Nice park but the sites are a bit close together. Was a family reunion of several campers in the row behind us with no respect for quiet time. Other than that, a nice place We camped here in a Motorhome.

Love returning here. Turn onto Mack Smith Road from Ringold Road looks tight, but we made it easily in a 40' and tow. Mack Smith Road widens out about four blocks from turn and the park is well signed. Great people, camp store, sites, pool, shade, and location. Very close to Camping World and Baskin Robbins: what more did you want? We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is really nice campground that if we are the area again we will use. The sites are level. The ONLY issue we had was the site we had was a bit short for the 5th wheel and the truck to be easily parked. Not a huge issue as we made them fit. I'm being picky. Nice pool and camp store. GPS coordinates and Mapquest don't get you to the campground......close, but.... We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Wi-fi was broken, but that happens. Sites were tight, but manageable, even with a 44 foot rig towing a truck. Clean as a whistle and friendly staff. Half of the park seems to be seasonals, but thankfully they segregate them. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground. I have three dogs, and no problems about bringing them. The WiFi works well, the office staff was nice. I've stayed here before and I will again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I selected this park because of good reviews, and it is clean, orderly, and an acceptable overnight stop. If you travel with a dog, however, take note that their restrictions are extensive, No "pins," (they meant "pens" I am sure), no leashes longer than 6', no staking pets outdoors, no walking pets in empty campsites (even though you will clean up after the pet), and of course no pets in buildings, which is expected. Additionally, in the office you will see a list of dog breeds not permitted at all, including those with bad reputations such as dobermans, pit bulls, and rotties. If you bring a legal pup, the only way she can relax outdoors at your campground is at the end of a leash you are holding. I felt like we both were tethered, especially when I had purchased a nice pen that had to remain in the car during my stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is very shaded and off the main street. The only reason I gave it an 8 was because the pads are gravel and it was very noisey due to a motorcycle rally in the area. We will return just at a different time of year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

You pay more than state parks and COE campgrounds, but this place is a very good park. It's easy to get to, the sites are level, easy to get into and the park roads are very easy to negotiate. The office staff is very helpful and friendly. Add to this, good Wi-Fi and cable TV, and you've got a good place to stay and check out all that Chattanooga has to offer. I would recommend this place to anyone and will use it again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed overnight at this campground while enroute to the beach. The campground was clean, well maintained, and quiet. The only noise that could be heard was from a race track or drag strip that is on the other side of the interstate, but we were far enough away that it was not an irritant. There was a nice pool behind the office, but we did not try it since there were so many kids playing in it. The campground was easy to locate and it is a fairly quick on/off the interstate. The staff was friendly and made check in easy. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice clean park. The office people were very friendly. Be careful entering the park because there is a large tree on the right side that could damage your RV. Gravel sites and roads. Good WI-FI. Long pull-through sites. Rate is Escapees rate. At night it got smokey. I never understood why people want to build fires when it is over 90 degrees outside. We would stay here again. CG overall is okay. Roads are just a tad tight in/out. Rate is a weekly rate. Worst thing about it: the SMUDGE POTS. CG's should just NOT allow smudge pots. It is 85 degrees and the rig behind me has a fire, actually a "smoke," going with the wind directly on my rig. Will NEVER understand why folks do that, especially in a closely packed campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects combination of 30amp site, weekly rate and Escapees discount. One of the nicest places we've stayed. As far as noise, depending on which way the wind blows there is some airplane sound. As far as mud after the rain, there is some, but they were also applying gravel and grading the last couple of days we were here. Friendly, convenient, and just a couple miles from Camping World! Good location, level sites, interior roads are OK. Good place to stay while seeing Chattanooga, it is convenient to all locations. We stayed 4 nights. Unfortunately, we did have some things go missing from our unlocked car one night. Staff stated that there has been some difficulty with that. They offered to call the police for us, it was not worth a police report. We would stay here again, but we would make sure everything is locked up tight! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We almost didn't stay here because of the review that said this park is muddy was after a major down pour. The place is great. No hiway traffic, planes, or trains. Nice grassy open area, a pool, and nice people. We would go again, love Chatanooga. Roads are gravel. Showers really nice. They are separate rooms that lock and very big. Friendly employee at check-in. All pull through sites. Sites are in need of regravel and TLC attention. Standing water and mud between all sites after a rain storm. Very poor drainage. On Saturday morning at 8am, a surly CG employee presented himself to our RV group smoking a cigarette looking for one of our group's late check-in from the night before. Good location, level sites, interior roads are ok. Good place to stay while seeing Chattanooga. No place you'd want to stay long term for the price of admission. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This RV park was very close to the interstate making access to and from it very convenient. There were numerous restaurants very close to the park as well and of course Chattanooga has lots of tourist attractions that are well worth seeing (Rock City, Ruby Falls, The Incline, etc) The restrooms and showers were exceptionally clean...the cleanest I have ever seen and there were plenty of them for all. There was a full store at the park for groceries or RV accessories. Interestingly enough there was a Camping World just down the road a bit. The RV park also sold propane if you needed refills. Each site offered cable, water, electric and a dump station right on the site and free Wi-Fi internet access. The pads were rock and seemed fairly level. There were no trees for shade on 90% of the spots and the spots themselves were very close together (~10ft). This was not the type of campground where there were lots of activities in the park to do like you might find at a state park. The children playground, while cute, was not as up to date as we have seen else where. The two negatives we didn't like were that about 1-2 miles away there is a drag strip and the dragsters could be heard roaring up and down the strip to all hours of the night. The property also seemed to be in the flight path of the local airport, so planes were constantly overhead as well. Overall a nice campground minus the dragsters. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I agree with the other posts: bathrooms and showers were clean, Wi-Fi worked sort of OK, spaces were level crushed gravel and fairly close together. It is the closest park to Chattanooga, so there is some background city noises. The post complaining about this park in wet weather was accurate too. We camped here a week and it rained the second to last day. the ground is hard clay with zero drainage. The water just lays there. On the day we left, I backed our diesel pusher out of the park to minimize driving through the muck. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Well run park with friendly staff. Wi-Fi was spotty. Park was crowded with large rigs. This campground is in Rossville, GA, not in Chattanooga, TN. Restrooms were VERY clean and so were the individual showers. Lack of drainage made park very damp and muddy. Pads were of crushed rock, but fairly level. Airport, nearby train switching yard, and I-75 made for noisy nights. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It is a nice campground, but most sites were very flooded when we arrived, and were worse after an all-night rain storm went through the area. There is no drainage at any sites, so water was standing approximately 2 to 5 inches deep everywhere! The roads were uneven, so deep pools formed, making it impossible to take walks through the park. I would recommend this park again, but only during dry weather. The staff are not very friendly, but very efficient. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We attended a motor home rally at this park just after they had lots of rain in Chattanooga. The sites do not drain well and were therefore muddy. The interior roads are gravel and were muddy with water standing in several areas. Park crews were trying to grade roads, but more rain just made it worst. Due to trees, some sites can be a challenge for big rigs. Few sites can accommodate roof top satellite reception, however, cable is free. There are three entrance roads into the park. Do not take the center entrance. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an outstanding park. We spent 2 nights here. It's very easy to access and very close to Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls and Rock City. The staff was wonderful and the new bath house extremely clean. We will make this our stopover point if we are in the area again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The grounds here are nice, with clean level sites, though somewhat small. Shade trees are not really available for motorhomes, those sites are pretty much in the sun field and the setting sun is directly into the windshield. The WiFi is basically non-existent, it is very slow, slower than what I remember dial-up speed to be. It really isn't worth the money. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Showers were very clean and large, with a nice seat in the shower. The laundry area was very clean and conveniently located right next to the pool. Also had the lowest prices we've seen in awhile! The campground was conveniently located off the freeway, yet very quiet and private. Lots of shade trees. Nice pool and clubhouse. Very well maintained. What a great campground! It is close to the Interstate, easy to get into with a big rig towing a car, level sites, well-kept, clean grounds, and impressively immaculate bathrooms. The only problem was patchy Wi-Fi. It was frustrating at times. They were aware of it and were working with Wi-Fi provider to improve service. The office staff was knowledgeable and very helpful with information in area. We would definitely stay here again. Hint~Garmin directions are a bit off. Follow the campground's directions. It is located on the site of an actual Civil War battlefield. That was pretty cool. It's a VERY nice campground. Clean and well-maintained. The sites are all pull through, with water, electric, sewer and cable. The sites are a little on the narrow side. I don't know if we would have been able to deploy our awning fully or not, but since we were just overnighting, we didn't even try. Most other campers had their awning out, so I guess we could have if I had parked the camper a little closer to the hookups. We didn't use the bath house, but I did look at them so that I could review them. They were FANTASTIC! The showers are some of the nicest I've ever seen at a campground. Each one has it's own room, with a chair and a peephole. The water pressure was great, the cable was crystal clear and the hookups were located so that I was easily able to hook everything up. The playground was a nice place for the kids to go while we unhooked and hooked back up the next morning. There's lots of restaurants and shopping nearby, and the campground has a surprisingly nice selection of RV items available in the camp store. Highly recommend this great campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We used this campground as a vacation base while visiting the Chattanooga area. There are two negatives to this campground, the size of the sites and the very small playground. The campground is almost all pull through sites that are very narrow and are not overly long (I couldn't fit my 36 foot trailer and my crew cab pickup on the site without backing the truck in at an angle next to the trailer). The location of the sewer hookup on the site required 15 feet of sewer hose to hook up. Campground interior roads and sites are gravelled and are well designed for RV access. The pool was clean and warm. The comfort station is modern with tile floors and walls and is very clean. Campground staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. This is the first time I’ve given a campground a 10! This fantastic campground is in a country setting. The staff is friendly and helpful, the Wi-Fi was fast and I can’t say enough about the bathrooms and general layout of the campground. The office has a well stocked store with many RV supplies. Next to the office is a club house/meeting room with a small kitchen. Off this room are restrooms and showers that also connect to the pool. It’s always nice to have restrooms and showers by the pool. The air-conditioned laundry room is also by the pool and easily twice the size of most campgrounds! Although the restrooms and showers by the pool and front office are updated, the gem of this campground is the newest restroom and shower facilities located in the center of the campground. These clean new showers are the most private secure ones we have every encountered. Each stall is a separate room with a deadbolt lock. A chair is provided in the dressing area and the shower also contains a built-in seat. A peep hole is on the door so you can see who is outside if someone is knocking on your door. I felt very safe and secure! You can tell the owners are campers themselves! If in the area we would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here two nights on our way to the mid-west. It is located conveniently off I-75. It has good crushed stone interior roads and well marked camp sites each with a light by the utility hookups. It also has free Wi-Fi with a very strong signal which is very important to us. The cable TV brought in most watched stations and worked fine. The restrooms and bath house is outstanding and probably the best I have ever seen. They did not cut any corners when they designed the restrooms. They even have real paper towels with the new motion sensors. The stools are even the bigger type for 220 pound men like me. Those other campgrounds have stools built for small kids. That too is important to me. The office has ticket sales for 3 major attractions at a discount and I recommend they be purchased at a cost of $41.00. The owners deserve to be proud of this park. I would stay in this park again. This park should be considered the gold standard of parks. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The sites are surrounded by what looks to be railroad ties and because it had rained so hard the water filled up in this area where the fire ring and picnic table are and had no place to drain off. Great weekend. The park was clean and very friendly. Two groups were meeting there and with the size, and location of the groups, things went very well. Location is easy to get to and the things that you can do around Chattanooga, you are only limited by time. I highly recommed this CG. The site are a little close but not enough to cause any problem. This is a great CG! The bath house was always clean we noticed that the fake plant in the restrooms didn't even have dust on them nor dust in the vent louvers. The shower rooms were clean and are in a very convenient arrangement. The sites are wide enough for awnings and then some extra space. There is not enough space for a game of corn hole but enough to not feel crowded. All roads were level and spot fixed after the heavy rain, on the same day. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were surprised that the highway traffic noise didn't make it to the campground. We will definitely be staying here again. We stayed a week in a pop-up. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Great campground! We were very pleasantly surprised by this location. We checked in after hours, and the process was very simple to register. Be forewarned, however, this is a popular park. The entire park is very level, so parking and leveling was no trouble. Hookups are in the right position, and the spaces are surprisingly spacious (we stayed in a 30 amp spot). Most sites are pullthrough, but they have a few back-in sites if you choose. The restrooms and shower building are fantastic. Frankly, I think the shower/restroom building rivals those at Ft. Wilderness Resort at Disney World--clean and modern. We are looking for activities in the Chattanooga area simply because we want to stay at this park again. If you want a clean, relaxing stay, do yourself a favor and camp here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice campground on the outskirts of Chattanooga, a short drive from the battlefield. The bathrooms are warm and clean, same with the showers, and there are plenty of them. Nice shaded sites with a decent amount of space between them. Fast Wi-Fi. Quiet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Just so everyone knows - the previous poster who complained about the rude "host" is upset after being told to slow down when driving through the campground at a dangerous speed. This is a wonderful campground. We stay here all the time. The staff is friendly, and if tow vehicles are a problem, don't blame the campground. If you're in the Chattanooga area with an RV, you need to stay here! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice park if you need a place to stay while sightseeing in Chattanooga. The sites were very close but were level. Most of the sites were full, so it was crowded trying to drive around all of the tow vehicles and toads inside the park. Half of the campground is long-term residents. WiFi and cable were adequate. We went in to buy an article at the store, and the office staff was very unfriendly. A resident who is apparently a host camper was absolutely rude. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The showers and bathhouse were remarkable. Showers are individual rooms and very clean and well kept. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The sites were big enough to accommodate parking the tow vehicle in front of the RV. They were wide enough so you didn't feel like you were under your neighbor's slide. Most were well shaded and level. The playground was nice for the kids. The store was well stocked. Wi-Fi worked at the back of the park not just at the front building. This park is half RVers and half homesteaders, and I definitely knew who was who. Big rig sites apply to motorhomes only. I was in a bigger site and had to back out around the corner to get out of there. Sites were big enough, but interior roads were very narrow with no turning room. Personnel were nice and helpful. I had asked for a site to use my overhead satellite system and was given one completely covered by trees, and they would not move me stating they had good cable TV. There were a lot of channels maybe but poor reception. Not sure I would stay here again as trees were dripping sap and other things; wrong trees for RV park. They would not let me wash rig either. Fantastic park, both as overnight stay or extended visit to area. Office staff go above and beyond to make the stay pleasant. They are responsive to issues and work hard to correct any problems. The laundry area was spotless as were the rest rooms we noted one side of park used for long term stay,and appeared all those sites were kept neat and clean. We had to park on a long term site due to a full park, as we did not have a reservation. The site was adequate, did not have cable TV, but our dish worked fine. The site was discounted to reflect no cable TV. The neighbors were helpful in assisting us in our site. I would definitely stay here again, and stongly suggest making a reservation; especially during summer and fall. They have a good cancellation policy which they explain in depth at time of reservation. Make this park your 'must stop' anytime your are in Chattanooga area! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We are a big rig and could not pull out of our site without hitting the tree at corner of site. Luckily, we were able to back out into site behind us and make the exit turn. Beautiful and friendly park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Level, gravel sites are a good size, and each has a small patio and long enough for big rigs. Great area for walking and exercising the dog. Nice playground for the kids. Individual shower rooms with locking doors are first class. Extremely clean and well maintained park. There's even a stationary tub on the outside of the bath house for washing or rinsing off muddy or dirty stuff not suitable for washing indoors - the dog maybe? We saw someone doing just that. What a great idea! Convenient to both Camping World, Wal-Mart and Cracker Barrel. We've told several people about this park since our visit and will most definitely tell more. We'll also stay here whenever we're in the area. You won't be disappointed with this one. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Staff was not very polite and at times were sarcastic, good thing we didn't have to deal with them all that much. Sites are level and hookups in good locations. Not a good place to bring your pets as there is really no good place to walk them, bring your own bags. The drag strip close by is very loud and runs until sometime around 1am. Location is great to see battlegrounds and Chattanooga as well as Ruby falls and other attractions. Do agree the roads are narrow and there are issues with a rental or car if you have one on most sites. Doubt we would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a very nice park. The spots are adequately sized, though they are not luxuriously spacious by any means. All of the utilities were functional and in good condition. Sites were level and easy to access. The park is easy to access of the Interstate and nearby is many choices for food, gas, etc. None of those amenities appeared to be within walking distance. There were a ton of trees on the grounds, providing lots of shade. This did not affect TV reception and many neighbors had satellite dishes, so I assume they get adequate reception. The showers were very nice. Each shower was in its own room, with separate access from the exterior. In addition to the shower, outside the shower was a dressing area. Each area was more than adequately sized. There was no sink or toilet in the shower area, but they were in the same building. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you are in a Big Rig, it is best to unhook before attempting to par. Streets are narrow and turns sharp. Nice areas to walk dogs. Easy access to highways. Quite a bit of shade so you might not get your awnings out. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Friendly folks running the park, well laid out, sites are not on top of each other. They first tried to put me in a smaller spot, but when I couldn't get in because of a tree blocked my 5er door, they moved me to a larger spot with no hesitation. This is a nice park, but nothing special. The interior roads are tight. Even though the majority of the sites are pull-thrus, the roads are so tight you have to disconnect your toad to get into them. In addition most of the sites are very close together. When your neighbor's unit provides shade for your picnic table the sites are too close together. This park is also on the flight path of the airport. The good news is that it isn't a busy airport, the bad news is that it is a feeder airport so most of the flights are between 6:00AM and 7:00AM. On the positive side, there is a lot of shade and the office staff is very friendly and helpful. We would probably return here again because, unfortunately, this is probably the best park in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Average destination campground. They had most of the seasonals separated in a different section of the campground. Sites were of average width in the pull through section where we stayed. Be careful of the sites when it rains because the grassy area between the sites is surrounded by landscape timbers which causes the areas to become small ponds for a couple of days. Campground was close to the sights in Chattanooga, about 15 minutes from Downtown and the Lookout Mountain area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here overnight on the way back from Florida, and it was a convenient stop. We arrived at midnight and left at 6am, so we didn't see much. We had a long pull-through site that was easy in/out and we didn't need to unhitch the trailer we were pulling behind our motorhome. Sites were long but not large - the neighbors were pretty close. The bathrooms were very clean. We had difficulty finding the place and maneuvering through in the dark (on the other hand you're not kept awake at night by glaring lights). A map with our site number was taped to the office door for our late arrival, as promised so the office seems efficient. It was raining while we were there, and we noticed flooding and lots of mud puddles toward the back of the campground as we were pulling out. I wouldn't have wanted one of those sites. My least favorite thing was being charged extra for 3 children who never left the motorhome or were even awake during our stay. All in all a positive experience, and we'd overnight there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice campground. Sites are gravel and level with paved roads. It is very well laid out and has a friendly staff. Our 42' MH was fine and we maneuvered around without problems. A large park with all amenities, conveniently located for touring the history rich Chattanooga area. The campground is on the site of the Civil War Battle of Chattanooga. Even though they have a large tent area, it seems you are better off "self-contained" due to limited number of bath houses. Gravel roads had puddles and the grassy areas were muddy or flooded both times we were here. Helpful, friendly and courteous staff. When we had some electrical problems they helped us find the "RVTech" who made quick and rea$onable on-site repairs. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A great place to stay. The sites are large and nicely raised above the sewer for drainage. The free cable TV has many stations and great reception. We stayed only for a night while in transit to Florida, but would love to return again and see the area. Very nice park, kept exceptionally clean. Has a great laundrymat. Showers by gender by the laundrymat, 6 individual showers in the middle of the park with more men and women restrooms. Has a clubhouse. Really nice people work the whole camp. RV store in office is handy. WiFi came in well. Leaves from the many big trees aren't picked up, tho, and they are selfish about letting use one of their rakes to clean up one's site. There's a great farmer's market if you take the first two rights out of the camp, then a right at the end of the road, across from an amusement center. Campground is actually in Rossville, Georgia. Camped here with 2 good Sam's clubs. 3 nights. Campgrounds were neat, clean and well managed. Office staff was great, check-in was quick. Site was level, large, and comfortable. The drag strip that is near runs on Saturday night, but shuts down at 11. This strip gives out 12 scholarships a year to deserving high school seniors, so I can put up with a little noise. The campground is actually in George; just across the state line from East Ridge, TN but has a Chattanooga address and phone number. The entrance road from the main highway is narrow with a lot of residential areas. The entrance into the park is tricky for larger rigs due to the sharp turn and narrow road. Swing very wide to make the turn or you will end up hitting a large tree or their sign. Otherwise, the interior roads are a bit narrow for large rigs due to the very large trees and the narrow roads. The sites were close and rig placement is a problem on some sites if you have a lot of slides. We had to disconnect our tow to get into our site. The sites are gravel and have full hookups. Some have the sewer at the rear of the site which required we move the tow to the front of the space and back up the motorhome to get the hose to reach. The campground is divided into two sections. One is for long term campers and the other is for short term camping. The tent area is large and grassy. We spent 3 weeks there and found the campground to be convent for access to I-75 and I-24. The office staff was very efficient and knowledgeable. Since the only other campground in the area for larger rigs is Shipps (not our first choice) we will be staying here again. The Best Holiday Trav-L-Park Chattanooga is a well equipped and maintained campsite nearby GA I-75 exit #1. The reception desk personnel are exceptionally helpful and courteous. The entire campground is kept neat but the private showers and restrooms are always clean and even have country music piped-in. You actually see people working around the place. This may not be the most beautiful campground around but everything that’s there works well. You need to prepare yourself for some cooking at the campsite because only the usual array of fast food restaurants is nearby. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Efficient check in and very helpful staff. Site a little small in width and length, making maneuvering a little tricky, though we did notice some sites were a bit bigger. Water, electric, sewer all OK. Cable TV connection a little shaky giving a very 'speckly' picture on some channels. WiFi variable - old system with many drop-outs. Campground overall tidy and clean and good location for visiting nearby attractions. There was a little noise at night from a nearby speedway track, but not too obtrusive. Restroom spotless. We called on the Thursday before Labor Day to get a reservation for the weekend. They said I would be in the area normally reserved for monthly rentals so I wouldn't have cable or a fire ring. Site was fine. I've got a 34' 5the wheel with slides on both sides, and had no problem fitting between other similar sized rigs. I've stayed in much more narrow sites at a few older KOA's. It's only about a 10 minute drive to the aquarium, Incline, Rock City, or Ruby Falls. The campground is just a mile from Lake Winnie. The pool was clean, and the restrooms were among the absolute cleanest I've seen at a campground, and this was on a holiday weekend, with the campground at or near capacity. Campground is convenient to I-75 and I-24. We would probably stay here again if we are in the Chattanooga area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

First of all ... WIFI worked like a champ the whole time we were there. We stayed with a group from Good Sam's. This is not the first time we stayed there ... The only issue with this park, and it's always the same, is the noise from the drag strip on Friday and Saturday night (it may be more often but these are the only days we stay there). But they stop around 10 or 11pm. The park was clean, the pool nice, the store has just enough in it and the staff there are very very very nice. Our club stays there once a year and it is convenient to Camping World and Shipps RV ... We always enjoy this CG and it is close to all the Chattanooga sites. To give this a "1" just because the WiFI was not working is a real stretch. You will enjoy this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Gravel sites are not level and very narrow for RV's prior to slide-outs. My slide-out almost touched my neighbors awning. If you have a large motor home good luck in finding room for the towed vehicle. Worst of all were the sounds coming from the nearby race track. It was unbearable at night with engines racing late into the night, or early morning. They can't help the noise, but can improve the sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I only gave them a one because the wifi did work. The grounds are not kept up well. It looked like there had been a rainstorm and nothing was cleaned up. The price is a little too much for what you get. We only stayed because of the wifi. Also make sure you let them know if you might be staying an extra night. We stayed one night and then asked to stay over another night because we had company coming to see us before we left the area. You would have thought we asked for a major favor. They told someone on the telephone that they do not guarantee a spot but we were told we would have to move for the second night because they had already promised the site to someone else for that night??? I think the old geezers in the office just didn't know how to change the computer registration. And the worst part is that nobody ever showed up for the site they made us move out of. This is an outstanding park for the traveler passing through on the Interstate. Your left turn on to the street that goes South toward the park is only about 1 block from I75. The sign is not clearly visible if you are in the right lane. Get in the left lane IMMEDIATELY!! We highly recommend the facilities, staff, and location of this excellent park. It is in your best interest to not select a site in the west portion of the park due to standing water. The sites in the first 4 or 5 rows are fine. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Limited 50 amp spaces - had to go with a 30 amp. Great wifi connection. All pull throughs. Spaces tight and somewhat cramped - had to do some adjusting to get the awning to avoid being blocked by a tree. Slide out on one side hung over a foot or so in the neighbor's area - but the spaces are slanted which helps out. Very small patio for small picnic table and either you move the table and use that for a sitting area or there's no place to sit out lawn chairs. Well run place, clean, good store and responsive staff. Great for a jump off space to the tourist traps. If you are expecting a lake type lot with a lot of room and privacy - this is not it. And - there is drag racing on Friday night that can be pretty loud. Overall, good experience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was one of the finest campgrounds that we have ever stayed at. We have been all over the east coast of the United States and camped in many campgrounds. The bathrooms were spotless and the showers were the cleanest that I have ever seen. I loved the outside door entry showers that the bathouse provided. This gave an extra level of security when bathing three small children. We did not even use the camper's bathroom during our three day stay. The pool was clean and large enough for the expected number of guests. The playground was clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and gave directions and advice for area attractions. The sites were level, pull-thru, and wide enough for our fifth wheel, tow vehicle, and minivan. We will use this campground any time that we travel in the Chattanooga area. This park is very handy to I-75 and many attractions in Chattanooga and N. GA. The park has nice pull-thrus with level gravel sites and picnic tables on pads. Nice place. The sites are level. Some are shaded and give you a sense of back country. The pool was clean, the store was nice, and the roads were gravel but graded smooth and wide enough to maneuver. On the down side. The dumpsters were full and stunk badly till they emptied them right before we left. The drag strip and the departing and arriving aircraft from the airport were a nuisance. And as for their security officer, on the golf cart was very arrogent and over zealous. The rest of the staff was very warm and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We used this park for an overnight stop on the way to and back from Florida. It's easy to get back and forth to I-75 and there are a couple of gas stations that didn't seem too crazy just across the street and down a little ways, which made fueling up easy. The sites were level and on both visits we left the truck hooked up, which made getting on the road in the morning pretty easy. It's a quiet and clean park, with a nice pool that felt great after traveling all day. The sites are somewhat close. On our first night here we received rain from part of a tropical storm and the site had quite abit of water along the low sides. The airport issue was really no problem, we saw a few planes on both stops, but nothing that was enough to disturb us. The bathrooms are real nice and clean. For an overnighter this is a great place. If I was staying in the area for any longer I would want to check out one of the nearby county or state parks (there not located real convienently to I-75 though). We just don't like being so close to other campers. The one down side is that they charge for anymore then 2 campers including kids over 6. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Narrow sites which are covered with limestone slag. When it is dry you track in white powder, when wet you track in white mud. The park advertises no noise from the Interstate which is true, but the park is due south of the international airport which has an approach and departure path right over the campground. Then a quarter mile race track is very close and the races will blow you out of bed every once in a while. It is a clean park with nice restrooms, but we don't use those facilities as our camper also has a nice bathroom. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a weeklong event to attend in Rossville, Georgia. This park was approximately
seven miles away and provided all the amenities that we needed for restful evenings. The sites are fairly close together (about 8 feet from awning tip to next camper). Many of the sites are shaded. Even for being so crowded, the park is quiet and clean. The gravel sites are level. There are some potholes in the roads that could use filling. The pool was very nice. We had to leave early and the management didn't even question me when I asked for a one night refund. If you're looking for a place to stay while visiting the Chattanooga area, this is a very decent campground. (Rated 8) We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The best showers we have ever seen. We have a shower in the MH, but a neighbor told us we had to do the showers. Very well kept and clean. Open pull thrus could have been a little larger, but we did not feel cramped. Narrow access road and a little tight turning in, but not a real hassle. Stayed in 2003 in a 40 foot motor home, and will go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stay here frequently and the exceptional walks are the main reason. There are several ponds on the grounds and the area around them is manicured and clean and lovely. Heavy trees limit Sat TV access,but there are a few available. Its great to shop Camping World and who doesn't like walking through the new RVs on the lot. Downside: summer weekends, the drag strip is right next door and noisy. All said, we love this place and usually try to time our trips to visit it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was formerly Shipp's campground that is run by Camping World. It was convenient to Chatanooga. It is not a first rate campground but it was clean with fairly large sites and shaded. Sites were fairly level. We paid $21 with our discount and would stay again. The staff at the Camping World store were first rate and very helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here for a few nights when I had to have some emergency dental work done. It is hard to find a dentist that will take you in when you are traveling. It is an okay campsite if you like to get up close and personal with your neighbor. I could open my window and ask our neighbor to pass me some salt. Sorry, there are wider sites, but not accommodating to to the bigger rigs. We had to maneuver between trees and make sure we could open our door and put our slide out at the same time. Forget the awning, it is not going out. Plus, your sewer runs right up against the patio of your neighbor. For the most part, it was a place to stay when we needed it, but do not go there expecting anything great. Oh, and did I mention the dirt track next door. Hear the roar, feel the thunder on your feet every Friday and Saturday night. Wonderful!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an older campground with tight gravel sites and roads. Some have 50 amp and some have concrete patios. Satellite can be difficult with lots of trees. We had significant ruts at our pull through site and lots of standing water and mud with rains. On the plus side, service technicians will come to your site and pick up your coach for repairs if you choose to go out instead of waiting. We would stay again, although $24.50 with President's Club discount seems pretty steep, especially when you are here for service and signs indicate no overnight parking in the Camping World lot. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nothing fancy, not too bad. Good place for us for the 3 nights we stayed there. There are some sites that are real tight, but we had our 40' MH in a pull thru that wasn't too close to the neighbors. Trash is picked up daily, grass is mowed. Not a resort, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when in Chattanooga. It was only $20/night with Presidents Club discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here because we were having tow equipment installed on our coach and dinghy. I would never stay here for any other reason. The sites are very tight. It's next door to a motel with very bright flood lights so be sure to find a campsite as far from that side of the park as possible. There are long-term, raggedy and run-down campers in here. And it's extremely loud. There is a race track within a stone's throw. We pulled in on Friday evening and the roar of the race cars was unbelievable. It went on until about 11:00 PM. We could also hear practice runs during the day on Saturday, but it wasn't nearly as loud. On a positive note, there are some nice big trees in the park. And it's conveniently located. We were without transportation and were able to walk to a restaurant and also to a flea market. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We purchased out first travel trailer from Camping World and stayed in the camp ground for 1 night to figure out what we got out selves into. We absolutely love it. The camp ground is nice, all pull thru. which, is great for people who don't know what their doing. There is a pol, but it was to cold to swim. The staff is very friendly. We didn't have to pay for camping, since we bought our travel trailer there so, I'm not sure what the normal cost would be. We would definitely stay there again, there are so many things to do in Chattanooga. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Good spot to overnight, not a destination park, for that I would go to the Holiday Travel Park about a mile west. Sites are narrow with large rocks at exit of sites, so caution on pulling out is needed. They will discount the rate with a Camping World President's Club membership. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not that nice, nothing special, staff not that friendly. Convenient having the parts store next door at Camping World; trash was picked up at site mostly several times a day. Longer rigs had a problem maneuvering corners. Sites were cramped and not that nice. Picnic table, some on concrete slabs. Pool was open and used, but we didn't get to try it out. "Fishing" ponds next door for guest use, I didn't get a nibble, but it's beautiful. Weekends had racetrack noise from across the highway from 8 pm to 11 pm, could hear them with TV and AC on from 10-11 pm. Grocery store and Family Dollar store across the street was handy, and a weekend indoor flea market. Rode my bike to Camp Jordan Park, across the street at the stop light; has a gravel path around the perimeter, a nice ride about 2.5 miles one way. Guess TN has regulations that you can only stay 2 weeks at a time (due to squatter's laws), so moved to Holiday Trav-L-Park, about 2 miles away. This is an okay place to stay if you are having your travel trailer serviced. The RV Dealership offers a free stay there upon your purchase of an RV...so our visit was free. Even though they have a few amenities such as a pool, the noise from the drag strip and interstate are a bit bothersome! Happy Camping! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We recently stayed here to drop off our coach for service. it is not the first time we have stayed there. It is an ok park, it's clean and quiet, we heard no stock car racing nor did we hear any noise of any kind. Camping World is a short walk away. It could use some WiFi. The only real bad thing about the park is the exit back out onto the main highway to get to the interstate. it is a left hand turn and there is no light and plenty of traffic going both ways. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice clean and quiet park. The check in process needs some guess work, but as long as you follow directions no problem. Just to let you know our trac vision 2 satellite system worked fine especially with the all the trees. My internet air card worked fine and I did find they have wifi around. The only negative is that you have to keep you dogs leashed right, so should the security who is walking around her dog who was 20 feet ahead of her. Definitely will come back and recommend. Raining when we left so didn't have time for the playground perhaps next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I must say that I smell a rat on the previous reviews. I highly suspect that the reviews were from friends of the business owners. Here's the good and bad from a real customer. Good - The grounds are kept neat and clean. The bathrooms are very clean. All sites are pull throughs. The campground is also easy to find. There was a nice pool for the kids. (No lifeguard of course) The bad - The campground is surrounded by businesses and at night the mecury lights are everywhere. I had to use eye covers to sleep. When we got there on Friday night we got out to setup and were greeted by the sound of stock car racing. The track is just a few hundred yards away. They didn't stop racing until 11:15 PM. And guess what? The lady that booked my reservation didn't mention a thing about the track. I guess she just forgot. I also asked the lady if I actually needed reservations and she told me that I should go ahead and book because they usually fill up on weekends. Well, it was getting close to full, but I noticed something after walking around a bit. While most of the sites were occupied with real campers, MANY sites had RV's with price tags from the dealer. Hmmm....glad I made reservations. Also, on the weekend, the office (which seems to be a part of Shipp's RV service) is not open. We didn't see campground personnel all weekend. I guess that can be good or bad depending on how you think about it. This would be an OK place to stop for the night, but you have to have reservations. On the other hand, there were several spots open, and since there is no one from the campground to be found on the weekend, I guess you could just make yourself at home and not worry about it. Very strange. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We have been staying at this campground every year for quite a few years and have always found the park clean and well maintained. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The sites are mainly gravel or grass, and although somewhat narrow, I have never felt cramped like I have at some other parks. Some sites have concrete patios. Many are shaded. The interior roads are paved and level, which makes for great bike riding. There is a heated pool and nice playground. Reservations are always handled accurately and efficiently, even for late arrival. Cabins are available for rent. There is also an RV sales office and service center on site. The park has easy access to I-75 and area attractions. We camped here in a camper.

This parks address is 2318 Gold Point Circle North in Hixson TN, if putting it in your GPS. It is on Chickamauga Lake. Has very friendly staff. We had a site that backs up to the lake so the $25 rate, others are $23.50. I guess we were lucky getting a lake front site, but this is the second time here and we got a lake front site then. No Reservations at this park. Rule 19 on back side of rate/rule sheets states wooden blocks must be used under jacks. They do come through and enforce that rule so make sure you use wooden blocks. Some sites are close together. Choose you site carefully. All roads and sites are paved. Showers and laundry are nice and clean. There is a dump station right in the park, but is not easy to acess. There is one with 3 dump stations about a half mile out of the RV park. The 3 dumps are in line, so if someone is in front, it could hold you up, or if they don't pull all the way forward you can't get in. Not a good system the way it is laid out. This is about the only drawback at this great park. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

If you are ever in the Chattanooga area stay at Chester Frost. You don't find much online about this park, because the locals want to keep it their secret. This is one of the best campgrounds in the country to camp. Has beautiful views of Nickajack lake; even if you don't get a water site, (high demand and hard to come by,) you will still have a nice view of the lake from the majority of sites. All sites are concrete, with gravel under picnic tables, and grass on a lot of sites; but not all have grass, depends on what part of the campground you stay in. Very clean and private showerhouses. Each shower is a separate room with a bolt locking door. Staff are very friendly. I would have given this campground a '10' if they had sewer hookups. Camped here for several years in a pop-up camper, and more recently: We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had a good time camping here. Facilities were clean. Campsites a little close to one another and not all level. Roads wide enough but some tight curves towards back of park may be difficult for larger trailers or RVs. Campground does not take reservations and was very busy the weekend after Labor Day so we did not get a prime site. Boats on lake can be noisy. Beach does not flow into water; instead there are steps into lake, therefore no shallow area for small children. Playground near beach is very nice and beach was very clean. If you have a boat and a camper or RV this would be an ideal place since some sites have their own docks. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We were very impressed with Chester Frost during our visit this fall. Most of the sites are paved and there are numerous sites that are close to or on the water. Site fees are affordable and the park seemed very well maintained. This campground would benefit from a reservation system as well as sewer sites and some updates to their restrooms. We live close to this campground and will stay for a week sometimes even while still going to work. Great Tennessee River lake front sites and wonderful new playground for the children. New bathhouse are immaculate. The county has put a lot of money into this park, with sod, flowers and buildings. The only drawback is not having sewer hookups, but that's why I bought a tank tote, so that we can enjoy nice campgrounds that don't have all the conveniences. Interior paved roads. Great place to ride bikes. Woods abound in the Dallas Island section and less trees on the other sites, but all are great. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful and well maintained park. There are two campgrounds, and we would recommend the one on the island. While the first campground had sites that were a bit close together, the sites on the island were nicely spaced and many are directly on the water. It was a great place to stay and visit Chattanooga. It's a beautiful area, and we plan to go back. We were here during October 2006, and the leaves were gorgeous. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camp here a few times a year. They have beautiful sites on the lake. The only downfall is they do not take reservations and when you arrive if you do not know the site number you want and you go look at it someone else can come up to window and take that site. They are starting to put site length on the sheet you get to see what sites are available. They only take cash or checks no charge or debit cards. Nice clean campground. You have to drive or ride a bicycle to swim area. I suppose you could walk but I bet the next time you would ride. We have camped at this park many times. This is a pristine campground extremely well maintained on beautiful Lake Chickamauga. The showerhouse/restrooms are cleaned/sanitized each morning, the trash is picked up from nice trashbins each morning. It is well patrolled also. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This campground is very nice and clean. It is well manicured. The sites are a nice size and all have a fire ring and picnic table. Chickamauga Lake is right outside your door. One of the best county or state campgrounds in the state of Tennessee. Located about 10
miles north of Hixson, Tennessee off highway 153. Great family and camping park with swiming areas and large sand beach. Paved RV spots with fire rings. Miles of walking/running areas. 2 Tennis courts. Boat launch and docks at camping area. Very clean bathrooms. Try it you won't be disappointed. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here recently and although the park has a lot of potential, it seems the owner doesn't care. The bathrooms need quite a bit of work as the floor feels as if it will fall through in some areas. The laundry room has more broken down washers and dryers than washers and dryers actually working. This park could be a beautiful RV park and the location is very convenient to the Chattanooga sites. However, it seems to be falling apart. We camped here in a Motorhome.

For someone who wants to take a family to see the Chattanooga sites like we did, this campground was just fine. It's not Disney's Fort Wilderness, but it was just fine for my upper middle-class family of four. It is as close as you can get to all the touristic type places, and that was a plus. We camped next to a family that consisted of the grandparents, their three grown children, and two grandchildren. We shared a fire a couple of nights and had a wonderful time. When I couldn't come up with anything to take 10% off when we showed up, the lady at the desk just did it anyway. Our total cost, with tax, for four nights was $86. That's what I need in my life to travel with the kids and see places! This is definitely not a fancy campground if that's what you are looking for, but I didn't have reservations and had the opportunity to drive through this one, Raccoon Mountain, and the Holiday Travel Park, and I would have chosen this one (and did, although the Holiday Travel Park was full). The Travel Park was probably a bit nicer, but there was no privacy there with a pop-up because everything is so jammed together. There was not a bug problem. There was really no problem. We had a great time at Ruby Falls, Incline Railroad, Rock City, TN Aquarium, IMAX movie, Chickamaugwa National Battlefield, and even drove over to Cloudland Canyon State Park in Georgia.

As far as camping in Chattanooga goes this was a dump. We went to this park (located directly behind the local liquor store) and just drove through. That is correct, we did not even stop...it was "trailer park trash!" at its best...or should I say at its worst. The park was right off the interstate but the access was horrible, we could barely get our 38' bounder in there with the car unhooked. As far as leaving goes, we did it rather quickly until we reached the main road to exit then you could not see the on coming traffic and we were nearly killed! This is a park that I would not recommend to my worst enemy! There is no telling what kind of management this place has but obviously they can't afford a lawn mower or some maintanence help! This is a scary Park. We left there and went and stayed at Shipps for three days, then to Raccoon Campground, both of which were God sent compared to this!! If you are in Chattanooga, STAY AWAY or you will not enjoy Chattanooga due to the slackness of this park. Go with the old saying "location location location " and you won't be staying here. We used this campground for an overnight stop to visit the aquarium. It is conveniently located near the interstate and is not far from restaurants, shopping and downtown. Pull through RV sites were level and of adequate size for easy access and departure. Wi-Fi and cable TV both worked very well and most sites appeared to have clear views for TV satellite access. Swimming pool, showers and bathrooms were very well maintained. We especially enjoyed a late evening swim as the weather was very hot during our stay. I have no complaints about any aspect of this campground and I would stay here again if I visit Chattanooga. They honored a 10% AARP discount but not Good Sam. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The views of the mountains from this park are awesome! Nice long pull-through sites, cable TV and wi-fi signals were strong. Nice big grassy area for the dogs to run in. The manager was not overly friendly, but answered our questions. Quiet hours were supposed to be 10 p.m. til 8 a.m., but at 7:15 a.m. a bunch of motorcyclists who were staying there started revving their engines and shouting to each other - not very quiet! Short drive to Walmart, restaurants, etc. If you get a chance eat at Casa Raul Mexican restaurant - excellent! We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were a little skeptical at first due to other posters commenting on the mud/lack of gravel on the sites. That is true; there was rain during our stay, but our site was not affected by the downpours; although other sites were. A lot of mud where tire tracks have rolled over it again and again. Staff was very friendly; a beautiful park to stay in overall. Has gorgeous views of Lookout Mountain, TN. If you are coming here for more than the camping, (caves and 'gift shop'), then that part may disappoint you. Some of the sites are very close together: the sewer hookup for the site next to us, was actually on our site. Despite some of the negatives, we would definitely stay here again. We stayed in site 18. It is a small site but ok. The staff not friendly, workers drive around without shirts and with loud boom boxes. The grounds are not well kept. It is worth staying a couple on nights to enjoy the caves and mountain views. Don't stay in the area around pool. The best sites are 18 - 24. The cable TV was horrible, there was no signal. The site itself was fine with everything in good order. The site we selected was near an open field and had a nice view of the mountain. We were concerned at check-in regarding maneuvering near the office as the turn is very tight and the driveway has some serious spots in need of leveling. The 'new' bathrooms were in terrible shape upon our arrival. The staff faulted a boy scout troop that had just departed. Upon the promise of immediate attention to the abhorrent conditions, we decided the stay. The bath houses are in need of an update and were not clean, but were not public health issues like the bathroom behind the office. The laundry was filthy with a hodge podge of old machines. We did not use them. We did like the quiet as the location is well away from the highway and the go-kart track was not being used during our stay. We would not stay here again as the bath house and laundry are not what we expect for the rate charged. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park, helpful staff, nice amenities. We took the cave tour, visited the gift shop, and played in the arcade. The cave tour was informative and fun, with a charismatic guide. We came for the cave tour and really enjoyed that part of our stay. Other offerings are a go-cart track, propane, laundry, rest rooms and nicely groomed sites. The park is an eight rating because there was some destruction, an old ski lift that had fallen into disrepair. There was also construction, around the gift shop and another building in stages of storage that could be seen through the windows, that took away from the appeal. The office is a small shack, not rustic, just under developed. A note about navigating to the park from the Interstate, it is a small, curving, rolling road that gets to the park, but that goes with the territory. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is located off of I-24 and most sites have a great view. We had a Premium Site with plenty of room. Bathhouse is clean and looks to have been recently remodeled. The pool was very nice and comfortably warm. The office staff isn't the friendliest, but helpful. There is a batting cage, arcade and Go-Carts. This is listed as a Good Sam park on the Good Sam website, but the park does not honor the Good Sam discount. When we checked in I informed them that we were Good Sam members and he said that he issued the discount. I looked at the receipt when I got to the site and realized we payed the $30 rate w/o a discount. I went back to the office and asked another employee and I was told that they had a falling out with Good Sam and they do not offer a discount for your membership. We are staying here for 4 nights so the Good Sam discount would have been $12.00. Raccoon Mountain RV Park does not list the Good Sam discount on their website, so guess I should not have assumed. The counter help needs a lesson on customer service. The first day we were there I thought maybe he was having a bad day, but the second day just affirmed he was a snotty young man that shouldn't roll his eyes when asked a question. The camp sites are really close. If you can do without cable hook up, opt for the cheaper sites, they have the most shade. The worst part of this campground is the bathrooms. They need a really good cleaning. The majority of the staff were young and the cleaning reflected that. The actual sites are clean, they continually ride around and clean the sites. There is a nice pool and the park seemed to be kid friendly cause there were kids everywhere. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

This was our 3rd trip to Raccoon Mountain. Plenty to do and see here. My son who is 6 and very active, had plenty to do. Between swimming, panning for gems, exploring the caves and the arcade area, it was great. The campground is very clean and the people, both staff and fellow campers are excellent. Everyone respects each other. We love this place as the prices are fair. A word of caution. If you visit anything like the Incline, Rock City or Ruby Falls they have become quick and dirty tourist traps. For the money they charge, you should get a little more. There is a place in Chattanooga called Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum: they are wonderful, their prices are great and they know how to put on a show. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Camped here with local Good Sam's Club for 3 nights, This park continues to impress me. They are upgrading it on a continuing basis. Reason for the 9 was it rained all weekend, not the parks fault. This is our second time here since 2004. Bathrooms (women's) have been updated since then for the better. Camped here with family and friends. Sites were a little unlevel, but hookups were just right for us. The paved patios were a plus since our last visit. We like the close proximity to downtown Chattanooga. Close to the skate park and other attractions that we all thoroughly enjoyed. We did not have any trouble with the management like the other reviewers. Matter of fact,I was told I was getting one site and it was occupied with a "long termer" so I just moved to the one beside it and there was no complications from management--they admitted their mistake. Will definitely go back. Also enjoyed the go-carts and on site cave and trails. I give it a 9 only because the sites were a little unlevel. And the pull through sites we had were adequate for our 30'-34' campers. (sites 132,133,134) We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The sites are very close and narrow. There were 4 rigs all booked for a 30' and the sites we got weren't even big enough to hold our 26' & 28' rigs. They mix long term and short term residents together. The bathhouse was atrocious. We mentioned it to them the first day we were there and again the second day. We were given a site that appeared to be in the middle of the road, and spent the first couple hours, constantly explaining to people that it was a site and not a road. If you must stay here refuse site 151. The area around the pool was surrounded with cig. butts and beer cans so I chose not to even take my kids in there. It looked like with some TLC (and maybe on a weekend other than the 4th of July) it could have been a nice place with a really nice playground, etc. Overall I was very disappointed and will not return and recommend you seek a different campground if you have to be in the area. This was a stop-over site for us on the way to and from Florida. It was ideal for quick over-nights. We got in late the first time and they had check-in info waiting for us to make it easy. The pull-thru they gave us was nice and level and we didn't even have to unhook. The second stay gave us a site with a concrete pad. We will likely come back for a longer stay on another trip. I was disappointed to find that we had reserved a "premium" pull-through site, and it didn't even have a concrete pad, although several of the others did (for the same price). The sites are very close together. After we extended our slides it felt as though we were on top of the neighboring sites. Also, every time I turned on the hair dryer the breaker tripped, even after everything else was unplugged which was very annoying. The campground has had the same owners for the past 15 years and have recently spent some money to clean the place up a bit. They have a large open field that would be perfect for some more spaced out sites. The playground was pathetic, it consisted of a wooden treehouse type structure with two slides, the swings (all 4 of them) were on the other side of the campground. All in all it was fine. But we will probably check out some other places before we stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a more rustic campground. It backs up to the Raccoon Mountain and Cavern and is a nice view. The sites are gravel with grass in between sites. The pull thrus were spaced nicely. The office was small and old. The staff was not rude, but not overly friendly. There were quite a few extra cars and other things around the campground. The campground was on both sides of the road. Wi-Fi was excellent. My biggest complaint was the lack of picking up trash that had been left by previous campers or blown around. I would stay here again. It was a quiet and pleasant setting but we were not in the campground too much. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I would have given the park a 10 if it had concrete pads and a little privacy between sites. Other than that the location to the high way is great. It is an easy in/out. The staff was very helpful and friendly and we were allowed to choose our own site. We paid $30.00 including tax for a 50 amp full hook up site with a great view. We have a 40 ft rig with 4 slides and had no problem navigating the park to our site and was able to leave the jeep hooked up. Also I found most site are satellite friendly and cell service is great on AT&T, Verizon, & Sprint. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great RV park. The sites were not remarkable, but relatively flat and big enough. The park itself is wonderful. Plenty of hiking, playground, field for sports or frisbee, a fun go-cart track and a cave ranked the 8th best in the United States a few steps from your RV. You can do anything from a walking tour of part of the cave, to an overnight, flat on your stomach, excursion in the dark. Gem Panning and a nice gift shop are available too. Chattanooga is one of our favorite cities and this park is close to downtown. There is an abundance of free transportation in this great walking downtown. We have already planned a return trip that is a little longer next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is obvious that someone has been spending some money and labor on the campground. We went there a year ago and it was not what we wanted as a place to camp. We had PT site #132. Site was gravel and basically level. Each site has a small picnic table and a fire ring(no grill). Some had small concrete pads at site. There are 5 cabins at park. Management has planted some trees between sites for future shade. We could not use our awning because tree was growing in the way. There is a nice playground near the pool, but we could not figure out why the swings were across the road and behind the office. When we checked in (on a Sat) we were told the go karts and pool would be open until 8pm that day and 6 pm on Sun and during week. We went down to the go karts at 7:30 pm and they told us they were closed already. We found out later that they don't open during the week after the summer holidays are over. Management was nice though and opened both the pool and the go karts for us to use. There is a cave on premises and gem mining as well. There is a gift shop next to the caves. Bath houses were old but kept clean. Showers in both men's and women's have been re-tiled. There is no place to leave your stuff in the women's stall though. They have racks across the room to place your items on. Chattanooga and attractions about 4 miles away. New Wal-mart about 10 min. away. We camped here in a Motorhome.

From the reviews before we were a little leery about staying here until we saw new owners have taken over and made improvements and still are. The site was level and had a nice concrete pad, but the grass was not mowed. There were only a handful of campers there during our stay so we pretty much had the entire campground to ourselves. We did go though the cave and had a personal tour so we were able to ask all the questions we wanted and spend more time in the areas we wanted. We saw the go-cart track but never could figure out the hours they were open. The pool was small, and closed early around 7. It was hot in Chattanooga (records temps) and had little shade so the AC units had to work had just to keep it bearable in the motorhome. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our very first trip with our new travel trailer, so we were a bit nervous when we arrived. We camped in a pull through site. Our site had a small tree, so we could not put our awning out the entire way because the branches were in the way. The campground appeared to be at full capacity the entire time we were there. The area that we stayed in had all RV’s, but the campground did offer tent camping and it appeared to be full. We saw several groups of boy scouts! Our boys loved the go carts and raced several times. We did not have time to do the cave tour. Our campsite was gravel with a small concrete slab. Gravel roads..... The pool was small and we did use it one afternoon. For the most part, it stayed covered up. We spent one afternoon at Rock City (the drive was so close!) We were very close to downtown, so we did drive in one day to see a movie and eat pizza at the Mellow Mushroom. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I live in North Alabama and we had originally booked the Hale's Barr Marina about 15 miles west of Chattanooga. We picked this over Raccoon Mountain cause they were right on Nickajack Lake and I thought that I could see this campground from the Interstate in the past when I would come from Gatlinburg. What I thought was Hale's Barr wasn't, it was a county park or something. Anyway, when we went to Hale's Barr, I seriously thought I was attending a re-enactment of "Deliverance". I knew Raccoon Mountain was a nice place cause we stopped there a few weeks ago on our way back from the Smokies to check it out. As soon as I saw Hale's I was dialing up Raccoon Mountain and praying they had availability. They did and we got the heck out of dodge. Anyway, we had a blast at Raccoon.....the pool, the mountains, and the area itself was just awesome. We all raced each other on the go-carts (which you can walk to, its on the premises), and played some video games. My only complaint would be that some of the workers at the go-cart track drive too fast down the road that leads to the track. Our dog was almost hit after she pulled free from her leash. We are definitely going back and look forward to it. The staff at check-in was also very friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Hello, I have been to two major campgrounds and several smaller ones since I bought my RV last summer. The second spot I would like to recommend is Raccoon Mountain TN. This place is awesome, very scenic and quiet. Full amenities and you can explore the caves, do some panning with the kids, relax and enjoy yourself at your site or by the pool. The staff is very friendly and are willing to assist in any way possible, within reason. Chattanooga is a stone throw away and offers all the cool stuff for families like the TN Aquarium, The TN Valley RailRoad, and of course the river front. Five Stars in my opinion. We spent Memorial Weekend with 2 other campers; two 5th Wheels and one travel trailer. Us in our 33 ft 5th Wheel and the 29 ft Trailer had sites next to each other (139 & 140). Do not believe older reviews about permanent residents in run-down trailers. There are none. The park appears to be undergoing renovations. They are fixing up the bathrooms and it looks like they are working on the swimming pool. This has the potential to be an even better campground in the future. Full hookup sites, lots of cable TV channels available. Some people were using satellite dishes but I didn't see the need. Most sites are pull through, will accommodate large rigs. Some shade. Nice for using as a home base to visit sites in Chattanooga, less than 10 min from downtown. 20 min from Lodge outlet. In a quiet residential area, shopping 2 miles away. Good weekend spot, or exploring spot, right off 24 with no highway noise. Next door to Raccoon Mtn cave, also appears to be a go kart track that was not in operation during our visit. The bathrooms were in the process of being remodeled, so there was only 1 shower for the whole campground, and it wasn't any too clean. The staff was young and not too knowledgeable or friendly. Our family visited this park last month. There were beautiful views of mountains, the campground was very well kept and clean, there was a fire ring onsite, and there were lots of things for kids to do. The cave was beautiful. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. This was our first time camping in our new RV and the manager of the park helped us with our utility hook ups. Nice park, friendly staff, close to all area attractions, clean facilities what more could you want? Beautiful views also not sure about the long term people they spoke of we did not see any. Thanks for having a great place to stay we will be back and we will recommend it to our friends. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Moved here from another park much further from town. Had to settle for a back-in site with partial hookups first night then moved to a full hookup site for last 2 nights. My wife loved the mountain views while the kids thoroughly enjoyed the gem panning and go-carts. I thought that the bathrooms were clean. They only had 3 wash machines and they were kept busy. Sites were gravel with grass area. Park appeared to have a couple of long-term campers. Met one while walking and he said that park was eliminating its long-term sites. An electric transformer went out and we were without power for about two hours until a power truck arrived and fixed the problem on the pole. Decent playground and real nice cave on the property. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park seemed a bit run down. Lots of long term residents living in uncared for trailors. The restrooms were disgusting the entire weekend. The park was over run with non-campers using the on sight go carts, very loud. I had several issues with the electric hookup not pushing enough volts. I will not be returning. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Camped here with family and friends. Enjoyed the easy access to the attractions such as
Rock City, Ruby Falls etc. The only complaint we had was with the bathrooms. Tile was falling off the walls and the bahtrooms looked dirty. Service was O.K. Never seen any of the employees except at check in. Enjoyed the cave that was on site, also the mining for gems and fossils. Would rate it higher except for the bathrooms. Will definitely go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Decent campground. We pulled in late at night, so it was dark and couldn't see much. Not
real easy to maneuver through. We arrived and started filling out a late registration form when a young man arrived (it was 11:30) and opened the store to get us registered. When we expressed some concern about the weather, he turned on the Weather Channel for us--really nice. Great view of the mountains and not far off the interstate. Road is good leading to campground. When we left, it was pouring rain, so we didn't really get to stay but overall, it was a nice campground and convenient to most attractions in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice quiet campground. Off the main road far enough to be quiet, but not too far to drive. The staff was great, super friendly and helpful. Stayed here in a tent a few year earlier, and was happy to see some improvements to this nice campground. Was happy to return. Plenty of room to let the kids run, and walk the dog. The surrounding scenery was spectacular. Only stayed one night, but want to return when we have time to enjoy more of what the campground has to offer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great campground. Very affordable, but out of the way. Don't feel like you are camping in the city. Beautiful views of Lookout and Racoon mountains. We spent Thanksgiving there, and look forward to spending it there again in 2003. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I really enjoyed my stay at this park in August. They had the absolute cleanest bathrooms that we encountered along our entire trip! The park was well maintained and the staff courteous. They did appear to have one section with several "permanent" campers but both the campers and the sites were well maintained. I do not recall seeing the hordes of children who do not attend schools but there again most kids are usually
out of school in the summer. I have stayed at this park at least once a year for the past nine years and
have seen improvements each year. We camped here in a camper.

I camp all over the united states. As far as friendly people go this is the place to be. The staff is young but still very knowledgable in all the aspects of making us older folks happy. The restrooms were fabulous...taken care of by an older couple who obviously love their job and take pride in it. It was very easy to find as it was barely a mile off the interstate. The park was very well maintained (grass kept low, no BUGS what so ever, and beautifully set with an amazing view of lookout mtn. and raccoon mtn.) It was only 5 min out side of chattanooga (all the places you would want to go...Tennessee Aquarium, Southern Belle Riverboat ride, and all the restraunts.) The park has a cavern on the property that is gorgeous...(shhh dont tell Ruby Falls). It was also close to the incline and rock city. We stayed there for 3 days, then went to
shipps, wish we would have stayed at raccoon mtn the 3 other days we were in chattanooga. This was one lovely park that was well kept and professionally staffed. Good Job Guys!! We camped here in a camper.

A very run down park, mainly filled with long term "gypsy" tenants. Lots of kids running around who don't attend school and trailers that haven't been cared for or washed since the Carter Administration. Also much further off the interstate than the other parks in the area on winding little roads. A real shame as this was once a nice family destination park. We camped here in a camper.
