This is a quiet campground even though you are close to a busy highway. The campground is down a hill off the highway. You have to register at a restaurant uphill from the campground, but that isn't a problem. The personnel was very helpful and wi-fi connection is very good with a strong signal in site 21, close to the office. If you don't need services other than water, electric, sewer, and cable, this is a great place to stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were very comfortable here. For being right next to the highway it was still quiet. The staff was accommodating. There is a restaurant on the premises, although it’s a tough climb up the hill. I would suggest going around on the road. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground’s name implies that it is a resort – well hardly. It’s biggest asset is that it close to Keystone and although next to the main road into town relatively quiet. Park is in rather rough shape, not overly well kept and some site parking pads are uneven. Site widths are in the 25+ range and long enough for most all big rigs. All sites are pull thrus. Pads and roads are gravel with grass between rigs. Nightly rate seems high for what you get. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

An economical park centrally located in the Black Hills. All sites are pull-through; there is no tent camping and no fires. Although traffic noise is limited, there is plenty of noise from mowers, weed-whackers, and golf cart-like utility vehicles which are driven regularly on the premises by the maintenance staff. Visitors have access to a hot tub located in the cabin area. Trash service seems to be limited as evidenced by the heaping trash bins at the end of the row. This place is designed for self-contained outfits as there are no shower or rest room facilities. If you are looking for a relatively cheap place to set up your rig while you enjoy the sites in the Hills, this place is for you, however it does not provide a great camping experience. This was a good place to camp as far as access to Mt. Rushmore and Hill City, although we wished we had actually stayed in Hill City. Keystone is almost hilariously touristy. We kind of liked the train going by, and we don't mind bikers. We stayed here at the end of the Sturgis craziness, and everyone was in a good mood and having fun. Be sure to ask for a shaded site--it was hot when we were there and we missed having shade. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent campground. We travel full time and I would recommend this campground to anyone. It was clean and pretty. It was close to all attractions. All our questions were answered in a helpful manner and we were given lots of printed material to help us find things. I made our reservations with the owner on line and everything at the park was just as he said and better. The couple who cleaned was friendly and went over and above to keep the grounds and restrooms immaculate. Go there and you won't be sorry. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Well...Hmm. The sites are small, water pressure low, right next to a highway, and the owner was belittling. We would never, EVER go back here again. There are better places to stay in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here in a tent for 3 nights during the Independence day weekend. Oh my. Don't believe it when they say this campground is a quiet one. First: it's squeezed between the mountain and the road, so no way to escape the sound of all those Harley Davidson's whizzing by at 6 am. That especially applies if you are in a tent 4 feet away from the road. Then, there is the functioning Black Hills Railroad, which runs just on the other side of the highway, parallel to it. These noisy old trains run on coal, emitting clouds of black smoke as they regularly transport passengers and tourists going to/from Keystone. Finally there are, of course, the Mount Rushmore helicopter tours. On a good summer day, you are guaranteed to see and hear those choppers about every 10-15 minutes. When the sound of their propellers adds to the noise of the road and the "chug-chug" of the railroad, you will seriously consider relocating to another campground. However, there's that lovely no refunds policy that other reviewers have noted. I'm not even going to describe the unpleasant toilets and showers that are cleaned at best once a day. 30 campsites with two toilet stalls and two showers for women and same for men? They've got to be kidding: they are not. We camped here in a Tent.

This is a Good Sam campground and we loved it. It was right next to the train that goes to Hill City, so we got to see that every evening. The restroom facilities were excellent. The workers were all very friendly and helpful. They even helped us back into our site. Laundry facilities were very limited, but the dryer worked super fast and did a great job! We were very disappointed. Spaces were extremely cramped. Water pressure was low. Toilets in ladies bathroom stopped up on two consecutive nights. Prices high and attitude of owner very condescending, unbending to extenuating circumstances. 1st rule, no refunds under any circumstances. Our site was so small that our front end was about six feet from highway, and rear just about stuck out in driveway. With our slide out, we were 1 foot from the hired help's pickup which was parked next to our site. Campground was narrow and stretched out, so no easy access to pool or laundry. No camp store. Only positives of stay here was easy access to Mt. Rushmore and friendliness of fellow campers. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent one night in the section down by the small stream before moving up the road a few miles. The stream is dry by the way. This RV park is old. The section we stayed in was very cramped and trying to use a satellite dish under all the trees was next to impossible. On the plus side, this park is very close to Mount Rushmore. The camp is located just two miles outside of keystone, South Dakota and about four miles from Mount Rushmore and within easy access to all the Black Hills area sites. There are four sections to this campground. Two are pull through sites, one is tent camping and finally there is a section for smaller travel trailers and pop-ups which was very quiet and relaxing. The first pull through sites are located below where we stayed and near the office. This is where most of the fifth wheels and large travel trailers were camped. We did not like that section as it was tightly packed with hardly room to raise their awnings. The second pull through section is located on the other side of the park near a stream and this is where mostly Class A's were located. This section was nicer than the other pull through section with what appeared to be more room. The final section was the tent section and that was really quite nice. The section we stayed in (small travel trailer & pop-ups) had small pavilions with picnic tables for each site. We didn't have room to open our awning, but the pavilion was sufficient enough for us. Sites available in our section had electric and electric/water. The Old Hill City Highway runs the length of the campground, but it was not too busy and we hardly noticed the traffic. The real charm of the camp is the 1880 Hill City to Keystone Steam locomotive that passed by on regular schedules during the day. My only complaint was while we stayed, there was a problem with the water pressure. I am certain they will get it fixed, but it sure caused us headaches whenever we tried to shower or use the water. Near the office, there are also small cabins that can be rented and there is a nice heated pool. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was a nice place to stay on our visit to Mount Rushmore. It is close to Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore, downtown Keystone, and Rapid City. Please make note of the size of your motorhome or travel trailer. There is one road going into the area that is very narrow. Call ahead and ask for other directions even if you are not sure. The hosts were friendly, they had a gas station, and a place to eat. The mini golf needs repaired and the pool could have been cleaned out a bit. Overall a nice place to stay. This is a nice place to stay. It is remote but that only adds to the experience of the Black Hills. The road in is very scenic and although steep and narrow it is worth the drive. Again, it is in the Black Hills. The staff are very nice and helpful. The facilities are well maintained and there's hot water if you shower at night instead of morning. No mosquitos when we stayed in July. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The road in is definitely something you want to drive during daylight. The park is very family friendly. We stayed here one night but it would been better if we had stayed for a few days. The store is very impressive and the wi-fi is only accessible form around the store area. The showers and laundry were always busy. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very pretty park about 9 miles from Keystone-its important to access and egress using Hwy 40 and Playhouse Rd rather than the challenging 16A. About 1/2 the sites are tents and popups so the bathrooms/showers are busy. No mobile phone service and Wi-Fi was available only at the store/office. About 15 of the RV sites have full services with remainder having water and electric. We stayed on the C2C rate and enjoyed our stay as both the employees and campers were friendly and helpful. First off the road in is a nightmare if you are in a motorhome. I drove though rock tunnels that were only as wide as my rig. We get there and they don't have sewer, only one restroom with three showers for the whole campground, there are no fire rings in the row they park RV's, no satellite dish coverage where they park the RV's but they do have a pay phone because you don't get service on your cell or air card. I would never stay here again and I would never recommend this place to anyone. We had paid reservations so no refund for early departure so we had to stay a week but only lasted 3 days. Very remote from the towns and the tourist type sites to visit. Winding narrow roads to get to and from the campground, and some not fit at all for driving on in a RV. Carefully check your route in, and better yet contact campground for routing. Wi-fi works at/near camp store, not from all sites. No cell phone reception, but they have a pay phone. 30 amp sites with water, some with sewer drop. Once you are in the campground it is very nice, scenic, and well maintained. If you are OK with the remoteness it is a nice place to camp. Very nice tent sites and cabins as well. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Better than average place. Very quiet, but it's very remote. The owners are friendly and helpful. Facilities aren't modern, but everything works and is kept very clean, from the bathrooms/showers to the laundry and the grounds. Inside all sites are easy to access. Plenty of room between sites, too. Only thing that needs to be highlighted with bright lights is the road to the park: The one that got picked by our GPS navigation had 12 ft high and 12 ft wide tunnels. Pretty drive, but no way will any big rig go that route. Plus, the switchbacks are 270 to 360 degree turns. The big rig road goes through Hermosa. Best to call the camp and verify your route and rig size. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park was hard to get to. The mosquitoes were terrible. We couldn't get out of the Rv without being eaten alive. When we asked for a refund they refused to give us one due to a 15 day cancellation policy. This was the worst site we have ever stayed at because it was hard to get to. Because of the standing water, the site was full of bugs. This was not a bad year for bugs, the only place we encountered them was at this campground and with in 5 minutes I had over 7 bites. The worst part was that the campground is described at being between Keystone and Hill City, but it is up the mountain 12 miles. I felt their ad was very deceiving. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice campground with spacious sites. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly, the campground had a good store and lunch breakfast counter. The only drawback is location, this campground is a long way from anywhere on 16A a delightful windy road. We camped here in a Motorhome.
