I camped here for the convenience of renting a car & using this as my hub, and for that I'm grateful for this park. I enjoyed their laundry facility and the very friendly & helpful staff. Praises to all that! I had several restless nights due to the noises from such closeness of the sites, and the kids were very active on the street in front of me and all over the park as I came & went. If I did this park again, I'd do it when the families were back in school. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed at this campground several times. It is clean and family friendly with many activities for children, including swimming. The park is treed with a small brook running through it's center; yet located in the town of Antigonish. Shopping is within easy walking distance. Longer stays are located on the west side of the brook where sites are larger. We highly recommend this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Whiddens is a fine campground with much to offer different types of campers. Some sites are back to back but many are not. The spacing is actually quite good for a campground in a downtown area. The park is very well maintained and attractive with lots of trees and a comfortable feeling.. Some of the sites on the river without hookups could be really nice. We were there on a fringe time of year so it was difficult to know what it is like when filled up but we would return here even if crowded. Excellent wifi and a really clean washer/dryer room. Great location for many things to do and also a Sobeys and WalMart nearby. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We arrived about 7 PM, few sites to choose from. The 3 way sites available were very short, even for our 25' motorhome. We chose a 2 way site, no cable TV at the 2 way sites. All sites were $42.00 per night (2 way sites included one free use of dump station). Site was not level. Bathrooms were modern, had lots of hot water, were clean with pay showers. Did not have any problem with Wi-Fi. Compared to what we had been paying on our trip, seemed a little pricey for amenities. It is definitely close to downtown. Not sure I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Although in a downtown location, the campground was convenient both to local grocery and other stores as well as for leaving our rig while we took a multi-day trip to Cape Breton Island (saving hours of driving). Owner was friendly and laid back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were parked up on the hill on a level and clean site. This park advertises free Wi-Fi and the signal was very, very poor. Even at the office. We could not get any Wi-Fi reception. The management was very nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very convenient campground right in the downtown area of Antigonish. We were here for the Highland dance competition as part of the Highland games. The pool was very clean and a nice size. We paid 1/2 a day's rate to allow for a late checkout as the girls were dancing until after lunch time. It allowed us to swim some more in the pool and stay for supper before heading home. We will stay again and have already booked for July 2010. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Stayed here for a week. The campground is nice but after asking specifically about Wi-Fi was told that it reached to all sites. It doesn't...Also need to add a gravel driveway to the sites along the fence so you don't have to walk through mud. Cable kind of worked but not many channels. Liked being in town and the campground was very quiet in the evenings. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A small gem of a CG in the middle of the City. Immaculate grounds and lots of neat features to keep smaller campers busy. Nice metal contraptions for fire places. Quiet and peaceful. We'll be back to this one anytime we are in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A convenient downtown location in Antigonish. You can walk to most services so it could be a good place to alight without unhooking. We requested a pull-through site which we got but still had to un-hook to avoid hanging out into the driveway. If your towing and want a true pull-through be very specific with them on this. There's lots of seasonals and lots of rental park models but the venue is clean, well kept and has good security. We chose Antigonish frankly because the Pictou reviews were bad both on rvparkreviews and from Canadians we had talked to enroute. Antigonish is about an hour drive to the PEI ferry so you have to get up early to catch the 9:30 - say leave at 7:00. The ferry runs frequently, however, so if you miss one the next is less that 1:30 later. Going to PEI the ferry is free and you can't reserve but it was no problem for an RV. We would use this campground again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
