We stayed here for five days beginning July 26, 2010 so rate reflects Passport America discount. Sites are all gravel/grass and fairly level but some are not "easy in / easy out" for motorhomes. There are numerous gravel speed bumps throughout the park that are built dangerously high for low riding RVs. Had no problems with stable odor but didn't appreciate the fact that private owners are allowed to ride their horses through campground, (unsanitary). On the other hand the store was well stocked, and the gals at the front desk were extremely helpful. Very close to the battlefield and other attractions. We would come back but would request a more level site and also question riding horses in the campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have mixed emotions about this park. It's definitely close to town, however, it would be quite a hike if the weather is hot like it was when we were here. Staff is friendly, however, they didn't listen very well when we made reservations and we had to move 3 times before getting a site that would allow our satellite to work or wasn't 30 amp or near the horses. Park is old with quite a few long-term residents but still relatively neat and clean. They honor PA during the week but not on weekends and the above rate reflects PA. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

People are friendly and helpful. The campground is a close to everything. If you're a hiker you won't need a car. The sites are close together. The pool needs to be updated. Expect flies, because of the stables, but the place is clean. Laundry room open 24/7. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Best location around, you are close to everything. The campground is run down and the office staff surly, so this put a damper on my vacation on arrival. The horse tour offered was too expensive for what you get, the battlefield locations on horseback have nothing to do with the overall civil war oration by the guide, very disappointing. If in Gettysburg I would stay here again for the location, just don't expect too much. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate shown was with 50% Campclub USA discount, I would not have wanted to pay 72$! It looks like we were overcharged and I am writing to them, website says rate is 48$ for full hookup, so we should only have paid 24$. We had a pull-thru site which was level enough. The campground is quite large and the horses are well out of the way if you do not like them! The location is great for visiting Gettysburg and the battlefield. Pool looked nice but did not use. Restrooms old but clean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate I gave was with discounts. This is a unique park in that there are stables on the grounds and you can camp with your horses as many people did over the weekend. It is also almost in Gettysburg and you can take a trail ride from the park through the battlefield. That said, we found the desk staff to be uncaring. The sites are very unlevel and don't really have more than a little bit of a gravel pad. We had made reservations more than a month in advance and yet received the two worst sites in the park. To level the motorhome we had to have the front wheels off the ground. We went to the office to ask about changing sites since there were plenty of empty sites and we were told that they would be full later on in the week, so they wre leaving them empty! We didn't accept that answer and we were moved. We talked to other people who accepted that answer and workers brought them boards to drive up on to level so their wheels wouldn't be off the ground. I'm glad I had DirecTV because our friends got one channel on the TV. The location was convenient, but there are nicer parks in the area if you don't have horses. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate shown Passport America discount. Sites are gravel back-in and not level. Table provided needed refinishing. Check-in was smooth and the office staff were friendly and informative. Our paid campsite fee allowed us free admission into the Gettysburg diorama located at the Gettysburg History Center. No cable TV and most channels off the air were weak signals with intermittent service. WiFi connection was strong, but Skype phone signal broke up, probably due to bandwidth problems from the internet service provider. There are riding stables at this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The quoted rate reflects a CCUSA 50% discount. We were provided a discount for a nearby buffet style restaurant and a complimentary visit to a battleground diorama. The diorama was on-site at the campground at one time, but has been relocated in town. We liked being in such close proximity to the battlefield since that was the purpose of our visit. The gravel site was a bit tricky for leveling at first, but we shifted our rig a bit and found a level spot that required no blocks. All the hookups worked fine and we found the facilities to be in good order. We would stay at this campground again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Our site was next to a tiny pond with catch and release fishing. It was just lovely, especially next to a fire at night. The battlefield horses are stabled here, so you can tour on horseback if you wish. We loved just watching the stabled horses. Neat campground, very friendly staff. Close to the new Visitor center. No complaints at all. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We loved this park. It is a Passport America and Camp Club USA park, so we paid only $23 per night rather than the regular rate of $46. We were put in the back of the park because we are a big rig. We had a pull through site with a gravel pad. This section has newer electrical and excellent water pressure. The staff was extremely helpful. The only downside was that walking in the park was a little tricky. Bordering the gravel pads are rocks about the size of plums. Also, there are horse prints in the dirt that makes it a little difficult to walk around the rig without turning an ankle. If you take it slow it's no problem. Also, the site sits a little high, so the first step into the rig is a big step unless you carry another step with you. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We came in just after Labor Day. Full rate is $46, but weekdays with Passport America it is $23 and a very solid value for this area. Park rates more of a 7, but the 8 is for value. Just check the other park rates. Our water and electric was good. We use a PT50C to monitor incoming power and had no problems. Great location to base your sightseeing. We would come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice little campground to base your explorations of Gettysburg from. It is only a mile to the visitor center and less than that to some points of the battlefield. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The site was ready when we arrived. It was a pretty quiet atmosphere to spend the evening after touring the battlefield. The sites are not huge but fair. We lucked out by not having a neighbor on our camping side the whole time which made it seem really big. The little fishing lake was entertaining for the kids and the game room had plenty of machines though they were very dated. I recognized a couple from my high school years in the early 80's. But the kids liked them anyway. Do not take 30 from the west into Gettysburg if you don't like 7% grades, and lot's of 'em. I came that way due to the GPS directions and we were fine with our jake brake on our diesel but I'd worry without it. We would stay here again with no problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great campground to tour the battlefield. Close to everything of interest. Our site was a nice, roomy pull-thru but light post directly behind us was very bright during the night! Quite crowded during our stay since it was the anniversary of the battle but everyone was nice and helpful. Stayed for 2 nights but would have liked to stay longer. Unfortunately they were completely booked so we could not extend our stay. Did not use facilities except for the laundry. The washer I used did not spin out and I had to hand wring all my clothes, bummer! Otherwise fine. Riding stables on premises a plus for those of us who love horses (we don't mind the smell) and free access to the diorama definitely a plus! Rate shown reflects Camp Club Discount. We would definitely stay here again when we're in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here over the July 4th weekend, with our primary focus being on touring the battlefields. This campground is so close to the attractions that one could easily walk or bike to them. The campground itself is an older one and could use some updating, but overall was very spacious for a private facility, and there were plenty of activities. We stayed in the back of the campground, near the primitive sites, and our boys had plenty of room to play and ride bikes. The pros of this place include swimming pool, relatively flat sites, close proximity to town, and cleanliness. The cons include gravel roads and older bathhouses. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our site had water and electric, but the owners had a device on their tractor that would pump your water lines from the camper, which was very convenient. When we return to Gettysburg, we will stay here without hesitation. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Rate reflects 2 nights at Passport America rate and 2 nights of weekend without PPA. This is an older park. I agree with previous poster; the park could use some updating. They also have a large tent area, and it appears there are many long term residents. Our site was fine. It was in an open area, fairly level, where our satellite worked great. The real positive for this park is it's right near the Gettysburg Battlefield and the new Visitors center and close to the town of Gettysburg. The Diorama they have at the park and offer campers for free is a treat. I wouldn't hesitate to return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The past reviewers have summed this up pretty good, but here is an update. The sites are close, but I have had much, much closer. At least I was able to put my awnings out and still had a little room left over. This is a great place to jump off to other adventures in the Gettysburg area. If you have come here to find a "destination," campground, then this is the wrong place. It is a campground to stay and venture out. You cannot go wrong with all that there is to seen in this area. The campground is one half mile from the visitor's center of the Gettysburg National Park. It is a must see, and take the self guided auto tour, as it give you your own time to spend at each of the many monuments. The Diorama at the campground is free to campers. It is a must see before you tour the area. We purchased the movie, "Gettysburg," and were glad we had taken in the Diorama before viewing the 4 hour movie. Yes, the sites are not level and it would be not much of a problem to have someone with knowledge of heavy equipment to make them level. They could also use some more crushed rock in some areas. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I had the same question about satellite asked of me for motor home placement. Very thoughtful of them. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Gettysburg, Artillery Ridge Campground – I think it is expensive but it has tons of activities and it was Memorial Weekend. Artillery Ridge Campground located less than half a mile from the battlefield is quite different than the type of campgrounds we usually camp at. They have tons of sites and everyone is on top of everyone else. It was Memorial Weekend and we had booked four days. There are some good points about the park – horseback rides onto the battlefield, swimming pool, playgrounds, hookups, laundry, Wi-Fi hotspot, covered horse stalls to bring your own horse, cabins. Very friendly at check in. Bathrooms were ok! We are used to dry camping in the woods and having campsites with lots of room and privacy so this was quite a change from what we have been camping at, but we knew before we came it was going to be crowded. I will say even with the activities they had that weekend and all the people it was not noisy at night, and our neighbors were very considerate and polite. We camped here to ride our bikes to the battlefield and visitor center which we did. Also stopped at Boyds Bear which is in the Gettysburg area – what an amazing store. We stayed an extra day before heading back home and what a difference this campground is after many campers went home on Memorial Day. It was not bumper to bumper and was quite enjoyable! We would go back! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Price reflects Passport American discount. Staff is friendly and helpful; they asked when I was reserving if I had a satellite so they could put us in a site with good sat reception. Park is more rustic and older, but well kept. Good electric and water. No cable. Wi-fi is strong, but very slow at times. Very convenient to historic sites. Cons: sites are not very level, gravel, somewhat mushy and will test your leveling skills a bit. If you don't like the smell of horses, this may not be the place for you. You will smell them if the wind goes in the right direction. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Convenient park with OK sites. The site we had was not very level but we managed. We didn't have sewer but we did have 50 amp and water. The Wi-Fi signal was good and we were able to use the satellite. We used Passport America but I don't think I would stay here for full price. A no service site is $32, a bit steep if you ask me. If you have a horse this is a good place to stay as they have facilities for your horse and RV. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the Horse area. Site was a little small, gravel, had to level a little from side to side. Power and water are at the back of the site, sewer is in the middle but almost buried. This is an older park but a decent place to stay. Some of the sites are small in other areas of the camp. This is a great place for people who have horses. We stayed here a week using Camp Club USA. Roadway in is paved, but the rest are gravel. Sites were gravel and a little unlevel, needed 2.5 inches on street side to level out, most sites have shade trees. Seasonal sites are on the outside perimeter of the campground. Power and water were fine, utilities were at the center of the site, so access was very close. Bathrooms were dated and well used, but clean. Campground is right across the street from the Battlefield, but you have to go down the road to get into the Battlefield. This campground has horses for you to take into the battlefield for a horseback tour, we don't ride. Would go back again, and would recommend this campground to anyone. We stayed here 8 nights and we chose to camp here because and it is the closest to the battlefield. Staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions and accepted both my Good Sam and Camper USA discount cards (my nightly rate includes the extra charge for the two other adults that were with us). There was a nightly movie but we did not attend and an ice cream social on the Saturday we arrived. We did not use the pool, but it appeared well maintained. The bath houses could be updated but were clean. The laundry room had washer and dryers on the new side, no change machine in the laundry area though, if you will need change, must go to camp store. Wi-Fi was great and Free and they were installing more antennas for those sites that were having problems getting a good connection. It was a quiet and relaxing campground with a catch and release pond. The camp store was basic, but had the connector that we needed for our sewer hoses and much lower cost than my camping supply store at home... I would recommend seeing the Diorama (free as a camper) before touring the battlefield if you know little about the battle of Gettysburg. There is a great little fruit and vegetable stand almost with in walking distance. We will stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were excited to camp here because it had the stables on the property and it is the closest to the battlefields. My children aged 6, 4 & 2 LOVED the playground and riding bikes. There was a nightly movie but we did not attend. It was a bit cooler (thankfully) the 3 days we camped here so we did not use the pool. It looked well cared for and newer than many other amenities. The bath houses could be updated but must be kept cleaner. Wi-Fi was great but our site(78) was close to the camp store. It was a very quiet campground. Very basic. The only real downer for us was when we made our reservation, we wanted two sites (we camped with another family) next to each other. We were told the sites we were assigned would allow us to open up to each other. Due to the location of hookups (2 sites shared a common pole/hookup area) we could only do that if we were OK with our kids tripping over wires and hoses (we were not). The ladies in the store were terrific in letting us move anywhere else in the camp. We opted not to, since we were across the road from the bath house & playground. We will stay again- this Fall. The staff was very friendly and this is a great campground if you have a horse with you. But our site was not shaded at all and had a nice view of the laundry/bathhouse which was way to bright at night. The game room smelled moldy. The only activity for the weekend was Ghost Stories at 8pm on Saturday. Many of the seasonal sites are really rusty and cluttered with trashy yard clutter. Felt more like an old trailer park than a campground. It is very convenient to Gettysburg downtown, the battlefields, and the new visitors center. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here 8 nights. Staff very friendly and helpful with any questions. We stayed in the horse corral area it was very quite. This is the National Horse riding stable for the National Park. Some sites were shaded ours was not. Gravel roads. Our site was level and grassy. Several seasonal sites on location but blend in with the rest of the campground. Washers and dryers are newer and worked well. Bathrooms and showers were clean but could use updating. Activities several nights by camp staff for kids as well as a movie most nights. Play ground for kids 12 years and under. Swimming pool. They accept several camping discount programs. Very near, less than 1 mile, from new park visitor center. Used as location to visit other area attractions as well. Would recommend seeing the Diorama as it is very informative on the battle of Gettysburg. This is a good campground, great as a base for exploring Gettysburg Battlefield. A lot of pull through sites, and our pull through site had brand new hookups. Sites are tight. Access to campground and site is great, even with bigger rigs. Bathrooms / showers were clean, roomy, and free (no charge for shower). Basketball court looked to be brand new, gameroom was good, pool was clean. The campground might be considered a little rustic, but the overall experience more than makes up for it. A very quiet campground!! In talking to other campers who had been there before, they said that is normal. We thought it was neat to be able to bike ride around the stables and corrals, watching all the horses and riders. The "trail ride" that the campground offers into the battlefield is fun -- note that on the one hour ride, the guide does not tell about the history of the battlefield, on the two hour ride the guide give historical background. The Battlefield diorama at the campground is very much worth checking out, and it is free for campers. We watched the diorama show just before touring the battlefield, that worked out well for us. Staff at camp office were Great! Very helpful, know all about the battlefield and what to see (and how to get to everything). Camp store is not huge but has pretty much everything you might need for camping, plus snacks and gifts. Other campers and seasonals were also great. Everyone we met was outgoing and cheerful. We most certainly would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If you like history this is a great location. You are actually on/near the battle field. The park is diverse with areas for tents, horses, horse paddocks, cabins, and seasonal guests. We had an unseasonably hot stay, and found our shadeless location extremely warm in the late afternoons, but by 9 pm we could actually turn the AC off and open the windows. This park is very near the new and exciting visitors center which was so interesting (plus lots of air conditioning) we forgot the heat of the day. Our gravel site was very level with easy hook ups, but we found the ground too hard to anchor our awning which is vital during the heat of the day. The bathroom was very close, but extremely warm as the day went by. Wonderful laundry room with new equipment. On the backside of the bathrooms is a sink with running water for primitive camping to use. Large park with plenty of walking for people and pets. There is a catch and release pond with a small flock of ducks. There is a horseshoe and volleyball court with good playground for the kids. We learned to tour the battle fields by mornings and spend time in the visitors center in the heat of the day. If traveling with pets, please check the weather as the coolest we got the RV was mid 80's during the day. We rented horses from the park, as nearby there are horse trail on the battlefield. This is a family campground with a section that caters to horses and has rides. It is very close to the new Park Service visitor center. Entrance road is paved but interior roads are fair/poor gravel. Our site was in a section that recently had the utilities upgraded. It looks like a small number of sites will have leveling issues although ours was level. The site parking areas are graveled, sites are grass but have bare spots that will be muddy in the rain. Our site was open enough to get satellite TV. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was fast but suffered many annoying dropouts. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I have been to a lot of parks over the years and this one did not impress me at all. The park was more like a horse ranch with RV sites. The smell of the horses was terrible and the poop was all over the road. I found that the bathrooms were old and not clean with mildew in the shower stalls. Some of the sites were level but when it rained they were muddy. The help was very friendly and helpful. We stayed two nights and left. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a large campground with several different camping areas. Because we did not have a reservation and large pull-through sites were taken, we were in the horse camp which has horse facilities. Area was very quiet and horses were no problem. They offer horse tours into the Gettysburg Battlefield. They have a Gettysburg Battlefield Diorama which is free for campers. Sites are not very level and interior roads are in poor condition. Only 1 mile to Gettysburg Battlefield Visitors Center. Had full hookups with 50 amp with Passport America rate of $21 (Sun - Thurs). If you like horses then this is the place for you. Horse back tours of the Gettysburg battle field are available and your own stall if you wish. We were there during the re-enactment so it may have been more crowed than normal. We were there to see Gettysburg and not the park so our site and the roads in were the most important to us. Our site was down by the horse stables but that was not unacceptable to us since we are from that kind of country anyway. However the site was new and very unlevel. The interior roads are very rough. This is the closest campground to the Gettysburg Battlefield Visitor Center. We stayed for three extra days due to repairs being needed on our MH and towed vehicle. They were very accommodating when we asked to extend our stay. Campground includes a riding stable which takes people through the battlefield on horseback. Campground was not very full. Entrance needed to be graded as it had some large potholes. They had a n ice cream social one night, a DJ the next night with dancing. If you are not too tired after touring the battlefield, you can join in. Could not get a site with satellite access so had to go with antenna. Reception not all that great. All in all, it was a good place. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here through Passport America for which we got only 1 night half-price because it was not good on Friday or Saturday. This camp has an area where you can bring in your own horse to ride around the battlefield. We were parked in this area because of our need for access to satellite and found it to be interesting and a lot of fun to watch. No problem with horse plops in the camping area. This camp has a wonderful diorama of the battle which is free to registered campers. The physical grounds are rustic with a ranch-style feel. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a Passport America Park and our price reflects the Passport discount. We stayed here for four days and found it to be a decent campground. The horses do not roam the campground, so 90% of the sites are not bothered by horse poop. Most of the sites are pretty well shaded with large trees, but there is a lot (6 pull-thru sites) that has no trees where we were able to get satellite reception. It rained almost every day, so there were many pools of standing water on our site. The office has a good selection of supplies, as well as gifts. Overall, we were comfortable here and will probably return in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sorry a year late! I've stayed here twice. CG is the closest to the battlefield and as the name implies, Union cannons actually were stationed here. The Gettysburg Battlefield Diorama (on the CG site) was suprisingly great and well done. Sites and roads were gravel but well maintained when we were there. As far as Horse poop mentioned by the above reviewer, YES! It's everywhere but like the other reviewer said, it is a National Riding Stable and caters to those with horses. Battlefield Horse Tours also leave from here. Kind of like complaining of sand when you camp at the beach. Reminds you to do your homework before pulling into a CG. I didn't mind the horses or the poop for that matter and I'm not a horse person. It's just a great CG for those who want to be close to the battlefield. It's not a resort like other CG's in the Gettysburg area but does it job nicely. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This place is very poor at best. The sites were bad, roads were bad, and looks like a horse farm that RV's park close to. Our site had horse poop all round our motorhome, nice to look at. No sewer hookup was not a problem, we left park next day. The place is very run down. We camped here in a camper.

The good: Easy on and off the highway and convenient to the attractions. The bathrooms are private and nicer than most we have seen as well as clean. 50 amp full hook-up is common. Cable is provided and there are many pull throughs that can accommodate a big rig. Wi-Fi available but not included in the price. Gravel sites and roads that are wide so turns are no problem. The Bad: Too expensive, the price here represents a weekly rate which is cheaper than by the night. The premium pull-through sites were long but narrow. Not enough room to set up chairs outside without a steep drop-off. Our site was terribly un-level in all directions. Some of the other sites looked more level than ours was. The sites have an un-kept look. Weeds everywhere and appears no one mows or weed-eats. It looks like they spend their money on the pools, etc. instead of spending any time maintaining the actual camp-sites. The priority at this park is having things for kids like the water slide, etc. The roads are really dusty and there is a lot of golf-cart and car traffic. This covers your rig with dust. We heard golf-carts driving around well after midnight. You can hear the noise from highway 15, 24 hours per day. So, if you want a level site and any form of peace and quiet, don't stay here. In conclusion, we drove to all of the other RV parks in Gettysburg and this is the nicest and most accessible park in the area. However, we will definitely not stay here or at any park in town again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is very LARGE. It was over a mile from the office to our site. Lots of highway noise from the 15. Store, arcade and pool hours are rather short. It seems rather silly to pay $10 for a pool with one water slide and short hours. The camp store was expensive (wood was $7.00 for 7 pieces). The staff could not recommend a location for two RV groups camping together. The site was mostly rocks with no grass. The campground was close to Gettysburg but had minimal activities at the campground. Some of the sites were uneven (sewer line went slightly uphill). We were surprised this campground had the highest rating from Woodall's. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here during the July 4th holiday weekend. My views on this campground are mixed. The pros to this campground include close proximity to the battlefields, nice swimming pools, plenty of space between sites, and a well-stocked camp store. The cons included gravel roads and sites, smelly bath house (I actually gagged a few times), poison ivy throughout the campground, and high fees for extras. Although we camped with four children, we never used the water slide because I thought it wasn't worth the $10 per person per day charge. We used the "free" pool and it was fine. The bath house near our campsite was horrible: it smelled terribly and the water pressure coming out the shower was so slow that it took a very long time to rinse my hair. We will not return here, it's just not worth it. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is a large campground. We stayed in site 55. It was a very nice wooded site over by the highway. Some highway noise but we did not mind it. Golf cart rental is $60 a day on the weekend, which you'll need one if you stay over by the office and plan on enjoying the waterpark area (quite a hike). Staff was very friendly. We would have granted this park a 10, if this campground had free WiFi and cheaper Golf Cart rentals as well as earlier hours for the swimming pools. Decent sites, but very noisy due to the fact that a major highway runs parallel to the entire campground. The noise of tractor trailers, etc. can be very irritating especially during what should be quiet times at night. Also, there is a general lack of security, anyone can drive around the entire campground without being required to check at the registration office, which closes before 8pm. The price of firewood is too much, $7.00 for a small bundle. Many camp-sites have a strong odor of septic and there are about a dozen large holding tanks for septic waste but even with that we saw several areas where the ground was wet and very smelly, despite the fact it was hot and dry. I would recommend choosing a site far away from the highway although the noise will still be noticeable. The overall value for a campsite is average for the area but there are extra charges for amenities such as mini-golf, not recommended at all and for the water slide. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Have your wallet ready when you stay here; the site fee only covers the site. We arrived 2 hours before the check in time and we had to pay an extra $25 to check in even though our site was available and the park was far from full. When we called for the reservation we were not told the check in time or that there was a charge to check in early. The sites in the front of the park are off of paved roads but the pull through sites where our site was was down an unpaved gravel road. This was not easy to maneuver with our motorhome with a tow vehicle. At each dumpster site they had two dumpsters, one was locked so the overflow from the open one was left on the ground. This campground has alot to offer: however you will pay for it. I was told when I made reservations over the phone, if I did not care for our site we could change it when we arrived. The first site was out in the open, close to the highway noise and in the center. When I requested to change I was told there was a $10 fee: not what I was told on the phone. When I questioned this, the front desk person told me sorry it is a $10 fee!! Strike one! The resort has a great pool with a slide in the back: $10 a person to use the slide. What?? Unfortunately we found this out when we where ready to go down it. We had to go to the front and purchase it. I was informed this was non-refundable. No kidding?! Internet access was $6 a day. We where here all of 20 minutes and had already dropped $25 dollars besides the cost of the site. Over all I was disappointed as the campground boasts of their status as being one of the premier campgrounds in PA. I wouldn't say it was top notch. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our sixth visit in 5 years. This used to be one of my top three campgrounds but since it changed hands to a corporate entity a couple years ago, that may no longer be the case. We have stayed here for 5 years now and asked for a shady site. We were told on the phone our site was one of only two left and it was one of the "premium" sites ($51 per night). The site was the farthest from "premium" that I have ever seen. It comes with it's own pond when it rains! I thought my mat and chairs were going to float away at one point. The pine trees are nothing more than scrub brush that leave a greenish slime on the ground and seem to be shedding needles all over the place. They should be cleared to allow the maple trees to thrive. We were located right across from the maintenance shed with lots of golf cart and tractor traffic in and out. I guess this place doesn't hire workcampers any more because most of the staff is younger. What a shame as the workcampers were always so friendly and helpful. These young workers like to do stunts on their golf carts and certainly don't subscribe to the 5 MPH or 10 MPH posted speed limits. We tried to get some ice cream but the snack shop apparently isn't open on Monday or Tuesday. Overall, it seems this place has lost it's charm. I wish they would at least treat their repeat customers better. They seem to want to favor the seasonals now. We did try the Gettyburg Campground a year or two ago. It seemed nice but didn't compare to what Drummer Boy once was. We will take a couple hours to drive around to the other campgrounds and check them out. We need something new. I'll be sure to leave similar comments with the front office in hopes they'll care. You can tell they have cut back here and it has affected the quality of this campground, all for the almighty, maximum profit dollar. I can't help but wonder if all the profit is going to a select few at the top of the corporate ladder. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

For the most part, we liked this large campground. We had a shaded gravel site, quite level, not too close to others. Lots of seasonals that had the best sites. Nice pond and waterpark. This "Resort" has gone down hill over the last 3 years. Coincidentally , the resort was taken over by new owners 3 years ago. We found that the staff was extremely rude, and when asked questions, the staff seemed like it was a problem to give you the entire answer. When I made reservations, I asked about the water slide, in relation to our campsite. They told me where it was. They did not, however, tell me that there was an additional charge of $10.00 per person, per day. The hours were limited, especially for summertime hours, and you must obtain a wristband from the main office. The office is at the other end of the park. The gift shop is a "hands off" gift shop. This I know because I witnessed the counter person telling a person to please do not touch the "toy guns ", they are for sale, not to just handle. The movie times , published on the flyer, were wrong because " the office chooses to play it earlier if they want." Then people show up at the correct movie time, and it is already 1/2 over. When asked if they can start the movie again, the staff stated that they are on a time schedule and maintenance leaves at a certain time. The movie must be over by then because maintenance has to put the movie away. This was told to me as the counter person was stopping the movie, and putting it away herself. We talked with several campers who have stayed with Drummer Boy over the last 10 to 15 years. They feel the same way. Many of them reported that this would be their last stay @ Drummer Boy. We had a really nice time at this park. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the minute you get there. The roads were easily navigated even with my 39 ft 5th wheel. Before this place was sold, we would come here 4 to 8 times a year. However, now under new ownership, we only stay here once a year. Reason being, the staff is unprofessional and the rates are sky rocketing. Here is an example of being unprofessional, upon check-in during this stay, the manager was screaming at her employees in front of customers. There is a time and place for this sort of thing. Yet another example, is the old owners would drive around and talk to everyone. Under the new management, you don't really see anyone except in the office. When I phoned for a site, I stated that I needed full hook and the employee told me they had one left; I accepted and was sent an email confirmation. We arrived at the campground and the site wasn't a full hookup and it was to small for our camper(also right next to the highway). The employees were more then willing to help me but the manager was rude, he made me feel like it was my fault; that the site I got was due to me waiting to long to book it. He was willing to give me a cottage for the price of the site but I couldn't bring my pet in the cottage. There was a last minute cancellation and we were given a prime site. We went there during off season, pool was not opened, but looked nice. Shaded and open level sites. They are adding new sections, and their cabins looked real nice. We enjoyed the proximity to Gettysburg battle field. They have private bathrooms, and everything was very clean. We will go again and would recomment this campground. We didn't have time to enjoy the fishing pond. They have a big rec center and had activities planned, which looked like fun - we didn't have time to attend. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground, clean with lots to do in and around the campground. The campground has something going on about every weekend. Gettysburg offers a glimps at the Nations formation and has nice places to eat in town. I would recommend staying around the pond as that is a little more roomy and less traffic noise from Rt. 15. We came here because of Woodall's ad and write-up. Our site was not level, even though they told us it was a premium site and would be level. The price of the park is very high, but if you want wifi service, you must pay extra. We found that to be unacceptable. Luckily, we do have an air card so we were able to access the web and our cell phone. It was extremely noisy with our "premium" site situated one stand of trees away from the freeway. Due to the fact that we arrived on the Columbus Day weekend, all the parks in the area were busy, therefore we were unable to change campgrounds. Had we been able to do so, we would have. We spent 4 weeks at the campground. We enjoyed the location because it was so close to the battlefields and town (1 mile from downtown). The campground (even though it has "resort" in the title) was a nice campground like a typical KOA with many close trees, narrow roads, and nothing but dirt pads and sites. It is nice if your goal is to get back to nature and see Gettysburg. For full-timers that still work full-time, it was a bit too rustic. They charged for the internet wi-fi ($60 per month) and our neighbor said the signal was poor we were in a "weak spot" according to the office. The laundry facility was expensive, and the water level in the washing machines was so low that you could not get your clothes clean or rinsed and there was no sign warning you about this. When we return to Gettysburg we will look at another park one less "woodsy". We had to unhook the car prior to going to our site because of the narrow roads and sharp turns even though we had a pull-through, our 38 foot motor home could not get there with the car attached. We loved this campground. The staff was nice and courteous and went out of their way to accommodate us anyway they could. The children had a great time and enjoyed the water slide. As far as noise we were in the 300 sites and we had no problems with noise at all. The only downfall with this campground is that it's so large and you have to drive to get to the store because it was too far to walk in the 95 degree temperatures. We would definitely stay here again perhaps when our children are a little older and can appreciate the battlefield more. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We also used this campground for several years, many years ago, and it has changed - not necessarily for the better. The cost per night is one of the most expensive we have encountered outside of a true RV resort setting. The site we were first assigned was very uneven and I could not get our rig level front to back. Requested another level site - there were several available in the area - and had to pay extra for a 'premium' site. While stopping at the office to pay the extra charge, I made a comment about the uneven site that I could not use, I was told that I would normally have been charge extra for switching sites. We stayed only one night and intend to not return. I also echo others comments about the road noise from Hwy 15 and the abundance of golf carts. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was the highest priced campground that we have ever stayed at. The campground was kept clean and landscaped. It is located near the battle field and attractions. The only thing that they did not charge extra for was the pools, which are only four feet deep. There is an interstate that goes right beside of the campsites and is very loud. The staff were somewhat friendly. Golf carts are every where. And with gravel roads, the dust is bad. At $62 dollars a night, I think we will try other campgrounds in the area. This is a very nice campground. It is far enough out, but close enough in. It is long and narrow as opposed to square like many damps, this is perhaps the only drawback. It is over a mile long! Our site was level. Each site is separated from the next by a few trees and some boulders. It was large enough to park our jeep at either end without crowding our rig. The only drawback, and it was our fault, was not checking the area schedule. We wound up visiting during Bike Week. People were OK, but the bikes are just too noisy for me. About the only other down is a $10 a day charge for the water slide. We would definitely return in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The water at this campground is thoroughly disgusting, even when filtered. bring your own water for everything that you will be consuming. I cannot say if its the campground only, or the whole area--after the first day we bought lots & lots of bottled water and used only that. The store was nicely stocked with RV equipment but only the bare necessities for grocery items; there were no real souvenir type products for the area which was frankly surprising. we used only the pool near the main entrance. it was clean and clear but not attended by a staff person for 2 out of 3 visits. Teenagers played very --well crazy like teenagers with no regard for little children in the pool. this was not the best. and the pool, despite no staffing, had hours of 10 - 7 although it was very light till after 8 pm. teens drove golf carts very fast up & down the roadways. We will most likely try other campgrounds in this area which advertise half the price. (We spent $50 for our first night & $65/night for the next two nights) Wireless internet is available but only for an extra fee We camped here in a Motorhome.

It has 2 pools, one of which has a huge water slide that you have to pay extra to use. Gravel roads that you may rent golf carts to get around because the place is huge. They have cut down a lot of trees, which is disapointing. New cottage rentals are very nice. Some have kitchen & bathroom inside. Flat screen tvs w/ cable. They run $250 a night to $85 for the small cabins. They have putt putt, arcade room, & a small boardwalk where you can buy food & ice cream. Activities are planned for themed weeks. We stayed for seven nights. When making a reservation, I was told that I was being upgraded to a seasonal site since I booked a week. Upon arrival I discovered that the site I was assigned was very, very unlevel yet all the beautiful sites around us were either level or pretty close. This is the reason I feel I was assigned this site as there is no way anyone will pay to keep a rig on this site long term. I had to virtually put the nose of my 5th wheel on the ground to get close to level. Now, with my whining out of the way, this is a very beautiful park and has all kinds of activities. The pull-thru sites in the new (blue) section are very nice and I wish we had been assigned there. There is some road noise from Highway 15, but unless you are up front by office it is not an issue. They are doing some expanding and I do not think that the waterslide is open. It is close to all Gettysburg attractions. I would camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park. Every space seems to have some privacy with trees/bushes in between each one. I have a 40' MH and never could get level. The grade was too severe front to back AND side to side. That's why this place gets a 7 from me. I asked to move (stayed for 7 days) but they only had 2 available spots and they were worse than the one I had. We can hear the road noise from Hwy 15 ( we are located at the very rear of the park), but it's not unbearable. Probably will not stay here again based on the leveling issues from poorly graded spots for 40'+ MH's. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We recently stayed at Drummerboy and have mixed views. We arrived about 1pm on our reserved day and had to pay a $10 fee on top as an "early arrival" fee. After already paying $60 per day? I've never had a $200 per night hotel charge me for arriving 2 hours early. Once we got to our site, it was apparent that there were 30-40 sites open, so we certainly weren't kicking anyone out early. You have to pay a daily fee for Wi-Fi even though that isn't mentioned until you arrive. We didn't use the pools or mini-golf, although there was a sign that said you had to purchase wristbands to use the pool. Again, I compare this to expensive hotels that do not charge guests for access to pools. Bathrooms/showers are big and clean, so that's a positive point. This is a very big campground. (Our site was #320; I think there are 370 current sites.), and you are pretty much parked on top of each other. The place is so big that most people think you need a golf cart to get from one end of the place to another. Anyone hear of walking when you are out "camping"? The deluge of golf carts lead to a near bumper car situation when trying to leave the campground due to the numerous number of kids out "cruising" in golf carts. The noise level from nearby Highway 15 drove us mad. We asked for something that was as far away from 15 as possible, and we still heard every vehicle that passed by. The reservationist was fairly rude when I asked her about refunds/cancellations. She said the full amount was to be charged at the reservation time, and I inquired about a refund if we found we didn't like the place after arriving. She scoffed and said, NO refunds after arriving. If the park is confident of their facility, why would they be worried about locking down an unhappy camper at the peak of the season? Other places nearby had cheaper prices, but we went with this campground based on previous overly cheerful (and now suspicious) ratings. If you are going to spend more time downtown and in the national park and not a lot of time scrunched up with your neighbors and dodging golf carts, then it is not too bad, but if you are looking for a relaxing "camping" experience, this Wal-mart sized campground is not it. Forgot to mention that Drummerboy is indeed going Wal-mart with some gigantic "log cabins" being wheeled in while we were there. 30 foot behemoths with fake looking "logs" slapped on the side, all dragged in on their own tandem wheeled trailer. I don't know if the tandem wheels will be removed or just covered up with more "wood." Definitely more shabby than chic and bound to tip the experience even more towards Wal-mart parking lots than anything resembling camping. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very large park. I'm more fond of the smaller ones, but that's personal preference. It was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is a nice park. Our site # was in the 300's so we were in the back by the waterslide & pool & also by Route 15. Playground is all the way out at the entrance to the park, & we had a little one along, & it was quite a hike for her. It can also be a little noisy being right next to the highway. The back sites are a little better for noise than the old part of the campground which is very noisy (site 53). Had no problem getting all slides open & awning out. Campfire rings are stationary & you can't sit all the way around them. Don't get me wrong its a decent campground & it is clean & well kept, but I just got my new info for 2008 & sites are up to $60.00 per night May through Sept. This is absolutely ridiculous. There are other places to go camping in this area that are just as nice but not as expensive. Also there is a % you get charged on top of the site fee called a "pillow tax" because you are in "Gettysburg". We camp other places in the area for a whole weekend for just a little over $60.00. We probably won't stay here anymore since the rates have gotten so out of hand. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A Beautiful campground that is immaculately clean. The sites are very large and the facilities are first class. The old owners were the nicest people in the world and will be sorely missed. The campground was sold to Diversified Investments about a year ago. Initially they struggled to maintain the same high quality of customer service the previous owners provided. However, they hired a new GM and assistant who are doing a great job of restoring it to what it once was. And Diversified isn’t shy about investing money in improvements. It remains one of my favorite campgrounds. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice campground. It is big, and the new sites in the back are nice the way they are landscaped. They are big rig friendly and easy to navigate. The pools are beautiful, but the water was cold with temperatures only in the 70s. The Comcast Cable was good with about 65 Channels. The staff were friendly enough, and the overall visual appeal of this campground is good. Golf cart rentals are also available which is nice due to the fact the campground is spread out. The bathrooms and showers also seemed pretty clean. I would recommend this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for one night to test our new unit out. It was a pretty bad experience. First the campground is like a maze. The gentleman at the front desk gave me directions. Well the directions were totally wrong. It was hard to follow the streets because all of the one way streets are not marked with street signs. The directions he gave me were sending me down one way streets the wrong way. I ended up in the back of the campground. Turned around and tried again. This time I dropped someone off to look for the site. Well I had to move because there was traffic backed up, so I turned down a road and ended up getting lost. Thankfully a camper helped me get my 36' unit around to my site the proper way (not the way the CG told me to go). We pulled in and wouldn't you know the site was very unlevel. I had my tongue laying on my piece of wood and still couldn't level it. And when my trailer broke free from my hitch the trailer slid down hill until it loaded the wheel chocks. I now have the locks so this don't happen again. Then when we were leaving the site was to tight to make a turn out of it, I had to make my way out around through another empty site. The pools were nice, and I loved the shade but $10 for 1 water slide, yeah right. The campground office was so far away I am thankful I brought a bicycle with me. This is far from what I call a premiere campground. I have been to 10 CGs this year and this was the worst one of them all. I kind of knew this going in since I read the reviews on this site. This campground isn’t as bad as it seems when reading other reviews. However I do agree that it is pretty over priced for what you get. The grounds are nice and the facilities are clean. I do have a few complaints. The staff, (other than one nice retired couple that cleaned cabins), are not friendly and sometimes they were rude. Their planned activities were seriously lacking. They put no thought whatsoever behind their planned activities and it showed, barely any kids showed up for any of them! I think I’m just used to Yogi Bear Campgrounds that go the extra mile when it comes to their activities. We stayed away from the back side of the park (site 371A) so that I could not hear the highway noise but some sites you could actually see the highway through the bushes. They also did not enforce their quiet time as I woke up at 2am to hear a party going on outside the cabin across from our trailer. That was truly a disappointment as I have small kids, luckily they did not wake up. However I didn’t get much sleep that night myself. I had hoped, knowing that it was “Biker Weekend” in Gettysburg, and that many of the campers were staying for that reason alone, that they would have been extra diligent with their quiet time enforcement, since they so clearly mention on their website, “a family campground.” Overall it was just an okay camping experience. We probably will not go back next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Most over rated park I ever stayed at. Entry sign behind desk says it all, "NO REFUNDS". Ask yourself why? The great ratings for this park are telling you that there is a lot to do for the kids. Other than that, it is a rip off. Crowded, busy, noisy, near a noisy highway, impersonal staff. This is a facilities park. They have all the facilities to meet the star requirements for publications, but nothing in the way of a true campground. "NO REFUNDS" means they have something to hide and worry about. This was our first time at this park , and after reading reviews from campers recently, they had us all thinking the worst. Needless to say, the place was wonderful, clean bathrooms and clean showers, friendly staff. We were at site 104, right near the fishing pond, it was a little tight to get into, but gorgeous none the less. They could maybe stand to cut a few trees on the corners down and maybe trim some back in the tighter areas. Although no damage was done to our camper, I see how this could be a problem for some campers. It is very close to town and all the attractions. We will definitely return here, hopefully real soon. This was our 3rd time visiting the campsite. We always enjoyed our stay here and were a little worried since the reviews had really gone downhill. Fortunately we didn't have any problems at all. In our group, we had 3 adults and 6 kids (including 4 extremely excited little boys). The office staff never treated us rudely when our tribe came into the office. There were a couple of times that the girl at the desk didn't know the answers to our questions, but they always got an answer from a man who was hanging around in the background (manager??). We didn't feel like they went out of their way to help us but we didn't feel ignored or belittled either. Hopefully it's just taking awhile for them to work out the 'kinks' with the new ownership and things are getting better. Both pools, the mini golf, and the arcade were big hits with the kids. They really loved the water slide too. We like the sites at the back of the campground near the cabins. Our site was bigger and more private than the others we saw. Very disappointed with this campground. The check in process took a long time and employees were rude and disorganized. Our site was dirty when we arrived. There are only two laundry facilities throughout the whole campground. The one located near us had 4 washing machines and they were all out of order. I reported this to management and was told, "what's there is there." Also, the wifi didn't work from our site. The campground itself is close to downtown Gettysburg and is pretty with two nice pools, but it is poorly managed. Out site was not too difficult to level, but we would not stay here again. We can only verify what other campers wrote and add some further experiences. The WiFi is NOT worth purchasing when there are leaves on the trees (that's the explanation we received from one of the resident/retiree/employees who was probably the only pleasant employee we spoke with). There was a serious problem with broken washing machines (almost three quarters of them were out of order), but this fact was apparently not of sufficient importance to cause any of the three underwhelming teenage employees at the main desk to even make a note. On the plus side, there's an interesting water slide, which costs extra. The traffic noise from nearby Route 15 (and don't bother trying the sites out back--as someone here advised--as they are just incrementally less noisy) becomes a kind of white noise after awhile. If you go, run down to the main National Park building and rent a guy who drives you around in your car and, for the course of an incredible hour and a half, explains the Battle of Gettysburg to you and your spouse for forty bucks, plus twenty tip, and makes the experience so incredible that you end up being some kind of Civil War geek for a few days... There's a lounge/pub, to the left of the hotel with the restaurant, in the rotary downtown that's worth trying. Once again, the hourly (and mostly teenage) employees are adjuncts to useless and should be avoided, and given the (unacknowledged and unresolved) problems we experienced, we'll try Artillery Ridge next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My family and I stayed there during this past Memorial Day Weekend. The campground was in good shape and well manicured. Although we were traveling around Gettsburg much of the time, our time at the campground was enjoyable. The desk personal were very accommodating. One of their life guards (a teenager) could probably use some people training. I would recommend that you bring your bicycle with you if you intend on getting around the campground. It is large and hard to get around on foot. I felt the $55.00 per day golf cart rental was too steep. Overall, we had a good experience and will visit again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I have rated this facility higher in the past but the change in management has significantly altered the camping experience at Drummer Boy- some of the staff are extremely difficult to deal with on the simplest of transactions. We have camped here on 4 previous occasions and until this year we were entirely happy with our choice of campground. The campground facility itself is excellent, but some of the staff are so difficult to deal with that it spoils all of the features this campground has to offer. Gettysburg is a wonderful destination, and this campground used to be a place we looked forward to visiting. However, this time around was awful. In addition to the rude behavior we experienced, we also witnessed similar behavior with other campers and heard of many others. What a shame that such a great facility has lost its customer service perspective! One other note, the Wifi set up lacks bandwidth and depending on where you are in the part signal strength is very weak, so connecting is difficult and slow once connected. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here more than six times in the last four years, and were also part of the recent large group. Previously, this was one of our favorite campgrounds. As of our latest visit, there is little to compel us to return to this campground. The staff was not accommodating, was rude, and was far from helpful. They went as far as using derogatory comments after hanging up the phone with potential future customers. I thought this was childish in front of other customers. Having been in business for over 30 years, I am fully aware of customer service. In this regard, there is much to be learned by the new management and owners of Drummer Boy. We will not return to this campground in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall the park itself was pretty nice, considering what we've seen before: spacious, level gravel sites, nice amenities, free and clean showers, nice but expensive camp store, and great prices for visitors! However, there are a few downsides: the back of the park is down hill and it's a long walk up, the golf carts are outrageously priced, you can hear the highway very clearly, and the office staff certainly leaves something to be desired. If they weren't rude or indifferent, they were weird and almost seemed to be making fun of us. When my one teen son asked about a certain type of museum, the girl behind the counter pointed to the wall and didn't even look up to answer him. If you can deal with that, then this is your place. In regards to the noise, we were at the back of the park, in the #300's and it was if we were right on the freeway. At night, with the windows open, it was almost deafening at some points. The pools weren't open while we were there, but they looked nice. And we didn't get to fish or play volleyball, but the kids did venture into the arcade. Someone needs to alert the PA gambling people that the DS game seems to be rigged, though (and are kids allowed to gamble in PA?). My teens went through $48 in change to try to win the DS system, and never even came close to the 'mark'. Had it not been for that and the office staff, our rating might have been higher. But with the traffic, the gravel, the arcade and the hike up the hill, it was too much to rate this park a perfect 10. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Unfortunately the staff and corporate owner philosophy is to not welcome back those that do not plan to stay for an entire season! Hospitality and accommodating attitudes were not seen by any of the employees. I stayed with the mentioned rally and for such a profit generating group this place sure did not want to have anything to do with us! This was our 2nd and LAST time we stay at this place. This was our first visit to Drummer Boy. A nice campground but very poor customer service. The staff was rude on more than one occasion,specifically during returning in of our golf cart, my wife waited 10 minutes before even being acknowledged by the staff. I understand that they were on the phone, but no one even acknowledged she was in the room until after the phone calls. I also was with the large group and was present at customer who couldn't get a level site. I wouldn't recommend the campground and I will not be going back. Under new ownership they now require payment in full and offer rainchecks only - should you need to cancel. If you don't need good customer service, this is the place to go. We did stay here as part of the rally below, but have a different side of the story. Our site was very level, maybe we just got lucky. And the customer service we received in the main office was wonderful and very helpful. This was the fourth year for our large rally, and as a result of how many of us were treated, this unfortunately will be our last year at Drummer Boy. There seems to have been a shift in customer service philosophy at Drummer Boy since the new owners took over. Customer service does not appear to be a part of the culture of the new company. A couple members wanted to switch sites. They were not accommodated, even though the sites went unused, the entire weekend. One member arrived late one evening and could not get level in their site. They switched sites twice, and then were given another site to check. When they went back 10 minutes later to let the office know they could get level, and take the site, they were told that site was no longer available! In a ten minute span! And...that site went unused for another day. Although it is a fairly nice campground, they have lost our business. Many of the sites are incredibly un-level. Office staff was rude at times. A new campground will be happy to accept what we estimate to be about $10,000 in revenue for one weekend. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stay here a couple times a year and always enjoy it. Only real issue is the highway noise from Rt. 15. The noise is not as prevalent in the summer. The leaves on the trees do cut down on the noise somewhat. Great location to enjoy what the military park has to offer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was an excellent well maintained large park. Definitely family oriented. The restrooms/showers were superb, clean, new, well maintained. The staff was very accommodating, even delivered the mail to the site. Great access to the major artery (Hwy 15) and the Gettysburg attractions. While the roads and sites themselves were gravel, they were in good condition. We camped here in a Motorhome.

During our stay, the restrooms and showers were modern and clean. The bath house that we utilized contained six separate facilities, each having a lockable door. The two pool facilities were nice and clean. The teenage employees who handled the family craft activity were reasonably efficient and suprisingly courteous. Other workers were pleasant as well. The only negative was the difficulty our ten and three year olds had riding their bikes on the hills and road surface of small rocks. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in site #14 which is very close to the office. We did hear road noise from the highway but did not find it overwhelming as other did. We did have two families parked on opposite sides of us who found our campsite very convenient to cut through. Didn't care for the lay out of the CG. Not a blade of grass in the area we were in. Sardines come to mind. Looked around in the new section and found it to be very crowded. Bought $15 of wood which would not burn. When I complained they gave me more wood that would not burn. Next time we'll try another CG. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground is huge and not in a positive way. Our campsite was all the way in the back. It was on a steep incline and we were at the bottom. It was very far to the office and main pool. We did have easy access to the smaller pool with the slide. Although an extra fee is required for the slide, we have come to realize this is common practice for most campgrounds and are accustomed to it. I don't recall any road noise as mentioned in previous reviews, mostly because I couldn't get over how inconvenient the whole campground was. My daughter was not able to easily ride her bike given the terrain and the type of stone used on the roads. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice, and large, and busy. We were in for the Memorial Day weekend and got a last minute cancellation site. The most ridiculously clean restrooms we had ever seen, cleaned several times a day and night...wow. Too many golf carts roaming around (I thought) and lots of opportunities to blow through money at the well stocked store, snack bar, water slide, etc. Movie night for the kids was great and lots of scheduled events. Very convenient to the battlefield, full service grocery (Giant) is one exit north. We'll be back and are already booked for next Memorial Day. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Excellent camping resort. First time in our new camper and even though it rained we had a great experience. Only reason for not giving a 10 rating is that our campsite was close to Rt. 15, which is a very busy highway with lots of tractor trailers. I felt like we were parked literally on the side of the road. It was even hard to hear each other talk while sitting around the campfire. Look close at the camp site map before deciding on your spot. You do not want to be near the Walker Trail side of the map. Extremely clean campground and bathrooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. BINGO in Lincoln Hall was a lot of fun and cheap. From workampers view, the park is clean and the staff is caring. It is a very busy park on weekend especially during the height of the season. Warnings of the noise near the front part of the park has been posted here. It is a large park so be prepared to use your toad or walk long distances'. The camp also rents golf carts for daily or weekly use. The new waterslide was very exspensive to put in. There is a $10.00 pass that gets you into the waterpark as well as use of the paddleboats on a small pond. It is a family oriented park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

While we are aware that most people rate this campground very highly, we also wanted to point out that it is not for everyone. This campground, although clean and providing many services, has far too busy an atmosphere for those looking for a quiet campground. Additionally, you will find it is near a busy road with road noise. Coming from a country home in Vermont, we found this annoying. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

Make sure you are not located in the lower number sites such as site #10, they are located right next to a major highway and the noise from the road is loud and goes on all day and all night. You cannot enjoy the outdoors with all the noise, also those sites are close to the office and store another source for noise, not the area of the park to enjoy a restful visit. The site in the back are wonderful with more room and less noise. We had a problem over one weekend with a family with a Karoke machine and serveral kids and adults using it very loudly all day and night, the park rangers did nothing to quiet it down and we were sure glad to see them leave. The workers are all friendly and helpful and the location is great for sight seeing and enjoying the area. We will come back but will only due so if we can get a site in the back of the campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here for a week based on reviews listed above and was not disappointed. We were in site 5 a pull through. It was close to the pool/snackbar, game room, store, etc... Our site was very wide so we were not crowded awning to awning and this place is very wooded. We only heard the road noise one day and it was not that bad although if you are in site 64 or 65 you are right next to the highway. This place has over 700 sites but everything was so clean and we did not notice any permanent sites. Gettysburg is a great location to see the surrounding area. We spent 3 days seeing the battlefield attractions (tours, museums, ghost tours, etc...) and then visited Hershey (1:15min drive) Lancaster county Amish attractions (1:30min) shopping , shopping, shopping, and 1 day just swimming in the pool/longing at the campground. We only used the front pool not the back waterslide pool, but the front pool is very nice with zero depth entry, waterfall, snack bar etc... Overall this place rates as one of the top ten places we have camped at. Comparable to the nicest state parks and just below Topsail Hill and Fort Wilderness. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We liked this campground, but agree with all the negatives that have been stated by ealier reviews. Highway noise, they nickle and dime you to death, and the time they choose to close the restroom for cleaning (9:30am) was odd to say the least. I think I would try another campground before returning. We stayed in August for four nights and have 2 kids 11 and 14. We did not pay the dollar for each slide down. We camped here in the Summer of 2005, and had a great time. I'm not sure when the ownership changed, but the staff in 2005 were fine, and allowed me to change sites. We camped in #147 (water & electric only), and it was perfect: very large and somewhat secluded, shaded, no highway noise, and right next to a pond. This is a VERY expensive camping experience (the most I've ever paid), but it was so nice, we stayed two more days than we'd planned. Our kids were ages 8 and 6 then, and loved the water slide ($7 for the day in 2005). We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We were attracted to this campground because of its flashy ad. This is a nice campground with lots of shady lots, but it is very impersonal. We had a problem navigating the streets because some of the streets do not coincide with the map of the campground. We were also shocked that the waterslide is $1.00 a ride or you can purchase a wristband for the day. The waterslide was okay, but not worth the money. The pools were very clean, though. You do have to have bikes or a car to get around the park. I would probably stay at another campground if we go back to Gettysburg. This campground is outside of town, but it is convenient to stores and the town of Gettysburg We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall this was just an okay campground. Heed the warnings about what site you pick. We stayed near the top of the map (site 139) and could hear the road noise all day and night. I noticed some sites where you could actually see the highway. Our site had lake drainage near the back and it caused our site to be muddy and full of bugs. The one very nice part of the park was the new pool and water slide. It is very well done and my 3 year old daughter really enjoyed it. Unless we camped on the other side of the lake, I don't think I would stay here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

I just do not see this place as a "10" as so many others do. Terribly loud highway noise awaits anyone camping on or near sites 68 and 69. Cramped and chaotic parking for new arrivals, lousy laundry hours, lack of speed enforcement, and the surprise charge for usage of the new water slide were big negatives. On the upside, spotless, modern bathrooms, top quality staff, lifeguards at the pools, superb amenities do offset the shortcomings. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I already reviewed this campground but forgot to mention the big slide at the new pool is an extra charge - there's no charge to swim, just to ride the slide - tokens for one ride cost $1 or a daily bracelet for unlimited rides cost $7. I agree with the comments made in earlier reviews. We were there at the start of the week-long event that commemorates the Battle of Gettysburg and the park was full. Even so the bathrooms were clean and I never had to wait for a shower in the ladies room! The only time we felt crowded was in the pools - it was 95 and humid the weekend we visited. Suggestions regarding sites - the sites at the top of the map on the campground's web site are closest to the highway so stay away from those if road noise bothers you. Also sites along the major roads through the park get very dusty - nothing an application of oil or some rain wouldn't cure. Very friendly staff and fellow campers - kudos! Wow! What a great camping experience! This was the nicest campground we have ever stayed at. The restrooms are immaculate, as are most of the common areas of the campground. The pools are fantastic. The new waterslide/pool complex was really nice - has zero entry for little ones (as does the other pool) and the waterslide is great for the older ones. My 7 year old loved it! There was an abundance of life guards at the new pool, plus two life guards at the old pool. Daily activities, including pool games, crafts, and bingo, as well as nightly movies, kept us occupied when we weren't off doing other things. (FYI - A visit to the Inner Harbor took about 1 hour and 15 minutes.) We had a really large, deep campsite that was just perfect with a mix of shade and sun. The Deli on the Deck is great for a quick lunch or an ice cream cone after dinner! The campground is close to everything and the staff is WONDERFUL. Our truck broke down while we were there and one of the staff drove my husband to the auto parts store to get what he needed!!! Even offered to loan him tools if he didn't have what was required! Luckily the alternator was replaced in an hour and we were off and running again. We will definitely visit here again. What a great experience. We camped here with our son and two dogs for five nights. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice and big campground. It is hard to get around by just walking. We rented a golf cart because of the gravel it was difficult to ride bikes. We had a site in the "new" section up the hill next to the new water slide. It was a decent size site. The best thing about it was the awesome neighbors! There was planned activities and a well stocked store. The "heated" pools were beautiful but still not warm enough for the chilly day. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I really liked this place. At arrival the campsite was clean and a lot bigger than I would have expected. I would have given a better rating but the road noise was a downer. I used the showers/bathroom facilities and were clean at every use. I also used the laundry room twice and both washer/dryer worked just fine. Took the dogs for nightly walks around the park and it was hard to pick out seasonal sites since every thing seemed pretty well maintained. I would definitely stay here again. Stayed 3 nights in October. Still quite a few rigs came in. Sites, restooms, and laundry
were clean. services and staff were excellent. Well stocked store, Sites were easy to pull in. We were only going to stay one night, but we enjoyed the Campground and Gettysburg so much we stayed an additional two. There is a 1 1/2 acre fish pond in the center of the campground. Only nibbles from little fish. Had a beautiful red tail hawk sitting in a nearby tree for a while. The campground is in the process of adding more big rig sites in the back. You could here traffic noises from the highway. I would reccomend this park and I would not hesitate to camp here again. Very positive stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was a very nice campground with excellent facilities, easy access, great staff, and most everything else you would look for in a top-notch campground. It had a very nice and well stocked store (very important.) I had only a few complaints, but I would certainly stay here again. The firewood was expensive ($6 for a small, wet bundle), there was a lot of road noise from route 15, and the layout of the site was odd....the water hookup was on the right hand side and the other hookups were on the left. I had to purchase an extension for my water hose so I could reach it. I don't know if the other sites are setup like this or not, but I have never seen this before. I really enjoyed the time I was here. It is very close and convenient to the Battlefield and multiple stores and restaurants. They do a very nice job here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 7/20-7/23. The owner mans the counter and was very helpful when I was having
trouble logging into the WiFi system. He called the WiFi people from the counter and fixed the problem. Additionally we broke down and he provided me with names of very helpful local repair/dealers. They helped sort out my problems so we could get on our way. The staff were great, park was neat as a pin, and an excellent family campground. We will go again and again. Park is very nice. We had a large pull through site that was comfortable. Our 40' rig fit with no problems with plenty of space to park our car. Picnic table and fire ring was here as well; again roomy. Park was very quiet at night which was a plus. Another real plus was the store which was well stocked with all kinds of things, as was fairly priced. Staff were friendly and helpful in every way. The pool was nice and was real clean. We really enjoyed this park and will come back. I didn't use the bathrooms or showers, but from the looks of them from the outside, they appeared to in in good order. This park is so nice, I'm wouldn't think of going during a holiday weekend (4th July, Labor or Memorial day) as I'm afraid the crowds would be a problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I wasn't happy here. My kids, ages 11 & 13, said the same thing. WAY too many people jam-packed in here. Minuses: parking at reservation office needs to be re-thought (office, store, laundry and snack bar are all at the same place and everyone parks in the drive thru area. We had to sit in the main road and wait for everyone to leave so we could pull thru and get to our site); laundry is locked (no key code) at 9 pm and not opened until 8:30 am (I like to do laundry early so I beat the rush); the pool was so full, I wasn't about to let my kids in there (so full you could not do anything but stand around). Understand, we enjoy a nice busy campground but Drummer Boy was way too busy that weekend for me. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great campground. Sites are large, people are friendly, lots of activities, bathrooms are constantly being monitored. Great place to stay to see Gettysburg National Park, and after its done, jump in their heated pool or jacuzzi, or enjoy a pizza on their outdoor deck. Very impressed. We camped here in a Motorhome.

this is an awesome campground!!! very clean, the management is very friendly and Knowledgeable of the area and things to do. this is a nice campgound for familys with kids ,plenty to do. nice big pool they also have a nice hottub right next to the pool for adults only so you can watch the kids while you relax.This is the nicest campground we have ever been to and we will go back again.Also a large stocked fishing pond. Stayed here for a few nights in April. The place was quiet, sites are spacious. Some are grassy and some are set off in the woods. The bathrooms are immaculate and all the facilities are clean and are neat in appearance. They have activities during the busy season. We camped here in a camper.

We enjoyed our time at this campground. We took advantage of the the evening family movies, but little else since we did multiple day trips to see historic Gettysburg. The employees were all very friendly. The sites here are a little narrow, but not cramped. We had site # 41 which was very convenient to the bathhouse, but a light that was shining right into our site. We like to sit by the fire so the campfire "atmosphere" was non-existant. The other sites were not affected by the light, so just ask not to be put in site 41. We will definitely be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground that is family friendly. Fenced in dog park, but very limited grass for pets. Sites are gravel and level, but a little tight for big rigs (we are 35 feet). Restrooms and facilities were clean and well stocked. The camp store has most everything including self guided audio tours or bus tour information. Pool was closed during our stay, but the playground was nice. Getting in and out of the park can be difficult along with the travel through town. We would definitely stay again. Very nice campground; we were there with friends and our two sites had incredible privacy nestled into the trees and the hillside. There are enough trees that getting satellite reception is unlikely on many sites; the cable TV signal was adequate but weak and snowy on our site. We have a 27 foot motorhome, and the site we were on couldn't have taken one much larger. Larger sites are available, but be sure you specify what you need. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There isn't enough I can say about this campground. Plenty for the kids to do, clean bathrooms and showers, gravel roadways and sites, and beautiful grounds. Plenty of people pruning, cleaning, or just lending a hand to someone who needed it. Security did rounds at night, and trash was always picked up throughout the day. Camp store had everything you needed if you forgot something, and they also have a pancake breakfast Saturday & Sunday mornings for $2.95. Perfect if you don't feel like cooking one morning. Sites are all well shaded and a bit on the small side, but the campground is well laid out and the sites and cabins don't look like they were just put there. From the time we arrived to the time we left, you can see that the owners and staff take pride in their campground. We camped here in a Tent.

We have stayed here several times now and use it for one night stopovers. There are several sites that allow big rigs to stay hooked up with all the services. This campground is nicely wooded. People working the reservations desk are friendly and helpful. They take you to your site and are willing to help you get situated on the site. WiFi worked very well with a strong signal. Best advice is to follow instructions to get to the campground. Do Not use GPS. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Once you find it, this is a nice small park. The pull through sites are limited. There is a heavy tree cover at this park but the cable TV is robust. An accurate channel listing would have been helpful. Nicely stocked small store. Staff is good. Water pressure was very low on some days. If you plan to go toward the DC area from here, ask for directions: that will let you avoid driving your coach through downtown Gettysburg (narrow streets and a round-about). A beautiful country setting. We really enjoyed our stay and would do so again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our second stay at this campground and it is our favorite in the Gettysburg area. By far it's the most private and quiet. We enjoy the deluxe pull-through sites. This park is absolutely beautiful. We had a well kept luxury site with its own swing and updated picnic table. It is in the hills, and there's a lot of rocks which are well placed to serve as a borders to the site, so be careful when you maneuver around them. The staff is helpful and friendly. They offer breakfast on the weekend, and free coffee daily. Dinner is served upon request and is brought to your rig. All in all a very nice quiet place to get away and just relax. Overall this is a nice campground but I found some areas lacking. One is the bathrooms. While they are clean and well maintained they are full bathrooms: toilet, sink, shower in one room. There are only 4 of the rooms available in the main camp area. There a bath house down at the camp store/pool area but that is a hike. Wi-Fi didn't work. The smallish sites made parking our 38' MH difficult as many TOADS took up some of the roadway reducing the radius. The park is all trees so careful backing is a must. Very few pull throughs. It is also not as close to Gettysburg as we thought. Finally cable costs extra and it's only the very basic channels. We won't stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground host and workers are very nice and helpful. They showed us to our site and helped me back in. They take very good care of this campground nice and clean sites. This was the nicest KOA my wife and I stayed in. If you are needing diesel there is only one gas station in Gettysburg and that is the Exxon station in town otherwise you will have to leave town to get diesel. We would stay here again. Overall, this park was a good place to stay: quiet and convenient to Gettysburg. It has lots of trees and shade and was well run for the most part. The dog park and dog walk area was very nice and the people really were helpful. Possibly overpriced, but it seems to me that is the case with a lot of KOA campgrounds. The WI-FI worked most, but not all, of the time. The reason I didn't rate higher was based on a sewer pipe problem across from us. They would work on it, then it would overflow: again and again. They should have just called a professional plumber! Not a pretty sight. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our second camping experience, and we loved this campground. It was clean, friendly, visually pleasing, with wooded and rustic looking sites. Even though we were close to our neighbors, boulders and trees separated us very well. The pool, playground and mini golf areas were well taken care of and the flowers were beautiful. I did use the bathrooms- older but okay, but some ants around. I think they are hard to avoid in these wooded areas. They have cabins, too, but we weren't too close. The overall feeling was serenity, and there weren't too many people making loud noises. There was a nice camp store, pancake breakfast on weekend, movie night, and other offerings. We just enjoyed our peace! The sign says this was a top KOA winner, and I can see why! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Two small regiments of re-enactors were at the park during our stay, making the park even more enjoyable. If cable wasn't an extra charge, this camp would be rated a 10. We loved this park. It is located out in the country where the only sounds are the many birds singing. It is lush and lovely. The sites are spacious, gravel and level. Lush landscaping between the sites allows for privacy. We had good WiFi reception because we were in a site close to the office. We were able to rent a CD of the Gettysburg tour at the office which we very much enjoyed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had a deluxe full hookup - came with a wooden-lawn swing as well as the fire pit and lovely nice metal(mesh) picnic table. Lovely, staff is helpful, and the dog park is great. Laundry facilities were clean and real nice. Shuttle into town for the bus tour with guide was good and gave us a chance to sit back and let them do the driving. We stayed 3 nights, and wish we could have stayed longer. I would give it a 9.5 as I don't give out 10s. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great wooded campground. This is our third time staying here in 10 years and once again we were impressed. The staff was attentive and courteous. And believe it or not, the wifi worked well throughout the week at our site even though we were far away from the office. The gravel sites were a blessing this week since it rained constantly and we appreciated not having to walk through mud. The dog liked the new pet playground. We had a deluxe pull through site which made coming and going in our motorhome very convenient. The new cement fireplaces in the deluxe sites were nice and even came with a grate so we didn't need to put our grill on a table to cook. We loved the swings. Since we are all history buffs in our family including one reenactor we will return to Gettysburg. As a side note, the battlefield is very easy to tour via motorhome and once you get through downtown Gettysburg the area is quite RV friendly. (Watchout for your mirrors on the trees and utility polls while going through downtown.) We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is laid out so that long rigs, i.e., 5th wheels, etc., must use full hookup sites. Electric and water only sites do not provide enough maneuver room. This was a very nice park. We arrived after office hours, but there was a map with our information on it at the night registration area. Our site was level and did not require any leveling blocks, and we did not see any leveling blocks on the campers/motorhomes in our area. The dog park was a hit with our kids and the dog alike. Free Wi-Fi, but we could not access it very well at our site because of our distance from the office. Kids loved the pancake breakfast on the weekend. Will definitely return. Very nice and heavily wooded campground. Our site was extremely short and cramped with the trailer backed right up to a tent site, still leaving little room for the truck. Site had a fire ring however it was in the corner of our site, just off the tent site and about a foot from our awning. Luckily friends were nearby and our nights were spent at their site, while our days were touring the battlefields. Campground staff was very polite and helpful, and again the campground was really wooded and the bathrooms very clean. We will definitely return if we can get a bigger site, farther up the hill (or pull through). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Not only one of the best KOA's we've visited, one of the best campgrounds overall. Campground is a bit hilly, but all sites very level. Staff will assist you in parking. Lots of mature trees. Plenty of shrubbery and lots of rocks/boulders = very scenic grounds. No major roads nearby so nights were very quiet. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with guidance to local area. Dog park was fantastic! - Nicer than many kids' parks! Located about 10 - 15 minutes outside of Gettysburg, but well worth the drive. The day we stayed it was HOT, probably around 100 degrees when we pulled in. Campground is very shady, which was great given the weather. They now have a Kamp K9 fenced dog park with some agility equipment and shade. Our dogs loved it. We had a nice pancake breakfast. Pool was open and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi was a little slow so that's why I took off a point. Otherwise it would have been a 10. Probably lots of people hiding out in their RV's due to the heat and surfing the web causing the slow down. We've stayed here in the past and will stay again. Saw plenty of big rigs in here so they must be able to maneuver around. Our motorhome is only 29' and we didn't have any problems. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were a little depressed after reading the reviews. This is the first KOA we have been that didn't have any activities for a weekend. The cg was pretty full so I am not sure why nothing was planned. The only activity for kids was a ghost walk which was cancelled. No hayrides, etc. They did have a small park for kids and a really nice pet playground which looked new. The basketball was nothing more than a hoop and a small gravel area. Shuffleboard was nice, minigolf was not to nice, lifesize checkers/chess was cool. Of course it rained and with nothing to due indoors we just sat and watched the rain. The CG staff was friendly at all times. The CG is mostly wooded which we do like. The roads around the CG are kinda tight. The rates seemed a little high for what we were getting. The pool was closed, looked nice but small. CG store was nice and had a good stock. One other issued I didn't like was they would not give us a CG site number until we arrived. Each year we stay in Gettysburg, unfortunately we we probably will not return as we have had better times at other CG's here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The pull-thru section's roads are too narrow, not well marked and the trees have not been trimmed to allow for rigs of 13 ft or taller to go thru safely. The location of this campground is lovely in comparison to the other campgrounds in Gettysburg. It is still close to Gettysburg sights, but secluded enough to provide a peaceful get away. The sites are shaded and well kept. The owners are on-site and take pride in the family-friendly atmosphere. There is a wonderful playground and an adorable play cabin for children. The premium sites have a two-person wood swing, that really adds to the experience. However, the most of the sites are very small and campground itself is not level, which makes for difficult walking and bike riding. The mini-golf is literally on the side of the hill and may be difficult to access for older visitors. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites spacious for a private CG, separated by shrubs, small trees & boulders, all natural to the area. Hilly CG - road to some cabins narrow & steep. Some cabins have very private settings. We love this campground and stay as often as we can. We stay in the deluxe sites and feel they are well worth the small extra fee. During this stay it rained the entire stay but with the gravel sites you have absolutely no mud or mess. Also due to the sites being wooded we felt very protected from the elements. We did really enjoy our stay. We'd give a ten if the sites were larger and better spaced and if the bathhouse were closer. Our site was pretty well shaded and very level, but we had tenters right next door to the right, and even though they were lovely people, we felt that they were right on top of us. Had a popup been there with their back end to us, we might have felt that we had more privacy. There were also yellow jackets EVERYwhere and this made for a difficult stay. My husband was stung visiting the bathhouse. However, rowdy visitors were not tolerated at all, and we really appreciated the constant visible security. The many and varied family activities were wonderful too. Overall, we would return but missed the space that we enjoyed at the Gettysburg Campground up the road. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

What an enjoyable experience. Campground located well away from busy roads making it very quiet. Graveled roads in campground and graveled sites. Heavily wooded but not so much as to impede access. Sites were relatively level. Staff friendly and very helpful. Camp store remains open until 10 PM, great for those late night ice cream cravings. Fire rings provided at all sites. Staff escorts you to your site and even helps you back in. The campground was very clean and well maintained. Water quality was very good. My in-laws and kids enjoyed the pancake breakfast and charity tag sale going on Saturday morning. We did camp with our dog and had no problems. Unlike a previous reviewer, we were able to leave her on site and noticed other dogs(barking) in their unattended campsites. I wouldn't worry about leaving my dog in the motorhome unattended unless you know that the dog would draw attention to itself. (This seems to be a standard KOA policy.) We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice campground with lots to do. We stayed on one of their Halloween weekends and it was great. They had lots of planned activities for kids including making "edible crafts" and trick or treating through the campground. Only negative was we went for the Sunday morning pancake breakfast...so did the rest of the campground! They were not probably staffed to handle the volume of people. We waited over an hour for pancakes! Next time we'll make our own! But overall it was a great experience and we are already planning to go back next Halloween. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Our family has been going to the KOA for years. Great base for exploring the Gettysburg area. The sites are level with lots of gravel. We took a ghost tour Friday night and then Saturday night, the campground had a ghost walk. Free coffee in the mornings and $2.75 pancake breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning. this campground to us is what all campgrounds should aspire to be. the owners are wonderful and will go above and beyond to be of service to all campers regardless of what type of camping they are enjoying. their staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. if they don't have the answer (which is unusual) they will find the info you need. we have stayed in a number of site over the years and have always been pleased. wooded level sites which provide the perfect atmosphere and a multitude of activities for all ages. campers come first in this campground. This park is very wooded with well laid out sites. One of the best parks I've been to as far as shade and being in a nature setting. Lots of activities for the kids which was nice. Park was very quiet; even though full. Only reason for an 8 is due to the pool. Not bad but not perfect, water was looking a little green by the end of the weekend, but I'll chalk that up to summertime heat and non-bathing swimmers. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is my idea of a perfect campground! It is very wooded. The spaces are large and separated by trees, boulders, etc. The bathrooms and showers are very clean . Our site was a bit small, but it was shaded and level, and had great boulders for the kids to play on. They have a clean pool, two play areas, and a giant outdoor chess set. There was also mini golf and outdoor checkers. Lots for kids to do. It was just a short drive into the center of Gettysburg, which is why we chose this park. We would camp here again. This is a very nice campground. The staff is very accomodating and helpful. It's clean and somewhat quiet considering the place is full. I would have rated this a 10 except for the difficulty backing in to some of the sites. My site is small but shady and one of the hosts helped me back in when I arrived. The pictures on the website are a bit deceiving as the campground is on a hill, not flat as the pictures show. Nevertheless, the sites are level and fairly well laid out. The site pads are gravel as are the main roads and that can make for a tricky ride up the hill. The camp store is fully stocked with somewhat pricey items (firewood is $7 a bundle) The bathrooms are clean and trash is picked up every morning. There is a small dog walk at the entrance to the park. I didn't use the pool but it appeared clean and well kept. They offer a pancake breakfast every weekend morning for $2.75 and will deliver pizza to your site if you don't feel like cooking. There are bikes to rent and shuttle buses to the battlefield twice a day. They tried to keep the general setting as natural as possible, large boulders were left in place at almost every site. One thing they need to do is upgrade the electrical system. It appears old and I had my breaker trip a number of times when others began using their ac units. Overall this is one of the better KOA's I have stayed in. I will come back again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Camped here for KOA's free night weekend in May, paid for second night. Almost all sites are shaded, roads & sites all gravel. All recreation in woods, mini golf, shuffle board, horse-shoes, etc, no open area for volleyball or badminton. Heated pool was open in mid May. Escort to site backed me in perfectly. Site was level & good size for slide & large awning, was little tight on the exit. Quiet at night, even when full. Friendly neighbors & staff, although both times in office, to get & return shuffle board equipment did need to wait, even though there was more than one worker. This is one of the better campgrounds in the Gettysburg area. Would return again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We had reservations to stay at this campground, however, was not able to stay here because of one of their policies. One reason families choose to travel in a camper is so they can bring their pet along with them. It is not unusual to expect that a family will leave their pet in the air conditioned camper while sightseeing in a particular area. This campground will not allow you leave your pet unattended at any time in your own camper -- they request that you kennel your pet. Why would I kennel my pet at a campground when I wouldn't do it at home while going on vacation. It was in the 90's everyday and my pet would have been far better off in the air conditioned camper than traveling with us or being kenneled. I believe their policy is completely unreasonable and is inconsistent with KOA's pet policy. While I was there, it appeared that the campground was overcrowded and the sites were close together -- not staying there worked out for the best. I would not recommend this campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the best kept campgrounds we have ever stayed at. The restrooms were always clean, well maintained and they were even air conditioned which was appreciated when it was a hot and muggy 90 degrees outside. The staff was great and very helpful. The sites were all clean, well shaded and level. A well stocked store with attached laundry room and game room with hours that were camper friendly. I would go back here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed with a Circle M member but still have to pay $48 for full hookups. Ouch. Would have rated it higher if it wasn't so expensive. There are probably better parks closer to the battlefields. Campground located about 45 minutes from Gettysburg. No way to reserve your site, which is annoying. Spent 30 minutes circling the campground looking for a good site with full hookups. Most of the sites are fairly wide, level and great for big rigs. Didn't see many permanents. Nice large pool and active petting zoo. Mini golf course needs lots of help. Manager visited to deliver a 20-minute presentation on the value of joining Thousand Trails. There was no pressure to join and if we were visiting Gettysburg, we probably could have avoided it. Biggest disappointment: Water pressure was incredibly low, especially on the morning of our last day. Not sure what the problem was, but made showers and check out difficult. $10 reflects Coast to Coast cost. Large 300 site park. No sewer hookup and a $12 charge for a honey wagon. Electric at our site (261) was horrible, always below 110 volts and dropped out of service at least 3 times in 3 days. Trees at site need trimmed. Dogs (big ones) tied outside and allowed to bark in to the night. We did enjoy the area, the pond, the battlefield re-enactment. Also they need more dumpsters, could only locate two areas in the park. Good location. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We chose this CG due to its central location to Gettysburg/Lancaster/Hershey area, and because of its excellent ratings. Although it is a time share type membership, we were not approached to buy into it. In fact, when I attempted to access the main site online, it stated that they were not currently selling in Pa, and the brochure that was given @ check in was for FL, starting @ $1500 for 3 mos. The CG itself is beautiful. When you check in, you are told to drive around, pick an empty site to your liking, and advise the office of your selection. The CG is at least 50% seasonal. It is clean, and the sites are decent sized but somewhat uneven, and the utilities are @ the far back of the site. Most sites are shaded, and Wi-Fi is available for a daily, weekly or monthly fee, which was reasonable. I was put off by the staff, from the first time I called. I was told to call back in 2 weeks, since they don't rent to non members until they know how many members will be utilizing the facilities in a specific time period. When I called back in 2 weeks, I was given the # of a main office in another state. Whoever answered the phone there had to contact this CG to see if the sites were available. It was very unorganized, and took several hrs to finalize. The website advises of a bridge that is out near the CG. WOW! What a MESS! The office stated that it was open to CG traffic. HA! Its non existent, and when I called as we were coming, the lady who answered spoke to me as if I was a total idiot for not being familiar w/ some route that the locals use. When we arrived, she again spoke to me in this manner. My career is to locate homes in a timely manner, as peoples' lives depend on it. Trust me, this detour is confusing, and anyone coming in should be notified when they make reservations. I am so grateful to have full hook up, because the bathrooms near us were a MESS. Muddy, dirty, paper products everywhere, trash overflowing, and no ventilation at all. There is a box fan plugged into an outlet by the sink, not sure how safe that is, and my daughter had to wipe urine off the toilet seat to use it. the store is decent enough, and has very reasonable hand dipped ice cream. There is a petting zoo which was really neat, as well as a few livestock in a fence. I felt really badly for the livestock. They were literally covered in hundreds of flies, and there are measures that can be taken to alleviate this. In conclusion, the CG is decent but could be better with a few improvements which could begin with the office staff learning how to deal with the public. The area surrounding the CG is absolutely gorgeous with rolling farmland. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Rate reflects cost under AOR membership for 30 amp/water site, no sewer. As stated by previous reviewers, full hookup/50 amp sites are reserved for members only but we were informed of that by AOR when we made our reservation so it was not a surprise. Unlike the two prior reviewers, we found this park to be very pleasant and we can see evidence that improvements are still being made. Roads are packed gravel and at least in the areas we encountered along the way to our site, in good shape and easily navigable with our 41' motorhome. Sites are gravel parking areas with grass between. While our site was not perfectly level, we had no trouble getting level using our jacks. Not all sites are the same size, but there are many, including ours, that had plenty of room for our motorhome, slides, awning and tow car. While walking our dogs around the park I didn't notice any sites that seemed terribly out of level although yes, most are not perfectly flat. We had no problems with power or water. Good cell phone and air card reception. Antennae TV reception is only OK. Nice lodge and pool area. Friendly staff and campers. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a membership campground and we stayed here under our Coast to Coast membership. We are full time RV'ers and ask for only a few things in a commercial campground. 1) Electrical hookups that provide 'good' power, 2) level sites and 3) accessible roads. This park met none of our requirements! After checking in and being led to the back of the campground along narrow, treed, and heavily potholed roads we backed into our very unlevel, narrow, downhill sloping site. Plugging into the 30 amp hookups provided us with barely enough power to run one appliance. We called the office and asked for maintenance to stop by to check the power situation. Well, 24 hours later, after 3 more calls and a stop at the office maintenance finally showed up. His explanation was that 'they always have problems with power in this part of the park'. NOT ACCEPTABLE, no matter how much you are paying. The pool and clubhouse are nice. We found the office staff to be friendly but not terribly helpful - I doubt we will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here in 2002 with Coast to Coast and had a good experience. Not this time. It was my fault for not checking the current facilities available with a Coast to Coast site. Apparently, C2C didn't do such a great job of negotiating and C2C members can only get water/electric. We were counting on a full hookup given that we had been boondocking the past several days and planned to be here for a week. They had ONE site for us for the week and, as are many others, it is very unlevel. I have both front wheels off the ground, which I hate doing. When I asked if we could upgrade to a full hookup site for a few days until the weekend and then move back to a water/electric site I was told the full hookups are for members only. Even if they sit empty. The only thing going for us with this stay is the price. So we suck it in and deal with a less than enjoyable stay. I doubt we will return here again. We have a membership at this campground and have stayed there for a week at a time last couple of years. They are constantly improving the campground with membership fees. A lot of the sites are off level and most are all gravel. Water pressure is low, electric is good, our site this year the sewer was uphill. Lots of kids on the weekends and the noise that goes along with it but they are good about maintaining quiet during restricted hours. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here using our RPI membership and the price was great. Also the proximity to the Battlefield & town of Gettysburg. However: (1) we made our reservation with another couple and asked to be put at least close together if possible at the time we made reservation. That didn't happen and apparently once your site is assigned there is no changing it. We asked upon checking in to be together and were told no even though there were empty sites all around each of us for the whole week. (2) The sites are extremely unlevel. We had to use several blocks to get level and even then could only do so by parking with the curbside of the motorhome right at the edge of the site with a huge boulder right next to the door. (3) The power during the week when the park was fairly empty was ok, but on the weekend with more people there we couldn't get any power to speak of. Forget any air conditioning & it got so bad at one point we couldn't even run a fan. We talked to one fellow camper who had no power the whole weekend and begged to be moved but was refused. (4) The staff wasn't as rude as I've seen in some other posts, but they were unfriendly. Even with the membership price we will not stay here again. I would rather pay full price and get a decent spot with friendly staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here using C2C. Unless you are a member of park you won't get 50 amps and no sewer. The site we were assigned was so out of level we could level our motorhome even using blocks under rear wheel and jacks. We asked office to move and both sites they said we could move to were just as bad as the original. The others would have required navigating a narrow road with trees close to road a several tight turns that would have been difficult for a 40 foot MH. They also have placed a lot of large rocks close to the roads. Many rocks don't seem to be there for any other reason other than damaging RV's as many had paint on them from being hit. Only about 1/3 of the sites have sewer & cable and they are reserved for members. We were invited for to look at the campground and listen to a 2 hour presentation - there was no pressure to buy a membership. We we said no - it was over - enjoy your stay. They had a Civil War re-enactment going on all weekend that was very interesting. The bathrooms were individual shower, sink and toilets and very clean. The small pond is catch and release - no fun for someone that likes fish. Sites and roads were stone - not too much dust. They have a very few golf carts reserved for members. A member next to us was going to move to a site with sewer and cable when it was available in 2 days. The rental cabins are beautiful with all the goodies. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I agree with the other person who rated this campground a poor average. We came to this campground as a middle point stop to Lancaster co. Rude staff members. We made a reservation in advance and when we got there they said we had no reservation. So we could not get our site we wanted. Instead we were placed in a small site in the back of the campground next to a junk pile of rusted old rv's. They said the pool would be open till 10pm, it closed early at around 8:15. We were met by a friendly, helpful crew at check-in. We were escorted to our site and were pleased with the size of the lot. The interior roads were a bit rugged in spots but mostly level and smooth. This is a members only camping resort. The resort is very nice, bathrooms very clean, very friendly people, staff and campers. The pool was very nice, it was very humid when we were there. Check in was okay. The two young girls there were snots! Very rude to say the least. Most all the sites are not maintained. The park allowed a day care to bring 3 van loads full of young children (below kindergarten age) to come into the pool. NON MEMBERS. Needless to say none of the children had on swim pants and there were accidents in the pool. They did not close the pool but just dipped out the bad stuff and left the pool open till the next day. Then they decided to keep the pool closed on the hottest days of the year! 105 plus temps. They say they have a filter problem. The showerhouse at the lodge/pool area was not clean, it really stunk bad like a dump station that was left open! My wife could not go into those bathrooms. We think this park could be nice if management would step up a little. It is going downhill. Needs a lot of work and need friendly staff for a change. Do not expect the young girls at the front desk to be nice, nor answer your questions. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Gettysburg Battlefield Resort is a total waste of money! They give one heck of a sales pitch. When you join they are good friends. After you stay a time or two things REALLY change. Thats when they start changing rules. If you read the fine fine print, they are allowed to change rules at anytime without NOTICE to you. The girls at the check-in/campstore are RUDE. My wife and I are older folks and the young girls do not want to take time with us. Only one is nice the other younger girls will not take the time to help you or answer your questions. One time we went in and asked for a certain site, the girl said it was reserved, then we looked around the campstore.. another couple came in and got the EXACT site we wanted, WITHOUT reservations!!! We were so mad. They only keep their good cabins and good sites for their friends or well known buddies. The pull though sites are mostly all mud. The lodge and pool is supposed to stay open till 10pm every night unless there is storms where they need to close the pool. We understand that. After driving several hours to get to the resort we wanted to go swimming. It was a little after 8pm and a man came into the pool and said " Time to leave, closing time!". We asked why cause such nice weather and he said "it has been a long day and I want to get back to my trailer". We paid over $6000 to use this resort.. Thats right SIX THOUSAND dollars! To get treated like this! We have tried complaining to the head guys in the Sales and Management office but they said if we keep complaining they can yank our membership away! Come to find out the PEOPLE they like can apply for a BETTER membership that cost only $3000 more! We wondered why we could NEVER get reservations even calling up to our allowed 60 days in advance. With the Ambasider membership you can reserve as far ahead as you want and they cater to you. We think this is just terrible. We were also told that when we joined the park could always accommodate us, NOPE -- NOT the case. We were turned away one time after driving 3 hours with our trailer we had to go to a nearby public campground and pay $48 a night! Oh.. thats right another thing we almost forgot is the annoying golf carts allowed. Most are old models and they stink to high heaven. Another thing that is bad is they say you can only stay 14 days. For their FRIENDS you can stay as long as you like, we have been there for the last few months to drive though and seen a trailer up on blocks that has been there for months! These people are not employees. We got taken by our membership. This is a fair warning to those who are thinking about this place. SAVE YOUR MONEY and go to DRUMMER BOY. It is worth the money and the facilities are so much better, not to mention the workers there are nice. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Transient pull through sites with full hook up are limited in number. The nicer sites under the trees are just W/E. Site was a little small, but we fit in OK. The fiver behind us was within inches of our slide. When this area is full, lots of tow vehicles at the road edge makes hitching and unhitching a little tricky. Also, I did not care for the staggered orientation of the campsites, which caused us to be staring directly at our neighbor's "front yard" anytime we wanted to be outside. The site was predominately gravel and level, but not conducive to being outside. The staff was very helpful, and check in was easy. The grounds are well maintained, and there were adequate activities for the kids. This is an older park, that could use some updating, but it is very convenient to Gettysburg, and it is well cared for. The stream is fun for the kids, and my son caught a bass. I wouldn't come here as a destination campground or for relaxation, but as far as CGs go as a base of operations, I would not hesitate to stay here again when we come back to Gettysburg again. This is a lovely park. 6 of us: grandparents, parents and 2 boys enjoyed our stay here. It is close to everything we wanted to do. The site was spacious with water, electric and 3 spaces from the bath house. Exceptionally clean bathrooms. Someone was cleaning them in the evening and again in the early morning and at 1 pm. Laundry room was spacious, clean and had an adequate number of washers and dryers. Grandsons liked the dance the evening we were here. Nice playground for lots of kids. This is a winner. Would stay here again to visit Gettysburg sites. This was Bike Week and many of the bikers were in this park. They were very nice to be around. Some had brought campers and toy haulers, while others had tents. The boys enjoyed seeing so many motorcycles around. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here for the Gettysburg reinactments over the fourth of July weekend. Park was very close to the reinactments as well as historical Gettysburg park. Our site was a premium along the stream. Many large trees made this site excellent for shade! Some people with large rigs had some trouble however. We did not with our 25 ft travel trailer. Even had room for an 8 person tent for the kids and a doggie pen, with still plenty of room! Site very roomy, level, and all rock with a tiny patch of grass. Would have preferred more grass. Campground was clean. Restrooms clean, pool clean. Staff very pleasant. Was given opportunity to reserve our same spot for next fourth of July weekend before they made it available to anyone, which was nice. We decided not to reserve as we might want to go elsewhere next fourth. We will be back however as this is a great park and one weekend is not enough to see all of or appreciate historical Gettysburg! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was our second stay here and we loved it. Robert, campground owner, was on hand for the entire weekend and was really a great guy to talk to. Bathrooms, pool, recreation hall and the sites were all kept very clean. Water/electric sites towards the back are on some pretty narrow roads, but certainly reachable with caution and common sense, some of the pull thru hook-ups are out in the open but plenty big enough, lots of full hookup sites with shade. They had lots of events for the kids and as in other reviews, the staff was more than friendly. Very close to all the Gettysburg attractions. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Easy check in, very friendly staff, the wooded section of this CG is beautiful. Bathhouse was clean but slightly dated. 4th of July weekend has become our annual trip to camp in Gettysburg. This was our first year going to this campground. Booked back in Nov. and was lucky to get a site on the creek. It was an awesome view: a nice little creek with woods to look at. Made my weekend. Kids enjoyed the activities and the pool was nice. Store has a little snack shop and ice cream. Good location to Gettysburg and the sites. Staff were all friendly including security. We really enjoyed the feel of this campground. Only issue, they need more showers. This is the second time I have stayed at this park. The park is really nice and the staff friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were clean and in good repair. We used the cable TV hookup and got 8 channels. The grounds were clean and well cared for. One delightful surprise was a large number of fireflies in the evening. We stayed here for three nights in early May. We found this to be a wonderful campground run by very nice and friendly people. We stopped by in January and spoke to the owner who gave us a tour of the place a helped us pick out a sight that would be best for us. Our site was next to the creek, a few dollars more but well worth it. Very close to the battlefield and visitor's center. Sites were level and shaded. Nice store with a well rounded inventory. This is a very nice park, if a little congested. Some of the sites are spacious (along stream) but others are really packed in. The staff was nice and my husband had a nice chat with the owner. We arrived after 6 and check-in was a bit backed up but very pleasant ladies behind the counter with a wealth of information. The road to our site, bit narrow but certainly doable and our site was great. Overall the campground was very clean and employees were very nice. The people working here are very friendly, so I hate to say we wouldn't stay here again, but we probably wouldn't. While the campground could be pleasant enough, the sites are just too close together. When our neighbors sat outside they were at most 3 feet from our bedroom window. Cable TV is $2 extra a night which was kind of irritating. Wi-Fi was free and worked well. The rate we paid was a 20% discount for camper appreciation weekend. This is a nice park, staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Roadway in is blacktop, the rest of the campground is stone. Lots of trees, which could make it a little difficult to back into a site. We had site #19, which is a back in. Most of the back ins are pretty short, cant park the truck in front of the camper, but plenty of room to park beside the camper. Wi-Fi is free and works fine, cable is $2.00 extra per night. Water and electric are fine even with the campground being almost full over the weekend. Campground is a little away from the battlefield, but we would definitely stay here again. This is a very large camp ground, and if you have children, this is the place to be. The security is very good. The sites were clean and shaded. The staff was very nice and helpful. The park is close to everything you would want to do Gettysburg and the surrounding area. We even took a day trip to Washington DC. It was a long drive into Maryland to take the metro to DC, but well worth the trip. They have chartered bus tours as well, if you would rather let someone else do the driving. The down side was that the Wi-Fi was not very good, so if you depend on a computer, this would be a problem. If you like cable TV: the channel selection is very limited. Over all it was a nice stay,and we would stay again if we pass through Gettysburg someday. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Most sites are heavily wooded, many at odd angles; pull through sites back-to-back = very, very close to neighbor on the back side of rig, but sufficient room on the front - you could be facing a nasty neighbor! clean restrooms, but insufficient # of showers for such a large campground; pull thru sites have no shade; wooded sites useless for satellite tv; very, very limited cable stations (only 16!) for an extra fee. Overall, a decent campground made better by the quality of the staff and friendliness of the seasonal campers. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was our first trailer camping experience, and we had a fairly good time; we visited Gettysburg sites and ate in town mostly. We wanted to get to know our camper. A camping neighbor helped us out when we had a little trouble, very friendly people! Our site was pretty close to everyone, not too much privacy or shade. Our trailers were facing, with our tables about 15 feet apart, fire pits less than that, and their Saturday night guests becoming ours. I had made a reservation online a couple weeks before. Now that I have been a few places, the restrooms were okay, but had quite a few ants. I wasn't motivated to use the shower, but my husband did without issue. We didn't attend any social activities, but they have them. There was a Civil War reenactment at the campground that weekend. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in a pull thru site for five days in June, 2009. The sites face each other. No privacy at all. Our fire ring was 34 inches from our neighbors. Not a good set up if you want a little space for yourself. Cable TV was an extra charge.I thought it was overpriced for what you got, which is basically a place to park. Not the worst we have seen but this place is nothing special in my opinion.Kids complained about the playground because it is all metal and was too hot during the day to play on. Stayed here for 4 nights. Cable TV has just gone in. Channels are limited. Apparently it will cost $2 per night when fully operational. Free wifi signal is strong, at least in the front of the campground, but we used our Verizon BB. You need to get a password in the office to use the WiFi. Nice, level gravel sites with good drainage. Most sites are well shaded, but there are some out in the full sun. Very convenient for visiting the Gettysburg Battlefield and other local attractions. Price is reasonable for the area. Discount is offered for AAA and AARP. Bath house is older but very clean and usable. Men's and women's both have 3 showers. Pets are welcome. There is a large playground. There are activities on Saturday in a gorgeous activities building, and they have a youth director on staff. Noise from the road is no issue at all with the exception of big trucks using Jake brakes. Clearly the owners are investing in their business. We plan to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were on site #58 which was on Marsh Creek and had a cement pad patio. The staff was friendly, helpful and made you feel right at home. Tours to the battlefields are available right from the campground. Car rentals will even come to "Pick you up" if you decide to rent a car. The gift shop is great, better prices then downtown! We appreciated the staff suggesting our 8 year old put her helmet on when she was riding her bicycle (not in a pushy, but kind way). This is a very well run campground. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There are some sites right along the stream/river. Some of the pull through sites are a little tight. There are some seasonal campers but they are not the majority. We were there at the beginning of the season (first week in April) and it was about half full. This is a very good park. The sites are big enough for large RVs especially in the sun deck area which are full hook up and have a concrete patio at each site. Many sites are located in the woods, and from the looks, some might be a challenge for a larger RV but would definitely be shaded in the summertime. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Of course this and other area campgrounds are here for use during touring the battlefield, and it is in an ideal location; far enough away to avoid the crowds but still close enough to quickly get to the battlefield. Incidentally the newly opened visitors center is almost worth the trip by itself. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Still an A+++++ campground but they have now completed their mini golf which is great, we used the pool which was very clean. After the jello eating contest I think the pool was a good idea:) We booked for Labor Day next year already and we are really looking forward to our Halloween camping weekend. They have a movie room which was only supposed to be open until 10 PM but they kept it open for the die-hard NASCAR fans to watch the race. Thank you. Mr Adams and his family are wonderful people and even on their busiest days do everything they can to help you. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful both on the phone making reservations, and in person at the campground. We were allowed to look at all of the available sites when we arrived and choose the one we liked. Our site (#46) was a shaded pull-through with full hook ups, was level, and allowed easy access. Completely unshaded sites, referred to as the "sun deck", were available, but we were glad to be in the shade in the 95 plus degree heat and high humidity. The campground store was organized and well-stocked with the basics in addition to souvenirs. We didn't get a chance to try it, but they do offer hand-dipped ice cream in a small cafe-style seating area next to the store. The campground is only minutes from downtown Gettysburg and all of the Civil War history you care to take in. Our overall experience here was very good and the campground offered some nice amenities such as a clean pool, putt-putt-golf, and a playground. Our 3.5 year old greatly enjoyed the pool. We would absolutely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is fantastic and the owners went out of their way to accommodate their campers. We loved this campsite so much that we went two weekends in a row and have already booked for October. There are so many different activities planned each weekend that you don't have to leave the grounds. We went on kids weekend and our children loved it, from the ceramics to "Bobs critters" a great time was had by all. During one of our nights there we had an awful storm and the Adams family opened the recreation center for a group of Marines who were camping in the primitive area. This is my second stay here in 18 months. My first stay was soon after the new owner started. Glad to see not much has changed since my last stay. The owner is very helpful and friendly, along with the staff. They truly want to make sure your stay with them and around Gettysburg is enjoyable. New to the campground is a cafe open in the summer for breakfast and lunch. Sites are all gravel and fairly level. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

My family and I camped here on the stream. I don't think you can find a more friendly staff then at this campground. The owners are very accessable (unlike other campgrounds) and will do what they can to help with anything you need. The campground is just a fun place to take the family. The owner let us watch the "Ravens" game in the in the big screen room. If your looking for a place to relax, slow down and not worry about the kids playing out of your sight, this is the place to go. We went here with a family that we camp with alot, now we have six families camping here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice campground. The registration staff were very friendly and helpful. This RV park is well maintained and clean. The roads were graveled and level. The playground was very big and well attended. The swimming pool was fairly big for a campground. The free WiFi worked very well. My only complaint was it was slightly noisy on Saturday night, but what can you expect as there was a car show and sock hop taking place. If they had cable TV it would be exceptional. We had always visited Gettysburg, but in hotel rooms. Decided to camp last year for a week. This place was pretty nice, but we had no heads up that we were camping during bike week. (We're not bikers) Nothing against bike week, but that's not what we went there to see. Sites were uneven, and the hook-ups were not centralized. Water way over there, sewer way over here, and the electric all the way over there. So bring lots of hose and extensions and leveling equipment. Pool was nice and there was plenty to do. Loved the miniature golf. There was a beautiful Herron in the pond every morning. The store was above average, could use more camping implements though. If you stay here in the summer, the produce market across the street is a must. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We really liked this park. We had a site on the creek which was large, shaded and peaceful. They have an area that is open and sunny but we prefer to camp in the woods. The sites directly on the creek vary in size and not all have full hookups. All sites on the creek side of the campground are shaded. We had a water/electric site that was very nice. It was not a problem because they have two very nice pump outs. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The store is well stocked. There is a large playground, pool, miniature golf and shuffle board. We are older, have no kids, but like to walk our dog. The dog area was not too far away from our campsite. There are roped off pass thru walkways in different areas that run right next to some campsites and several campsites back right up to the bath house. We would not like all the foot traffic that close to our site but I guess it's a good way to meet people. If that sort of thing bothers you then check the campground map and avoid those sites. Most site are average size, some are large and a few are very small so be sure to give the correct size of your rig so they can get you into a suitable site. There are no tv hookups so we had to depend on our antenna. Reception was bad and we were only able to tune in one station but then we were not there to watch tv. We enjoyed this park and plan to return often. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a really nice park, even for one so large. The grounds, sites, facilities were very clean and well maintained. The pool was cleaned twice daily as it was really hot and everyone was using the pool. Owner/mgr very friendly and helpful. The store was large, well stocked with many selections and included an ice cream stand. Also air conditioned. This is one of the best parks we've ever stayed in. Definitely will go back if we find ourselves in Gettysburg area again. Forget the "on site RV repair" - not part of the campground although on campus, but doesn't return a phone call in my 3-day stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is wonderful. The owners and staff were very nice and helpful. We had site 208, back near the stream and the kids loved it. The pool was clean and the playground was nice. My kids loved the shuffleboard. The seasonal campers were also friendly and helpful. There is an RV repair place on the grounds if you have any problems. We will most definitely be back. This park has really come into its own and become one of our favorites. The owners try their best to please everyone. This past weekend they opened the rec room with the large TV so we could watch the Preakness. The place is spotless, the rest rooms are always in order, and I have no idea why the previous poster would say there was dried blood on the pool deck. I swim in the pool with my 11 and 8 year old and it is very well cared for and safe. Quiet time is tactfully enforced. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is the first time we were here. We had a water front campsite and it was beautiful. The owners were very friendly and went out of there way for us. The campground looked very clean. We stayed here to visit the Colorfest in Thurmont Maryland. This was our 1st time in this campground and my wife an I enjoyed the stay - it was quite relaxing. They had a number of activities during the weekend and announced them over a PA system. Not surprising, most were geared to the younger campers. We made reservations late so were unable to secure a site with sewer - their dump stations were well situated and easy to use on way out of campground. The sites were in trees and level. We did have to buy an additional hose and extension cord because of where the connections were. We had unpacked extras just before this trip - make sure you take extra hose/extension cord. The have free WiFi - nice touch. recommended! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Overall we really enjoyed our visit. We had site #116 w/W & E, which was very close to the cute cabins and also the "Sun Deck" where many big rigs stay (including my in-laws). We had a pretty long walk to the restrooms -- I can't imagine for the tent sites. Although we liked our shady level site, we decided that next time we try for a creekside site. Very lovely. The bathhouse toilet stalls were small, but were relatively clean. The store and ice cream parlor were very nice, and we really enjoyed the bingo activities and pool. We did not have a very enjoyable time at this campground , as a matter of fact we left 2 days before we were supposed to. After driving 3 1/2 hours home I figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to the campground "may" have overbooked and not had enough staff to keep things cleaned up. The bathrooms were disgusting , there was mold on the shower curtains , and toilet paper piled around the toilet. The campsites seemed to be small, almost like they tried to get 2 spots out of what normally is 1. I was also told by my fiance that there was dried blood near the swimming area (she worked in an e.r. so she knows what dried blood looks like) I can only hope that this was a "off" day for this campground and that no one else would have to go through the same thing. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Owner and staff check the grounds frequently and stop to talk to see how things are going. Although we didn't hear the commotion, the owner did ask one unit of campers to leave because they were being very rowdy after quiet time. Some sites did not seem to be very level. The tent area is very nice, but a long walk to the bath house. Chemical toilets are nearby. Only reason for not giving a 10 is that we had trouble getting into our spot. The nice man across from us moved his truck so we could use part of his space to back in (trees were in the way). Once we were parked the front of our trailer was only a foot off the road, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to open our awning due to the electric pole, but we had lots of room behind our camper for our campfire. Sites are very close to your neighbors. The pool is nice; the owner checks to make sure kids under 14 are w/ an adult. Nice playground, volleyball court, softball field and putt putt. Activities all weekend long provided fun entertainment for all ages. $36 fee for electric and water only. We will definitely camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Granted, we lucked into one of the sites right on the creek. Very quiet, all we could hear were the birds chirping and the fish jumping. First off, the nightly rate I listed is for a full-hook campsite. We stayed in a full-service cottage which cost $100.00 a night and everything was provided for you except pillows, blankets linens and towels...pots and pans, silverware, coffee maker, toaster everything was there for your use. There was a full size bed in the great room and two sets of bunks in the private room. It had a bathroom with shower and it was air conditioned plus had a ceiling fan and light. It also had a large size covered front porch with Adirondack chairs to sit in. We arrived at this campground approximately 2 hours before check in and they had no problem allowing us to go to our site without charging us an early check in. We were staying in one of two of their cottages, which turned out to be great, because the entire week we were there it was 90 plus degrees, high humidity and the air conditioning was a blessing! I would have given this campground a 10, but the only problem I had was cleaning up black ant carcasses a few times a day in the cottage. The management had told me that they were aware of an infestation of black ants and had exterminators spray and that did work, the only problem was they decided to come out into the middle of the great room's floor and die, lol. But, at least I can say they were aware of the problem and did something about it. The campground itself, has a large amount of open sites and shaded sites so you have your pick and for the most part from what I saw they were spacious and they also have a secluded primitive tenting area as well, but you can also tent in practically any site you wish if you don't like the primitive area. You can also have a site along Marsh Creek where you can fish (PA fishing license required)or you can have a site closer to the pool. They have a movie every evening and also have mini golf, shuffle board, horseshoes, sand volleyball court, a game room and a playground for the times when you need something to do when you're not visiting Gettysburg, which is only 3 miles away. They also have planned activities for the weekends. They also have a nice little camp store and an ice cream parlor. I would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a .

This is a nice family campground. We camped here in a fifth-wheel for 8 days in 2004 and again in 2005, with grandchildren both times. There is enough here to keep the kids content and busy. There are also special events and activities for both young and old. Park management is very helpful, and facilities are in good condition. The park was not full when we camped in June, but it might be pretty crowded when there are special events going on in Gettysburg. We hope to return again next June. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful campground, lots of nice shaded areas and well maintained grounds. The showers were clean and hot water was not a problem. Staff were very helpful. We made reservations the night before and arrived after office hours. Staff had a map waiting for us with directions to our site. This is a hilly area and site was not very level, but we managed to level out. We did see other sites which may have been more level. Stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend. Lots of green areas and multiple playgrounds which kept the kids happy all weekend. However, we were very disappointed with the number of restroom, the cleanliness (or should I say cleanliless) of the restrooms and showers, and the lack of any hot water in the showers. We were also upset that they charge an internet fee regardless of use, and then it is only available in a small area by the office. The campground has potential to be nice but we will not return. This is a large campground that is very busy on weekends. However, it is well-maintained and very kid and dog friendly. The full hook-up, pull through sites that can accommodate big rigs are near the front of the park and relatively close together. The main reason I did not give this a higher rating was that the 50 amp service to our site (B-1)was faulty, and I had to work with the campground maintenance staff to show them that one leg of the 50-amp disconnect was seriously under-voltage. Thank goodness for our hard-wired power monitoring system. Overall a good jumping-off point for seeing the sites of Gettysburg. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Their website said they had Wi-Fi internet at each site. According to 2 employees, they did not know that the internet was not working. A third said it has never worked since it was installed last year. The party in the site next to mine said the Wi-Fi had not worked for the week he had been there. When I made my reservation the day before we arrived, I was assured that they had Wi-Fi at each site and it was working. Also, the B section was very rough and uneven. I did not see a site that was anywhere near level. I would not recommend this camp to anyone. We stayed 2 nights. This is one of the worst campgrounds I have stayed in due to lack of Wi-Fi, uneven campsites and employees who appear to be lying. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My family stayed here over the Labor Day weekend. We were in the "Post" sites with sewer and the sites were much too tight for our liking. Also, all of the hookups were in odd places-our 25' electrical cord wasn't long enough. Not that this campground doesn't have large, beautiful sites, they do in the "B" section-which all also had cable as well. Camp store seemed to be well stocked, nice activity schedule, mini golf, 2 nice ponds, very quiet during "quiet" hours and lots and lots to do nearby in Gettysburg which is 5 miles from the entrance. This is a park in which you can stay longer than a weekend and still have plenty to do. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here over a weekend before summer vacation started, with our 2 small children. We liked our site #B30, it was wooded and semi-private. Nice space between sites. The campground was a hit with our small children, they enjoyed the pool, paddle boats, mini-golf, and the 3 different playground areas. It was a bit of a walk from our site to the pool and play areas. The game room is small. This is a great campground and we had a great spot (#81). We drove around and looked at the other campgrounds in Gettysburg and we felt Granite Hill was by far the very best. The staff was nice and facilities were clean. A great deal of grassy space for kids to run around and space between campers. The park seems a little more like a park than a trailer park. It is an older facility but again, it does not feel like a trailer park. It is very shaded and wooded in many areas. We highly recommend it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice place if you like camping in the 'city' with hundreds of other people. It's a great family/kids park and one with a sense of 'community.' There's so much to do here, the kids will never get bored. And it seems very well guarded and safe. We were put in the overflow area because it was completely full. Overflow was a much better place, because we had a huge field away from the crowds and almost to ourselves. The pricing, though, is beyond ridiculous. $32/night, plus $8/night per extra person, $5 for any one who comes up for the day; and that's for tent/dry camping; and you pay for all three nights (holiday weekend) regardless if you're staying one or 3. But, if you're a family, you get a lot for the fee. They had older showers that only ran when you hold the valve on. A newer shower building was nice and clean, but pretty small. I rate it high because, while it's high-priced, it really is a very nice family park if you like camping in the 'city.' We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent Memorial Day weekend here in 2007 and had SO much fun that we returned for July 4th. The staff was friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and helpful. The grounds were well kept and maintained. The facilities were clean and plentiful. Everything about Gettysburg is close enough to be convenient yet far enough away to keep the grounds quiet. The two weekends we were here they were very full, yet we never felt squeezed in. There were plenty of activities if you stayed on site and the area around Gettysburg is bustling with fun and historical things to do. We have three children from 12 to 16 years old and they had a great time, as did the adults. We will be back many more times, for sure. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived after dark, check in was rather arduous. We were given a map and away we went to find our site. Sites were difficult to find numerous rigs wandering around trying to find their sites. Our site was nice and we had a good time overall. With the abudance of other campgrounds in the area I think we will try somewhere else next time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The section I was in was so unlevel that there was no way you could level a motor home. They seemed to have lots of activities on the weekend. I had 50 amp service, cable but no sewer. The office staff were not overly friendly. They did have a huge field that I could take the dogs to run. I don't think I would stay here again unless nothing else was available. We stayed for a weekend in September for the Pet Lovers Weekend, which consisted of one woman with her dog providing advice based on her self- taught knowledge. Some of the play equipment is extremely rusty and old which stained my daughter's clothes. There were other playgrounds that were newer. The mini golf was very expensive and the course was not very well kept. The office employees were not as friendly as they could have been, but I wouldn't say they were rude. Overall it wasn't an extremely positive experience, but it wasn't the worst campground either. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not a bad place to base out of to see the fantastic sights of nearby Gettysburg. The pool was very crowded and looked cloudy (it was the 4th of July weekend) and the game room was very limited. They had a DJ one night but other than that not much else in the way of activities. Site we had (B2) was a pull thru and spacious. Had a good view and plenty of breeze. The park is very easy on the eyes - nice fields and well kept with the exception of the play areas which needed attention. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Camped in our new 5th wheel. Staff was very helpful. We called in advance to change our site and had no problems. Site were almost level and gravel. Lower bath houses had problems. Need to be updated. Will be going back later this year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We arrived on a Friday 3 hours prior to check in and they did not charge any extra. The site was very spacious #94. There were 4 playgrounds, 2 which were new the kids loved the huge ship and castle. The pool was smaller then it looked in the pictures. They run a day camp during the week and the pool was cloudy. The staff was friendly. We rented the kayaks and paddle boats which cost $4 per half an hour. My 3 kids went back and forth between the kayaks and paddle boats. The girl working that section was very nice she played and joked around with my kids. She even let us have extra time. The golf course was also really nice. The only complaint we really have is that all the dumpsters were overflowing by Sunday morning. There were bags of trash on the ground around them. The CG wasn't full so I can't imagine how much trash would be piled up on a really busy weekend. There were not as many kids at this CG compared to the ones we usually go to. It was a lot of older people and it was very quiet. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were lucky to park across for a small group of inconsiderate drunks. They brought their Pit Bulls and chained them to the back side of there campers, so they did not have to cleanup after them. The campground management did not care, that one couple had to exit their motorhome with a hammer in their hand. The staff was not very friendly! Please do not show up 10 minutes before check in time. For if your not a regular, they will charge to an additional day charge. This will be our last stay at this Campground.. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We just got back from their Easter weekend and I have to say that I was not impressed at all. There were only two real Easter activities, a craft session and egg hunt. That was pretty much it. I have to say that my main problem with this campground has to be the lack of any kind of updates to the buildings and playgrounds. Everything was old and dilapidated. The playground was half falling apart and looked as if it was there since the 1970s. The lime green paint was peeling off all the equipment and inside the tube on the slide was all kinds of graphic graffiti. Luckily my 4 year old daughter cant read yet but I guarantee there were some older kids who did get an eye full going down the slide. In my opinion there is no excuse for that. This is a playground for children and I feel that the campground has a responsibility to clean off those type of foul words where children are playing. It looked as though this graffiti had been there a while. On the positive side, the bathrooms were clean and looked to be somewhat updated and the staff was friendly. The camp store stocked most things you might forget, although charged you an arm and a leg for almost everything. The snack bar was nice and offered ice cream and other treats. The game room was pretty skimpy with only three video games, one skee ball game and a pool table. Not much of a game room! Since it was April, the pool was closed but seemed very small with the number of camp sites they offer. I can imagine the pool gets very crowded during the summer months. When we go back to Gettysburg, well definitely stay somewhere else. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We called Granite Hill just before the busy Apple Fest weekend because we discovered after arriving that the state park we planned to stay at prohibits all pets (no dogs, no cats, no hamsters, birds or any other caged animals) and while the Granite Hill staff was very helpful and pleasant on the phone the site that was assigned us was completely unsuitable for our RV. We only have a 30 ft class A but the space (B18) sloped severely from side to side and dropped off steeply in the front, the useful area was not nearly big enough for us. B18 also had a tree with very low branches that encroached on the site. Perhaps a pop-up could use that space but not without a serious leveling effort. We asked for another site and they had one more option for us. This site did not have a tree but seemed short and had a significant slope from side to side. We appreciated the fact that were given a refund with no problem when we opted not to stay. Granite Hills looks like a very nice park but even small motorhomes might want to be cautious of sites B11 through B18. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Arrvived after dafrk in motorhome. Staff would not show the way to campsite. Map was provided. Very dark conditions. Camp sign for site locations not lit up - very difficult to read, low hanging branches, site numbers on utility stand in middle of very large and nice sites. Impossible to see numbers in the dark. Driving around hit a truck that was just over the lot into the street. No real damage to truck but ruined a side section of my motorhome. When I expressed my situation to the ladies at the desk, I got no reaction other than "we usually do not escort people to the sites". Very nice couple who run the snack bar. Lake had so much pollen/scum on surface that was uninviting to take out paddleboats. Good recreational activities. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here to check out the campground to use for our annual rally. We planned on having about 40 units for the rally. When we made reservations we told the campground that we needed tow sites right next to each other. Of course this was "no problem". When we arrived we were told to "hold" the site next to use for our travelling companions who would be arriving soon. In a short time a big oversized bus tries to pull into the site that we were told to "hold" They got security involved and we found out that there were not even assigned sites, but rather something they called "poles" which were for four sites. The security man told us that is was just too bad and we could move to another pole and then be near our travelling companions. The front office was no help at all, a phone call after the event to the owners was not followed up on. Needless to say, we did NOT have our rally at this campground. I also found out that all of the campgrounds in the Gettysburg area charge a 10% occupancy tax in addition to the high priced camping fees. I will never stay at this campground again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Staff was friendly and somewhat helpful. We stayed at this campground 10 years ago and since then, this place has gone down hill. Restrooms were filthy and disgusting, along with not enough bathrooms at campground,and showers did not work or were clogged all three days. Trash cans were not emptied regulary. Rec. room was run down and most games broken. Very little for kids to do other than the pool. Will not be going back again until some heavy duty renovation is done. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

I had to camcel my 4th of July reservations. I called on April 24th, it is now June 15th and I still have not received my money! I have contacted them several times and I get a different story every time. They said they were going to file harassment charges against me, and if I step foot on their property, I will be arrested for tresspassing. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Needed some maintenance and a good spring cleaning. New electric hookup mounted on a tree, rusty old hookup beside tree. Electric lines zig zagged overhead. Sewer hookup covered with a rock. Rusty pipe sticking up in the ground. Site hard to back into because of closeness of sites across road. Computer system could only handle 1 person at a time for check-in and store purchases. The lots were fairly level and graveled, but covered in tree debris. Pleanty of activities for youngsters. They had bingo on Friday and a DJ on Saturday. About 20 minutes from downtown Getteysburg. Directions from US 15 from Washington DC are missing the Rt 140 turnoff which connects you to PA RT 16. Will probably not return this season. Maybe next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If I could give this a minus # it would still be too much. The office people were horrible to us. Treated us like intruders. There were four families and we were given the most awful sites, exposed excavation, open holes, wires sticking out just to mention a few of the obstacles. They locked up tight on Easter(YES,THATS RIGHT, CLOSED UP) with no one in charge or any activity available. We were warned not to use the lake(?). My daughter never got her Good Sam discount. Complained to Good Sam but nothing was done. The office personnel at the campground told her that if she didn't like it she could turn around and go home. So much for hospitality after traveling almost 4 hours with 3 small children. The place is old and I'm still not sure why they run this place if they hate people so much. Campers beware - stay somewhere else. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent park with great wooded and non-wooded sites. Leveling Blocks may be required
for some hilly spots. Lots have plenty of space and the wooded areas are unique. Tractor is available to help negotiate large trailers and rigs into tree areas. Staff is friendly and cares about their guests with extra activities for kids and families. Clean private showers are separate from the clean bathroom area. GREAT park, they go the extra mile to make their campers happy! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We stayed here over July 4 weekend so it was busy but that did not have any effect on the issues that I had with this campground. First, the showers were freezing cold. We tried using them at different times and they were always cold. Not a drop of hot water in the men's or women's bathroom. Also, there aren't enough bathrooms in this campground. We stayed in a travel trailer and the closest bathroom was a far walk. It was easier to drive to the bathrooms. Our site was also very difficult to pull into as we had small trees lining the site. Campsites are small and close together. We will not be staying here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The campground is ok. There are a very large number of seasonals and some of them were not very friendly. The sites are very tight but that seems to be a common issue with a lot of campgrounds. Just hope you have a friendly neighbor because you are in their living room most of the stay. The bathrooms were decent and fairly clean. The pool was great and so was the playground for the kids. The site was level but tailed off pretty well in the back. This created problems for me since my stabilizers are clear in the back and I have to put a lot of blocking under them to set them. The sewer connection stuck out of the ground quite a bit and since mine sits low it was a bit of a problem. You had to pay for wifi and we did not have cable but you did get about 12 stations over the air. I wanted to be closer to the battlefield but we were not all that far ~3mi but it made it impossible to ride bikes up to it. The staff was friendly and we had no problems there. If we do go back we will probably try to stay somewhere closer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

First I would like to say my rating was not for the condition of the campground as it is very well maintained. I would give the condition a nine. My rating is for the discomfort I experienced during our stay. Because we could not stay at the campground we wanted, we opted to stay here as they had openings, so I broke my number one rule. Never stay at a campground that has cabins mixed in with the campsites? I have found that for the most part the people that use these cabins are only here to party and have no respect (camper etiquette) for their neighbors? Our cabin Neighbors were going to a monster truck rally and thought we were entitled to a demo at the campground? If you like large diesel trucks coming and going all night, it would have been great? There were also large campfires, stoked with whole wooden pallets. We experienced noxious fumes from many fires burning who knows what? The dog on leash law was not heeded as most of the seasonal campers and cabin people have never read the rules, a huge Rotweiler attacked my Goldens and was only called back at the last minute. I reported this and the truck problem to the office, only to be blown off? The traffic noise from 15 is also a little loud if you stay in the 200 series campsites. Of course these are the ones left open for the transients as the seasonals campers have taken the good ones away from the noise? If you go, (I probably won't again) be ready for rude cabin people and also seasonal campers who ignore you and the rules? We had stayed here many years ago with a club and had used the pull throughs up by the office. They seemed fine at the time, and may be less noisier, but the entrance and exit roads surround you on these sites, front and back. Also, when making reservations, make sure you include any coupons as they are not valid later, and be prepared for them to take your full amount out if using plastic. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is for the most part very clean and has most of its roads paved. There was a lot of seasonal campers there as well as cabin and park models. Some of the sites are on a higher level and look down on other sites. The road noise from Route 15 from site 197 was constant. Even with the air conditioning on you can hear trucks and cars on it. They have a strict pet policy, not more than two dogs and NO outside cages. Just behind our site the person had a dog cage about 4 foot by 12 foot and 4 dogs. There were a LOT of seasonal campers there, obvious by porches, sheds, etc. on sites. I recommend you park and go look at your site before paying if there more than a day or two. It was a convenient campground for visiting Gettysburg and I would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our 3rd stay, the first 2 were wonderful, this one can't say that. Office personel were nice. Must have been shorthanded, because they did not have all the activities they had scheduled. the Baby pool was closed for 2 of the days. the snack bar and store closed early.Karoke was ove an hour late and didnt play any longer. most the time kids sang. Our site was small, and the person next to us...was right at our camper door, we did not reserve for next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

For an older campground I think this is the best in the area. I have seen most of the other campgrounds in Gettysburg and this is the most relaxing..... No fast golf carts, and not over crowded.. Staff friendly and sites on lower level 200 section are very nice. Even the sites by route 15 are not bad.... noise is to a minimum. It seems to be a slower pace at this campground over the others and thats how I like it. The other campers in the area seemed to keep the sites clean and they were also friendly. This was our third trip and we will go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a "so-so" park in my opinion, somewhat overpriced for the amenities that are important to me. There is a large pool, and a game room for teenagers, which I guess is good. Most of the sites are seasonal and the short-term spaces are dark and crowded. The restrooms are very clean, as are the showers. WiFi is an extra $5 per night and the cable offerings were minimal. It's a mile + walk (w/o sidewalks or shoulder) to the battlefields. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here from July 16 through August 15 in 2006. The owners were friendly and accommodating when asking for assistance and information. They had a lot of weekend activities for all ages. The interior gravel/blacktop roads could stand a little improvement. The camp sites were clean and well maintained. We did have some power issues with blowing the circuit breaker not at our camp site but at the main power supply control panel. We had to reset it several times it was old and weak and needed to be replaced. The night rate is based on a monthly cost. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Whenever we come to Gettysburg we stay here. We like staying in the lower area maybe because is seems more quiet in the evenings. Just down the road about 5 mins. are the museums and 10 mins. in the other direction is Walmart and other stores. There isn't a lot of activities for young kids but the pool is nice. We have stayed here several times and found it to be a nice place to stay for trips in and around the Gettysburg area. It is close to many area attractions and has pleasant surroundings. The sites are a nice size. It does have a large amount of permanents but these seem to be well kept. The only problem we found was that on one fall visit, the staff and burned the leaves and distributed them in the sites. This made for a messy business when going in and out of the camper. The bathrooms are older but always clean. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

The park could be a terrific place to camp but apparently has fallen into a somewhat sorry state. While we were there over the 4th of July holiday (a monstrous holiday in Gettysburg) the office was typically closing before 8 pm. The snack bar usually was not open and didn't open at all on the 4th. The bathrooms were relatively clean, but certainly could use more attention. The main shower/washroom had no screens and needed more cleaning cuz of the dead bugs & stuff. The sites need some upkeep. One nearby camper was greeted with cobwebs all over his utility pole and found that there was no power available when he closed his local breaker. By the way, although this camp is supposed to be a "Good Sam" park, all good sam members are apparently being told that the usual discounts do not apply on holidays. I have been told this is against Good Sam policy. The only positive thing to report is that the new pool was very clean and wonderful. It is a real shame that this park with its great location has fallen to this state. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Over 50% of sites are seasonal with many poorly maintained rigs. Overall campground shows lack of recent maintanence. I was with a medium sized group and campground reservation system was very poor. We had a breakdown and this campground was next to the service center we used. I can only say, that I would never ever choose to stay there. The restroom/shower was old and the toilets had not been cleaned in awhile. The roads were poor. The sites were small and the first two we were sent to had inoperable utilities. Enjoyed a 10 day stay during reenactment in 2002 - returning for same in 2003. Good interior roads make room for larger rigs. Many level sites. Cable TV adequate. Rest rooms cleaned at least twice a day - good hot water for showers. Nice pool area and camp store with snack bar and ice cream. Good mini-golf set up Family friendly - staff very cooperative and helpful Very close to battlefield - can pick up self-guided tour very easily. Very close to outlet shopping. Real discount during the week (20%). Makes a week long stay a day cheaper! Have stayed at other campgrounds around Gettysburg - enjoyed our stay here the best. Great location, friendly and clean. Good amenities. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
