This campground was very easy to find from the instructions provided. The attendant working the desk was pleasant and had an info packet already compiled with directions to our camp spot. The campground itself was nicely arranged with quite a few spots with larger trees. There are multiple dog walk's, a reasonable clubhouse with some activities lined-up, and a good number of pull-through slots. While the campground itself is on a bit of a grade, the camp spots themselves were all fairly level. The campground also had very good views of the sunset over the lake. Overall: clean, quiet, moderately picturesque and reasonably priced. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice establishment. Everything is very clean and organized. Great pool, clean restrooms, and courteous staff. We will definitely visit again. The only problem encountered was occasional sewer smell in our campsite. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice pool, however poor lakefront sites. Nice staff. Big sites, but it didnt have a great feel to it. I'd probably try a state park next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed for for two weeks in April. Very nice, quiet park. Contrary to a previous review, we were invited to use any of the facilities at the lodge, which is located next to the RV loop. These included pool, restaurant, live music performances and a cowboy poetry night. Cell service is very iffy here. The lodge has a wireless network signal, but we could not connect to the Internet from there, and nobody seemed to know how to troubleshoot. When we were there, the park store and kayak rental concession were closed. We did bring an inflatable kayak which we paddled around the lake in. The lake is very low right now, and the Vanishing River cruise (which we did not take) does not travel its traditional route up to the northern part of the lake due to navigation issues. Instead, it visits other sites on the lake. There are many things to do in the surrounding area, but the campground itself is at the end of a 15 mile road, which in turn is 3 miles from the nearest town, so dashing down to the grocery store is close to a 4 mile trip out and back. Overall, we loved this place and would definitely go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was very quiet and beautiful. There are lots of trails to walk or bike through. We took the Vanishing River Cruise but did not see any bald eagles. The lake levels were down about 15 feet due to a drought; so, there were places along the hiking trails that didn't have water that should have. Overall, we really enjoyed this spot. We would definitely stay here again. For reservations call: (512) 715-0290 We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Until this year, we would rate this park a 9 or a 10. THIS YEAR, LCRA has split the park up to different concessionaires, with the lodge and adjacent RV park being run by different companies. You no longer have access to the lodge facilities - this includes the pool. After 5 years of coming to this park, we won't be back again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We came here for a few nights and so far have stayed 3 months. There is a railroad directly beside campground but at least they do not blow horns. There is a four lane highway on other side but not terribly busy. We came here because in a golf magazine saying golf across street but it is actually 2.5 miles away. It is a very busy golf course. Most of the sites are occupied by construction workers that go to work around 5:30 a.m. They have no concern for other campers and slam doors and rev up motors. Then when they have finally left city park workers come to the city shed and of course they all start up chain saws, tractors, etc. On the plus side the sites are angled and we had an end site. Also, when you stay here you get full access to the health club next door which has 2 swimming pools and about any health club machine or activity you could imagine. There is a large area to walk in that is in the city park of which this park is part of. We had tornado warnings a few times and they have no provision for any place for campers to go. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground part of very new and well equipped recreation complex operated by city of Burnet. Camping fee gives full access to all recreational facilities including two indoor pools, walking track, exercise room and various sports facilities. They have weekly ($140) and monthly ($300) rates. Golf is very close by at a wonderful municipal course. Camping area was neat and clean. A laundry facility on campground was nearly ready to open. Phone # 512-756-6180 We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a typical Texas State Park...very nice! I would say that the only drawback is that it is one of the most confusing layouts I've ever experienced. Most of the time, it doesn't take me long to figure out where I am going, but this campground had many winding roads that lead you where you don't want to go. The lake is small but beautiful and the wildlife is plentiful. Really nice hikes of various difficulties. We visited on what is usually an off season time and the park seemed quite full. This had pretty much everything I could want. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the best of the Texas State Parks. The lake is beautiful and at a constant level, so it's always full despite the drought. Boat rentals are available, and there's a small store in the park. Both have fairly reasonable prices. Sites are level and clean. A great deal of activity is visible from both the park employees and camp hosts. When we were here the park was completely full. A couple of caveats: the park has many loops and roads, which can be confusing, especially at night. The route to the exit is not well marked, so be sure you keep a park map in your vehicle. The daily fee for a water & electric site is $20, but there is also a daily fee of $5 per adult and, if you bring more rolling stock than a trailer and tow vehicle, there's a $6 daily fee for each extra vehicle. We enjoyed our stay and will come back some day. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our favorite Texas State Park! It’s pretty easy to get a lake front spot and just a beautiful setting. Several of the restrooms and showers have been remodeled for more security and privacy. However, the facilities have no AC and they have very poor ventilation. Walking into the individual shower rooms is like walking into a sauna. We were there over the 4th of July when the park was very full. It looked like the restrooms were cleaned daily. You can rent canoes and kayaks for a reasonable price at the camp store. Devil's Watering Hole is a must see! We will go back here every year! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
