This might not be the worst campground in Texas, but it's close. We stayed here for one night on our way to Big Bend. Check in was on the honor system and we never saw any staff. The campground is in serious need of updating. Most of the other campers there were long time residents. The restrooms were locked the whole time we were there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is, without a doubt, the worst park I have been in. We stayed here overnight on our way through Texas. I thought it would be okay for just one night, since I get tired of paying higher prices for such a short time. If I had no kids and no dog, it would be okay. I could have just hidden in the RV and never looked outside. This place is filthy. Its all dirt, what little overgrown grass there is, is strewn with broken glass, torn aluminum cans, etc. Plenty of stuff to cut your pooches' feet. I did not let my kids outside. Payment is still on the honor system, there is a drop box. The owner lives a few blocks away, and came through the property a couple of times. He was pretty nice, and helped us pick a spot. Oh yes, some sites are 50 amp only, but no way to tell until you try to plug in, so check that first if you have 30 amp. The site was pretty level. Wide enough for our one slide, but not if you have slides on both sides. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Found this campground on Eleventh St behind Camanche Hotel and RV park headed off I-10 into town. We saw this one from the road. Camp host very friendly, offered a wifi coupon for free 24 hours - low signal but worked, easy in and out for a overnight stay. Can't beat the 10.00 price!! We were happy!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for an over night. Private park with not much to offer other than cheep prices, on the honor system. Good electric and water pressure. Just outside of town and close to the interstate for easy on/off. Showers and bathrooms were clean, even while being renovated. All gravel level lot. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this park several times over the years. It is very basic but everything works. They say they have now discontinued cable TV. Rates are $16 for 30 amp and $18 for 50 amp. Quite a few permanents. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

For the price, this park is OK for a short stay. Most occupants are long term, but plenty of sites are available for transients - reservations are not accepted. We had a hard time locating it because our GPS would not accept the I-10 address. We had to call for directions from the Wal-Mart parking lot. It is on the north service road, east of I-10 exit 257. GPS coordinates are N30º54.368' & W102º54.029'. Payment in cash only. Price paid is for 30A full hook up. On arrival we asked about the cable TV quality, noting that a previous reviewer said the picture was poor. The owner said all sites are the same and his long term customers have no complaints. The signal at our TV was weak, some stations were good, others poor - ABC and Fox News were audio only. He tested reception at the post with a TV and 6-foot cable and said any problem beyond that is up to the customer. If you have an RV with long built-in internal cables, splitters and a switch box and you connect to the post with a long cable, your reception will probably be poor. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great stopping point in this part of Texas. Nothing glamorous but more than adequate. Owner friendly and helpful. Cash only, no credit cards. Crushed rock sites, easy in and out. Rate is for 50 amp service, 30 amp is $2 less. Some road noise from the Interstate but not unbearable. We would definitely return if we were passing through this part of Texas. Dirt and gravel lot, but the sites are very level and getting cable for the rate is unusual. Owner was friendly. As stated in other reviews the cable was a bit snowy. We were probably the only non long term RV at the park. Some road noise, but it eased up later in the night. Descent place for an overnight stop and you can't beat the rate for a 50 amp, full hook-up. Since Fort Stockton is a logical stop for traveling through Texas, we will probably stop here again. This a big, wide-open gravel area with pull throughs marked off with log dividers. Not a bad place for an overnight stop. Easy access off of the I-10 frontage road. Good value, full 30-amp hookup for $16. We'd probably stay here again if passing through the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate for this campground seems to vary by reviewer; we paid $16 a night for a 3 night stay. The campground is simply a large field with a crushed stone base. Sites are 20 feet wide, separated by some long planks. The wind blows through unimpeded by trees or other features other than some tall arrows buried into the ground. There were many open spaces during our stay, and about half the occupied ones appeared to be workers in the area. We didn't see if there were any bathrooms or showers as we had full hookups. Given the poor reviews of the other campgrounds in the Fort Stockton area, we'd probably stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I just can't give this place the same rating as the last few reviewers, although I do agree that it works for an overnight stay. But that's it. The check-in person was pleasant, but offered no information about park unless we asked a specific question. The sites are nothing more than level dust. All the utilities worked well except for the wi-fi which we could not get connected to. There appears to be quite a few long term residents, but their sites were not trashy. I am not sure if there were any bathrooms or showers. We didn't see any and the check-in person did not mention any. We realize this is a very dry area of Texas, but even so there was no attempt at even minimal desert landscaping. There is highway noise. If you don't mind a very plain, rather unattractive park that is only $18, then stop here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very clean spartan campground. Beautiful views of sunset/sunrise. Very easy On/Off. Gas station right before the entrance to I-10W. 2 Prices. $16 for 30 amp, $18 for 50 amp ($199 a month including elec/cable/Wi-Fi). Price includes Water/Electric/Sewer/Cable and Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is fast during the day, nonexistent at night. Cable is a little snowy on main channels, clear local channels, TV guide on channel 3. Very peaceful, even though the highway is within sight. Sites level, rock/gravel mix. Also great space behind campground for walking my big pooches. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great price, good wifi, and lots of channels. We came here during a rare rain. The place turned into a mud pit. Our wheels sunk into the mud. Our GPS had a problem finding the place. Luckily we saw the arrows from the highway. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed this park! Nothing special, but friendly people, flat ground and right off the interstate! the arrows were a nice perk! Felt like we were under attack, but not really! I will definitely stay here again. A great stopping place between El Paso and San Antonio! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We don't need the amenities of fancy parks on this trip so this park was great for an overnight. It's right off the freeway. In fact, you can see the traffic but it was not noisy. The site was wide and easy in/out. It's just a gravel parking lot but we did not have to level - site was level. At the PA rate, this park should not be bypassed. Owner was very nice and accommodating. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Big gravel lot next to the interstate. The most appealing aspect is the total price that gets you all utilities: including 50amp, Wi-Fi and cable TV. We were coming off a boondocking stretch so the utilities were welcome. Good spot for a night or so. We camped here in a Motorhome.

San Antonio to El Paso is too far for a one day drive, Fort Stockton is half way and one of the only cities to stop. This park is O.K. for a one night stop and as previous reviewers have said it's just a gravel parking lot. Well actually it's not gravel it's rocks and you don't want to be walking around barefoot or even in thin soled shoes. It's just fine though and I'd stay here again. The owner is a nice guy and for $16 what do you want? The power and water are good, the cable system is "just o.k." and the Wi-Fi has been turned off due to abuse by one of the full timers who down loaded something that set off alarms with the cable company. It's a "park and stay in your rig" type of place. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a gravel parking lot, but it is excellent for a one night layover. Easy access on and off I-10, but there is traffic noise. I gave it a 6 rating because the owner was exceptionally nice, and the hook-ups were very good. Voltage remained strong with many A/C units running in the park. Notably the sewer was close enough to use my 5' hose which I keep for quick easy clean up at dump stations. Would definitely layover here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Okay, so it doesn't have a pool or mini golf or store. BUT where else are you going to get 50 amp, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi for $18?? ($16 for 30 amp). Sites are larger than the other campgrounds in the area. Stone and dirt and sand but no dust, even on the very windy days we were here. Some semi-permanents but no junk lying around. Close to I-10 for easy off and on but you do have some noise from there. Within 1/2 mile of 3 gas stations; next door to golf course. We stayed here in December on our way west and said "never again." Decided to give it a try on our way east and I'll now say, "Of course we'll stay here again!" Since December, I've learned that western desert campgrounds are much different than eastern forest campgrounds. Ft. Stockton is a neat, historic Texas town. Super Wal-Mart to be completed in September; Lowe's Foods is expanding. Lots of geocaches; music in the town square; lots of history. Good place to stay for a few days of exploring. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

As stated before this is a good place to stop over for one night. I would not want to stay more than that. Park is gravel and dirt, but surprisingly, no dust. Lot of semi-permanent campers. Within a month of so, a new construction project will start in Ft. Stockton, and the owner (very friendly) says he will be full for two years. The last construction project ended recently and he was full for two years for this project. So, be sure you check first. If we are by this way again, we will stay here, for one night. Need a level place to park for a night along I-10? This does the job it has full hookups, cable and if you can get by with 30 amps, it's $16. If you require 50 amps, $18. We enjoyed this park 11 years ago, so we looked for it on this trip. Hard to find, as they had dropped their listings in the big directories due to the expense. The park is a ghost town compared to what it was in 1999, but for $16 it's a darn nice overnight! Has level sites, 30/50 amp, a clean shower and rest room, quiet residents and campers, honor-system check-in after hours, and a friendly "chief." Took off a point for no Wi-Fi. I'd do this camp again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Previous reviews are pretty accurate. This park is a dirt field that has been graveled. I suspect this would be a mud puddle in the rain. It's rows of pull through sites, separated by logs placed on the ground. Hookups are properly provided at each site. We paid the $16 standard rate for a 30 amp site. Note: this park is CASH ONLY. Easy on & off expressway, exit 257. You will hear road noise. We are in a stone pull through site and it's fine for an overnight stay. Site is a large stone/gravel lot with roads and sites not marked but you can figure it out. Looks like it was just built onto the existing campground. Disconnected truck and parked it next to 5th Wheel, site a tad short. Sprint cell phone & air card work OK. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is next to Interstate 10 and has road noise. Also occasional planes going over from the nearby airport. Restrooms/showers were not clean. Lukewarm water in shower. Only one restroom/shower for men and one for women. Large rocks, rather than gravel was used for the park. The park is mostly permanent residents. Not very neat around old trailers. We looked at four other parks in town and this was still the best choice. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Comanche Land RV park is another of those stops along the way to your destination: it is not a destination RV park. It's level and most sites have cable TV. It does not look like much, but for $14, it is just a stop for a night's rest. We would stop here again passing through. 50amp electrical service is $4 more per night at this time. A convenient location just off of I-10. It is easy to get in and out. Office staff were friendly and helpful. Sites were big enough for our 41' motor home with room to park the tow car. It is easy to get into the sites. Sites are wide enough to put out slides on each side with a little room left over, but not a lot. The campground is gravel and dirt - or mud when wet. It is not much more than a parking lot with hookups. But it was quiet and felt safe. It is perfectly adequate for an overnight stay when passing through the area. I'd even consider staying there as a base if I had some other reason to be in Fort Stockton. But this is not a destination park by any means. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pulled in after office was closed. Directed to leave money before parking (cash in envelope in box).They had the open sites listed. Went to a 50 amp site and after pulling in found only 108kw on our meter. Luckily we had not left money yet, we did leave. It was totally dirt campground with rusted power boxes. Not even worth it at 16 per night. The pull thru site was not long enough for us and car either.

This is an in-transit type park just off of I-10 just outside Fort Stockton. The park is a gravel site with utilities added. No beauty. Just an excellent place to hang your hat for a night and move on. Numerous long-term workers stay in the park. Park seemed very safe. Bathroom is very basic, not clean and could use maintenance. I would stay here again if passing through. Office personnel were very friendly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Okay place to stay a night or two while visiting the area. Easy off/on I-10. Road noise is noticeable. Sites are close together. There are oil field workers living here but that's not a problem. The country needs more parks like this: a clean, no-frills park to stay overnight on the way to somewhere. It has full hookups ($12 for 30 amp, $14 for 50 amp). It's right by the interstate, easy off, easy on. Good dirt interior roads; level sites; easy hookups. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were very pleased with this RV park for an overnight stop. Very easy in/out and an unbeatable price. We paid $16. $12 was the basic rate + $2 for 50 amp and $2 for cable. Seems to be a bit more than others paid. Host was very friendly. There are a great many monthlies here, and many older RVs, but we did not notice any cluttered, unsightly sites. Everything seemed tidy. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Our favorite I-10 stop over. Easy in and out, not too near freeway, lots of dog walking area, cable, and a honor system of pick your own spot after office hours. The only reason I do not give it a 9 or 10 is the gravel and clay sites can be a mess after a rain and there is no shade. For us the price and convenience makes it unbeatable in the region. It was right off the highway, easy to get in and out of, and the gentleman running it was extremely pleasant, including staying late to wait for us since we were behind schedule that day. I give this park a 10 because it is exactly what it supposed to be and meets a specific need. Nothing pretty--mostly gravel sites with no landscaping, but they do offer very long and wide pull through sites and easy ingress and egress. The park is specifically designed for overnighters, is very inexpensive ($10 basic, and provide an excellent alternative to Wal-Mart or high priced campgrounds for overnight stays. We definitely need more of this type of park! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We parked here overnight because of positive ratings on rvparkreviews. com, and found the previous reviews to be right on target. The manager/owner is very friendly and when we discovered that the $10 thirty amp hookup wasn't going to power us with a second air conditioner, the manager allowed us to just drag our land line over to an adjacent 50 amp site and pay the 3 dollars difference. We saw numberous rv'ers camped overnight in the local "picnic areas" and out in the texas underbrush off the road, but for 10 or 13 dollars, you can get a good night's sleep at this park. A real no brainer. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a bare-bones park that works very well as an overnight stop and it's conveniently located right off the interstate. A very nice man runs the office and will assign you a $10 site that is fairly level. Some sites have 50a and cable for an extra charge of $3 and $2 respectively. Our cable did not work and we were quickly given back our $2 extra cable fee. Interior roads and sites are gravel and dirt. Next time we're traveling between San Antonio and the El Paso/Las Cruces area, we'll stop again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved this little park with the huge Comanche arrows sticking in the ground everywhere.
It's the ideal no-frills park for the traveler who just needs a safe, clean, inexpensive place to stop for the night. I wish we could find more of these on the road. The rate we received was for being a Passport member and requesting a 50 amp hookup.We will use this park whenever we're passing through the area. Being able to visit nearby Fort Stockton was just an extra treat. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you need a quick and easy-to-access RV park between El Paso and San Antonio, get off
I-10 in Ft. Stockton at exit 257, --the park is amost right at the westbound exit. A note on the office door said to put the $10 in the box, and pick your space. Most spaces were pull through (all gravel), and some had a sign saying "50 amp. The 50 amp. sites and/ or cable TV cost a couple of dollars extra. Don't expect lush landscaping , but this is a decent park at a reasonable price with with full hookups. The park's phone number is 432-336-6403. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Please DO NOT confuse this crummy RV park with the much better Comanche Land RV Park. The Comanche Motel RV Park is located in a very rough looking area inside the town of Fort Stockton. This so called RV park is nothing more than a dirt lot behind the Comanche Motel. You can't see this from the street or we would have kept right on going. When we arrived it was getting dark and we were tired. The girl in the motel office quoted us a rate of $15 and said their rate included cable TV and Wi-Fi. We thought what the heck, it's only for one night. The girl's mother directed us behind the motel and we were shocked to find ourselves bouncing through a dirt lot that was rougher than a washboard. There was a lot of trash and debris in the area as well. There were quite a few campers staying there and they were quite friendly, however, we still felt compelled to sleep with a gun within easy reach. The only reason I gave this place a rating of 3 out of 10 is for the cable and Wi-Fi which worked very well. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I would have rated it higher, but the restaurant was closed on the weekend and sewer hook up was so far back we would have to buy more hose. We didn't hook up to sewer and just used the dump station before we left. We wanted to stay hooked up since we were only staying overnight. There were people not cleaning up after their dog. Also, sites are a bit confusing and an escort would be helpful. Seems like a skeleton crew for a weekend of business, but pleasant staff. Great Wi-Fi. I would come here again. Pets are allowed but there is no place to walk them that is not full of sand spurs. Poor dog feet. Really liked the people here and the park. Great little Cafe. I'm not reporting a full review since we were just there overnight. FHU, pets allowed. The dog run in the brochure has been taken down. I don't know why, since they have the space. This used to be KOA. I don't think the new owners are really doing the upkeep that should be done at the park. There are quite a few permanent residents. Some have nice lots, others are questionable. When traveling through this area, what I suspect most of us are looking for is a level site that is easy to get into and out of. A quiet respite after a day of fighting West Texas winds. This park provides that. Nothing to block satellite TV, so the lack of cable or air TV isn't an issue. Reports of poor Internet just meant we used our own. Easily located along the highway. (Old KOA campground). Staff was very friendly. The gravel site was a good size and fairly level. The full washrooms were clean. We enjoyed our dinner at the cafe on site, good food for a reasonable dollar. No cable offered here and while there was WiFi, it was very poor. We were told it worked well in the cafe but I didn't bother. We noticed some cats wandering around which might explained the "droppings" around our RV site or: pet owners not picking up. This is a stop for us when traveling I-10. The staff is very nice. They have an on-site restaurant that serves a very good breakfast. They also have a dinner that we understand is also very good. Great park for short-term stay. Very friendly staff & lovely little restaurant attached for breakfast & dinner (Roadrunner Cafe). We had a great dinner there for $20 (2 people including good tip!). It's your basic RV park, no fluff & definitely not fancy. But if all you want is comfortable & complete hookup, this works. The advertised wi-fi is non-existent at the sites, but apparently works in the restaurant. I can't guarantee that, as I didn't bother to check. We'd stay here again, and for a pitstop, I'd recommend it to friends. We stayed in a motorhome with a tow vehicle (we're 66' long when towing), and we were able to keep the tow vehicle connected without blocking any roads. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We always stay at this park when heading west on IH10. Well managed park with on site restaurant serving home cooked meals at affordable prices. Restrooms at rear of park are full private bathrooms per individual with great showers. Nice trail for dog walking. Laundry facilities. Busy during winter months so you might want to call ahead. We stayed in this park overnight and found the sites to be level and adequate for our 35 ft 5th wheel. We did not need to unhook and were able to reach all amenities. We arrived while the office was closed for lunch but we saw the cook from the cafe, and he came and helped us find our site. When the office opened, the clerk was extremely friendly and welcoming. We went to the cafe for dinner and found the food to be excellent, the price very reasonable, and the waitress very friendly and helpful. We are very disappointed with this park.They need staff able to assign suitable sites. Our 36' MH is too long for the site assigned; we are unable to use the sewer. We are out in the street fore and aft with an adjacent permanent trailer and a car parked in front of it and in front of us, along with a tree to the right. We may have to unhook tomorrow to get out. Our friends next to us are also unable to use the sewer and will not be able to leave if someone moves in across from them. The camp ground is in need of a face lift, the showers are in poor shape, the sites need work and the people are not as friendly as could be. The only one who talked to me was a young girl that waitressed in the cafe. The laundry machines did not work well. Location was next to the Interstate which is good for on and off but a bit noisy. There was a restaurant in the park and since we were there for an quick overnight, we went in for dinner. A great stop between the Interstate 20 and Big Bend National Park, TX. We stop here to provision for a trip to the park. Level pull thru sites with clean facilities. The night sky is awesome. Bring binoculars. The big plus is the Roadrunner Cafe. Food cooked to order after a long haul is sweet. The food and the folks are great. A pleasant campground outside the city center. If you call Ft. Stockton a city. Ft. Stockton has Annie Riggs Museum, historic Ft. Stockton, and a giant Roadrunner, Pete. Worth an extra day to noodle around, stock up and head to the park. The rate reflects a 10% Good Sam discount. I left the question about "shade sites available" checked with a "yes" but should note that there are a few sites that have a small amount of shade. Reading reviews of campgrounds in the area, it was a toss-up between this campground and another. We picked this one because we like dark, quite campgrounds. If you arrive at this campground between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. you will not find anyone in the office. The system is to take one of the map sheets with a site marked on it and go to that site, then to check back in when the office is open. A bit of a strange system, but it seemed to work OK. As noted, there are some longer-term residents, but this was not a problem. When we arrived at about noon, the park was only about 20 to 30% full. However, around 5 p.m. they started to stream in and, although not completely full, it was getting that way by dark. We got a site quite a ways back from the freeway, so we had no issue with freeway noise. We were near the entrance road with some traffic but not a big problem. Also, when we were there it was quite warm so we ran our AC most of the time. The sites are quite large for a commercial RV park, so you did not have the feeling of being cramped. Maneuvering around the campground was easy. Overall, we were very positively surprised at how nice the campground was, particularly given the area. We would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a regular stop for us in this part of Texas and while not a resort, the park provides everything needed for an overnight stay. Much depends on which site is assigned, since some are sandy and short, while others that front the entrance road are long and shaded. Hookups work well and Verizon cell and data were good. The cafe offers a limited menu, and is staffed by friendly folks; we enjoy not having to cook or unhook to drive to town. This isn't an area of quality parks, be we've stayed here many times and always been well pleased. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really don't like this part of Texas, but needed an overnight spot. Too close to I-10, but the gusty winds disguised the hwy noise. The sites are adequately wide, but pull through sites are too short; we had to disconnect, even though they said we would not when we made the reservation. (Our RV is only 32 ft.) Shower rooms not the cleanest we've seen, and shower water spray was too weak. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park! Friendly, helpful staff. Gravel roads, sites not level but are a mixture of gravel and old blacktop. Nice private showers/toilet/sink rooms but showers are small (32" wide) and ventilation is bad. Wi-Fi was slow to dead on most of our attempts to read email. Although they use a password, it has not been changed since its first use - we used our Verizon mobile hotspot. Roadrunner cafe, in the park, has good food - beer & wine is offered. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We use this park for an overnight stop only. It is not a destination park. The services are adequate and it is very quiet. The office is closed until 2:00 pm because that is when everyone starts coming in for the night, and the park does fill up. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you are looking for luxury, this isn't the place for you. However, if you are looking for a nice place to stay with GREAT service and many amenities, definitely stay here. The lady at the desk is an example of how people should be when greeting guests. She is outgoing and friendly and very helpful. The sites, while not spectacular, were everything I needed. Remember, this is far west Texas, there isn't much around. It also has an excellent small cafe with daily specials. I would not hesitate to stay there every time I'm in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here several times and enjoy the park. Granted it is a bit rustic, but the sites are roomy and level, staff is friendly, restrooms are clean, and it is quiet. The on site Road Runner cafe serves a limited breakfast and dinner menu - food is pretty good. The town of Fort Stockton (Walmart, grocery store, auto parts stores, fast food, etc) is an easy 3 mile drive on a frontage road. Desert views from the park are very pretty. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Agree with previous posts. No cable TV. We were able to get only 1 OTA channel in English, and the reception was choppy. (Love that new digital TV: NOT). Wi-Fi was weak and spotty, but reasonable with a laptop in the laundry room. Nice views to the north and south of mesas about five miles away in both directions. Rate included a 20% discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 5 or 6 years ago when it was a KOA and thought it was a nice park, however time has a way of changing things. The sites are gravel in need of some basic leveling and additional gravel. The concrete patio was in poor repair with a broken off corner. This campground had a large number of long term residents who started leaving at 5 AM. There are a number of cats roving the campground which initially was fine with us since we are pet lovers, but when one is walking on your roof during the night and howling, it is a tad upsetting. For a quick one night stay, I might stay here again, but would check out the competition first. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This Good Sam RV park used to be a KOA park. It is in the middle of nothing, close to Fort Stockton. It was just an overnight stay for us. Pull throughs with full hookups, but no cable. Ladies restrooms were clean, individual rooms with full size tub/shower, toilet, sink and were well stocked with soap and paper towels. The woman working in the office was very friendly. There also is a cafe on the grounds, but we did not eat there. This is a good overnight place, but it is certainly not a destination. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects a 20% promotional discount. I stayed here for 1 night in a pull through site. Campground elevation is 3,000 feet. Maneuvering my 40 footer towing a dinghy was no issue. Roads and sites are a mixture of asphalt and gravel. Patios are grass and gravel. Sites are large enough to hold a tow and dinghy. My site was level and spacing is fair. My site offered 30/50 amp service & full hookups. Wi-Fi is included in daily rate. Their Wi-Fi is very slow. I was able to receive AT&T Wireless G2 Internet & Cellular service. I received Dish Network 110/119 Satellite TV from dish on roof of motorhome. Campground is pet friendly. Walmart and a grocery are 6 miles away. They have a restaurant but I did not use it. I am unable to comment on other amenities due to not using them. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great overnight stop! Easy off and on from I-10, friendly staff, level sites, 70’ pull-through site, reasonable rates, excellent on-site restaurant for breakfast and dinner. As stated in an earlier review, there seems to be many permanent or semi-permanent residents but the night we stayed there were also several overnight guests. We found the campground to be very pleasant, convenient, quiet, and a restful place to overnight. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This should not be called an RV park. It is a trailer park. The lady who checked us in was very nice and helpful. For a reason I cannot pinpoint, I felt the rate was perhaps arbitrary, whatever she felt like charging. It is a small park. Sites are small and gravel. There was only one other overnighter besides us. All others are permanent, so permanent in fact, they have structures built and attached to their RVs and 100 lb propane tanks outside. They all go to work starting at 4:30 AM. Every 15 minutes another diesel truck starts up and idles for a long time. It is impossible to get any rest in this park in spite of the fact it is farther off the interstate than the others in this area. We do not recommend this park and hope we do not ever have to stay here again. The cafe is changing owners so liquor cannot be served. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is a good stopping place between El Paso and San Antonio. Although it does not have cable (probably no one in that area does), the Wi-Fi was acceptable and it had a great campground cafe. This is mostly a one night stop for RV's and suits the purpose. You should consider making a reservation early in the day, because it does fill up sometimes, even in the off season. We camped here in a Motorhome.

An older park that is in need of much updating. Previous review a month ago indicated the urinal in the men's room was out of service; still is. Sites are wide enough but dusty and unlevel. Lots of permanent residents; must be worker bees as there is a lot of car and truck noise early in the morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The cafe was open, and I had the ribs; very good and at $8.95 a real bargain. This park is worth an overnight stay but not for long term. The $24 rate was with my Good Sam discount. I am not very impressed with this campground. My campground book said that the sites were paved. They were covered with gravel. They said that there was a pet walk area. If so, it was not marked and had lots of sand burrs in the area. There are a lot of long term campers there. The cafe was closed because the work kampers were not there yet. The people that were there were friendly and helpful. The bathroom needs a lot of updating, the urinal was out of service. It is an OK place for one night, but not much more. I probably would stay there again, but only if that was the last resort. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I'd try the park further west, over this one. Looked at it on our way out: seems much better. This park is very rundown except for the pool, restaurant and office area, which is only marginally better. A bunch of tent campers parked near the pool partied loudly until 3 am. No one made an effort to stop them, although this park has "quiet hours." Apparently not. I would not stay here again, even though the area doesn't offer a lot of choices. We have always stayed at this park along IH 10. But we can say that we will not stay here again. As in most RV parks, there is a turnover of staff and this turnover was not a good. Felt like we was bothering them invading their space, but not to wonder, we will not invade again! And the WiFi is non-existing! Why say you have WiFi when you do not? We drove into McDonald's in Fort Stockton to use their WiFi. Owner needs to understand RVer's like a smile on the faces of the people in the office! We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you can get to your destination without stopping here, do it. The gravel interior roads are full of pot-holes. The restrooms and showers are not clean. We could not connect to WiFi at our site or in the office or laundry room. Other people were having problems but we were all told it was our computers. A positive is the long sites are fairly level. We stopped at this park while traveling across Texas. It is a great stop for overnight. The grounds are clean and well kept. Since we were only staying the night we opted for a pull-through site which was packed gravel with a concrete patio. The best part is that they have a cafe that offers breakfast and dinner. The food was great (especially the ribs!) I would definitely return to this park when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were looking for a place to spend two nights while driving across Texas on the 1-10. We couldn't have done better than here. Nice clean park, wide spaces and dog friendly. Easy access from the freeway and very quiet at night. The cable TV was clear and our satellite dish worked great too. We really appreciated the little cafe at the park. The staff was friendly at both the park and the cafe. We enjoyed both our dinner and breakfast. The food was great, the service excellent and the price was very reasonable. We would stay here again. This park continues its place as the best stop in the area, and was filled during our stay. Long pull through sites, some trees, and an excellent cafe make this a preferred stay for many travelers. This is a good place to stop for a night or two. Staff went out of their way for their customers. Park is mainly long term campers but they have a row in the back for overnight. Campground is dirt and gravel and it tracks inside your rig. Good Verizon air card and phone service. Spectacular view from the park. Easy on/off the interstate. Park had a water problem due to the extreme cold. No water was available and repairs had to be made to their well. Thankfully, we always carry some fresh water on board. Overnight stop only! Roadrunner cafe ribs were great but breakfast was very salty and not very good at all. The site was adequate and the reason for the low rating is that I have never seen so much dog waste anywhere: least of all in a campground. We always pick up after our dog, but apparently at this park nobody cares because there was waste on every patch of grass, on the gravel sites, in the middle of the road and all over the "pet walk" area. It was absolutely disgusting and we had to keep checking our shoes so as not to tramp it into our rig. Yeuch. We would never stay here again: not even for a "stop 'n' go" overnighter. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is always a good overnight campground. We stay here every other year or so. No frills, but always feel safe and comfortable. Many full-timers here. Guess they are with Haliburton or some other oil company. Lots of diesel trucks starting up early each morning. Noticed several FEMA trailers. Wondered if management knows that the sewage system for them is not set up for RV parks since they have home flush toilets. We have seen many of them in many parks and cause us much concern as they are not compatible with RV sewage systems. The FEMA trailers were to be sold by the Government for "storage units" only and not to be habitable for humans since the Katrina incident. Probably only former Government people like us know that. As others have said, this is a great over-night park. The Roadrunner cafe was very good again, but the staff shortage means they are closed on Monday morning (so we missed their breakfast). Just a note, if the Roadrunner closes, we'll stay elsewhere; the convenience of the cafe is what brings us here. The wi-fi was extremely slow (so slow I could not get into my work site), but the Verizon air card worked well. My opinion--offering poor quality wi-fi is worse than not offering it. I wasted a lot of time and was frustrated because I tried theirs first. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Right off I-10. The park is mostly gravel, but well maintained. It's mainly in desert, so there aren't any lakes nearby. The staff, or "workcampers", were extremely friendly. The restaurant located on sight is small, but the food is delicious. We had the pleasure of meeting the park owner, and he is truly a good hearted man. This was our 3rd time staying here. We have stayed in this park over the past four years as a stopping spot either going west or coming home. The park has gotten much nicer! The long term residents have cleaned up their act, the roads, while gravel, are all spotless, and the camp, in general, seems much better cared for. The on-site restaurant is pretty good and, while we did not use it, the pool appeared well maintained. Definitely a nice place to layover on the long drive across TX. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The owners of this campground made us feel welcome and comfortable. From the time we called for availability to the time we registered and set up we were treated very well. This park was formerly the Fort Stockton KOA. We have stayed here dozens of times over the years and have had mixed experiences. On this most recent trip we were pleasantly surprised to find that much needed work is underway to improve and upgrade the park. The facility had been a bit shabby. It is encouraging to see the TLC underway since the sites are too short, and impossible of many motor homes and big 5th wheel rigs. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient. The small restaurant on site serves up a great breakfast and supper. This park is one of our favorites for an overnight stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Stockton RV Park was a KOA the last time we were through, and we were not then pleased. Now it is under private ownership and we were overwhelmed with how well it was run. How pleasant the people were, now nice and level the sites were (our levelers are not working at the moment) and how wonderful it was to find that they had 3 private bath suites in the woman's bathroom that had actual real, stretch out and soak bathtubs! Also the attached Roadrunner cafe was a pleasure. Their specialty is the Mesquite Country ribs and they did look great, but Hubby and I both had the Chicken Fried Steak. One of the best I've ever eaten. Everything is Homemade there. The morning Biscuits and gravy were fabulous as well. Large portions and a cheap price. As stated, this "used to be a KOA", but I'm sure glad it is not anymore, KOA does not deserve this one, it gets an A+ in our book! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were in a pull-through site. Nice green grassy area for the table with plenty of room for our slide outs and room to sit outside. We had a good WiFi connection but no cable TV. We discovered that there are no gas stations at this exit, so after leaving, we had to go back 5 miles. We were only here for overnight, but found it to be a nice campground. We called ahead for reservations since we knew we would be arriving late. The lady on the phone was friendly and patient with my cell phone breaking up during our conversation. We had a reservation kit in the drop box as she promised. Map was provided with clear instructions to our site. Wi-Fi was supposed to be included but we were not given a password to connect. We were unable to access any television stations at all. The park was relatively clean, but there seemed to be a lot of fulltimers here with lots of clutter around their sites. OK for an overnight. A lot of construction workers with lots of "stuff" around their sites. Staff friendly. Never was able to connect on their Wi-Fi. Stayed in this CG overnight. Arrived after the office was closed but called ahead to make a reservation. Reservation was in the drop box when we arrived with clear instructions/map to our site. Park has clean restrooms/showers. My wife was impressed with the ladies private bathrooms with tubs. Never seen that before anywhere. Roadrunner Cafe was closed even though we arrived way before the advertised closing time. No cable TV and the WiFi service required password which was not provided to us in the reservation. Noticed several homesteaders. Someone revved up his motorcycle at night which was quite annoying. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is good for an overnight visit. The staff is friendly , but they will tell you that activities are few. The sites are old gravel and semi level. Our 42' motorhome + truck did not fit completely in the site, but the staff doesn't care. I carrying orange cones. This is laid back Texas. The pool is small, and they offer meals at the restaurant. The power went out while we were there, and power is needed for running water. Small trailers had problems. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This seems to be the best campground in the Fort Stockton area. Desert landscaping helps to alleviate the bareness of the area. A nice sitting area near the pool provides welcome shade. The campground and restrooms are clean, and the staff was friendly. Sites and roads were gravel. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed one night. This was a very nice campground out in west Texas. Really did enjoy the onsite cafe (Roadrunner Cafe) that made it easy so we did not have to go into town after driving all day for food. Menu was limited but the food was good. Did have WiFi but signal was ony 2 bars which made it hard to stay connected. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We spent a week at the Fort Stockton RV Park. This park has the greatest "private" bathrooms we have ever seen. Family bathrooms in the rear of the campground and private rooms for the ladies in the front, with bathtubs. The cafe' was wonderful for supper and breakfast and the prices were right. The sites are long enough where you don't have to unhook, unless you want to and even though you are in the desert, there is plenty of grass and trees. Actually the only grass and trees we found in quite a few States out West. The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. But, oops, no cable TV. Oh well, I was forced to have a conversation with my husband, which actually proved to be quite enjoyable. We would recommend this campground to all who want to take in the sites of West Texas. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Price reflects Good Sam discount. Easy on/off from I-10 for an overnight stay. Fairly level pull-through site with grassy areas between sites. Reasonable amount of space between sites, maybe 15-20 feet. Wi-Fi signal not strong on our site and no Cable TV. Pool is having the last touches put on before filling. Staff was friendly. One of the staff came by to pick up our LP tank for refilling for $20. The Roadrunner Cafe is on site but didn't get a chance to eat there. Prices were very reasonable. When considering this park, you have to consider the purpose. As an overnight stop between Kerrville and Las Cruces, it is perfect. The pull-through was long enough we did not unhook the tow vehicle, and we ate at the Roadrunner Cafe (decent food, right amount, good price). Little grass on the sites, but it is West Texas, after all. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Above average "over nighter." There is nothing in Fort Stockton but it's half way between El Paso and San Antonio and a convenient stop-over. All pull throughs, clean, and an excellent on-site diner. Dinner for 2 with beer and wine for $20.00. Good food; plenty of it too. Well kept. Mostly gravel. Easy on and off of I-10, but noise not an issue in the spring with windows closed. Might be during the summer with windows open. Will stop here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We pulled in around 2:30 and the people working the desk helped us get registered and couldn't have been nicer. Our site was plenty long (we are in a 40 ft MH with 3 slides), and we were perfectly level. The sites and road are gravel but did not cause any problems. We almost didn't come to this park because of the reviews, but decided to since none of the choices sounded any better. I am so glad that we did. This is a nice campground and except for some noise from the interstate, which wasn't unbearable, I would come back here in a heartbeat. It was also great that they have a restaurant (Roadrunner Cafe) right in the campground and the food was pretty good with a good price too. The only thing I would have liked was cable TV, but with satellite we didn't need it. We stayed for 2 nights and had no problems. . We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an RV Park, definitely not a Resort, but having said that, it is OK. We'd stay overnight again. The in-park cafe is a Mom and Pop operation (literally). It was many years ago that we stayed here and now find the park is full of permanent or definitely long term residents. They have several huge bumps on the entry road which we didn't find the need for. We barely made the tight turns to our assigned site and with the car hooked up to our 38 foot Motor Home we just fit. There is no TV or cable and the 50 amp power was only 117 without running anything. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a good overnight stop with easy on/off of I-10. When I called to check on availability, the lady on the phone was very friendly. The roads and sites are dust and gravel, but the park is clean. There is a playground for the kids. The dog got burrs in his fur here. Granted this park is not a five star resort, but it definitely is not the dump that another reviewer called it. We have stayed here several times over the years, most recently a week ago, and it is a good place to stop for the night. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome. The roads are gravel as are the sites. There is a grill and table at most sites. We noticed that they have nice, new tables. The individual restroom/showers have always been clean, but could use some updating. I wish they would add cable TV, but at least they have Wi-Fi now. It was slow at times, but usable for checking email. The landscaping is lacking, but take a look around; this is West Texas where it is not lush and green. The biggest change we noticed is that there seemed to be several long term residents (probably local workers and probably due to the economy), but their sites were well kept. I am sure we will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Right off of I-10, EZ off-on. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Sites are gravel/dirt but plenty big enough for my 34ft motorhome and toad. NO CABLE, there is WI-FI but we used our AT&T Air Card. This place is a dump. We have stayed here 3 times over the course of 3 years, and each time it gets worse. It may be the best in town, but that's not much. Right off I-10, north side, this is certainly just an overnight stay, not a destination. Little far away from Fort Stockton itself, but from what I could tell the best spot for an overnight stay. Sites are simple dirt, hook ups are water, sewer and not so reliable power. No cable is offered at this site. Wireless internet is available but very low speed. Clean facilities and dinner at the Road Runner Restaurant on site not the best meal I ever had. Very clean, courteous staff, but a lot to improve on food, may be breakfast will be better, but I am afraid to try now. Office provides a few essentials for your stay. Again, a quick overnight stop is all I can choose to comment about Fort Stockton RV Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is very accessible from the interstate and the sites are level and large. They are gravel with gravel patios. The employees were friendly and helpful with information regarding the surrounding area. The park does not have cable and there are no local stations so, unless you have satellite, you will not get much reception. This is a good location for travelers, just a couple of minutes off I-10. Sites have lots of room between campers, and our site was long enough to keep the truck hooked up to a 32' fifth wheel. Everything is is old and dated, but clean. We were only five sites away from the office, but couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi. We moved to a chair outside the office, but still couldn't connect. Modem in the laundry room wasn't working either. We would stay here again because our dog loved all the open space around the park to run and play, and we had a quiet nights rest. We spent one night here. First the only downsides--a bit out of town; wi-fi was weak (so weak late that I could not use it anymore and had to switch to my air card); sites a bit unlevel (like a typical KOA; dirt/gravel parking spots). Now the pluses--quiet (even though close to the highway, we did not hear it and we had our windows open all night); the Roadrunner Cafe was very good (great value, nothing fancy, but a good amount of good food at a low price--you have to season it, though); grass at the site; the prickly pear cactus was pretty; everyone was VERY friendly and helpful. We stopped here for one night and will definitely stop again on our return trip, probably for two nights. Friendly, clean and well run. Lots of space at each site, easy access. Don't know how they do it but the site is close to the freeway with no noise. Wi-Fi is a bit disappointing but given the location this is not surprising: appears to be a satellite link instead of fiber optic. We stayed here at the beginning of our trip and also on the way home, 2 1/2 weeks later. The campground is clean and well run. With a store available at the office with essential provisions, gifts etc. The pool looked inviting in the 100 degree temperatures, although we didn't get the chance to use it. We have two large dogs, so a trail walk close to the entrance of the park was perfect for exercising the dogs. Wi-Fi was weak, although we weren't too far from the office. There is a restaurant open Friday, Saturday & Sunday's this time of year, we ate breakfast there on our first visit -which was excellent. A positive experience for a one night stopover. Where do we begin. Twenty minutes into our arrival the lights went. It's approximately 330PM and 97 degrees and there is no electricity in the campground. This happened twice in a three hour span. The ground was so unlevel that it had our rig leaning towards the left and I thought it was going to tip over. We were so concerned we retracted them and never even opened our slide outs. The aircard worked very poorly. The only positive of this no frills Campground is the Restaurant. The chicken fried steak and the spare ribs special with the mash potatoes and lemon cake deserve a nine. Its questionable whether or not we would stay here again or not. Good park, overall, considering the location. The sites do attempt to have some grass, but being basically a desert or high desert location, it is really mostly dirt. There are trees, and they are higher than basically any of the RVs, so they do provide some shade. The pads are gravel and are level. The bathrooms were older, but are clean and private. There are even some private tub units for the women, if that is your thing. I would prefer a shower, myself, so I used the shower unit. They are large-- the whole unit, not the shower itself. There were lots of cacti in bloom around at the time. And kitties! There is a cafe, which we ate at. It was out of most of the food we would have wanted to order, but I guess that meant it was popular. The name of the cafe was the Roadrunner Cafe, and as we were leaving we saw a live roadrunner in person! Very cool! The staff was very friendly! And they sold postcard stamps in the office, which I had been looking for all across the country! Would stay here again, if I needed to go through Ft. Stockton for some odd reason! A flat and dusty Texas RV park, pretty nice. I liked the jogging trail. The Wi-Fi was slow. The only over-the-air station we could get was in Spanish. Although it's near the interstate, it's far enough away from any population centers that it was relatively quiet. The pool wasn't heated so we didn't swim. There are 2 sets of bathrooms--one at the office building, which had older bathrooms with tubs in them, and one with individual shower rooms, newer, at the opposite side of the park. We stopped here for an overnight and for that it is adequate. There is no cable TV and only three local channels which were all too weak for our antenna. Also the WI-FI, which is free, is extremely slow. The park itself is fine. It is surrounded by trees and the sites are nice and large. We ate at the cafe. Great RV Park--nothing fancy but clean. A lot of permanent folks, but sites were clean and not cluttered. There is a separate area for overnighters and sites are long enough that unhooking the toad is not necessary. Streets and sites are asphalt/gravel. Sites are wide with a nice picnic table. One of the best things about this park is the great restaurant. For dinner we had ribs, "real" mashed potatoes and beans. Drink and dessert included for $7.95--and brought enough back for another meal. Other entrees are also available. For breakfast the next morning DH had eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee for $4.95. Cannot beat the prices and the food was excellent. Good stopping distance between El Paso and San Antonio. We will certainly make this a stopping point when traveling this road, which we do at least once a year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is OK for overnight. The thing I disliked most was all the dog waste most everywhere. The thing I liked most was the laundry: clean. The washers only $1 but dryers $2, but they get the job done. Showers were very nice. I was told the nearest Super Wal-Mart was 90 miles away but there is a regular Wal-Mart 5 miles from campground. So much for getting supplies here. The grocery store in town was not recommended for stocking up on groceries. Easy access to park. Staff friendly. Sites roomy. Would stay here again for an over nighter. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is situated just off the Interstate and is in a very good state of repair. Nice Layout and has most amenities to include a Cafe which serves good, very reasonable priced food. Has a small store and is about 4 miles from Fort Stockton which has many services and tourist sites. A nice park that was conveniently half way between El Paso and San Antonio. It has gravel sites and roads. It is pretty popular and fills up most nights during the winter season. We use this park for overnighters between Kerrville and Las Cruces. They have a cafe which my wife likes, plus level and large pull through sites. This is an excellent rest stop. Not much freeway noise. We plan to stop again in January of 2010 on our way across Texas. I highly recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our second stay at the Park. We traveled to California from Louisiana and stayed going out as well as the return trip. It's your typical desert style RV Park -- not many trees and lots of gravel, but well maintained. Management was very friendly. They have a cute little restaurant on site if you don't feel like cooking. There is also a hiking trail around the perimeter of the park if you want a little exercise, although there isn't much to see. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the last campground for 200 miles East or West other than some pretty low life ones. It is in a windy, sandy part of Texas with gravel sites and dusty roads. A nice park in the middle of nowhere Texas. About 1/2 way between El Paso and San Antonio. Very nice front desk personnel with a small store/gift shop. We spent the day after Thanksgiving there. Nice park. The trees were shedding leaves because of fall which added to the natural look of the park. The sites were long enough for our rig with truck. Hookups were as promised. The Wi-Fi worked well. Although there was no cable TV I understand it is out in the country. Where is there cable TV in the country. The staff was informative and helpful in all areas. The were very knowledgeable of the area in offered answers to all questions. Very nice dinner and breakfast! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was clean and typically dusty as are most dry-area parks. Our stay on Thanksgiving Day included a free turkey, with all the trimmings, dinner in a very small restaurant next to the office. Expectations were low, but the meal was actually very good. The assigned space was adequate for our 43' rig, but the exit route from our "pull-through" site included some impossible turns. We elected to back out from the space, thereby avoiding the difficult maneuvers. Proximity to the freeway was sufficiently distant that noise was not an issue, even though we had windows open most of the evening. We would stay here again -- even if we didn't get a free dinner. This is a nice park, the interior roads are paved, and gravel sites, table, some grass and trees. The cafe serves dinner (very good mesquite ribs) and breakfast. There is no cable TV but trees are not much of an issue with satellite TV antennas. The site we were in was billed as 60 feet long but our 36 ft motorhome with tow vehicle was very close to the roads in front and behind. The free Wi-Fi has serious slowdown issues in the afternoon when most campers get in and apparently log on. We would use it again for an overnight stop. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice for an overnight stay. The grounds are very well kept and have some nice touches in decoration around the office. I believe we were in site #5 and it was plenty large for a 40' motorhome with 4 slides towing a car. We were able to pull in without unhooking the toad. The cafe was a real plus! We didn't try the dinner but the cooked to order breakfast in the morning was really nice. The staff was also very nice. We will definitely stay here again while driving through Texas. What a pleasant surprise - apparently shedding the manacles of KOA has given the owners an opportunity to improve the park. Sites were long, wide and level (gravel), trees provided shade, and hookups were convenient. The free Wi-Fi worked well until the morning when it disappeared. We only stayed here overnight but the park was well maintained with lots of level sites. It even had trees! It was a little tight because we have 4 slides but it was definitely the best park in that area of Texas. We didn't have a reservation and thought we would just stop somewhere. Well, there isn't many "somewhere's" in West Texas and we were very happy to find a place this nice to stay in. It was right off I-10 but we didn't really hear any highway noise. This park is a convenient stop between no where and nothing you might say. However, it appears that the owners are not putting anything back into the park. There are several pull thru sites that will accommodate the large RV with tow vehicle. The sites are gravel/dirt and some grass/weeds. There are some shade trees. There is a small restaurant that serves dinner/breakfast. We tried the dinner it was OK. There is no playground or dog run. It shows these facilities on the campground guide but they no longer exist. I think the best thing about this former KOA campground is they have a full service cafe (Roadrunner Cafe) serving breakfast and dinner at great prices. Menu prices top out at $8.95. I had the catfish dinner and portions were generous. Their convenience store stocked all of the necessities including beer and wine! The park is quiet and it was easy to get in and out of my pull through space. All sites are gravel, not much shade, but well kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negatives I can comment on is placement of the the sewer hookup which is located far away (to the rear of the sites) from the electric/water hookups. You'll need an extra long hose to reach or you can do what I did...hit the dump station on your way out. Also, they claim to have free WiFi, but while I was there I could never get connected. There is no CATV. Amenities include: pool, playground, horseshoe pit, basketball court, outdoor BBQ pit/patio and laundry facility. Rates are reasonable. Using my Good Sam discount I paid $24.30 for one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I stayed two nights at this campground. The clerk who checked me in was very friendly, knowledgeable and polite. I no longer have a KOA membership mainly because most KOA's charge way too much for their parks. I was given a Good Sam discount and very much appreciated this. I was able to get a good Wi-Fi connection during my stay. The grounds are very clean and I noticed that all the trees have been trimmed to allow for big rig RV's to go in and out. According to their website, it states there is a hot tub, there isn't. We needed a 50 amp site and they stuck us in the back, and the wi fi didn't reach back here. My new computer couldn't pick it up at all. The folks up front were friendly, and park seems to be neat and clean. Voltage was a bit low, and water pressure isn't great. I could have stayed in town for half the money, but my husband wanted to use the hot tub and there wasn't one! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This place was unfortunately our introduction to KOA campgrounds. We camped here on our way to Big Bend, asked about the park and any information they might have. Zilch! No help here, don't bother asking. The restrooms and showers, while large were hammered. Tiles fallen off the wall, moldy mildewed shower curtain, water damaged vanity, rusted fixtures. We have been staying at this KOA since 2001. It is almost always our first and last stop on our trips west. The previous reviews are accurate. The staff is always very nice. The sites are gravel and fairly level. The restrooms are older, but clean. Their trees are finally getting big enough to offer some shade. They used to have a nice little restaurant on site, but the last couple of times we’ve been there it has been closed. Their pool has always looked nice. There is no TV reception. And one other thing: A sign in their office says, “No, the wind doesn’t always blow this hard. Sometimes it blows harder.” Believe it, but it is still a good overnight stop. The young man working the office was super friendly and helpful. He then escorted us to large pull-through in back of park. Everything in the park seems new and well maintained. Each pull-through site has a picnic table and a small privacy fence to hide the utility pole from your neighbor. There is no cable and no over the air TV. There is a very nice "adult" TV lounge behind the office. Nice dog park. The Wi-Fi was not very good but our Sprint 3G worked fine. There was excessive road noise even though we were at the back of the park. This seemed to be the best park in town and is a nice overnight stop between El Paso and San Antonio. Or third stay here and we'll be back. All RV sites are pull-thru's on gravel and well spaced. Power and water pressure was good. Super customer service. Internet was OK but did slow down dramatically in the evening. Our Verizon MiFi worked well in 3g mode. We had only planned to stay one night but after visiting the Old Historic Jail in town, we decided to stay another night and tour Fort Stockton. What is there to see in Fort Stockton anyway? Very friendly and helpful owners that live on site. Liked the park a lot. Very new and improving everyday. Motorhome with car hauler we are 66 ft long and we were accommodated without any problems. Hilltop RV Park. One down side to this park is a lack of phone contact to see if there are sites available. The office is not open during much of the day. Use caution making reservations as there are no refunds. Many parks in this region are near full capacity with construction workers and seasonal visitors. The park has many long term guests, and was 75% full when we stopped at 2PM. Their restroom/shower rate a 10. Wi-Fi is good and over the air TV is adequate. For an overnight stop, we might try another park in the future, as there are others with good reviews, easy access, and at a lower rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We liked this park! Negatives are that it is close to the road and you do get road noise. Another negative is that the gravel roads and sites get a bit dusty. This appears to be a newer park and everything is sparkling clean. There is a beautiful pool, a covered patio, nice laundry area, a TV watching room, and a fire pit area. Each site has a small tree (should be really nice when they grow) a cement patio with picnic table, and sites have small fences between them so you don't have to see your neighbor's sewer hose. The Wi-Fi worked great for us and free DVD use made up for the lack of cable. We found the owner and the office staff to be friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had a great stay at this RV Park. Easy to get to and the staff was SUPER friendly. My daughter and I stayed here on our way to (and back) from the Austin Grand Prix and it was perfect! Would stay here again without any hesitation. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Clean, well maintained RV park. All gravel park, with no green belt and is located close to major interstate, with constant traffic. If you're a very light sleeper, you might want to consider ear plugs. We only stayed overnight on our way to San Antonio, but it met our needs. We arrived after business hours, and had no problem checking in on our own and locating our designated site. Owners were very helpful over the phone and checked on us the next morning. Stayed there one night as a stopover. Although the park itself is OK (clean, level sites, easy accessible) it's not one of my favorites. It's almost only gravel, the vicinity of the interstate makes it quite noisy, there is only one single bathroom (one for men/women each) for the whole campground and my overall impression was that this place is only about making money. Of course there is nothing wrong with having a well going business but this place just looked nu-charming and impersonal. The Wi-Fi was almost unusable at the time we've been there. Positive: they're strict about barking dogs and have a zero tolerance policy about aggressive breeds like bull-terriers and the like. Also their website is up to date. In short: good for a stopover. This is a very clean, well laid-out little park. It appears to be fairly new. The Wi-Fi worked well. Plenty of room for big rigs in designated areas - ours is 40' plus our tow vehicle and we did not have to unhook. Nice patios at each site. The trees will grow in time and like someone else said, this is West Texas and the wind blows. The packed gravel/dirt did not bother us as it was well graded and smooth. The only reason we did not give it a 10 is the fact that there is no cable for TV. We were not able to get any channels with our antenna. We played cards and visited instead! We will stop here again and recommend it to friends. Did not meet owners but spoke to her on the phone - very friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice RV park for a one night stay. It is all gravel but it was neat, clean and had good distances between spaces. There were a number of long term sites but they were all kept neat and clean. The hookups were good and the sites were level. The roads are wide and are easy to around. The check in person was very friendly. It was easy on and off the freeway with very little noise. The park is clean but very dusty. We tried phoning for two days to see if space was available, and even though the recording said to leave your phone number and they would call back, no one had the courtesy of returning any of the calls. We thought that maybe they had phone problems so we went there on a whim anyway. Arrived to find self check-in, at 11:00 in the morning. Tried numerous times to visit with the office, but each time, the door was locked tight as a drum. One RV had a problem with water pouring out but there was no way to contact the park as no one returns calls nor are there emergency numbers posted anywhere. A good place for an overnight stop, but that's it. Never did see the owner(s) even though they supposedly live on the property. It's a shame as it is a quiet park and has lots of potential. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our first time here, and we will be back. The whole park is just packed gravel, and it would be dusty in the wind, but this is West Texas. The sites are long and have room for a little patio and picnic table. Unfortunately we had to unhook to get level. The people are very nice, the place is clean, and the wi-fi is good. They have some small trees planted, but would have done better to make the sites wider and add some native plants for privacy and dust control. No cable, and there are only 3 English-speaking stations. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a new park and very clean. Sites are level and packed gravel. The big rig pull throughs are in the back of the park, at the top of the hill. Gorgeous sunset views! There's a nice little fenced dog area. The big rigs sites were totally booked the night we were there. It's about 1-1/2 miles from I-10 and easy to navigate. The owners live onsite. We would definitely stay here again, what a bargain! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great CG! You can see the love and attention the owners have expended to make it so nice. Not many places to stop on I-10 in west Texas so we were pleased to find this one. Best park in Ft. Stockton! Hilltop owners have done a very, very nice job of creating and maintaining a nice ROOMY RV Park. Sites are level gravel, but just fine. A little dusty, but this park and the owners are nice. They have a standard of nicer, cleaner RV's which keeps the riff raff out and makes the place more upscale and WORTHWHILE. Owners are super nice and friendly and the park is managed in the same fashion. Without a doubt if you have to stay in Fort Stockton, TX this is where you want to be. This newest and quite frankly the best looking facility in town. I drove around to all of them off of I-10 before coming to this conclusion and I’m glad I did. Owners live on site. I would have rated this facility a solid 10+; if they had more than one shower/toilet suite for each sex, and provided cable TV. I was not able to lock in any over the air TV signals at all but they did offer free DVD's for checkout. Mind you these are not major deal breakers, but it would have been nice to have more showers and some entertainment. They are new and growing and I’m sure within time the will continue to evolve. If I ever have to return to this area, this is where I am staying. Hilltop RV is located on the North side of I-10 across from the metal Indian silhouettes on the South side of I-10. Travel safe. This is a great overnight park. They keep it extraordinarily clean. Our AC broke and they were able to call Clawhammer RV & Appliance repair. They were able to come out and fixed it within hours. Were very professional! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a new park in Fort Stockton, and it really is located on top of a hill overlooking the freeway. The entire park is paved, sites are level and wide, hookups and Wi-Fi worked well. There was no cable TV which took the rating down from a 10. There is a nice pool and a circular conversation pit with fireplace to watch the sunsets on chilly evenings. Staff was very friendly and lead us to our site and waited to make sure we didn't need anything else. This would be the place to stay longer if we needed to be in the Fort Stockton area for longer periods. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here a couple of other times and each time the place gets a little better. They only have room for about 6-8 transients, so it would be a good idea to call ahead and make a reservation. This is a good overnight spot while traveling on I-10 (we can’t think of any other reason to stay in Ft. Stockton!). They are located on the north side of the freeway, but access is easy once you know what to do (call for directions as it is not obvious). The sites are level and the utilities are laid out well. Sites are covered in finely crushed gravel - in fact, the whole park is. Management is friendly and helpful. They do have a pool, but we didn’t use it. We would stay here again. We arrived at this location VERY late (1:30 AM). Needless to say nobody met us at the location. We managed to pay (cash) and find a site. The park was VERY clean, sites were level, and we found a pull-through site which made parking very convenient. The restroom was clean and had we been here longer, the pool was sparkling and inviting looking. We have already made notes that this location is on our list of "will do again" spots. Very basic park, great for overnight stop. We've stayed at other parks in Ft. Stockton, this one suits our needs best. They take reservations on the phone, but have a self-check-in, which is easy to use. Didn't use any of facilities, but very well maintained neat place. After a trying day (blowout, 3 1/2 hour wait in 106°) the warm welcome we received here was especially nice. The park is head and shoulders above anything else nearby. The owners have gone to great lengths to make it attractive and functional. The restrooms were immaculate, the grounds were clean, and there is a fire pit in the common area for relaxing together. I was skeptical when assured that the wi-fi would reach my site in the farthest corner. It did and was very good. We would stay here again. Only three things kept our visit from being perfect. The highway noise is significant and incessant. The windy, hilltop location makes for a lot of dust blowing. Even though the brochure talks about nature and sunsets and stars, the obnoxious lighting made that just hype. Lighting directed down around roads and walkways would be nice. No one needs bright lights on 20' poles lighting up their roof and shining in their windows. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Quite a new park so trees still small, but sites are level and it is well kept with a nice atmosphere. Really good Wi-Fi. TV reception poor and very few channels. There is a small TV room with more channels, but still not many. They now employ helpful office staff from 3pm. I suggested to the owner that he make the bathrooms useable by either gender as there is only one for each, and he then told me there are two more bathrooms by the pool. I checked them out and they were excellent. Pool area looked nice, but not yet open. The halogen lighting is over the top, normal street lighting would be better. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Not a bad little desert park but dusty. Pool not heated so not useable in the winter. Sites are really narrow but with a desert setting there is lots of room to maneuver. They have planted trees between sites but in a few years they will impact slide and awning deployment. They are really planted in the wrong place. As others noted the absence of office staff and the sign stating not to pull into a site before registration has sent potential customers down the road. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived on a Sunday and the office was closed. followed the late procedure for getting a campsite (which was very easy). The owners came over before we were set up to introduce them selves and make sure we were settled and to see if we needed anything. The park is has gravel roads and sites. All the hook-ups are close. This is a "do it yourself" park. You call them, get a recording, leave a message and don't get a call back. You locate the place, pull in and the office is closed. There is a self check-in process on the office wall where you pay for your site. Park is generally a big dirt area with some gravel scattered around. Glad we were here when it was dry. Roads are wide and sites in the back row can accommodate a big rig towing. 50 amp power was good. Far enough from I-10 that road noise is not a problem. Has a small swimming pool that looked clean, and a fire pit. There is only one bathroom for each sex to serve the park. No soap in the men's room and it smelled dank like it needed ventilation. I added a point to the rating because the Wi-Fi worked well, even in the back row. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Newer looking park on a level area of ground well outside of town, right near the freeway, very convenient. Very friendly staff, guided us to our site in her new Mercedes. I've been guided in by a lot of golf carts, a few pickups, some vans, but never by an S430 before. A little dusty but all the other campers seemed to understand and drive appropriately. The back row seemed to be for transient campers. All the spots were full by dark, all were empty by 10 the next morning when we left. Good utility hookups. We will stay here again when in the area. We were greeted with the most welcoming RV owner/manager ever of anywhere we have stayed. We were provided a map of the town containing locations of businesses, groceries, dining. The owner offered us DVDs to take to our RV for the night. We were provided a tour of the shower facilities, restroom facilities, laundry facilities and we were escorted to our campsite. Even though it's currently too cold to use the pool, it's a beautiful pool area with lawn furniture and completely fenced. A TV room with satellite TV is also available. All of our site connections were very well maintained and strategically designed for quick and easy connect. All facilities were the cleanest that we have ever experienced. The access from the interstate was very easy and the access into the park was great. The views were beautiful to the west as we watched the sun set over the mountains of west Texas. Late into the evening we had a medical emergency with our dog and the owner contacted the local vet and arranged for an emergency visit for us. The owner even escorted us to the Vet clinic. I would highly recommend this RV Park to everyone and this RV Park will always be our choice when passing through the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is daily rate for 50 amp FHU pull through site. All surfaces, the roads, sites and areas between seem to be composed of the the natural ground surface. Being as to where it is in West Texas, grass is not something to be found. Escort to site. Excellent satellite reception with not a tree in the area. Good Verizon cell and 3G. Park WiFi was very fast and reliable for our overnight stay when the park was full. On the far west side of Fort Stockton, so if coming from the east, get fuel before arriving, or you will be heading back into town when you leave to fuel up. We would stay here again if in the area. We stayed here for two years. We would highly recommend this park for any length of stay. The owners are very friendly, and willing to help any way they can. There are two restroom facilities that are very clean. The laundry room and adult lounge are clean. They also have a fenced in swimming pool. They have a small puppy patch for the pets. There are a few long term residents that are also extremely helpful. Their areas are well maintained and look clean. White rock roads and spaces. Ours was very level and readily accessible to the utilities and sewer. (30 and 50 amp ) We have stayed at many parks across the country, and this is by far one of the best! Spectacular sunsets! Very friendly and helpful staff. Park is basically a large graveled area. When it rains the gravel is of the sort that becomes a kind of mud that gets all over. It rained while we were there. We only spent one night and this would be a good one night stopover place. It is right off I-10 but was very quiet. Close to fuel and food. Wi-Fi was strong. Nice views over the Texas high plateau. We were placed in space 46 which was about as far from the office as possible when there were spaces in closer. The internet was useless, too far from the signal. One antenna station on TV. No one in the office at 4:45 pm when we pulled in. Office did not open in the morning. The ground is a fill that was very dirty, muddy. We signed in for 3 nights stay. The following morning it was 33° and began to snow, making the ground a muddy mess. The only good thing was the staff, whoever she was, was very nice and only charged us for the one night since she hadn't run our credit card yet when we told her we were leaving. If this place had a different ground cover, cable TV and an internet with more bandwidth, we might return, but as it is now we probably wouldn't go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I lived here almost a year and saw the other parks. This is the one to stay at! The hosts are wonderful. My family visited several times and they just loved them. They run a great park and don't tolerate any foolishness. They made my stay more bearable. The sunsets are GREAT. The shooting stars were amazing. There is easy access to I-10 and fuel close by too. Registration was a piece of cake. Owner and his wife met us at the front door, got us checked in and then led us to our site. A large, level pull-through with very good power and water pressure. The park has a lot of rigs that appear to have been here for some time. Some of the rigs are in need of repair and a general cleanup of the park would make for a better appearance. Some road noise. The bathroom was unisex without much air conditioning but quite clean. We did not try the pool. They have a little dog yard that was nice. The reason we stayed in this particular park even though it was a higher rate was because of the internet and the pool. However, the internet is so slow that you can hardly get a page to load. The pool was so cold that you could not even get into it. It was 100 degrees outside, and the pool was still like icewater. Also there is no break from the wind even though you are parked in like sardines. It is on a hilltop, hence the name, with no barriers whatsoever. I would also rather have sand than the gravel mixture of stuff they have there on the ground. It just blows into your hair ,and it's worse than sand to get out. Also it is so bright that it blinds you. We ended up moving to another park that has sand, grass, and internet. We are much happier. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a wonderful place to stop on the long drive through West Texas! The park is clean. The roads, sites and “yards” are all gravel, but this is West Texas. The distance between sites is adequate and big-rig-friendly. Trees are just beginning, so the sites are good for those with roof-top internet satellite dishes. On-site owners are very friendly and we were escorted to our assigned site. Interesting feature–they have a large fire-pit for guests to gather round on cooler nights with concrete benches decorated with historical cattle brands. Nice touch. We are full-time RVers who just stopped for the night, but will always make this a stop on our frequent crossings of this part of Texas. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park will be two years old in August. Three years ago the land was a big, flat rock. It is astonishing what the couple who own it have built in less than two years. It is convenient to the interstate. It sits on a hill with great views, has a grass pet play area, and spacious sites. The couple are the nicest folks you will meet on the road. All previous comments are true! We stayed here due to the positives listed by other RVers. The owners are so nice - I'd have to say this was the first time I was escorted to my site by a Mercedes. Since the owners are on site they come to the office when they see you pull in, that is, they seem to always be available. They even let us borrow a DVD to watch as TV reception was limited due to high winds at the time (could not put the antenna up). Sites 41 - 47 are new and appear to be used for the nightly folks that are passing through. There is plenty of room to navigate a large rig - we are 60' hooked up. The park is all dolomite so if it has been dry there is a lot of white dust that gets over everything, but given all the other positives I would still stay here again. The owners bought the site of an old Taco Shack just outside Fort Stockton to build their residence. RV'ers who stayed on the property when it was a Taco Shack persuaded them to open an RV resort about 1 1/2 years ago. The RV Resort is on a hilltop with a great view of the valley, has full hook-ups. The site is all gravel but is well improved and all sites are drive-thru. Construction is beginning on an activity center and other amenities for the traveler's comfort. The Taco Shack is gone but a nice RV Resort is in the making. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice, relatively new (2 years) campground right off I-10. All pull through sites, including big rig sites. We stayed here in a 40' motor home with a toad. Nice level site, with 50 amp service and very strong Wi-Fi. Excellent place to stay if you are traveling on I-10 between El Paso and San Antonio. I had a very large pull through site, plenty of room for slide outs. The park is gravel but level. With wind there is dust, but then this is west Texas. We selected Hilltop RV from RV Park Reviews on the Internet and were very pleased with the results! We thought we would stay for a month but liked it so much we stayed for 3 months! The owners, are wonderful! They are very customer service oriented and helpful. They started this park not quite 2 years ago and have been adding to it consistently. Being Rv'ers themselves, they know what works best for all of us. All the sites are pull-throughs and all the sites have both 30 and 50 amp service. The sites are level and access is very easy due to the wide roads and spaces. Because it sits up on the hill, even though you can see I-10, the road noise was very low and we were in the first row! The park is new so all the utilities are new as well. The local cable company has not yet extended service to this area so there is no cable TV. However owners, have put in a lounge with satellite access that works very well. The pool is new as of last year and they have included a shaded area adjacent to the pool that is a comfortable spot to sit. Being so new, there are no real shade trees yet but they have planted trees so as soon as they grow there will be shaded sites. This is not a big park, 47 sites, but it is without a doubt the best in the Fort Stockton area. The west side of the park overlooks a large valley and the Fire pit area is perfectly situated to watch the most amazing sunsets! It is a bit windy here because of the hilltop location but this is West Texas and to be expected in this area but that also helps cool it off when the temperatures get high. There are added fun and tasteful decorative touches on and in the buildings that make this park standout. The laundry is clean and has 3 washers and 3 dryers that operate on quarters ($1.50 to wash, $1.00 to dry). Call for a reservation! You will not be disappointed! We will not stay anywhere else in the Fort Stockton area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful spot for "Big Sky" sunsets. Newer park with level, gravel, large pull thru, FHU/50amp and Wi-Fi sites. No cable TV and no antenna reception except in Spanish. Easy on/off I-10. Quiet, above most traffic noise. Spotlessly clean, the owner was even picking up all the tumble weed. Very friendly and helpful owners. Excellent price. Had a great experience at this park. We lost the transmission in our tow vehicle 20 miles from the park. The owners are the nicest, most helpful people I have ever met. They went far beyond my wildest expectations. The park is spotless; the roads and sites are gravel; the spaces wide and the hookups new, clean and easy to use. This park was very clean, the lots are very big and are some of the easiest to get your rig into. It was quiet even though we could see the highway. The nights we stayed the owners lit a fire in the community fire pit, the people were very friendly and went out of their way to say Hi. Extremely friendly camp hosts that went out of their way to offer information about the local area that proved very beneficial in seeing the sites. Very accommodating to let us move to another site to be on the end in the last row and had gorgeous views of some magnificent sunsets. Nice large pull thru sites in the back row, never used the Wi-Fi to know how it worked, but all other utilities worked well. Only complaint for this park would be the gravel and continual dust from the winds. Smaller, hard pack would be better, but the site was very level. Would stay here again and recommend to others. We have stayed in various parks here in the last 20 years and despite my record keeping, it is hard to keep track of who is who. Thanks to this website we ended up here, at Hilltop, and can recommend it as others have. Ft, Stockton RV Park was a KOA 2 years ago and the Wi-Fi was bad. Parkview has declined far it does not offer Wi-Fi. I was willing to give A and M another try but was turned off by the phone conversation. We had a hard time evaluating our stay at this park because there is no one in the office to answer questions and the phone gets you a recorder. Thanks to the reviewers here we stayed the night and can recommend it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent a night here in early November. We arrived at almost dark to find our name and site were posted on a white board in case we arrived after the office closed. Every site is a pull though. The restrooms were clean and access to the highway was easy, but you could hear almost no noise. The pool looked inviting and the owners are very friendly folks. Loved this park for our one night. The owner was gracious and led us to our pull-through site which was plenty large for our bus with car trailer. The sites are gravel and landscaped and the view goes for miles. It is very easy in and out to I-10. Amenities include a pool and beautiful fire pit/conversation area. One year old park with flat gravel over entire site, very easy in/out. Wireless worked well. One set of "one person" bathrooms. We checked out a cheaper place but camped here instead. No discount but less than other places. Has a lending library of DVD's. Laundry clean, and reasonably priced. Puppy Patch for the dog. Sunset was wonderful, with a rainbow at the far end. Park is easy to get to from IH-10. Gravel lot but was smooth and level. Excellent views from the top of the hill. Nothing nearby to obstruct the view. Far back enough from IH-10 to make it difficult to hear any traffic noise. Of the 48 something sites: about 40 of them full of fulltimers. Rear row, furthest away from noise, is reserved for overnighters. Excellent power and water. No cable TV. Only two "English" speaking TV stations on the aerial. Here are the cons. Man, if its windy or if there is a storm coming in: YOU are the tallest structure around! And the wind caused the trailer to rock allot with all the wind. Also, at night, they light this RV lot up like it's LAX Airport. And not with those wimpy 100 watt lights, but with those 10,000 watt Halogen spot beams. I have seen prison yards with less lights on at night. We had to put aluminum foil on the bedroom windows to darken it enough to sleep. Personally, I would suggest that they turn off the 10,000 watt Halogen beams at 10pm and maybe do what every other RV park does: go to a softer, less bright, yellow light for at night. We went to the nice pool. It's not large but was big enough, almost 6 feet deep in parts, super clean and COLD!!! Also there is a giant firepit you can use. Would have given them a 09 if there had been cable TV. The owners live on site in a large house next to the RV site. The woman owner is super nice and she called me twice to make sure that I would be able to find the RV Park and to go over all the amenities prior to my arrival. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here for an overnight stop. The park is easy to get to and has alot of room to move your rig into position for the pull throughs. The view is really spectacular: on a hill top to the west of Ft. Stockton. WiFi is very good. The pool looked very nice but we did not use it. Since this is a new park, all the electrical, water and sewer hookups were excellent. It is far enough away from I-10 so that there is no highway noise. First of all, DO NOT plan on gassing up in Fort Stockton; the prices at all 5 or 6 stations in town are 30 cents higher than anywhere else we were in Texas. This new park is a flat square of clean white gravel with hook-ups on a hill. All pull-throughs, close to the Interstate and a fair price makes it a perfect overnight stop when crossing Texas. This well-laid out park was opened in August, 2009, and is clean and pleasant with friendly, helpful owners. Located outside of town on top of one of the highest hills in the area, the park offers a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside, including mountains in the distant west. The last row in the park is reserved for short-term guests, but is arranged so that access is easy for the biggest rigs. If your rig has a rear picture window, you will look out on natural, undeveloped terrain. Sites are long and wide and are essentially level, but we elected to use one tier of Lynx levelers which may not have been necessary. There is space to park the tow vehicle beside the fifth wheel. Bathrooms are new and clean, but there is one unit for men and one for women, each containing the toilet, shower, and lavatory, so only one person at a time. The bathrooms have no paper towels or soap. Pool appears to be nice, but we did not use it. Attractive landscaping. A nice, fenced dog area. Several small trees that will need a few growing years to make any impact. Being in the last row, I could not get the free w-ifi to work--the connection would come and go. Many long-term residents; but their sites are tidy. We recommend this park and would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a really nice park and is on top of a hill which makes the scenery beautiful! Across the street there were statues of the Buffalo Soldiers. This is a great park for an overnight or longer stay if you like. The other reviews are correct. Owner is work on the swimming pool and it will be ready by late May. Nice fenced in dog run on east side. Bathrooms are unisex and new. Washer and dryers were one dollar each and all new. View from top of this small hill were great. Wal-Mart super store 2 miles away. pull-thru sites in back would fit any size RV unit. Wi-Fi was free and worked well at our site. Found two TV channels over the air and all in Spanish. As the name implies, the park is located on a low hill on the northwest side of Fort Stockton. It is fairly close to I-10, but freeway noise was minimal. It is a relatively new park with immature trees and other landscaping. The park is built on what appears to be a foot or more of finely crushed rock. It is like a large parking lot. None of it is paved. Dust was not an issue when we were here, since it had rained. The crushed rock drained well and only left a small amount of residue on the soles of shoes. They did a nice job on the power pedestals and water connections. However, the sewer inlets are about 6" from the ground level the coach is sitting on. The spaces are fairly large although it was hard to tell where one ended and another begins, no lines. The spaces were close to being level. The night we stayed, we appeared to be the only transient RV in the park (transient spaces are at the back of the park), although it appeared to be almost full. The full-time coaches were generally in good repair and everything was fairly neat. We did not check the showers. The staff was friendly and helpful. WiFi was good (free), but no cable TV. This is a good park for an overnight on I-10 in west Texas. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a new park and is a work in progress at this time. Owner was digging a new pool as we checked in. There are lots of long termers here, but all units were clean and modern so no problems there. Pull through sites where we were assigned, are extremely large and easy to navigate. Site was level, water pressure was good, and Wi-Fi was good. As mentioned by others, this campground sits on top of a hill and sunset was gorgeous. This is a relatively new campground/RV Park. West side of Ft. Stockton. Very Pleasant looking from road and very tidy inside park. There are young trees at each site, swimming pool being installed, laundry etc. and being new is not a destination place nor a "resort which we were not looking for anyway, just a quiet, clean place to get off the road for the night. Some of the reviews are unfair in that it appears the reviewer was looking for a "resort" but this is as nice or nicer than many of the Good Sam Parks we have been in. We were checked in by owner who was very friendly, helpful and escorted us to a very large very level gravel campsite. We didn't even need to use the jacks to be level. All in all this is a very nice place to spend 1 or 2 nites with a beautiful view of the valley on the Westside of the campground. We will not hesitate to return when in this area. This is a nice work-in-progress RV park! There are good signs off I-10 and surrounding roads to find the park. We stayed here 2 nights, and enjoyed our time here. The sites are pretty level, hard packed gravel on a solid rock base. The owners are very friendly, and concerned that your stay is good. They are working on amenities (laundry and swim pool will be available soon) and that will just make your stay better! The RV park is on a hill above the freeway, and the view (especially from the back row) of the area and the sunset is spectacular here in West Texas!! The city of Fort Stockton has an old history, and there is a historic tour you can drive. There are ample places for meals and groceries, and it is a friendly town. Nice high desert campground. We looked at all the choices in the area via this site and Hilltop was the best. It is new so the owners are still building things. One thing was a little confusing. Nearly all the sites in the park point North, except the back row, sites 42-47 where over-nighters would park. This row faces South. Park is located on a hilltop on the edge of town with great views of the desert and great sunsets. Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. The bathroom facilities are clean, but quite limited--a single full bath for men, and a single full bath for women. If you really gotta go, and someone's taking a shower, you'll have to wait. No cable TV but the park is in a great spot for satellite reception and the regular antenna picks up a few stations. Walmart, grocery shopping and restaurants are near by. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an old park that owners were trying to keep up. The bathrooms were clean. We stayed using PPA, which only cost us $10. We paid $2 extra to run the air conditioner. We didn't want cable, but wireless internet. We had the best Wi-Fi of our entire 3500-mile trip. The guy in the office seemed a little serious at first, but after talking a bit, warmed up to conversation. While we wouldn't want to spend our vacation here, a stay for the night was alright. As for the previous review, stickers and thorns are an integral part of the southwest. We would stay here again when passing through. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has mostly long term residents. WI-FI is nonexistent even though they claim its available throughout the park. Could not get cap off of sewer line. When we asked staff for help, was told, "why do you need it anyway, we have shower houses over there?". When we insisted, he came over with a tool to open it. Neighbors said that they had difficulty with getting electricity turned on. Broken glass on campsite and plants with two inch thorns in the parking pad. A poorly adequate campground, OK for a one night stopover, but we were uneasy all night. Gravel, dirt roads and sites, lots of litter in our space (broken glass, bottle caps, butts). Pull through sites share utility poles so you'll be side to side if they were full, but they weren't during our stay. Extra charge for 50 amp service. Rate is PA. Front portion of campground is for travelers, rear has several mobile home trailers. Lots are unkempt. The site we were assigned had power lines that drooped so low that our motorhome would have easily touched them had we entered the site. We took a different site. The new site was so off-level that our rear Atwood leveling jacks topped off while attempting to level and could not be retracted. This required a call to Coach-Net and a service call had to be made to have a mechanic dispatched. When we told the management of our change in sites and our current difficulty with the jacks, there was no response. The grounds are dirt and gravel with trash blowing around. We'll never stay here again and we wish you good luck if you decide to stay there. You'll need it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Well, this is an older park. We paid $10, Passport America and it was worth it. Bathrooms and showers are very tired but clean for how old they are. The lots are big. Cable is excellent, 64 analog and 28 digital. We couldn't get the Wi-Fi where we were but are self contained so we hadn't asked to have it. Check in was friendly. Good one nighter on our way. This is basically a very large, no-frills gravel and dirt lot. Ten bucks cash, pull up to a numbered pole, hook up, level the rig, and there you are. There are no gates or fences, and you can easily drive onto the lot from a side street, so I would rate security as pretty low. I have stayed here twice while transiting through because it's cheap, quiet, and I've never been bothered, so it's worked for me when I'm feeling frugal. My Direct TV and Verizon air card worked fine. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are greatly disappointed as to how we were misled about the rates as this park. We were told $10 to $12 and when we arrived we were told that this applied only to Passport America holders. We never mentioned this in our conversation. The park is VERY complicated to find and was NOT locatable by our Garmin GPS. We were treated like we were stupid on the phone when we call for additional directions. The highway 285 makes an unmarked right turn that you can easily drive past. It is only marked from the opposite (north) direction, and this is VERY hard to see/read. We drove past it twice. The sites need SERIOUS maintenance, (electric boxes all trashed/corroded), sewer connections buried in the weeds, and 80 psi water pressure that we were NOT warned of. We will NOT return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I arrived just before 1:00 in the afternoon after having been told it didn't matter what time I arrived. There was no one at the office and the sign read open at 1:00, check in time is 11:00 NO EARLY CHECK IN, so I drove into the park to be out of the way and walked back to the office. Definitely only a stop over park. One night is about all it's worth. Lots of road noise and traffic driving through rather fast at times. Office person was borderline rude, didn't seem very thrilled to have his Saturday "bothered" by us paying customers. Wires above site bounced in the wind all night so much so my wife thought they'd hit the top of the trailer. Think one of those Christmas tree lots with poles stumped in the ground everywhere and wires going from pole to pole. Next time through we'll look elsewhere. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Plus the sites are wide as well; easy in/out (even for a 45' + TOAD); water/sewer fine; owner was pleasant. There is no aesthetic appeal to this campground but it is conveniently located to I-10 and for one or two nights it's OK. It looks very rough. I would not stay here for an extended period of time. We had full hookups but the electric, when tested, showed an OPEN GROUND on 30 amp service - beware! Check before you connect! 50 amp service is at an additional charge. Sites are pull-through, dirt and are tight. Water pressure was sub-standard - had to use the rig's internal water pump to boost pressure to adequate levels. Sewer was adequate. There is NO over-the-air TV reception - satellite only. Verizon cell phone and Internet air-card reception was adequate. We stayed here as Passport Members. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We only camped here for one night enroute to the Fredericksburg area. This campground has an ugly appearance but our pull-through site was very spacious. Biggest complaint was that the sewer backed up when we unloaded our gray water. This is a Passport America park and the low price was our main reason for staying here. We read the reviews on this one, but wanted to give them a chance. Big mistake. It's worse than others have stated. It's a big dust bowl. What site there is, is full of cement blocks with metal pipes sticking up out of them. We had to call for better directions and the young lady was rather rude. When we followed her directions and got lost, we had to call back. On the second call she was really nasty. However, when it came to taking the money for the site she was oh, so friendly. If we weren't so tired we would have gone on down the road. We will certainly pay more attention to others comments from here on. We camped here, one night only, in June 2009. This is a "Passport America" (PA) Park. Regular rate is $20, PA rate is $10, plus $2 for Electric, plus $2 for cable. Also, a $2 fee if you want to wash your rig. How it got into PA is unknown to us. The PA directions were wrong. I had to call to find out how to get there. Once there, we took one look and left. It is in a less than desirable part of town. We stayed at this park on our way through Texas. It is by far the worst campground we encountered on our trip to California from Florida. The bath faciltiy is anything but clean or private. The little shelters over the broken picnic tables were in deplorable condition. The condition of the sites were horrible with trash and broken glass all around. The rate I listed is Passport America with 30 amp service with no cable. All upgrades are sold separately. This is a very, very dusty park. We experienced very high winds while we were there so it seemed we were always chewing grit. Spaces are close together but fairly long. The park is adequate for a one night stop but I would not want to stay longer. There are a large number of older, poorly maintained rigs and construction barracks type units. I would not feel safe walking around the park by myself. The sewage pipe was plugged with a piece of driftwood. Fuel in the Fort Stockton area was the most expensive that we bought in a 600 mile trip. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The $11 Passport America rate gets you a long level pull-through with 50 amp full hookups. 30 amp sites are $9. Access is very easy for big rigs. Free WiFi that worked just fine at our site makes this an even bigger bargain. The laundry was clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Passport America rate is $9.00. No amenities. Pull thru's. Stopped here before. Quiet at night. No overhead lights - so its dark for sleeping. Not the most secure feeling place. We are here on Thanksgiving and wanted to go out for dinner (nothing going on in the Park). Town was absolutely shut down, Nothing open. In spite of negative comments, its a cheap stopover on the way south. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We came to this park with a mechanical problem on a Friday afternoon. The campground owner could not have been more helpful. But for his cheerfully given assistance, we would have missed our appointment in Kerrville the following day. Super nice folks like this need our support so I hope that anyone needing a quiet place just far enough off the I-10 not to hear it will patronize this park. Very highly recommended. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Don't stop here if you want a pretty park. It is a wide open field with no amenities. But considering where you are in Texas, it is good for a cheap one night stay. We have been here before and knew what to expect. We wanted a level spot easy to get into and then go to sleep. A Passport park ,but they charge extra for 50 AMP. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park was on open, flat, sandy ground. All of the sites were pull throughs. The sites share the utility poles with on other site. We enjoyed the road runners that ran through the campground each morning. This is a great park for a one or two night stopover. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy in and out, wide pull thru sites. There were a lot of stumps from dead trees and the whole campground had a bit of a run down feeling. But the sites were level, the staff was pleasant. Okay for an overnight stay, but not a destination place. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park advertises a pool, however it is an above ground type and there wasn't any water in it. The campground has a dilapadated feel to it. Thankfully we were spending one night. We would have looked elsewhere if staying in Ft Stockton longer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a Passport America park. It is not really a very well maintained park, but OK for an overnight stop when traveling I-10. Roads are gravel & wide enough for big rigs, no trees. They put overnighters at the front in pull thrus near the highway. Sites are gravel/dirt and level with some side by side hookups. At least half the park is permanent residents. We camped here in a Motorhome.

They stated in the paperwork they handed out that they had a pool. I looked out the window of our motorhome wondering where it was, and saw a Doughboy Pool in a dirt field! I was curious because they advertised that they charged 25 cents to use it! We were parked in a large dirt field a short distance away from the "Pool." I would never stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
