Our objective in a passing through/overnight facility, is for a clean, quiet, and equipped services as advertised. This facility does that and gives me a level site as well. As an overnight, it is sufficient. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stopped here on our way to NM because they were a Passport America park. When we arrived the owner told us he couldn't honor the quoted rate of $16 because the park wasn't doing too well. This is frustrating when you are on a budget for campground fees, have made reservations, and been quoted a specific rate on the phone. This CG is very plain with no amenities. Sites are close together. If there would have been an RV on our door side, we wouldn't have been able to put our awning out. Despite changing our rate, the owner was friendly and helped us into our site. The rate does include WI-FI, cable TV and 50 amp service. As in much of TX, there are stickers in the grass and our dogs both got them in their feet. I would only stay here again if there were no other choices. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a very plain CG. It is about 1/4 mile off of the interstate so noise is not a problem. Like a lot of the West Texas CGs, it is mostly full of workers living here but it has not taken on the trashy look that most CGs do when full of workers. The couple who own it are very nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great place to stop when crossing Texas. Passpot America rate is $15.00 per night. Very clean, quite, easy on/off I-20 We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a quiet place to stay. However, it gives the appeal the owners woke up one day and decided to build an RV Park. After that, there was no thought put into it. There is electricity and sometimes running water. No other amenities. They constantly go up on the rent. I could understand if they offered other amenities, and it wasn't a dirt pit with a few trees. They have non potable water. It stains everything. If you pay for a month and you have to leave a week or 2 after paying, DO NOT request a refund. It will not be given. They do not believe in refunds because people will use your electricity and then leave without paying. If I have paid you for a month of service and I only use 2 weeks of it, you owe me a refund. I haven't used your electricity and run off without paying. Camper beware!! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The campground is easy to find and close to major highways for easy access. It is not fancy and it does have a lot of permanent campers who works the oil fields, but they are nice and quiet so no problem. It is a good place to get off the road. This was our first time here and will use it again as we travel through this area of Texas. The campground is not a member of any RV clubs, but they will give you a discount just for traveling in Texas. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Unattractive older park with very basic facilities. Restrooms and showers in back of park dingy. Office "store" a joke. Had a handful of items. Counter help not friendly or helpful. No cable available at site we used (H). Park full the night we stayed. Lots of long term campers. We would not stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed here in previous years and were satisfied. This time, we were not happy campers. With the local oil boom, the campground has expanded with twice as many sites than previous and most of those sites are rented to oil workers. Don't get me wrong I am pro-oil and used to work for a major oil company. I like oil workers and am glad they are being accommodated. However, It appears the owners are raking in the profits and doing little for the occupants, especially those like us passing through. They gave us one of the new sites, a pull through. It had a new electrical pedestal. After settling in, I found the electrical pedestal was wired incorrectly. Instead of 50 Amp service, it had 30 amp. The wiring was phased incorrectly. This was evident by my Progressive Surge Protector and my PCS control system. I called the office and they sent a maintenance man. He had an attitude and blamed my surge protector on my 2012 motor home. I told him my surge protector was OK, to no avail. They would not accept responsibility for the incorrect wiring. I asked for a partial refund and was refused. They told me my only option was to move to another site. We decided not to and lived with 30 amp service for 2 nights. Also, the new sites are covered with large gravel with a white powder dust and gets tracked everywhere. They made no attempt to water and wash the gravel. It was a mess. Also, all the trash dumpsters were full to overflowing and no one seemed to care. We will never stay there again. It in one thing to have problems, but bad attitude of the owners is not to be tolerated. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice rv park. We stayed here in-transit to New Mexico. We liked it so much we stayed again on our return trip to Texas. We called in advance to reserve a space. They are very full due to workers there year round. Don't leave it to chance that they may have openings. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful. She filled our propane tank for us and was very customer oriented. Only down side was the laundry. The dryers need to be upgraded; they didn't dry well and cost me extra quarters for the loads. But the laundry was a clean facility nonetheless. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This campground is a little on the rustic side. Road is paved, sites are gravel and weeds, pull through was fairly level, big rig access is okay. Not a lot of space or privacy around the RV, there are a few trees, some grass with lots of sticker burrs for your dogs feet and an old picnic table. Some traffic noise from the main road. Bathrooms and laundry are old, basic but clean. There is a small dog walking area. WiFi and cell are good. Wal-Mart, HEB and restaurants are a few miles away. This campground is full of permanent residents, with just a few spaces left for overnighters. We would not stay here again. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate reflects the Good Sam Discount. The gravel sites were level, although not much shade here. We stayed only 1 night but if we were going to stay longer, I would have looked for something with more shade. The pool was closed but the staff did tell me when I made the reservation. Food/shopping/fuel were all a close distance away from the park. The sites can accommodate a large 5th wheel with slides or a Class A. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Well laid out, small quiet park with a friendly staff. We arrived after normal hours and the folks there were very helpful in getting us into a site for the night. They are near a public park with opportunities for walking and bike trails. Coming from Arizona and New Mexico, we found a refreshing number of trees and areas of grass here. We will stop here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We have used this park for an overnight stop several times. The sites are long enough for us to stay hooked up to our 34' fifth wheel. The park has cable TV with 60+ channels. We have always had a good Wi-Fi signal in sites close to the office. Staff is very friendly. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park is OK for an overnight, friendly staff, bathroom was not very clean. Bathrooms also require combination, however no lights outside so in the dark it is impossible to see the numbers on the combo lock (bring a flashlight). Park does need some updating. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Owners were very friendly and helpful. Rec room was excellent. The negatives are very little grass, not many trees and it was quite dusty. All in all it is a good park that I can recommend, even with a few landscaping drawbacks. Easy to get in and out of, and close to the main hiway. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Best park in the entire area including Midland or Odessa. We have stayed multiple times in the large, big rig friendly sites. Very long sites with a little privacy fence between them, full hook up with 50 amp. They don't have many of them so be sure to call ahead for reservations. The office closes down at certain hours during the day but opens back up for the evening. The roads in this park are easy to maneuver a large rig. We will continue to stay in here when passing through the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice older park, it needs some TLC even though that didn't stop us from staying here for a week. The pool is closed because of some space issue with the County. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Easy in and out from Rt. 87 just east of Big Springs. Watch for the signs on your left, halfway down the hill. Don't worry if you miss it, as Wal-Mart is just a mile down the road on the right behind Taco Bell. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Decent park. Currently tearing down the rec hall. Pool is STILL closed, not noted on any website or anywhere during check-in. Girl behind counter said it has been closed for quite a while and the man running around in the golf cart said it was closed recently. Still charged the extra per child fee, even when the kids aren't using any of the "facilities". Facilities that are currently closed. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice size RV park. They had a rec hall but the ceiling has caved in 3 - 4 months earlier. The pool and hot tub was shut down by the health inspector. The grounds are tidy for the most part. Most people don't clean up after their dogs. I won't be staying here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were impressed with this RV park. It's off a major road, easy access, mature trees, level and very spacious sites with a gravel like pad, great cable, and good water pressure. It was kept very clean and even with the long term residents, it was one of the quietest RV parks we've stayed at. We did not use any of the park's accessories (bathhouse, laundry, or pool), but park was very dog friendly (we travel to dog shows). The park staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We have used this park at least a dozen times in our transit from Minnesota to Arizona and return, and also a 3-4 day stay to explore the area. While not a "destination resort", it is a well kept park with very friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere. Complimentary pancakes in the morning before you hit the road. We hope to stay here many times in the future. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I noticed the rates are not current on your website. The $33 we paid was a Good Sam rate. Wifi is an extra charge, and the directions to use it are lengthy and complicated. A park is not family friendly if they add a fee for each child age two and over, it is $3. If you are not out by 11am you will be charged another half day. Close to a major highway. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is good for an overnight stay. It is mostly filled with permanent residents, even the cabins seemed to be occupied by permanent rodents. We stayed on a Friday night and there was a lot of traffic in and out of the park. Designated pet run was in poor repair and very small. Large pull through sites in center of the park are good for overnighting. Easy to get in and out of. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We liked our site at this park, which was a long, level pull through. The parks in this part of Texas are all old and run-down. However, this park is not run down and we found it to be more than adequate. The staff was friendly, easy to find and big rig friendly. We will stay again when we are passing through the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed in this park overnight. Good long pull in sites. They advertised Wi-Fi, but you have to pay for it, which is a negative. Also, they advertise free pancakes in morning - again not offered, which is false advertising. Staff nice but not overly friendly. Clean facilities. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Decent park, stayed overnight as we passed thru. The $35 rate is a bit high but tolerable. The owner was in town and was helpful with a couple of minor issues. Staff was friendly. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a nice place to stop. Has relatively level sites . No real shade, but good pull through. Big Spring park is near by, not much here. Owners were friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice layout, friendly people. There were lots of sites with trees, but there weren't any on the site we were given; I suspect that's because we were in a pull-through and several of the treed spots were back-ins. Not a destination park and it isn't particularly convenient given it's on the south side of town and about as far away from I-40 as it could get while being considered in Big Spring. This was a quick, one night deal and we'll be back if the occasion arises. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This part of Texas has an opportunity for more RV Parks but this one came through for us, when we called 45 minutes ahead of arrival. We had stopped in Odessa without a reservation and were turned away. We continued east on I-20, reviewing our options. Although I had to leave a voicemail, the call back was within 15 minutes. We were at exit number 171 and needed to turn off on exit 177 when I got the call. The check in process was most efficient, with a 90' pull through awaiting us. The one draw back, is that this park is 5 miles off of the interstate. You have to drive through town, through alot of stop lights, but who cares when you have a nice place to stay after ten hours of driving. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
They list their address as being on Highway-87, but the actual GPS address is 1001 Hearns Street. They offer discounts for AAA, AARP, and Goodsam. It has dirt sites that were level. Wifi is $5 extra, pay in the Office to get your password, it worked great. 60-channel TV was good. The indoor hot tub and swimming pool were clean. The restrooms could use some paint, but were also clean. The noise from Hwy-87 was constant during the day, but quieted down at night. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
If you are driving from somewhere like the Carlsbad Caverns, to Dallas, and you have to stop for the night in Big Spring: this is the best of the three campgrounds available here. Trust me, that doesn't say much. We passed by the other two, and I really don't think you want to stay there. We arrived in the evening. They left a late-check-in package for us, but not the combinations for the bathroom / showers, so we had to go without them until the office opened in the morning. When they did open, they were fairly clean and heated which was appreciated given the very cold weather. In the morning we were treated to a pancake breakfast in the office, which was very nice. The owner and staff took an interest in our trip and I thought everything was going quite well. Then at 11:15am, when I was finishing filling my water tank and closing up, the owner came around in his cart and told me it was time to "move on". He said that they had already "done quite a lot for us, more than any of the other campgrounds around here would" and that if I had bothered to read his rules, I'd know that check-out was at 11am. Now, first of all, the campground was only 1/2 full, if that. Secondly, I was obviously packing up, and it was only 15 minutes past 11. We had told them that we found them through RVparkreviews so he had to guess that I would write a review about them, why would you be so rude to a customer? The pancakes were nice, but the rest of the park was truly nothing special. Gravel sites, 10 feet from each other, with one tree between them. Better than a parking lot, but believe me: if you can, keep driving. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We over nighted here. Basically it is a dust patch. We did not check out the pool but used the showers and restroom. They were the fourth cleanest of this trip. We used all of our leveling blocks and had to steer around some obstacles to park at our site. (Other sites were better). We enjoyed the gravel parking lot we stayed in the following night much better. I would probably search out other options in the area before returning here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Some long Pull-Thrus. Friendly staff. Was told there would be a charge for Wi-Fi after 8 free minutes but we were connected all night for no fee. It worked good. Good cable. Heated indoor pool looked good. Older campground with all gravel roads and pads. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Returned to park after not using for several years. This park is now under new ownership. The park is much cleaner and the improvements are noticeable. The staff was friendly & helpful. The indoor pool & spa were clean and very warm. A new overnight pull through area is nice. Sites are close together, but nicely divided with a fence. Each site has a table. Utilities are modern & well placed. We inquired about Wi-Fi and it is sold by an outside company. When I called the company their office was closed. The park itself has no Wi-Fi. Hopefully this will be a future improvement. We have tried all the parks in the area and we find this one to be the best facility & value in the area! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park with friendly and helpful staff. Stayed one night while passing through the area. Nature trail is small but interesting. Did not use indoor pool but it looked in good condition. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The office was closed when we arrived so we pulled into a very long pull through and registered when they reopened at 3:00pm. Good 50amp power but the water tastes terrible. Sites are gravel and level, the Wi-Fi is good. Very satellite friendly. The sites where we parked are separated by 4 foot fences for some privacy. Picnic tables at each site. We would stay here again, but mostly as just an overnight because of the water. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for three nights while we were in the area to attend an all star football game in Garden City. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and they serve free pancakes in the office/store for campers. The campground was very neat and clean and not much traffic noise. We travel with our two dachshunds and the campground is pet friendly. The temps were upwards of 107 while we were there and they had a couple of surges that knocked the power out but it was quickly restored. The seven rating is mainly due to the fact that there wasn't a lot of shade, more pine trees than anything, and most of the shadier places were reserved for monthly people. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The people were friendly, including a host who rolled up as we were reading instructions for late arrivals. He was very helpful in steering us to a nearby and very handy spot for our overnight needs. It was clean and quiet here, except for some highway noise. Better signs from the Interstate might have helped, but we found the park OK by staying on the highway through town (about four miles) without giving up. Good place to bunk down halfway across Texas. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a old park that is well maintained. The office was not open when we arrived, but one of the camp hosts came up and helped us. They have a small store which offers quite a bit. They offer pancakes for breakfast for over night guests. We would stay there again if we pass thru the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
While the previous posts leave a rather bad impression of this campground, I think just the opposite. I have camped here while passing through this area annually for the past 4 years. The new owner (2 years ago), has made considerable improvements and the campground is much cleaner. The sites for overnight campers are large and have a new fence between each site. The sites are level and very long. You can easily keep your tow vehicle attached to your RV. The office is clean and well arranged. The swimming pool was open and several kids appeared to be having a great time. Yes, there are a large number of full timers (local workers) camped here. Their sites are clean and mostly on the back side of the campground. The management is friendly and helpful. Overall, for an overnight stay in west Texas, this is hard to beat. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This RV Park was very outdated and not very well maintained at all. Their website needs to be updated since the pool and hot tub are not available for use and their store had very little in it. However, their lot was decent and somewhat level. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Website said "expect to be impressed", however we were sadly disappointed. The park's not bad looking for west Texas. But depending on what site they put you in, you might have some trees and you might not. They have an indoor pool along with cable and WIFI that worked well (however only 8 minutes are Free then you have to pay). The first site they gave us was in a nice location and amply wide. However after getting everything all set up, we realized the breaker kept blowing for the AC. After working with this for several hours in the 100 degree heat, we determined the camper wasn't getting enough power from the park. We were in a 30 amp site, so the park kindly moved us to a 50 amp site. But we were told to not get to attached to this site, as it was temporary until another monthly site would come available. This site worked the first night, but only by keeping our AC on low. Then the next day, once we got into the heat of the day, the breaker blew again. It wouldn't even work on low. We tested the park power and once again it had dropped below the minimum voltage needed to run the AC. After complaining to the park, they suggested we leave since there was nothing they could to do for us. After first telling us that no one else was having these problem, they eventually told us they had been having problems with the power company not supplying enough power to run all their sites on a full load in the heat of the day. So depending on where you are parked, you might get enough power to run your AC and you might not. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The park is clean and has probably the cleanest showers/restrooms we've seen in a campground. The pool and hot tub, however, were a different story. Both smelled like stagnant water and obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while. THIS PARK IS NOT KID FRIENDLY. If you have kids, do not stay in this park. It has nothing for the kids to do by themselves. It looks like the vast majority of the park is taken up by seniors and oil field workers. There is a very rude old man who seems to work as the park host. My kids were sword fighting in the pool with flotation noodles and we were the only ones in the pool area. The old man came in and yelled at my wife for this behavior. The kids were doing nothing wrong other than enjoying the pool. He threatened to have us thrown out of the park after I told him not to yell at my wife. When I identified myself as a police officer he backed down, but remained very rude to us. The place is clean, but if you're under the age of 60, don't bother stopping here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
With the ratings given this campground in the Trailer Life Directory, we expected much more. Even their ad states, "Expect to be Impressed." The campground has seen better days. It appeared run down with many permanent folks. We had a pull-thru site & still had to unhook, and our 5er is only 30 feet. This park is fine for an overnight, but that's about it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A run down park--mostly permanent folks with a few sites for overnighters. The site was long enough that we could leave the car hooked up. The 50 amp connection did not work and the 30 amp tripped when I used the hair dryer. At least there was some grass to walk the dog!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy to access and maneuver in for large rigs. Sites were extra long and mostly level. Nothing fancy but a good over night stop. Managers were friendly and helpful. Great indoor swimming pool. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice resort right next door to an 18 hole municipal golf course Comanche Trail. Nitely rate was 27 dollars with a Good Sam discount. Park was very clean and quit. Only negative comment was about Trailer Life's driving instructions to the park. Driving off I-20 directly thru town is not the way to go. Recommend you call the park for a better route via FM700 (a by-pass route). We stayed here in a 36 foot 5th wheel with plenty of room to negotiate turns and level grassy sites. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Revisited park in 40' motorhome. Park is for sale and is in need of some maintenance. Roads are paved, but deteriating to dirt. Sites are dirt and mostly level. Some tree trimming is needed. Our site had a concrete pad which needed repair and was not well placed. A nice table was provided. Utilities were modern & well placed. Sites are wide enough for any size coach with any number of slides. Located well off I-20 so it is quiet. Used as overnight stop over. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good for overnight stay. Sites are close together but adequate. Staff very friendly, but campground is old and in need of upgrades. Close to shopping, adjacent to city park with good golf but far enough off highway to be quiet. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Liked the proximity of Comanche Park adjacent to RV park. Hot and dusty as is west Texas. We spent three weeks by paying monthly rate but was surprised when electric was added to the attractive longer term rate. Owners very friendly and helpful and they'll buy you a breakfast. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Several miles (15 minutes) off I-10 past small city of Big Spring. Next to "Comanche Park"
which has an outstanding Christmas lights display, and in season swimming, golf, recreational activities. Park offers free pancake breakfast and has very reasonable home-cooked dinner for travellers available. Friendly staff. Sites are dirt or gravel, some improvements being made. Several cabins available. Wi-Fi system requires your PC "MAC" number, requires in-office activation, is overpriced, has mediocre transmission. They should change to an easy-to-use system like "Coachconnect.net". A nice park for families because it is spacious. Next door to a Catholic church. Quiet area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here 3 or 4 times in the past 3 years for 'overnighters' or 1-2 day stop on
our travels further west. This is a comfortable park, with friendly staff. Sites run a little on the small size, but this is really not a "destination", so for a short stay, it was perfectly acceptable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is located about 3 miles east of I-20. Made for a quiet night without road or train noise. A sign on interstate stated new park in 2002--new to owners. It appears this is an older trailer park that is now a rv park. Construction is ongoing on improving the facility. Our site was sandy dirt and narrow. Enough room for slideout(s), but on top of neighbors utilities. Table was next to sewer hookups of next motorhome. Park had nice store, great indoor pool and nice outdoor spa. Free breakfast was offered. Owners may be better served to spread out overnighters which would cover narrow site issue. Would stay again as it may be the best park in area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an overnight stop only. The sites are long enough for big rigs and a tow. Pro: utilities work and water pressure is OK, but could be little better and does fluctuate a bit during peak times. They do have a nice line up of cable TV choices. The internet was fast and stays on. Management apparently does enforce a leash rule. There is a fenced in area for dogs to play, but not everyone picks up after their pets. The cons: too pricey for what you get. The spaces are incredibly close together; they are within 12-18 inches of each other with slides out. No place to sit out and no place to cook out. This is largely a permanent live-in and workers park. There are only 6 or 7 spaces for travelers. There is noise from the freeway. The road is gravel, dust is horrible. The managers are the worst offenders at stirring up the dust as they race around on the park cart. Sites haven’t been mowed or trimmed in a while; some grass is so tall it almost hides the utility poles. Some very old and derelict looking units here. Sticker burrs are everywhere! Very surprised that this park rating was as high as it is with Trailer Life. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very convenient location on I-20. Some road noise from interstate, but not objectionable to us. Mostly long term residents. All sites are gravel & fairly level. Only have 7 sites with 50 amp service, so be sure to check availability prior to arrival. Wi-Fi & cable TV worked well. Restrooms & laundry were clean. Very friendly manager. Would stay here again for an overnight stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Small, old park, nothing to write home about. Bathrooms were not very clean and needed updating. Staff was very friendly and helpful. OK for overnight, especially since there I are not many RV parks in west Texas on I-20. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
THIS PARK IS AT EXIT 184, DO NOT FOLLOW GPS UNLESS IT IS TAKING YOU TO EXIT 184. After we got lost and called, the man who answered the phone stated that the GPS always sends people to the wrong location. It would be nice to find that information on a webpage. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Man in office was friendly and escorted us to our site. They do "pack them in" and the sites were a little closer together than what we prefer, but the neighbors were quiet. Hook ups worked well. The one thing that put us off was that there was dog waste everywhere in the park, even though there are signs posted requesting that you scoop. The dog area was full of waste too. The park does have easy access off I-20. Sites were hard-packed gravel and leveling was not difficult. Note from admin: GPS address is 32.27391 / -101.37013 to office. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Arrived after dark. Office was closed. Called number on the office door and a nice man sped up in a golf cart. He had us follow him around the park and eventually into our spot. The spots were a little closer together than I would have preferred, but neighbors were quiet, so no problem. There was cat roaming around and I was afraid it was going to leave paw prints on our car. Nope, wasn't a problem. I even accidentally left our car window down No problems. Hookups worked fine. Cable had lots of channels. My only complaint is that the park access road was right behind our spot and was noisy. We kept hearing vehicles driving back and forth over the gravel as they came and went from their spots. Other than that, it's a good overnight stay kind of place. We'd stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice little park right off the interstate. Heard train a few times, but noise didn't bother us. Sites close together. Friendly management. Has a fenced doggie area, laundry, free wireless internet. We have stayed here previously. We would stay here again for an overnight. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Glad I made a reservation, manager was turning folks away as I was signing in at 4:00 pm. Oh, when you are signing in, beware of the "greater cat". She will jump up on the counter and if you pet her once pretty much that's all you're going to do during registration. Manager was great. All she had left was 50 amp but only charged us for 30 amp. She guided us to our site which was pea gravel but level. Easy on/off from I-20; the highway noise was tolerable. Many cable channels and Wi-Fi was great. Sites are a little narrow but got all three slides out and didn't feel cramped due to herring bone layout of CG. Great overnight stop and will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is our third visit and each time the park has improved. Whip In is a simple, overnight park with easy access and a short driving distance to shopping. It also has really nice management. We will definitely return. Rates reflect, TACO/Escapees/Good Sam rates. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Small RV Park. A very nice lady checked us in, very friendly. The site width was adequate. The site is gravel and was level. The road is packed dirt, wide enough to maneuver. Wi-Fi worked well enough was slow, due to our location in the park. We were parked in the back area, made it a bit quieter from the Highway. They are pet friendly, have a little area for the dogs to play. Overall the place is clean and cared for, very reasonable rates. Nothing fancy, good for an overnight stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Rate reflects Escapees. Owners are nice: said they recently bought it but have owned others. Many spaces obviously were long-term residents: normal in this area. Landscaping work is ongoing; the dirt interior roads in dry West Texas were as usual. The spaces are Very Narrow. The 4-slide guy had to move or touch the neighbor; only 7 have 50 amp. Access from I-20 was easy. This is not an RV Resort, but we'd stay here again for an overnight. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Revisited park which is under new management. Park roads are dirt and gravel. Sites are as narrow as possible. My table was next to my neighbor's utilities. The utilities worked as designed. Park is big rig friendly as we didn't have to unhook our tow vehicle. Wi-Fi was excellent. Used as overnight only. If you want to park and stay in your RV it is fine. No room outside. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here one night but would gladly stay here again. Spaces were long, a little narrow, but level. Office personnel were friendly and hospitable, she met us at our site and made sure our wheels were on the most level spot. Cable for TV was at the site and plenty of it. Restrooms were exceptionally clean and showers were spotless. There were a lot of workers living here but their spaces were well kept. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed in this park for one night in route to New Mexico. We were satisfied with the park for a one night stay. The park had some permanent residents, but there were several sites open for traveling RVer's. We would stay in this park again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Even though this is a small park, with close spaces, and all gravel and dirt, it is one of the best places we have stayed. The baths were cleaner than most bathrooms in private homes. It was unbelievable. When we checked in we were told how to get to our site and she would meet us there. She guided us in and explained all the hook-ups, even though we have been doing this for about 12 years. One nice thing is they provide the cable for the cable connection. There was plenty of it to reach our connection on our rig. The dog run is great, however some people still do not have the courtesy to pick up after their dogs. The laundry was inexpensive and clean. The only reason we did not give it a 10 is because there is no pool, even though that doesn't matter to us. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone being in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground was a pleasant surprise. Staff is very friendly, gravel sites are long and fairly level, and it is right off Interstate 20. The dog area is grassy and fenced in. Traffic noise was not a problem. We'll stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Sites are real close together. Voltage is good and water pressure was good. Gravel roads and sites. It served the purpose for us as a stopover for 2 nights. Sites were fairly level. They do have a nice fenced dog run. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We pulled in with no reservation and the lady said no problem. They were very friendly, directed us to our site. Cable TV has 63 stations, Wi-Fi worked perfectly, lady even checked on us after we hooked up to make sure everything worked to our satisfaction. Would stay here again most definitely. Has some road noise, but what do you expect right by a highway. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy access off I20. A little road noise, but tolerable. Easy maneuverability. Level, gravel sites. Owner very friendly and helpful. Cable TV (63 channels) and WI-FI worked perfectly. They even supply the cable TV hookup cable, neatly coiled on the utility post. Rate reflects the Escapees discount. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Perfect overnight stop right off I-20. Level pull-thru sites, friendly owners, road noise is not burdensome. Spotless laundry with excellent new machines (washer $1.00/40 minute wash and dryer $1.00 for 60 minute dry) that actually get things clean unlike most campground machines for more. We will always stop here for overnight when this way. Sites close but for overnight, who cares? We camped here in a Motorhome.
Not much of a park for anything other than a place to park for the night. The park is located just off the interstate so the road noise is constant. Gravel sites, some sites are large enough for big rigs, some picnic tables. Most sites are very close together. Sitting in a chair with the back of the chair against the coach, my knees were five feet from the truck beside us. We would only stay here again only if something happened, and we couldn’t travel farther. Free WiFi with a very unstable connection. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I agree with other reviewers: this is a nice park for an overnight stop. Friendly owners and level sites. Escapees discount was a nice bonus. Extremely reasonable price compared to other parks in this area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were very pleased with this for an overnight stay. The attendant was very helpful even though we arrived after hours. Would definitely stay there again if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Perfect place for overnight stop. Very convenient access to Interstate 20. Older facility but clean. Sites are on the smaller side but again, OK for overnight. Restrooms and showers were clean. WIFI and cable TV worked very well. Good area for walking dogs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great place for an overnight and is easy to get to and back onto the interstate. The attendant was very pleasant and helpful. Sites are tight, but easy to get in and out. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park, nice staff, full hookups, pull throughs, lots of highway noise. Best cable TV setup we have ever seen. Each site has a rack with about 20 feet of cable wound on it; very easy to connect. We will go there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Convenient campground with easy on/off freeway access at exit 184 of I-20. The sites are gravel/rock and are very level however some are very close together. Owners live onsite and are very helpful and responsive. They have a good high speed WiFi signal and a great Cable TV lineup. There is no meeting room or pool. The laundry room is open 24/7 and is very clean with new machines. The restrooms are clean and have coded locks on them so are quite secure. This park has considerable road noise from I-20 but we dealt with it by using the Air Conditioner. We feel its the best in the area and would use it again if in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We were here only overnight. We had phoned ahead to make sure they had space. Since we would be arriving after the office closed, I was told to call back when we got close and they would meet us. She was in the office already so we would not have to wait. Very accommodating. If we were in the area, we would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is OK for a stop-over. It is just off the freeway, has grass/gravel sites, and had what appeared to be several sites with transient populations. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate reflects the Escapee discount. The park is right off of the interstate, but road noise was tolerable. The lady running the office was very friendly and escorted us to our site and explained the hookups. The sites are grass/gravel and very close together - our step hit the power pedestal of the spot next door. The WiFi and cable are free and work well. Overall, a good overnight, but very cramped. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The staff member was friendly/courteous when checking in and directed us to site and pointed out hookups and new dog run. Good WiFi and cable. I-40 nearby but noise was tolerable. No sign for exit so we had to go back from next exit. We would stay here again if in area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice for a one night stop or more. We normally don't make reservations here but this year we did call first. We got the last 3 sites. Each year they get more customers and even though a lot of people use them for a one night stop, they are running out of space. The owners go out of there way to help you get into your site and make sure 5th wheels are not put in sites with trees with low limbs. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Ideal park for the overnighter. Easy in - easy out. Friendly staff helps get you to your site. I'm glad we made a reservation early in the day; the place was packed. Cable and internet service was satisfactory. If there were other amenities, we didn't use them. However, as with many parks, the dog walk area was full of stickers. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Visited park & found it to be big rig friendly. Staff was very friendly & helpful. All roads & sites were gravel which were a little dusty. Sites were so narrow that we were within 5' of our neighbors on each side. Utilities were modern & well placed. Free wifi was usable and the cable was very good. Next to interstate, but noise was not a factor. Most of park is utilized by full timers. Park is good value considering location and we would return for an overnighter. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a nice surprise to find the owners so helpful and eager to please. They really did walk us to our site, explained how things worked and where everything was. Free Wifi that was very fast, great cable TV with plenty of stations. It is very close to the I-20 highway, but the road noise was very tolerable. There is no pool, so if you're really in need, you have to go somewhere else. I would return here the next time we are driving through. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The weekly rate was $75.00 (75/7=11). We gave this park an overall rating of 9 because the RV Park was clean, secured, and all amenities that were advertised worked. Our Verizon internet card did not work in Big Spring, TX, so we asked if the Wi-Fi actually worked or just sometimes worked. Management assured we would have NO problems. Wi-fi worked GREAT! The cable channel line-up was incredible! The place was clean! And the management was extremely nice! The reason for not getting a rating of 10 was because of location. Big Spring is an oil producing town, but they are not reaping the rewards of high oil prices. Approximately 50% of the businesses were closed. The town actually looked like it was on the economic down cycle. On a great note, we went to Big Spring Mall and bought several designer clothing for 20% of retail price of what we would have paid in any other town that was in an economic up cycle. This is NOT a destination area of Texas but this RV Park is a GREAT place to rest for a few days! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice little park for the area, easy in and out. Owners have really turned the park around from the last time we were there a few years ago. Very friendly and helpful. Only down side are the grass burrs, they are everywhere in this part of the country. The management are constantly trying to correct this daily. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park for overnight stop. Gravel roads. Our gravel site was one of the most level and quickest to setup on our current trip (6,000 miles since we left Baton Rouge on March 21st). Grassy patio with bench seat. Easy off and on the Interstate, but with little road noise. Friendly management! We would stay here again. Price paid is Escapees price! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Owners have been the most helpful and attentive that we have encountered in any park. bar none. As mentioned by other reviewers, this is not the prettiest campground, but nicely laid out and extremely well run. Rate reflects good sam discount. Extensive line-up of cable channels and wi-fi that is free and WORKED!. Right on the I-20 service road so you will have some road noise, but we did not find it bothersome and it certainly did not keep us awake. Site was gravel surrounded by grass and was level with easy pull-thru access. These are the first campground showers that my husband found clean enough to use. They were well appointed and spotless. The only reason that I did not give it a 10 was the lack of pool and rec. facilities, but for an overnight stay was perfect. I would certainly recommend to others and would stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
After over 30 years of Rv'ing, I have had customer service and customer commitment defined for me: It is this campground. In all my years, I have never run across such incredibly customer oriented people. It starts with a warm greeting when you arrive, followed by a personal escort to your site. Then you find out that, despite several incoming and outgoing faxes, they hesitate to charge you because they consider that customer service, and on and on and on. These folks truly are committed to their customers. The campground, although not beautiful or great, is nicely laid out, has deep spaces, has excellent restroom facilities, and so forth. No swimming pools or kiddie entertainment but just down to earth good value and good service right down to ample hooks in the shower areas (for the poster who recently said they didn't have these.) This may not be the nicest campground we have ever visited, but it is the best. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a GREAT park for an overnight stop. The owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful. They have only been here about 1 1/2 years - are working on upgrading park. Some road noise, but not bad. Nice pull throughs that accommodate coach and toad. Will definitely stay here again when going through West Texas. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy on/off I-20. We had a pull-thru gravel site that could accommodate our 38’ motorhome with tow. Sites are narrow and fairly level. Very friendly hosts, showed us to our site and made sure that we had everything we needed. When the host noticed a branch close to our motorhome, no time was wasted in cutting it down. This is an older park with newer owners who appear to be working hard at keeping it clean and fixing it up. It isn’t a fancy park, but is a good overnight or short stay park. Wi-Fi is included in the price and worked well. Cable TV is free and they even provide the cable for hook-up. This is a Good Sam Park. There is some Interstate noise, but tolerable unless you are a really light sleeper. We would definitely stay again when passing through. We camped here in a Motorhome.
For a park that does not have a pool or other entertainment amenities it is very nice. You are directed to your site and get all the help you could want. The sites are long for those that wish to pull in with the tow attached. The overnight or weekly sites are narrow and there are no hooks in the showers. The proximity to I20 is good for getting in and out but there is the downside of high way noise. We stayed a week to see some things in town and get caught up on house and book work. The WiFi worked very well. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have used this park several times as a one night stop over. It is handy to I-10 and easy to get in and out of. It is close to I-10 so noise road noise may be a factor but we slept with the windows closed and the air conditioner on. Staff is friendly and escort you to your site. They even furnish the cable for the cable tv. We camped here in a Motorhome.
