Much like the many great 1000 Trails preserves of yesteryear . . . fairly simple, well groomed, not TOO many leased sites (like so many other 1000 Trails parks are now!). Seems to be pretty good member-generated gatherings, assisted by a good park manager. Other staff members are good, too. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I'm a Thousand Trails member, this park is very nice with large sites. It is a typical thousand trails park. My only complaint is as a member I don't feel I should have to pay extra for a premium site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The roads are really bad. The access road of gravel and sand creates terrible dust that gets into every crack and covers the towed vehicle. Inside the park there are potholes everywhere. However, once into the park, the sites are pretty and level. This is a membership park that has some sites open to the public. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed 3 days at this TT park, which has major potential. Like many parks in the TT network, it is a little 'tired' looking. The main road through the preserve needs major repair, the preserve includes so much land that keeping it all mowed is a challenge. The Wi-Fi is in the clubhouse only, and is weak. And the buildings could use a facelift. That said, the preserve is huge, the sites are separated into river sites, lower sites, and hill sites. Sites are gravel, level, and wide. Hookups worked well. There are large trees that provide shade on many of the sites. Over air and satellite service is available from the sites on the hill. The pool just opened and was clean. There is a miniature golf putting area and a boat dock. Numerous deer roamed the preserve daily. This is one of our favorite campgrounds in the TT network due to the open, spacious feel of the preserve. The $3 per day charge was for 50 amp service with a TT membership. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Gravel roads in poor condition, sites are gravel. The grass was really high when we were there and there were ant mounds everywhere. (they did invade our trailer) The staff was nice. They park looks like it is having some renovations in the works. It could be a great park when (if) those are done. It was very quiet and dark at night. They river was really low and not flowing in areas. (yuck) Overall... an OK park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

First time stay at a Thousand Trails Preserve. The Staff was fantastic, informative, helpful; could not have been any better. The grounds were extremely clean and well maintained. Camp sites are very large, most of which offer gravel pads, a few offer concrete partical pads and padio. No cable service offered at the sites, matter of fact the lower sites don't receive any TV antenna broadcast reception (but then that ain't all bad) WiFi available in the Activity Center which also has a couple of TVs, pool table, ping pong, table activities and great cold A/C. Rest Rooms spotless, pool area well maintaned. Preserve also offers a few different out door court games and putt putt golf. Roads in good condition, some gravel some paved, some a combination of the two. TT Preserve does have a private boat ramp to the river. The preserve is located near town which offers a few great restaurants...great food, big helpings, reasonable prices for those times you don't feel like cooking. A word of advise, in the summer months it is HOT!! But so is the rest of Texas. Price shown is for a Thousand Trails membership offer of $0 plus $3 per night for 50 amp service. This is a nice older Thousand Trails park. They have upgraded quite a few sites with 50 AMP, concrete patios and well packed gravel for the parking pad. We were able to find a site that allowed us to use our satellite and still have some shade. There were deer wandering the park and lots of areas in which to walk the dog and get some exercise. We did not use the pool or spa but they were available. The park is pretty convenient to restaurants, which is not always the case with Thousand Trails parks. We enjoyed the park and would stay here again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a relatively small Thousand Trails park, but is very nice. Management obviously has put considerable money into maintenance and painting since our last visit a few months ago. The grounds are well-maintained, and the showers are very clean. Sites are large and relatively well-separated, especially in the loop nearest the river. Although there is no local Wi-Fi, Verizon connectivity is very good. The price noted is for non-members, who are now welcome at all Thousand Trails parks on a space-available basis. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great Campground! We had a river front site, full hook up with 30 amp. Deer herd was fun to watch. Our ATT internet card didn't work, but there's Wi-Fi in the activity center. We will definitely stay here again! As this is one of our membership parks we did not pay for our site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A "membership park" that lives up to the standard expected of 1000 Trails preserves. There is a resident herd of deer that roam freely throughout the park. Well worth the 8 mile drive from I-10. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I enjoyed this park because it was in the country, however you could still hear the train in the distance. The sites were big enough for big rigs and slides. The preserve was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Had a great Miniature Golf Course. Verizon Wireless worked well. We were able to get satellite reception. The surrounding towns had many tourist activities and sights to see. I would return, and recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is in a great location. The only thing i can say bad about it is does not have enough sewer sites. If you want to stay two or three weeks they have a system of getting sewer sites as they come available. We stayed five days and it was great. Had a herd of deer pass through the park in morning and night. For me i liked the non sewer sites better they were not as close together and were easier to get into. We are Thousand Trail members so it did not cost us anything to camp here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a relaxed, member only, park with large pecan trees and many deer roaming. On this stay the hot tub and pool were closed but most other facilities were open. A new manager is in place but he is not very friendly, rarely speaks to members or guests. The maintenance staff do a great job and the housekeeping is great with clean bathrooms and buildings. We would recommend this park to all who can use it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My wife and I picked up trailer in - Austin and stopped in Columbus for first night out -real newbies. Camp staff knew this and came by several time during arrival and departure to be sure we were not having problems. Quiet park and very enjoyable first experience to world of RVing. We would stay here again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Easy on/off from I-10. Nice big sites both long and wide. Sites have grass with gravel parking. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We found this to be a great park to spend the night. Yes, there were trains, but we are used to trains so they didn't really bother us. We liked the wide, pull through spaces with tables. Nice park to walk one's dogs in. There is even a small enclosed dog run. Park is located about five miles from a town in either direction along the I-10. You can find just about anything you need in Columbus. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Have stayed here at least 10 times. Is really good. There are very few parks on I-10 between Houston and San Antonio that are true RV Parks as opposed to campgrounds, so cannot be too picky. This is flat, high, and dry and just 50' off of the exit. It is also 1/2 of the way between Houston and San Antonio or 90 minutes to each. Great place to stop to miss morning traffic next day or before evening traffic. Great new owner who is putting a lot into park. Our 45' bus was fine here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Just off the 1-10 freeway, so handy for a one night stop over. Level pull throughs, Noise from the freeway, and a train runs along the back of the CG. Only one restroom, seemed a little odd to me. We ate in town, " Schobels Restaurant". would not eat there again. Wi-Fi fair. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great long level sites for all rigs. Asphalt roads leading through out the park to rock sites, good for taking a stroll or riding a bike around park. Owners/staff all very helpful and fun to chat with. Yes, there are trains, but we just turned a fan on and that solved that problem. We did not use the bathroom, prefer to use my own RV. Nice little store with propane available and great BlueBell ice cream! Enjoyed a nice wooden swing tied to a big tree overlooking a pasture for relaxation and getting some fresh air. Recommend it. What a people and dog friendly park this is. Easy access to sites on paved roads. All sites are big rig ready. Used our satellite TV and propane is available onsite. Yes there are trains, but there's also a big pasture with cows to watch from a homemade swing hanging from a big tree. The owners live onsite and are very hands on with all aspects of the park. Would definitely recommend to friends. We will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Between Interstate 10 and railroad - would recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Grave narrow sites but long enough to handle the biggest of rigs. Very friendly staff. Used it as an overnight stop and for that purpose it was fine. There are several other RV sites in the area that might be worth checking out. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Conveniently located to I-10. You can hear the freeway and a train go by from time to time but the noise is not enough to disturb your sleep. Park is clean. Sites are level, very large, but are not paved. Staff is friendly. Unlike the Kerville, Texas KOA..the hook-ups are where you can easily access and actually use them. We would definitely stay at this park again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice clean & shady campground to stay in and we would stay again. Park is located next to train tracks and could be bothersome if you are a light sleeper. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are level and large enough for 40ft rv & trailer. We were tired when we pulled in and the person showing us where the site was argued about how to drive the rv so as to avoid hitting the fire rings. They are well placed and not in the way. We have been full-timing on the road for years, and did not want the help. The water is bad. It tastes as if there may be sulfur in it. We would stay here again,but only after trying another park first. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The access to this park is very convenient. It is right off I-10 a few miles west of Columbus. You probably won't need a reservation to stay here as it is not particularly crowded. A very friendly staff. We were shown to our pull through site conveniently located for easy in & out for our overnight stay. The host assisted in positioning our rig on the site. Clean restroom & shower, but is a single unisex edition. Gravel site required no leveling. Now for the trains. They started at around eleven p.m. and seemed to come through every hour. From reading other reviews this may be more frequent than normal. There is a crossing requiring them to blow their whistle nearby, which is impossible to drown out with an air conditioner fan. I would recommend this place as a friendly and convenient place to stop, but you may lose some sleep. I can't say we won't stay here again, but we may look for other alternatives when passing through the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great in/out stopping place for big rigs on Interstate 10.Super friendly people with very clean facilities.There are trains close. Owners live on site and very accommodating. Small country store and propane. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great stop over. Easy to get to. The park is very clean. The train whistle! The track is behind the park, horn sounds at 4, 5, 6 am. It is a great alarm clock. You will not oversleep here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground has now changed it's name to Columbus KOA. We turned off just to check it out and were glad we did. It's very neat and clean. Also the sites are long pull through sites and you won't need to unhook. The Wi-Fi works good and the owners are very accommodating. We definitely recommend this park for a stopover or if you have business along I-10. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Good for only a one or two night stop. Trains several times a night except, for the weekends, and then there are less. WiFi not all that good at present time: there are days I couldn't use it at all. The owners are trying to fix things up: pool, putt putt golf, new internet provider in the plans. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very friendly, clean park. Close to freeway and train tracks, so there is some noise. Very good for stopovers. Exit off freeway has a rough turn on it, so be careful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice looking campground, but beware. The campground is squeezed between the interstate and railroad tracks, with a crossing about 100 yards away. Besides the constant noise, be prepared to be startled by very loud train whistles day and night. Even though their advertisements say recreation hall, restrooms, and showers, there is only one large bathroom with a shower and toilet in the same room, shared by men and women. This has turned out to be very inconvenient, to say the least, for those of us who are not completely self contained and do not want to share a facility. The recreation hall, advertised with restrooms, is only open for large parties as it is not worth turning on the AC for just one or two people, the managers say. They also do not spray their oak trees, so those who have a shaded site here in April are fighting a battle with hundreds of worms falling on the camper and vehicle, as well as the droppings from same. Don't try and get anything from the office, as it's rarely open. Needless to say, this is our first and last stay here. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Stopped overnight. Passport America campground. Nice park but since it is right next to I-10, somewhat noisy - especially with nearby train track. Good for stopping while traveling. We camped here in a Motorhome.

They don't tell you about the line of trees that cover the RR tracks and that the trains run every 45 minutes round the clock. The wi-fi is down more than it is up. Very nice people that run the campground. This is a good place to stop just for an overnight visit. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground well off the Interstate. Call ahead if checking in after hours as manager is not near the office. Great Mexican restaurant withing walking distance across the street. Only downside to this campground is the many permanent residents who begin leaving for work at 5:30 AM. Lots of pick-up truck noise and doors slamming. Wi-Fi worked fine as did the cable TV. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It appears this campground has tried to shoe horn in as many RVs as possible, and has two RVs connecting to the same power panels. We were on a 50A breaker and the trailer next to us was on the 30A breaker. To much power draw and we lost one leg of our service. After some effort, we were moved to another site. The first site was mostly gravel but the second site was rutted dirt. The campground is full of pipeline crew folks and many of them tend to leave early for work which is not conducive to us old folks sleeping in. We will boon dock at a truck stop rather than stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good park for short stay. Many sites occupied by "monthly" campers. Very good customer service, clean, level and good pull through sites for us. Do be aware of rooster crowing at nearby yard however at 5 AM! We would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a pleasant surprise.We arrived after dark and the staff set us up immediately. It is a clean and good place. It seems like an interesting small town and if we were in the area we would spend a day enjoying it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There are mostly full-timers in the park and only a limited number of sites available for overnight guests. We were parked in a site littered with numerous cigarette butts and trash. We tracked in a lot of dirt and debris into our trailer as the sites are just dirt. The restrooms were very clean, but a little heat would have been very welcome. It is easy access on and off I-10. It is a little noisy, but not to objectionable. The actual cost was $23.50 and reflects a Good Sam discount. At 5:45 AM, one of the residents near us started his diesel pickup truck and let it idle for 5 minutes, followed by the slamming of doors. From then until 6:30 AM it was a constant stream of people leaving for work. TV cable was excellent, great Wi-Fi and the sites were fairly level. As others reported, there was no one in the office. We found the manager (?) doing laundry and he then came to check us in. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

WOW: never seen restrooms and showers so clean. The bathrooms were very nicely decorated and always clean! The campground manager was very nice. Lots of ground to walk a pet. Nice small wooded area by a stream. We saw about 30 deer one day. Very convenient location. Many places to eat in Columbus. Their Internet was very good and easy to hook up to. TV cable was excellent. Everyone was friendly. Sites are fairly level. Although the website says no railroad tracks, there is a railroad track up a ways and you can hear the horn twice a day but not enough to interfere with sleeping. They do have a library, but we found it difficult to find someone in the office to use the library. They do not man the office, only when someone pulls in. This is a disadvantage. The only real big problem we found is that when it rains it is very muddy. They need to add plenty more gravel. We stayed here a week and would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I was with a group for a weekend rally. The staff was terrific. My heat would not come on in my rig so I called the office asking if they had someone to help me figure it out. Within half a hour I had help and it was fixed. Since it was getting cold I couldn't have been happier. We were allowed full use of the meeting room which was very clean. The bathrooms were decorated in a very cute fashion: more than any other camp restroom I've seen. The Wi-Fi was good and strong as was the cable TV. I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wonderful office personnel. A great stop after driving through Houston on I-10. Site sufficient size, with fire pit and picnic table under a tree. Many full-timers living there. Bathrooms are extremely well-kept and attractive. Stayed 1 night because on a schedule, but would happily have stayed longer. Lots to see in the area (painted churches). Nice little, well-kept campground. Lots of grassy area for tents (no hookups). Sites are easy, level pull-throughs with picnic table and tree. I can see where the one poster felt the sites were too close together because if they used every site, your near-side slide would probably be darn close to your neighbor's awning but, at least while we were here, they parked campers at every other site which was very nice. Several permanents here; several seasonals; and several campers belonging to men working over towards Houston. No problem with electricity; cable TV is great; and they have 5 Wi-Fi sites to choose from. Close to shopping (HEB, small Wal-mart) and a great seafood restaurant: Nancy's Seafood Grill. Don't miss that! We'll stay here again if we're in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park was small and near the highway, so you hear highway noise, but it's still an acceptable place to stay for a weekend (I've seen worse!). Their power and cable work well so we were happy. The scenery at the park, on the other hand, left much to be desired. But we traveled around to make up for it. The park hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Pool was small but and not open when we visited in May. They have a nice patio with rocking chairs and swings around their club house. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The spot I was in was so narrow that the neighbor's slide was so close to my slide, you could hear their TV. There was electrical problems on the pad. The 30 amp wiring was sticking up in the air. This place was a shambles. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice place but the owners were somewhat rude. It was one of my first RV park experiences and was concerned this would be the way they all were. Have been comfortably surprised that this is the exception and not the rule. It seems those who are most concerned with the aesthetic value of their parks, forget that if you treat people with as much importance, they'll forgive a bit of the aesthetic shortcomings. But treat them poorly and they remember for a very long time! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I really liked this park. Restroom is clean AND cute, owner very nice and had little bandanas for my dogs, and a package of microwave popcorn for me. Plenty of dog-walking area. These are grass sites and it was raining so things were a bit muddy, but all together a nice experience. This campground is not marked on the highway signs. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here overnight. Easy on and off freeway, cute little campsite. Owner friendly. Wifi did not work, but were informed that it was $2 if it did work. Sites were level. Not a bad place to stay for more than one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There is an extra charge for WiFi and 50 amps. You must pay by cash or check to receive a discount on the daily rate. Their website is representitive of the park. The park is less than a mile from Walmart, fast food, and a grocery store. A very suitable park for an overnight stop on interstate 10 in eastern Texas. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I stay here 5 times a year, and have never had any problems. If you stay Sat. nite, go and see the Columbus Opry C&W music show in town. Rest Rooms & Showers are clean, and I can always find a spot for my pop-up. We camped here in a camper.
