Not very busy. Roomy sites. Campground roads asphalt/gravel. Sites are gravel, mostly level, no picnic tables. Wi-Fi is fast and free! Plan on wind, after all it's west Texas. Deer and Havalina's in campground. Host parked us. Nice management/workers. Easy in/easy out as we are in a 40' coach pulling a 17' trailer. Small laundry. I would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This rate includes the Good Sam Club discount of 10 per cent for seven nights. While the park managers (Pat and Dan) do their utmost to make you feel welcome, this park really, really needs some TLC, or some focused attention from the owners. The site we were in (S-12) was very wide, which was excellent, but extremely uneven due to the shale that one must park on. It makes it a real challenge to ensure that your rig is level. There were lots of empty sites while we were there. Sites are poorly marked and laid out, which makes it difficult to try and figure out where one should drive, or walk. Good point - breakfast is served on Sunday and Wednesday mornings in the Rec Hall, and was a real highlight of staying at this park. For $4, it was all you could eat. Cable TV and free WiFi were good, for the most part. The men's restroom could have used an elbow-grease cleaning the whole time we were there, which it never received. Two of the fluorescent light fixtures in the men's room were not working properly the entire time we were there, and although the managers were made aware, the lights weren't repaired or replaced by the time we departed. It made taking a shower at night an interesting challenge. Del Rio itself is only minutes away from Acuna, Mexico, so we went across a couple of times to do some shopping. We, probably, would not stay at American Campground and RV Park again. There are better choices in Del Rio, most of which are closer to the city itself. Maybe consider one of them if you're going to be in this area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A nice park well staffed with helpful people. It has wide spots for big rigs; clean baths and laundry. It is safe and quiet at night. They have fun crafts. There is good food at club house (especially the chili). We will stay next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

New managers are working had to bring this place up to minimum standards. WiFi worked fine. Cable television was "snowy". Site was reasonably level, but just grass and gravel. Facilities were very clean. When these managers get some time put in, this will be a great place. Right now it leaves some to be desired, but is better than most in the area. Older park that could use some more maintenance and upgrading. Nice level grass sites, decent hook up's and roads are fine. Staff seemed OK. Convenient location. Appears to cater to the "Winter Texan" crowd. I could see myself spending the winter at this park (if I didn't already live in Texas). Would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an old park that needs renovation, but with friendly people and excellent service. The sites are grassy and fairly level. They do have free WiFi and are quite close to the lake. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our first stay at Broke Mill and we were pleasantly surprised. Having stayed at other parks in Del Rio, we found this one to be more than expected. The park is located just west of town and is convenient to shopping and recreation. Sites are quite level, and adequate for just about any size RV. Hook ups are convenient. Everything worked as it should. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Park was spotless and well maintained. This is a new park, so don’t expect much in the way of trees. The owners have planted a number of trees and shrubs, but considering that it is South Texas, it will take some time for them to mature. There is some road noise from Highway 90, but it is not overpowering, and it tapers off during the night. We did not find it objectionable. We will definitely camp here again. Broke Mill RV Park was very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly. I'd definitely stay again. There was a lot of highway noise and the pool wasn't shallow enough for small kids. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice quiet place, north of town. Spaces are all roomy and mostly level. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Good satellite access at every space. It's close to Amistad lake and town. We enjoyed the Wednesday breakfast (donation) and they have a Sunday potluck. Facilities are all new and very clean and functional. Viewing the other RV parks in area, we would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A great NEW RV Park. The owner has put a lot of thought into this park. He and his crew are striving to do things right. Being that is a new park (2nd year), the trees are not yet grown to offer shade, but are growing. The facilities are as good as they come. The owners are planning to keep adding and improving the park. We will be back and highly recommend it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

RV Park Reviews comes through again. Never stayed in Del Rio before and being a resort town there are lots of choices. This is a new park and got excellent ratings so we decided to give it a try. It is on the left side of highway 90 if you approach from the west. Use the GPS coordinates listed on their Web site because the highway address will take you about a mile past the park. They have a small sign but you can see the park from the highway. It is a new park with level pull through sites and great facilities. We would stay here again. If you head west to Alpine there is a new Exxon gas station just before you cross the bridge. It is RV friendly and has great prices. Make sure you leave town with a full tank as there are no gas stations till Marathon. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Probably one of the best RV Park in Texas. We liked it so well, we stayed another day. I inadvertently gave an erroneous review of Buzzard Roost yesterday. I meant to review this RV park. We did go to Buzzard Roost but the tree limbs prevented us from staying there. We saw this place on the way and returned to Broken Mill. This is one place that I would return to yearly. Not only is it a Class A RV park, the manager/owner is as nice as they come. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We liked this park so much we stayed longer. We like to work out: the fitness room has very good equipment, and the back acreage has a nice dirt running loop. The showers have many hooks near the stall and a preset temperature on the faucet that one can vary but it was easy to just turn on for a good warm shower. As in other posts, the physical lay out was good, Wi-Fi was powerful, and the owner was very friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at Broke Mill for 3 nights while seeing the sites in the Del Rio area. This is a new park which has all of the amenities. I would rate this a 9.5 with the only minus being crushed stone pads instead of concrete. The sites were level, and spacious with enough room for our 42 ft. motorhome and toad. The crushed stone extended so that we had a patio. Dog walking was great as they have a mile + where you can walk your dogs off leash. The Wi-Fi signal was strong and the cable was good. The laundry had 5 washers and dryers with the cost of $1.25. The washers were large and the propane dryers dried well. The laundry room was adjacent to an area with a TV, computer, book exchange and small kitchen area. Next door was a well stocked fitness room with treadmill, elliptical, bow flex, stationary bike, free weights with bench and something else that we didn't use. The restrooms were clean,handicapped accessible as were the showers. We were lucky enough to be there when the owner and his band rehearsed. The large event room complete with stage provided us an evening with excellent free entertainment. Staff also assisted us with finding a great restaurant (Fisherman's) and sightseeing information. This is probably the best thought out and laid out park we have been too. We look forward to staying here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Incredibly well maintained and fully furnished campground. Best restroom/shower facilities we have ever experienced. Close to all stores, restaurants and attractions. Only concern is that there are no picnic tables at any of the sites. You feel like family here. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We came here for some diving at Lake Amistad. The park is new, very clean, and the staff is very friendly. No shade to speak of really; lots of small new trees. Hook ups were all new, WiFi is outstanding very high signal strength. The pool was clean, bathrooms and showers were also clean and much nicer than some I have seen in homes. Site was crushed rock and level. The roads through the park are paved. No real road noise from the nearby highway. The park is located just outside of Del Rio and is only a couple minutes to eateries, shopping, and from Lake Amistad. Big rig friendly, and would highly recommend this park to families and friends. Very nice park with a round pool to keep you cool. The recreation room has plenty of books and magazines in addition to exercise equipment and computers with super fast internet available to use . We camped here in a Motorhome.

Brand new park just a few miles from Amistad. Sites are exceptionally roomy and well thought-out. Owners have obviously done a lot of RV'ing. Wi-Fi works great. Huge facility for rallies, etc. Bath house always clean. Very nice work-out room and pool. Had no trouble parking fifth-wheel and tow vehicle on a nice, level pad with plenty of room to spare. Owner was one of the friendliest, hardest working cowboys you'll ever meet and he should be very proud of what he's done here. Since the park is new, there's virtually no shade yet (shade is rare in this part of Texas, anyway). But landscaping is in place and growing. Top-notch place to stay and we'll definitely be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of the best parks we have ever stayed in. Very spacious with lots of pull through sites. Great monthly rate of $300. Electricity was a little pricey at 17 cents per kilowatt. This campground has a pool, a rec room, a fitness room, a kitchen, and a huge meeting/concert room. Wireless internet was incredible and worked in every area of the park. Very dog friendly with a walking trail in the back. The owner is also working on building a bird watching area. Great place to stay for the night or for an extended period of time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed overnight at this relatively new campground and found it fantastic. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the sites are big and the shrubs are growing. There is plenty of space and a walking track leads off the property. They are just finishing the edging around the lovely pool. I have never seen such clean restrooms and showers as I have at this park - they are wonderful - brand new! The WiFi worked very well. They gave us a discount even though we didn't have a good Sam card - they went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. Thanks Broke Mill we will come back! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Owner was extremely pleasant and helpful: gave me a full hookup site for an excellent rate. Shower room/restroom was immaculate with plenty of hot water (water in the area is hard, however not a fault of the park). One point off for truck noise from nearby hwy 90, but slept like a baby anyway. I recommended this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I can honestly say that I was amazed to find a park like this in Del Rio. (Nothing against Del Rio.) Big spaces, well laid out, with paved roads throughout the park. Located between town and nearby Amistad Reservoir, Broke Mill is in a perfect spot. Nice, clean bathrooms and laundry as well as a pool put this park near the top of the list of places I've stayed. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This RV park was recommended to us by a kind gentleman from Marathon Motel RV Park. We need to thank him. Broke Mill is only six months old and still being developed and refined but is well on its way to being a first class park. The owners and staff are all friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The park is right on SR-90 but there is only a slight sound of traffic. The adjacent property is a great place to exercise your dog off leash. If we ever get back to Del Rio we'll make this park our stop-over spot. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park has new paved roads and large gravel sites. It appears very "sterile" and lacks character. Hopefully this park will "age" quickly and get some of the charm that it deserves. We liked the friendly management. We disliked the very small and unheated pool and we very much disliked the dogs "leftovers" on all grassed areas. Dogs can run freely without a leash on this RV park, but this commits the management so that people don't have to be afraid to walk without the risk of stepping in something - you get the drift. The site is OK for a quick stop-over or a couple of days. Beyond this this park would get really boring very quickly unless you bring your own party/friends. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We would have rated it higher if the pool was heated - that's the only drawback that we could see. The rate is a little high for the area - it may be why there were so many empty spaces. I hope they make it. The monthly rate is reasonable. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Relatively new park just off the highway with big open sites, friendly and helpful staff, and great fishing just down the road. Night traffic very light after dark, beautiful sunsets over Mexico. Very nice place to stop for a few days and enjoy desert country. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here for 3 mo. in 2009. It is a new park. Out buildings are great. Spaces are large & long. When the trees get big enough and the pool is heated we would rate it a 10. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We certainly would camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This new park is excellent. Lots of room between sites, compacted gravel parking area, very open and clear for satellite reception. Great cable TV and wi-fi, both free. Great breakfast [donation requested] by RV volunteers on some mornings. Close to US Highway so there was some road noise until darkness set in. Three miles to Wal-Mart and some shopping. Deer were grazing within site of the park. Lots of room to walk pets. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The very best in Del Rio -- New park that the owner built himself, & it shows pride of ownership with true Texas hospitality -- The spaces are 70' long & 45' wide -- Excellent power, water, cable & WiFi -- We stayed here 3 days in a 42 ft motorhome We camped here in a Motorhome.

This place is brand new, so everything is fresh. Office personnel were very helpful. Sites were level and packed crushed gravel. There was a local dinner theatre performing in the events hall one of the nights we stayed, it was first rate! It would be a really great place for folks coming to fish - the lake is just over the hill from the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is unfortunate that the previous visitor was here before their construction was done. This is a beautiful, 80 space park that is new in all respects. All of the buildings are new, new asphalt streets and gravel sites. There is free TV which we didn't use and free Wi-Fi which worked great. My Verizon Air card worked poorly and my AT&T cell phone worked great. Water pressure was good. We looked at several other parks on our way here and this was by a long shot the very nicest one. When we checked in the owner dealt with us. He was very friendly and helpful. Because of our Good Sam membership he gave us a 15% discount. Total cost for one night was $28. My Garmin GPS showed their address about 1 mile short as we were traveling west bound. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed two nights at this campground and were very pleased. The owner and office personal were very nice and helpful. This is a new campground and the owners are still working on it. It has big spacious lots. There are no mature trees at this time, so if shade is a big concern, you need to consider this. All the facilitates are new and very clean. Not sure if the Wi-Fi works, as I didn't use it, but I know that there is a router connected to the computer. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were assured by the owner on numerous occasions that our site would be ready by late October arrival but when we got there, we found that it didn't have a single site available for occupancy. The few sites that had been worked on were still months away from being usable. This park has been under construction for two years now and still has no sites. The purported "first class" image went down the drain this past spring and it now looks like this will be just another "mom and pop" operation. It obviously doesn't even have a "shoe string" to take care of the problems that come up in opening a park. Too bad! It will end up being a black eye for Del Rio. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Old Campground. Home made trailers there with permanent tenants. Roads and sites need major regrooming. Lots of stray cats and the smell of cat urine everywhere. Owners need to update/upgrade. There are nicer places up the street for less $$$. Wi-Fi here worked intermittent. Will not stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a hard park to review. On hand, the woman who runs and owns the place is a really nice person. She went out of her way to tell us all about fun things to do in the surrounding country side, what was the best and safest way to head into Mexico for a trip to Del Rio's sister city, and even checked on us after we'd set up to make sure everything was all good. There is also a little bar in the RV Park that my wife and I found very convenient and full of a variety of interesting folks to talk to about everything from politics to football to just plain b/sing. However, the park itself is, well, nothing special. The free Wi-Fi they offer only works in the office, so I don't consider it to be Wi-Fi at all. The picnic table we happened to be lucky enough to get was really, really grotty, and I'm talking nasty for a picnic table. The showers and bathrooms wouldn't fly in a prison. Overall, I enjoyed the park because we're not really all that picky about the little things, but if the owners would just do a little to clean things up they could have a real winner here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A Passport Park, thus the low nightly rate. Park host was friendly and helpful. Sites were grass and gravel. Close to Amistad Lake and to town. Spaces were adequate but not very spacious. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We reserved a site with 50 amp service & WiFi access over a week ahead, but when we arrived the owner told us she had given our site to someone else because "they arrived earlier than you did!" Very disappointing. Spaces are very tight for big rigs. WiFi is available in only limited areas of the park. Lots of permanent residents in older RVs. The park was so full that two 5th wheels were parked in one of the access roads! The good news - it's cheap and the little bar next to the showers/laundry really gets going some nights. Wouldn't stay here again however. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at 3 different parks in Del Rio. This one is the closest to town and just north of Wal-Mart. Our group had 4 sites for 3 nights and had no complaints. Wi-Fi is free. I rank this park ahead of Lonesome Dove (2005) and behind Holiday Travel Park (2004). The larger sites were about 55' long. Things can be tight for big rigs. This park sold out every night we were there. Reservations recommended if you want a larger site. Small sites do not have cable TV. One of our group had a giant 5th wheel with 4 slides and had no problem with access or the 50 amp service. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stopped here for an overnighter because its a PPA campground. Narrow roads, untrimmed trees, narrow sites. Owner was very nice, but park is old and needs maintenance. Not big rig friendly. 50a power did not work properly until looked at by maintenance man. Dog poop all over ground! Had to back out of my "pull through" space since narrow road and trees blocked my way. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed at 3 different parks in Del Rio. This one is the closest to town and just north of Wal-Mart. Our group had 3 sites and had no complaints, especially at $14 per night. Wi-Fi is free if it works. It didn't while we were here. I rank this park ahead of Lonesome Dove (2005) and behind Holiday Travel Park (2004). Our cheap sites did not have cable TV and were about 38' deep. They offer larger sites and sites with cable TV. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Park is about 7 miles from town. Stayed here one night. Had friendly owner and knowledgeable about area. Only one shower stall and the bath house is behind a bar which is next door. For the price it was tolerable for one night. We will try Lonesome Dove RV Ranch next time, they are across the road. All other RV parks were way out of town. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Alternate phone (830)734-8251. The choices for me were Hidden Valley and Broke Mill which boiled down to shade, in-town vs. no shade (limestone), in-country. Coming in we saw a nice neighborhood and arrived at the end of Bolner Lane. "hidden" is a good name for the park. Mature trees everywhere. The host tells us that their trailer park has been an RV park for only a little over a year now. She was thrilled that we found them on RVPark Reviews. We are equally thrilled by her reception, by a 100 foot long site completely shaded with a table with table cover, a Webber-type grill, a park bench, paving tile patio, 70 channels of cable TV, 5 bars of Wi-Fi signal plus water, 50 amp electric and sewer. If the site was level I would have rated it a 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I loved the remoteness of the Hidden Valley RV Park. It is really hidden! Feels safe and secure, can walk around in evening and see the stars. Great Weather in Del Rio. Nice campers and the Hostess and Owners liver on grounds and are very helpful. It's like living in a Public Park with so many big trees - lots of shade. Plenty of places to walk and ride a bike. Close to Whitehead Museum and Downtown Library. Level streets. Free Fast and strong Wifii all over park, and free use of a computer in large new Rec Room. Planned to stay overnight, and now I don't know when I will leave. Unlike any RV Campground I have been. Don't never want to go home! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Like being in the country except you're in the city. South side of park is mostly RV's, and the entire place is covered with a canopy of trees. The owners told us our 1st summer that it was the coolest place in Del Rio, they are right. The laundry room is so cozy, it is functional though a work in progress. It has washers, dryers, exercise equipment, a comfortable place to sit and watch TV while you wait for your clothes to dry, and high speed internet with a public computer. Several of the sites have solar lamps and picnic tables. They are in the process of putting up privacy fences. Last summer they had a community garden. Anything you need the owners do their best to help. It is at a dead end so there is no traffic zooming around, it is quiet. Great rates. Very laid back. We prefer this type of park vs the concrete slabs with endless campers stacked next to both sides of your rig. Great place to be to explore the area including going over to Mexico to do shopping and/or mission work. We love it, will be back every chance we get. Campers here are nice people too! It's relaxing to visit while rocking on the laundry's porch. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Large Lots, Open spacious, 2 to 4 Large Trees at every lot. Rec Room with laundry, treadmill, exercise bikes, TV, public computer, wireless Internet. Lots are grass and gravel. End of dead end road, very quiet. Mostly professional and retirees in park. Air Force and law enforcement. Beautiful and peaceful. Pets welcome. Located Downtown Del Rio, about 2 miles from Mexico Port of entry. Nice residential neighborhood. Owners and camp host very nice and helpful. No hassles, easy back-ins in wide lots. Some fenced. Wonderful peaceful area - lots of birds and pecan trees. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A group of us stayed there 2 nights. We had stayed there before. No complaints. The campground attracts a lot of fishermen since it is closest to the lake. But it is about 6 miles from town. The sites here are larger and easier to get into than at most of the other campgrounds at Del Rio. We have stayed at American and Buzzards Roost and the sites at them were hard to get into. There is one campground, 3 Rivers, which does not appear to be listed anywhere. The Chevron (former Exxon) station has 15 to 20 campsites and they catch a lot of overflow. We called several days ahead for reservations and we had to wait an extra day in order to get 3 sites. OTOH, Buzzards Roost was so packed; they couldn’t work us in at all. There is also what appears to be a large new campground being built that could be open as early as summer, 2008. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Tight sites with unpruned trees interfering with slides. Nice management. Person who took me to the site changed our location 3 times. Ok for an overnight, wouldn't spend a week though. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy access from Hwy 90. Free cable & WiFi - excellent WiFi, we were In #4, close to the office. Weekly rate (no discount w/weekly rate) $228 plus $15/wk for 50 amp. Friendly welcome, staff just gearing up for the influx of winter visitors (we were there 11/10 - 11/17), maps, calendars & such not quite ready. The sites are somewhat narrow but because they’re offset, they’re visually appealing. They are mostly level with mature trees on most. This is an older campground - combination asphalt, seal-coat & gravel roads in need of repair, lots of cracking and tripping potential - watch your step!! There are picnic tables at most sites but no entry-way patios, grassy areas in between sites which had been paved - now grown over or crumbled to time. The sites are barely long enough for really big motorhomes and their toads. We had a 37’ 5th wheel and our f-350 dually had to park crosswise in the front. Only 2 dumpsters for the entire location. Great cable (65+ channels) - easily found satellite signal. Activity oriented park - free bi-weekly pancake breakfast, hot dogs BBQ, ice cream social, crafts, ladies coffee, Bible study and pot luck dinner. Close to beautiful Lake Amistad and Mexico. The park accepts mail for campers. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent 7 nights in March. Office was always open and they use a golf cart to guide each arrival to their site. New recreation room just opened. Hot dog cook out one night and an ice cream social on another. Park was always close to being sold out. Trips to Mexico available each day. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Mostly level grass sites with some shade. Older park in need of some maintenance. At our first site the 30amp circuit breaker was hanging loose in the box. All of the service connections are at the back of the sites, so a standard 10' sewer hose may not be enough. We were there three days and never met the owners. The lady that was working the office was friendly but knew little about the town and the area. Office opened at 8am but was always closed when we retuned in the afternoon. It does offer very easy access from Hwy 90. The restrooms and showers were clean. There are gas stations and restaurants close by. It is an adequate site if you are looking for a place to camp and get on about your business without expecting much assistance from the campground. We camped here in a camper.

This is not a quality park. Sites are close together and difficult to enter or exit. Much of the services are shared with the next site. It is basically a permanent trailer park and not a good choice for overnight or short term stays. Several other parks over a lot more. We moved after the second day. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Heading west on my coast to coast trip, I stayed here several days for the bad weather to lift. The staff was very friendly and informative. Park was quiet. Facilities were clean. Other campers were friendly and appears they stay here for months. Close to town, stores, attractions, etc. I had a nice stay here and will come back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I gotta give this little place a 9 because it's just a nice little campground. It's old and the spaces are close together, but the folks there were some of the nicest we met on our trip. When we arrived, trying to get out of a snowstorm, the manager took us to our site and invited us to their regular Friday night fish fry. Because of the snow we had to stay over a few days, and they were very accommodating. Although it's a little run down, it has a lot of atmosphere and you are really treated well. We would go back again (especially for that Friday night fish fry). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park has shared utilities for the pull-through sites and the site we were in was not even 20 ft from the next site. There was no picnic table. There was a small patio. The back in sites were further from one another and had more space for parking. It looked liked the bulk of the sites were for monthly or longer stays. The park is not "new" as stated in their ad. There were other parks - though further out of town - that were, in our opinion, better parks.We were disappointed in our stay and will stay at another park should we return to the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We spend 2 nights here with 3 RV's in our group. When compared to the other campgrounds at Del Rio, the sites here are very tight. They state they are Del Rio's newest campground and that may be true, but they are not "new". This park appears to be at least 20 years old and no renovations in the bathhouse area. Small, old, and out of date. No comparison to the Holiday Travel Park of Del Rio, (7 nights in 2004). Updating at the Holiday Travel Park makes it appear much newer than this park. The staff was friendly and the park is closer to town than Holiday. Next year we will try Buzzard's Roost which is almost across the street from this park. It's sites appear to be larger and better laid out. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very friendly, quite a few activities and yet it was quiet We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
