Have stayed here before. Easy access from Interstate 10. Very nice and helpful check in - nothing especially fancy but a nice campground. Great pull through sites for a 45 foot with toad. Nice view of the river and just all around well managed. Nice recent additions were gazebo's and concrete patio pads. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have used this RV park since we have been RVing and it seems like coming home. The managers and staff always work hard and the park is always neat and clean. We would recommend this park for any travelers because they also have cabins. We travel in a 45' motorhome and tow an SUV - we have plenty of room without feeling closed-in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent the night at this park on our way home from El Paso,Texas. The people were very friendly and the park was neat, clean and quiet. Most definitely recommend this as a good place to stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great little park. No road noise to speak of. Big wide sites, lots of pull throughs. Very quiet at night. Friendly owners met us at the gate upon our arrival at 7PM even though the office was closed. Escorted us to our site. #70 is the best site in the park! Comes complete with cabana, picnic table, fire ring, bbq and lawn furniture. Verizon 3bars/edge-AT&T 5bars/4g. CG is on the river but only tent sites abut the shoreline. Appears they are in the flood plain so the RV sites are higher...keeps the sewers out of the river. WiF was free, strong but a little slow. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our stay in this park was a last minute decision. The staff was wonderful to work with and accommodated our last minute request for a reservation by giving us a discounted rate and staying open a little late to wait for our arrival. The spaces were generous, the park was clean and quiet. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our fifth visit in the last 5 years to this campground and it keeps getting better. The campground is clean and well cared. Spaces are more than ample for big rigs, easy in and out, owners are very caring hosts. The river view and ducks add to the charm. Several good places to dine out close. This is a very nice well maintained campground. We planed to stay one night,but decided to stay for three nights. The owners were very friendly and did all they could to help. Stayed in the overflow section the first night. It did have water & electric. Moved to a full hook up site for the remainder of our stay.They have a pool as well as the Llano River. Both are clean & refreshing. The public bath & shower were very clean & sanitary. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Lovely park by the river with nice tables and shelters. Staff were very nice, friendly, and accommodating. They let me stay in the overflow area with electric even before the park had filled up because I just needed somewhere to pull in and out quick for a night. Park did fill up fast though, so call for reservations. Would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Just the size of park we like. Wonderful setting on the river. Big flat sights. Friendly managers. Strong wifi. Hubbie thought it was a bit slow. Cable tv great picture but it had some fuzziness. OK, clean bathrooms. Great hot water and strong in the individual showers. Only drawback is roads not paved, but not a big deal. The pool looked well maintained, but we didn't use it. We will definitely stop there again. Junction doesn't have much to offer but there are nice people in the thrift shops and a nice city park at the river. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stopped here for 1 night while in transit. Needed to get in and hooked up in time to watch the SuperBowl. Very pretty location right along a river. Some back in sites are right on the river. They have kayaks for rent. Sites are nice and roomy. Cable worked well. Wi-Fi signal was slow. Hosts were very nice. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is one of our favorites. The managers are very nice and always working on improving the park. They hire the nicest hosts to help with the park. It is a pleasant stay. The sites are a mix of long and short. They are all hard packed gravel with nice space between rigs. It is easy to get big rigs into and around the park. They escort you to the site. They have a security gate to limit entrance. The river access is good. A nice place to take a walk. They have an excellent barbeque within walking distance to the park. Junction is a nice small town. We enjoy staying here for a several days when traveling through this area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Managers very friendly. We were escorted to large pull through, level site with brick patio, pergola, rocking chairs, picnic table, and grill. Beautiful view. Excellent hookups. Dog friendly with small fenced area and plenty of space for walks. Laundry was exceptionally clean. Restrooms were very clean; did not use showers. Only negative was almost no Verizon service (data or voice). Resort Wi-Fi worked well. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park. Great patio at site with chairs and end table and picnic table. Sites are level and wide. Pretty view, we saw deer across the river. Managers are really nice people. We were having a problem with two of our baggage doors and the manager helped us fix the problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Friendly owners welcomed us and showed us the site. Roads are not paved but not a problem unless it rains, which made it very messy. Sites are fairly spaced out and park was empty when we camped so it was nice and quiet. Brick patio by our site and lots of room around. Good stopping point if you are traveling on 1-10 and would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We had an excellent site on an end with a brick patio with wood arbor. There is no water in the river right now, but it runs along one end of park. Site was level, clean, and easy to maneuver into with plenty room for tow. Spoke with the managers and they were very personable and welcoming. We will stay here again We camped here in a Motorhome.

A delightful little park. Our site was long enough to accommodate the motorhome plus toad without uncoupling. It was level with a concrete patio and a huge grass area to the side. The river was dry. Deer wandered the park at night. Very helpful owner and office staff who will deliver pecan wood to the site for a bonfire. Park has a controlled access system. We extended our stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a good park while traveling 1-10. Easy access, security, cable, Wi-Fi and very clean. We stayed here in the past when it was a KOA. Improvements have been made with the patio areas and even the BBQ grills were spotless. Our only complaint is that the sites are barely long enough for a big rig, towing, to stay hooked-up. This is typical for parks built long ago. Be sure to ask for the longest sites if in a larger RV. We recommend the park and we will be staying here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this park twice (this year and last year) for a overnight stay while traveling along I-10. It has easy access on and off the interstate and the folks are very friendly. They show you to your RV pull-through site and always accommodate our 60' length (including tow) and 4-slide width. The views are nice with the trees and river, water pressure is great, hookups are easy, and the Wi-Fi is good. Our pull-through site had a clean grill and patio. What more could you want? We'd definitely stay here again when in the area! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground has fast and easy access from I-10. It is obviously a former KOA (the classic A-frame office), but the owner hasn't reduced his price even though he doesn't have to pay the KOA franchise fee. As a result, it is a bit overpriced for the area; the price cited is with a Good Sam discount. The roads and sites are gravel and dirt, but our site was pretty level. From reading other reviews we knew to ask for a satellite-friendly site, and ours was OK, but the tree cover still overhung our rooftop dish. The Wi-Fi signal was pretty good which was nice since the Verizon data signal is very slow. The staff were friendly and accompanied us to our site. It was a good place for an overnight stay, but it ought to be priced ~$5 less. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here one weekend night the second week of October. All sites appear to be pull-throughs and vary in length - most are reasonable width. The pool was still open but since the area has had some unusually cold nights recently, we did not test the cold waters. There is also a small playground. Cable TV is about 50 channels. Even so, we asked for and received a full hookup site where we could get roof satellite reception. Many sites are in the trees so you need to ask about getting a satellite friendly site. I had some trouble connecting with their Wi-Fi because there were several trees and a large class A between my site and the antenna on the office roof. They need to get at least one more Wi-Fi antenna. The river is still dry due to drought conditions this year. It is unreasonable for a reviewer to downgrade a park (as a recent reviewer did) for things that are outside their control such as a dry river and the reviewer's opinion that the town had nothing of interest for them. This a nice park with a friendly staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very tidy, well designed park. The office folks were very friendly, even though we arrived exactly at closing and they had to reopen the office. Good level pullthroughs, good cable, usable Wi-Fi. We were here for a single night, and the $35 fee seemed a bit high. The irony is that we were given two 20% off coupons for future stays, no expiration. Wouldn't it be nice if they just dropped the price 20%?? We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Older park but a nice place to stay. We stayed three days and spent all three in the fantastic pool, not a new pool or anything outstanding but it was perfect on the warm days we were there. Restrooms were clean and usable; showers were hot and clean. Sites are gravel and ours was shaded under a large pecan tree. No water in the river when we were there but had a great time just relaxing and will be back for sure. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park close to the interstate, but not close enough to get the noise. Nice pool, okay playground and a nice area down by the river. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We had tried to stay at a place in Ozona and it was very bad so we drove on to Junction and found the Junction/North Llano River RV Park. The 'main' sites were all taken, but there were several additional sites behind the office building. It was late with no one in the office, but there was a note about the additional sites posted. So we pulled in, plugged in and spent the night. The next morning we could see that the main sites looked very nice and we would have liked to have stayed there, but we needed to move on so we left. This is a very nice place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were heading west on I-10 and needed a quick overnight stop. Boy are we glad we stopped here. What a lovely park. The managers were very friendly and helpful. My partner and I stayed at this Park in Feb. 2012 We were only going to stay 1 night but The Managers were so nice, friendly and so good to be around that we stayed longer in February and stopped back in March 2012 and stayed just to see them again. They keep everything so clean and the Park is beautiful everything works great. Thanks to the management. The park has new Owners it is not a KOA anymore so the prices are much more reasonable. We know as long as the new Owner keep on the current folks as managers it will be a clean fun place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We don't care for this part of Texas, but for an overnight stay, this was a great choice. Grass next to each dirt/gravel site, nice distance from neighbors. Really clean bathrooms, but small (Lilliputian) showers. Excellent, inexpensive laundry room. We faced a relaxing, wooded, green river. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Staff takes pride in this RV Park. We stayed here for 3 nights just trying out our new RV. I was so impressed with the staff and the park. Employees made sure we were happy and everytime someone checked out of their site there was a employee right there making sure the site & grill was all clean for the next camper. The park was VERY clean and well maintained and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We have a 42ft, fifth wheel and most of the sites were big rig friendly. Nice location right on the river. We will be back to stay here again. Our $35.00 rate was a patio site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great park. The roads are gravel and in good condition. The sites are gravel, wide reasonably level. The park is well maintained and has a security gate. There are limited big rig sites. the Wi-Fi seems to work as well as most parks. the Verizon signal is week but the ATT is strong. The park hosts are very friendly and helpful. We were going to stay two days, ended up staying longer as it was a pleasant place to relax for a few days. Most seem to use this as a over night, but we found it a great place to stay longer. We will be returning here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very Clean, the grounds are extremely well maintained, the managers are very hospitable and very helpful. This RV park is definitely a Jewel along I-10, we recommend this RV Park to anyone traveling I-10 going either direction. We enjoyed our first day so much we stayed an extra day. The peaceful and serene surrounding, the slow moving North Llano river helped us wind down from our travels from Oceanside California. We will be staying here on our way back out west later this year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at this RV park for a week. The RV sites are a good size, no crowding, clean - grass and gravel, many trees. This park is located along the North Llano River. The owners/hosts are very nice, they are outside when you drive up and then escort you to your site. Good Wi-Fi and cable reception, the park is quiet and very relaxing. Our site had a brick patio, pergola, rocking chairs, fire pit and grill. Pet friendly, there is a fenced off leash area. You can walk through the park to town or just walk in the park. We would stay here again and recommend this park -it is one of the best we have come across in our travels. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground. Very large spaces with green patches in between level sites of gravelly dirt. Even though this is right next to the North LLano River, it has excellent drainage, especially when we had 4 inches of rain in one night. Hosts take a lot of pride in their campground. Plenty of places to walk about the CG. CG is surrounded by beautiful natural Texas beauty. Great places to take your big dogs for walks. They even have a small off leash park. Some sites have covered patios with rockers. All have 20/30/50 amp, water, sewer, free cable, free wi-fi unsecured & secured, grill/smoker and picnic table. There are 4 gas stations right off I-10 and CG is less than 1 mile from I-10. Close to restaurants, and a liquor store near the entrance. This used to be a KOA CG, and now is a Good Sam. They still take both discounts. You get an escort to site, and a 24 hr gated community. Very easy on/off, and nice stop between Fort Stockton and Austin. Highly recommend for a quiet and peaceful stay. Reserved for 1 day, ended up staying 4. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I stayed here for 1 night in a pull through site. Campground elevation is 1,749 feet. Maneuvering my 40 footer towing a dinghy was no issue. Roads and sites are gravel. Patio was pavers with slat roof and furniture. Sites are large enough to hold a tow and dinghy. My site was level and spacing is good. My site offered 30/50 amp service & full hookups. WI-FI is included in daily rate. There is no cable. I was able to receive AT&T Wireless G2 Internet & Cellular service. I received Dish Network 110/119 Satellite TV from dish on roof of motorhome. Campground is pet friendly. Walmart is 52 miles away and a grocery is 1 mile away. I am unable to comment on other amenities due to not using them. Very nice well kept campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park along the river. Sites are gravel and not very level. Close to the highway so there is some highway noise, but not very bad. Free wi-fi is poor and slow. Cable TV was good. My main complaint is for $38.00 with my Good Sam discount this is no bargain. All it has going for it is a swimming pool. But then this is west Texas. I will find another park next time for an overnight stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy in, easy out location. Park can handle every size rig. Very big rig friendly. Good interior roads. Utilities conveniently located and solid including good Wi-Fi. Spaces are very large with lots of space between every rig. Several of the sites have real patios with covers and patio furniture. They have a fenced dog area with waste bags. Your trash is picked up at your site each morning. The pool area was very clean. You can walk along the river which can been seen from many of the RV sites. The lady who checked us in could not have been nicer or more accommodating. As far as full-time residents are concerned, at the time of our stay (11/29/11) there were only about 7 rigs there and all were kept very neat. This park is located close to some eating places. A couple you could even walk to. We will be staying here any time we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were quite a distance from the laundry so the staff stopped by and drove my wife and our laundry to the laundry room. When she was done they brought her to our site. Staff was very friendly. Great greeting, escort to site. Was nice level gravel, not on top of your neighbor. Has good size sites, big pecan trees, lots of deer on the lot to the west. This park is much better than your average KOA. Sites are large, well maintained level, gravel sites with FHU/50amp, cable TV and WiFi: all worked great. Our Verizon air card did not work well here, however cell did work. Staff and owners were very friendly. Newer park, so not much shade. Some sites do have covered picnic/seating areas. Right along a river, where you can swim or fish. Nice playground and pool. Easy on/off I-10, yet very quiet at night. Only negative is price. Comparable properties in Texas are under $30 a night. This is one of my favorite KOA's. It has spacious sites and great Wi-Fi and cable. The owners are awesome! I would recommend anyone stop here overnight or even for a few days. There is a cute little old town that reminds us of life gone past. Everyone is very friendly! Of course between the border of Texas and San Antonio there is not a lot to choose from, but you should CHOOSE this one! Yes, it is a little more spend y but worth every dime! Probably the nicest KOA we've stayed at. Right on the river - pecan trees everywhere with pecans on the ground - crack 'em & eat 'em. Lots of birds, doves singing like crazy. Friendly staff. The laundry room is nice and new, but it's $2.50 a load to wash and $1.75 to dry! A bit steep. Otherwise - a great place. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground sits right on the Llano River and features spacious sites much more spread out than one typically finds at KOA. Large trees scattered throughout the park provide ample shade. What a great campground! Right next to the river, with huge beautiful pecan-producing trees! It's not quite spring yet so just starting to green up but still pretty. Friendly owners and staff, and we were also given a really nice space. Resident ducks that go out to the river during the day but return to their duck pen every evening: very cute. Good water pressure: yay! Very spacious. You can just walk around the park and pick up pecans, which you can carefully shell (if you're too aggressive, you'll just mush the nut meat) and eat! It was like an Easter egg hunt for me! Also, there's good food at Mama Kay's Sunshine Bakery & Cafe. There was a bit more traffic noise than what I've gotten used to, but it wasn't too bad. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is by far our favorite KOA. The park is beautiful, with large pecan trees for shade and great views of the Llano River. The sites are well spaced and include BBQ grills in addition to the usual amenities. The staff is very friendly and always provide an escort to each site. Love the ducks (KOA version of The Peabody I guess!) that parade to and from the river every day. This is our third stay here and we'll definitely stay here again when passing this way. We stayed here for a nice weekend of pool and river swimming. The staff is extremely friendly; the owners are top notch folks. The restrooms are very clean and the same goes for the showers. The pool was well kept and very refreshing in the extreme heat. The North Llano River at the park is up, but not what you would consider a good swimming hole. The Junction KOA is close the State Park, which does have some extremely nice swimming. Wi-Fi was decent for email checking, but it is by no means high speed, however it is free. Sites were level and clean. The group of ducks that belong to the park are raising about 20 young ones. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very clean and well maintained park. The KOA staff could have not been more friendly and/or helpful. We stayed three nights and look forward to returning. Site #70 was huge and our kids had a great time playing in the greenspace next to our site as well as the playground and pool. We just made an over night stay here. It has a lot of the amenities of most KOA parks, but the difference here was the attitudes of the staff. Very friendly and helpful from the first moment we arrived. Their WI-FI worked good, which was great since our Verizon air card couldn't get good signal in a roaming area. This is a great KOA campground. It is easily accessed from Interstate 10. Most of the sites are pull through, and quite a few are on the river front. Almost all of them have a view of the river. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We only stayed one night on our way to Big Bend National Park. The only negative thing I have to say is there is a little bit of road noise from the bridge over the Llano river if you are in one of the sites next to bridge. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was a lovely campground with very large pull through sites, and grown pecan trees. We found the staff friendly, but were disappointed they no longer have either the new hot tub or exercise room. Should have asked in advance. There were deer, many birds, and squirrels - plus the park ducks. Very enjoyable. Yes, we found them very overpriced for the winter amenities offered, and wished we'd stayed at the State Park, which is very big-rig friendly; however, the campground has a very, very nice layout and great river access. This would be a wonderful campground for a summer family vacation if you don't mind the price. I would bring my grandchildren here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I've been around the country for years, and there are only about three KOA "gems" that I'd highly recommend (Streetsboro, OH, one in VA that I can't remember the name of, and this place). Junction KOA is a lovely, out-of-the-way stop over that is just wonderful. HUGE spaces between sites (biggest I've ever seen) and the park sits right by a scenic river. Although I didn't explore the area: it looked promising. The only reason I don't give this place a 10 is my standard complaint with KOA (price). Stay here! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Although we never saw it in the daylight, I am sure this park is very nice. However the staff is wonderful and went out of their way to help us. Being dead-tired and hours behind schedule due to interstate closures, we stopped about 9:30pm and found a Full sign at the entrance. After pulling over to the side of the highway near the entrance, we called all the other parks in the area and found them also full due to Spring Break. While we were deciding what to do, two ladies tapped on my window. It was the Manager and the Assistant Manager of this KOA park. They had walked about 75 yards from the office out to the highway to try and help us. They said they did have one small site with full hookups still available, but it was very hard to get into. They said we could have it if we could get our 30ft Class C into it. It took about 10 minutes of careful maneuvering, but I managed to get the coach in. WiFi worked fine. We left before sunup and didn't use any other facilities. This was great service. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a good campground to stop at for an overnight as you drive on I-10 through Texas. It has every amenity that we need for our 40-foot motor home, including free WIFI. It is easily accessible from the interstate. However, it is not a very scenic place, despite being on a small river. I give it high marks (9) for being clean, friendly and very complete, but a lower overall mark because it is not located in a very attractive area. Not a bad KOA but out in the middle of nowhere. No Wi-Fi, free or otherwise. Cell phone signal was poor, in "roam" mode so I couldn't use it, either, to access the internet. Our site was a pull-through gravel site to accommodate our big rig, was apparently just recently "created" and had a steep dip at entry and exit: an "odd" set-up (but worked fine for one overnight). We had a good view of the Llano River (what there was of it - water very low). Tent camping at riverside seemed to be very popular. It is a decent park, in a nice setting, and the new owners were friendly and accommodating. However, being fulltimers, we wouldn't want to return for any longer stay because we need daily, no hassle, no added cost access to Wi-Fi and cell phones. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A decent enough park on the South Llano River. There is easy access from Hwy 377 just
south of I10. The interior roads and sites are dirt but are reasonably level. The park staff was very pleasant and helpful and the park was clean and trash free. It is a family park with on-site activities such as horseshoes and canoe rentals. There is a well-stocked store with groceries and RV supplies in the office. The only complaint was that even though there were not more then 15 RVs when we were there they clumped everyone together. Even if someone left the next arrival was put in the vacated site instead of spreading people out a little. All things considered this was a nice park and we would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great place! We were only going to stay here for one night on the way to Ft. Davis, but due to the fires in Ft. Davis the owners gave us another day so we could replan our next move. This is a gem of stay. We stayed in a motorhome, 40', no issues. All dirt/gravel type layout with easy reach. Big trees and river access is super easy. They have a ladder to ease into the river or further down back up to drop off your canoe. A little bit off the interstate, but well worth the drive. This is a undiscovered gem! You are parked in a very old pecan grove. overlooking the South Llano River. There is a beach for swimming and fishing. Each site has a BBQ/smoker and a picnic table, in addition to hookups. Most of their sites have sewer. We had some difficulty with our satellite, but managed to get between the trees. Not a real strong Wi-Fi or cell signal with our Verizon card and phone. Peaceful, quiet, and helpful staff. The owner is a wonderful woman full of southern hospitality and charm. We loved this place so much, we will stop there on our return journey home. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stopped here for a one nighter and were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly, the sites themselves were gravel but level. We left our rig connected which is 46 feet long without a problem. I would have liked to try out a canoe on the river and perhaps go for a swim. Water looked clean. The internet worked just fine. We would stay here again. There seems to be some things to do around Junction. This is one of those non-planned stops that need to be planned next time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Scenery at the park was nice, but the management ruined our camping experience. We were having dinner in town after setting up camp and received a phone call from the grouchy manager. Apparently we had mistakenly set up camp in the wrong site. To our surprise, the manager screamed at us over the phone and said that "anyone who can't read the signs (not all had signs and it was confusing) did not deserve to camp at her site". This woman's behavior was uncalled for and made it very difficult for us to enjoy our vacation. The site was also very overpriced. We recommend that you skip this place. We camped here in a Tent.

This is a true gem as stated by other reviewers. Right by the riverside this is a quiet, peaceful park. If you want TV you will need satellite. I do not agree with the reviewer who made comment about a 28 foot rig. I have a 30 foot fifth-wheel and got in real easy, in fact there was enough room for a 36 footer. The access is unpaved so you do have to take it slow but the end result is more than worth the care. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is a beautiful park with a very scenic view of the Llano River. The lady that runs the park is extremely friendly and helpful. There are a few RV spots that would fit probably up to a 28' rig. The park is older so the sites were designed for shorter, older rigs so getting pulled in right, level, and getting hook-ups connected is somewhat tricky. However, if you have a rig that will fit these spots, the park is very neat. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Neat little place next to a Pecan Tree orchard. Easy access to the Llano River for the kids to splash around in. This is a good place for a one-night stay if you are traveling through west Texas. Like the other reviews mention, you're almost in someone's backyard, albeit a huge backyard. The restrooms need some updating but for just one night it was fine. Deer came through at dusk and it's a very quiet place just10 minutes off I-10. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is like camping in someone's back yard, Texas style. Grounds are HUGE, there is a pecan tree grove on the premises, and hundreds of deer in woods right next to the park. Friendly camp hosts, but location is isolated and not near to much. You are really out in the boonies in this park. No cable, Verizon air card did not work and we could not pull in any TV signals with antenna system. There was a single gunshot heard at 8:30 PM and we had no idea why. But, this is Texas country and who knows? Made us nervous, however. Plenty of room between sites, and beautiful country. Not sure we'd go back there. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We used this park as an overnight stop off of !-10. Found it to be a very large park with a few sites. All of the sites were large and shaded under large pecan trees. Beautiful area with deer and turkeys freely roaming around the park. Very quiet and easy on and off of I-10. Staff was very helpful. Cash only, no WiFi, 30-50 amp, water and sewer. No laundry. Nice area for a nature walk on the river. Well kept park in a rural setting, so bring what you need as there are no stores around. Possibly a little pricey for what you get, but still a nice get a way. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park has easy access from Interstate. Had a nice long pull through spot in the trees. There were some deer hanging around in the mornings in the large open field. It's a quiet park with good water pressure. We could use our Verizon phone, but not our aircard. Our Dish worked just fine. No complaints about the park, but I thought the price was a little high since there were no amenities. Cash only. Only has restrooms and shower, no laundry. We were within walking distance to the river, but it's difficult to access the water. Not sure if we would stay here again. The KOA in town looked pretty nice. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The space was a paved, level and long pull-thru. Watching the deer was enjoyable. Good star gazing. 8 miles out of town. The park is quiet, except for the permanent residents who run their diesel engines so long early in the morning. The old concrete restrooms and showers need a major cleaning and regular upkeep. A very nice, quiet, country campground. I echo everything the previous poster said but will add that they just finished blacktopping the pull-thru sites which are a tad narrow but quite long. We did have to use a board to level side-to-side. They feed the deer at 5:00 each evening in the middle of the field so everyone can watch. Wow! This was a real find. It is gorgeous!, secluded, and quiet. The surroundings are beautiful with the Llano river running behind the sites. Deer abound. I mean once we got set up in our rig, we were seeing deer from every window. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. We could only stay one night, because of a destination commitment, but not for that I could/would have stayed longer. Only downside is no Wi-Fi and my air card wouldn't work, but hey, who cares! A pleasant and very quiet campground located within walking distance to the S. Llano River. Manager is very friendly and helpful. One negative factor is the fairly long gravel road leading to the sites. You must drive slowly or your rig will be covered in dust. You must also look carefully for the entrance from the main road, since the sign isn't too visible This can be a BIG problem at night, since there are no lights. CG is located off of I-10, exit 451. Distance to Junction is approx. 10 miles to the east. All in all, not a bad place to spend a few days. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Yes, it's just 150 yards from I-10. Yes, the garbage cans were full and spilling over. Yes, it only has 12 sites, with a couple of them being occupied by local/long term workers. Yes, the bathroom/shower building is in dire need of repair; I don't believe it functioned. Yes, the sites are in a flat, grassy/gravel field behind the motel, next to an old cracked and run down tennis court. But! it is relatively quiet. We felt safe. Full hook ups with solid 30 amp power. Cordial and friendly gal at motel desk for check in. Pay your money and go pick a spot, no registration needed. Plenty of room for the biggest of rigs, pull through or back in. A welcome place to sleep at a great (Passport) rate in the middle of nowhere. AT&T cell phone good. Marginal Verizon air card. No shade to speak of so satellite TV is no problem. We lucked into this Campground because we were traveling the I-10 with a full black tank (lots of swaying) and needed a place to dump. We came out of Seguin, TX, at three o'clock in the afternoon, and found the River Valley RV Park and were very pleased with the entire experience. The staff at the motel were courteous and helpful and we had water, electricity (30 amp) and sewer. We occasionally got Wi-Fi, but it was erratic. For overnight (or two) this is a very good place to stay. We did not find the highway noise a problem ,and we ate in the restaurant at the gas station, and the food was excellent. Service even better. Thanks to all at Riverview Valley & Motel/Service Station! You saved us from a lot of grief looking for a place to dump our black tank. We really didn't want to drive much further in the wind and the trailer swaying badly. Between Seguin, TX ,and Fort Stockton this is a good stopping alternative. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Most sites aren't really pull-through, but there is enough solid grass around them to utilize them as pull-throughs. Hookups are "shared" between sites, which are quite close together. Electric is limited to 30a with old connections in fair condition. Contrary to the previous review, there are restrooms in the "RV park," but the building is pretty small. We did not check them out. Highway noise may bother some folks, but with double insulated windows and a/c fan running, we had a good night's sleep. With Passport America rate of $10 per night for up to two nights, we had no complaints in this location as a highway stopover. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were looking for a place to park our RV and just stay for the night, and depart the next morning. This park served our needs for that. The sewer, water and electric connections worked. The spaces were available on a first-come first-served basis. There were no bathrooms, showers, or laundry. There was quite a lack in courtesy, however. As there were no cable hookups or even local TV channels available, we asked to watch the television in the motel lobby. We were told no, it is for motel guests (who have TV and cable in each room, anyway). Don't ask for a donut or juice at the motel lobby breakfast, that is only for motel guests. We didn't even bother to ask about the motel swimming pool. The RV grounds have a gravel road and grass parking spaces, both very poorly maintained. The RV park at this Econolodge is apparently an afterthought and it's customers are not real "guests." We won't be coming back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We used this park for an overnight. The park hosts were very friendly and helpful. It's about 10 miles off the interstate. A very quiet and serene area with large oak trees and well maintained. This would be a great park if you enjoy nature trails and a peaceful setting. My only complaint was the $20 fee for camping plus the $8 entrance fee. We didn't purchase the Texas park pass (about $75) which would have saved some, but just thought the cost was high when compared to other states. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A very pleasant park. We only needed an overnight stop, but this would be a great place to spend some time. This was our first stay in a Texas state park and we didn’t realize entrance fees would be tacked on to the camping fee, something which hadn’t happened in state parks in other states. The Texas park pass is expensive ($70), but quickly pays for itself in waived entrance fees and the coupons for a few reduced camping fees, a good deal if one is going to be staying in very many Texas state parks. A wonderful Texas state park with nicely spaced campsites, some with paved slabs. There are lots of walking trails in the preserve area and down to the South Llano river. There is a bird sanctuary and blinds to observe the birds. Very friendly ranger who let us pick our own spot. We did not have any Verizon cell service here, the only negative. This is a lovely park with lots of hiking & biking trails and great birding. We loved watching the beautiful colourful birds at the numerous bird blinds the park has built. It's been about 8 years since we last visited, and the park remains a good place to visit. Well maintained with plenty of wildlife to view, this park on the western edge of the Texas Hill Country is a great place to bring the family. The South Llano River flows along the edge of the park, and it's wonderfully relaxing to play in it during the hot spring and summer days. Rio Grande turkeys roost in the park, and the trees are full of a large variety of birds (including hundreds of humming birds). The sites are large, well maintained and clean. The bathrooms were spotless. The camp sites on the upper area are lightly shaded by mesquite and have a lot of breezes, while those in the lower area a densely shaded by pecans, but have less wind coming through them. If you stay here, try to take a day and drive 60 miles west on I-10 to Sonora and visit the caverns there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here in record heat before trees leafed out; should be much cooler later in season. Also the spacious sites would be more private when foliage leafs out. There are no sites close to the river. Great staff at check-in; however a bit overbearing afterwards. Shortly after we set up, a ranger stopped by and politely asked us to back up our towed so that it was all on blacktop. No problem. Then, 30 minutes later another ranger asked us to move the car to a parking area because parking it across the front of the site damages the blacktop. But remarkably, our 1.5 ton Honda CRV was a hazard to the blacktop while our 13-ton MH was not. Excellent bird watching. Do not follow GPS; we did and found ourselves touring an outpost of Texas Tech. Instead, get on US377 and follow the signs to the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is a wonderful park!! So glad we found it. We planned an overnight and ended up staying 3 days. All sites are big and comfortable, with lots of trees. We had a back corner site and had deer and 30 - 50 wild turkey come right through our site every morning. The Tom's are breathtaking! We look forward to returning on another trip. You can stay at the KOA for $40/night right next to I-10, or you can drive about 5mi and stay here in a beautiful place with wild turkey and deer for $17. We've visited many TX state parks and as far as trailer sites this is one of the nicest. If you are looking, this park as a destination keep in mind that most of it, including almost all river access, is closed (and I mean closed to everyone on foot, bike, car, or horse) from Oct-Apr for the turkey roost. Very nice, clean park; typical of Texas State Parks, maybe a cut above. The price reflects using the Texas St. Park Pass to cover the entrance fee, and the use of one 50% discount coupon. We had a very nice, secluded site, #21. Lots of opportunities for biking, wildlife and bird watching. A large portion of the park is a designated Turkey Roost area and was closed to hiking. Beautiful state park. It has shade trees, level cement pads, clean park, and very friendly staff, lots of great hiking trails. The bird blinds are awesome. There is a catch and release lake. This is a very nice state park with lots of wildlife (deer, turkey, armadillo). There are four separate bird blinds with feeders, so if you are a bird watcher or photographer this is a great place. At&T cell phones worked well, but I couldn't get my Verizon broadband to work, even with an external antenna and amplifier. Hosts were very friendly, and we didn't run across the "militant" park rangers that others have mentioned. We were there on weeknights, so there were few folks in the park, and it was very quiet. This is a great SP with clean facilities, nice staff and fun in the Llano River. The only thing that falls short of this being a 10 was the park ranger who is beyond militant about their rules. We travel in a toy hauler with street bikes and had them in the grass under a tree. He made us move our truck to overflow so we could get the bikes back on the pavement. They also were a bit too harsh on our neighbors (who already asked us to tell them if they were too loud) after 10pm. We didn't hear them at all and the ranger told them to quiet down. We also had some kid in a truck, pass another truck in the park on a curve and we almost had to go off-road on our motorcycle. We followed him, pointed him out to the ranger and the ranger said, "Too bad I didn't see it." So they were way too militant about their rules but not interested in dealing with dangerous driving. The park would be a 10 if it weren't for those odd interactions with the ranger. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here in a tent trailer during the week, and there were maybe 6 other sites occupied in the whole park. The sites are a little close together for my liking, but that would only be an issue if the park were full, plus there was vegetation separating them in some sites. Most sites have total or partial shade, with large oak trees and native shrubs abounding. The sites are mostly level, all have very nice covered picnic tables and fire rings. The bathrooms were, by far, the cleanest and nicest I've seen at a Texas State Park. They were very well maintained. The park feels secluded, although you can hear the nearby highway pretty easily, so that kind of ruins the nature feeling. The park staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They have a neat little room at the park headquarters for kids with skulls and pelts from wild animals of the area. They also have activity books and coloring pages. The bird blinds were a fun aside. They feed the birds every morning and provide nice covered blinds for you to observe them. The scenic overlook was nice, and swimming/picnic area was nice as well. The swimming area is a tad overgrown, and probably wouldn't accommodate a ton of people, but was fun for the kids. There was also lots of wildlife to observe including deer, rabbits, turkeys, cardinals, and antelope (kept in a ranch near the entrance). The park is almost always booked on the weekends during the spring and summer, so go during the week if you want privacy and space. This was a great park we plan on visiting again. We had been regulars at this park. The park supervisor must have changed and so did the atmosphere of this park. The staff patrolled often, which it good, but seemed only to look for things to fuss at people about. They came around at 9:30 PM and told you that at 10:00 you couldn't make a sound, then at 10:00 if you were still out they came again and let you know to only whisper, no radios were allowed past then. They also were on the hill at the swimming hole with binos looking for "violations" and handing out tickets. We will not return until the staff does. Otherwise, a nice park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

CG is clean, well kept and secure. Park rangers patrolled often. Camp hosts were very available if needed. Bathrooms were clean with paved sidewalks from some of the campsites to them. Sites were paved and level and hookups easy to get to. River is too far away for a short jaunt to fish. NO TV reception on antenna. AT&T cell phone at 5 bars. Many campers strolling through CG during day but quiet at night. We enjoyed our stay. Will probably not return, but try other Texas state parks. Variety is spice of life. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nightly rate does not reflect $3 per person, per day park use fee: buy a TX Parks Pass! Clean, quiet, extremely well maintained park with a friendly and helpful staff. A jewel of the TX Parks System! Asphalt roads and sites, sites are level back-ins and in varying lengths. Water and electric connections are near the front. There is NO over-the-air TV reception. You must use a satellite dish. Alltel cell is 1-2 bars and weather radio reception is excellent. The park has four year round bird viewing blinds. LOTS of birds are resident and many more pass through while migrating. Turkey and deer abound. NOTE: from Oct 1st through April 1st, part of the park is closed for turkey roosting. The closed area includes some easy trails and walkways by the river; however, river access for fishing is available year round. The park rents tubes in the warmer months. There are miles of hiking and fat tire biking trails of varying length and difficulty that are always open. There is also a gravel bike/hike trail suitable for all bikes, open year round. The park is extremely popular during the weekends and summer months, at other times, there are few campers. Call ahead for site availability. Junction is 5 miles away for food, fuel, propane, etc. The town's excellent public library offers free Wi-Fi and an outstanding book exchange. This is my seventh visit over the years and each time I stay, I see improvements. Definitely a "destination park." I upgraded my previous ratings from "9" to "10" and give it my highest recommendation. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very quite, friendly camp ground. Lots and lots of wildlife. (turkeys & deer abound) Great trails, bird watching blinds, fun swimming hole. We went with friends and had a great time. We will return. I think the late fall would be great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here overnight while passing thru. Park was clean, had asphalt pads and roads and sites were generally well spaced. Most of the tables were covered and most of the sites had some shade. As with most Texas State Parks, a number of the sites would not be suitable for big rigs. The park is located adjacent to a wildlife management area, so there are plenty of deer and turkey in the park. The park also has several miles of river frontage suitable for tubing or fishing. We would definitely stay in this park again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a green, shady state park on the South Llano river. A virtual oasis in the hot desert region located on the border between Central and West Texas. There is no TV, no Wi-Fi, no sewer and only minimal cell phone service. There is plenty of wildlife both near the camp sites and in the turkey roosting areas down by the river. There are plenty of hiking trails, and you can find one to suit the length of time you want to spend walking. You can rent tubes for floating on the river. It's a completely restful place. They fill up on weekends so call ahead to get your name on their list. About half the sites have shelters over the picnic tables so look for them if that's important to you. All picnic tables are on concrete pads. Interior roads are all paved and all sites are mostly level concrete pads. Most sites are shaded. The restrooms are the cleanest we've ever seen in a state park in any state. They have a handy double dump station on the way out of the park. The office staff here is exceptionally helpful. We plan to return here. With our discounts we ended up paying $11.25 per night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We came for two days and stayed ten. We really enjoyed the quiet, the wildlife watching: right from the RV, and the bike riding. We would most definitely return, but only after April first when the entire park and adjoining Wildlife Management Area are fully opened. Prior to this time much is closed as the numerous wild turkeys are roosting. Wildlife Area provides some rugged mountain biking, but there are miles of flat, easy biking near the campground. The bird blinds are great. Saw many colorful birds and got some great pictures. Enjoyed nature hikes and talks lead by the naturalist. We've stayed in 8 Texas State Parks on this trip and this was our favorite. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is located 4 miles south of Junction, TX about 0.5 miles from the South Llano River. It is secluded and away from road noise. It is wooded and provides shade for most sites although it does not obstruct the view for satellite TV. The interior roads and sites are paved. The sites are spaced far apart and each has water, electricity, picnic table, fire ring, and a light pole. All sites are back-in but are angled, making parking easy. Large RVs will fit into most sites but there may not be enough room for the tow vehicle or the towed vehicle. Wildlife is abundant and hummingbirds were everywhere at this time of year (April 15). There is an adjacent Wildlife Management Area with miles of hiking and biking trails. There is a separate walk-in tent area in the Wildlife Management Area with a large nearby parking lot. The campground fee is $15 but each person must pay a entry fee of $2. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent birding park, always clean and neat. River tubing is popular, biking and hiking. Be advised there is NO OVER THE AIR TV reception; must use Dish/DirecTV. Alltel cell worked fine, good WTX. LOTS of greenery, birds, deer and turkey. Plenty of hiking/biking. Spring through Fall weekends are crowded and you MUST have a reservation, but weekdays are fine. Negative (IMO). Management allows tents in RV sites, which I don't agree with. There is a tent specific area but has no electric: so. Definitely recommend as a place to stay for days or weeks. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Awesome campground! Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of wildlife including deer, turkey and many different species of birds. Bird watchers will really appreciate the well maintained bird blinds. Great hike and bike trails. Tubing on the South Llano River is a blast. Very family oriented park with many very nice, shaded back-in RV sites. The only reason I didn't give this campground a 10 was that an enormous storm caused the river to flow over the bridge at the entrance of the park causing the staff to close the park for 24 hours... no one in and no one out (except for an emergency exit road that could not accommodate towed trailers or motorhomes). While extremely rare, it can happen. This is our favorite campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were surprised regarding how nice the park was. It's a little bit of ways from the Interstate (10 miles approx.) but, easy to get to. It has paved roads and paved, level sites. The restrooms are very clean. The park is well worth staying in. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

6 miles west of Junction Texas on the Llano River. All sites average 45 feet in length
and are seperated by oak trees. More than enough room for awnings without interfering with the site next to yours. Deer and turkey walk freely through
your campsite; well marked trails to wildlife viewing blinds. Day use area that allows tubing and swimming on the Llano River is 1 mile from camping area.
We enjoyed the experience so much we will return over the Christmas holiday. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
