This is a fairly nice park but they have several problems. They state they have Wi-Fi, but it didn't work about half the time we were here. There was virtually no grass at any of the sites, but an ABUNDANCE of cockleburrs. Our rig is covered in them and our poor dogs too! If the burrs weren't enough, the fire ants were deadly!!! They had a party for the park on the 3rd that lasted until 1AM with loud booming music!! We wanted some friends to come have dinner with us on the 4th but the park wanted to charge them $35 just to come in for a couple of hours! We will NOT stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park located on a hill with very level sites. Each site is grass with gravel roads. There are two speed bumps but not so big to be a bother. The crew is excellent and took me around in a golf cart to see available sites. No cable TV but we received about 12 OTA (over the air) channels. Has a nice pool and spa. The restrooms were clean the first day but could have used some attention the second morning. They are on the small side but adequate. A few shade sites but they cost more. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We picked a great time to visit Texas Hill Country. The wildflowers were in full bloom. And this campground is surrounded by them. The views across the lake are outstanding. There were few campers here this time of year. The place was very quiet. The office staff seemed to have limited hours, which is understandable with so few camp sites being used. We will go back again if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Canyon of the Eagles, a LCRA "resort" (expensive for us) run by concessionaires. The resort is nice, with cabins a pretty good restaurant and beautiful views of Lake Buchanan near Burnet TX. There is an RV park just down the hill a short way from the resort. It was OK, but not sure we'll go again. Not allowed to use the pool at the resort (but allowed to spend $$ at the restaurant) and the lake access for swimming was VERY limited, summer in TX near a lake and can't get in??. There was a very nice amateur celestial observatory on the property that was a highlight. As for the RV park itself, spaces were $23 per night PLUS $4/day/person use fee, sites were narrow, not level, views of lake very limited. So, our next trip (from San Antonio) in this direction will be Ink Lake St Park. Been there before, good lake access and views! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for for two weeks in April. Very nice, quiet park. Contrary to a previous review, we were invited to use any of the facilities at the lodge, which is located next to the RV loop. These included pool, restaurant, live music performances and a cowboy poetry night. Cell service is very iffy here. The lodge has a wireless network signal, but we could not connect to the Internet from there, and nobody seemed to know how to troubleshoot. When we were there, the park store and kayak rental concession were closed. We did bring an inflatable kayak which we paddled around the lake in. The lake is very low right now, and the Vanishing River cruise (which we did not take) does not travel its traditional route up to the northern part of the lake due to navigation issues. Instead, it visits other sites on the lake. There are many things to do in the surrounding area, but the campground itself is at the end of a 15 mile road, which in turn is 3 miles from the nearest town, so dashing down to the grocery store is close to a 4 mile trip out and back. Overall, we loved this place and would definitely go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was very quiet and beautiful. There are lots of trails to walk or bike through. We took the Vanishing River Cruise but did not see any bald eagles. The lake levels were down about 15 feet due to a drought; so, there were places along the hiking trails that didn't have water that should have. Overall, we really enjoyed this spot. We would definitely stay here again. For reservations call: (512) 715-0290 We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

On the south end of town, right next to large recreation/pool center, not much shade (none). Right on highway, but still relatively quiet. Check in at rec. center by teens working for the summer and more interested in socializing with each other, so nothing explained/introduced. Never could get the cable TV hooked up, but everything else worked well. Good level, wide spaces and clean. Several good restaurants in the area (Maxican, Storms, Giovani's). We'd stop here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We came here for a few nights and so far have stayed 3 months. There is a railroad directly beside campground but at least they do not blow horns. There is a four lane highway on other side but not terribly busy. We came here because in a golf magazine saying golf across street but it is actually 2.5 miles away. It is a very busy golf course. Most of the sites are occupied by construction workers that go to work around 5:30 a.m. They have no concern for other campers and slam doors and rev up motors. Then when they have finally left city park workers come to the city shed and of course they all start up chain saws, tractors, etc. On the plus side the sites are angled and we had an end site. Also, when you stay here you get full access to the health club next door which has 2 swimming pools and about any health club machine or activity you could imagine. There is a large area to walk in that is in the city park of which this park is part of. We had tornado warnings a few times and they have no provision for any place for campers to go. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground part of very new and well equipped recreation complex operated by city of Burnet. Camping fee gives full access to all recreational facilities including two indoor pools, walking track, exercise room and various sports facilities. They have weekly ($140) and monthly ($300) rates. Golf is very close by at a wonderful municipal course. Camping area was neat and clean. A laundry facility on campground was nearly ready to open. Phone # 512-756-6180 We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stay here several times a year. It's always great. Texas now has a new state reservation system. If you want in the 200# sites (by Devil's Waterhole) you MUST reserve a 50 amp site -- whether you need it or not for your RV/Pop Up. The poles have both 50/30amp but if you reserve for 30amp you will NOT be on the east side of the park. Also Internet is extremely unreliable. I was never able to get a connection either at the park store or the office. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an incredible park on a beautiful lake. The showers and bathrooms were reasonably clean, though not perfect. It did not seem that they were cleaned daily. The sites vary greatly in terms of size and amenities. Our only complaint is that on the weekends, the park gets very full and sometimes loud. It is definitely a family oriented park, and therefore on the weekends it is full with kids and pets etc. We would stay again. We were here 10 days. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is another fantastic Texas State Park. Well run, clean and has friendly staff and campers. The lake is beautiful and peaceful with some wildlife roaming around. We had a great lakeside site, and it is close to Seminole Cavern State Park so we did the cavern tour too. It's a nice park to just go out and walk around. Our Verizon air card worked great, but neither our Verizon or Sprint cell phones worked here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
