Fabulous location, right on the beach in the heart of Myrtle Beach. The sites on the beach are small but that's to be expected. We still had room to set up our fire pit even with our large fifth wheel and truck on the site. The office staff were friendly and very efficient. I had trouble getting on the wifi but, to be fair, I didn't go back to the office to ask for help. The park is connected to a very long pier and campers are provided with free passes to it, which is a nice perk. We didn't eat at the on site restaurant but the people across from us highly recommended it. With miles of beach to walk and lots of golf nearby, we very much enjoyed our stay here. We would stay at this park again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a premium oceanfront site and found it to be pretty tight. I didn't have much trouble getting my big rig in and out, but the sites themselves are pretty much shoehorned in to each other. Our neighbors were nice. The staff we came into contact with at the office, trading post, and pier were all pleasant. Even the guy who came around to pick up our trash each day was chatty and friendly. Lots and lots of perms and seasonals, which appears to be the trend at these so-called RV resorts/campgrounds. On the positive side, the weather was fabulous, the pier is quite impressive, and the campground is relatively quiet. I have no reason to not patronize this campground again, but I want to explore other options first. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are very close together. Folks in Trading Post and at Pier were very friendly, however others were not. I suppose it is the location, however of the 700 sites showing only approx 200 are available to overnight campers. The rest are permanent. Have not been to Myrtle Beach for 25 years and will probably not go back. Wi-Fi is free for 15 minutes a day. You can purchase by the day, week, month, however folks in office did not let use know this. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Price is Passport America in this private resort that is open to the public at $47 a night. This is a very nice "true" resort that is gated. Good sized sites, large trees, very friendly staff. Wi-Fi available for an addition fee - only reason I gave it a 9 instead a 10. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice level sites, clean modern facilities. Cable TV included. Satellite iffy depending on site due to trees. Speaking of trees, we got bombarded with acorns, leaves, sticks falling from the trees. I had quite the mess on my slide covers and roof. Sites close to the road would be very loud with traffic sounds we got lucky and were off the road so wasn't too bad. Lots of members here and all were very nice to us. We will stay here again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one great RV park. It is really close to shopping and entertainment. I have been here many times and plan on returning in the near future. The only draw back is traffic noise, which you should know, since the park is right on highway 17 in Myrtle Beach. My only heartburn is the cost of Wi-Fi. The cost is way out of line because nowadays Wi-Fi is a common amenity like electrical hook-ups. Otherwise this park could be rated a solid 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A definite gem! We stayed off season so campground was quite empty. We had ocean front site which was wonderful to watch the sun come up and walk the dog. Security was very evident, even with few campers. For a family this is a great place to visit with lots of activities, indoor and outdoor pools, on site cafe and ocean front playground. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We will definitely return here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This place has great customer service. When I called with questions the lady on the phone spent all the time I needed to get information. When I arrived check-in was quick and easy. Unfortunately I had to leave early due to a death in the family and when we went in to inform the office they refunded the unused portion of our money...something just about unheard of. The sites are decent size, the indoor pool was very nice and the staff was great. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great campground with indoor swimming pool. We only stay here during wintertime as it is quiet. Directly on the ocean for walking. Wi-Fi through out park now. Sites are level and garbage picked up daily. Special rates: pay for 5 days get 2 free. Have stayed here before and will again on way to southern states. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had a large, level, gravel pull through site that had a picnic table and charcoal grill. The section we stayed in was reminiscent of a state park with large trees (to some that will translate to no satellite signal). Staff was helpful and the facilities clean. Some of the restrooms/showers were quite primitive but they are building a new bath house to replace those. Long term residents are in their own section of the park. Nice Kamp K-9, about 50 x 60 feet with some agility toys. For large, active dogs the 3 foot high fence may not be adequate. Poop bags are provided. Easy walk from the park to a CVS pharmacy, fast food, and a couple of real restaurants. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. The roads were paved and it was pretty easy getting in the site. Kids loved the pool and jump pillow and the bathrooms were very clean when we were there even though the facility is pretty old. Close to the beach and all the Myrtle beach action. We will come back here next time we visit Myrtle beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great park, clean, shaded, and we had a full hookup site. Camp in the woods, walk to the beach or pier. We made reservations during the week, the full hookups go fast. Reservations can be made 11 months out. Don't pass up this wonderful park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice beach and state park but the campground is way overrated. Here is why we give it only a 5: (1) Inflexible staff. We had a reservation for two days, wanted to stay 4 days and had to move after two days despite several sites were vacant all the time. We asked to get on one of these sites but were turned down because of reservations. (2) We stayed over a weekend, the campground was filled with tent campers, burning all wood they could get and turning the campground in a kind of refugee camp. (3) Local airport is busier than you think, first departure is 5:30 am right over your site, so you don't need any kind of wake up call. WiFi only at the shop and the loop around it. The dump station was very good but only one for all the sites without sewer. We would not stay here again, we think there are better value for money options in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

There is only one lane for all vehicles (registered and non-registered) to enter the park, so be prepared for ridiculously long wait times to enter the park. And at the campground registration building, with only one staff handling both reservations and the concessions, expect long waits to register as well. There is free Wi-Fi however, as with most state parks, it is exasperatingly slow and only works near the office. This is a large campground with about 350 sites, which generally are quite close together. Sites have electric and water, 54 have sewer and there are 7 pull-through sites. Most sites are shaded. There are a few short walking trails and fishing is available on the pier (permit = $5/day). The beach is truly wonderful (the nicest beach, north of Florida, that I have been to) and only a short walk from the campground. However, during the time that we were here, the campground was filled with screaming kids, dogs that bark loudly anytime someone walked past their site, adults and children who drive their bikes through your site, and campers who do not pick up after their dogs. I have never encountered a more ignorant group of redneck campers than those at Myrtle Beach. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park. Clean restrooms and showers, but the laundry room is a little worn. This is the largest park we have stayed in, and I'm still deciding whether I like the smaller parks for the friendliness, or the coldness of a large corporate-type park. I found check-in slightly confusing as three people talked to me at once when I walked in the door. And then three people just stared. I couldn't figure out which one was supposed to take care of me. Check in was brisk and cold, but efficient. No discounts are honored here, but with strong Wi-Fi, and some cable channels, the rate is fair. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Yes on first blush, the sites appear to be narrow because there are so many sites and your neighbor usually has to park next to your covered picnic table.  There's no privacy, the sites are sandy and if it's crowded it's noisy.  But, the sound of the surf and the breeze off the ocean are all worth it!  The sites are nicely angled so that the view out of the front of the rig is great.  This is a huge campground and if you are fortunate enough to secure a spot near the ocean you will love it.  There are also nice sites in the trees and around the lake.  There's a nice wide beach.  The location is near good restaurants, golf and shopping.  Free Wi-Fi, which is almost a given every place else except Myrtle Beach, is available here.  It is a little slow but came up quickly.  If trucks are parked too far from their fifth wheels, getting around can be a little difficult for big rigs.  The restaurant in the campground is decent. The church service was good. Really nice pool and river float. We've stayed here several times and believe it's the best in the area, although we have not tried the campgrounds further south. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent 4 nights here and had a great time. The campground is enormous and has every amenity a person could think of. However, they do not have a dog park which was surprising to me since they are so pet friendly. You can't beat being less than 100' from the ocean, that was incredible. I would love to give this park a 10 but I had two issues. The lanes between each row are extremely narrow making it almost impossible to fit through, and this was a common complaint among most of the guests we spoke with. We actually moved our site because we could not pull out of the original one we had. The other issue we had was with the fireworks. Kids were setting them off until 11pm and later each night and our dogs were freaking out the entire time. This is not the fault of the park, but something I thought should be mentioned if you have dogs that are scared of fireworks or small children that need to be in bed before 11pm. We would still stay here again because the park is incredible, but we will probably come out of season so it is a bit quieter. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have been coming to Ocean Lakes for more than 10 years. It is not a place of peace and quiet, although it can be if you come at the right time. It is, however a lovely place that is close to plenty to do with your time. The restrooms appear to have been updated during the off season and were spotless. Water was fine for all uses with a filter. The beach is beautiful and well kept. Sites are very level. The camp store is well kept and the laundry is clean and reasonably priced. There were some machines in need of repair but they were clearly marked as Out of Order. The golf carts are here in abundance and can be annoying, especially with kids under age driving poorly. The fireworks are also a bit much at times. But we love coming here and will continue to do so. The facilities are awesome and so are the memories. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is really something! It is absolutely beautiful and well laid out with plenty of activities for everyone. The sites are reasonably spacious with concrete pads and easy access. However, it is a very active and loud park, with music booming from golf carts and teenagers yelling and screaming into the night and fireworks exploding past midnight. Few vehicles obey the speed limits either and pedestrians have to be very careful. If your family includes teenagers this is the place to be, but if you're looking for a quiet retreat this is definitely not for you. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for 12 nights on site 111 once again. We love being right beside the ocean. Seems like they have curbed some of the noise issues we experienced last time, a couple of years ago. There certainly was not as much teenager screaming along the beach road, although the golf carts driving around blaring their music as loud as they can, does get tiring after a while. I think they need to start taking some control over this issue, much like if a camper is blaring their music throughout the campground. Unfortunately, the only carts with music in them are the permanent residents (not the rentals they rent, and they don't allow sort term rentals to bring in their own carts), so I doubt they'll do much. Overall, another very nice vacation. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving weekend, park supplied turkey, ham rolls and drinks for Thanksgiving dinner, there must have been 300 folks to feed, it was VERY GOOD! We had a pull through which was very tight. Our cable didn't work so they ended up giving us a splitter to tap into our neighbors. Sewer was uphill, so dumping was a challenge. Would stay here again, but in a back in instead of a pull through. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped close to the beach. We stayed in a 30' travel trailer and arrived late. It was a very tight campsite. We were unable to use canopy because of the picnic table cover. There was very little space on campsite. Next time will ask for a site bigger than usual for a 30' travel trailer. There is a nice lazy river and pool but very crowded. The Putt putt needs to be updated and have better drainage. Some holes were underwater. This is our second stay and we would go back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
