Nice location close to ocean, great staff but dusty roads, dead grass, some sites not level. It is not a RV Resort type of park. We camped with a Good Sam group and had the use of a great club house. I know it is a coastal park but I live on the Oregon coast and it is overpriced. If they would pave the roads and water the grass, I would rate it a lot higher. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for a couple days and really enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly, restrooms and showers were clean and it was family friendly. Laundry was decently priced ($3.00 a load), but the park overall was a little too pricey for us. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Website was misleading. The area outside the campground was industrial and not too nice. The Wi-Fi was not easy to access. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. The staff was nice and held a potluck for all the campers. The walk to the beach was not too far but this area was VERY windy. Would not stay here again, saw many other campgrounds in the area that looked much nicer (especially for the price). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
First I am glad the previous poster got his slide fixed by a workamper but he said NOTHING about the park and gave it a rating of 10. People this park is a 3 at best. Scroll down to Turtle Rock Resort at the bottom of this page. They got bad reviews and changed the name on this site to start over hoping for better reviews. Lets see. Holes in streets all throughout the park, Wi-Fi works only in half the park, cable stations (only 9 ) are of such poor quality you might as well not even bother to hook it up. ON second thought my rating of a 3 is actually to high. Do not waste your money at this place. And PLEASE DO NOT GO BY THE WEBSITE PICTURES. YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU DO. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed one night at Turtle Rock and really enjoyed it. Our site was on the "bay" and because it was off-season we got a great rate. The managers are very friendly and super helpful. The showers are huge (two spigots in each) and very clean. We're very thankful that the handyman at the park had a good knowledge of RVs as our front slide failed to work when we got ready to leave in the morning. Our manuals said little to nothing about how to retract it and the dealer and manufacturer's help line were even less helpful. The handyman figured it out and in about an hour or so we were on the road. THANKS to all. We will certainly stay at Turtle Rock again as we travel up the Oregon Coast. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was our second visit. Nice large park. Our hook ups were in odd placement & spread out this time. Near ocean & small bay. The cottages are very nice. Plenty of friendly & helpful camp hosts. We would return to Turtle Rock, again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Lots to do around the area (Jet Boat Ride, other beaches). Had a good time relaxing. Park was clean and staff was always nice and helpful. Wi-Fi worked great all the time. Would come back again. Got a little windy in the early evening. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Gravel roads and sites with Easy access, big rig friendly, great rec room friendly and helpful staff. Easy access to beach. I would come again. Also they have cottages for rent. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is dirty and dusty and cramped. The sites given for a Class A are postage stamp sized, without enough room for slides. The worst part, which has not been mentioned is the very narrow, winding road you must take to get here. My right tires were on the edge of the pavement most of the time. Plus the road had large depressions in the middle, with gravel fill and steel plates in places. I don't get scared with many roads, but this drive was terrifying. I would never stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We spent three days there it was a blast. We where in site #4 river front it was great. Great views of the river and the mountains. Site was a little narrow, but the wild black berry's and the otters in the river made you forget. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a gem of a place, right on the Rogue River. If you visit is planned, be sure to ask for a river front site. It's a small park, with only 6 river sites, so book ahead. The folks who run it are very friendly. They encourage even the short term visitors to attend cocktail hour on the patio, where we found the regulars and seasonals to be very friendly. Laundry facilities were good. Shower water pressure was a little troublesome. I think the washing machines affected the pressure, hence you could be chilled or broiled without notice! Over all, we would recommend this park. It certainly was the best of the three on this shore. We camped here in a Motorhome.
First of all the advertising is misleading. Yes it is right on the river, but only 6 sites are, since only motor homes or trucks with camper shells can make the sharp turn. The owner greets you and guides you into your space. Since you are on a much higher elevation than the river ( river has flooded this area several times through the years shown on a pole by the office) many can not see the river from their sites. Several of the sites up close to the river are prefabricated trailers for rent. The roads are gravel and dirt, even though their ad says they are paved and gravel (possibly the one row for the moto rhomes by the river could be). When people drive in they kick up dust from the huge chunks of gravel and dirt. The sites are on fairly level grass with a picnic table, no patio that was advertised. The park Wi-Fi never showed up on the list of possible connections, so I used the connection from the resort next door that was unsecure. Even then it was weak at times and would disconnect. The jet boats can stop at the dock to pick you up, but if you do you will lose about 5 miles of the ride and get no photo taken of you from the jet boat company. They take the picture from the highway bridge in town. The jet boats also leave from town. This park (not a resort with dirt roads) is about 15 minutes from the town of Gold Beach. So if you need restaurants, fuel or groceries (the prices are very high at the park) keep this in mind. We will never stay here again, so far, so dusty and you have to walk to the edge of the park to see the view. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here 4 nights. We went on Jerry's Rogue River rafting trip and we caught the boat right next to the park, which was nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a small park and the 7 mile drive off of 101 is a little narrow but manageable. We had some trouble with the internet but all in all it was a clean park and we would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were on a 36 day trip and stayed in quite a few campgrounds along the way. Four Seasons was (and is) our favorite. The owner and employees couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. The campground is clean and well kept at all times. We had a riverside site and had an enjoyable time watching the river otters play every morning. Also enjoyed watching the beautiful jet boats running the rapids. Although we didn't take a boat ride this time, we could have as the boat stops at the CG dock on it's way by. We intend to return and stay much longer the next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Located adjacent to the rogue river where the jet boats can dock to take you aboard. Facility is clean with a pleasant and helpful staff. Restroom are clean. Nice dock for fishing. Protected from the winds on the coast. Well stocked store for incidentals. No pull-thrus but the staff assists you in parking adjacent to the pads for your chairs and picnic table. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a park next to the Rogue River. If you enjoy fishing this is the place to be. Very quiet at night, and friendly owners. It is 6 miles from Hwy 101 but compared to the parks along 101 it is a much better choice as I have stayed at the other parks. You can catch the jet boat rides from here. You can walk to Tu Tu Tun Lodge next door and have a 5 course meal (call ahead) as this is a 5 star resort. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice, family owned and it shows. Great views of the Rogue River. Has Wi-Fi and Cable TV. Have camped here before and will again: great price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
What a great RV park if you want a rive setting. We sat right on the Rogue and walked to the fishing docks in a minute. The staff was very helpful, even when we checked in at 10 PM. The location is a bit off the beaten path and it took a while to get to the park, but it was worth it. The restrooms/showers were clean and plenty of hot water. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The strong points are: a stunning location on north bank Rogue River complete with working pier and boat launch; sweetheart manager who not only enjoys helping, she's good at it. Weak points are: the awkwardly steep entry from very narrow north bank river road inland from 101. Drive the center line; take it slow. Rates are too high for off season as the river is too low for the jet boats/fishing. The park has a claustrophobic feeling. It just looks and feels tired, however everything (50 amps, water, sewer) works. There is a clear view of southern sky for satellite TV and cell phone/air-card reception. Due to the driving hassle to get into this park, it's not a great overnighter location. Plan to stay a while: unwind and relax. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly staff, and 'ok' campground. We stayed here to take the jet boat ride the next morning as it boarded at the dock right next door. The laundry room was clean and convenient, open pretty much all the time. We would stay here again if wanting to take the jet boat, but not much else to do here for more than one night. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The road in is difficult, as is their driveway. Very nice staff. The river location is wonderful. Things are worn but clean. We stayed three nights and would stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Beautiful park, especially if you reserve sites 1-6 which are riverfront on the Rogue River. Friendly family-run park. The office will make reservations for the jet boat trips out of Gold Beach, and they will pick you up at the dock. Older restrooms, but well kept. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We really enjoyed our stay in this RV Park on the Rogue River. It was quiet, very well maintained, and the staff was great! They hosted a wonderful 4th of July BBQ/Potluck and it was a lot of fun. We stayed 12 days and will go back again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great for people interested in fishing. Facilities just okay. Riverfront sites lovely. Interior sites are not as cramped as previous reviewer implies. They are actually quite spacious. Not much to do if you don't fish, though. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The hosts/managers were wonderful. Personally escorted to our site and even the campground pooch was there to greet us. We found the fellow campers here to be very friendly and helpful. Would return again. The river view was spectacular, especially when the moon was on the river. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very quiet park with wonderful hosts. We were personally escorted to our site which was helpful. The river view site we had was beautiful, especially at night with the moon on the water. Easy access to river for fish, swimmming, etc. Power boat tours of river right next door. Nice campers. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Yes, this is an older park and yes the spaces are just average. Wow, what a nice view if you get one of the river front sites. That was our highlight for this trip. We will be back! If, you want to get cleaned up and spend some money, one of the best restaurants in the country is in the lodge next door. The staff was excellent! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Don't be fooled by the beautiful picture on this park's website. Talk about deceptive. The picture was cropped and staged with nice rigs. There are only a few sites that are waterfront and in person, those few sites are not that nice. The rest of the sites are tightly packed in a gravel parking lot. Lots of "residents" with beater rigs. It's an old park! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were met as soon as we arrived (even before we got out of our motorhome) by the host. They asked if we were the people that were supposed to be coming late (we were). We were pulling a boat, and were told that if we needed, they would launch our boat for us. We gladly accepted their most gracious offer. The Boat ramp was too small for our boat so they took it and me up the river about five miles and launched it for me. When I offered him $20.00 for his trouble, he didn't want to take it but I insisisted. We were then personaly guided into our spot by the owner. When we were ready to leave the owner came down and guided us out. I will stay here again without question. The weather was bad when we were here and the site was pretty soggy but the friendly and helpful owners made up for it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Small Campground and spaces are close. Located on Rogue River and we have been Full-timing for two years, this is the only campground where when we left the Manager came out to be sure our stay was OK. VERY Nice neighbors, some of which had been staying there for 17 years. They all made us feel at home. You could not ask for a better place to stay as far as how we were treated. Truly a 4 star place to
stay. We camped here in a camper.
Our price was based on the Passport America rates. Lovely small campground just 20 spots. Friendly owner, very clean grounds, clean and spacious bathrooms and smack bar. In the center of town and just an easy 10 min. stroll to the lovely beach, 3 min. to a 24 hour supermarket and various restaurants, but away from the traffic, so no noise. Our site was level, with good water pressure, Wi-Fi and cable TV. If we ever pass through Gold Beach again, this will definitely be our first choice of Campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a small RV Park right in the middle of town-really within walking distance to almost everything. The smallness of the park is offset by its location. The owner is resident in the park and works very hard on the upkeep. The grass pads and associated vegetation are well cared for. His attention to detail is very evident in the cleanliness and neatness of the whole park. He was very responsive to any of our questions or concerns. One very strong plus to the park has to do with the movable potted plants/scrubs. In some parks, the edge of each space is marked with live trees, usually very large and of course unmovable. With the use of the potted plants, the spaces are widened for backing into position or leaving the site. When parked in the site the pots are moved back into position. The narrow spaces do eliminate the use of the awnings. Be prepared to park your vehicle next to and very close to your rig as the space between your rig and the slide outs on your neighbor may be tight. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Woodall's says this park has a rec room with coin games and WiFi at the sites. There is NO rec room with coin games and the WiFi was so spotty and poor we couldn't keep a signal for longer than a minute, and that was one row from the building. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We only stayed here one night, Should have booked another night but we already had reservation for the next day at another RV park. The staff was very friendly at check in, The park was very clean and well groomed. The restaurant and pub is closed on Sundays and Mondays and we were here on a Sunday so we weren't able to eat at the restaurant. We did walk around the park to check it out, The little pond was really nice, They even have free fire wood available, Although you are only limited to three logs per night. The other campers were also very nice and friendly. The only reason I'm not rating this park a 10 is because we didn't use the restrooms or showers so I don't know there condition, But as clean as the park was I'm sure the restrooms and showers were just as clean. We did purchase some German sausage from the little store before it closed that evening. I will differently camp here again when in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very few sites have ocean views. It is 8-9 miles north of Gold Beach and nearest supermarkets. Yes, there is a stocked trout pond, but it costs $15 to fish for an hour or for the first fish; additional fish are $10 each. We stayed in early June, and the restaurant was closed, but Friday evening, somebody from the park came by and asked us if we wanted to eat in the restaurant that evening. Sites are very level and have average privacy. Flowers are beautiful throughout the park. Laundry is too small for a park this size. Beach is 6-7 minutes away through a trail that crosses Hwy 101. Wi-Fi was okay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Older park. It was quiet, but power was low and tripped my surge protector twice. I could see the Wi-Fi antenna yet its signal was so weak I could not use it. No 50 amp service and shared power pedestal. Very nice owners, but still it is an older park that needs some upgrading. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park attendant was friendly on check-in. We had a ocean view site (peek-a-boo type) that was nice. The WiFi was good with some problems at times connecting to the internet.(ISP issues not the rv park) Interesting restaurant with good hearty German food. Home grown entertainment was enjoyable. The Black Forest ham, liverwurst, knackwurst sausages and draft German beer were great. This is a family rv park that caters to the older crowd so is quiet and peaceful. The ocean beach is just a short walk away and is absolutely fabulous. There is a small laundry facility (two washers) that could get very busy as it would appear that people stay more than a couple of days here. The sites are level with some sites having a paved picnic area. Picnic tables are at each site. Cable is supplied which is not bad with just a few channels not perfect. We had a good time here and would stop again when in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very family friendly park that provides beautiful scenery and wildlife. The night time meal was well prepared and the show was very entertaining. The only reason we did not give this a ten was that the laundry room only has two washing machines. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We chose a tent site here which was very nice, on the pond, nice grass, water, trees, very quiet, and picnic table. Lady in office was rude, store was almost non existent, restaurant was closed, and the bathrooms, showers were very far away. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Pretty CG, but the WiFi doesn't work and the meal in their restaurant was a disappointment. Some of the roads and turns were a bit tight for a big rig. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great place to visit the local attractions from. The owners have there own deli and put on an authentic German family style dinner every night during the season, including entertainment. The campground is well cared for, and we will make it our Southern Oregon base again in the future. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Perhaps the most relaxed place we've stayed to date. Huge variety of sites, from secluded and shady to open-to-the-sky for our internet satellite dish. All are pleasant. Owners run a great little restaurant on site and make the best Black Forest ham I've ever tasted! (Great sausages, too) We filled our freezer before we left. Concrete was plenty long for our 34' motorhome. Site was almost perfectly level, anyway. Owners corrected any minor problems immediately. If you require everything to be paved and regulated by a long rules list a la "resort," this place may not be for you, but if you want all the necessities and many extras in a relaxed, friendly environment, it really doesn't get much better than Honeybear. For example, all the dogs that needed to be leashed were (including ours, who doesn't have enough sense to stay in our site unless she's leashed), but the few who knew how to stay by their owners' sides could wander around their sites with their people unmolested. That's a dog- and people-friendly place! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Just a great little place. Owner/manager is German. They put on a nightly dinner-show which is both entertaining and economical. The Owner is the MC, singer and quite a performer. There are lots of shaded RV spots and the park atmosphere is very country with deer and turkey about in the morning. We will definitely go back. Negatives... Owner had a shortage of employees that knew how to place RVs and he was unfamiliar with how some RVs cannot back up or make short U turns. Also Concrete pads were terribly short and could not accommodate our 31 one footer; that caused some leveling problems. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Fun park off of Highway 101 near Gold Beach, Oregon. The owners are very nice, and care about what they do. The German atmosphere, complete with dinners and polka, are fun, and would be especially appreciated by the 'Golden Age' crowd. Sites are large with cement pads, grass, shade. Bathrooms, laundry and showers are clean and well maintained. Playground needs an upgrade, and grassy areas need some TLC. Overall, though, a very nice park. Would stay again, and recommend to fellow travelers. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We have visited Honey Bear Campground several times and will visit again. While not directly on the beach, this facility offers a unique camping experience. Elk and wild turkey can be observed in the meadow during times of the day. We have also enjoyed the restaurant which serves steak dinners some nights and German fare on other evenings. The owner provides live music and entertainment and even a deli so that you can take some of the excellent food with you when you leave. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a fun place to stay. Not too far from the ocean. The highlight of our trip was the German Dinner in the restaurant. I think it was about $7 and was delicious and the entertainment after was downright fun. Fun music and some bad jokes and a few good ones. It's not too far from Gold Beach and The Rogue River area We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Mostly a fishing camp for regulars. Only three sites for travelers. Not friendly. Sites too narrow; with our slides out there is not enough room for even a lawn chair. Trees need to be trimmed. Will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Beautifully landscaped with trees, flowers, and manicured grass! Sites were blacktop and level. Park is shady, quiet, and on a creek. They have a large rec room with pool, ping pong, and a cafe on site for breakfast and lunch. Karen, owner, is very nice. Our only down side was the bathrooms looked old and dark, thus appearing unclean. A good nights' sleep. Will return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
If we weren't expecting mail we would have left right away. very crowded, can't park vehicle at site we weren't informed of that when we made reservations. small sites, weeds, little gravel, windy, site we had was very dark. we won't return or recommend this to anyone. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park would be a 8 if you visit off season. We stayed from late June to mid Aug. and found it very crowded. We were offered a very small space that was all gravel with weeds. There are some really nice sites here but most are small and graveled. You have to disconnect at all most all sites. We had electic go out several times too. Real nice staff and grounds. Gold Beach is a nice town that treats visitors well. We will return to this area again but not to this campground as every one we talked to was frustrated do to the fact it was to crowded. (it looked like a rv and truck sales lot) We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has to be one of the cleanest, well maintained parks we have stayed at. Not a
"10" since there are no paved sites, but sites were grass with nice patio areas at each. Staff was excellent and even let us pick out own site. Rest Rooms were clean and well maintained. A nice resturant is onsite and well as a well stocked store. The jet boat trip up the Rouge River was awesome. If you go to Gold Beach, don't miss it! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice clean shaded grassy RV park just across from the Rogue River. Manager let us pick our own site upon arrival. Well kept and maintained. Stayed during late June on vacation and we had a wonderful stay. We camped here in a camper.
We stayed three days in the RV Park for a family birthday bash. There were family members from all over that stayed in the beach house, lodge, cabins and RV Park. This is a great venue that has accommodations to suit everyone and every budget. With every contact, the staff was the most friendly I have ever encountered. The RV Park, unfortunately, has not been maintained. They have let all the grassy areas between the sites die and that makes it look awful. I could see sprinklers, but obviously they don't use them. The fact that you make reservations months in advance does not mean you will get a good site as they let drive-ins take any spot they want (good if you are a drive-in). When we arrived after having reservations for 2.5 months we had two spots to choose from and we could not fit into one of them. We ended up five inches from the restroom roof. The parking pad was asphalt but narrow in our back in site and it was a little difficult to get our 33' Class A in because of the narrow road and angle. They do have pull throughs in the middle but they are closer together. If you are lucky you can get a good site close to the faux lighthouse and beach trail. After you pick your spot you have to walk to the Gold Beach Inn to check-in and pay. Not that far and the grounds are pretty. The really GOOD part is that the beach trail is just yards away with miles of uncrowded ocean beach. You can walk to shops and restaurants. They have a couple hot tubs that we were told by family were nice, but we did not use them. Even with any negative things, this place has a great location (beach and in-town) and with the really friendly and accommodating staff it is a good place to stay while in Gold Beach. And if you go, don't forget to take your craft paint and brush to leave a family keepsake rock in their garden. I think some make theirs at home, then place them when they get there. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you'll see. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a fabulous park to stay at. It's right on the Oregon Coast, a quaint lighthouse on sight that 10 of us took table and chairs up in and played cards into the night. The managers recommended Spinners for dinner and we loved it. The bathrooms were decent, not new, but have no problem using them. Not like some parks. It was a perfect spot and would go again. The grass at each RV site wasn't green, but again we're right next to the beach so that didn't matter. Will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Another very nice park on the beautiful stretch of the southern Oregon coast. Very close to the ocean and the park is clean as always when we stay here. Nice staff in the office up front and very helpful. They recommended Spinners restaurant which was fabulous! You can walk to just about everything from here. Wi-Fi was great too. I disagree with the previous review saying the park has gone downhill. We have stayed here several times before and found it just as pleasant. I talked with the owner or manager and apparently they don't water grass because of the sky high water rates, as we have found with many other Oregon coast parks. The restrooms are not new, but are certainly very decent. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park has gone downhill from previous years. The new corporation has let the RV park go without any care. No green grass, the 50amp plug was covered with cobwebs and didn't appear usable, the "fast high speed Wi-Fi" was almost non working and the office called twice to have the server reset. I lost connection with the net so often I just stopped using it. The ladies restroom door wouldn't open and when someone came to fix the lock, they simply did something to keep the door from locking and it was open to the public after that. The restrooms are in need of some paint and remodeling. As an employee told me, the corporation instructed them to let the park go and do only the maintenance needed to keep it open. They are doing that very well. Because of the location to the beach and the ease of parking the trailer, I would return but for the nightly rate of $35.00, I get the feeling of being robbed. Lower the cost to $20 or so or spend some money to upgrade. There is no supervision or host at the park so anything goes and anyone can come in at any time. It is quiet after 10pm but usually the RVers are older and retired people or campers with experience and know the rules. If the corporation would spend some money and fix the restrooms, plant some grass and do a bit of upkeep, this would be a great park again, like it was several years ago. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
These are simple sites, but right on the ocean, at sea level, which is all that counts for us. Nice staff at the office in the nearby motel. There is good wifi. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We had a wonderful time at this campground. We were skeptical at first because the sites were so close together with very little shade, but the short walk over the dunes and to the ocean made up for it. It was quite windy while we were there, but we found a small alcove in the dunes and settled down for four days. The kids loved to play in the lighthouse that is on the site, and would go there before they ate breakfast. The sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep each night. The site we were in was paved and level. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean little RV park. No host and not too much to do. Need to go up to the street and over 2 motels to get registered. That was a pain, but they offer leveled concrete sights with grass pads and picnic table. No fire rings. Nice for quick overnight stop when passing through. Quaint little lighthouse to watch the sunset threw to get out of the cold. There is a well traveled trail to the beach. We would stay overnight again but not too thrilled with Gold Beach and would probably bypass to Bandon By the Sea next time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a quirky little park behind some motels. Nothing luxurious, just full hookups, easy access to the beach, and the sound of the waves. You choose your site at the park--- whatever is open--- and walk up the street to the motel to pay. No trees, so great for satellite. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is basically a simple parking lot by the beach. If it wasn't for the great location , it would barely get a 5 rating. There's a private path to the beach, a faux lighthouse for a view, and it's in town by stores and food. The bathroom and laundry were in an old concrete block building, and not cleaned that day. Couple of beat-up trailers seemed to be permanent. Check-in is down the street, they don't tell you the cable stations or if there's wifi or rules, anything. Then when you hook up, you discover the cable is worthless on half the stations. Strange little place but worth a stop if you want the beach on a nice day. You also get to pick your spot, then go register so the pull-thrus are up for grabs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We really enjoyed the location of this park. The park itself is small, and we had to put our 40' in a back-in spot. I had the back right up against some branches, and the front was sticking out in the road by a foot or so. But, since the park is so small there isn't a lot of traffic so I wasn't worried. Very close to the beach, nice little walking trail to get there. Cable TV did cut out on many channels. Bathrooms and laundry facility was somewhat clean. We stayed for 5 nights, and would go back for sure, although we also are interested in checking out other parks in Gold Beach. The town itself might just be my favorite vacation spot of all, small and quaint with numerous neat little shops, etc. As noted on other reviews, the first-come, first-served policy can leave you high and dry if you arrive later in the day. We arrived very late and considered ourselves lucky to get the last spot. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The only major complaints I have about this park is that you may start out having a wonderful view of the ocean, and then some big rig pulls in alongside you and your view is instantly gone! It's a shame that they couldn't have configured it for the view, but I'm sure they get more money out of it this way. The staff was "so so". We enjoyed the area of Gold Beach and walks on the beach from our rig and short drives to other areas along the coast. If you can get a site in the upper level, you might have a better chance at that lovely view. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Sites have concrete pads with pull thrus in the middle and back ins around the perimeter. Registration was at the Gold Beach Inn about 100 yards up the highway. Good WIFI signal, but Cable TV was poor on a lot of channels. There is a private trail to the beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A word of caution to 40' and larger rigs: We had reservations but actually chose not to stay. Their first-come, first-served policy is fair only if you have a smaller rig. Our 40' rig would not fit in all sites and we couldn't take a chance on not having a site available that would fit us. Their $20 cancellation policy is not fair if they can't guarantee a site to fit your rig. When I agreed to their policy on the phone, they did not tell me that my rig wouldn't fit in all of their sites. Therefore I was charged the $20 fee. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The ocean is just over the dunes. A lighthouse replica provides a great view of the coast and paths make it easy to reach the water. A grocery store can be reached by walking about a half mile. The sites are narrow but fairly level with grass between them. A few trees provide shade but on the coast, who needs it! We really enjoyed our stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground has been sold to new owners who are just letting the place go. Grass is dead and trash was overflowing in the dumpser. Many people who have stayed here year after year said that the owners can't sell it for 5 years so they are just letting it go and probably will build condo's. Its a shame since this campground is so close to the ocean. You drive in and pick your spot then walk a couple of blocks to the motel office to tell them what site your in. We were here 3 days and the only people we saw that looked like employees were teenagers racing around in a golf cart. With a little water and care this would be an outstanding campground since you can walk to the ocean and close to town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park was very nice, close to the ocean, A little crowded but friendly people. No problem parking our 33' class A and site was very nice with full hook ups. No extra charge for Grand daughter or pets. We will stay there again. Very Very clean RV Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice, well maintained park. The restrooms & showers were very clean. There is a short path out to the ocean. There were 5 deer that wandered into the park occasionally. This park is not big rig friendly. The streets and sites are paved. There are some larger pull thrus, but the staff seem to put smaller RVS & tows in them. They put larger RVS (including our 39' MH) in the smaller backins and you have to leave your tow vehicle in another parking area not far away. The smaller backin sites just barely accommodate a 40 footer with about a foot still out in the street. There were two 40 footers there while we were there. There is lots of grass, but you cannot park on it or even put a door mat on it. We enjoyed our stay and would probably stay there again even tho it is close quarters. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Located near the beach. Very nice park. Small spaces located behind a motel so it can be difficult to locate. I plan to go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

In town on the ocean, 9 pull-thru, four 50 amp, concrete pads, lawn, picnic tables, coin laundry, public phone, they have other phone service through GTE?(never used), cell phones also work there. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We've been going to Kimball Creek for years now and it just keeps getting better each and every year! The owner wrote a cookbook that I highly recommend you buy. They are available at the front counter and it is their family collection of recipes that are just great! The owners are highly involved in the operation of the park and it shows. Everything is clean and well cared for. Don't forget to leave with your share of salmon! The owner's son and grandson are both fishing guides and know the Rogue river like the back of their hands! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice park. It's 6 miles off the hiway, but a very small road. Hard drive for a big rig. Has nice big sites on the river. Big fire pit at each site. Very limited cell service, did have WiFi, but only at the office. Jet boat tours leaves right from the campground docks. Clean and quiet park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed here every year for 3 years. We do it mainly because we like the Jerry's Jet Boat 104 mile run and they will pick you up and let you off at the Kimball Creek dock. This year we had a river front view and it was very peaceful watching the Osprey come and go from their nest. There was a flood more than 10 years ago in the area and the waterfront bathrooms and reading room have that musty odor. There are some more permanent motor home sites but all the sites near the water are for travelers and I have never felt the permanent sites detracted from my experience. The rec room next to the office and store is where you have to go to get an internet connection which is a nice place to do work but they close that up around 9. I was assured I could get a connection anywhere around the building after that but it didn't work for me. The cable TV hookup is good. We had nice neighbors and the folks operating the campground are helpful and friendly. We will return. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
We stayed at this RV park for a week and loved the quiet and peaceful location. We had a riverfront site overlooking the Rogue River and saw hawks soaring and fish breaking the surface, watched the jet boats taking tourists up the river, and saw wild turkeys crossing the lawn. They had some kind of hydroplane boat race over the weekend that was very noisy and annoying, but the rest of the week was blissfully quiet! The people running the park are wonderful and very friendly. They have WIFI but it can be very sketchy like a lot of other parks we've been to. The road getting to the park is narrow and very windy, and you have to take this for 8 miles, but we have a 40 foot motorhome with a towed vehicle and we were fine as long as you take it nice and slow. They have a lending library in the rec room near the river, and a nice little gift shop in the office area. I would highly recommend the riverfront sites if you can get one when you reserve a site. They have a dock you can fish from. We will definitely be back, when in this area again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Location wise this campground has the potential to be wonderful, unfortunately it is rundown and in need of some TLC. We stayed here to ride the Jet Boats as they pick you up at the campgrounds dock, a nice feature. We stayed here about ten years ago and enjoyed the place. This return visit was a disappointment, junk cars and scrap laying about, weeds, and the site we had was at best poor. A power pole and tree to squeeze our awning between, unlevel, and another motorhome backed in to within six inches of us. A full time run down rig next to us with elec. cord hanging out the window across our site at five feet above the ground to hang yourself on. There was a nice site in the center of the campground that remained vacant under some trees with a fire ring and when we inquired about moving to it where told it was reserved for motorhomes only no trailers. Well the last day of our stay the spot had a fifth wheel and pickup camper in it! The area we where in was predominately full time trailers. The restroom for the ladies had only one shower that worked, the other drizzled out and had spider webs on the shower stall ceiling. We will not return here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We're fairly new to RVing, having owned a pop-up tent trailer for two years, and now an 18-foot Fleetwood Pioneer. We will always come back to this park for several reasons: It is clean and very well maintained. The views of the Rogue River are awesome, and you can fish off a dock in the park. The jet boats stop here on their way upriver and back to Gold Beach. There are deer grazing on the lawn - sometimes in the middle of the day - at the front of the park. People who stay here year-round are friendly as are members of the family who own the park. Each campsite has a fire ring, and there is plenty of room for different sized RVs. Most spaces also have trees. The Rogue flows gently through this area in the mid to late summer and the water is warm. We will continue returning to this park because of the environment, the people, the amenities, and the quiet. We are looking forward to returning in our new trailer. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
We camped here in December and almost had the entire campground to ourselves. The owner tells us things get hectic during Salmon runs late summer and early Fall. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Nice level site. No special amenities, but we loved being able to walk from the campground to the beach. Didn't use the restrooms, but looked at them and they appeared clean, although seemed a bit on the cool side. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed in a full hook-up with sewer in the space. The Pacific Ocean is about 100 yards to the west. The Rogue River is about 75 yards to the north. Lots of boats fishing for salmon and we saw 5 pulled into boats. There were about 50 people fishing for perch on the sand spit in the middle of the river. Beautiful weather with a light breeze. We'll be back as often as we can. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had stayed here before and wanted to try it in the summer and wouldn't you know it, but the weather changed and was worse than when we were here before. Still was a good time and we love the fact that both the river and the ocean are so close. The sites are gravel and the grass is dry, but the Wi-Fi was the best I saw on our whole 4 week trip. Will probably stay here again this winter when we come back thru. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park gets points from me for location: practically right on river and beach. Not much landscaping here and it is located adjacent to small airport with occasional take offs/landings overhead. Clean & tidy park. Gets 'very' windy at times. Fog horn running during our entire stay just added ambiance. Close to cafes, shops and town. Really enjoyed my stay here. One drawback was the many stickers my dogs got in their fur on walks - quite the hassle to remove. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good price but the best sites do not have power and sewer. This camp is nearly empty, so it's very quiet. Not fancy, with gravel and grass. It's close to beach with very nice staff. Do not use the clothes dryers. They get much too hot. Bathrooms are clean but old, not very attractive. We will definitely visit again. You might want to skip the Port Hole restaurant nearby. Food was okay but pricey. Fish tasted and looked exactly like the frozen fish from a chain market. Jumbo shrimp were very small. Had great staff though. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This basic campground is right on the ocean and we camped here during a huge storm. No amenities provided except location, location, location. Fairly close to downtown. Right on an inlet and the ocean itself. Everything is graveled and I doubt would get muddy. The manager is a crusty old fisherman -- worth the stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This CG is on the beachfront from Gold Beach right next to the small local airport. It is about a 100 yd walk to the river and the beach from here and about three blocks to food and the Rogue River mailboats and four to town... The sites are gravel and relatively level and it is aimed at the fisherpersons that come here. We enjoyed our stay and understand that it can be difficult to get reservations for the summer season. The management was EXTREMELY helpful with local info and even came over and helped us with the hook-up. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
More rustic, outdoorsy type campground. Very green and beautiful but everything in Oregon seems to be that way. Management friendly but you didn't see them much. Although I guess we didn't need to. Was not an upscale, fancy park but we will return because of its proximity to the ocean and to the Rogue River. This is what camping when we were young was all about. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very convenient and nice park. Staff very helpful. Sites are level and fairly big. Not many river view sites but others are OK. If can't get river site, ask for forest site for more space and privacy. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great setting! Our site backed to the river at the far end away from the 101, so freeway noise was not an issue. When outside by the RV, we could hear the surf pounding on the beach. Easy walk from the RV park to the beach. Don't know about the Wi-Fi, but our Sprint Mi-Fi card worked great here, as did our phones. In the morning, we could see deer on the other side of the river. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We enjoyed our one-night stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was close to the beach and the river was nice. The sites were long and easy to get into. Gold Beach was an interesting town. We enjoyed the book store and pet store. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
WOW where to begin. The interior roads have potholes everywhere. The free Wi-Fi is a joke. I found out from others that it only works (and poorly) in a few sites up front. 90% of the sites have no Wi-Fi. The manager told me it was my computer. Another guest said" Well mine does not work either, is it both of our computers?" He replied that he would look into it..for the 2 days we were there it was NOT looked into and never did work. Then the free cable..12 stations and 7 of them are so fuzzy that it is just not worth the trouble. But like a idiot I ask about that one and was told it had to be my cable running into my rig. Lets see I have traveled for 11 months now and not one problem before I entered this dump and not one problem with computer or cable since I left. Overheard someone (behind a door) yelling at a work camper (told it was a work camper later that day) because the work camper did not want to go tell someone in one of the cottages that their rent was 30 bucks a night more than they were quoted. Their is absolutely no reason for anyone to stay here unless you are about to pass out and need to pull off of Hwy 101 for the night. The bathhouse needs painting real bad, the tile in the bathhouse is very old. The sites are not level and are made of rock...gee when I think of Resort this place has ZERO of that going for it. Buyer beware because their are a lot better parks in the area than this one. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The owners of this park are very friendly and accommodating. While the park has a rustic feel to it, the interior roads are smooth and well maintained. The sites are spacious and the hookups are fine. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi signal did not reach our site. We had a good time in Gold Beach and hiking along the Pacific coast south of the town. We stayed for a week and would return to this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I too was disappointed after seeing the pictures on the website. The grass was brown and the creek was nothing more than a scum pond. The staff were friendly enough. The office and surrounding buildings were newer and clean but it is obviously they were their focus because the campground itself looks forgotten. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I was totally disappointed in this rv park based on the website pics. It was dusty, the grass was yellow, the sites were uneven gravel, the creek wa dry, and mossy. The management was nice, and there were some cool campers that we hung out with as there is nothing to do there. The only redeeming feature was the rock that looks like a turtle. There is one restaurant/bar in walking distance. Gold Beach itself looks like a cool little town but the campground could use some work. It sounds like there may be better Rv parks nearby. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Really enjoyed this campground. The sites are quite large. It's quiet and peaceful and the area is beautiful. It's just a short walk to the ocean. We will definitely be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This tired park is slowly being converted to park models. The $32 price is the off season rate. It is on the Hunter Creek, not on the ocean. There is no easy access to the ocean, but rather a rugged path. There are a few pull-throughs. I will stay here again if I need to but I will go up the coast to the Winchester Bay Marina and RV Park if I want to stay for a longer period. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean overall. A bit rustic meaning that there are no cement or paved pads. They have crushed rocks in each site. It was an easy walk to the beach and the staff was very friendly. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice little park close to the beach and Hwy 101. Good satellite and free Wi-Fi connection. Sites are a good size but could be tidied up a little bit. Cable connector was broken at our site. Friendly, helpful staff. Restrooms and showers were very clean. Found it to be a little pricey compared to others in the area. Otherwise, a pleasant visit and I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Does anybody remember what an old "fish camp" looks like? Well, this is it! A run-down old park that is converting to park models. I'll skip it next time through that area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
RV park is located just off of U.S. 101 very near Gold Beach. Restrooms and showers are very clean. Ocean beach is a two minute hike away via a path under 101. Cable TV was not working although no problem with satellite. Spaces are liberal in size. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Worst RV Park we ever stayed at. Upon entry there are several junked double wide trailers across from the office. There is an RV Storage Lot at the entry which looks like junked RV's. There is an RV Sales Lot across from the office with what looks like a junked old GMC for sale. They advertise WiFi- we had no access. They advertise level sites - We ran out of blocks attempting to level site 94. They advertise Cable TV- 12 channels that were flipping in and out every 15 seconds. Construction material, equipment and vehicles parked all over the park. Turtle Rock RV Park made our Christmas Holiday a nightmare. I took a number of photos to back up my comments. I'll email to anyone interested. I also sent copies to the owners in the hope they would repair their trailer park dump. These people should be ashamed to use what seems to be false advertising based on our experience. By the way this was our second visit. We stayed at site 93 Christmas of 2005 and it looked very much the same but on that visit Management told us it would all cleaned up. We trusted them. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very nice park with nice sties. Nice pull-thru sites. Some sites back up to river and ocean is on other side of road. The lady at the office was nice and very helpful. Will stay here again and highly recommend. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a nice park with pull thrus, full hookup, cable, wifi. It is just over priced. The sites are gravel, the place needs a bit of spit and polish to warrant the prices. The walkway to the ocean which is stated to be easy is not easy. You are paying for proximity to the ocean and a river view site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
There are two sections of this park. The lower section is close together and have no view. The upper area is much larger, they have individual patios and a great view. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our first visit to Oregon with an RV was very enjoyable due to the staff of Turtle Rock RV Park. Everything you see on their website is quite accurate. Looks to be an old mill site that has been refurbished into quite a comfortable park. Many pull throughs available, as well as numerous back in sites. Sites are heavily graveled and level. We would advise to park away from the highway. Where we were, the road noise was not noticeable, but we could hear the ocean quite well. The restrooms were immaculate, as well as the laundry center and shower facilities. The store is fairly well stocked for those last minute or forgotten items. Beach is available from the park. Thank you Turtle Rock RV park for making our visit so enjoyable. See you again We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Turtle Rock RV Resort is a bit of an overstatement. The park has some nice grass but very little if any shade. The site we were in had large shallow holes and sloping areas that I could see at night. When I un-hooked from my truck the trailer rolled into one of the holes and the nose jack slide off the railroad tie blocks that I use to support it. Needless to say, some damage occurred to the jack when that happened. Also, several utility boxes that were flush with the ground were simple covered with a light piece of plywood. If I had backed over that, my trailer would have been stuck for sure. The staff were nice and pleasant and the facility was pretty nice. The restrooms and showers were exceptionally clean and well stocked. Getting to the beach was a bit of a hike though. Over all, it was a nice simple little place. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice place. Friendly staff and owners. Had just put up christmas lights all over and looked great! Good beach access. Showers very nice and clean. Quiet. Would definitely come back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Everyone here was very friendly and helpful, the bathrooms were new and spotless (private shower, sink and toilet). We would definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We excitedly pulled in to the campsite late at night. The management was not available. Our electricity at our site did not work. It was repaired the following morning. I am confused by the comments that the beach is easily accessible. We had to cross a swift moving creek twice to get to the beach. It was a 20 minute journey. At our campsite, we hung a small rope to dry my our clothes that had become drenched crossing the creeks and were told that there is a coin-operated laundromat for clothes drying and that hanging clothes to dry in the campsite was not allowed. We were also disappointed that many of the campsites do not have firepits including ours. I would not recommend this RV park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly staff. Owner is trying to improve campground but has a long way to go. A word of warning, they don't know how to give refunds evidently and have a strict policy against doing so. Be absolutely sure you want to stay for the entire reservation before you pay! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good beach access under Hwy 101. Park is continuing to be developed, apparently by one person, who operates his backhoe daily, all day long. Gravel roads have many potholes, puddles. Some turning radiuses are marginal for big rig. Hosts were friendly, helpful. Park model units being sold, leased, rented. Nightly rate is based on monthly rate. Electricity is extra. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park site built along river bottom land. It appears park improvements have been on going. All sites & roads gravel. Rest room facilities older but clean. Walk to beach unimproved path. Beautiful beach is worth the walk. If this park were in Kansas would give it a 4. But since on Oregon coast extra points for beauty. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We really liked this place. The cottages were awesome & the park is large & away from traffic & the town. We would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park! Would have given a "9" if they would invest in some pavement! Because it is on adjacent to the Oregon coast lots of dust in the area. This could be a destination park if the owners would invest more time and money into the park. While visiting we saw several deer throughout the park! Staff was VERY friendly, security was ever present. Overall a great Gold Beach experience! Just wish that the owners would see the potential in this park and invest accordingly! We camped here in a Motorhome.
