We stated here in offseason, so half the 'loops' were closed. We stayed in a full hookup site in the Look "C" section. Camp sites were nicely separated with large trees that also shaded each site. (Satellite TV might be problematical -- but Cable TV was supplied.) The restroom/shower closest to our site was older and was worn, but was reasonably clean. It was NOT HEATED nor was the building well insulated, so it was very brisk in 40 degree weather to take a shower. (I would have rated this lovely park higher, had the shower been nicer.) Cable TV worked well and the staff we spoke with were very nice and helpful, especially a volunteer in the Welcome Center. We would stay here again ... in warmer weather. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were here in a 40' RV. It was a little tight getting in the spot, but we have four slides so have to make sure there is room to open them. We were on two different sites & neither of them was real level so make sure you have something to put under your tires or jacks. We did not get TV, not even with antenna. Our cell & internet was "iffy" most of the time. Even if we got our internet to work, it was very slow. The park itself was nice & you could walk under the road to the beach. You were very close to Newport & there were plenty of places within a short drive. We would return there if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Tight, closely spaced, somewhat level sites. Friendly staff. No satellite signal in this forested campground. Verizon signal good. Only a few miles from Newport, OR and plenty of shopping. Good place to stay while exploring the middle Oregon Coast. Rate reflects outrageous Reserve America rate of $8 per reservation. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Friendly rangers made check in a breeze. Park is in a large old growth woods that allows little sunlight to campsites. Park was rather noisy even late into the night (2AM) in section C. Sites are not real level with pads being very narrow. The sites are large overall. It is tight when driving around in a 40' motorhome. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is another beautiful Oregon State park. It is a bit north of Newport and huge. Paved roads, we had electricity and water as the full service sites are few. Lots of beautiful huge trees and you can walk to the beach from the park. Our major beef is there is only one place to put your garbage and that is at the front entrance to the park which was one heck of a hike for us. We would recommend this park and come back to it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The camp sites are sheltered well from the ocean winds. There are multiple showers/bathrooms in the campground. The large trees and curved roads hide the fact that the campground is really large. I have reservations to stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We arrived and setup at night, when we woke up we could see the ocean under the picturesque bridge from our truck camper. What a great surprise! very nice campground. The bathrooms could use heat, being March, the restrooms were as frosty as the ground, this is why I gave an 8. I will definitely return. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

Great value. Great location. Beautifully treed campground. G loop has the most private and quieter sites, but only power/water. The showers were not clean because of the other campers, but they are nice and hot. Lots of level sites on pavement. Quick beach access. Some sites are close to the road, but come with a beach view. Large picnic tables available. Large fire pits: although, they do need to be cleaned out as they are quite full. Information center on site. Nature walks can be taken from the campground. There is a playground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Another great Oregon State Park. This one fills up on the weekends. We usually get in on Thursday and leave on Monday. This time we left on Sunday with a long line at the Dump station. 30amp power was a little weak, my surge protector kicked things on and off through the night on Saturday. Great place to camp. Outstanding Oregon State Park campground right across the highway from Beverly Beach, a wide, sandy beach that stretches for miles with easy access through an underpass from the campground. Another great Oregon campground. Lots of private sites, heavily forested just 5 miles north of Newport. Great place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love this campground. No one does campgrounds like the State of Oregon, right from the reservation procedures & info, to your stay. Our only complaint and it is really kind of funny: The volunteers guard the trash area as if if were Fort Knox and everyone entering it was a bumbling idiot. All the carts are clearly marked but they hover over you constantly stating the obvious. "That's were the can's go, etc." when the sign "CANS" practically hits you in the face. Very annoying to be treated like a moron. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of our favourite Oregon's state parks. If you like trees, mostly shaded sites, and the ocean. There are lots of options in the sites; dry tent camping to large rigs (stay in B loop). Note: you'll likely need your fleece because that wind off the ocean is very cool! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Lots of trees. Very well kept and clean. Beach is very close by, walking distance. If you are looking for privacy, there isn't much at this park due to the large canopy of the older growth trees. Sites are close to each other. Luckily we were here during spring break, so the state park closed certain sites and it felt like we had some decent privacy. We were here for a week and I noticed that some spots were more difficult to back in for bigger RV's than others, so I can see it being a challenge for beginners. This park is smack dab in between Newport and Depoe Bay, Lincoln city isn't that much further north of Depoe Bay either. We would camp here again. The nice part is that we had cable tv hookup which is a nice change. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Absolutely gorgeous park with a great location. Sites are in a forested area and very private. Sites closest to the beach may get some road noise. We were in the G loop and it was very quiet. Our kids loved the beautiful beach (short walk), playground, and the pesky racoons! We did not want to leave. Can't wait to go back! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is our third time at this Oregon State Park. It is showing some wear from a very active summer. We enjoy this park with the proximity to the ocean and the great food in Newport. We found a site that allowed our satellite dish to work which is not common in this park. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park right near the beach. Pretty crowded, but it was just after Labor day, and the kids were still out of school. Not huge sites, but lots of trees, so there is some privacy. We camped in a tent next to the stream and just a hop, skip and a jump to the ocean! I was afraid the highway would be loud, but it was not at all! We saw a beaver and raccoons on the banks of the stream and also bats swooping in for drinks! The beach was amazing and beautiful. When we visit there again, we will stay in the loop one over from the stream (a little more privacy). Nice playground for all ages!

I would have given this park a 10 if there were trash cans throughout the park. There is one trash facility at the entrance of the park. Not a big deal, but kind of a pain, especially when you are walking your dog, pick up their mess, and can't immediately dispose of it in a camp trashcan. We camped in a pull through site with electric and water hookup only. We stayed 4 nights and would camp again if we were able to reserve a site that was a bit more private. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We had a 3 night stay, the camp hosts were friendly and helpful guiding us to local attractions. Our site was just OK, the hookups were near the front, and our connections are near the back/middle of the coach. We needed extra hoses for the water. Our site was so treed, we could not even see the sky, making it seem dark all the time. We enjoyed the park and it's close proximity to the beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our rate was for a full hookup RV site including the service fee to book online. We liked Beverly Beach because it was a short walk from the campsite to the beach. Our site was in the F loop so it was really quiet with lots of trees. We backed to a little pond so the frogs were quite loud but we felt like we were camping. Our site did not have cable TV. Although the sites were not right next to each other, it did not feel very private because often, walking trails went along sites or even behind sites. It was a tough getting our 35-foot motorhome through some of the turns as the park was very full, and turns could be pretty tight. We enjoyed the trail through a forested area and the kids enjoyed the huge playground. It also would have been nice if there were more places to dump trash throughout the park. We only could find one up near the front entrance and our campsite was towards the back of the park. However, we plan on returning in the future, but will ask for Loop B. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Despite a large number of sites, there are a lot of trees and you don't feel like you are on top of the next camper. It's an easy walk onto the sand and down the beach. If you call early and make reservations (we didn't) you can get in the loop that has full hookups (cable TV included) and look out directly onto the beach. There were a lot of campers but we still felt fairly secluded and loved that fresh ocean air! We camped here in a Motorhome.

A great State Park to use as a base for exploring this part of the beautiful Oregon coast. Many different types of sites are available from tent sites to yurts and everything in between. Sites in the A loop, closest to the beach, also have cable TV. We chose a full hook-up site farther back in the woods to stay out of the high winds. Be advised that if you come in the winter the weather can be stormy, but this can also make for some of the most dramatic wave watching. You'd be wise to make reservations in the summer. You pretty much can't go wrong with any of the Oregon State Parks as far as I'm concerned. We've camped here before and would certainly stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground was fine, but we will not be camping here again. I don't know how many of the campsites at Beverly come with this disclaimer, but ours did with our reservation confirmation: "Please do not dump a full holding tank into the campsite connection as it may overflow. Use the dump station located near the registration booth." When we arrived at our site it was apparent that not everyone reads (or chooses to follow) these instructions. It seems they should either have a fully functioning sewer hook up or seal it shut. I for one would certainly prefer having the dump station as the only option as opposed to leaving things to chance. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very nice State Park! Very busy, lots of traffic, kids, bicycles, & dogs! Our site was great...back in the G loop. The site was surprisingly private! Most sites seemed quite large. We were in no way disappointed but probably will not return to this specific park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground was very nice but as with most all government campgrounds, you can have campfires and it seemed like most everyone had to have a campfire. With there not being any wind the smoke hung in the air. You could not site outside and enjoy the nice cool evenings. I would really be nice if campfires were outlawed in government campgrounds. This was our only complaint with the campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camp here on a regular basis. Arguably the best State campground in Oregon which is noted for having some great campgrounds. Its located adjacent to a beautiful beach but you need to walk under the highway bridge to gain access. The campground is heavily treed and has some great walking trails, kid playgrounds, streams, and old gnarly trees. The restrooms & shower facilities are clean. The campground is very large and if you want a campsite near the Ocean you should probably make a reservation. We tend to pick a campsite further back in the woods which is a bit quieter and we enjoy the 1/4 mile walk through the campground to the beach. The campground is about a 5 minute drive to Newport for dining, shopping etc. and is about a 20 minute drive to Lincoln City where you can find an Indian Casino as well as shopping and dining. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We came to this park after visiting Nehalem Bay State Park. We would choose this one in a heart beat over Nehalem. The sites are so beautiful and private. You can walk to the beach along the trail by the stream or on the road. Because you don't have a long slog through a sandy path as at Nehalem, the time to get to the beach really doesn't seem that long. Make sure you spend some time at Devil's Punch Bowl State Park, an easy walk along the beach or a short drive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Another nice Oregon state park. Lots of trees as mentioned. Only drawback was the layout. The loops keep going deeper and deeper into the woods. This is good and bad. Adds quite a bit of time just getting all the way to the back of the park where we were. Hence a very long walk back out to the beach. But good for peace and quiet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice State Park with paved pads and plenty of trees. It appeared that all sites had campfire rings and picnic tables. It seemed as if no (2) sites were directly next to each other so it can be fairly quiet and private. I did not try satellite but it looked like reception to the sky may be obstructed by all the trees. There was firewood for sale and the kids enjoyed the 1 playground. Be aware of hook ups as some had sewer, 30 amp, and H20 while others only had 15 amp. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was my very first experience with camping of ANY kind, in my "new" RV, over 2500 miles from my lifelong home in the Midwest...and it was wonderful! The beautiful Pacific Ocean, and a nice beach for walking, is right across the street, although there was a lot of construction going on which made the walk a bit dicey and the view nonexistent. The Park Rangers and resident "Camp Hosts" were all polite, informative and nice! The staff was pretty bare-bones, as it was mid-winter when we visited for two weeks, but then again, often we were the only campers in the entire State Park!!! We rode out a truly incredible wind and rain storm in the protected woods of the camp loops. Beautiful, old growth, huge cedar trees and incredible ferns and other undergrowth made for a serene and true in-the-forest experience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is great for tenters, but I would say the park is barely accessible to big rigs. Our motorhome is 38' and we felt like we were the largest motorhome in the park. The roads are narrow, and in bad shape. We were in the "C" loop, and in order to avoid exiting the park by going all the way to the end of the loops, and back, we had to go around the C loop. It is narrow and in terrible shape. From reading the reviews, I was expecting much more in this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wow! What a beautiful state park. It's hard to put into words just how gorgeous the setting is. The sites are well spaced and surrounded by old growth forest and vegetation. There are plenty of things for kids (the young and old ones) to do, including nature walking, hiking, biking, flying kites and walking along the beach. We went into town one day and picked up fresh bread and produce at the farmers market, which was downright scrumptious. You simply can't go wrong spending time here. We will definitely go back when in the area and will try to get a site along the forest. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful RV park. Lots of shade trees, lots of trails to walk. Less then a 5 min walk to the beach. Park hosts in every section, state police patrolled, safe, quite, friendly camp ground. Fire pits at every site, and most are full hook ups. Nice large dump station with full turn around. Big rigs easy to move through the park. Set on the coast, but feels like the high mountains. Five star Park. Located 7 miles north of Newport Oregon on Hwy 101. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a really beautiful campground with large, private sites and shade provided by densely packed evergreen trees and thick underbrush. Our site backed up to a small creek to the south. An easy walk to the scenic, wide beach under US 101. The folks that work there are very friendly and helpful. Firewood and ice are readily available. The park is obviously well cared for, but the bathrooms, although generally clean, could use a little more maintenance (e.g., partially plugged drains in the shower, countertops a little beat up). We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Great campground. Full hookups and reasonably priced. Lots of shade. Sites are almost all in the woods but it's not overgrown. The ocean is a short walk under Rt 101. Great ranger programs - kids really liked the tour of tide pools at low tide. Ranger talks most days and nights. Close to Newport for shopping and restaurants. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Located across Highway 101 from the ocean. There is a walk through for access at the
lower end of the campground. The campground is nestled in a dense forest complete with scads of raccoons. It was practically deserted the night we spent here in November. Another spectacular Oregon campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very small, privately owed park but it is within feet of the Yaquina Bay. You can see the lighthouse; it's really a nice spot. Within walking distance to many attractions in the area; it's right under the bridge but you really can't hear the cars over the ocean. Nice little store here too. Employees are super nice. If you wanted to just stay the night or a couple, it's worth it. Even if it is small. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is okay on the blacktop side. Spaces are large enough for my 43 foot trailer with parking space for my truck. Wi-Fi is slow to none connection. The main bath room is not large enough for this campground but lots of bathrooms and showers scattered around the marina. The main one is clean and well taken care of, the others show their usage. Lots of things to do around here, so we stayed a week. Saw the seals, science building with the octopus being fed, etc. Had a good time and would come back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park does not seem to have a competent staff. Registration gal seemed stressed and un-familiar with calculating fees. Bathrooms were not supplied and were not clean. Two people smoked on porch. Did not stay. Not worth the drive away from coast highway beach access. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sad little place in a good location, off the town bay front. Arrived late (because Elks lodge was full) with only a few sites open- many full-time residents here. Only one that wasn't jammed up against a neighbor was along the road and next to the dumpster. Our door opened into the busy road. Only one working bathroom available, with shower and toilet inside, so long wait. Office staff gal sat outside and smoked, very indifferent to park. Cable TV was great. Won't be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great place to spend some time in Newport. It's a nice walk to the marina, restaurants and bars. It's clean and safe. You can hear the sea lions in the harbor. It's not the place for people who want huge sites and lots of park activities. We stay here every year for a week or so (this year for two). The nightly rate is the pro-rated weekly rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice staff. Park is not fancy, but everything works and you can hear the sea lion barks echoing all evening. They do quiet down after dark. The walk to the historic waterfront shopping district isn't too far, maybe a half mile. We were just there for an overnight and were very satisfied. All the neighbors around us were very quiet and friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park seemed older. Sites kind of funky. All prime sites are occupied with full timers. Tight campsites, steep hills, no room for tables. "10 minute" walk to old town is more like 30 minutes, but not bad. It took about hour to find site that was usable with our std..RV. Confusion in office about site services. The previous poster is correct about the current status. The HOA is making improvements and fixing up the resort. Nice seaside location with trail to the beach. Best laundry facilities I've found. WiFi was ok, occasionally sluggish. Good selection of channels on cable but no HD. Sites well groomed, level concrete slab. Plenty of room to maneuver big RVs around. Each site in individually owned and most are available for rent when owner is not here. 1/2 the money goes to the owner and 1/2 to the HOA. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The lot owners recently became the owners after Outdoor Resorts went under. Currently the rates are a great value. I hope they maintain the rates. The park sits on a cliff over looking the ocean. There's a walkway to the beach. The clubhouse is awesome with heated indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. There's also a heated outdoor pool. The sites are second to none. You have to call to get a reservation. They didn't have a reservation system or web site yet when we stayed here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a week in the lower section. The following is a little bit of background info on this resort that I learned from some of the owners, that may shed some light on the poor review mentioned below. The previous owner: Outdoor Resorts of Oregon (not Outdoor Resorts of America BTW) declared bankruptcy and the court awarded the resort to the HOA. I understand that while ORO was in bankruptcy, they did not do anything to the resort for maintenance, repair, or upkeep; hence, the golf course, pools, trails to the beach were all left untouched for several months. Only the basic needs were taken care of. Now that the resort is under the mgt of the HOA, they have rectified all of these misgivings that were listed below. The resort is fully functional and is pristine clean. I have also been informed by some of the owners here, that the lots that were previously owned by ORO that were selling for around $50k each, are now being almost being given away for the modest price of $7K each. We enjoyed some of the activities that the HOA provides (pot lucks, BBQs, and miscellaneous get togethers) and will definitely come back again. We also enjoyed the game room, pools, and club house as we were invited by one of the owners to join them in some card games, food, and wine at the club house. We had the large fire place going and had a great time. As mentioned by another review, the owners were very friendly as were the security guards and maintenance people. My only negativity to this resort is that whereas each site is provided with a picnic table, I noticed that many are in need of repair and/or painting. Also the area to the south of the resort looks really rundown and is weed covered. I understand that this area is an "overflow" area and will be cleaned up in the near future. Right now it really distracts from the rest of the resort. If you have a motorcoach and want to stay at a very nice resort on the Oregon Coast, this one is for you. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort no longer exists! Outdoor Resorts of America declared bankruptcy at this park and on the Aug 1, 2012 the courts awarded the property to the Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort Home Owners Association. All of the owners I talked to were thrilled that they (HOA) will be running this park and Outdoor Resorts are not longer associated with the park. Both pools were very clean when we stayed there. I was told that they had just been repaired and resurfaced and it is why the pools had looked green from the last reviewer. Apparently Outdoor Resort didn't perform any up keep to the park lately. Prices were very low for this type of a resort, we paid $30 for a space, cable TV and Wi-Fi were included. I think if your looking for a great place to relax and enjoy the coast of Oregon this is definitely the place to go. We will be staying here more often. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Friends recommended Newport Oregon as a place to see and frankly all the RV parks and state parks were sold out so we stayed at the ORA. We thought the reduced rate of $70.00 was crazy high, but we really did not have a choice. To be accurate, there we some $30.00 lots to be had, but we figured after the long trip there that we would indulge ourselves with an ocean view. A 50 mile trek from I-5 to the coast felt like much longer than 50 miles winding through the mountains. When we arrived at Pacific Shore ORA, it was initially a nice upscale looking place. Within only a few minutes, we saw the warts of a place that is in distress. I decided to walk the dogs down to the beach to relax. When I arrived at the cliff, the stairs to the beach were not deployed and there was no access to the beach, so no beach walk for me and the dogs. I then wandered to the main building where there was a nice big room for events and an indoor pool area. Excited, I found my way to the pool through the bathroom. It looked very nice, but there was a sign that said that it was closed. I went back to my RV and decided to take a walk to see what I could find. There are two distinct areas of the park as if they were built at separate times. One is toward the ocean from the front entrance and the other north. When I walked to the other area, there was another pool. I assume this is the one for the renters, so I walked past the bathhouse toward the pool area. There was a “pool closed” sign and the pool was pea soup green. The spa looked okay, but there was a lock on the gate. I walked past the guard to the main building and it was closed. There was a gift shop, but looked closed for a long time with mostly empty shelves and cold case peering through the window. I did notice many maintenance people, but found it strange that there was a third RV area that was total weeds and unused. Almost like a ghost town. The lots all look nice and the grass is well kept. The literature said there was a golf course, but I never saw it. Some of the roads at the resort are buckling and cracking from the fault lines. Some went through the sites with huge cracks in the asphalt. The internet was very bad for me because I use an iPad. The login is old fashion through a browser instead of an access code that stays logged in through the Wi-Fi computer connection. Every time I wanted to get on the internet, I had to re-login. Typing in the username and then the long case sensitive password was a real pain not having a traditional keyboard. So, nothing to do other than watch TV. I would not go back to this park because it is a long trip and nothing to do. The cliff view of the Oregon coast and the lighthouse was amazing, but a once see experience. We stayed here to offer some fun activities for our child, as camping in the rain and being stuck inside an RV isn't always our daughters favorite thing. The internet advertised a clubhouse with a fireplace, a game room, and pool area. Due to having to work part of the day, we arrived after hours on a Friday at about 530 pm. The park was very empty. We asked when making reservations what type of spot was closest to clubhouse. We were told they were all central, so we chose an ocean view site. Nice site, but very far from the clubhouse with no walkways to the clubhouse except at entrance furthest from us. We were told upon asking why we were put so far away that the lots are on a rotation basis so the individual owners can get rent revenue. We entered the clubhouse at just after 615 pm. No fire in the clubhouse, all lights off. We found the second story game room, and again all lights were off. The games? All unplugged and off. At least our daughter got to swim, when complaining to the staff the next day we were told it was common for the owners to shut down pool early also and that they want to shut clubhouse down. They didn't really seem to care that we felt misled based on the internet site for the resort. No store, all is gone there too. We asked to speak to a manager, none was available, this was at 845 am. The lady at the desk said the new manager was really trying to make things better at the resort. We checked out at five to noon, never heard from a manager. After eating breakfast, we went back to the clubhouse. Again, no fire, all lights off in main room and game room. All games off and unplugged. How can you play a family fun game or read a book by the fire if all is shut or off? If they want to stay in business, why wouldn't the manager call us? Not worth the premium over a clean ocean view state park at all! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed three nights here in an ocean front site. The view was good, you can see the Yaquina Head lighthouse and the waves rolling in. However, the sites were high on a bluff fairly close together, and you couldn't see the actual shoreline unless you walked down a maintained path to a viewing area. The park was almost deserted, very few people staying there. The cable service was not good, disappointing considering what we paid for the site. If we were to stay there again we would opt for the cheapest sites $50 a night, a much better value. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stopped here for a couple of days to beat the heat from the interior of the state. It is a beautiful location and well maintained park. The rental rates are what I would consider VERY pricey. As a previous review stated they are privately owned pads available for rental. I thought I would check it out on the possibility of getting a good deal on one. You just get a feeling that the place is struggling to maintain it's standards financially. We would definitely stay here again but I don't think I would buy into it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has "gone to the dogs" literally! It is frustrating to us when a park has a printed set of rules regarding pets, and then does not make their lot owners/guests follow them. The printed rules stated "limit of 2 pets per site," yet there were several owners/guests with 3, and some even had 4! The "do not leave pets unattended" rule was ignored also, and dogs were left to continually bark while their owners were away. Not being pet owners ourselves, we really wished there were RV Parks in Oregon that were "pet free." We would love the peace and quiet! This park is pretty to look at with nice lawns and some ocean views, but the nuisance of the dogs may keep us from coming back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our third visit to this park and it is showing signs of wear and tear. Remaining lots are now offered for sale at $20,000 but any reasonable offer might be accepted. Some premium sites are slowly sinking due to a fault line that runs through the park. Some owners complained about the HOA and ORA. Wi-fi was intermittent at best, and the gift shop has pretty much closed up. But it is a beautiful park with well kept sites and spectacular views. Ownership now is at a bargain and when the economy picks up the value of your lot will increase dramatically. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful RV resort right on the Pacific. We had a lovely ocean vista site that featured a glassed in patio and a wonderful table with a firepit in the middle. Nice exercise room, good laundry facilities, great view of the ocean. All the sites are well kept and up to the Outdoor Resorts standards. The only downside is that the access to the beach was blocked off, probably due to the fact that storms had taken out the stairways. We scrambled down the cliffs to get there, despite seeing paths blocked by yellow tape. Great beach for walking, so the resort should repair the access. We would definitely recommend this resort to others. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We came into the park on Tuesday morning and liked the park so much that we purchased an RV lot there and we are now owners. One of the best investments I have ever made. This is a fabulous park and the stairs to the ocean have been replace with a new steel stairway. There are no pull thoroughs, there are pull in's. With the utilities on the drivers side, to the rear of your coach. So your facing the beautiful view of the ocean with the Yaquina light house to the south. This is one the most spectacular views on the west coast. The weather is a perfect 72 degrees tomorrow. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had the most incredible view of the lighthouse and Pacific! Unfortunately, steps down to ocean had been washed out during the winter. We were told they would be rebuilt later. This is a Class A/C (over 25') RV park. No trailers allowed. Also, park has no pull through sites and some of the back in sites are at a 90 degrees from the access roads which makes backing a 45' MH difficult. Overall, the park is very clean including laundry rooms (2), Shower rooms (2), game room, meeting room, spas (2), kitchen, and an indoor and outdoor heated pools. All sites come with 50/30/15 amps (and yes, some outlets do have some rust on them: next to the ocean, you know), high water pressure, WiFi, cable TV, and of course sewer. Pads are concrete that sometimes "look" dirty, but I think are just the nature of the type of concrete finish they have here. Each has a nice lawn with hedges and other plants sometimes separating one site from an adjacent site. Some sites have been "fixed up" by their owners with wind deflectors and larger pads/pavers for more outdoor entertaining. Those along the north end, have nice retaining walls, patio pavers, with lots of flowers and other plants. Staff is nice, but not "real" friendly. Security at the gate and roaming throughout the day and night. Little highway noise if located at the sites next to Hwy 101, and ocean wave noise if located at the sites closest to the beach. It seems like there is always something going on at the clubhouse or out on the small golf course. Lots of activity that everyone is invited to. Potlucks, entertainment, rallys, and such seem to be the norm here. Most definitely will stay here again next time through this area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice place. No trashy rigs here. Only Class A motorhomes no more than 10 years old are allowed. $50 a night is the lowest rate they have up to $90 night for ocean front. Situated north of Newport next to Highway 101 but quiet even though we were close to road. Delivered a morning paper which was a first. You have to walk a bit to the beach but the trail is well maintained. Nice dog area so dog owners have a good place to take their pets to do their business, instead of where you walk as most places let dog owners get by with. Has two swimming pools and a super nice lodge. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Despite it being July, the temperature was 55 during the day and very windy. The park was half filled. The park is very clean with a very helpful staff. The electrical outlets are rusted and need to be replaced by the owners. The workout room had old equipment and was in some disrepair. The indoor pool and jacuzzi was clean as well as the restrooms. I arrived on time, security had my package with all info about the resort and gave me directions to my site. The site was difficult to get into with 45' coach. The pad was dirty and broken in a couple of places. The picnic table (old and falling apart) should be used for firewood. The electric box was rusted badly and kept arcing my supply. I did contact security (as he was driving past) and informed him of the situation. 1 hour later, I called the front office phone number, which was after hours now. I was directed to security. The same Security office, whom was nice, said he told maintenance about the situation. The maintenance person told him they had a family thing to go to! I thought I was on a family thing! I informed security that I would power-up off the supply next door. I will check with maintenance in the morning. Also, after getting settled on our lot, a nice lady from the Resort stopped by to inform me that the beach (stairs) were broken! We did not have access to the beach from the resort? I thought that's why the resort was here? Anyway I will have a follow-up report after completing our stay of 1 week. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A great RV park with stunning views. Mostly Class A rigs: and definitely big rig compatible. Some slight water pressure issues I thought, but the park was nearly full when we were here (mid week). Would definitely use it again, but wish the price were a little lower. If staying in the sites along the outer edges (road and north/south sides) beware: lots of road noise from 101 all night. On the south edge, the park butts up to a residential area where it seemed everyone had a dog: so when you came or went anywhere near that area the 'dog alarms' went off all the time. Could be very annoying, I would imagine. We have ocean view: couldn't have been better (well it could have, but ocean front wasn't available). Enjoy this park and the area! We stayed here a number of years ago when this park first opened and remembered it as being a high-end resort. Fortunately for us they do allow Class C RVs and were having a $30/night special. Even with all the seasonal and lot owner sites, the park was less than half full. We stayed 2 days because of the "cheap" rate and rather dismal coastal weather our second day: why travel/sight-see in fog and rain? Other reviews have commented on the quality of the facilities and amenities. While I understand the park's appeal for full-timers and older RVers, the normal price ($50) and retiree atmosphere is a little too much for my tastes. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pros: beautiful with good security, wide spaces, cable works well, good location. Free paper every day at clubhouse. Had one nice park sponsored happy-hour while we were here. Also dog friendly. Cons: if you need reliable internet connection, this place is not for you. Stayed here 9 days and it knocked us off every 5 minutes. Management never returned numerous attempts to call them about the problem. Beach is close but you must be in shape to get there as you have to go down very steep steps. This is, by far, the best RV resort on the Oregon Coast. Keep in mind, however, that it is a big rig RV resort - not a campground with lots of trees and firepits. It is paved roads and concrete pads with grass between sites. Although the park is right on the Pacific ocean, very few sites have direct ocean views; AND they're about $90/day. But the entire resort is so beautiful, it really does not matter where your site is. It is very well located in the northern part of Newport close to all the restaurants and shopping. They offer a big clubhouse, store, and two pools. I would have rated a 10 except for two essential details: They do not offer daily trash pick-up and, most importantly, the office staff (both women) are extremely rude and aloof. They barely look up from their computers and do not smile - ever! My husband thinks that it is because we are not owners (you can also purchase sites here). However, they still have a lot to sell, so you would think at a wonderful place like this the management could find happier people. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We did not actually stay here, but toured the facilities with a salesman. The park is absolutely fantastic, as well described by other posters. I must comment on the office staff, however. The previous reviewer had it dead on: the woman at the front desk barely looked up from her computer screen, and muttered "can I help you" as her greeting. Why she thought that whatever was on her screen was more important than a real live customer will remain a mystery. If I was the sales manager there, the first thing I would do is fire her. This is a high-end resort, mind you, with lots costing as much as $250,000. The developer is now selling some lots for $39,900, which is about half what they were a while ago. This place is all about location. Spots overlooking the sea also get the Yacquina Lighthouse in full view...best views are in the corner, ours was spot 186. Beach is accessible by a short but fairly steep path below. Spots are well spaced with easy hookups. Only facility we used was wifi which worked well. Beware of strong winds (and rain) so jacks down are recommended! About 5 minute drive from Agate Beach (where park is) to Newport town and about 10 minutes away from the old town by the bay. Pricey RV park although, the cheapest sites start at $60 (but you get no view) before discounts. We got a Family Motorcoach 15% discount. I'd recommend staying here for the premium spots with the view but you might look elsewhere if all you want is a clean park to stay at for a cheaper rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The experience of a front row position overlooking the ocean for 30 days in August- September is very difficult to beat anywhere in the US. The park is a 10 in every way. Excellent comradarie with fellow rvers. We enjoyed visiting 15 towns up and down the Oregon Coast and Newport among the best. You can expect cool temperatures, wind, rain and days with partial sun. Sounds perfect if you are from Palm Springs! Looking forward to returning. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has no competition in the Pacific Northwest. Just a class act all around. Great beach, nice staff and very quiet neighbors. Our 9 year old twins had a blast in the pools and on the beach. This was the long weekend in September so more kids I was told then usual. The kids we did see seemed to be with their grandparents, definitely an older crowd but a great experience for us and our new rig. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The Ritz Carlton of RV Parks. From the moment you arrive, until the day you sadly have to leave, they treat you like royalty. Wonderful large sites, with ample width for the biggest coaches, and still room to park a tow comfortably. Many sites front a beautiful grass and forest area. Some face the oceanfront, and the least expensive are along the highway 101 access. Superb WI-FI connection at each site is available complimentary (they used to charge, but it was complimentary on this summer's visit). Excellent cable service, and they even deliver a daily newspaper and newsletter to your door daily. "Room service" is available from their deli in case you don't feel like cooking. Huge indoor pool, as well as outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor spas, exercise facility, and state of the art laundries. I always love visiting this place. My biggest disappointment is having to leave. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice RV Park, and we agree with other reviews of indifference among the staff. The wifi cost us $32/month, with 94% reliability. We discovered our one month rental for August (which increased from $900 to $1450 in 6 months) was only for 30 days, even though August has 31 days. After much argument, management agreed to make an exception for us, and allow us to remain all 31 nights, without further payment, and this was appreciated. We were unable to find the definition of a month equal to 30 days in the literature. This is the policy of the home owners association, as is the policy of charging for wifi. We got really spoiled with coffee every morning, and a newspaper delivered to our door. The grounds are very well kept, and the staff did pick up after those few dog owners who manage to sneak away without cleaning up after Rover! Our motorhome fit fine, but we had to be cautious when parking the tow vehicle - the space was tight. We were in the upper part of the park, and noticed those in the cheaper spaces, closes to Hwy 101, endured lots more highway noise, and the spaces were also shorter. Also, although the resort claims a 35' length minimum, there were several days we noticed units under this limit. During our stay there were typically lots of vacant spaces. Great places in Newport to eat include Kam Meng, a nearby Chinese Restaurant, and the Lighthouse restaurant South of the bridge for excellent fresh fish and crab. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This resort is not for everyone. It is expensive and has a feel of being exclusive. The staff is often seen as being impersonal and cold. That said, it is the finest class A motor home resorts we have experienced so far and would consider it a leader in what will become a standard in the future for class A RV resorts. This is quite a nice park. But I would never pay $90 for a campsite. We were able to enjoy the resort with a coupon. I read in the other review that the park charges for WiFi. Shame on them. At what they charge per night it should be included. Since we were here on a "coupon", we were put in a back-in site where we could hear the road noise from Route 101. But worse than that, the site was not angled to allow easy parking. The guy across the way just had to park his car in such a way that it was even more difficult to park the rig. When I made the reservation I found that individual to be friendly. However, when I called for directions, that person was either stupid or snooty. We do appreciate the cleanliness of the park and having a paved campsite. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very beautiful Outdoor Resorts Campground with great facilities. It offers a great view of the Pacific Ocean. The only negative is that the staff, though polite, are noticeably unfriendly and lack a simple smile when dealing with the public. They seemed bored with having to deal with guests. We stayed here last year in September and rated the stay a 10. Because of the experience, we came back to the same upgraded "ocean front" sites that we stayed in before. Surprise! After a couple of days, a security guard delivers us a message stating that we must move to a non-view site because the owner of the site we are staying at has chosen at the last moment to come here. In their fine print on the back of some of the site maps, not the one they gave us at check-in, they maintain the right to move renters if the owner shows up and wants their site. Beware! It can ruin your experience here immediately. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I agree with all the other reviews. However, there are some things you need to know. The wifi is $3.00 a day, even if you have paid for the most expensive site in the park, as we did. After you pick the cost of the site you wish, they put it in the computer and it goes by rotation. So you get what they give you. The last guy in gets the best spot, at least in our case. We paid for an ocean view and got the spot that was marginal, while the next 2 people got the better view spots. Not sure I would spend that kind of money again for that kind of treatment. Agree with all positive reviews below. Fantastic resort (and I mean RESORT). All facilities spotless, great trails to hike all around and down to the ocean. Beautifully manicured grounds with rambling lawns, towering pines at the perimeter, blacktop driveways, and concrete pads. Very friendly staff. Nice to be parked with other high-line coach neighbors in an upscale location. Sites are owned (condo-style) and rented out when owners are away. Newport nearby with lots of shopping. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves -- enough to seriously consider purchasing one of the available pads. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the Four Season of parks. Everything was very nice. High end for sure. It's expensive but the kids and us had a great time. Right on the cliff looking over the beach. Very impressive RV resort! Friendly staff and very clean facilities! We were upgraded to a Premium Ocean View site because the owners of the site we had rented decided arrive the same time we were to arrive. The property was extremely relaxing! I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone with a Class A or Class C rig over 25', as per Their requirements! The only negative we encountered had nothing to do with the park itself, but with a number of "Not so Friendly" Motor coach owners! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pacific Shores is the nicest resort we have ever stayed in. The facilities are absolutely spotless! They are extremely friendly and it is an absolute pleasure to be there. The guards meet you at the gate so you do not have to exit your coach to check in. The last time we were there they even had a dog show for campers pets. You even get a paper delivered to your rig every morning! The price is high, but it is very worth it to spoil yourself once in a while. You will not regret staying at Pacific Shores. Very upscale, but friendly. This is one of our favorite places, especially in the rainy season. Everything outside the concrete pads is grass or landscaping, so there's no mud to be tracked into the RV. It has a great clubhouse with a game room, weight room, indoor pool, hot tub, big screen, and fireplace. In the winter when it is raining outside these things are very nice. It's up on a bluff and only a few premium sites have much of an ocean view. Also the stairs down to the beach are steep. But you can get down to the beach and see some interesting tide pools. The restrooms and showers have someone there most of the day keeping them clean. They are immaculate. They also have a nice laundry room. It cost a little more to stay near the clubhouse, but it's worth it. We stayed here twice in 2003 and once in 2004 in an RV (and are going back in June). We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park! Only motorhomes allowed in excess of 25'. Great ocean views, and cool weather. Clubhouse, and concrete pads with grass. Park is fairly new, so trees and shrubs are fairly small. This is an upper class type place, with plenty of fancy motorhomes. We camped here in a camper.

Love staying here when passing through Newport! Super clean park and really well maintained. Sites are really large and the paving is in great condition. There are pull-throughs, pull-ins and back-ins, although we opted to nose into a back-in to have a wonderful windshield view of the harbor and the Newport bridge. Arrived in a driving rain but the park's drainage is really good and there was no flooding. Great location to the harbor, aquarium, old town, etc. The 50 amp service worked great and was stable. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The host is the best part of this park. He's friendly and full of information to share about the area. Sites are asphalt with asphalt roads. View of the South Beach bridge. Sites have night lamps in case you arrive in the dark. Next to a marina with a brewery and restaurant 2 blocks away. Nice walking area. Main park full so stayed in annex which is older and across street. Had a back-in which was a little difficult for a big rig due to location of small tree and sewer outlet. We have a 38 footer with 4 slides. The roads and sites are gravel. Site level. Not as well-maintained as the main park but was OK. Did drive through main park and as far as I could tell all site asphalt with good roads. Good walking paths near park and close to some of the areas sights such as the Aquarium. This is one of our favorite parks. It has a spectacular view of the bridge and is located right on the harbor. It is nicely maintained and the bathrooms and laundry are spotless. However, there is only one toilet in the bathroom which is strange for this size of park. The only reason I did not give it a perfect score is lack of WiFi. They advertise it is available but it is so poor that it is basically non-existent. We could get on at two in the morning but could never get our email. Office staff are very nice and helpful but said their hands were tied with regard to the WiFi and that the broadband was not very big. Evidently management does not want to spend extra money on it, which is too bad. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pulling in to the registration area we were met by a professional campground host. He was spectacular in getting us settled in and then he gave us a speech about the area and was a wealth of knowledge for us. We stayed at this RV park 4 nights. It is well maintained and has a great location. Lots to do in the area. Sites are long enough and if you have a fifth wheel everything works better if you pull the trailer through far enough that when you unhook you can park your truck behind your rig. Roads are excellent and they stay on top of the plantings. We really enjoyed the area and did some hiking, great beaches, and the aquarium is excellent. 20 miles to the South and 20 miles to the North is enough to keep you occupied for a week, and we wish had scheduled more time. If it had a pool or decent work out area, I would have to give it a 10. We would absolutely use this park again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park, great location, but it can be difficult to find if you don't know where you are going. Basically follow the signs to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Lot's to do in the immediate area. Lighthouse, aquarium, Public Pier (crabbers actively catching crabs), Hatfield Ocean Research and Agate Beach. A tsunami dock from Japan was on shore when we visited. If you are going to the Bayfront, get there early because the parking is difficult. Park Host was great! He introduced himself and gave us some helpful tips on sights to see. Front desk clerk is wonderful. If you are looking for a dog park with fenced dog run, there are none, but plenty of places to take the dog. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I'm rating the main RV park NOT the annex. The main park is great. Level asphalt pads with convenient hook ups, great Wi-Fi and free cable TV. Paid $600.00 for a month in the RV Annex. TV cable was poor at best, few stations and not all them worked. The Wi-Fi was slow and dropped connections. All the security lights where out and a long timer there said they have been out for 6 months. The rest rooms where dated and so so. Only two for about 50 RV sites. The main building has 8 washers and dryers, but if you stay at the annex, for $600.00 a month, you cannot use them. You must use the ones for the marina, which only has 3, one of which has been broken for a month. By the way, did I mention all the trash blowing around or the knee high grass growing between the different RVs. It seems they do not care about maintaining the annex part of the park. For only another $150.00 a month I could of stayed in the main part. WAY over priced for what you get. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We LOVE this RV park! We stayed in the new one by the boat launch, not the annex. The park host was TOTALLY AWESOME!! The staff inside the office was VERY NICE and helpful. We will stay here often. Beautiful views of the bridge, the boats moored, the bay, and the jetties. Level spots, all paved. Be prepared though.. most of the hook ups are on the wrong side. Not sure who designed this park, but they goofed. Had it not been for that, this would have been a 10. We had to hook up our 5th wheel via an extension cord to get power, and had to dump at an empty pull through before we left. This is a nice enough park though, I'm going to make an extension for my 50 amp cord, and sewer hose. If you're camping in an trailer, or 5th wheel, the sites nearest the moored boats would be best as the hook ups are on the correct side. We camped here in a Motorhome.

However, the address we got off the Internet was 600 SE Bay Blvd and this puts you on the wrong side of the river and is their main office. The office manager kindly guided us to the right place. Stayed in the dry camp area over the holiday weekend, with lots of other rigs. It is just a parking lot, but the sites are larger and the views better than the RV park, at less than 1/2 the price. This is a full hookup park as part of the marina. There is a dry camping lot before you get to the RV park which is basically a paved parking lot. The RV park has paved roads and sites with some small bushes between sites. The site was long enough to leave the tow vehicle attached. Utilities worked fine. Short walk over to the marina, many boats. They give passes for the shuttle bus. Close to the aquarium. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is located on a marina with a great view of Yaquina Bay Bridge and magnificent sunsets. Roads and sites are paved. Nice big pull throughs that can accommodate rigs and toad over 60 feet. Our Verizon cell phone and wireless internet worked fine. Good satellite reception. This is a great place for crabbing and clamming. It’s also a great place to leave your rig and travel the coast. This park provides free shuttle service to the bay front and beyond. This park also has a wonderful camp host that tells you the must see and dos in the area. While here we visited Sea Lions Caves, Nye Beach, and Depoe Bay. One negative is no picnic tables on sites because the sites are too narrow. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Port of Newport is a nice RV park. However, what made our stay extremely special was the Host. He is the best Host anywhere. (We stayed at 22 other camp sites in the 9 states that we visited, and most times we did not even know where the host was.) The host welcomed us immediately with a big smile, helped us with parking, gave us pamphlets regarding " things of interest and restaurants", and, had some pretty good jokes. He told us where his site was and to come by if we needed help with anything. He obviously loves his job. He should receive the Host of the Year Award. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great place. Loved the bay view of bridge & sunset. Bike path to Aquarium and south jetty. Nice hosts, spacious sites. Kind of expensive, but GS discount. Good laundry room, clean restroom but only one shower. Will come back and stay longer, it's worth the cost. Cheaper sites in the grubby Annex close to bridge, and huge parking lot dry sites ($17+). Cable TV only had 20+ stations; others in town have 60+...only drawback besides price. Oh- The town bus comes by; you can ride free (with a pass from office) to the bay front and beyond. This park is another favorite of ours. Nice big pull thru's that are very clean and well maintained. Great view of the bay, bridge, boats, etc. We love to ride our bikes to the beach from here. They are currently working on bike/walk paths that are going to be great! This park also has the BEST camp host. We always love to come here and visit with him. He is very friendly and has lots of ideas of things to do in Newport. We will be back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent park, very clean and well maintained. It is all cement roads with small spaces of landscaping between each RV spot. Staff is friendly and most helpful. View of bridge and sunsets are beautiful. This is a great place to leave the RV and travel around the area. Lots of activity close by. Visit Newport and the ocean. Crab or fish off the fishing dock. We always visit at least once a year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice Park. We stayed here on our way down 101. Facilities are nice and clean. Hard to go wrong on the Oregon coast. Fishing seems to be a big draw here, and our neighbors shared some of their fresh crab with us. Very nice! The Rogue brewery next door was fun as well. Fresh beer and Pub food was great. Plenty of room around the park to walk the pup. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There is occasionally a terrible odor that smells like sewage. The camp host told us it comes from a pulp mill upstream and is very rare occurrence. Not sure how he defines rare. We experienced it 4 of the 5 days we stayed here. It does not last long, a few minutes to an hour or so, but is extremely nauseating. It is impossible to sleep when the wind is blowing from the direction of the mill. There are no shade trees, no tables at each space. Campground is not particularly quiet. WiFi is an additional $5.00 per day. Basic cable TV is very limited. This park is an over priced parking lot with nice bathrooms and laundry facilities. Camp host was very friendly, informative and helpful. He makes Newport sound like heaven on earth but wasn't charming enough to convince us to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wow! This park is so nice. It is steps from the Historic Bayfront so you can walk to many attractions (the Rogue Brewery is only 134 steps away). Our site had views of the bridge and the bay, just beautiful! Sites are paved and large. Internet is $5/day, but when you are in a setting this pretty, you won't want to use your computer. We liked it so much we extended our stay! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice location, nice park. Beautiful view of bridge over Newport Bay. Kind of cozy with neighbors. Although there are many dog waste bags left available by the county on poles throughout the park, there is a continual problem with dog owners leavings their dog's presents everywhere. This isn't the park's problem but we have stayed here a few times and this is a real issue to be addressed. Would rate this a 10 if not for all the dog waste people. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent location near Newport Aquarium and about 5 minute drive to the Newport waterfront shopping area. Some of the pull through sites have a view of the water, but, most do not. Very clean park. It is spacious, although primarily a concrete/Marina park. This is a perfect park for those fishing out of the marina, or wanting a central location while they visit area attractions. We stayed for two nights before we headed up to Cannon Beach. The gentleman that walks through the park and checks on guests is very nice and interacts well with campers. If we needed a stopping place for a night or two, we would stay again. We have no complaints, although this isn't a place to relax in the trees or enjoy the feeling of nature. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park has 3 camping areas: premium area with level paved sites with all the amenities and nicely landscaped. The annex is further from the bay and is more or less graveled but also with full hookups. We dry camped in the big lot in front of the office and the rate we payed reflects this price. Surprisingly quiet and you can position your rig to get a view of the harbor. Walking distance the the Rogue Ale brewery: a must visit. Park is at the south end of town and just a short drive from the historic areas. For the price: a real bargain. This was a big disappointment to me. I made reservations in the a.m. I had a CampClub membership which listed it. I stayed here years ago in a motorhome with my husband. It was a parking place, but very enjoyable, and I was looking forward to the stay I got here this time and was told that because of the heat in the valley, they were filling up fast. The woman who checked me in said that CampClub had only approved some of the park? "That's okay, though, because I have room for you in the old section." It was not the "old" section that we camped in 7 years ago, I think that "old" section was the new section with large motorhomes: not full. I finally found my spot across the street in a dirty area. No WiFi but could buy it for 5 dollars. The showers were fairly clean, but the "bathrooms" were the blue construction porta potties. I'm shocked at the other reviews as they are no where near my experience. It may have been because I have a small trailer. It's only two years old, but I got to stay where all the full-time residents are, next to someone in a very old trailer who hung wash. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Top of the line RV park. Careful when you put the address in your GPS. It is the mailing address and you will end up on the wrong side of the bridge at the Harbor Authority office. When we finally got here, we loved the lay out, the view of the Yaquina bridge. Rogue River brewery is within walking distance where they have a very unique restaurant within the brewery. Great beer and good food in a funky setting. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The Newport Aquarium is also within walking distance. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here a few years ago, and we still love this park. This is a rare 10 for me. Very friendly staff, and the interior roads are very easy to maneuver through. This is a really nice RV park. The spaces were asphalt with a "green" area next to the rig. Unfortunately, the green area was all weeds. The restrooms and laundry area were very clean and well kept, the marina was great for walking, and the camp host was very personable. We walked to the aquarium and nearby shopping area. We had dinner at Mo's Annex in old Newport and recommend it. Wi-Fi was available, but cost $4.99 per day. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We really like this campground situated in the Newport Marina. Nice walking path around the bay and the OSU facility. Walking distance to the Rogue Brewery and Restaurant. We have stayed in this park three times, this year we stayed a month. We will not be back. Nothing against the park except in August the fruit flies move in & they saturate your RV. Last year we stayed 2 weeks in August, we had to bomb our RV after we left to get rid of them. We were hoping this year they would be gone by September--Wrong! We again are going to have to bomb our coach when we leave to get rid of them. There is a cherry canning factory next door. They also are letting the park run down some. Grass is dead in most spots, weeks taking over, which is a shame as its in a really nice location. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As previously described, this is a nice park – with helpful camp host; large, clean (and very inexpensive) laundry room; and level sites – all asphalt (both back-in and pull-through). The park is convenient to the beaches, and was very crowded this time of year. The big difference this year was the weather; it was foggy most of the day (and night), with temperatures in the lower 60s. The park is still very much a large renovated parking lot, so it may not appeal to everyone. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an expensive park, at least by our standards. Then in addition to the high rates, they have Wi-Fi available for $5 per 24 hours, and charge to use the showers. For the first time ever, we almost got refused the Good Sam rate because we had a membership card and not a recreation card. They are obviously in a choice place because they are nearly full nearly all during the tourist season. The only spot that we could reserve for our travel trailer was one where if you backed in, your utilities were on the wrong side. They have a number of these sites made for pull in frontwards small motor homes. This park is very close to the aquarium and the Hatfield Science Center. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The campground was very clean and well maintained. Only one shower and toilet in the restroom but it never seemed busy. We were diving and fishing so the multiple fish cleaning stations around the marina were handy. The weather was either misty and cold or very windy so lounging around outside was uncomfortable but that's part of camping on the coast. My only real complaint was no free Wifi. If you want WiFi service you have to pay $5.00/24hrs The park did have a good selection of cable channels. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent parking lot-style park. The host is very helpful and gracious. We were camped by the office, where the bathrooms were spotless and had lots of hot water, and a free handicapped-accessible shower. The laundry is the cheapest I've seen at a campground so far at $1 per load, $1 for 45 minutes of drying (high efficiency washers). The Wi-Fi was fast. We walked across the bridge to Old Town; there's a stairway for pedestrian access. We also walked to Rogue Brewery and its distillery, to the Science Center and around the boats and docks. It's all quite convenient. And it's a really quiet campground, despite being close to 101. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice clean park. You are welcomed by the camp host Clay Moore (sounds like a WWII mine) who gives you the scoop on things to see and good places to eat on the entire coast. There are two lighthouses in Newport. The sites are black top, wide and level. The sites are large enough for a 45' plus a toad. The view is of the historic bridge, bay, and homes on the opposite hill in Newport. The utilities are placed beside the side of the site. There is no night time noise or traffic. The showers and laundry are immaculate. The Hatfield science museum is less than a quarter of a mile, the brew pub is in the same parking lot. We had an enjoyable time here and would certainly recommend it and will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a disappointment this was! It is mainly a paved parking lot for RVs who are fishermen. Office staff make it sound like it will be a wonderful and unique experience...it was unique!! This was way overpriced at $36.50 PLUS charged for showers! We have never had to pay for showers so used our own. Their sewer was 30 feet away from our drain as ours is on left rear and their sewer was up in front by drivers side door of our pick-up! Obviously, could not use until I was pulling out to leave and then I blocked others who wanted to go down the narrow drive. Their big claim is "walk to aqaruim and to one brew pub". We didn't, as was a long way. We won't be back! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The campground host greeted us upon our arrival and was very informative. This is a very dog friendly park. It is a very neat and very clean park. The laundry room was perfect and the staff was friendly. It rains daily here so be prepared. You will need water proof clothing. We saw the the sun for approximately 3 hours in the entire week we stayed. It is a little hard to find. Once you are on 101 follow the signs to the Aquarium, and then you will have RV park signs to follow. We did not stay in the annex parking but know it is very muddy. We don't recommend that spot. This is a great place to stay. The camp host met us shortly after we settled in and gave us a quick review of what to see and do in the local area. The campground is quiet and well laid out next to the Newport Marina. A nature trail is nearby and you can also walk along the marina and fishing pier. Bayfront Harbor is across the bay with restaurants and a working fishing harbor. This is another great place for a walk. There is lots to see and do in this area. Also, the Rogue Brewery is within walking distance. They have a restaurant and pub. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Asphalt, level, pull-thru or back-in sites, green plant area between sites but no picnic table. Wifi worked great, cable TV with 26 channels. Only one (free) shower in the campground located in the registration building. There are five (pay) showers at the Marina building right next door, you need to ask the office for a key-card to gain access to these and they cost 75 cents for 5-minutes. Marina store is close if you need supplies. Oregon Aquarium and Hatfield Marine Center are within walking distance. Two lighthouses are worth seeing; across the Bay at Anchor Harbor you can get close to sealions and do your shoping. We stayed for 3 nights and had a good time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Perfect for RVers looking for safe, clean, level, no-hassle pull-through sites in South Newport Bay area: 50amps, cable TV, cell-phone and broadband reception. Sparkling new bathrooms, showers, laundry area separate from the heavier used marina facilities. Too closely packed for open fires, tables, but plenty of bbq's and crab boiling pots going: smelled heavenly! This park is very large with lots of concrete pads with gravel in between sites. The staff was very helpful in directing us to points of interest in Newport. Many sport fishermen were there and from the looks of things, they were reeling in the fish. Many great restaurants near by with the best sea food that we have had on our trip. Like most of the other reviewers, I found this to be a very good park. Others have commented on the facilities. Although I do not expect to have a pool on the Oregon coast, some sort of recreational facilities would have been nice - playground, v-ball net, horseshoes. Cable is only 25 channels and the WIFI, as mentioned, was not reliable. In nice weather and for those who can, walking across the bridge to town (about half an hour) is great. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has three different areas. There is the new park, the old park which they call the RV Annex, and a paved parking lot for dry camping. This review is for the new park. Streets and sites are paved, level and big rig friendly. It is like a big parking lot. The landscaping is not being maintained and the weeds are taking over. Not a bad park for the money, but there is only one toilet and 1 shower in the rest room, yet there where 7 washers and dryers. When I asked about the wireless the check in gal said it has been a problem and we don't talk about it. I tried it and it did work. If you have a rear holding tank, bring a lot of sewer hose. This is one of those Parks that is well run and has a lot to offer. Immaculate rest rooms and 2 great laundries, manicured RV sites - very close to the waterfront. Mostly pull thrus, paved roads and pads, landscaping between sites with wood chips around the bushes etc. We are here now and simply enjoying the area and the Park. It is situated so close to so many tourist activities, you can be busy every minute. There is a shuttle that comes to the Park that takes you to Newport. Being at the Marina has a lot of charm. There are two rv parks here - one is the older park, called the Annex. The Park we are staying in is the new Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a relatively new park, located in the marina run by the Port of Newport on the south side of Yaquina Bay. It is all asphalt, with some landscaping and virtually no shade trees between sites. There are a large number of pull-throughs and back-in sites – not overly generous in size, but certainly adequate. With the customary winds off the Pacific Ocean, the climate is temperate and shade trees are usually not necessary. The showers and laundry room are very clean, and up-to-date. WiFi is available (although it had problems when we were here), and the cable TV connection is great. The Rogue Nation brewery, with pub, and distillery, with bar, are within walking distance and worth a visit. The Yaquina Head lighthouse is just north of Newport, and worth a visit. All in all, this is an absolutely beautiful area with much to do while here. We camped 3 nights with no pets. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A great location, easy in and out, great people in the office. We were able to get a spot with short notice. Decided to stay an extra four days as a week gives you one day free. (fee entered is for a week. Can't find receipt so think this is what it averaged for staying seven days). Park has been redone by the city and it is great. Nice view of the bridge and bay. Most lots have new bark, but was sad to see the weeds not taken care of as it is such a nice park and just that little extra maintenance would be rated #10. Only one shower, but exceptionally clean. Try to get site with water view. If you do not have a toad, I would not suggest you drive into waterfront Newport (a bit too far to walk). The road is too steep and narrow for the average MH driver with no parking for a large rig in town. The RV park itself is a large, flat, asphalt covered lot with no shade trees, and unfortunately no picnic tables either. The $33 charge was a bit steep for what you got. We stayed in the old rv park annex as they are in the process of finishing up a brand new section close to the water. This is slated to open the end of May and will have full h/ups, wi-fi, satellite cable and nice large paved sites with landscaping. There will also be a dry-camp overflow area. It is right next to the Oregon Aquarium and the Rogue Brewery and an easy trip over the bridge to Newport. I gave it the rating I did because the place will be awesome after they finish and then rehab the annex part also. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If you like crabbing and/or fishing, this is the place to go. Newport is fairly close. Very run down, gravel road in park. Staff helpful. Fire rings available in sites. Cell reception/WiFi excellent. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rustic describes the park if you are site 1-12; very poor if you are in the other sites. They are more like a storage lot. Our site had 50-amp FHU but some have 30-amp in this area. We faced the river 20' away. Fire ring, cable at site. Road is approx 50' behind the rig. Almost no traffic on the road that follows the river bank 4 miles from town. Office and other guests extremely friendly. Nightly rate over priced for the facility and distance to town. Sites are rather close. Would return if in the area. If you have a boat and want to fish they are equipped for your visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Another Oregon state park winner. Clean, well maintained, great location, and fairly priced. The campground is large with a playground, horseshoe pits and trails through the sand dunes to get to the wide, sandy beach. It is within the Newport city limits so antenna TV channels available as well as AT&T cell and Internet connections. Most sites are not screened from neighbors, but those on the outside have more privacy. Hot showers and the dump station is included in the camp fee. One negative is that it is located by the airport so there is some plane noise, but less than the sea lions barking in the harbor. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a really excellent park, we really enjoyed all the paved bike paths to the beach and harbor area. sites are very well laid out with allot of room between and allot of trees. We really enjoyed having all the extra room between site. All roads are paved and plenty wide to get through with a big rig. We're here in a 40' 5th wheel and 1 ton truck. had no problems getting through or backing into spot. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical Ore SP, which is to say "Excellent". Road in wa plenty wide, but the speed bumps are brutal! Out site was correctly angled for EZ back-in, but I saw some that weren't. Bath/shower rooms very nice, tho shower lacked hooks. Place was packed, even mid-week, but there were plenty of mosquitoes for all present. Lots of bikes on the roads. Nice trails to beach. Lots of pine trees, but still a very open feel to the place. EZ access to/from US 101 & only a short drive to Newport which has everything you could want. Try Flashback's for 50's diner ambiance & great food. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground. They recently had a storm which resulted in some tree damage; however, it appears as though a fair amount of work has already gone into clearing the affected sites. You are about 1 mile from Newport and there are a lot of things to see in the City. Just a short walk to the ocean. We stayed here in a motor home and will stay here again. We stayed 3 nights and loved it. The sites are paved, level enough and wide enough for slideouts and awnings. However, plenty of sites are not suitable for big rigs as the angle to backup into the site is not favorable and/or the trees and branches are too close. We couldn't park our 35' 5th-wheel in the preferred spot with plenty of sun (winter time!), had to chose a more treed one. Not too bad, but way less sunshine. The hookups are fine and worked well. Central dump station at entrance. My Virgin mobile worked pretty fast too. The restrooms are all tiled and very clean. However, the separating wall between the "dressing room" and the actual shower is not wide enough and after the shower the whole floor area and the wall is wet. The beach is just a short walk and there are plenty of walking trails. No noise from Hwy 101 but the odd airplane flying over as the airport is not too far. We will definitely be back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Yurts are available here. The speed bumps are brutal. Class A's will want to take them slow. The large road is suitable for big rigs. The sites will be tight lengthwise with a tow vehicle, but fine without one. The campground is paved, including the sites. It is a large campground. There are a few nice trails that leave from the campground, including access to the beach. The trees are more manicured here than other Oregon Coast State Parks, which means you will have less needles and branches falling on your rig, but less privacy that others. The campground has an open feel to it and gets and reasonable amount of sun (if the sun is out that is). The showers were okay, but could use a really thorough clean. It was quiet when we were there, but it was also fairly empty and we camped at the back of the campground. We didn't have to wait in line for the dump station, but we did notice that others did have to wait in line (morning). Great value and good location. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful, quiet state park within walking distance of the beach and several walking trails throughout area. Very nice restrooms and showers. Water and electric - no sewer but a dump station at the entrance. Seemed to nearly fill up so I suggest reservations($8 fee). Some sites not suitable for big rigs so ask about the right site for you. Received some over the air TV channels. If you like geocaching, there are several nearby caches. I would stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Some very cramped sites and I witnessed some bigger rigs having a lot of difficulty getting into their sites with the tree branches hanging low. Beach access was good and the park seemed well maintained, otherwise. Verizon cellular service seemed available throughout the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at South Beach because Beverly Beach was booked up. It's an OK campground but doesn't really compare to the other beach park. This year they failed to spray the marsh area between the campground and the beach: the mosquitoes were terrible. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park, but the access roads are narrow and the trees haven't been trimmed in a long time, and are much too close to the roads. I scratched the side of my rig badly trying to get in/out of my site. Great access to the beach on paved hiking/biking trails. Close proximity to many local attractions, especially downtown historical Newport. Very busy CG, even in mid-Sep. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Oregon state parks are a safe, sure bet. It does seem that budget cuts have affected the staffing. Only one lane was open for check in at the prime check in night so Rigs were backed up. We used the express check in lane where we dropped a paper copy of our reservation in the box and came and got our window pass later. Good space in between spots, with long, level and paved pads. Very quiet right at quiet time. You can ride your bikes from the campground to the Aquarium and nearby Rogue brewery. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great park with minimum hookups. Lots of walking and play areas and trails to the beach and river. Good wind protection. However water drainage in rainstorms is non-existant. Most sites and roads collect water runoff until it soaks into the ground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are very hard to back into. Trees and shrubbery need to be trimmed. Trees cause you limited space to park and extend slide-outs and awnings. We stayed while it was raining and our site flooded about 2-3 inches deep. Oregon State Parks usually are top notch, but this one needs help. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A wonderful campground, and wonderful location for touring the Oregon coast. Our site was large enough for our big rig, though somewhat tricky to back into (a reverse back-in). Once we got in, it was easy to level the coach and set up. The campground was very busy with children and families and our kids enjoyed the ranger programs, playground, and beach, which was a 1/4 mile walk from our site. We would definitely stay again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

A large very busy Oregon State Park. No full hook-ups, but water and electricity sites available. Oregon State Parks have moved all their refuse containers to a central location. A short walk to the beach. As often happens the fog was in and visibility was very restricted. Not a lot of screening between sites. Weather was nice and cool after the heat in the interior. The pads were paved and very close to level. What staff we contacted were very nice. The bugs were a bit bad when you walked down towards the beach. Would stay here again. Found a nice seafood restaurant in Newport called Life Oceans. Do not take a large RV into old town Newport! $6.00 reservation fee for online reservations. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We loved South Beach State Park! Nice sites, but make sure you do your homework and reserve ahead of time. The sites are all back-in and some of our neighbors with really large rigs had difficulty getting into theirs. Ours was 50 feet long with plenty of space for our three fold out tent beds. You are within walking distance to the beach, about one-half mile one way through beautiful dunes. Very close to Newport and the Aquarium, as well as an easy drive up to Lincoln City and the Outlet Mall! Only complaint would be the showers. Clean, but some in our loop had scalding hot water while the one right next to it had freezing cold. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a big state park. We were in the G loop and the sites are quite long. We did have a little trouble maneuvering our big rig into the site since the roads are narrow and access to sites are close together. It was a little noisy with all the kids, but that is to be expected during the summer. It was quite a walk to the beach from our site, so we just drove to the parking lot near the beach access. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A beautiful park. We had a site on the outside ring. The site wide enough, had trees, and easy to get in and out of. It was convenient to the restrooms. A quiet park. This is an older park. The sites are a bit close together. The restrooms were old style. Nice , free showers. The beach is about a 1/4 mile walk from the A loop. We noted that because there are not sewer hookups in sites, the line at the dump station was usually long at check out time. Nice staff. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice state park campground. We did not have reservations so we were lucky to get in for two nights. Highly recommend reservations in the summer. Campsite was tucked into the trees, very cool and relaxing atmosphere. Paved trails to the beach (1/4 mile) and several paved bike trails in addition to the paved roads in the campground. This is a family campground so you need to expect young kids playing, running and biking, but they were never roudy or out of control. Close to Newport. Camp hosts and volunteers were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

All the Oregon State parks we have seen are great! South beach is certainly right up there. Close to the beach, tons of hiking and biking trails, Newport is a great town. The rangers are friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The only trash was quite far and only at the entrance to the park. The mosquitoes on the trail to the beach were bad. The sewer dump area was very busy and not real convenient. TV antenna reception was very poor. The sites were level and clean. There was a lot of grassy space for the kids to play. There was a 1.5 mile walking trail to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. I would camp there again but more prepared for the trash, sewer, and TV issues. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you like camping on sand and dead grass this is for you. The pictures on the internet definitely were taken in a wet year. Close to the beach. Campsites are close together with little privacy. A million kids riding on all the narrow paved roads. I guess this would be a good campground if you had small kids since they would have plenty of new friends.The main roads are too narrow for 2 rv's to pass little lone the walking and bike traffic. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice place to stay. Nearly every site has some shade, though some have more than others. The sites are quite level and easy to get into. The hookups were also in good shape. Campsites are dirt except where you park your rig. Dump station and garbage is near the park ranger entrance. Access to the beach was an easy .5 mile walk. Some mosquitos in the camp but even more in the bushes as you walk to the beach. Access to the aquarium and other coastal attractions is great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice campground. Would recommend that you make reservations though, even though it's very large, it fills up. The road throughout is paved, and the sites are easy to get in and out. Nice wide road, and the sites have bushes/trees/foliage between so you have a little privacy (in most sites). The only thing we thought was odd was that there were no garbage receptacles, and noticed there is a large garbage area as you leave the park. Maybe they have problems with critters rummaging through the garbage so they had to put it all in one area. The dump station is very easy access. The only negative thing was that it was very dry when we were there (in July), and the area around the units were not grass or gravel, but dirt. If a wind gust came up it would whip dirt all around. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is another oner one of the Oregon Coast, Oregon State Parks. It is located within walking distance of the beach, is 3 miles South of Newport, has childrens activities (summer season), has Kayak rental/tours, has a small gift shop, 21 yurts to rent ( with power/lights, water outside, sleeps 5, has a heater ) Group areas available We camped here in a Motorhome.
