There are large trees in the park center, but none where we were located. The park had lots of long term guests due to the oil workers. However, their sites were clean and there was no extra noise or problems. You will most likely need reservations as there are only a few sites for travelers; 3 or 4 is all I counted. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground and the city of Minot was devastated by a flood in 2011. The campground has reopened and has added sites. Power and water are good. It is all gravel and the new sites are close together. We would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for three days during the fair. Grounds are recovering nicely from the flood and they continue to work on the grounds. Had to follow up when booking as took a few calls to get through but is understandable considering the amount of work happening here. Tent sites are full sun, some shade and fully shaded. Have 8 tent sites available but can accommodate more in the overflow. Very clean bathroom, I realize they are redone since the flood. Coin operated showers, which keeps people from hogging the showers. showers operate up to 9 mins on $4. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Nice, Quiet Campground. Will stay again. Keep up the great work. We camped here in a Tent.
OK for a night or two, mostly long term oil workers staying here now. Fully recovered from floods. Sites are close together but will accommodate most any rig. Would stay again for a night. The store does not have any ice for sale. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Services were quite acceptable. Had occasional sewer smell that the owner addressed and seem to stay away. Gravel site was fairly level depending on where you parked. Good Wi-Fi and reasonable selection of air TV channels. Pull-through site was spacious. Enjoyed our one night stay but would stay longer. Long term sites were not an issue. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a hard CG to rate. They are still in recovery mode from last year's flooding. All buildings are new as are the site utilities. They have gravel roads and sites. The sites were we were are ALL gravel and very narrow. This row would not support slides and awnings on adjacent sites. For an overnight they are just fine, except the low spot between sites that's just gravel. Again, they are rebuilding, so grass or pads MAY be part of their plan. Wi-Fi was hit or miss as they get through growing pains with their new ISP. I didn't notice a pool, but did notice the large number of long term occupants. Some of the long term units are eye sores. Apparently many CGs in the area have the same volume of long term visitors supporting the oil wells. This could be a nice place and may be when they get finished. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice, spacious and level sites. Laundry room had new high-efficiency machines (although it cost $2.75 to wash each load). A lot of work is being done to even further upgrade this park. Will definitely stay here again on our return trip. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stopped here for an overnight stay on our trip to Glacier. It was apparent that they had been flooded by the nearby creak. The gravel roads were being rebuilt. No grass to be seen, all dirt, mud and dust. There was a large pile of rubble near the office, did not see anyone around. We made a u-turn and left. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Laundry needs updating. Located about 1 mile from train trestle, but could still hear the train. Too many trees to get satellite. Good for an overnight stop. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Lots of shade trees, some noise from the road and a railroad, but less than many other places. My site was level; the rest look pretty level. Very nice people at desk, new owners? Not sure. Wi-Fi is great if you're close to the office, but they are working on extending it to outer sites. Washers/dryers in process of being upgraded, but are out of commission now. I stayed here last year, and would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We enjoyed our shady electric-only site. It was reasonably priced and close to places we wanted to visit in Minot. The owner/managers were friendly. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a fairly nice park but needs a lot of work. Our site (#4) was adequate for our motorhome but was quite close to the neighbors on both sides. It did, however, have trees. The owners were very nice but do not seem to spend any time at all checking on the campground. There are some new big rig sites on one side of the campground and although they are long, and completely grassy, they have no shade and are also very close together. All in all, we probably would not stay here again, although N. Dakota does not offer a lot of choices. The Wi-Fi was sporadic, at best. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice campground with enormous potential. The new owners are working to improve the infrastructure, but some areas, such as the dirt roads that turn to ruts and mud when it rains, need immediate improvement. Pull through sites are long, but with side-by-side hookups you're touching awnings with your neighbor. The water pressure is also sporadic depending on the number of people in the park. On the plus side, the park has many large trees (no cable - we had to use a portable dish to find a hole), is fairly quiet, and is convenient to town. The free WiFi was very strong and the Verizon cell and AirCard service also worked well. The owners and staff are friendly and eager to please; we're confident they'll make the necessary improvements and will stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
DW and I enjoy staying there several time through out the summer as we live an hour away. Most of the sites are real good with some rather close too each other. Hosts are great and helpful. Water is less then desirable as it is hard well water. Stains the toilet bowl and water connection. Other than that, we highly recommend it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The campground was clean, well maintained, and quiet. Many of the sites are near the river. Our site was #9 which is a pull-through located on the end of a row with the woods next to us for privacy. The laundry room was clean with a couple of easy chairs and television with local channels to watch while waiting. There were ceiling fans and a stationery fan running inside the laundry room, too. We met the new owner of the campground. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park recently changed ownership. It is unclear how the new owners will manage the park. We were only able to get an electric only site, no water. Most sites are shaded. Nice playground area for the kids. To use Wi-Fi, one must be able to "see" the office. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed 1 night. The sites were easy access, and the campground and facilities were clean. We would certainly stay there again. Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Beautiful campground. Well maintained with pieces of old farm equipment scattered around for decoration. Like far too many CGs that say they have WIFI, & imply that it works everywhere, this one only works from sites near the office. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
There was WiFii, but the network settings were not right for my laptop, so it was not of any use. Other than most of the campsites being close, it was fine. I would stop again if passing through, but not to use it as a headquarters. There is a nice little walking path of 1/4 mile or more. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
WiFi is available near the office. Lots of lovely trees. It is located on the old highway so it is very quiet. There was a "for sale" sign. I sure hope it stays open as I would definitely stay there again. Staff friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground does not have WiFi. It is a well kept campground. The pull thru sites are wide and lovely. The only problem is the train. There is railway crossing very near the campground and the trains blow their horn several times when they cross. So, it is very hard to sleep here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a wooded park well off the highway with mainly pull-thru sites. We didn't find any problem with the water and the wireless internet is very good. The full service pull-thru sites are narrow, the elect & water back-in sites are better and not as heavily used. It is certainly the best in this area, the KOA is a very spartan spot right on the edge of the Interstate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is our second stay here. We had a shaded pull-through site and the Wi-Fi signal was good. No complaints, although we didn't use the water based on other comments here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We looked at all RV Park in Minot before looking here. Quietest of all, yes some train noise but not overwhelming. WiFi weak but there. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Limited satellite spaces, ask ahead if important. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Terrible water! Smelly and extremely unpleasant. We also experienced the most unfriendly park management anywhere we visited in the west. Give this one a miss! We camped here in a Motorhome.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Pull through site was comfy; campground was well maintained; with a beautiful wooded area and pond to walk around. The trains were constantly present, but hardly an inconvenience due to the pleasant surroundings and friendly staff. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Poor water pressure and terrible water. Do not use to drink. Do not fill your tank. Lots of trees so not much chance to use satellite dish. Much train noise but that goes for all of Minot. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very pretty and not bad for a couple of days. Had to switch sites because they gave me an awning to awning site. I hate that. I can not figure out why they do a layout like that except it may be cheaper to install the utilities. They only had a two washer/dryer setup, so we had to go to town to do the laundry. Extra $ for the modem. Very very nice city park in downtown Minot that is a great day trip. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This hostess was so helpful to us. We stayed here a week, then extended for another two weeks while my husband recovered from falling off a ladder. She kindly prorated the monthly rate for us. There are lots of area workers staying here, and the grounds aren't maintained as well as they should be. But it's conveniently located near shopping, restaurants and the doctors' offices. Highway noise wasn't a problem because we were far enough away from it. We occasionally heard cars racing at the fairgrounds on weekends. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Lots of "resident" RV's, but they do have some sites reserved for overnighters. The place seems OK for a quick stop in transit. Had a good satellite shot. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a great spot to stop over for a night or two but would not recommend it for a destination campground. Easy access from US 52, and sites were level. Camp host was helpful. Basically a big gravel lot with hook-ups. We did not use the WiFi but were told that it was available and free. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good wi-fi, fairly level sites. If the park is full, there is not to much room between sites. Long enough sites for almost any rig and fairly quiet at night. We would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a plain & simple campground tucked to the eastern side of Svenson/Swensons RV on the east side of Minot. No fancy landscaping, but there are grass strips by each huge pull-through site. The manager was friendly and efficient! Getting in was a bit confusing - turn north off Hwy 2 at 20th (which isn't all that well marked, but the Swanson signs and inventory are visible) - you have to drive into the RV Sales area, past the repair bays and follow the (little) signs to the RV Park sign-in area. The price was right, there are no large trees to block our satellites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great WiFi. Large pull through sites with all the hookups. Right next to Svenson's RV Sales. Not a pretty campground, but convenient to Minot. Amazingly quiet as it is near highway 2 and a train track.. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
