Our $62 rate includes tax and was far too much for this park. Yes, the web site photos are misleading. They were taken X years ago when the park was new/refurbished. Now the trees are large and the place is a touch scruffy. The covered picnic tables were appreciated, but the park was difficult to get around with a big rig and the space between sites was limited. Cable selection was just fine, but Internet wasn't consistent. At one stage all power and cable went out. The laundry had adequate machines. The bathrooms were dated. This park is about 8 miles south of Rapid City so it is quite a drive to get food supplies. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Way over priced for what you get, but you are in Rapid City. Not any places to walk to for food but an over-priced dirt floored chuck wagon across the 4 lane highway. Called and asked for a pool and they said they did then got there and it was closed for repair! Rather rude front lady, acts very pompous! Wasn't helpful in getting or helping us find food until escort guy suggested pizza then it was like pulling teeth for her to get us a number, she plopped the phone book and walked away...pizza hut delivers but not Rapid City's...the cable-$3/night and it didn't work...escort guy came down with his TV and surprisingly it worked but we got conned out of $3, everywhere we went before and after it worked perfectly! You also are on top of your neighbor...way too packed in and the park needs to reinvest some $ back into it! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground was OK but their advertising honesty leaves a lot to be desired. The heated pool and spa was still closed when we left, after the Memorial Day weekend. If the heated pool/sp is seasonal their ads should so state. They charge $3/night extra if you want cable. The WiFi is almost non-existent. You can sometimes make a connection and twice during our 4 days there the connection speeds were acceptable. The reminder of the time I connected using my phone. We paid $39.17 per night, including tax, with Goods Sam discount but without the $3/day fee for cable. We camped in a 40' class A. If the place was full it would be very tight getting in and out of the area where we were parked. On the positive. There was a nice grassy strip adjacent to the parking area and a shelter over the picnic table. If traveling with friends you could pull into adjacent sites from opposite ends and share the grassy area and shelter. Had their advertising stated that the heated pool/spa was seasonal and had it noted that they charged extra for cable, I would have rated them a 7 or 8. If the WiFi had worked I would have rated them at least an 8. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed in this campground overnight in a 5th wheel. We selected this campground because it was close the Mt Rushmore and offered Wi-Fi and Cable (optional) for a somewhat reasonable price. The folks we met were very nice but were surprised to see so many permanent RV’s. The place was clean, our spot somewhat level, but the access lanes very narrow – would not attempt with a large motor home or big rig. They guided us into our spot and helped spot the unit. It was a tight fit. We did not check the restrooms, etc., but we saw a lot of people using them so we guess it was okay. The Wi-Fi was okay and they offer 20 Direct TV channels. The campground was quiet which we appreciated. Did not see any kids but they did offer a pool, game room, playground, dog area – and its own gas/diesel refueling station. Prices were a little high but not worth the $3.00 I would save buying gas in town. We have nothing bad to say about the park other than narrow roads and charging for cable TV. With this said, we give it a good 7 rating. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Well situated location for exploring the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore. Campground is spacious, with level sites, some with little shelters for the picnic table. The restrooms are clean as are the showers and the laundry. It was very quiet at our location near the back of the park. The owners live at the park, and they were very friendly. Before we left a helper came by to make sure we were happy with the experience. Those little things really make a big difference. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The daily rate reflects a monthly rate prior to the beginning of the season. Owner and staff were friendly. Site was level but could have been a little tight if other rigs were by us. Great location to go sight seeing in the area. Laundry was clean, all machines working, and priced reasonably. Open area to run the dog next to the park. Shopping is from 5 to 10 miles from the park; however, a Walmart is currently under construction just a few miles from the park. If we came back to the area we would stay here again. This was a nice campground. Staff was good and the grounds were clean. This is a good location for Mt. Rushmore and Custer SP. The sites and the roads are tight, as I had trouble maneuvering my 27' trailer around some of the motorhomes that were sticking out on the road. I would stay at this campground again. We loved this campground. The staff from the manager to the workers were friendly, outgoing, and helpful. The sites are level and long. Each site has a shelter which added to the enjoyment. The campground is near everything: from Mt. Rushmore to Crazy Horse to Custer State Park. We would definitely camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a clean park with helpful and friendly employees. Older park that needed updates and sites not big enough to open our awning. Small sites for large rigs but OK . Lots of things to do close by. Very accommodating. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

After reading very few reviews on this campground, we were very skeptical about camping at the Happy Holiday Resort. About 1/2 the reviews were negative. We had an amazing time here. There is plenty of shade, extremely friendly staff and guests, clean bathrooms and showers. Even though this resort is older, they keep it up very well. I would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stopped for an overnight. Pull-through sites convenient, but parking lot campus is a real bummer. Not much to maintain on campus, since everything is gravel. Not much of a view, either. Appears to be connected to a mobile home park. Children's playground consists of a small jungle-Jim. Staff consists of "work-campers" and their attentiveness and demeanor reflects as much. Won't be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is technically in Rapid City, but it's not really in town so you have to be prepared for a bit of a drive. I'd guess maybe 8 to 10 miles. The park is a little older and the spots are a little small, and has the parking lot feel to it. But overall the staff was nice and were fairly accommodating. Really, the location is our only complaint since we wanted to be in Rapid City proper. It is a little closer to Mount Rushmore, so if you're here for that it would be a good compromise between being near town and easy access to Rushmore. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Located in the city. Close to all the attractions. The park is old, but kept in pretty good condition, sites are dirt and gravel, not very level. During the rain you have to contend with mud. The showers are only fair and if you are over 200 pounds it is impossible to change in the tiny space. For $42.00 there are much better parks. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park one night while traveling through the state of SD. We had the great misfortune of traveling through the week of the big "Sturgis" biker rally. The staff seemed annoyed that we wanted to stay here. (Not much of a choice because of the rally.) The park increased its rate to $50.50 (plus an additional $6 for our children) and did not accept any club discounts. The place was packed, sites were small. The internet did not work. The showers didn't drain, and flooded that portion of the bathroom. People were smoking in the bathrooms. It was not a pleasant experience. In all, we wish we had kept on driving to look for another place to stay. With all the bikes, it was very noisy most of the evening. (We aren't bike-haters, actually have our own HD as well) but it just wasn't worth what we paid. If we ever traveled through again, it would not be the week of Sturgis, and I think we would look for a different place. We camped here in a Motorhome.

They charge $3 a day for cable, we have traveled 6,000 miles and this is a first. If you like fear mongering Fox News, they have that but not CNN. It is from satellite and last night it continually dropped off and did a lot of stuttering. Internet is terrible, have to log on constantly. Small pool services the motel and the campground, so it is full of children all the time. Laundry $2.00 load. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay while exploring the many attractions in the area. My only problem is the extensive list of add on charges. Extra people are $3 per day including any child over 5. The cable TV will cost another $3 per day and has so few channels it is useless. Many say the sites are tight and hard to get into, but I had no problem with my 36 footer pulling a car. Avoid the whole area during the Sturgis Rally weeks. There are so many little scooters darting all around, and all the campgrounds double or triple their rates. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park, centrally located for exploring the Black Hills. Check in staff was accommodating, however they could be better organized. We were led to the site by a work camper on a golf cart, and he helped align the fiver in the site. As previously stated, it is tight. Sites are close together, we shared a shelter with another site, no need for the awning. Campground is very clean, showers were clean, laundry was clean, and pool area was clean. This campground served its purpose as a great base location for exploring the Black Hills and Badlands region. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here five nights. The spaces are very close and we were not able to put out our awning due to a nearby tree. The park has some sites with a little grass, most were a combination of weeds and rocks. The rest rooms and showers were clean. The grounds were clean and with ample places to walk our dog. The lady in the office and gentleman who showed us our site were pleasant. There is an extra charge for pets and for cable television. I observed two RVs having a difficult time parking and leaving. One struck an electrical service box the other struck a tree. We have stayed in much nicer parks for less money with no extra charges for cable or our pet. I probably will not stay here again if I have another option. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Restrooms were clean, and front desk help was friendly. Otherwise, the park was very crowded, cable TV didn't work on either visit, sites were narrow and hard to access, there was not much room for tow vehicle, and the pool always crowded and unclean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a neat, clean little campsite. It was off of a busy state highway just outside of Rapid City. The staff was extremely nice. The showers, toilets and pool were very clean. The spots were a bit tight and rather interesting. The one we stayed at had a little roofed pavilion next to it. My wife and I thought that was interesting. If we are ever able to get out West again, we would stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Spent three of the worst nights of our trip here. Kids running around screaming and yelling until midnight even after complaints made to management. A bit pricey at $37 a night and an extra $3 for a limited number of television channels. We crossed this one off for a return visit. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very friendly & helpful staff. Escorted us to our site. Campsite is laid out very orderly with mostly pull-thrus and shared shelters for the picnic tables. Full hookups with free Wi-Fi. Some difficulty with connections. Cable TV was $3 per day. In my opinion not worth it, limited channels. Washrooms are large and presentable, laundry was under renovations. Games room, some supplies, meeting area, basketball court & gas pumps that were shut down. A good facility. We stayed for 4 days and would stay there again. Good Sam rate $34. We had a great sight and they were great since we had to change our reservations from Lazy J as all reservations were canceled on Oct 31 when the park changed ownership. The place was crowded due to Sturgis. The quite times were enforced and the employees were always trying to help you. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We liked the larger trees with lots of shade. The covered patios are great. They have RV parking on both sides of the covered patio. Both campers share the patio. We were there with family that was in another camper so we shared the covered patio and it worked out great. if the park is full you may have another RV'er sharing the patio with you. That could be a little awkward. This is an older facility and the parking spots are smaller and a little tricky to get into. The staff is great and the park is clean. They have a little store that has some groceries. The park is centrally located to all of the tourist sites We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were here during off season rates. The park was very clean, very easy access from the interstate, and centrally located to all the sites in the area. We had a back in site that was easy to access and long enough to stay hooked to the tow, but I agree that the pull through sites are a little tight for a 40 ft fifth wheel. Smaller rigs would do much better in the pull throughs. The office help was extremely friendly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

They say big rigs are welcome - and I made it in with the help of a man guiding me. What I did not realize is that I scraped a tree and dented my awning and roof. At one point the guy waved for me to stop and said back up and swing wider so I could make the turn. I asked him if I hit anything and he said no. 2 days later I noticed the damage - but of course it was to late to complain. There really isn't a lot of room and if the guide doesn't do a good job - well you get the picture - and he won't tell you he caused you to damage your rig - so be very - very careful in this place! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground. Convenient to most everything in the area. There are campgrounds that are prettier and more centrally located, but we wanted to stay near the interstate. Across the street from Reptile Gardens and close to Bear Country USA. Very nice people and easy to work with. If the campground was full, it would be difficult for the big rigs to get around and there is a mobile home park on the side and back of the campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park would have been extremely tight with our 37' fifth wheel had it been full, but it late September is was only 1/4 full so we had adequate maneuvering room and it was actually quite pleasant. Our Verizon cell phones had just one bar of signal but did work within the park. No problem finding our satellite between the trees with our tripod-mounted internet system. Staff was courteous. Would stay here again but only in off-season with our size rig. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A large park with a small park feel. Close to lots of area attractions, but far enough away so as to not feel "in the middle of everything". Less than 10 miles to Rapid City & travel to places like Deadwood, Sturgis & Hot Springs were less than an hour. Also close enough to Devils Tower to make a day trip. If you are going to do Rushmore, this is the place to stay!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pull thrus are way too tight as has been stated. The only other negative is that we could not get cell reception with Verizon. We also were given two sites for the price of one as they were not very busy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also renting a car was very easy and it was delivered to our door. If the two negatives could be corrected, it would be an excellent campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed four nights. Sorry, but this is not a big rig access campground. Very tight as the others say. Won't want to be here when it's busy. They gave us two sites for the price of one. One for our 35 ft trailer and the other for our 25 ft truck and 8 ft motorcycles. We didn't pay the $2 dollars a day for Cable TV. Later a staff member came by and said we could use it for free. I'm glad we didn't pay for it could only get 8 channels and only 2 came in clear. Wi-Fi works great. No road noise. Does have speed bumps but they are very small. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very friendly and helpful owner and staff. Campground is in a valley about 19 miles from Mt. Rushmore and south of Rapid City. Cell phone service is almost non-existent until going about a mile in either direction, after cresting a hill. Sites have sheltered patios. We were allowed to park our tow car in an empty site next to us; as there is not room for a big rig and a tow vehicle on a site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has the nicest staff of anyplace we've every stayed and the modem arrangements are superb. Two connections and two nice places to sit. Only problem with this park is that it is too darned tight. They need to reconfigure and take out some spaces so that it won't be so difficult to navigate with a big rig. Would recommend this park if, and only if, your rig is not to large, or if you have reservation and know you are on road. This place has a great idea, small patios covered between rigs with electric provided in them that come in quite handy, especially if you are with another rig. Trying to get in or out though is a treat. We had a 35ft fifth wheeler, and had to wait until the people across from us came back, to allow us to leave. (They had to back up their motorhome!) Staff was friendly and helpful. We were there over 4th of July this year, and never wanted for something to do in area. Price was competitive for Mt. Rushmore, Blackhills area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Spaces are too close together, ingress and egress is poor. Place is simply too tight. They charge you for everything--a pet fee, a cable TV fee, a RV wash fee, and so forth. Not worth the money and would stay elsewhere. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground would be excellent if they were to reconfigure it and reduce the number of spaces. It is too tight and spaces are too small. They charge a pet fee and charge for cable TV. Management and staff of the park are very nice and helpful, however. Your cell phone will not work at this park. The modem facilities in the office are the best I've ever seen in a park--very comfortable and convenient. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are really really small. They have covered patios at some sites but they have to shared with the rv next to you. Gravel sites not enough room between you and other rvs to get outside no where to walk at all. They have a really nice store and place for modem hook up. The hot tub is big enough for 4 people thats all. They rent motel rooms here too, so pool and hot tub is not big enough for all the people. No security . No paved sites . Real nice laundry. The Staff friendly and helpful. Charge 1.00 extra for pets, dog walk outside of park near the hwy. 2.00 extra per night for cable tv. No service for cell phone, have to drive out on top of hill to use it. We paid for 8 days when we came in and after 4 days wanted to leave and ask them for a refund, they would not refund our money said NO REFUNDS. No we will not come to this park again We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects promotional package for three nights at $39.95 requiring listening to a sales presentation...(all of an hour). Absolutely beautiful grounds were well manicured. Office was closed upon 5:00 pm arrival but a late arrival packet was left with easy to follow directions to a back-in site. Site was large enough to park my TOAD alongside the unit. Lots were large enough to sit comfortably outside without encroaching upon neighbors. Paved streets, multiple trash receptacles, and nearby overflow parking made this one of the nicest parks during our travels. It is member only but for a reasonable one-time fee and nominal annual fees it would be enticing except for the prospect of harsh winters. Would have rated a ten however as the "season" was ending they closed many of the amenities like the restaurant and the pool. And the onsite gas station was out of everything but 85 octane fuel. Check-in and hosts were friendly and efficient the following morning and we would have extended our stay had we been able to keep our current site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Terrific resort, with experienced, informative and very friendly staff. Sites are double wide and paved. Restaurant, fuel, pool, bike rentals, and a lot more amenities. Membership park: we were here for 15 nights at a nightly rate of $30.50, but only because the resort manager took pity on us. We were on a site that was designed for a cabin. We pulled in to take advantage of an excellent view, requiring long runs for hook-ups. If you can get in here, this is a first-class park. Others have mentioned, "Too many rules." We thought the rules were certainly reasonable. When you're hosting close to 500 rigs and cabins, rules are truly a necessity. Wish it hadn't been so dry. the grass needed water, but the long hot, dry and windy 2012 made that impossible. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV park could be model for what a great RV park design. The interior roads are paved and wide with easy turns. The sites are large back-ins with large concrete pads and a lot of space around them. Everything is well taken care of. There are multiple game courts, playgrounds, exercise room, club house, large pool and hot tub, in park restaurant, store, and many activities. We found staff and local members to be friendly and helpful. There are nice areas for walking dogs, and a no pet side of the park is also available. There is a free Wi-Fi that we found to be available at times at our site, but we mostly used our Verizon air card which received a strong signal. There is free cable TV with about 15 channels that came in well; we only used for local channels as we mostly used our satellite dome. Although there are some trees for shade most are open for satellite. All sites have 20, 30, and 50 amps. Except for a small are without sewer hookups, the sites are all full hookup. The rate above is the RPI rate. We stayed for 2 weeks and will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I am just going to say it. This place is sterile. It is laid out fine and the paved streets are wide. It is just like how a committee would design a campground. The place lacks flavor and charm. There are rules against everything and the fines are posted for various things you can do wrong. For example, if your router interferes with their router, it will cost you $25. The "shade" trees never throw shade on the campsites, On the positive side, the campground has everything most campers would want from meals to fuel. A golf course is not far away. Just follow the rules and you will be fine. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Membership park. Excellent facilities. This is more of a resort than camping. Sites are back ins but level and shaded. Sites are on concrete pads with picnic tables. Lots of attractions in area but grocery stores and shopping are about 10 miles away. There is a small store and gas station on the property. Wi-Fi access is OK and good Verizon signal. Would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here on a special rate to review the resort. This is a member owned resort. We used the pools and spas and they were great. I walked in and checked the restrooms and showers, they were clean and looked well maintained. All sites were concrete and level with good grass next to them. All sites were spacious. Not for sure if we will be back, but if you like to go to a resort style place and never leave this would be the place! Very kid friendly! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is just an easy park to be in, from the very welcoming and helpful greeters at the gate, to the lodge staff, etc - everyone knows their job and there are no problems. Our rate reflects RPI affiliation. We were in the "Meadows", no trees, but wild turkeys came through at night! Good location to see all the tourist activities. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I will recommend this resort very highly to anyone visiting the Rapid City area. All points of Interest are easily accessible from there. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and all amenities are excellent. Very big rig friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fantastic physical facilities with concrete pads and lots of grass between sites. Older sites have tree shade. This is a resort CG with lots of sites. Apparently always full with members during high tourist season in Black Hills. Great folks servicing the campground, central to tourist attractions, ten minutes to upscale Rapid City, large dog park and friendly patrons. We enjoyed every minute there. Price reflects RPI rate. The park has a number of facilities; unfortunately all have already been closed for the winter. Our site was very adequate, but they should have a no bird feeding rule. The party next to us was feeding birds and they messed our car so bad we had to take it to an in town car wash. ( Car/rig washing not allowed in park). I did ask them to remove the feeders until we left and they did. There is a nice dog run which we only used once as it is quite a distance from our site. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our Rate was only $10.00 per night through Coast to Coast with a max of 7 nights but since we were put in an area with no sewer hook ups that was to long. The Restrooms were closed for way to long for cleaning about 9 - 10 am, seemed like a nice park up on the hill but not where we were. The worst thing was the lawn mower ran over and chewed up our dogs cable which they said they'd replace but never did. A recipe was presented to the manager and we are out the 20 bucks. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If you are member of Coast-to-Coast, you get stuck in their "meadow". Dust bowl is more like it. It is pit which means it gets HOT, power isn't good, WiFi is non existent except at 2:00 am and people are not friendly when you register. You make their life difficult and they really don't want to deal with you. We will never come here again. They lost a possible membership sell to us because of their attitude. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park with paved sites. More than 40' to the next row of coaches. Had good separation. Nice little restaurant by the pool. So much to do from here. First time stay with this very low rate, you have a 45 minute sales pitch. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very large park. It is big rig friendly. I stay as a RPI member and was disappointed to be charged $2.50 per night for utilities. You do get cable TV: 27 channels. The pool is somewhat crowded but the temperature was 95, so everyone was in the pool. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park if you have the money to buy into their package. We stayed here on a 3 night 4 day special Internet deal if you listened to their promotion. The park is very well run, very clean, but because it is a resort type of park, the tenants tend to be stand-offish and not friendly to newcomers. The volunteer staff is very friendly and welcoming, but, the regular campers are cool. We have found this attitude in other parks that are resorts or private run establishments. We do like the fact that there are no fire rings - nothing worse than a bunch of stinking fires at night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park itself was nice but there were way too many rules. The local members were not friendly at all. RPI members were treated like outsiders and if you were not in the members click, they would not even say hello. The park is odd with a no pet side and some of the staff members were rude. Do not expect full hookups if you are not a local member. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 4 nights and the campground is absolutely excellent. As other reviewers have said, this is truly a resort campground. We made reservations 2 months ahead of time as Coast To Coast members. When we arrived, we were put in "The Meadows" and found there were no sewer hook-up. We asked to be moved since we were going to be there 5 nights but we were told there were no full hook-up sites available. The lady said that as Coast To Coast members,(or RPI, Thousand Trails) we shouldn't expect full hook-ups but to check back to see if they had any cancellations. We checked nightly, and also counted and logged the empty sites. At the end of the fourth day, there were an average of 38 empty sites, 11 of them were empty the entire time we were there. We have pets, and only counted the empty sites in the "Pet Side" of the property. I felt that they were being untruthful as I had logged all available sites for four days, and we left one day early since we had to pack up to dump any way. Really nice place, but the attitude towards C2C was unacceptable. We will NOT stay here again, unless we do the $39.95 for 3 nights/4 days and sit through their sales pitch. I bet those people get sewer hook-ups! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This price is for the 3 night/$39.95 special, if you take the tour of this membership park. It is a very nice park with all the amenities. It would be a great place to stay again, but we were not interested in being a member: too expensive. We would stay again if we could though. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a member park, but does have promotional sites available to the public for $39 for 2 nights. This is our all-time favorite park anywhere. Large sites, decent space between, well maintained. Great pool, wonderful variety of amenities. Reservations are necessary, especially during the summer months. The $2.50 nightly fee is for energy usage, instead of raising maintenance fees for members, those who use it pay the small fee. Friendly staff, comfort stations all around the park. Paved roads and sites, some sites are "expanded", offering double width paved. Excellent facility! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The price reflects the RPI rate. This place was great. Sites were paved and level, campground was clean and meticulously maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only reason for not giving it a higher rating is that for the entire 3 days we were here, the WiFi didn't work. The manager kept saying that they would reset the servers, but the staff wished us good luck, that they had been having problems all year. Usually not a problem, but it is also a dead zone for AT&T. Having said that, we will definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Finally, a "Resort" !! We stayed here on RPI membership and this is a 5 ++ star CG. Everything you can think of is available. Some "full timer live-in's" but very well maintained. They have a Pet-Side and No-Pet side of CG. We visited Mt Rushmore and the Badlands, etc. If we lived closer we would join their full membership and would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this RV resort as guests of members. It was our first visit but will not be our last. This park has all of the amenities you could want, including large spaces, green grass, open areas, scattered small laundry facilities, restaurant, small store and pool. During the summer, there is a weekly craft and rummage sale on Saturdays. There are many planned activities, of which we did not take advantage of. This is their 25th anniversary celebration year. All staff are friendly and glad to have you as guests. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were here on the 3 night promotional deal too, and it rained hard each afternoon. Didn't get to use facilities very much, but this is a beautiful place. Worth coming to check it out, but still rather expensive to just join the ranch unless you can come often and get your money's worth. Watch out for the long-winded,self-absorbed sales guy. Also, be sure to check Gas Buddy for area prices. It was actually 15cents a gallon cheaper for gas in Rapid City, not at the park. The RV sites in our section were not level, but at least you have plenty of grass around you- and lots of screaming kids on the weekend. Private bathrooms are great; too bad they are closed 2 hours for cleaning. Very small laundry in each pod. Still, a super resort, the real deal. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If I could give them an 11, I would. The rate shown is there marketing rate. If you are not a member of hart Ranch or C2C or RPI this is the only way you can stay here. 3 nights for $39. You have to attend a marketing presentation, but it is very low key and takes less than an hour. As the other reviews have said this place has everything. Pool, hot tub, putt-putt, play grounds, bike rentals, and on and on. On site cafe and rec room. On site tire service and propane. Oh, by the way, gas is 2 cents a gal cheaper than town. Very nice place. If it was not 2000 miles from my home, I would join in a minute. Why can't there be more places like this? We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice gated private membership resort with on-site roving security, large swimming pool, jetted hot tubs, store, fuel and propane, restaurant, put put golf, rental items, pool tables, tennis courts, dog walk area, etc. Rate I show is $10 day RPI/C2C, $2.50 day utility fee, & tax. Two sides to park: pet and no-pets. 10 MPH enforced and also highly advisable due to kids on bikes and many walkers. I recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects C-C membership price. Was truly a resort with a lot of amenities. We were their too early for a lot of activities and not much was open but can see that when it is in full operation it is a first class resort. There was the cheapest gas in the area available and even a shop that does oil changes on grounds. Sites were very far apart and open, surrounded by grass and a couple of small trees. Views in area are great!! you park your rig and your vehicle on a double sized level concrete pad. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Would for sure stay here again!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice membership park near Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse & other national parks and monuments. WiFi a little weak at site 235. Rate for stay is RPI rate. Pets only allowed on south portion of park. Lots of walking trails. Sites are paved concrete and lots of grassy areas. Would stay again when passing thru Rapid City. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed on a promotional rate, but the park is worth every penny of the "walkup" rate! Facilities and maintenance are great. Folks are friendly and helpful - both employees and fellow campers. We will stay here whenever our itinerary allows! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had made reservations 60 days in advance and had a confirmation number for a 7-day stay here. Upon arrival, we were told that our reservations had been canceled. When we asked who had canceled the reservation, who they had talked to, and when were the reservations canceled, she said she didn't know. She would not honor our reservation and could only accommodate us for one night. We overheard her talking to her coworker asking for verification that RPI reservations had in fact been canceled. We got the impression that because of the upcoming July 4th weekend and that Hart was completely booked, they had been canceling RPI reservations to make room for their "members." She specifically told us that their first and only priority was to their members. Fortunately, we were able to move to the nearby Ellsworth AFB FamCamp. The camp host there told us that in the last two days she had been contacted by three other RPI members who had the same thing happen to them by the Hart campground. Hart Ranch should not be listed as an RPI campground if this is how guests are treated. The staff was courteous, but uncaring. A weekend manager was not on duty to sort out this problem which seemed strange for a 5-star resort. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a membership park in a beautiful setting in a valley between Hwy 16 & Hwy 79. The park is close to all the tourist attractions and plenty of things to do in the park if you elect not to travel once there. The park is divided into different sections, one for pet lovers and non-pet lovers. The only drawback this time of the year is the afternoon thunderstorms which can be quite exciting. We stayed here for a week under our RPI membership. We camped here in a Motorhome.

An excellent place to spend sometime if you are visiting the Black Hills area of South Dakota. Well kept, clean, neat with lots of amenities. There is a fuel station, store, and restaurant. We stayed on a marketing stay, $39.95 for 3 nights. Looked like a very nice place, and memberships didn't seem to be very expensive. You are obligated to a sales presentation / tour of the facilities, but it was quick and easy. Super nice playground, several pools, and hot tubs. They also had sports courts and a tennis court, all paved roads, and concrete sites with patio. W-iFi was good most of the time, and seemed very fast. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park with concrete pads and patios. I did get the wifi to work, but it was so weak that it came and went - they need to work on that. The park sits in a valley and we did not have cell coverage while there, tho we did have it in surrounding areas. We would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

R.P.I. Park. Also has their own members who tend to ignore non-members which didn't bother us but might bother others. Site was large and everything worked. We toured the area sights and enjoyed having a nice secure area to stay in. If in the area we would look forward to staying here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We arrived on the Friday of Labor day weekend with RPI reservations. Park was busy but didn't feel overly crowded. Nice level site with all hookups & cable. WiFi never worked at our site for the whole 2 weeks we were here ( site 103 ) After the long weekend the park pretty much emptied out and they closed down the pool, spa, restaurant, snack shack and the clubhouse hours were shortened. All planned activities also ended - potlucks, cards games, etc. Our neighbors were all Hart Ranch 'members' and we found them not friendly at all - didn't return our hellos or waves. (non-members are given a very bright green car pass - members have a decal attached to the windshield.) We used the park as a home base for sightseeing in the area - most sights are about an hour away ( Deadwood, Sturgis, Spearfish, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Rushmore and Hot Springs ) I think most people come here for the activities and resort type amenities not for sightseeing. Because we are RPI members we will probably stay here again when we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a membership campground, we stayed a guests of Escapees for that price. No sales pitch given to us, but our stay was during Sturgis Bike Rally, very busy. Park was very well kept and the activities were plenty. We would like to stay again if possible. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The resort lay out is great. Very well maintained, each site has paved pad and patio plus lots of grass. Staff at check in desk not well trained but definitely can say the word no. We will try the resort again and hope for friendlier atmosphere. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Coast-to-Coast rate plus $2/day for utilities. This is just our 2nd year motorhoming, but Hart Ranch is the first "resort" we've encountered that we'd consider spending a whole season in (but not winter). It's reasonably quiet, everybody's friendly, and there are families of all ages and sizes. Like a small town. Close enough to Rapid City and the tourist stuff, isolated enough if that's not your style. We'll be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Started staying here as RPI member. We have since purchased a Hart Ranch membership. There is a $1.00 per day utility charge for everyone, member or not. There is a pet and non pets side. Cabins are available for an additional charge and are quite nice. The staff is very friendly and competent. There are shade trees in some parts of the park. Reservations can be made 60 days in advance. Reservations are needed, as this is a very busy resort. This is the best park in the RPI-C2C system. We will stay at Hart Ranch often. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I believe that this was the best park that I have ever stayed in. The staff was very friendly and the park was very clean and pretty. Although there were not a lot of trees, I loved the openness of the surroundings. On my next trip to Rapid City, SD, I will definitely stay here. This park gives Coast to Coast a very good name. This is a membership park. We stayed under RPI. We will return often and probably buy a membership. There are a lot of activities going on in the summer. The park is close to all the Black Hills attractions. It is very clean, quiet and pet friendly. There is a separate section for pets and non-pet. The office staff is very friendly and competent. Visited park with RPI membership and will definitely return to this clean, attractive and well-managed campground! The only item that is a "near miss" is the RV pads are a bit tight for Big Rigs when observing the "2-foot" overhang rule (ie: you cannot back in more than 2 feet over grassy area). There is plenty of room to enlarge the rear concrete pads in this Membership campground resort. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an RPI/Coast2Coast resort. The normal RPI rate is $8, but they squeeze an extra buck out by charging extra for 50amp. The wifi comes and goes like most free ones do. But the RULES...oh my! They make sure you don't get past the guard gate w/out knowing the rules. You are greeted with a listing of them, along with a "enjoy your stay". Security travels around 24/7 with RADAR DETECTORS to enforce the 10mph speed limit. Just to be a rebel, I once went 11mph. I don't think you can get a state-enforced ticket, but I don't want to find out. One of the positives is that activities are open to everyone, not just park members like in other RPI parks I've visited. It's not 4-5 miles from Rapid City, it's more like 12, so there's no "running to the store" unless you need "gas station food". The pool is huge and nice. The 3 hot tubs are residential sized and kept at: 92, 98 and 102 degrees and marked, "12 & under", "13 & older" and "18 & older" If you're a member, you can store your RV here and they'll bring it out and park it for you in a spot when you're coming in. You don't even need a tow vehicle if you have a fifth wheel or travel trailer. Not a bad place to be a member if you can live w/the rules and are from the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very overated. We reserved ahead and thought we would find a nice campground up in the trees, were shocked upon what we found. The campground is set up like a trailer court, very small trees, no shade. Wind blows down through the canyon at night blowing things over. More rules then any campground we have ever visited. Very unfriendly place. This is a membership campground and if you are not a member be ready for a long sales pitch. You might as well park in a parking lot and save your money. We will never stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

South East of Rapid City 4-5 miles, with nice clubhouse and convenience store. Large swimming pool with two hot tubs, small restaurant next to pool area. All paved roads and the 10 mph speed limit is enforced, website has lots more info. We camped here in a camper.

What a sweet little rv park! Close to fishing, golf and Canyon Lake Park. The pictures of the lake on the website are of Canyon Lake Park. Staff was courteous and helpful. Gravel, level sites, wifi worked, pet friendly. The only negative was that the sites are quite close to each other. Our neighbor was unable to fully extend his awning. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older park, the sites are gravel but level. We have a 38' 5th wheel and we fit in the site with room to park the truck and room to spare. The sites are close together. The staff was very friendly. The Wi-Fi was terrific but we were parked right next to the office. Our son was in a lodge about a block from the office and was able to connect to the Wi-Fi. The park was a block from a large city park which we made use of for our daily walks. We would stay here again if the occasion presents itself. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The only thing this campground has going for it seems to be the location in town. The "lake" they make a big deal of having access to is a walk across a muddy field, or you can take the sidewalk about half a mile around to the city park side. The bathrooms were clean, but the changing area of the stalls were very tiny and had some weird homemade bench contraption you had to release and lock up. Most troubling was the fact that it's May and they still didn't have water on to most of the sites. Apparently they turn it off for the winter and didn't seem to hurried to turn it back on. They also didn't have picnic tables at every site. A camper said they put them up for the winter, but it was May so, again, it seemed unusual not to have them out. They have trees over many of the sites, but it seems to be in a very windy area because we had several small to medium size branches fall on our roof. The owner overall seemed sort of disinterested in the happiness of the guests. The impression I got was that they knew they had a good location so were relying on that and were happy to neglect everything else. Based solely on the attitude, I'm not sure I would stay there again. It's definitely not the worst you could do, but I really didn't feel welcome. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Pretty location, lots of mature trees, quiet, and handy to town. Laundry facilities are limited (two washers, four driers), but never seemed to be busy. Showers and washrooms well kept. Change area for showers a little tight, and would have benefited from better lighting, and having more than one hook for all your clothes and towel. Sites are pretty level, decent gravel, and grass. Internet was the best we've had in a year of traveling. Not only a very strong wireless signal, but also great bandwidth. We uploaded 10 pictures at a time to our journal in under two minutes. Kudos to Lake RV for recognizing the importance of this service, which so many parks have yet to catch onto. Water connection for our site was closer to the front of the site, and so required an extension hose. No big deal for those who travel prepared. We would certainly stop here again, and recommend it to others. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We got off to a bad start. They charged us 2.00 for cable television but when we got to our site the cable didn't work. After all being set up we moved to a different site. You can walk down to the lake here but it is not that impressive. There is not a lot of room for the dogs to run around. The price was too high for what you get. I think next time through, I would pick a different RV park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

If you're looking for a big park with swimming pools and fancy facilities this may not be the place for you. However, it is in a beautiful location adjacent to a beautiful lake, yet you are virtually in the middle of Rapid City. All sites are surrounded by huge shade trees, yet it is very clean. We did hear that a new hotel will be built in the next year; so make sure to ask about construction noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Shady, somewhat level sites. Sites are very close together so putting out an awning wasn't possible. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff. No pool or any entertainment aside from cable TV and wi-fi. We'll stay over on Hwy 16 somewhere when we come back this way. We stayed here thinking it'd be less crowded and it was. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

When making the reservation, I was told that the price for a pull-thru site was $34, but when we arrived, we were charged $36. Campground is okay if you just want a place to park your motorhome. We normally like to sit outside, relaxing and taking in the scenery, but the only view we had was the backside and trash bins of the hotel next door. Park has lots of trees, but they are mainly cottonwood, and the cottonwood was blowing so much, it looked like it was snowing. Only campground we have ever been to that they did not give you a flyer listing camp rules, location of trash, etc. It is on a lake, but you cannot see the water unless you walk around to the backside of the owner's home. Spaces are tight. The owner's home had a swingset in front of it, but as there was no sign or brochure, not sure if it is for the use of the guest's children or not. As stated before, it is okay if you do not plan to spend any time outside your motorhome, but if you like to sit outside, another park would be a better fit for you. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The Campground is located on a lake, but for viewing only. You have to drive/walk to the other side of the lake for access. The sites are shady but extremely small and there was little grass on most sites. The laundry facilities were not available for the week we were there and we had to walk a block to a laundramat. The women's bathroom had only one sink working the entire week. The facilities and grounds were clean. The camp store had ice and beverages available, but little else. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We will never reserve a space here again! Customer service was just terrible & we go south each winter, so we spend a lot of time in RV camps. I've never seen a more filthy and run-down place since we started RVing 2 years ago. The pool is empty (broken - a "broken pool"?? Right beside highway so you hear all the traffic 24/7. When we checked our bank account, they had charged us Rally Week rates - the Rally isn't for another 5 days. We came to have the first of my cataracts removed. Everyone else was charged thirty some dollars a night until the 8th. I'm sure they didn't think we'd notice. Just think how much money they could make by charging each camper $10-$20 more than advertised. That would be a lot of money for their dishonest office staff. This is a LOSER park - I'm doing you a favor telling you about it. There's even trash spread around the inner roads - beer cans, squashed paper drink cups, etc and the Rally doesn't start for another week. I cannot imagine trying to "relax & get away from it all" here. No, this is where you'll want to get away from! Sincerely! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here for three nights straight. The security light in our campsite was out, the ground is very uneven. On the first night we heard a great deal of noise from the highway right next to us and drunks were tripping over our wires at 2:30AM due to no lighting. Night two the water in our site was turned off "by mistake as they claim" and the shower had no hot water. After two complaints still no security light. Couple next to was fighting - took management 40 minutes to evict them. After night 3 we couldn't wait to leave this place. There are a ton of places to park within miles of this place. Access around the spots are extremely tight and the roads are garbage. Wi-Fi is extremely hit or miss. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Tent.

This park is excellent. The staff and owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The park is located 25 miles from Mt. Rushmore with shopping and dining very close. We stayed 2 weeks. Cable TV would have been nice, but we did not miss it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Attendant was very friendly and helpful. We were escorted to our site. Most sites are terraced into the hill. This is ok but the sites are narrow so it doesn't leave much room around the rig. We paid for a pull through site but the attendant cheerfully told us we would have to unhook! We were going to anyway but still. The interior roads are rough pavement, fine gravel covers the sites. Wi-Fi was advertised and the attendant told us there are three connections to try. All three are very weak. For the amount charged, we felt overcharged for this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good access: close to Mt. Rushmore sights and yet close to Rapid City for dining etc. I would call this more of an adult park though families were present. Nice pool and very clean restrooms. The park is kept clean and orderly. Concerns, if any, are promptly addressed. A bad storm came through on my last night and I needed a quick repair. They put me in touch with a repair man who was prompt, efficient and reasonable. The best thing about the Lazy J is the people who work here. From the owner on down, they are attuned to their guests ever courteous and smiling. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great staff, accommodating for bigger rigs. Site are narrow, easy to get level, but do not leave much room for picnicking or walking around your rig due to terracing on a steep hill. Tent area looked especially nice. Laundry and rec room very good. Views over surrounding area great. Close to Rapid City. Rate was summer high, Good Sam discount. We'd stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I will start with the positive point. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the park is close to town. The negative unfortunately outweighs the positive. They say they are big rig friendly, they are NOT. The sites are short and very close on a steep incline on the side of a steep hill. When you pull into your site it is very close not to tumble over the hill into the next site below. You can not walk around your rig since the hillside going up hill makes it difficult. There is no place to park your tow vehicle or towed car. The interior roads are in terrible shape. The trash dumpster was running over onto the surrounding ground and left for animals to make a mess. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a month while getting things taken care of for our new domicile state. Since we were not here during tourist season, the park was pretty quiet, and empty except for a few short term people. The owners are the nicest people you want to meet though, greeted you by name. We made good friends with them. The park is terraced, with a nice view of Rapid City below from every site. They were working on the place while we were here, getting ready for tourist season, leveling the sites, painting, really working to make it nice. Not the parks fault, they had a problem with disease in some trees, and had to cut some down before it spread to others. Overall, we liked staying here, and we would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Well maintained with a very friendly and helpful staff. We were a little put off by the lack of green space in the campground proper, but the excellent view overlooking the city and the other virtues of this establishment outweighed this issue. Highly recommended. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Campground is near the city but far from Rushmore and other monuments. Terraced into a steep hill, it is 45% crumbling asphalt, 50% worn gravel and 5% grass. We were promised site Wi-Fi access, even given a code, but later told it didn't reach that far. Pool on the highway was unoccupied. Sites were narrow, not enough room for toad/tower. Vehicles parked at top of hill blocked exit for big rigs; we had to back down to another route. Worst part: the $42 rate was a crowning insult. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites were very tight and not level. There was no grass and all sites were tiered, making walking difficult. WiFi did not reach our site. Staff was not very helpful, although we did have an escort to our site. On a positive note, the view was spectacular. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The views from this campground are amazing! The sites are reasonably spaced (although do NOT get one on the end!) The check-in process was fast and efficient. No fires are allowed, however they have fire rings available for use. This is a good thing, and a bad thing as fire rings encourage late night gatherings which tend to be noisy. We were parked next to a group of 3 or 4 units who stayed up half the night having a grand time around the fire drinking and partying (it was the day after the Sturgis Bike Rally). A call to the office got them quieted down around 11pm. Other than that, all was fine. There are 2 ways to get to the park from I-90: exit 61 and exit 57. Exit 61 is longer, but far easier. Also, our GPS from exit 57 took us the "scenic" way via Skyline Road (the name says it all!) The park is very convenient to Mt. Rushmore, Chief Crazy Horse, and Custer State Park (all must-sees). We camped here in a Motorhome.

The owners were so helpful and friendly. This park was quiet at night and was a nice facility. We really enjoyed it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are jammed together, and there is little grass if any, in most sites. Shade is from your neighbor, as there are few trees. But the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The park served its purpose for our trip, but doubt we would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are narrow: our picnic table leaned to the side because it was falling off our "terraced" site. Hookups were good, restrooms very clean. No grass, only asphalt. WiFi worked, but was slow. Check-in staff was friendly and efficient. They brag about the terraced sites, giving each unit a view. Our view was right into the neighbor's living room. I think it is spin to explain the hills in the campground. We would try another park next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Although this hilltop, terraced campground appears to be well over 20 years old, it is generally well maintained. Only about a quarter of the campsites have a lawn, the rest are asphalt and gravel. The main bath house has been recently remodeled with upscale fixtures and was spotlessly clean. There was excellent water pressure and a strong Wi-Fi signal, although the internet connection seemed to fade out occasionally. There is a small pool and a small play area. The office staff was friendly and accommodating. Although the campground’s relatively high price reflects its proximity to Mount Rushmore, about 25 miles to the south, it is still a better value than the very expensive Rapid City KOA. There is an excellent off-leash dog park about two and one-half miles away in downtown Rapid City, along the north bank of Rapid Creek. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 5 nights, the owner is very knowledgeable of the area. She gave us suggestions as what is worth visiting and not. We enjoyed our stay. We would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Good campground, though the sites were mostly a bit short for long rigs. Laundry was OK and we had a good satellite shot. We would stay again, though the price is a bit high. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall the park was nice. The spot we had was right by the front near the highway. Our a/c's took away any highway noise. There was a tree in the way so we could not go forward to leave, we had to back out. We have a 40 ft motorhome. The people in the office were very nice and friendly. They led us to our spot upon arriving. Each site is gravel and asphalt mix. There are very few trees throughout the park if you are looking for shade. The entrance is backwards - you go in on your left (northside) and go out on your left (southside). We camped here in a Motorhome.

Schizophrenic review follows: On the plus side, location is great, beautiful views, not too much hwy noise, staff is mostly helpful, price is right. On the minus side, the "prior owners" have had over a year to fix the damage allegedly caused by the interim owners and have not. Showers have only one control--ON or OFF. The water pressure and temperature are chose for you. A toilet tank lid is broken with sharp edges facing user. Huge holes in the walls. They "fixed" the men's room stoppage by turning the water off and walking away, until someone asked them to please repair the toilet. (There may be better facilities in other areas of the park, but sometimes you need a toilet that isn't a big hike away.) Park needs owners who are good with facilities as well as good with people. We would not stay here again, even with the great price and great views. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Terraced park & we were on the top level which had excellent view of Rapid City. Some road noise if you're close to the road (US16) but bearable, water pressure (and taste) not the best. Bathrooms closed for remodeling/updating. Very clean laundry room & rec room. Very friendly & helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was repossessed in June by former owner and family. They have not had time to fix up the neglect by foreclosed-on buyer, but they will work on it. Park was quiet, has view of Rapid City, and a beautiful pool. Owners are very nice and we would stay again. Only downside is baths are older and need freshening: but were clean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an older park, but well worth the stay. Prior owners have taken the park back over. They are extremely friendly and helpful. The view is outstanding. You overlook the whole city. Don't let the first look at the road down into the campground scare you. It is okay for even big motorhomes. It is centrally located which is perfect. The trees are nice and there are some lots with grass and the two layers down are grassy and great for tents. We had plenty of room for slides and awnings. We were able to get our tv dish receptions and the owners were willing to move us if we were not able to, but we had no problems. Not much for children to do, but for us it was a nice quiet stop after a long days ride. We will stay here again when in the area. We camped here in a 24 ft van with a tow and were in a pull thru, so did not have to unhook to get into our spot. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Some aspects of this park were nice i.e.: view, pool, game room. But because it sits on a hill side spaces are terraced and not very wide. Some spots are hard to maneuver into. Thought management were a little unfriendly! Will not stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I wish we had called ahead to get directions because we were driving south towards this campground. There is a steep grade leaving Rapid City on hwy16 that I would have preferred to avoid. Campground was a nice park with good amenities. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Sites were tiny though and the entire park is terraced asphalt. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed a month in a site overlooking Rapid City. Although there is almost no grass in the park the view more than makes up for the asphalt atmosphere. Owners very helpful and are working hard to upgrade the facility. Most sites are large enough but somewhat close together. Wi Fi is excellent except in the lower section of the campground. We don't spend much time in the campgrounds when traveling so this park was great for touring the Black Hills and Rapid City. Would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I rented by the month at $400. a month. Older park that needs some work on the plumbing and water lines. I stayed 2 months. Great centrally located park, near the city but out far enough to enjoy attractions that are within a 50 mile radius. I enjoyed those parked near and around me. Several campers stayed several months. Either working or just came to visit the area. Site was fairly level. Park is on a slight hill. Sites are close but I was comfortable. Each site had a picnic table. Water is hard water. I would not drink the water. Leaves white spots on clothes and dishes. Some trees for shade in the lower half. I would revisit this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are tight - our rig is 32' and there was barely enough space for the toad. Bigger rigs had to park toads or tow vehicles at park entrance. Sites not completely level, but doable. No grass, some trees. Wi-fi was solid, laundry clean and fast. We parked near the highway, so road noise was noticable. Everybody very friendly. TV is off antenna, and is limited but good reception. Cell phone signals excellent. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The sites here were terrible, all gravel, too small, not even room for a picnic table, dirty, dusty, when you steeped out of your motorhome, you have to hold on to someone or something or you would fall down the uneven grade. This park needs to close! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is located right off Hwy 16 just outside of Rapid City at the top of a hill. The sites are very narrow, with barely enough room for a picnic table in some spaces. There is good WiFi access here and a view of the valley, but I wouldn't want to stay here for a lengthy visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

During our Yellowstone National Park trip, we arrived pretty late in the evening in Rapid City, South Dakota. After a full day of driving and hiking the family was pretty tired. We had no reservations, no idea what the campground was like. We pulled in and were greeted by some very nice and friendly folks. We pull 29 foot Travel Trailer with a Chevy Suburban and had no problems navigating and pulling into the pull through sites. The kids enjoyed the recreation room, the wife thought the laundry facilities were clean and the restrooms and showers were also clean. We thought the pool was a little worn and showed its age. My family absolutely loved the view of the city from our campsite. Overall, we were pleased with the campground, however, I might have had a different opinion if the campground had been full. The sites were very close together. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was a nice park with an excellent view of the city as it was on a hill. All the pull-through sites that we could see where paved and pretty level. The wireless internet access was nice and fairly reliable. They had a pool but when we were there, it was not filled (late spring and it had snowed two weeks before we got there). The laundry facilities were nice as well. There is a little playground for kids. TV reception was excellent off the antenna as the park is about a mile or so from the transmission towers. Plenty of trees as well, but they were spitting sap when we were there. We stayed here in late spring '04. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Friendly staff, close to everything but streets inside park were very narrow, hard to maneuver motor home many hills and ruts. Sites are large but with all the lodge pole pines and terribly unlevel site we had a hard time getting set up. We had to move forward or backward a couple of times to get level and open out slides. Once settled we were very happy there. We loved the wind in the pines. Not a place to go if you want to use your patio, dirt/mud rocks and as I said nothing is level but they have a pool area to sit around if that's your thing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not much grass between sites. Sites are terraced and very close together and many near the busy highway. The wifi, an important thing for me, is weak. Good Verizon phone coverage, so I used the tethering option. Handy to Mount Rushmore and other spots. Very clean and new restrooms and showers. Recycling bins for cans and such, which is a rarity. Friendly and helpful staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the best parks I have ever stayed in. Clean everything. Clean showers, big too. Clean laundry room, clean pool, hot tub, and sauna. Did I mention this place was clean? Only complaint would be noise from the road but we just ran our fans all night to drown it out. The rate I listed was for 6 people. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for two nights on our recent Black Hills trip. Overall a nice campground and a very convenient location. Lots of shade and fairly roomy. Nice newer bathrooms, a good pool, and playground. On the downside was the constant traffic noise. Lots of trucks at wide open throttle chugging up the grade. This place would be awesome if it was a mile or two off the highway. Also, our concrete pad (which looked fairly new) was way out of level. Not a huge deal, but it was a surprise. We liked it, but the traffic noise was considerable. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park was nice because it was shaded by mature trees and had more of a camping feel than a lot of the RV "parking lots" I have stayed in before. The bathrooms and showers were not that clean, and most of the time the stalls were out of toilet paper. The $1.00 pancake breakfast was a nice touch, and the wi-fi worked well, though we were right up front in a pull through. The pad for our site was not level at all, and it was short and narrow. The staff is friendly and was helpful when we asked questions about things to do in the area. I'm giving it a 7 because the cable was limited to only a few channels and none of them worked well and because of the poor shape the pad was in. For the money I expected more. Very convenient location for Black Hills attractions (1/4 mile to Bear Country). Campground seems to be geared mostly to tents, pop-ups and travel trailers. Very limited number of Big Rig sites and most of those face a heavily traveled, major highway. Very hilly location with uneven sites. Good food at complimentary pancake breakfast each morning. Friendly and helpful staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an all-terrain RV park. Bring your 4x4 vehicles! A couple of the roads in the park were so steep that I had to put my truck in 4WD to keep from sliding down the hill. To say that the spaces were "tight" is a gross understatement. The sites are heavily shaded and the trees make it a real challenge to get into the sites. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

An excellent balance of a state/national park campground feeling and the amenities of a RV Park/resort. Beautiful wooded facility, very shaded and peaceful feeling. Well maintained bathrooms, walking trails and wifi! Although, you have to be pretty close to the office to pick it up. Our cellphones though Verizon and T Mobile also had decent signal. The staff is super friendly too. During our stay in early October 2007, we were virtually the only ones there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground was convenient to everything in the Rapid City area. It was just down the street from a good RV repair shop and Bear Country USA. We did go into Keystone and take the 1880 Train Ride to Hill City. Our recommendation is don't do this attraction. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Mystery Mountain was a great RV site. We had a blast! The pool was clean, the bathrooms were excellent, there is a nice hiking trail right in the campground. The host was very knowledgable and seemed to like to give good information on what attractions were worth the money and the ones that were possibly a waste of money. Exceptionally clean and modern campground. The $24 rate was for off season and we stayed almost 2 weeks. The sites are diverse with lots of pine trees. We shall return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent 5 nights here in the off season and pretty much had the place to ourselves - I think there were 7 or 8 other campers. Anyway, the facilities are very well maintained and almost look new. I commented on that to the owner and he said they were older but that they work on everything during the off season. We loved this place because it is really wooded, unlike a lot of campgrounds in the area. However, it should be noted that the roads through the campground are very narrow and I can't imagine how large rigs make it to the back areas of the park- we were in a pop-up camper and still found it tight. Nonetheless, the densely wooded aspect of this campground is what I like. They have a small store that has a reasonable selection of supplies and there is a full service RV dealership just about a mile away. This place is conveniently located in between Rapid City and Mount Rushmore. They have wireless Internet access but it's really only accessible by driving up to the front office area. There is a small park and mini golf course in the front of the campground. We plan on staying here again in 'season' when there's more to do. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Nice large campground with diverse types of sites - from relatively secluded tent sites in the back to level, pull-through concrete pads with full hookups up toward the front. Wooded and nice even though it's right off the highway. Pancake breakfasts were cheap and delicious. Staff was flexible and accommodating and allowed us to use an open, alternate site one afternoon while we had emergency repairs performed on our coach. Lots of road within the campground for biking - the kids loved it. Loved the Black Hills area; we would stay at this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We only stayed overnight but it looks like this would be a fun place for families with kids. Pretty, rustic mountain setting. Drawbacks: 1) Access by big rigs, while possible, is pretty tight; 2) If you're in a site near the highway, the noise is very bad most all night long. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy access sites are near the road. The rest of the campground is under beautiful tall pine trees. The sites are decent size. The campground is on the side of a mountain and the roads are dirt so they weren't the easiest to drive on. Unless you have a truck or 4 wheel drive, stick to the sites near the front. The pool and hot tub were nice, camp store very reasonable. Campground very quiet at night even though it's on Mt. Rushmore Highway. Good pancake breakfasts. We camped here in a camper.

This is a nice KOA, convenient to I90 and the highway to Mt Rushmore. We had a pull thru site which was a bit tight, but the staff were helpful in trimming a few tree branches. The staff were friendly and the amenities are nice (pool, dog area, pancake breakfast). It is great if you are just stopping for a few nights to see Wall Drug, Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Pretty average KOA. We paid extra for a paved site with patio and furniture. Most are just gravel with grass on the side. Friendly site. I90 easily accessable so we could do more than Mt. Rushmore. KOA only about 2.5 miles from interstate. Easy in and out. Daily all you can eat pancake breakfast ($). Friendly and helpful staff. Clean park. Located on top of a hill so there are good views. Very little street noise. Would Stay again. Price include KOA discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for several weeks while touring the area. Our check in was very friendly and helpful. We were provided maps, information about the area, and where to find groceries, etc. Then we were led to a long, level, pull-through with a large tree. It was a 50 amp site on the lower level where we were able to use our satellite. We had no difficulty maneuvering interior gravel roads with our 37' fifth wheel, and sites had adequate room between them. The two restrooms, laundry, and individual showers were always very clean. Iron and ironing boards were provided. There were two nice playgrounds, giant checkers/chess set, and other activities. There were people at breakfast every day, and others enjoying the heated pool in mid September. Several cable stations, electric, Verizon, and wi-fi were fine. Sites range from basic to deluxe depending on what you want to pay for. They do water, so there was a small puddle or two here and there. Flying J is at exit 61, and straight out of the park about 1 mile down St. Patrick St. is a Sinclair with the cheapest diesel in the area. This is a great location to visit Devil's Tower, Badlands, and everything in between. An information center is across from the Flying J. It was more than what we like to pay, but nothing is cheap in the area. We would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical KOA. Facilities are in good shape, although our unpaved spot (paved is an option, but costs more) had mud puddles on it. Free internet that worked very well, the cable TV was also free and had the basic selections. They also have a nice little dog run. We had a leaky water spigot, but they fixed it in 10 minutes. They charge for more than 2 folks (which is common) but also for each pet per day ($2) which I cannot understand since it does not cost them anything. We would probable stop again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night in a cabin. The managers kindly reserved ours for late arrival and it was very close to both the office and bath/showers, which was great. We enjoyed a pancake breakfast in the morning and visited with several staff members who were very friendly and helpful. The campground is well maintained with roomy RV sites. My husband and I own a motorhome as well, and we would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

A typical KOA campground with gravel roads and parking areas. The spots were level and easy pull-in and out. The park is very quiet at night. There is minimal shade as most of the trees are fairly small. I found most of the staff to be very friendly. The showers, toliet area, and laundry are clean and well maintained. In fact, all look as though they had been refurbished within the last year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Reading the reviews on this campground is like being in the twilight zone.  It must be location, location, location in this park as the old saying goes.  Making an online reservation is one of the high points of KOAs and it was Labor Day weekend so we booked it.  Our site was a 30 amp, pull through.  The staff was very helpful in the check-in telling us which roads to take to avoid tight turns in our 45'.  And then the road getting into the site was ridiculous.  We had to go between a fence and an electric pole, which we nudged, and had to unhook to get by.  The pole had had a few prior encounters.   The site was SO narrow that we could step out of the door right into the fire ring.  12" of grass between gravel sites.  That's narrow.  So if you're coming here, the site will make a difference.  For the price, this was bad value.  It is well located for shopping near Cabelas, Sam's and Wal-Mart and downtown, but that's the highpoint. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Staying here now, it's Sunday, we're heading to Mount Rushmore today. We got here from Yellowstone yesterday. I slept like a baby. The sites do vary based on what you choose. We have good Wi-Fi, cable, fire-ring, park BBQ, cell service and patio furniture at our pull through site. Rather larger park and well maintained. Our site is level and most appear level. Breakfast is similar to most KOA's, if you venture out however there are many restaurants, grocery stores, theaters, malls, etc. Our 5th wheel is 37 feet long I found it easy to maneuver the park. The pool is large and clean, laundry facilities are clean. Overall all I really liked this park. It is difficult to find on some GPS systems. We chose this KOA instead of others closer to Rushmore so we could access the city anytime we want with in seconds. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The positives: Wi-Fi and cable TV are good in the premium sites, no cable TV in the other sites. Convenient location. Fairly well maintained. The negatives: 1. There are few trees, so there is almost no shade. This is not a new park, it's just a park that never planted enough trees. 2. Nobody told me that this place is less than 1/2 mile from Black Hills Speedway, so Friday and Saturday nights it's a noise-fest. Really, really loud. Incredibly loud. Races started around 9 PM. God knows when it'll be over. 3. The dog park is very small. There was a big space available, and they fenced off a tiny part of it. Sure, it's got "things" to do, but there's no water and it's not big enough for dogs to actually run. It's like 40x30 feet. Plus, the gate latch requires two hands to operate. Poorly planned. It's not a real dog park. Bottom line: We decided to stay at this park for 5 days, based on the positive reviews we read here. I regret this choice. I've driven by some of the other parks in this area, seen lots of shade trees and quiet, wooded areas. I'm very disappointed and frustrated. I've visited dozens of RV parks since going full-time last September. This place is really a poor value for the money. I don't recommend it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you're looking for the camping experience, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a nice base camp for your family, KOA is perfect. We had never been to one before and were hesitant. We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities available. The pool was clean and large. They had game such as volley ball and bocce ball available for the asking. The staff was wonderful. Even my teens were impressed. All facilities were clean and modern. A caveat: ask for a treed spot when making reservations. The lots can be small and many are un-treed. Also, lampposts stay on all night, so an eye mask helps if you're in a tent. It's very quiet and relaxing with a great camp store. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Typical KOA. It has the amenities that you would expect at a KOA. The only complaint that I had with our site were the trees. A tree was located on both sides of the site. The trees were on the exit end of the site so it was impossible to get out without scraping the sides of the 5th wheel. This problem does not apply to all sites. We will stay there again. KOA's have a high level of known facilities that are clean and safe. This KOA is no exception. There are plenty of different levels to choose from, we pampered ourselves and took a 50 Amp site with patio and patio furniture. Price dropped a ten (rating) to a nine. Our previous night was a ten for facility and price. We were here for two nights as we transferred our AZ for SD drivers licenses and pick up our mail. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This KOA was very "handy" to all the sites in this area: Badlands, Black Hills, Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park. Also downtown was a short distance. Restrooms were clean, showers were clean, laundry was good, site was good (discussion later), the park served breakfast which was great! So far so good. I would have rated a"10", but our site had a tree that should have been trimmed. It hung on the RV, and while we were pulling out. We have a dog, and this park (as well as others) should be prepared to suggest a pet day care. We could not take our dog to all the sites in the area and leave her in the car. Please do homework and be able to recommend a pet day care! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the first time we have stayed here in about 10 years. The facilities (buildings, utilities, pool, sites, etc.) have been kept up-to-date. Everything looked as if it had been refurbished in recent years. Unfortunately, the pool is completely inadequate for a park this size. I can't imagine trying to use it when there are a hundred kids in the park. We had a FHU site with cable TV that was also roof satellite friendly. We were also able to get free WiFi in the RV. As others have mentioned the sites are mostly gravel and some of the roads had signs of rutting problems. There are also play areas for kids and pets, a basketball court, a pancake breakfast, and decent view of the Black Hills. This is a nice park with good facilities, but (like others) I found the price to be too high. I'll go to the newer, less crowded resort in Spearfish for this price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The dog play area is a nice thought, but otherwise, I was disappointed. My reservation was fouled up, the grass needed mowing, the trash from the last camper had not been policed up, and the picnic table was so weatherbeaten as to be unusable. As someone else pointed out, the sewer connection is way out of place: it took 3 sections of hose to hook up. Ridiculously overpriced. Believe it or not, the price listed includes a KOA discount. I wouldn't stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

KOA's tend to be more pricey than their competitors, but this one jacked the price up for the motorcycle rally going on nearby. Park is huge. Our pull-through site had the sewer connection inconveniently located requiring the use of a hose extension. Did have a great dog walk. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very easy access. This was an unexpected stop for us on our trip due to slide out problems. Very enjoyable stay. Awesome enclosed dog play area for our dogs to run around in. Great Wi-Fi connection. Clean laundry facilities. We will definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at this campground for the 2nd time. We were here in 2008, and were pleased with it, so we returned again. We were a bit disappointed this time, as we were hoping to be close to the bathrooms again. We didn't get a spot so close, but we had good weather so it wasn't so bad. We used the laundry, bathrooms, and showers and thought they were clean. This is a very nice campground located within the City and close to stuff (1/2 hr away from Mt. Rushmore). We camped here in a Motorhome.

The "new" large pull throughs have completely misplaced utilities. The water and sewer are located at the very back of the site, with the sewer connection located more than 25 ft behind the bumper of my rig after pulling forward only enough to barely keep my towed vehicle out of the road behind me. When I asked to be located to another site, they informed me they had no others available, but that they would gladly sell me another sewer hose to connect with my own hose so it would reach. The person who led me to my site only shook their head and quietly told me that the owners who built the campground "weren't RV'ers" and wouldn't listen to those who were, when the built the sites. I believe it. This is a premium price to pay, and that should be reflected in the design and amenities of the campground. Unfortunately, it is not. We would most likely not camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good, clean KOA park. Showers, laundry were immaculate, good on site amenities and spacious sites. No cable, check in procedure was a bit awkward. Stayed here for a week, great place to stay in Rapid City. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Needed 3 sections of sewer hose to hook up in the pull through sites. Never been to a campground that had the sewer hook up so far away. Water pressure was weak. Laundry was clean and neat. WiFi was slow and AT&T aircard did not work also. Will stay here again knowing the problems. Has a friendly staff and rental cars on site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is well maintained, with friendly staff and sketchy WiFi. It's located about a mile from an automobile race track. If you want to rest on a Friday night, go somewhere else. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent campground with very helpful staff: walked our dogs while we did a Black Hills day trip and were very helpful when we had a brief motorhome "issue". Lots of space in the area we were assigned. Signage to the campground could be improved but that's a minor matter. We enjoyed our several days here and will definitely stay here again. This was a very nice campground. Showers were great; laundry was great; has a fenced-in dog area and is very quiet. It was a little pricey but was in a central location to see all the area sites along with towns in the region. We will probably stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fee for the Campground includes $4.00 for 2 pets, $5.00 for cable TV, including the Keep On Adding discount. The small fenced pet park had no human bench to sit on. I was first assigned a site that had a tree blocking the pull through. If I had pulled through it I would have damaged my fifth wheel on leaving. I could see where others had damaged the tree and most likely their rigs. Spaces were level but close. A nice touch was the wrought iron table and 4 chairs with patio and pretty flowers. The 60 channel cable TV was excellent but $5.00 is outrageous. Wi-Fi okay. Laundry facilities okay $1.25 to wash $1.00 to dry. The pancakes were rubbery and my wife 86'd her biscuits and gravy. The park is way over priced. The extra charges still irritate me. Would stay elsewhere next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The sites here are cozy and protected. Great trees and the sun-shades on the picnic tables were a nice touch. Friendly staff and clean facilities plus a well stocked camp store completed the place. We really enjoyed the tasty, well priced, pancake breakfasts! They have recently installed a fenced pet exercise area: perfect for the dogs to enjoy running around a little without their leashes. We stayed multiple nights and really enjoyed it. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is a lovely park. Sites are level and quite roomy. Wifi works great and there are 75 cable channels. The staff is helpful and friendly and the store is large and well stocked. The park is near some highways so there is some road noise but nothing to keep you awake at night. It is one of the nicest parks we have stayed in. Would have had a 10 without the road noise. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is with KOA discount. Good breakfast deals, rental cars on site. Workers in office were frustrated with a lot of business and decided not to answer the phones when they rang. Sites were level and not too close. We stayed two nights and would stay here again We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this campground when it was open during season, and through the winter when it had limited access. It is well staffed, clean and very friendly. Very family and pet oriented. I preferred the paved sites and gravel sites up top versus the lower sites at bottom. They tended to be exceptionally muddy during rain due to poor drainage. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an extremely well maintained campground with an outstanding staff. The showers, bathrooms, laundry and public areas were spotless, as were the grounds. The sites were somewhat close together but acceptable. The management and employees were great, friendly and helpful. They have a great breakfast deal every morning. I would definitely use this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is campground is well maintained. The staff (and there were plenty in the off-season) were very helpful to resolve problems with our rig. The cable TV signal was ok, but not the best I have seen. This campground is hard to find with a GPS because the roads have moved in the area, so make sure you watch the signs. This campground seemed sterile, there is not much to it but tightly packed well leveled sites. Tent campers would like this, the shelters provided for them seemed nice. Make sure to check out the great $1 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfasts! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The kid at the front desk did not bother telling us that the water-and-electric site he assigned us is just barely big enough for our 32 foot TT with slide room. Thanks to our slide, the folks next door cannot use their campfire ring (it's nearly under our trailer), and on the passenger side, you will slam straight into the picnic shelter if you aren't careful exiting the trailer. The same kid also neglected to say they were charging an extra $2 for our dog; that the site did not have cable TV; and in spite of my asking for two nights' stay, he wrote up only one. With dozens of competing campgrounds in the Rapid City/Rushmore area, KOA should be offering better service. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has an excellent store, laundry and games room. The pool is warm and large enough for a good swim. The sites are gravel with small shade trees. Half of the park has covered picnic tables. The garbage truck came twice while we were here - and we only camped for one night - once at 7:45. We were there during bike week so there were breakfasts and dinners offered at the canteen. We would stay here again as it was close to Mount Rushmore, Keystone and I-90. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park good for overnight, and it is just a short drive to the monuments. Very good pancake breakfast, wifi worked fine, sites a little uneven and a bit narrow. However, they are adding bigger sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best KOA campgrounds we have camped in. We camped in a motorhome without a tow, had a narrow but adequate site that was level and had some grass and one tree. We chose this campground because they rent cars, which we rented and toured the area. The location was great, the campground was clean, and the people were very nice. We also enjoyed the daily pancake breakfast ($1.00). We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here the night before July 3. Some serious expansion is in progress in the park to make more space available. Check in folks were friendly, and they have a great breakfast deal. Sites are barren and close together. Sewer connections are far and deep. I saw several folks with new hardware/hoses to accommodate the unusually deep or distant set up. Staff is diligent and the camp was very clean. OK but expensive for an overnighter. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground for the family. Plenty to see and do inside the campground and in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The entry into the campground is well designed to bring in big rigs efficiently. The desk staff had a lot of knowledge about the area attractions. The sites were clean and level. Hooking up was easy. Entry and exiting the sites was easy. This campground is centrally located in Rapid City in the heart of all the attractions. The park offers a neat pancake cookout on their patio for a small charge. It was nice to have a cooked breakfast in order to see the surrounding sites. The shower setups were unique and very clean. This park is able to accommodate a large number of big rigs in an efficient manner. Bunnies roamed around the campground nibbling on the grass. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This without a doubt is the best KOA Campground we've ever stayed at. So much for kids to do- Free Mini-Golf, Free swimming & hot tub, Free Jumper area, Free Water slide. The Pancake breakfast works out to $2.50 if you have sausage with it. There's horseback riding (on site), and little stores up front (ice cream etc...) Campfires are allowed. Wood at $5.50 a small bundle. Sites are close together, even on pull thurs. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 5 nights in mid May and had 1 free night. The KOA website, where we made the reservation, does not tell you there is a $2 per night fee for each pet. We travel with 3 dogs, so an extra $6 per night. The restrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. Showers are in individual rooms for good privacy, but a little on the small side. We did not try the pancake breakfast as the eating area is outdoors and it was pretty cold and windy. Snowed one day. Cable TV reception was poor on some channels and good on others. If we were in the area again we would probably try one of the other many, many campgrounds there. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is another tightly spaced KOA. It is well managed and the staff is efficient. The restrooms were immaculate. They have a great $1 all you can eat pancake breakfast. By the time you add coffee & bacon or sausage, its about $4 but still a bargain. It's not a friendly tenter campground. Our site was right along the road and we had traffic driving very nearby. The campground is near I-90 and another busy city road, but traffic noise is not a big issue. Be sure to go hear the cowboy poet if he is presenting the night you are there. He will also be making your pancakes the next morning. We camped here in a Tent.

Typical KOA. Overpriced with dusty roads and un-paved sites. Few 50 AMP sites, or cable TV sites, available. Wi-Fi is miserable. There are far, far better places to stay. Not even good for an overnighter. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed on a 3 night promo, the 90 minute sales spill lasted 2 hours with a lot of high pressure which made us decide against buying in. Internet is very poor, the site we had was very small, otherwise it was in a great location. I hope they continue to improve, we may reconsider. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I camped here for 14 days, including the $29.95 for 2 nights/3 days deal. You have to attend a sales pitch on the first full day for a membership that ranges from $5k to $10k. There looks to be some value there for a frequent traveler, but it wasn't a good fit for me in the next year or two. The daily price is $42--high for what they offer. The camp is nice enough and the owner/manager is friendly, but in this industry friendliness is basic and most of my campgrounds have been wonderfully friendly and helpful. I felt they fell below grade here. Most of the "staff" is the sales force at the clubhouse--they're useless unless you want to buy a membership. The staff is really only at the front check-in building. The camp is lopsided, with the pool, "clubhouse" (a room with two sofas), laundry at the front of the property with all the spaces spreading out largely behind it. So a lot of spaces are far away from it. The pool is small with some picnic benches. I've seen much better facilities elsewhere for less. They have at least two playgrounds and at least two satellite shower/bath facilities. I'm not sure if those had laundry too. The Wi-Fi is useless. I am rushing to type this because it is 8:30 AM and this is the first time I've been able to use the Internet in 4 days. I expect by 9:30 AM it will be useless again. I mentioned the problems to three people, including the owner. I got the impression that Internet is that mystical thing kids are always playing with. AKA, not worth investing in. The access point IDs itself as a $50 Linksys router--that might be a ruse, or it may explain why the Internet is lousy or just unusable. The only way I can use it at all is sitting in my car at the clubhouse in the early morning or after midnight. Honestly, we have little signal at the back third of the park (lopsided park with the antennae at one end). and often we never get an IP address. No cable TV, but basic 7 channels over air. My site was very unlevel but it had three trees so I that was of more value. My auto-leveler had to lift me off 5 out of 6 of my wheels to get level. Many of the sites have no shade at all. Water pressure is good and no electrical or sewage issues. Sewage is at the back of the sites, so I needed a 25 foot sewer run. It is convenient, right on 16 and you've got sites to see in almost every direction the crow flies, which makes it ideal. I would not stay here again, except for a desperate 1-2 day stay. With fires closing roads around us, vicious storms rolling in at night, and just the need to research for things to do and good restaurants, any longer stay you really want Internet. The TV news didn't help (we don't know where "Region 23" or "Myrtle" fires mean). I also had Verizon outages at this camp. Some days I couldn't make any calls despite 4 bars. When I went into town it worked. Something must be up with the local tower. There are other camps that offer better at $42 a night. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Camped here on the promotional $29 for 2 nights/3 days. Asked for and got a third night at no extra charge. To get this rate, you need to listen to a membership sales pitch. For a park that is trying to be big-time, there are a number of disappointments. I was given a pull-through site without any shade trees and high winds on the hillside made using a canopy impossible. It was 100+° during my mid-July stay. My site was impossible to level and I discovered my neighbors sewage line was two steps from my picnic table. Not having cable TV was a bummer, though I had no trouble getting local broadcast stations. Camp store was grossly overpriced and it is about 15 miles to Rapid City. It is a good idea to stock up before arrival. The place is large, with long walks to amenities such as the pool and pavilion. If you are interested, cabin and tent camping is available. WiFi is OK but can become weak at times. Cell service is excellent. About the best thing about this park is it's location. It is ten minutes from Mt. Rushmore and close to Custer State Park and Black Hills National Forest. There are also any number of local attractions nearby including a petting zoo, bear theme park, farm petting zoo, and more so kids can be kept happy. But it just isn't what it it is trying to be. Certainly a decent place to camp and certainly not one I would care to visit without the discount rate. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Rushmore Shadows is a great campground!! I did a lot of research before selecting this place and frankly, after driving past the other campgrounds in the area, we certainly selected the right one! The campground is very clean and meticulously maintained. The staff were friendly and when we had an emergency with our dog, they were able to help me get him into a great area Vet! We will definitely stay here again in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our space (107) slopes badly toward the rear: rear stabilizer fully extended and front stabilizer barely extended 4.5” rise to bring right side up to level. Most spaces looked fairly level. All spaces are gravel with a lot of grass around picnic table and fire ring at each space. No cable. Five over-the-air channels with one network, two or three PBS, and one or two others. Power cord extended 25’ under trailer to shared hook-up box. I had always thought about getting an extension cord but never really came close to ever having to use one. I will get one (or make one) prior to our next outing after this experience. Delivered 122 volts the entire time. Sewer and water were perfectly placed for our trailer. Water was good. We do use a filter. Water pressure seemed low, but tolerable. I was too lazy to take a pressure reading, and it was mostly okay. The park is immaculate. It has the right amount of manicured grass and trees. The staff was very friendly. I used the clubhouse bathroom. It was also immaculate. No paper towels. Just a blow dryer – which I can’t stand. I did not use the showers, but they looked nice and clean. A very quiet park, even though it was “Bike Week” and the place was full of loud Harleys. We stayed here for free. We had to listen to a 90 minute, low pressure presentation on one of the camping clubs. Gated and closes at 10 pm. You get an unlock code in case you return late. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice, large park. Only had 30 amp available. Sites are long, but narrow. Picnic tables sit next to each neighbors sewer hookup. Nice facilities with a swimming pool, two basketball courts, large park-like grassy area, paved roads between sites. Sites are gravel. Lots of grasshoppers and crickets. The 30 amp was an issue as it was very hot and humid and we needed to run the AC pretty constantly. Laundry room was clean, but costs $2.00 for each wash and $2.00 for each dry. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a real nice park. The location is excellent. We would stay here again and send friends and relatives. Our only complaint and that is that behind camp ground there is a house that has yapping dogs that wake you up early in morning. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I stayed here for the Sturgis rally. Drove my Hog all the way from Seattle. I am a member of Thousand Trails and Resorts of Distinction but during the rally all bets are off. But that was okay. The campground is about 40 miles south of Sturgis so you are away from all the big time partying, if that is what you want. What makes this campground so good is it is centrally located to all the major rides, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore etc. The campground was very well maintained. The cabin we stayed in can hold up to 5 but it would have been way crowded. We only had two and it was perfect. Inside are two bunk beds with one set having a full or queen size bed on the bottom. The cabin came with basic amenities. Microwave, coffee pot, small fridge, plastic utensils, linens, and a small flat screen TV. The cabin had AC and a small wall mounted heater. The construction was very solid and we felt secure sleeping in it. Outside was a picnic table and a fire ring. In actuality we did not spend a whole lot of time there as we were busy riding. The drive from the Buffalo Chip at 0100 in the morning was a little tiresome but knowing we would be away from all the hustle and bustle of Sturgis was good. Overall I highly recommend this campground. From what I saw of the camper sites they looked pretty level and well maintained. Excellent experience and would not hesitate to bring my rig there for a family stay. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

This park is well located about 11 miles from Rapid City and about 12 miles from Mount Rushmore and a little further from Custer State Park and the Crazy Horse Monument. It's a good location to go to Deadwood, Sturgis, Custer, Hill City or a lot of other close by towns. We did not use the pool or spa but understand both are heated. The park has good security and we would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

OMG - what a nice resort! The staff was very friendly and more than helpful. We spent two weeks traveling across 5 states and this was the kids' favorite resort. We traded with ROD and I can't tell you how much nicer this resort is than our home resort. I wish I could drag the owner from our resort here so they can see how one should be run! There is Wi-Fi at your campsite, a pool, basketball court, playground for the kids, and s'mores on Friday nights! This is a membership campground so understand if you are not a member or a member at an affiliate resort, you will have to take a tour. If you are considering membership, this is the nicest resort we have ever stayed at for ROD. They were obviously making improvements when we were there, which is a lot more than I can say about our home resort (which doesn't even have full hookups!) We would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Don't call it a time share, they'll let you know that they hate being called a time share, they are more like a membership. Anyway, it was a nice place except for a few things: they are rebuilding and by 6:30am every morning they had skidsters driving around moving dirt. Not a huge deal for us since we were up early to go see the sites and we also didn't really pay much. We called them up and got the $30 deal for 3 nights, then when we stopped in Wall Drug we got a flier that said we could stay there for free for three nights plus get free tickets (if you set this up with them, tell them you want the free deal that is on the fliers). We called them up and since we had planned on boon docking at a Wal-Mart asked them instead of refunding our money (which I figured they would refuse to do) if they would just give us the three free nights and another night for the $30 we had paid. They said no problem. When we got there their computers were down and we were told no way could they do that, once you get a deal you are stuck with a deal. We argued and were pains in the butt, and eventually they gave it to us. Their front office is very disorganized. The "tour" took about 2.5 hours (they said 90min, but if you have ever done time share presentations you know how that goes). Doesn't seem like a bad deal, but at this stage in our lives with two little kids we were not ready to commit $6,000 to a membership. Check it out if you are into the time share scene though, seems like a much better concept then the traditional time share. They have events scheduled every night for kids, but they canceled twice while we were there and one night was a BBQ with the owners that they charged $5 to attend (we passed on it). Great place for free, probably wouldn't pay what they want a night to stay there. We were packed in like sardines when the place started to fill up. No shade for us in the full hook up section. But again, free is free and it beat boon docking at Wal-Mart another night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Camped here as part of their attempt to sell their program. Got 3 nights free for attending a 90 minute presentation. Did not buy. But, the park is very nice and getting better (they are making lots of improvements). Our site was an older one next to cabins, but still mostly level and shaded. Very quiet location. One odd thing, the electric hook up was on the wrong side so it could be shared between two sites. Office staff said they did not know if there was a right or wrong side for utilities. Overall, would camp here again if in the area. I listed $1.00 for the fee, but it was free. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly office personnel. Stay was under C2C. Level back-in site with table and fire ring. Park was starting to close down for winter. Pesky squirrel dropped pine cones on coach roof and entered sewer bay and made nest of foam insulation. Great location, laundry $2 for wash/dry but cheaper than in town. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our site was in the former storage area but we chose this because it was the only 50 amp available. Site was gravel and downhill in the front, also, not very deep but we fit just fine. The pull-throughs are very long to accommodate big rigs but not sure if they are 50 amp. The park was quiet, the staff helpful, and it is gated for security. Easy in and out location and convenient to area attractions. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park. We stayed here through Coast to Coast. The staff was very helpful. It is close to Mt. Rushmore. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The restroom/showers and laundry room were very clean. The pool area is nice. I did not like the camp site though. We had to back into a site at an angle. This left for little room for a picnic table without your neighbors rig in your site. We had to run out power cord through our other neighbors site to hook up. The back of out motor home was 2 feet from their picnic table. The $15 per night was a C2C price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Some of the sites are for big rigs, but about one half are small. I have a 33 foot travel trailer and the site #55 (a back in) that I was assigned was very small for my trailer. The sites in number 300's are much larger. The rate is Coast-to-Coast member rate. I stayed 7 days and will stay again the next time I am in the area, but will ask for a larger site. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here in a 38' 5th wheel. This park is big rig friendly. One of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. We are with Coast to Coast so we only paid $10. a night. Had very friendly and fast check in; the room between sites was adequate; had free WiFi that worked great; the gravel site was almost level; there were trees galore; had great dog walking areas and great views of the mountains. It's close to Bear Country U.S.A., a great place to visit. We would stay here again. Also, please be considerate and pick up after your pet before owners will stop allowing dogs or start charging for them. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice place, although a bit expensive. Near a petting zoo and some shops on the way to Rushmore. Peaceful and the staff is super friendly. They host special activities throughout the week for the guests which makes it even more fun. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting a nice place to hang out while in SD. We had a certificate to stay here 4 days/3 nights free to take a tour of the property. The presentation was about 2 hours; but there was no pressure to buy. We also stayed an additional night at the public rate of $42. Our site was level and our 50 amp was very good. Water pressure is a bit low. Park is clean and employees are very helpful and pleasant. Park does have some amenities and would be a good place for children. Great base for visiting Keystone, Custer State Park and Mt. Rushmore. There are many campgrounds in the area and if I were staying for any length of time I would check out the rates of the others before paying the public rate here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I think RV Resort is sometimes loosely used. Nice clean park but it seems they are more interested in selling memberships than anything else. We camped here free by going to their sales pitch which I have to say is not as high pressure as many I have attended. That being said when I called for reservations I told them my wife was disabled and need as close as possible to the facilities. Also told them We had a new 38 foot 5th wheel with three slides and I would prefer a pull through site. The gentleman on the phone said to let them know that when we got there. Upon arrival we were told we had a back in site and that they were full and could not accommodate a change. The site I was in was horribly un-level between two trees with the neighboring site within 1 foot of my awning. There were level and better sites empty the whole time we were there so they could have reassigned me. Showers are old and small and not dirty but could use a good steam cleaning. This park has possibilities but they have a way to go before we would come back. Pool and hot tub area needs more supervision as it was completely unusable for adults as we got tired of chasing kids out of the hot tub they used as a swimming pool. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a membership campground...Staff was friendly and efficient. Park has strong and fast WiFi. New security gates which they close at 10 p.m., with a pass code. We stayed here using ROD. Rate shown is $3/night for 50 amp. Park is convenient to area attractions. All RV sites save 10 have full hookups...many with 50 amp. Some sites on all grass and some on gravel but all sites have grass area...Some are shaded. Dusty gravel interior roads..Nice pool. No cable but Hi Def over the air selection is good. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice membership campground. We stayed under Coast To Coast for $10 a night. Front desk crew very nice. Desi, the manager, was extremely helpful in resolving a Coast To Coast problem for us, way above the call of duty. We will stay here again in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We did not stay after checking out the site. Park is probably good for some that belong to coast to coast or want a membership park. I called and asked if it was a membership park and was somewhat misled that it was not and to come on in. We did just that. But finding out to get a reduced price we would have to take a tour. We asked to check out the sites we could be in and was found it was a grassy field type with some mud already in the site and the restrooms would be portable potty and no showers in the area. We did not stay. And since it did rain shortly after we left we would have been in a mud hole. Will have to say the overall looked nice if it is what you want and the people in the office were very nice. Location to the sites would have been good. But not our type of rv park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground security was lax, scary abuses at the pool area and no one would come to help. A man using the garbage can as a diving platform. Crazy... We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a park that is convenient to all of the Black Hills attractions and activities. It is also a VERY nice resort. The sites are mostly large and attractive. They have some group activities, but not many since there are so many activities offsite. We really enjoyed our stay at Rushmore Shadows. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Obviously a lot of work has been done here since the last review was posted; the sites have been widened, new electric service at each site, and a great attitude from the staff. As busy as they were on our check-in, we were able to change our site to fit our motorhome easier with no trouble at all. The sites are neat, clean, and well maintained. This Resort is a 5 star in my book. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It doesn't get any better than this. All sites have trees, concrete pads,patios, grass and trees. None of the trees are tall enough to block your sat dish. Beautiful pool with lifeguard and covered deck area. Large. Reasonable priced food service with breakfast for $3.99. Daily trash pickup, separate pet area and a large dog run. All parks should be like this. We camped here in a Motorhome.

After reading some of the reviews, was not expecting too much but what a nice surprise when we got there. We spent a week at this park and loved every minute. Our site was spacious for us and internet was excellent. Found park very neat, laundry facility very clean and office staff were very helpful. We found park centrally located to everything and we would definitely go back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent 1 week here with our ROD membership. The best thing about this resort is its proximity to Rapid City and the Black Hills. Sites are grassy and undefined. Feels disorganized. The people in the office were very helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Will not stay again. We think Custer State Park might be a better choice. Great if you are visiting MacDonalds Farm, Reptile Garden, or Bear Country. Sites are grass. Membership park. Located about halfway between Rapid City (grocery stores) and Sight Seeing places, about 15 to 20 miles. Staff was okay, not real friendly. Showers are free but timed. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Their web site proclaims this place as a "5 star" resort. What a joke. I have been camping for forty years and have never backed into a worse campsite. The staff was indifferent. Their web site is misleading. We will never go back. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

I got a free year of coast to coast when I joined outdoor adventures campgrounds in Michigan last summer. We decided to utilize this membership and take a 2 week summer trip out west. We stayed at this resort for 8 dollars a night, and I don't think it was worth that. It starts with the size of my campsite. I have NEVER seen such a small campsite. I was next to a fifth wheel with a slideout that was 3 feet away from my awning. Our plan was to sight see during the day, then relax back at the campground towards evening,let the kids swim and make a nice dinner. I felt so claustrophobic that I couldn't stand even being at the campground. I swear our site wasn't 20 feet wide and 30 feet long. No shade, no fire pit. People in the campground office said that fire pits were limited due to high fire risk. Well, I would believe that if there was anything to burn. We were on short grass, and no trees anywhere around us. Also, if there is a ring and a sand pit, a fire would be perfectly safe. Unless the campers are too close together like you are at this place. I also found the staff to be not rude, but unaccommodating. For instance, to get ice, you have to go to the counter, pay for it, get a key, go about 50 feet outside around the corner, get the ice, then take the key back. Call me ignorant, call me dumb, but I haven't been at another campground yet that locks the ice when the office is open. Seems I got to do a lot of walking around to buy their slushy ice. I don't consider that good customer service. I bought the rest of my ice at the gas station. It was also 75 cents cheaper. The pool was ok, but smaller than most other campgrounds I've stayed at, and the bathrooms were clean. The showers have a "community" changing area, which my wife didn't like, so she used the one in the camper. As did Me and the kids. I guess I was really disappointed because coast to coast rated this a 5 star resort. I hardly think so. Most KOAs would rate better than this place. It isn't a good value, and I wasn't even impressed with the location. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We made reservations in Mar. 04 due to our being there during part of the bike rally. We paid $30/nite before the rally, then 38 after it started. We reserved two sites, one for our 33' 5th wheel, and one for our son's 26' toy hauler. We had to trade sites with him because ours was so unlevel. And, the sites are very close together. However, it is very shady, and very well located to all the tourist attractions. Coast-to-Coast rates it a 5* resort, but I don't feel it's that good. Not bad, though. This is a membership park that rents to the public c2c members can not get in but the public can HA HA HA. Picked me up a coupon at welcome center for 3 nights and stayed had to listen to their sales pitch said c2c members could get in this park on holidays just when ever you wanted to come you could get in. Said he and his wife fulltimers were c2c and had never been turned down at a c2c park GOOD GRIEF there are 2 c2c parks here and I could not get into either one of them.The other c2c park Hart Ranch also rents to the public but won't take c2c members. Internet modem in office but you have to pay to use it. Site they gave us real unlevel and sites are real close together not at all a 5 star resort as they advertize We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park. Quiet except for road noise from freeway that it is adjacent to. Mostly older people; no kids since no pool, maybe. The owners are exceptionally friendly. Very clean shower and bathroom area. Laundry right there onsite. Wi-fi is available but poor signal. Does work, more or less, just slow. Be sure to ask for Good Sam, AAA, and AARP discounts. They have all pull-throughs and a certain percentage has sewer there. The other sites have electric and water, and these folks use the dump station. These sites are cheaper than the ones with the local dump stations, of course. Not crowded at all. Pet friendly (owners have nice calico cats). If it were not for the proximity to the road, we would have rated it a 7, but that said, we would be more than happy to stay here again for a few nights. Definitely recommended. First off we really liked this park, the owners and helpers are all VERY nice folks, very helpful. The location of the park is perfect, not to far from Rapid City, but close to all the area attractions. This area has so much to see it takes a good month just to see it all. The rates are very reasonable, some of the best in the area, $350 per month including electric, this was for a spot without sewer. I do prefer to hook up to sewer, however they only have 10 sites with sewer and they are much closer together. I do have a 35 gal sweet wagon that I use for this purpose. That worked out great. The laundry and restrooms are clean and there are some shade trees, some people might like more trees and some people might like fewer. Probably the only reason for only an 8 rating is there is no pool or playground for the kids. That's great for us, we're retired and are full-time. They have good gravel roads. You can get about 5 or 6 channels on you regular antenna we also had no problem getting our Dish service to work great. The Wi-Fi is spotty like in most campgrounds which is why we have a MiFi Verizon Internet wireless modem for our laptops. We got great Verizon reception while here. The water and pressure are good and the 30 amp electric is good and steady. We WILL be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here in August for a week. $25/night + tax for electric and water, with the 7th night free, so about 22.61/night for a full week. Owner and campground hosts were all super nice. Very helpful in recommending things to see and do in the area. The sites are grass, and they are level. Beats sitting on blacktop on a hot summer day. The restrooms were older, but super clean. Even saw the one park host scrubbing the bath mats one day, and I do mean scrubbing, not just a quick spray-off. The Wi-Fi was pretty good at our site, but it isn't good in the sites further back. You have to be near the front, closer to the office. The laundry has 2 washers and 2 dryers @ only $1 per load! Office has a small store with some essentials, drinks and snacks, all reasonably priced. Also a nice book exchange and a nice selection of DVDs free to borrow. In summation, Teepee is a nice small campground with few amenities ( no pool, clubhouse, etc.) but just right for us. We are going to take the grandkids to Mt. Rushmore, the Black Hills and surrounding area next summer and will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a bit tricky to find the correct road to turn on, but we managed just fine. When leaving, it would be very difficult to make a left turn across the divided highway. The traffic from the right is coming uphill and around a corner. We fortunately turned right. The Wi-Fi worked, but was a bit slow during peak user hours. We had excellent TV antennae reception. We had a 50amp water/electric site so needed to dump at the end of the week. The dump station was tight in and out. The bathrooms, though outdated, were very clean. I walked our dogs in the adjacent field (look out for cows and snakes). We would stay here again. Nice small campground for a couple of days. We were in site 51 at the end, nice view of the Black Hills. Staff were very friendly and helpful in providing tourist info. WI-FI signal only reaches to the bathhouse which is in the middle of the park and I had to walk every day to the front of the park and sit at a picnic table to get WI-FI. I was able to get 6 -7 TV channels. Pull-through sites are side by side and close on the utility hook up side. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Well maintained older park, not a "Resort" type of park, but great for the older generation. Good Rapid City and Black Hills access. We would, for sure stay here again. Managing couple very friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff was very accommodating. We indicated that we needed Wi-Fi, so they gave us a 30A spot near the office. We had very high wind gusts that blew two planters over. The sites are all grass and tree free, so we could receive our satellite signal. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It was early in season: we pretty much had park to ourselves. Got a good rate because of it too. Easy to get too. Great view of Black Hills at end of park. Grass sites a little narrow, but didn't effect us while here. Could get tight when busier. Easy drive to all the attractions. Host was very friendly. Had lots of info to share on area. Showers old, but kept clean. We'll stay again when in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We ended up staying here when we could not get space at the campground on Ellsworth AFB. As it turned it, this was the best thing that could have happened to us! The facilities were spotless, the owner was very friendly, our site has some shade and the location was outstanding! Also, it is 3-4 degrees cooler here that at the base, with much less wind. We got a site with just power, water and easily lasted the whole week without having to dump because we used the campground showers instead of our RV shower. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Tee Pee Campground and RV Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed three nights here as a base to explore the region. Price was excellent (Good Sam discount). Hosts were friendly. Laundry facilities were good (honor system). We used a full hook up pull through site, which was level and some grass and a tree for shade. Neighbors were about average distance away. It was a bit out of town, but that was fine with us. The office has some basic perishables, and there is a chuckwagon restaurant next door (though we didn't have time to try it). It was quiet, and gave us a few less miles to drive towards the tourist areas. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The staff was friendly and efficient, even checking on tent and cabin sites to assure things were out of the weather when tornado and high wind warnings were present. We had been informed ahead of time there were no full hook up sites available, however, the dump station was available. We found this to be very little inconvenience for the price. This park is convenient to all of the areas wonderful site seeing. Very quiet at night. Our 40 footer fit in the nice wide, grassy pull throughs and albeit the laundry is small, it is functional. Water and 30 amp electric worked fine. 50 amp was not available at many sites. WiFi worked well even when it showed a weak signal. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

You get what you pay for. This park is the proverbial “parking lot,” albeit with grass instead of asphalt. Sites are narrow and the only amenity beyond hook-ups is Wi-Fi, which didn’t work during my visit. Water pressure seemed to fluctuate between adequate and unacceptably low. There is no pet area. Office staff was pleasant and helpful. I will try one of the other campgrounds in the area, all of which are more expensive, during my next visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stay at TeePee every year when we visit friends in Rapid City. Last year, the park was run by an inefficient manager, but this year the owners are back. They painted the bathrooms and are keeping everything clean. They are very helpful if you need to ask about Black Hills sites of interest. This park is mostly for people who want a clean, friendly place, but do not need extras like a swimming pool. They have good rates, WiFi and laundry, and spacious easy-to-drive-in sites, which is what we want! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice, well kept park and campground, located midway between the northern and southern Black Hills and a short drive into Rapid City. Spaces are large with lots of pull throughs available. Restrooms and showers and laundry room are all clean and well kept. Park employees were very helpful and friendly. Owner is back running it again this year which is helpful. Will definitely stay here again! Also the cheapest in the Black Hills! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The people we dealt with were very nice, both on the telephone and in the office. We were placed in at a site which was grass with no driveway, patio or table, with shared water. There wasn’t any shade. Due to the site we were debating as to whether we would stay. We went to the showers and restrooms. Two toilets were plugged and a plastic diaper was in one shower. We told a camp host about the toilets and he said, “I don’t do toilets.” So we left camp and went to a nearby park. We would not return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Good price for the area. Not crowded at all. Lady in office was nice. She gave me a drive-through near the office so the Wi-Fi would work. She said they have had trouble farther from the office. Bathrooms/showers were clean but needed painting. The first shower I chose, the water barely trickled. I put a towel around me and moved to another one. The shower worked fine, but there was some standing water. After my shower, I went back to the trickling shower to dress out of the water. A restaurant next door had a chuck wagon dinner each night and a 99 cent all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast the next morning. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

When we look for a campground, we want it to be pretty close to the highway exit, clean and quiet, feel safe, is fairly priced, has a site that's not cramped and one so our rooftop satellite works, and our cell (VZ) works well enough to get us online and to make calls. We don't want campgrounds with amenities or luxury features. We're usually just travelers so the features noted above are important to us. If a campground meets all these requirements, it'll get a high rating from me. That said, the TeePee gets a pretty good rating. They only reason it's not higher is that we were sandwiched in between 2 other coaches due to the fact all full hookups are clumped together. The rest of the park has spacious sites. The lady in the office is wonderful and very helpful in answering our many questions about Rapid City. The location is great for seeing the city, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, and Wind Cave NP. We stayed 3 nights for $28 and got the 4th for free. We'd stay here again but I'd try for a non-full hookup so we could have a bigger site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed at this park in a travel trailer because it was conveniently located to Rapid City and a good base for exploring the Black Hills! Restroom & showers were very clean, sites large. Full hookup & 50 amp sites are limited which was not a problem for us. Not much for children to do except for a swing set. Owners and work kampers were always friendly & helpful. Well cared for park and will definitely stay here again!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
