Very well maintained park with a very helpful staff. This was just a shakedown trip for a new trailer so it's unlikely we will be here again. I had some Wi-Fi issues, but it worked fine for my wife. Has lots of shade trees. I would highly recommend this park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is better than many KOAs. Sites vary in length, but there are sizes to accommodate any size rig with easy in and easy out. Sites are clean and spaced well apart with grass between. Some sites have trees. Clean bathrooms, but each contains the toilet, shower, and lavatory, so only one person at a time. Trash is picked up at each site. Wi-fi signal is strong, but speed is slow. Cable TV is limited: ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, TNT, Discovery, and Weather Channel, but the Weather Channel does not give forecast for this specific area. Nice pool and playground. Friendly staff. This park is in a mostly rural area outside of town. There is a lot to see and do in the area, so do your homework to choose what you like--you can spend two or three days. President Lyndon B. Johnson’s ranch is a ten-mile drive from the campground and is an interesting tour, but arrive early (before 11:00 a.m.) and plan to spend at least three hours to see everything. We recommend this campground and would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Located on Highway 290, this park is 5 miles east of Fredericksburg and 12 miles west of the LBJ Ranch. Roads and pads are gravel. Access is good and sites are long enough for a 43' motorhome with toad. It has a huge dog walk area. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The area is very quiet with lots of shade (although you can ask for a site for antenna and satellite use). Only downfall was the cable TV hookup did not work well. Otherwise this was a great place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here partly because of the reviews on this site. We were not disappointed! Friendly and helpful owners and staff. In fact we had intended to stay only 3 nights, and ended up extending twice to stay a whole week. About 5 miles from Fredericksburg, but only seems like a couple of miles. Magnificent Live Oak trees. Would definitely stay here again, and recommend the park highly. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a scenic rural setting 5 miles east of Fredericksburg. Owner/managers are friendly and maintain excellent control over the park. Restrooms have been recently upgraded. WiFi worked well; cable TV reception is limited. Sites are a bit small, especially when the CG is full. On-site RV dealership does not infringe on the CG. Would definitely stay here again, and have in the past. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We liked this KOA so much that we returned a week later after a rally in Kerrville! The friendly staff got us the same exact site we enjoyed the first 10 days and ended up staying an additional 10 days! Handy for visiting the town, it is a quiet park under the graceful trees! We would return the next time through this area of the Hill Country. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I have been in many KOA parks and this with out question one of the nicest. Super clean facilities and unbelievable staff. Well worth the price. Great new owners and some great changes coming. Keep up the good work. We camped here in a Motorhome.
My wife and I had the great pleasure of staying at this RV park. We were in site L-5 and loved that area, with all the trees. We have been RV'ing for a number of years, and have never been all that fond of KOA parks. Most of them are cookie-cutter with no personality, the park or the employees: not so with this facility. Everything was well maintained and the personnel were all very friendly. We had an issue with two cable TV channels that stopped working. I mentioned it to one of the staff while walking my dogs. The next morning we had all channels! By the way, our beagles also loved your park! Rest assured, the next time we are in that area (probably Spring 2010) we will be making reservations to relax under your beautiful oaks! Thank you again, and keep up the great work! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Truly enjoyed this campground. Very helpful front desk, grounds clean, sites level, all one would need. Just outside of town. Will be back here on our next run through. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Pro's: Courteous, friendly, accommodating staff. They escorted us to our site using a golf cart and picked up the trash set out in front of your site by 10:00 AM. Clean, well maintained with a strong Wi-Fi signal. New owners sell and service RV's. They replaced a hail-damaged vent lid for me the same day I asked and for a very reasonable price. Park is located in the middle of many places to go. Gas and diesel fuel station and convenience store across the street. We will definitely return to this KOA. Con's: Only 8 cable TV channels. If you have a digital TV you'll probably get more using your antenna. The adult clubhouse was closed for renovation but will probably be nice once it reopens. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow! What an amazing change. I have been to this KOA previously and was treated very rudely by the former owners. I had been told by friends it had changed owners. The new owners are great and the grounds are immaculate. I will never stay any where else if I am even close to this park. It has good Wi-Fi, a pool and the cleanest facilities you will find. Also has level, gravel sites, is wide and has lots of mature trees. A real gem. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent and friendly staff! The sites in the back are very shady which was a blessing since it was extremely hot while we were there in July. This was a nice and quiet RV park. Not too many permanent residents and grounds were spotless. WiFi was very good and reliable. Park is around 3 miles from town and easy in and out for long rigs. We will definitely stay here again this winter! I looked at the other RV parks around town and this is hands down the best of the bunch. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A bit dusty, could have more grass! Office closes at 5:00!!! A bit too early! Only four miles from Luckenbach and Fredericksburg! If you stay here check out the animal park behind the campgrounds! Monkeys and other exotics! Even better, in the evening after everything in Fredericksburg is closed, take a ride down to the old railroad tunnel and preservation site and watch the bat flight. Over 3,000,000 bats exit the abandoned RR tunnel every night at dusk and it is an awesome site!!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here three nights. We first set up right by the road and we felt it was to noisy. We then walked around the campground and found the back part of it much more quiet and more spread out. We camped in M-4, and it was right up against the fence to an exotic animal pasture. The bathroom in the outer area seemed fairly new and very clean. Luckenbach Texas is right down the road with live music daily. The folks were friendly here as well. They also did not want to charge for the kids. I liked that concept and hope it catches on to other KOA's. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I found this park to be not only the nicest park in the area but also one of the nicest KOAs I've been to. Because the park is outside the city, it does not have perfect TV or Wi-Fi but we were more than willing to accept this as the park is so beautiful & so much unlike other parks that seem like a parking lot - lots of mature trees, grassy areas, dark & quiet at night. While we were there, we met the new owners & their staff & they are great, Fun people! It is very clear that these people take pride in their park & want their visitors to enjoy their stay with them. They not only welcomed my dog but got to know him personally! We will positively work this campground into our itinerary next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very nice KOA, but like many KOAs, this park stacks you into neat little diagonal rows with only a few feet between you and the next trailer. There wasn't even room for a picnic table in our site. Don't camp here if you want to feel like you are camping, but only if you want to feel like you are staying in a Comfort Inn in a nice resort town. Only complaint about the service: the WIFI had been out for 5 days, but the management still gave us a code for it and failed to say that we would be wasting our time trying to access the WIFI. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We initially reserved for two nights but extended to five. Much to do in the Fredericksburg area and this is the best campground in the area. It changed hands during the last month. It was purchased by a RV sales and service company on the other side of Fredericksburg. The new owners are doing a lot in the park. It is very clean and spaces are wide and comfortable. Cable and WiFi worked great. There is an exotic animal ranch next door with some very interesting animals to view. The people were very friendly and helpful as to things to see and places to eat. Great German food in the town. Lots of shops and a huge flea market the third weekend of each month. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Price reflects $4 for each of our two kids, which I thought was pricey. The park was nearly deserted when we were there, it seemed pretty nice, long and wide sites. The staff were very friendly, and filled our propane tank instantly for us. We were fairly near the playground, so the kids got to go play while we set up, which always makes it easier. The park is very convenient to downtown Fredericksburg. I wish we had had more than one night. I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A very nice KOA on the eastern outskirts of Fredericksburg. The staff is friendly. We were led to our site and assisted with set up. The clean, wide gravel sites have some shade. The restrooms were very clean. The park was essentially full for the weekend. Many of the sites were occupied by bikers due to an event in nearby Luckenbach and there was some noise from their bikes. When the weekend was over, the place cleared out and became much quieter. I would recommend this park for staying the enjoyable Fredericksburg area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Wanted to stay at the municipal park but it was booked. Pleasantly suprised. Best KOA I've been to. Clean, decent size sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park was very nice and management was very friendly. We had a long pull thru and our stay was great. One of the better KOA's I've been in. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We have a dually/36' high-profile fifth wheel. Our pull-through site was good although some levelling required. Pristine park and well maintained. Comfortable country feel to the park and would use again, even though a bit expensive. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
One of the nicer KOAs that we've stayed at. Sites were large, with grass and shade trees. Tons of stuff to see in the area. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed here a couple of days and saw the sights in the area and took in some great German food. The staff were very helpful with directions and good places to eat. Campground was quiet even with it being just about full. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We were here for a rally, along with 12 other units. Would strongly recommend this park for anyone visiting this area. The owners managers were just great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice KOA located east of Fredericksburg. We were placed in a nice location toward the back of the park under some large trees. The trees were all trimmed high enough for any rig. Exotic game keeper next door with various african game and lemurs to see across the fence. No noise to speak of, animal or road. The park owners were extremely nice and helpful. In noticed them patrolling the park regularly, always with a smile and a wave. We have stayed at other parks in the area but have decided this will be our park in the future. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a nice campground with easy access to the town of Fredericksburg. It is not walking distance to the town though. My site was basically level, but not paved. The staff was very helpful. My only complaint is that it is next to a major intersection of Hwy 290 and another highway in which made for a great deal of road noise. It was not just cars and trucks making the road noise a problem. It was the loud (very loud) motorcycles cruising around. Nothing on the road is louder than a Harley. At nightime however, it was quieter as much of the bikers were down for the night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the best park we have stayed in. The owners really take care of their customers. There is plenty of shade at almost all of the sites. The sites are wide and easily accessible for any type of rig. They always guide you in and make sure that all hookups are situated for the best possible stay. The grounds are always kept up and free of litter. They are very pet friendly, but enforce people picking up after their pets. They have several spots where litter bags are available for your pet droppings. We have stayed at this park several times and plan on coming back for many more stays because of the great facilities and excellent mangement. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a rally of 8 travel trailers, and staff accommodated us in a great part of the park, with lots of shade and an empty site for our dinner. Staff was also provided packet on touring the area and recommended a good restaurant. Park had the feel of a state park. Wi-Fi worked great, even in the back of the park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very helpful staff, clean facilities. We arrived to a pull through sight, we have a 30' Jayco Travel Trailer. Trash pick up at your sight everyday. Pool was closed when we were there. Hey just a few miles away from Lukenbach, nice little area to hang out, enjoy a few beverages and listen to some music. Wireless signal was good for us. Our sight had a picnic table, which I think most did. Tent campers are located on the outskirts of the park. Very close to stores, restaurants, etc. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is the best KOA I've ever stayed at. Spacious sites, free WIFI recently installed and very well managed. I would drive out of my way to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Wonderful park & hosts/owners! We have stayed here numerous times & it is our Fredericksburg campground of choice. Well tended pool, nice laundry room, clean bathrooms & wonderful playground for kids. Owner guides you to your site. Campground is very secure! Along the back fence you can view farm animals & some exotic animals. Owners are very responsive, helpful & honest. Campsites are extremely clean & all hookups are in top notch order. Campground is quiet & located just outside busy Fredericksburg & is also just a few miles from Luckenbach. Very convenient to Texas Hill Country & numerous wineries. We recommend reservations. Very nice campground! We'll be back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The manager escorted us to the site and and then came back by to make sure everything was okay. Very quiet and the restrooms and showers were extremely clean. The children enjoyed the playground. Would definitely go back again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We love this park. The bathrooms are very clean. The owners were friendly. Our awning was damaged by wind and they offered to help and then inquired later about it. The pool is small but perfect for kids. Their are many beautiful hill country trees. The back shares a fence with a neighboring wildlife farm. Kids love to go back and watch the animals. Fredericksburg is about 5 miles west. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice country setting. The pool is small. We have stayed here several times. The newest owners no longer provide the pancake breakfast. The last time we tried to stay in their cabin, they said that the linens were not provided. She said we could go down to the Wal Mart and buy some. We left and stayed in a motel for around the same price. We have enjoyed staying here in our popup. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Excellent check in, great staff is very efficient and friendly. All pull throughs with minimal overhead problems. Plenty of room. Just be careful to obey "nothing on the grass" rules. They stress that. Better to keep your bare feet off the grass because it is filled with grass burrs. They are prevalent all over that section of Texas. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The staff was great. Lots are good size and level. We had an end lot which was huge. Very convenient to town. Great little restaurant right next to the park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This quiet park was perfect for us. It has wide level sites made of hard packed gravel, which face N/E away from the afternoon sun. We had enough room for our 42' MH and a truck in the site. The staff is very friendly, helpful and always seem to be busy keeping the grounds clean. The park has nothing for children to do, and that keeps the numbers very low. Our six day stay was filled with golf, 1 mile away; and hundreds of miles of motorcycle riding countryside. The town itself is 2 miles away for shopping, etc. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park and the owner are great! To get here you have to go down Main Street. If you are arriving at a busy time this can be hazardous because of all the pickup trucks angle-parked. Go slow and take your half out of the middle. If you have dogs, watch out for the stickers. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park close to downtown Fredericksburg. Friendly staff, level site, easy access in & out and we would gladly stay here again if in the area. Sites are relatively close together but not a problem as we were spaced out nicely. Free ice machine, as mentioned in a previous post, was a nice plus. Nice little fenced in dog play area at the back of the park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice campground, very clean and neat, helpful staff, quiet. About 1/2 mile to Main Street in Fredericksburg, easily within walking distance but limited sidewalk availability. All sites are pull-throughs and have full hookups. There is a concrete pad with a wooden picnic table on each site. Our site was close to the sites on each side. If we would have opened our awning, it would have almost covered the next site's sewer connection. This was not a problem for us as we spent most of the time out sightseeing. One great thing: the park has a huge ice machine, like a hotel might have, and the ice is free for the taking. We really liked that feature! Did not use the bath/shower facilities but if the condition of the rest of the park is any indication, they are probably spotless. All in all, this is a great park to use as a platform for seeing all the sights of Fredericksburg and the surrounding area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
With so much to see and do in Fredericksburg Texas, we stayed here 3 nights. This is a jewell of a park located in the town area with very easy access. Hookups are well located, power and water service were both very good. Level parking on gravel and plenty of room for slideouts and maneuvering. This is one park we will place on our keepers list. We (I) locked ourselves out of the RV and access to our cell phones, credit cards and roadservice card, DUH! The two ladies in the office went out of their way to help us with our problem. For that we can't thank them enough. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is very convenient to downtown Fredericksburg. The sites are a decent size with a patio and table and some grass. There are trees on each site but they aren't too large. The parking areas are red shale which tends to track inside. I believe this park is quite new. The bathrooms are all purpose private and very nice. It's always nice to have the whole room to yourself. There is a community room and nice laundry room with reasonable rates. One caveat...we were in front of the washroom/laundry room/hall building and people in other sites had no problem just wandering through our site whenever they wanted, even knocking over one of my plants in the process. Good manners seem to have died. The office staff were nice and accommodating. Verizon worked well here. The Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. Lots of channels on the cable. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice quiet park with very friendly owners and staff. The bathrooms were very clean. Has level, gravel sites with lots of room. It's close to town. The Wi-Fi and cable TV worked great. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I was only able to secure a site in the "Overflow" section so had a back-in site with 30 amp, which was adequate. It also saved me $10 per night. The staff was friendly and had helpful printed matter re local attractions and maps available at check-in. The bathroom and showers were exceptional. There were 6 uni-sex baths with toilet, sink and shower in each. They were kept immaculate. There was also a good-sized laundry with several machines, that was kept very clean. I would be happy to stay here again, but would not attempt to come through town again, in an RV on a Sunday afternoon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was close to town, clean and comfortable. We had a pull-through site. My only complaint was the Wi-Fi. It was so slow that it was unusable: very frustrating. Otherwise, this park was fine. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a well laid out park, easy to get in and out of. It is the closest to downtown, an easy walking distance. No traffic noise. Interior roads are paved and the pads are gravel: no dust. Looking at the slope, my guess is that it drains well in the rain and would be a good stopover in wet weather. About 90% of the park is seasonals, but because of the "10 year" rule, you would never guess. Full hookups were flawless. Wi-Fi was slow. They have a small, fenced dog park but no other amenities. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is possibly the best park in or around Fredericksburg. Very clean, easy to find, easy to get into and convenient to downtown. It's not the cheapest, but certainly not the highest. Still good value for the price, level, good hookups and very helpful office staff. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We enjoyed our stay here immensely, they had a nice pond with fish to look at and a swing. It was a very relaxing atmosphere, but we wish there was more of a play ground for the kids. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park is close to downtown and has everything in town anyone will need. The attendants in the office were very helpful and the office and all the facilities were very clean. They have a laundry and recreation hall that is simply beautiful, and they played games and cards and did crafts. This is a great place to spend the winter and everyone was friendly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A clean and well laid out park with easy access to and inside park. Sites are spacious with hook ups conveniently located. Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. Good TV but wi-fi is slow. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is one of the cleanest, well kept RV park we have experienced. It's very neat and friendly. We stayed an extra night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our visit was very pleasant staff very helpful and courtous. As with other posts we also had the dog talk, as we walked to the doggy relief area my 7lb Maltese watered a tree. I think the doggy police were just waiting for an indescression. We will stay here again it is very nice, clean, and convenient. Not within walking distance to the town area as we had thought but close enough. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pulled into this campground after office hours, there was a map posted of available sites to take without reservations. Paved roads without speed bumps, cute road names within grounds, well lighted sites, level crushed rock sites, some shade as trees are growing larger, large laundry room, small dog run in back of park, nice pond with sitting area. Office staff very friendly and helpful. We had a tire incident the day before and the office was able to direct us to Stroeher & Olfers Inc for help. The campground is new and kept up nicely, we would love to come back and spend more time here touring the beautiful town of Fredericksburg. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed at this park three nights in the past week. It is a very clean and neat park. All of the sites are pull throughs on crushed rock. Patios are concrete. Nice trees at almost every site. The laundry room is very well equipped with up to date machines. The water is run through a water softener prior to washing the clothes. There are permanent residents toward the back of the park. They were very neat and clean sites and most had pretty plants. I got tickled reading a previous post by a lady that had an encounter with the work camper when her dog "watered" a tree. I must have encountered the same work camper because one of my dogs fertilized the grass by one of the empty sites. I picked it up of course. His point was that other canines can smell it and they want to mark their territory there also. I had to agree with him. They have a dog park and areas around the outskirts of the park for the dogs to do their business. The workcamper was very courteous about it and after all I am a guest in this park. The park is in a great location right in the city of Fredericksburg on a city street and not next to a highway. There is very minimal road noise. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice park, exceptionally clean and well maintained. Staff generally polite on check; in the process was smooth and courteous. Bathrooms clean although the floors did not look too sparkling although maybe it was the tiles, but they looked as if they needed better cleaning. One disturbing aspect was the male workamper reprimanded my wife for allowing our Labrador for urinating on a tree. Gee, it's only water what harm does it do, but I guess we are the guests and he's told what to do, although it did mar our visit and that was a shame. Otherwise our rating would have been higher. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Very nice park close to the Main street of town. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff. At times had some problems with the Wi-Fi. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Have stayed previously several times and have always enjoyed it. Many permanent RV's living year round with mega junk scattered around their sites. It's a definite turn-off!! Owners have seemingly wiped their hands clean of the situation. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Our fault. We did not have prior reservation. BUT, our site STUNK. We have moved the tow vehicle twice so far, so that other travelers could enter. The site is only large enough for an 18' trailer of some sort. Much less anything larger. Could be a nice park. Folks are friendly, but the park would get a one on a scale of ten from me. Their website scared me, but it was late when we got here and I was tired. I should have kept driving. Very unhappy weekend. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very clean, friendly park. Easy to maneuver with big rig. Very close to all attractions. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice park. Staff very helpful. Sites are large and easy pull through. We stayed 3 nights. Will stay again when we come back to this part of Texas. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here because the Oakwood park was full. This park is in town and close to the square. Front office staff was friendly and helpful. The site was level, however, the ground sewer outlet was higher than the connect on my rig. We noticed a strong odor of diesel fuel during the whole week we stayed here. The park is bordered by a mechanics garage, a transformer storage yard for the local electric company, and a vacant property loaded with rusting metal scaffolds. Road noise was minimal. My small dog contracted a bad case of diarrhea during our stay here. The local vet thought he picked something up on his paws in the park. I think we'll avoid staying here in the future and try one of the other parks outside Fredericksburg. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very well managed and maintained RV park. We were just staying for the weekend and the park was completely full. The first two rows are full temporary stays and everything else is monthly. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Great campground, especially great price with full hookups. Note: they only accept cash or checks, no credit cards. Most sites were paved except the back strip. If you want paved, request it. Campground is on the edge of town. It will definitely be our 1st choice when staying in Fredricksburg! We loved it! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Pretty good place to stay in Fredericksburg. Wi-Fi is free, it's got a few basic cable TV channels, local and national. Very well kept campground and restrooms/showers were spotless. They have game rooms and other things but we didn't use them. The pool is nice, but being the temperature was 29 degrees over night and highs in the 50s that weekend we stayed where it was warm. Plenty of space, we have a 33.5' fifth wheel and maneuvering the park was a breeze. All the sites appear to be gravel and have picnic tables as well. Cable TV worked, water pressure good, no funny taste in the water. Right next to a gas station and convince store, but Super WM and HEB were just minutes away. Trade Days, which occurs the the third weekend every month is just minutes away as is Wildseed Farms and load of downtown shopping, wine tasting and eating. The owner is the kind of guy you want to meet at every park you go. He was super friendly and knowledgable about the area, but not over bearing and, "in your business". Trash pick-up at your site. Another plus, he doesn't really push all the KOA advertising on you, and believe it or not he did honor GS club. We will be back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
5 for the cmpground/ 1 for the area. Very clean campground. Rates advertised are lower than are charged. That doesn't seem right. Campground is quiet, but the area is far from quiet. Every night either the fragrant cattle pens two blocks away are loudly doing something "cattle" or the VFW next door is broadcasting loud music until after midnight. The main street is close and has lots of loud vehicles. Owners are nice. Prefer to stay somewhere else next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Level parking, some shade. Camp is close to town, quiet. It has a table on concrete at each site. Grass is sparse, driveway is gravel. We will stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is very convenient to Fredericksburg. There are large shade trees. The sites are gravel with some grass/weeds. The sites are pull thru and convenient for a motor home or 5th wheel. They are somewhat narrow though. The grounds are well kept and there is a pet run and small lake area. Unfortunately our pet "Sammy" a Havanese got lots of stickers from the grass/weed area. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again when visiting Fredericksburg. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was our first visit to Fredericksburg RV Park and we enjoyed our stay. The rest rooms and showers were clean and private. Our gravel pull-thru site was level. Because we were with a group, we used a private activity room which was very nice. The campground front desk manager was accommodating and helpful. The park location is ideal...close to town, Wal-Mart, etc. Aside from the music playing all night by a business next to the park, our visit was great! We will stay at this park during future visits to Fredericksburg. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park about a mile from downtown. Gravel, level pull-thru sites. Full hookups w/ cable. Some sites are a little close together. Patio & picnic table right next to the adjacent RV. Staff was very nice and friendly and efficient. Would definitely camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We love this campground. Level sites, quiet, friendly, helpful staff, pull thru sites, good location, etc. Fredericksburg is a unique little town with the Nimitz Museum as well as other museums to see. We will come back here. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
This is one of the nicest RV parks I have ever stayed in. The clerk on duty was very helpful, polite and courteous. The sites are immaculate, as is the whole park. I walked around the park and there were many long-term people living there - these were all nice looking RV's and not some of the "older" type campers you see in other parks. They do have Wi-Fi, but I had difficulty in getting online. When I did get online, the service was extremely slow. If the Wi-Fi service was better, this park would definitely rate a "10". I definitely would stay here in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here as part of the Fiesta Campers RV Christmas rally. The park was immaculately clean. They have a rec hall for everyone, and a separate rally hall. This way the rec hall is still available to non-rally campers. The bathhouse has private restrooms with a toilet, sink and shower – all immaculately clean. The laundry room had 8 washing machines and 6 dryers. There is a pet walk. Family and pet friendly. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Easiest set-up we've ever had! Site (29) was level front to back and side to side. Clean, well run park near the middle of town. Management was pleasant and helpful. We're here for Thanksgiving week and the park is having a Thanksgiving lunch tomorrow....can't beat that! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park is very clean and wide pull throughs. Had difficulty leveling becasuse sites are not level side to side, and front of site runs down hill. Staff friendly and provides maps and lots of information on sites to see. Had a truck storage yard next door with trucks starting and stopping during the night so this got to be a nuisance. Showers and laundry are very clean and there is a free ice machine. Discount with Good Sam' is $27. Power is good and has more tv chnnels than you can imagine. WI-FI is adequate. A better value is Lady Bird Johnson Park 2 miles away. Much more shade. It has cable and sewer but no WI-FI. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A good place to stay when exploring the Fredericksburg area. All pull-thru sites, full hook-ups, 68 cable channels, and very clean bathrooms and showers--and all at a reasonable price. We would definitely come here again when in the Fredericksburg area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice place if in the Fredericksburg area. Centrally located to most anything that you might need. Big Rig friendly. Would definitely recommend it to stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a fairly young ordinary RV park with spaces reasonably sized. It is not luxurious, nor would I describe it as a destination park. When the trees mature, there will be more shade available. This is the closest park to downtown Fredericksburg. We found the office staff very friendly and helpful. This is a winter Texan park with nearly all spaces filled for this coming winter. Cable TV has recently been upgraded to digital, and we found the Wi-Fi somewhat slow and spotty. All in all, a good place to stay while you enjoy the surrounding area. L B J golf course is only 3 miles away! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park close to downtown Fredericksburg. We were there for a club rally and the staff was very accommodating. I think it could use a pool though. The Wi-Fi was sporadic needed constant resetting at the office. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Good directions to campground and entrance sufficient to park for registration. Efficient office. Access roads a little narrow. All sites are pull-thrus of fine gravel with concrete patios. The sites are full hook-up including cable but are quite close together in serried ranks. There was many Winter Texans. Little ambience to the campground, could have done with some trees or foliage plants along perimeter of site. Close to Fredericksburg. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Gravel, fairly level sites. Grass and some trees between closely placed sites. Park was full most of the time with many repeat "winter Texans". A lot of full time residents, but park was clean and quiet and friendly. Rate reflects monthly rate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here during the "Night In Old Fredericksburg" festival, which was down town. We had read that it was within walking distance from down town. Another review said it was 1 mile. It was actually 1.25 miles. Going to town was all down hill. Coming home was all up hill. I figured it was good exercise. It definitely wouldn't be for everyone to walk. The campground host gave us a business card of a taxi service if needed. The campgrounds were very well kept and clean. The trees are young and provide very little shade. If you're planning to hang out at your trailer all day, you may want something a little more scenic. If you need a convenient, safe and clean place to stay with great customer service, I highly recommend this place. There is a miniature golf course next door. They were very accommodating for a late check out. They offer coffee every morning in the office for all guests. We will definitely go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice clean park, nice helpful staff. Inside Fredericksburg city limits 1 mile from downtown. Easy in and out. All pull-thrus. Gravel site with concrete table area. Sites a little close together, but not real bad, and no pool. No other negatives. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park is very clean and well maintained. WiFi is free for now. Sites are a little close together, but not too bad. Laundry room is very functional, 8 washers and 8 dryers. No wait. Park appears to be about 30% occupied right now. Things might change when the park fills up. Very friendly management. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice Park - Long Level (FLAT) pullthrus. Very friendly. Lay out has bath house in the
middle so it is accessible by all easily. Large clean laundry room. WIFI available for a fee thru the local telephone company. Enjoyed our stay and will probably return. Note: Cell service by Cingular was poor - that is the area's problem not the campground's. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here based on consistent positive reviews. Our experience was not a 10! The place
is new, and is clean, but it's basically a gravel parking lot on a barren landscape. Only very immature trees, so there's no shade, which must be terrible in the Texas summer. Also, the surrounding area is industrial and ugly. While this is in town, it's not within walking distance of anything. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great place. It is very conveniently situated for vacationing in Fredericksburg. Nice wide, level, gravel sites with grass areas and picnic tables. It has easy access from Highway Street. The facilities are well built and clean. After looking at the other parks in Fredericksburg this one certainly has the best appearance. The only reason I could not give it a 10 is that there is nothing to do at the park. It is strictly a camping site. I do recommend this place and will stay there again, but, I am glad that I do not have children looking for something to do as this park has nothing to distract them. It does not offer phone connection except on a monthly basis. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

New park with friendly and helpful owner/managers. Facilities are excellent and very clean. Top notch utilities with 50 amp at every site and good water pressure. All sites are over sized pull-thrus. Monthly rates are excellent. Lots of fun activities planned for snowbirds during winter months. Phones available at long-term sites. Cable TV is FREE! Within walking distance of historic downtown Fredericksburg. Trees have been planted and sites will soon be shaded. We camped here in a camper.

A new park very well thought out. Facilities are the best anywhere and the hosts offer fresh coffee and true Texas hospitality. Close to downtown Fredericksburg and all the activities, shops, museams, galleries, etc. We camped here in a camper.

Our first experience staying at a park we found listed on this WEB site and were very impressed that it matched the rater's comments so keep it up. By the way, we stayed for a week and the weekly rate was $138 with no additional charge for 50 amp service which others in town do charge!! We camped here in a camper.

This is a brand new park, opened Oct. 2000. The owners are experienced RVer's and really did it right. All sights are pull through and can handle the biggest rigs. Ideal as a base of operations for the Texas Hill Country. Only a couple of blocks from Main St. Fredericksburg and 1 hour from Austin or San Antonio. A perfect spot for snowbirds. Very peaceful and quiet. We camped here in a camper.
This is the standard rate. No discounts. Long dirt pull-thrus, with plenty maneuvering room for a 42ft motorhome & tow. Good base park for exploring the hill country. Good 50 amp power & free Wi-Fi. Wal-Mart near-by. Would sure stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for eight days in the middle of January. We were charged $108.50 for the 8 days with free electricity. Flat, solid gravel site, some dead grass and a small tree on our site. The free CATV was great: 70 channels and 18 HD channels. The free Wi-Fi was variable; had 3 antennas but was slow at times. The DSL modem probably needed to be rebooted. We used our own bathroom. The laundry worked fine; wife was happy. It rained for 30 hours straight while we were here and one road turned into a lake. As the reviewer from October 2009 said "the permanent pickup camper next to our site was using both his own yard and our yard too with a small refrigerator and assorted stuff on the picnic table and scattered about." He was still here in January 2010 in site 19, we were in 20. Fredericksburg is a great place to visit. This park is OK if you don't need all the fancy stuff. We would come here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for 3 nights. Although it was a quiet campground, you would not want to stay here for the scenery. Apparently many people live here and we were surprised at some of the junk and trailers that were allowed in this campground. No trees to speak of and it had rained the night before and there was a huge mud puddle in the road that we had to drive through every time we left. I have a 7-year-old son who was hoping to play outside or meet other kids but there were none: not an RV park for kids to play in. Would recommend only if you could not find another place to stay in Fredericksburg. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Flat sites, gravel, w/grass between sites. Free CATV, free Wi-Fi that worked great, tables at each site. Many permanent residents with wood porches installed, permanent pickup camper next to our site was using both his own yard and our yard too with a small refrigerator and assorted "stuff" on the picnic table and scattered about. Even with that, we had a pleasant stay and would return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We loved staying here! We were here to see the bluebonnets and wildflowers and, unfortunately, it rained the whole week. But the park was extremely clean, quiet, and the staff very helpful. We had a great view, and the only problem we had was the asphalt gave way on the rear end of the motorhome due to poor asphalt construction and much rain. We literally sunk our rear jack 6" into the asphalt. The motorhome across from us had the same problem and had to move their motorhome forward a couple feet in order to relevel. But, that aside, we would definitely stay here again, and look forward to staying here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
We spent four days here last week. The staff was friendly and the facilities were very good. The main purpose of this review is to warn Wi-Fi users of the woefully poor wireless service. Internet access at this municipal park is served by an outside company at the rate of $4.00/day. During the two days that I purchased access, the download speed rarely exceeded 2 Mbps. Generally, the speed remained at 1 Mbps!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Clean, accessible to golf course and city. Internet not usable, very few pull-thru's . We were in site 85 BD, which was huge. Most of the sites are back-ins which is OK, but a "pain". Plenty of room for big rigs. Very clean park, nice managers, located in the heart of Bluebonnet country (early April). All hookups have water 30/50A, cable TV, new internet planned. Inexpensive $25/night for all. Easy to find, just stay on TX hwy 16 until you pass the airport entrance. Avoid turning onto FM 2093 which is just North of the airport/RV site. If you make this turn and are in a big rig or pulling a toad, it may be miles before you can find a narrow unpaved road headed south; and there are no places to make a U-turn. Trust me. If you are arriving from the DFW area, do yourself a favor, don't take I-35 W, take one of the many FM routes south through Cleburne, Glen Rose, Lampassas, etc to get to Fredericksburg; especially if travel is done during the Texas Bluebonnet season late March to mid-April. The roads are great and less dangerous than I-35. Must see Museum of the Pacific War. One of the best outside of Smithsonian. Navaho Grill is one of the few good restaurants, but you won't go hungry, many places to eat. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great park, love the nature trails and area's to be able to bike and hike. Friendly new manager and friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay and will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This place has back to back sites; two rigs back up to each other to share the utilities. One rig has to have 30-50 feet of sewer hose to reach. Even though the park was only half full they would not let us move to a site where we could reach the sewer outlet. For the $$ you can go into town and stay at one of the other RV parks and get a site with utilities or just go into town and the Walmart will sell you another sewer hose to hook up with. For basically a spot to spend the night it was not much above staying in the Walmart parking lot. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very adequate park owned by the City in a great town. I do not care for the back-end to back-end sites but I can put up with it. Lots of kids & tents in the area but didn't have any problems. We'll return ASAP. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Second time we've stayed here, and once again we were very impressed. This is a great place to camp short term or long. Majority of sites are shaded by large pecan trees. (They do drip sap in the late summer, but it is easily removed.) The entire park is very well kept, neat and clean. All utilities are top notch. WIFI is pay as you go. Verizon Broad Band gets five bars. There was an airshow of sorts going on at the nearby airstrip which was a little noisy, but on the other hand, it is great fun to watch those guys fly. We'll definitely come back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is not a camping type of park. It is for winter Texans, for overnighting and for a base station for visiting the area. The sites are very tight. On most back in sites you will be 1 foot from the back of the RV behind you. The shower houses are clean but not the greatest I have seen. There is no privacy in the shower area. They also have a serious fire ant problem and most sites have very little grass. On the other hand the folks that camp there and the ones that run the campground are very friendly. It is close to downtown Fredericksburg. If I am going down for the weekend I would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Our favorite campground in Fredericksburg. Quiet; nice folks to deal with; very reasonable rates. Next to an airport, but, we heard no planes fly at night. Large tree grove in part of the park likely to affect satellite reception. Highly recommend. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is too good to be true. Best park for the money. The nightly rate is based on the monthly rate. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a great park that is really convenient to Fredericksburg shopping and events. The area we stayed in had the sites back to back and it was a bit tight because we have a big coach and the fifth wheel behind us was big too. The hook ups are in kind of an odd place so make sure you have a long sewer hose and power cord. The water pressure was kinda low, but we really enjoyed the stay. The airport next to the park gave us hours of entertainment, there must have been an air show this weekend, because we saw all kind of vintage planes taking off and doing formations... but we never heard a plane at night. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Overall this park is a fantastic park for the rate paid. Some people may be put off by tight turns and small spaces in the larger area of the park. Others may be put of by the airport right next door to the park. I rarely heard the small cessnas as they take off. We were fortunate to be there when many warbirds came for the day. I am an aviation buff. Some sites will have hookups on the wrong side of the RV so be prepared with extra long hoses and electrical cords if needed. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
What a great place to camp. Beautiful sites, wide and shaded. All utilities work very well. Good voltage on AC and outstanding water pressure. WIFI is pay as you go but the signal strength is excellent. Only tiny complaint is that the pecan trees which provide ample shade also produce ample sap which coated our Airstream. Not a big deal. It washes off with soap and water. We would DEFINITELY camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone about this park! $20 a night for full hookups with cable. Most sites are paved, level, and some pull through. The pool is $1/per person/per day but it is Olympic sized and with an 11ft diving section. The sites are super far apart by RV park standards and lots of shady pecan trees. There is a nice new play ground right in the park. The only con is that on some of the back 2 back sites you may have to run your electric and water under your trailer, but there is sewer on BOTH sides. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching small planes take off at the airport. We will absolutely stay here again and again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a great park. It is located close to town on Highway 16 to the south. The sites were spaced very nicely with plenty of room and level. The park is well kept and we enjoyed walking down by the creek and the nature trail. All of the basics worked well (50 amp power, water, sewer). The park is next to the city airport but that is certainly no problem. We probably heard about 4 or 5 small planes a day. We stayed here about 8 or 9 days and would certainly come back. If you are going to Fredericksburg, don't miss this beautiful RV Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great park. It is located close to town on Highway 16 to the south. I would say that about 70% of the sites were occupied. The sites were spaced very nicely with plenty of room so we didn't not feel crowed at all. Bob the park host was very nice and helped us get settled in. He came by twice during our stay to check in on us. A very nice fellow. The park is well kept and we enjoyed walking down by the creek and the nature trail. Our daughter enjoyed the play ground equipment near the golf course. All of the basics worked well (power, water, sewer). We took our kayak and enjoyed a short run down the creek from one dam to the next damn. The park is next to the city airport and we did hear planes coming and going. We probably heard about 4 or 5 a day (we stayed for 2 nights). If you are going to Fredericksburg, this is the place to stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Shhh! Don't tell anyone else about this park. It is a delightful area 3 miles south of town. Roomy side-by-side sites on gravel, full hook ups with cable for $20. Wi-fi available for $3 but so weak it's not worth bothering with. Standard municipal type bathrooms that are clean. Next to the airport but just a few small planes took off or landed so not a noise problem. Some of the pull thrus require you to either pull in and back out or back in and pull out if you have a big rig but there's plenty of room to do it easily. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice spread-out park. We stayed at the upper part of the park, close to the office, very long spaces. We didn't do a lot at the park due to the weather, it rained both days we were there. Staff friendly/helpful. Close to many major stores and small shops. Some spaces close together. There are other facilities: fishing, BBQ, baseball fields, etc. but it rained so we didn't really use the park...WE SHOPPED, which there is not shortage of doing in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
One of our favorite places to stay in the Hill Country. They now have free wi-fi. We have stayed in spots where it worked and spots where it doesn't. Although a county airport is next door, we have only heard loud (jet) traffic on the weekends and not at night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice municipal park with nature trails, bird feeding station and good golf course. While the daily rate is $20, it is $250 a month with all amenities included! It is a bargain at the daily rate, but the monthly rate makes this place a steal. Many sites are under pecan trees. It is pretty windy many days and nights and is next to the town airport. There are no night flights and most of the planes are little. We would try to get back here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is probably the best kept secret in Texas. Great park with large sites, huge grassy patio area between sites with picnic table. Lots of shade trees. Our site faced the airfield - minimum noise except for private planes taking off and landing. A Municipal Park owned and operated by City of Fredericksburg, with full hookups, including large selection of cable TV. Our site was treed but still rooftop satellite friendly. Extremely friendly and helpful management. We are planning a winter return stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a city municipal recreation park with 90 sites. Full hook-ups with 30/50A. In addition, there are bathhouses, a pool, tennis court, 78 cable channels. picnic areas, pavilions, and a nice public golf course. No laundry facilities or fire rings. The majority of the sites are double side by side or front to back pull throughs. The dual hook up facilities are located in the middle of each site. Meaning- in one way or the other - you are going to share a site if the park is full. Avoid the back in only sites 73-80 unless you are happy doing a lot of back to front leveling. The front to back pull throughs are at least 30 feet but the side by side sites are awning to awning. Sites have trees to make it partially shaded, but they typically don't interfere with satellite reception. There is no road noise. The C/G is adjacent to the municipal airport, but airplane traffic is very light. The park is well maintained with a helpful staff. Voltage and water pressure are very good, even when it's are crowded. Any RV over 35 feet will find the front to back pull throughs a bit tight, but it is manageable. If I were rating the C/G by itself, I'd give it a 7 or three stars. But due to the amenities, closeness to town, being well maintained, and a $20/night fee, I give it an 8 or four stars. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Clean and quiet. Run by the City of Fredericksburg, sites are $20 per night. Everything at this park was A+. Without question, the best value in Fredericksburg! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice park. We were located at the top pull through sites along the airport runway. Noise was never a concern - very few airplanes. Good level site w/ full hookups. It was a bargain for this particular area at $20. We had a heavy rain, but puddles and mud was not a problem. Nice, helpful employees in the office. Because of weather, we had to extend our stay several days and we were accommodated without problems. Location south of town makes it a very nice quiet area. We will plan to stay here every time we are in this area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Good for the price, but sites are small. We had to put our 24' trailer in caddy corner to park. Good space between sites. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Lovely park on the south side of town. Enjoyed watching the occasional small plane take off and land from the municipal airport. Noise was never and issue. Playground is small. Deer and turkey sighted. Pool admission is $ 1.00, tennis courts and golf close by along with nice walking / biking trails. Creek to wade in. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a wonderful park managed by a friendly staff. There is so much to do here we keep coming back. You have a golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball area, fishing and more. Everyone we have met camping here were friendly. We parked our trailer for the 4th of July and watched an excellent fireworks display. This is our favorite RV park in Texas. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean park with a true bargain price. We stayed here and visited the River Walk in San Antonio taking the toad rather than the motorhome. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice place. WiFi excellent. Don't let airport location scare you. About two or three take offs and landings a day. Golf course in park is very nice also. Showers are not private, but still very clean. Nice city park to use as a home base during visit. Some snow birds in park. Very nice views. Pull throughs on top of hill by airport runways. back ins futher down hill. Would return. This is a beautiful area and Fredericksburg a super town. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was an excellent park for the low nightly rate. Full hook ups at a good area for 20 bucks is hard to find. There is a golf course sort of across the street and down a little. There is fishing at the municipal park area, baseball diamonds, and a large recreation area. We stayed here while visiting Fredricksburg and had a great time. The employees that run it are very nice and helpful. They have some pull through sites toward the front without a lot of shade and an area in the rear in a pecan grove with lots of shade trees. The only complaint I had at all is the site areas are gravel and ours was a little hard to level on. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice enough park. Friendly office help. Gravel sites, some better situated than others. Many sites are tandem with two rigs backed up to each other. In the front area where we stayed one night, your door opens directly to the other persons door about 12' away with a picnic table between. Since our neighbors dog was a barker, everytime we exited with our dog the barking started. The lower area was somewhat better designed. Utilities worked very well. Bigger rigs might find trees a bit challenging in some spots. Ok for overnight or short term visit to the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Wonderful park on the edge of town. Adjacent to small municipal airport (no airplane noise
while we were there) and county fairgrounds. Plenty of room for slideouts.Fire rings and picnic tables at each site.Playground and creek to wade in. Hiking trails. Golf, tennis and swimming were available for a small additional fee. We stayed in a motorhome in 2003. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The check in lady was very nice and helpful. However when using the Passport America discount you get the bargain basement spots. No shade, very close and cramped, your slideouts will be over the next camper's concrete slab with the picnic table on it. Sewer hookups are on the same slab as your neighbor's picnic table which is a little odd. Wi-Fi is very good. If this park has restrictions on sites with discount it should have been listed in the directory. Will not stop here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Was worried based upon everyone's comments about space; however, we stayed in space 5 for four nights and were very comfortable. Enjoyed the location, the facility, and the staff. Wireless hookup was very simple to use had no problems running two laptops (macbooks). Would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We had a nice shady, back in site in the "forest". Has an excellent large pool, great WiFi. Was full for the Memorial Day weekend with a Crawfish Festival in town, but it was very quiet. Nice areas around edge of park for dog walks. No area to park the RV at check-in, except to block the road. Nice Texas Hill Country park! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Easy access to park and check in was easy. If you use GPS beware it doesn't have the correct location. I found the lady that checked us in was nice, no rules mentioned. The site was level and we had no trees or tight turns mentioned by others. The spots were a little short but not too close together. We could use our Dish, Verizon phone and air card here. Water pressure was good. People around to help you and answer any questions. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Sites are close together, you should definitely pay for a premium site. Camped here for Spring Break, did not see many children and not many activities but we stayed busy in Fredericksburg. We did like that they had full hookups. Campground was clean but close to a road that had a lot of truck noise early in the mornings. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Pull-through sites are so tight our tires rubbed on elevated concrete pads when trying to get into our site with a big rig. Staff was not friendly, in fact rude and the office was unprofessional with some offensive signs on the walls. Would not stay or recommend to anyone. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground is ok. Stayed for a rally found the spaces very small with awning overhang of the neighbors sewer and utilites in some cases. The restrooms/showers are a bit primitive, but ok. Would I stay again? Perhaps. The ladies who run the park are a bit different and may have been dealing with RVer's for too long. I would prescribe a break or retirement. Lots of rules. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The $18 was a Passport America rate. Park very quiet, about 2 miles from town with easy access. The park is in great shape and staff super friendly and helpful. Each site has a small concrete pad with a picnic table and gravel is under the RV with level sites. Spaces are close together but adequate. Grounds are well kept and there is a dog walk area. We would absolutely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We just got home from Oakwood. We had a nice time. The pool needed attention, didn't swim, due to the rain. We stay here when we are in the area. The spaces are tight. The rest rooms were very clean. Front loading washers, have to get use to them (less Water) Park was filling up for the weekend. We stayed Mon-Sat. and enjoyed the town. We use this as a base-camp and go site seeing and shopping. SEE ALL YOU CAN, while there we went to see LBJ Ranch... We totally enjoyed this. You will too. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Stayed one night as a Passport member, could have stayed longer. Would highly recommend this park. Well kept, fairly quiet, good location, friendly staff. Will definitely return when in the area. Has a very large pool. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice, clean campground. Rigs rather close together. Good WiFi, cable and phone service. Washers and dryers rather small. Pot lucks and other activities. Would stay here for extended period. Many sights to see in local area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had a good experience at this facility. The space we camped in had enough room but there are others very close together. The staff friendly and helpful. We would camp there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Wasn't my first choice for staying in Fredericksburg. Older park with numerous narrow (read difficult access) pull through sites. If a fellow camper with more experience hadn't been there to help I'm not sure I could have gotten my 31 ft 5th wheel into the site. Between the raised concrete pad and the utility connections I only had about a foot on each side of the trailer after I was parked. This was after asking for a site with "easy" access. OK if other options are full but other campgrounds in the area have easier access. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
If you can get pull thru-do so. Otherwise pretty tight for big rigs. Friendly and helpful staff. Would stay again, location good. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites were a bit small so our slides were almost on top of the neighbour's patio area. Very friendly folks at the check in and helpful with making some tools accessible as we needed to try and do some repairs. The pool area is large and looks very clean. The dog walk area is in the middle of a field but there is also some trails around for walking. There are a fair number of sites with what appear to be full time residents but they are over in the treed area where the sites are not suitable for a larger motorhome. The pull throughs are all over in what seems to be the newer part and have a gravel sand base- nice and level but did end up getting tracked in. A nice park for a short stay- wouldn't want to be there for more than a couple of nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We've stayed at Oakwood twice now. I would recommend the park and would probably stay here again, but only if the other RV park in town (Fredericksburg RV is full). I hate to say that. Oakwood has a great pool and lots of space, but the sites are very close together. Honestly there are 3 parks in Fredericksburg, they are all pretty good and it's just personal preference. This is a decent park! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed one night on Passport America, and selected a site in the lower price range, but other larger sites were available. Sites were close together, but we weren't parked next to anyone so that didn't matter. Would be a closed in feeling if the park were full. The staff is great, we enjoyed our stay, and will stay at Oakwood again in the future if in the area. Felt we received a good site at a good price, but do wish they would honor Passport America for more than one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Agree with those who said small, close sites difficult to get into -- even with a 30-ft. fifth wheel. Rude, unfriendly office staff. Fredericksburg is a great city to visit, but there are other places to camp. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park has two parts-one half is a heavily treed, park like area with winding roads that lead to shaded back-in spots. A few of these are a pretty tight fit between big shade trees but they are perfect for smaller rigs like mine. The other half is a wide open paved lot with rows of pull through spaces sprinkled with small spaced trees. The location is great, on the edge of town near the fairgrounds in a quiet area. The pool is big and well kept, a real treat during hot Texas afternoons. This is the place to stay if you are going to attend one of the many annual events at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Sites were very tight. We have a 40 ft MH and with the slides out, we were nearly touching the picnic table in our patio area, as was the fifth wheel next to us touching it with his slide. We will probably not stay here again as we found the management in the office was surly and not very helpful. There are too many other places around where people are glad to see you come in. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Interior roads become muddy with large amounts of rain which we had. Older park with very close difficult sites to navigate. Slides will hang over neighbors patio. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I camped there almost a year ago. Wish I had known about this site immediately after my experience. I agree with all of the negative comments that have been made at this site. An early morning call on the day of arrival to confirm our site indicated our reservations had not been handled correctly. Another call about two hours out confirmed that nothing had been done to correct the situation. Upon arrival we did have a site. The Workkampers were not friendly. Despite several requests, the cable never did work. It was included in the price and no adjustment was ever made. I would not return to Oakwood RV Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is in bad need of some work. The roads will become a muddy river when it rains. The sites are so close to each other that if you have a large slide it'll cover the patio next to you. They have increased the monthly rate for 50 amp service to $425 per month. This park would be acceptable only if WalMart is full. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Attitude of the staff was very poor and surly. They quoted one price and then wanted to raise the price if we extended our stay. When the weather turned freezing, they would not extend us because they were booked up, nor would they give a refund so we could get out of there before the freezing rain hit. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were here from June 2004 to April 2005 and we'll never stay here that long again. The park is okay for a one night stay but not for long stays. When it rains the roads turn into a muddy street. The owner refuses to spend any money to improve the park. The sites are close to each other and some of the larger slides go over the next patio slab. A lot of campers believe the owner is using the park as a tax write off. The name Oakwood RV Resort is totally misleading. There is nothing in the park that would make this a Resort. I just as soon as spend the night in a Wal Mart parking lot than stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is very tight and hard to maneuver. Trucks and cars park in the street making it very hard to pull into your site. Not very well maintained. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park probably used to be just fine, but maintenance has been neglected for several years. The entry is quite impressive, but once in the gate, the shabbiness begins to be apparent. The sites and roads are gravel, which has not been replaced in years. It was a rainy day, and the roads were muddy in places. This park is rated with four diamonds by Woodall's, but apparently they haven't been there lately. I should have known something was wrong when I noticed that the brochure I got at the office had "no refunds" printed in several places. The sites were very narrow, with slides extending over the next site's picnic table. The pool was unuseable, the horeshoe pits were in disrepair, the "putting green", which was a piece of astro turf set up on a little mound, was embarrasing, and there was a fountain that had been disconnected and was in need of cleaning. The office person was neither friendly nor surly. The park was not awful, but was below expectations. Okay for an overnight, but far from being a destination resort. We stayed there in April of 2004. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV Park is located in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. The town is a small German
town and everyone is very friendly. The weather in the winter is very mild. I would recommend this RV Park to everyone looking for a quiet place to
visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.
