This place was very crowded for winter camping. We are glad we showed up in time to get one of the last 2 electric sites to help run the heater. There are very friendly folks in this campground. It is rustic with decent spacing between sites and lots to see in the area. I'd like to spend more time there. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This has to be the best that Oklahoma has to offer and I found it to be much better then campgrounds in Arkansas, South Carolina and any state parks in New Mexico. The wildlife is unbelievable. It is the only place I have ever been where I could see buffalo, rabbits, squirrels and a hawk all at the same time from camp while sitting in a lawn chair. I have camped here many times with no real issues. If you want to have a party with your friends, sit around and drink with loud music, then do not come here. Alcohol is prohibited and you will be fined. We camped here in a Tent.

This is one of our favorite camping places, there is no water hookups but there is plenty of places where you can fill up at. The buffalo and longhorn wander freely. There is plenty of hiking and they have a state of the art interpretive center where you can learn all about the buffalo and history of the Wichita Mountains. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
