Quite an older park with a lot of permanents and few transient sites available, but it was adequate for our purpose. Their Pier restaurant named Croakers is an awesome place to eat. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Perfect location within feet of a glorious beach. Sites are small and unshaded, but no problem for us as we are not towing a car. We managed to get Wi-Fi permanently somehow, but think that was a glitch. Its either free for 15 minutes a day or you have to purchase by the day, week, month; which I think is wrong when the price of a nightly stay is so high. All staff friendly. Showers and bathrooms could do with a bit of updating but clean nevertheless. Nice fresh seafood at the local bar. However there is another nice beach bar a bit further up the beach, which is attached to a hotel if you just want a beer; think they also do take-out food. If you just want to spend some time on the beach, this site is perfect. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fabulous location, right on the beach in the heart of Myrtle Beach. The sites on the beach are small but that's to be expected. We still had room to set up our fire pit even with our large fifth wheel and truck on the site. The office staff were friendly and very efficient. I had trouble getting on the wifi but, to be fair, I didn't go back to the office to ask for help. The park is connected to a very long pier and campers are provided with free passes to it, which is a nice perk. We didn't eat at the on site restaurant but the people across from us highly recommended it. With miles of beach to walk and lots of golf nearby, we very much enjoyed our stay here. We would stay at this park again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate reflects Passport American pricing. This is a gated park with many park models. They have activities and on Sunday a banana split for those interested. It was quiet and conveniently located. The office personnel were helpful especially when we needed to find a mobile repair service to come repair our slide. We will recommend this resort to others and will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great staff and people. The conference center had a program Sunday morning. I liked that they came by to pick up the trash every morning. The security was good. The grounds are neat and clean. Cement pads in pull-through configuration. We were close to neighbors, but it was quiet nonetheless. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park with pull-through pads on all the sites. Friendly and helpful staff. The other reviews are a little too high for this park. The sites are not really flat (my front tires are a foot off the ground. Turns within the park are a little crowded and there are many trees. Hard to find with few signs. Close to Myrtle beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Staff; Very friendly and helpful. Price is Coast to Coast rate. Regular rate $30-$58. We had a pull through with full hook ups 50 amp electric. Long cement pad with gravel roads. Average spacing with no privacy between sites. Amenities included a pool that has a super walk in ramp on one side, 1200 foot frontage on the intercostal waterway, boat ramp, conference center, and small pond for fishing. There are individual shower rooms and the Verizon phone 4 bars 3G, Wi-Fi was fair to very good. Sat TV most sites with open sky view for satellite TV. Over the air TV, many stations. Dog friendl with lots of room to walk a dog. Very big rig friendly. Wide roads, all pull thru sites. There is very low light at night and it's quiet. Super park, with great views along the intercoastal waterway and a super value with Coast to Coast. We would rate this park a 10 if the Wi-Fi was better and they paved the roads. We would stay here again. The park just opened in June of 2012. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is okay. Negatives: The bathrooms are not air conditioned. (This is the south so you would expect AC in the bathhouses.) The roads need maintenance. Ants at campsites are terrible. The grass around campsites has not been mowed in quite some time. Has dirt sites so watch out when it rains. The neighbor's sewer connection is pretty much on your site. Park has small sites, low water pressure and golf carts everywhere!! Positives: The beach is nice, there is lots of security, two pools (in/outside), activities, staff, quiet at night, and the roadways are wide. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed a nice, quiet weekend at this KOA while visiting the area. Friendly staff and nice, level sites with room for all slides without sharing meals with your neighbors. Good cable and wi-fi. Entry and exit can be tricky with a long unit like ours, but it can be done. Just allow for the trees. Excellent location for weekend or vacation. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

My family really loved this state park! We went just for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. The park is awesome in so many ways. The drive in is just the beginning of a beautiful state park. Check in was a breeze because we pre registered online and Jim(the campground host and check-in person was very helpful and friendly plus he was our neighbor for the weekend)guided us to our spot. We loved all the state park had to offer for our family. Miles of beach with no hotels close, fishing pier very close with a little store and super friendly employees, overall a really nice campground I would recommend to anyone. My only complaint is most of the rv sites are dirt and when it rains like it did the site is all muddy and some are under water. The sites need a little work and it would be nice if they were at least gravel. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

What more can you ask for except lower prices. You are a couple hundred yards from the beach. Level sites, quiet, nice hosts, pet friendly, family friendly, "bikeable", walkable. Everything you could ever need close by. The quiet does include a couple flights every once in a while, the airport glide path is about 1/2 mile to a mile away, but was more interesting than annoying. We saw Coast guard, Air Force, commercial flights, Awacs planes, actually pretty cool. Fish off the piers. We are extending our stay. Why not a 10...no one gets a 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wednesday, Feb 13, 2013: Myrtle Beach State Park, Myrtle Beach, SC. This park can be a little difficult to find with all the construction going on, but it is a beautiful place. $23 a night with water and electricity. It is located right on the Grand Strand and is a very popular campground; reservations are needed – even now two loops were filled. There is a campground, cabins, beach, fishing pier, nature center, and playgrounds throughout the park, and it is a great place to ride bikes. It is near everything on the strip, yet it is very peaceful and beautiful. One can ride their bikes before May 1 and after Labor Day right on the beach during low tide. Sites are shaded in five loops but are not that private. Nice campground! The check-in staff was informative, friendly, and very helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very nice park, easy to get to and very close to shopping and eating. Sites are mostly all pull-through, and as with most parks the sites are big enough but not over sized. We camped in a 40' fifth wheel and had just enough room for parking our truck. Most sites have a covered picnic table area, and most sites are level. You have easy ocean access, and they have very nice pool areas. The store is very well stocked with all types of supplies. The bath houses are very nice and very clean. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and they have very good security. Wi-Fi was good, but we were close to a bath house that had a unit on it. We enjoyed our stay and would consider staying here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent pick for an ocean side/front campground. It is well maintained and staffed. The only issue was the Wi-Fi. Signal strength was not reliable and the bandwidth was insufficient for e-mail. I think the problem may have been the distance from the antenna and again the lack of bandwidth. I would also think twice about purchasing propane from AmeriGas. It may be convenient but it is expensive and they hit you with strange charges. But do go, stay and enjoy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here in March for 5 nights just to have time away. We live in Charlotte, NC, so it was about a 4 hour drive for us. It was well worth it! We were in site 56, which was a great site if you have two big dogs like we do. There is a small grassy area right across the internal road for a quick doggie stop at night, and easy access to several other small grassy areas. This might be a harder place to have dogs when it's completely full as there didn't seem to be one designated dog-walk area. However, almost everyone here seemed to have a dog or two. Our site also had great access to the beach - just a few steps away. This would be a fantastic site in the summer. We had a shaded picnic table area and plenty of room to spread our patio rugs out (narrow but long). There really isn't much room between motorhomes, but we definitely could put out our awning and spread out a little. We found it very comfortable. The sites are sandy but then again, you're at the beach so you better expect it! Site 56 is also right across the internal road from a gathering place where they must have events during the busy times, so it could be loud or it could be right in the action, depending on what you're looking for. Also right near the Cafe By The Sea (which by the way was closed when we were there, as was the camp store; we didn't expect that of either one). No hot tub anywhere we could see, and the pool was rightfully closed during the cold time we were there. There is also a nice indoor pool we didn't use. The only issue we saw - and this would have been big if we were in those sites - was that the ocean came up over the dunes around sites 135-210; it was very flooded there. We could see they were working to build up a dam; not sure if that happens a lot in that area, but it would have been miserable to be in those sites at that time. Good washer/dryer facilities. Very nice people at reception. Lots to do in Myrtle Beach. All in all, a great experience and highly recommended! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground was great. Lots of activities, clean bathhouses, great store, on-site RV repair. I would rate it a 10 if it wasn't for the other campers. First, golf carts are everywhere! And at night, there is a golf cart parade on the road near the beach, where people drive up and down for hours on end, so much so that you can't even cross the road to get to the beach. Second, our cooler was stolen. Not a big deal, but you don't expect this at a campground. I've never experienced any theft or crime at any campground. Other unpleasant incidents occurred as well. So the take away from this, is if you are looking for a campground with nice people who normally populate campgrounds, this is not the place for you. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground itself was awesome. It might be easier to tell you what it did not have rather than what it had. While we were there we played horse shoe, shuffle board, basket ball, football, pool, air hockey, and swam in the indoor pool and the outdoor pool. The campsites were laid out well. They had these freshwater well stations. Yes, you could have unlimited well water while you are there. Many of the sites had concrete pads. The bathhouses were clean and very nice. The camp store stocked a lot of items. They were only overpriced by about 10% or so. They had a small short order grill and they had a putt putt course. There were plenty of beach access points. The one drawback for me is the golf carts. We were there in the off season. In season, there would be too many of them. Lastly, the nature center was neat as was the overlook area. The overlook area had a great view of the ocean. This is a wonderful place in the off season. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

Friendly staff, picture checking into a large hotel. Rally fee rate $50 per night. Regular rates about $30 to 70, varies from season to locations. We had a pull-through site with 50 amp full hookup. We were in "oceanfront". We were maybe 50 yards to the edge of the beach. The roads were very narrow and some members had a problem pulling into or out of sites, because of the narrow roads and other RVs in front or back of them. Lucky for us we could get out and in OK. There is NO privacy between sites. The sites were level and paved. Not all sites in the park are paved. Trash pickup at site. Picnic table, no fire rings. There are about 900 RV sites and over 2000 permanent sites, many with homes on stilts. This is a very very big resort. Big rig friendly; yes with caution, narrow roads. Laundry; about 100 washers and dryers. Very clean with a laundry service and dry cleaning. Phone/Wi-Fi/TV; Verizon cell and data very good. Wi-Fi in Park good, 70 channel cable TV. Dog friendly, but not easy to find a spot to walk you dog in most areas. Good night lighting. No noise other then the ocean. Book exchange; not sure but I would guess there is one somewhere. A short walk to the beach. This resort has 310 acres, ocean front; super if you want the beach. I would not want to be here in season. It must be like a small city in season. They have every thing you could want to do while here. For us its too crowded and not our type resort. We would probably not stay here again unless with a rally or other special event. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
