This is our second trip to Admiralty, and our last. On our first trip, we were a little put off by all the adult only feel of the park...for a park this close to Sea World you would think they would appeal more to families, but they do not. That being said we decided to stay here again because we didn't know the area and other parks around. We wish we would have gone to another park near by. The sites are just too close together. The Wi-Fi works about 5% of the time. It is free but have had to use our Verizon air card for actual service. Our main complaint is the office hours. We took the free shuttle to Sea World then back to the park in which we arrived back at the RV park at 4:55 pm...they had already locked up the office and I needed a bag of ice. I saw them in there and knocked and they said..."sorry we're closed, should have gotten here earlier". OK, how could we get there earlier when we took THEIR shuttle from Sea World. Would office hours of 5:30 kill them? Secondly, this park is getting run down. Last year it was "cleaner". This year our little 4x6 patio is all weeds and to sit out there and try to grill in that mess, I got ate up by the bugs. Play ground needs a refresh, pads need to be cleaned up. Attitude towards guests paying premium needs to be adjusted. There is another RV park near by that is cleaner, has longer office hours, and free shuttle to and from Sea World. Shame on us for not listening to those who said so. Now we know for sure. Now we know why this park is empty. Word must be getting around. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The Park is 25 years old, therefore longest site is 60 ft. Width is tight but there are concrete pads, brick patios, and a small picnic table. We put out our awning and were about 5 ft. away from the neighbor's sewer hook up. It is very convenient to Seaworld. About 18 miles from downtown San Antonio. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Some sites have a significant downward exit slope. Others are flat.There are clean restrooms and a large pool. There is a small playground and an air conditioned clean laundry. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park/campground. It rained heavily one night creating a large pool at my RV entrance door. Park management layered a portable entrance "moat" which made it an easy "in & out". A free shuttle service is available to Seaworld. The sites, concrete & level, are a bit small for some of the larger big rigs, but was adequate for my 32 foot 5'vr. A city bus stop into San Antonio is a short walk from the entrance. Don't miss an opportunity to visit the San Antonio Symphony in performance at it's digs in the Majestic Theatre. The architectural detail inside is mind boggling. The Admiralty staff and services provided were superb. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here 2 nights, not sure I would have lasted any longer. This is a noisy campground in the mornings. Trucks coming and going at 5:30-6:00 am, were very loud and woke me up both mornings. Sites are very close and all concrete. Office staff was very nice and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall good park. Helpful local info at check in. Paved streets and hard pads. Sites are very tight - length and width. Big rigs with slides out will fill the space between sites. Good neighborhood, close to shopping. Nice pool. Some sites are partially shaded. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our third time at this park. This park is super clean, extremely friendly staff and very convenient to see San Antonio. Catch the bus at the corner, schedule a trip in the office or shuttle to Sea World. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The workampers here are very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms and showers are clean. Each shower has it's own door that locks. There is a nice dog run. The heated pool is nice, but it was very cold. The sites are very tight. We barely had enough room to park our car sideways in front of our 40' motorhome. Our slide was almost touching our neighbor's slide. The resort was very clean. There is an extra nightly charge of $3 per child. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I stayed in Admiralty for a month in January. The park is centrally located and well maintained. They claim "free Wi-Fi" but neither I nor any of my neighbors could maintain a good connection. We all complained and got a variety of excuses but no results! Sites were somewhat narrow for "big rigs". The park is 30 years old. The staff were all work campers and they were very courteous but they were not allowed to help out with any matter. One guy came back to help me after his shift was up. He said they were not even supposed to talk to campers! Probably wouldn't stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This resort is wonderful. It has the friendliest staff ever. Would definitely return. Made great friends and they have fantastic day trips, bingo, and alot of other amenities. Hot tub was a plus, but it's the people here that make a difference. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff during evening check-in. Stepped into mud in between sites, but others I noticed had grass. Just bad luck, but be forewarned. Also, someone played music about two hours past 10:00 posted quiet time without staff intervention. Still, very nice, and virtually a neighbor of Seaworld. Very close to shopping center with helpful handout noting locations of stores on check in. Night guard recommended a pressure regulator for water hookup. We camped here in a Motorhome.

People were friendly. The manager seemed very nice as opposed to other reviews, but we did not have any issues either. We were here for a month. The sites are so small, they have a blue line on which your tires have to be located, so the people next door can get their awning and slides out. There was not 6 inches between our awning and the next unit. Other than that, it is a lovely park with a beautiful pool. I would stay again short term, the sites are too small for long term. Pros: Nice park with clean pools and spa. Super fast Verizon Broadband coverage; easy access to shopping and freeways. Cons: Spots were a little tight and the streets flooded quickly during rains; Park needs to work on monitoring speed limits a little more as people raced around the streets; a couple of the camp hosts took their jobs a bit too seriously (We were rolling out of the spot at 12:05 and a gentleman pulled up and instructed us to check-in at the office to pay for the extra time... 5 minutes?) Overall a good park. Use caution pulling in and out though; San Antonians are some crazy drivers. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very clean, well run park. Stayed 3 nights and wish we had more time. Pool and spa area cleanest we've seen, and with all the tress around them, I don't know how they do it. Very nice dog turnouts. We stayed here from Oct. 26 through Nov. 8. They have a shuttle that takes you to Sea World (much better than driving and paying for parking). We also took a city bus, that picked us up right outside the RV park and we got off right in front of the River Walk. The staff are so very helpful and were always very friendly. The park is very clean. The Wi-Fi worked great, except for a minor glitch once or twice. But that seems to be the case at most RV Parks. It had a very nice pool that was kept very warm for this time of the year. We definitely will come back the next time we are in San Antonio. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our first visit to San Antonio. We were unsure as where to stay. We picked this RV resort using RV park reviews to decide. What a great choice! The resort is very well maintained with a very accommodating staff. Excellent facilities throughout the resort. All pull through sites are long enough to allow both RV and toad as well. All roads are paved and the sites are concrete. Easy access to anywhere in the city from the resort. The rate is with Good Sam discount and included free Wi-Fi. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here last year too. I was surprised that one of the three bathroom/shower buildings was closed. The second one had all the showers closed. Only the main bathroom/shower building was open. I wish they would have parked us closer to that one. The staff was very helpful. Nice concrete and grass sites. We love the San Antonio River Walk. Will stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice and clean park, but lots of full timers which appear junky. The staff is wonderful, no complaints there. WiFi is very expensive, and this park is miles from any sight seeing. Also there is supposed to be a restriction on number of dogs and when asked they "make exceptions." People next to us let their dog do its "business" and didn't clean up. I am disgusted and would not recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We usually perceive reviews of RV parks we wish to visit as the gold standard prior to visiting each park; however, on the occasion of visiting this park, we neglected to read the reviews prior to making our reservations and were therefore skeptical of what our committed visit would be like. Several of the reviews listed uncomplimentary comments regarding the hospitality of the staff as well as the size of the sites. While it is true that the sites were smaller than we desire, they were level and easily accessible. The park was exceedingly clean, but above all, its staff was remarkably friendly and accommodating. One could not expect to have friendlier hosts and hostesses as those who attended our needs at this park. It is therefore our opinion that each traveler could be creating his or her own environment when relating to those who provide service to us. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I came to Admiralty in the late 90s and it was one of the best parks in the state. Now it is surrounded by a housing development which really destroys the the sense of privacy. There is a high school just down the road, and off course the kids come flying by in their cars. This area has been developed with housing, and the park is just not what it once was. I will not be coming back and do not recommend the park, or even this area of town to anyone looking to relax. We camped here in a Motorhome.

They have begun charging for electricity after the first $45 dollar of usage. My bill in the month of December was 63 dollars. They are very strict about their 7 mile per hour speed limit and will send you written and verbal notice even if you were leaving at 6 AM going ten miles per hour. I was not allowed to use my fire pit and during the winter it would have been nice. I will probably leave in February and go to their main competition- Blazing Star down the road where it is 30 dollars more per month 520; versus the 490 here, but electric is included over there and you can use your fire pit;also the sites are twice the size as here at Admiralty where your neighbor is 8 ft from your front door. The place when full at this time of year looks like a parking lot. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a don't go there campground. The managers are rude and yelling at campers constantly. We were rudely yelled at and given a written warning for exceeding the 5 mph speed limit while going 7mph. The manager was standing by the office and couldn't possibly know how slow/fast we were going. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was listed in my "Big Rigs" book as a place that can accommodate 40 foot and larger coaches. Based on that, I reserved a site and planned to stay for 2 weeks. While all the sites are pull-throughs, there was very little extra room and parking our Jeep Grand Cherokee became an issue. Twice we were approached by staff persons asking us to move the vehicle. In both instances, the requests seemed relatively trivial and picky ( i.e."the edge of the tire is on the patio bricks and that is not allowed"). Obviously, we all want to be good neighbors and would not want to inconvenience another camper or obstruct traffic, etc. But these parking issues were closer to harassment! The second time the request came during our dinner and was expressed more as an immediate demand than as a request. Since there was no satisfactory place to put the car and we were growing weary of fighting with park staffers, we decided to check out early and find a park with more space for our rig and car. We also overheard the manager bragging to other staffers that she would not take any grief from any campers. We sensed a real negative attitude there. We would not go back! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park with limited trees for shade. Great pool. Very nice office staff, but was mis-quoted on rate due to bringing along 2 grand daughters. Surprised when I checked in. Sites are 20 ft. wide with 10 ft. concrete pads with room for a 45 ft. MH and a car. Very close to Sea World; they have a shuttle to save on parking. Would stay here again. The park was very clean. The bathrooms and laundry were wonderful. The pool was great. The managers of the park were the rudest of any place we have ever stayed. They went thru the park like prison wardens, and did not hesitate to yell at anyone who displeased them. Never during our forty years of camping have we seen any park where guests were so rudely treated. It made our stay so unpleasant, but we could not leave as they would not give a refund. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent park. The registration folks were very nice and very helpful. The site was not real wide but plenty long for a 45 foot motorhome. There was a gravel spot next to the pad to park our toad. The grass between sites was not very nice. The pool was outstanding as was the spa. The workout room left something to be desired. The equipment was old and cheap, some broken. Showers near the pool were very clean. They have a lot of rules and they must be followed. This is good, as it keeps the place a pleasant place to stay. Location is convenient to Sea World and close to a freeway that leads into the Downtown area. WiFi (for a fee) worked well, and they do allow you to wash your rig. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park was clean, as were the bathrooms. But the showers in the back and sides of this park were closed and we had to hoof it all the way to the front of the park for a shower. This wasn't a cheap park so I think it was very cheap of them to close the showers in the area of the park where they put the short-term people. The people in the office were polite but not friendly. Beautiful pool and hot tub area. Sites are really close together. Staff very friendly and helpful. No refunds or credits after hook ups. They are a Good Sam park and also Passport America but will not offer you the discount (THEIR POLICY) better tell them are you will not get the discounted price. WI-FI is 4.95 per night extra. No place to walk dogs have a very small place fenced for the dogs to go to. Nice location to stay to visit San Antonia River Walk and Alamo Etc. Our problems began on arrival. We had called ahead for reservations. At that time we asked if they were pet friendly and they said yes. We told them that we had a Samoyed and a Keeshond. Neither their advertisement in nor their write-up in the Trailer Life Directory mentioned any pet restrictions. However, on arrival we were told that our Samoyed exceeded their size requirement and that he would have to be inspected and approved. After approving him, we were told in a very snotty way that they would allow us the special privilege of staying in their park. We were also informed that we had to pay a $3/hr early arrival fee to enter this half empty park. Then this "Big Rig Friendly" park proceeded to take us to a site that was very difficult to get into because of an electrical box. The concrete slab also had an approximately 12" drop-off on one side. I certainly didn't want to go off this pad. I asked if it would be possible to move several sites down where it would be easier and was told no. These sites remained empty during our entire stay. After getting hooked up, we decided to let our Samoyed get some fresh air so we hooked him up outside and went inside to make ourselves a drink. Almost immediately someone was at our door informing us that we had to remain outside with the dog. Their rules stated only that you could not leave your site and leave a pet outside. They simply said that they had the right to change the rules at any time. They also stated that we had to shorten his lead so he couldn't get to the neighbor's lot. We pointed out the the people next to us were our friends and loved our dogs visiting theirs. We were told that this would not be acceptable because then everyone else in the campground would violate this rule. We saw several incidents where someone would be doing something just a little wrong and someone would be there to tell them about it. It seemed as though someone was riding around constantly just looking for violations. Needless to say we will never even come close to this place again. And also we have been traveling for years and have had our mail forwarded to us by FMCA. It has been very reliable - until our stay at Admiralty. We had mail sent there and we haven't seen it yet. But again we did violate their rules by not asking permission first. Never, ever again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is monthly rate, which includes electric. We spent December through March in this attractive park, which is conveniently located to all San Antonio has to offer. It has fairly narrow concrete sites with patio and picnic tables. The pool and spa are exceptionally nice, as is the laundry room, which has all new equipment. There are a few trees and some grass in the park. Roads are paved but need some repair. The staff is great. Many activities are offered. The property is kept in generally excellent shape, except for the roads. Picnic tables are in the process of being repainted. Trash is picked up at your site daily. Guests are guided to their sites. Shuttle service is offered to nearby Sea World when it is open. The free Cable TV is good. Tengo Net WiFi is offered for a fee but we did not use it because we have a Sprint Aircard, which worked well. The primary complaint we have, which is no fault of the park, are the dogs in the surrounding neighborhood, which is divided from the park only by a fence. They bark a lot,m including during the night. There are also lots of children in those homes who make a lot of noise playing outside into the evening hours. There is almost no road noise, however. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here and will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

"Lady, you wanna go to Sea World or what?" - Manager Admiralty RV. I really don't know how to review this park. We really enjoyed ourselves. However one impression will stick with us, and I don't know if I would recommend this park to others, or stay here again. The park is very nice. Everything is super clean, including the bathrooms and heated huge pool. Most of the sites are pull through, although we stayed in a back in. I've read some folks thought the sites were too small. Honestly they are narrow. If you have a large trailer with large slides you may have to choose between a picnic table or your slides. Other than that the sites are wonderful. Just based on the park facilities, I loved it. Admiralty is in a great, great, great location to Sea World. You can see and hear it from the park. You can also walk a block an catch the VIA city bus to downtown. You could even walk to Sea World if you wanted, although it's a bit more than a mile. We stayed at this park (as it appeared most do for it's proximity to Sea World and it's "courtesy shuttle"). Ok, here is what I didn't like. You have to sign up for the shuttle. Everything says that it only runs if someone is signed up. It leaves the park on the hour, and leaves Sea World 15 min past the hour. We planned to leave for Sea World when it opened, return for a late lunch, and then go back to Sea World till it closed. We signed up when we checked in the day before (many other families had signed up for the same). When the shuttle came to pick us up the next day we met the manager. He told us that he was the park manager, the shuttle was only a courtesy the park provided not a service and He would drop us off once, and pick us up once. When my wife, and several others protested, He told my wife, "Lady, are you going to Sea World or what?" Honestly, after talking to a co-manager, everything was corrected. We got to Sea World and back as planned. The night driver was awesome! I loved the family atmosphere of the park, but the way my wife was spoken to, really disturbed me. It's a great park, and other than that manager, everyone else was super friendly. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Pros: Close to Sea World and they run a shuttle, 30 min. drive to downtown San Antonio. Rates are reasonable. They accept AAA, Good Sam, and Passport America (restrictions apply). Management was starting to clean the place up a bit while we were there, trimming trees, planting flowers, etc. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cons: Spaces are very tight and for larger rigs over 34 ft. w/toad this can be a problem. There is a great deal of noise from emergency sirens, diesel trucks early in the morning, and dogs bark constantly. CATV is fuzzy at some sites. WiFi works most of the time, but can be unreliable. There is a drought going on in South TX (fire ban in effect), the grounds and shrubs are suffering as a result. There was no hot water in the "satellite" bath houses. There was hot water in the main bath house by the pool. A few of the washing machines didn't work well and one dryer was not working. Feral cats are loose in the park grounds and unfortunately guests feed them, so they hang around. Stray dogs from surrounding neighborhoods can also be an issue. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great park on the west side of S.A., even though the WIFI is not free (Tengo), cable and electric are included in the site fees. As mentioned in previous reviews, you do park close to your neighbor. Liked the concrete pads, so there was no mud during the rain while we were there. Thing that sold me was the city bus that comes within a 1/2 mile of the park, which will take you downtown without having to drive, park, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice clean park. You park on concrete. Sites are somewhat narrow, so don't arrive after dark. Loved the Jacuzzi/hot tub. Close enough to San Antonio to get downtown in 15 minutes. Very close to Sea World and Randolph AFB. The only bad thing about the park is that the managers insist on clumping everyone right next to each other rather than spreading people out. We were there for a month and the park was never more than half full. Yet there we were, all parked in one section. We camped here in a Motorhome.

When you enter the park you have to play ring around the rosy to check in. That means you have to go around a circle, stop, check in and then follow a person around the circle again to go to your site. The sites are tooooo narrow for a big rig with slides. One of my slides hung over the neighboring sites pad! There is a 6 inch drop off on each side of the pad. You had better get to know what you are doing or you could blow a sidewall! The park is located next to a residential area and one of the homeowner's dogs barked all night. A rude trailer owner next door came home at 1AM and set his loud car alarm off twice trying to set it. First, if your horn sounds when you are setting your alarm just use your key, stupid. Don't wake others around you! Two thirds of the park was empty and they put me in between the one third that was full. How stupid is that? The restrooms were under construction and were nasty. The interior roads were paved but, like the pads, very narrow. The pull throughs require you to unhook your toad and are 45 feet long. My motorhome is 40'. We were lied to and told we did not have to unhook our toad! We only stayed here one night and will never stay here again. I find it hard to believe someone would spend $44 dollars a night to stay in this park. Even the Passport America's $18 dollar rate is too much to be in a sardine can. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Close to Sea World but not very kids friendly. No persons under 16 allowed in the pool without adult supervision. Same applies to the TV/media room. We experienced 14 and 15 year old teens getting kicked out of the pool area; very rude since they did not show up with their parents. No persons under 18 allowed in the hot tub at all. Very disappointing for my kids. In addition the pool was murky and laundry equipment did not work very well. Sorry but I do not want to keep my kids on on a leash when going camping. The RV park is pretty and well kept. Pool is very large, nice and heated. The main down side to the park is the tightness of the sites. When you open your slides and awning you are within a few feet of the RV next to you. CAUTION! Large rigs may have trouble turning into and turning out of the very tight concrete parking sites. You can see lots of scrape marks in the concrete made by the rear of RV's exiting the sites. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the friendliest parks we have been to. We stayed a week and even before we could get pulled into our site, people were calling out "welcomes". Sites are a little short and close together but were adequate for our 37' 5th wheel and pickup in front when neighbors moved their vehicles so we could get into the site. Did not even have to ask them, they just said "wait a minute and let me get my keys so you can have more room." Trash pick up at site was nice as were the rest of the amenities. We stayed here on our way to the Hill Country because we wanted to take in the San Antonio RV show. This is a typical large, big city RV park with lots of spaces and lots of RV's. That being said, it is well laid out, very clean and nice. We had a large, wide, level pull through space, with good hookups. The office staff were really accommodating, and even gave us a pass to the RV Show (they were one of the sponsors). This appears to be a good home base for San Antonio sightseeing. It is a couple of blocks from Sea World, and is close enough to freeways to make going to other attractions such as Fiesta Texas, the Alamo, etc., fairly easy. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

On return to the campground from Seaworld, had to wait approximately one hour for shuttle even though scheduled to be picked up. After a couple of calls was finally picked up. This park is an OK place to stay in San Antonio. They were supposed to get me to a $27 rear site when I called and reserved, but when I got there it turned into a $32 site because the $27 sites were not available, but I saw available $27 sites open when I was there. I might recommend you secure your site number and nail down a firm rate before arrival. The park was nice and clean and the people were OK. I think the rate was high for what is there. The sites are a little narrow for a higher rating or the nightly rate they charge in my opinion- you are real close to your neighbor. Across the street there was an awning and the neighbor's slide almost touching. The park is clean and quiet and there is a small fenced dog area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

there were so many vehicles around it was hard to drive a car in and out, let alone our coach. Reasonable amenities, although continental breakfast means coffee only. Staff does things really slow. They have a problem with on line reservations, which is how we booked our site. After making a reservation we showed up to a full park. Took some discussion, but they finally put us into a back in slot (our reservation was for a pull through). Chances are, we simply created a problem for someone else coming in later. Spent the month of March at this park. Picked sight unseen, based on the TL 10/10/10 rating. One of the most beautifully maintained parks I've seen. Everything was new and spotless and could not give anything but an excellent rating based on TL rating system. HOWEVER, if the rating was based on size of site, it would be a "0". The pull thru sites (which are the majority) are so narrow, my awning was hitting the next rig. I couldn't even put my window awnings out on the side opposite the patio awning. If the lack of privacy doesn't bother you, then this is a beautiful place. We camped here in a camper.

WOW! This is what I expect from a "RV Resort". Stayed here for 5 nights and used the complimentary Sea World shuttle twice to save $30 in parking charges. VERY CLEAN bath houses. The whole park was very well maintained. I have picked the spot I will request next time, as the neighboring RV's slide was about 6" from our awning (we got along great, so didn't matter too much). Trailer Life needs to update their books. This is NOT a 10. There is no way. The front entrance is nice, but the staff was not extremely friendly. The roads are not in the best shape, but the pads are ok. The width of the "middle of the road" sites (they charge by the width of the site) is nothing to shout about. A postage stamp patio and our neighbors postage stamp was so close that if they leaned back in their camp chairs they would hit our slide. There is a nice pool and good TV channels. The Wi-Fi is another story: I'm going to stop going to campgrounds that charge for internet. Paying 51 a night then having to pony up $4 more is ridiculous. Just tell me that the price is $55 and that the Wi-Fi is free! No codes no tangle-net or passwords or whatever. I would try something else if I am back in San Antonio again. Nice park with almost all sites somewhat shaded. It was very clean and the lawns were mowed. The rate was reasonable for the amenities they have available. The playground would be fun for young kids under 5, but mine enjoyed the basketball court and pool instead. I don't know the condition of the phone / cable TV / Wi-Fi, but I know you have to pay for them. Some tight turns; I had to back up one time with my 33' rig. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a Good Sam weekday rate: the rate is $5 more on the weekends. We'd stayed here 1 night 10 days earlier and if I'd written the review then I would have given it an 8 or 9, but this time the site they gave us was so unlevel that after 4 attempts both manually and automatically trying to level we went to the office and requested the perfectly level site we had on our first stay. The park itself was quiet but there is a great deal of traffic noise from highway 1604 which we only noticed with our windows open. The Wi-Fi is not free but we found our Verizon aircard to work very well. We had no trouble with all the trees in the park but you do have to watch them both on the roads and in your site. We stayed here one month, so the rate is based on the monthly rate. The office staff is friendly. We would have given an 8, but they charged for Wi-Fi and tolerated barking dogs (even at 5:30 am). We are dog lovers, but leaving a dog outside barking almost all the time is not a "neighbor-friendly" behavior. The first site they put us on had an excessive slope, so we had to move. The next site worked well. Also, the trees made it difficult to maneuver in some areas (we saw a fifth wheel that was unable to get into their assigned site)--it was VERY tight leaving the first site we were assigned. I would say the word "luxury" should be removed from the name, but it was a nice park with plenty of amenities. Very close to Sea World and near a ton of shopping and restaurants (but the traffic on 1604 is always heavy). Also, only one activity in the park in December (a New Year's Eve pot luck). We would stay here again. The exercise room was nice. They say they have phone service at each site, but it was a service you had to have turned on with the phone company (not "instant"). We camped here in a Motorhome.

Person who burglarized several rigs was an inside job and did not enter from the outside. Dogs are patrolled; dog fences are allowed and look unsightly; lots of dog droppings can be found around the park; carry a stick or something when walking; park is going downhill; some rigs are really junky looking; people constantly speed and go the wrong way; no one appears to monitor or correct any of these behaviors. Pro: Within 2 miles of Sea World, concrete pads, asphalt roads, wi-fi, and clean pool. Con: Narrow roads, very unlevel pads, filthy bathrooms, and teen-agers working counter…typical corporate owned rv park. You can get a 40’ motorhome in the park but you must unhook before entering park area…definitely not big-rig friendly. I had to back up to make the tight 120 degree turn onto the twelve foot wide road leading to the parking site. Utilities were within ten inches of pad, picnic table was within six inches of the pad, a tree was too close to extend slide awning, and sewer hose ran uphill to drain. You must go to the office to pay $5 per day for wi-fi and to obtain a code for log-on but they don’t tell you that when you check-in. Definitely will not return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is nicely located on the edge of San Antonio. It is minutes from Sea World and Fiesta Texas and if you don't drive during rush hours, you are only about 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio and the Alamo. It is very close to a very busy road (1604) which gives a constant sound of traffic when you are outside, but it's not so bad that you can't sleep. The showers/changing rooms were not especially clean, but worked for a quick change to get in the pool. The pool was very nice. The main pool was heated, which was nice since it was still a bit cold when we visited. But the kiddie pool is not heated. The playground was a nice plastic playscape that was friendly for toddlers without being borrowing for the older kids. The sites were adequate sized with enough room between them. We could extend our awning without getting close to the next site. The slabs were level and I didn't need to do anything special to get fully level. They expected to give WiFi again in a week or so. They refused to provide me a refund. The 3rd party refused as well. In the end, I decided that the $20 wasn't worth my trouble. UPDATE!! UPDATE!! The park was nice except for somebody breaking into my truck and taking my camcorder, my Ipod headphones and breaking my door lock. They did this at 10:30 P.M.. I got the feeling that this has occurred at this park often by the way the staff behaved. Beware when you are at this park and be very cautous of were they place you in conjunction with the creek and woods as this allows for theives to come and go without you seeing them. DO NOT pay to use the RV Parks Wi-Fi service provided by a rv park wifi provider. It is overpriced and does not work well. It is the worst Wi-Fi service I have ever paid for. Many RV Parks free Wi-Fi service works better. We will not use the Wi-Fi service here again, nor will we ever use a Wi-Fi service provided by them in another RV park. The Nightly rate of $20 is based on the monthly rate of $610. Daily rate is $40 to $52. In spite of the really poor Wi-Fi, Blazing Star is the nicest, although the most expensive RV Park in San Antonio. The swimming pool is large, well maintained and heated all winter. The park grounds are very nice and well maintained. Staff is helpful and friendly. We stayed here for 2 months in 2007, 4 months in 2008/9 and will return again in 2009/10. This park is very clean but the website is misleading. They state that there is a hot tub, but they no longer have one. They also state that they sell discount tickets to area attractions, but they do not. Also, the first day when we took our RV out to go to Sea World we came back to find our hose had been stolen. The management seemed unconcerned by the theft, when I questioned if someone from maintenance might have picked it up thinking we had checked out. We will not stay here again. Very pretty, concrete paved sites with nice grass and trees surrounding the sites. The pool is very nice, large and clean. We think this is the nicest RV park in the San Antonio area. Three price levels for the RV sites. Cheapest for sites with about 15' from your front door to next site, mid price for about 20'-25' to next site and most expensive for 30' to 75' to next site. Staff is very friendly and helpful. This is probably the most expensive RV Park in San Antonio, but it is also the nicest. WiFi upgraded in fall of 2007, good access from most all sites. I believe we paid $30-35 a month for WiFi, not cheap but works pretty well for a RV Park WiFi. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice place. Very easy to get in and around, most sites have some shade, and all have level concrete pads. Family friendly, well maintained, only downside was they charged for WIFI access @ $3.95 per day. When we were here the WIFI was down, seems like at these prices it should be included, as in comparison to other parks of like value and features. We would come back again, however just down the road 2 miles is another RV park worth looking into, “Admiralty RV Resort.†We drove thru and was equal in appearance to Blazing Star. A great choice to stay at while visiting San Antonio. The staff is friendly, the facilities are clean and very well planned for a park this size. Although under new ownership, the manager is a long time employee and is running the campground much like the old owners. Campground is very clean and well maintained. Sites are well spaced and some have extra patio areas. Staff very friendly and helpful. The pool is heated and cleaned regularly. The playground is small, but adequate for smaller children. The park is very convenient to SeaWorld, and a shuttle runs at predetermined times. It is about a 30 minute drive to downtown or Six Flags Fiesta Texas, but the access is easy and convenient. During our stay, we had friends who stayed in the cabins, which were also very nice and clean. They are intermingled with the campsites making it convenient for families to be near each when some have a camper and others stay in the cabins. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at Blazing Star in 2005 and used to recommend it. But when we stayed there at the beginning of May of 2007, we found it looking shabby with uncut grass and weeds a foot high. Many areas that used to be grass are now dirt. And many of the concrete RV pads are dirty with no one making any effort to clean them. As other post said this place has it all. The only items missing was modem hookup (phone jack was broken). No fires on ground here. Staff was very helpful. Some sites in rear of park were way off level from side to side and front to rear. I would say 98% are very close to level. WiFi was very strong all over park. Some road noise from Hwy. 1604. This is a nice big park. Sites are very nice and amenities are clean and well kept. We didn't try the WiFi (it is for a fee and we have satellite internet), but reception at our site seemed good. They offer propane delivery twice a week (a big bonus in my book). The laundry facilities were huge, though they close them during the night and don't reopen until 8 a.m. (I'm an early riser and like doing laundry at the crack of dawn). With all the 9 and 10 ratings, we were a bit disappointed in Blazing Star. While some of the sites are quite nice, ours along the side, was paved, but not level, had trash behind the site, and did not have a picnic table. They charged $49 extra/week for the 2 kids and charged extra for WiFi. When a place claims to be "luxury" and they charge a lot, we expect allot. The common facilities (office, pool, laundry, bathhouses) were outstanding and immaculate. However, we did not like that the office closed at 6pm -- no access to the lounge or game room in the evenings. My kids only used the nice game room once because we were out most days, and home in the evenings. This is a nice resort, and has some great features, but definitely not a 10 in my book. This campground is one of those great ones. Their rules seem a bit steep, but that is what keeps the campground looking clean and neat. The price, with the Good Sam discount, is reasonable for a wide site with a concrete pad. The facilities are also stellar, i.e., workout room. My only complaint would be that there is a rather high curb to climb over to get the motor home into the site. Also, the turn into the site was tight as well as when exiting the site. We were fortunate enough to be able to pick a site without trees to that our DirecTV and Internet Satellite dish worked flawlessly. When checking in, it would be helpful if the campsite map was color-coded so that one could easily determine which were the "standard" sites versus the premium. We had driven the campground and picked out those sites that would work for our rig, but it was a time-consuming process trying to figure out if the sites we picked were at the lesser rate. We stayed at this park for the longest month of our camping lives. One of the office staff was very unfriendly because she was having problems at home and took them out on us. If you want to use the workout room you must sign in and out at the office and get someone to unlock the room. Don't ask for cue chalk or a cue stick for pool as this just upsets the help. Not to mention that it costs a dollar a game. If you don't bring your own boards to get over the pavement onto the site then plan on having your tires balanced once a month. If you pay for a premier site bring your own ant bait. If anyone wants to work around your rig then stay there as we ended up with a dent in our rig due to the help hitting it with a backhoe! The egress and ingress is very hilly and difficult as the highway is at the entrance and it is very busy. If you are not part of a clique then you will have to "enjoy" all your activities by yourself. Not a very warm or cozy atmosphere to say the least. I, of course, will not recommend this park to anyone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a great destination! The pool was clean and big enough to accommodate multiple families. The Clubhouse game room was awesome, as it included video games, pool tables, air hockey and skee ball. The playground had commercial grade playground equipment and was also very clean. The cabins would be great to invite friends for family that don't have an RV. The sites were all very nice and easy to pull in. They even included a cement patio area. We used the free Sea World shuttle, which was very accommodating and on time. We have nothing bad to say about this place. We will definitely be back next year! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice and clean space. The clubhouse is very well kept, and so are the grounds, pool, and hot tub. Great staff with plenty of information on local attractions (like Sea World and downtown San Antonio). They also have a massage room, and they coordinate appointments for local massage therapists. I had a massage and it a great luxury to walk a very short distance from my coach to the club house. The campground is a little bit of a drive from downtown San Antonio, but worth it. It's secluded, off of a local 2 lane road, and very quiet and safe. I've been 3 times and enjoyed myself every time. Highly recommended. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is by far our favorite park we've ever stayed at. We have visited many times each year and have enjoyed every single time we come. In fact, we compare all others to this one. It's very convenient to Seaworld - buy a season pass and enjoy the water park and amusement park for a few days. I'm sure the park is not perfect for everyone, but we think it's pretty darn close for us. The facilities are very clean and the park is well-maintained. The staff is nice and the trees throughout the park make it lovely - especially the far side of the park. There is plenty of breathing space on the premium sites as well. The only problem that we've had in the past is with the wi-fi service - last time we went it was spotty at best. Hopefully they've fixed that in the last few months. I chose this park because of it's rating. Boy was I disappointed. The signage getting into the park was minimal at best and you could easily drive past before the turn in. The turn around in the front was a terrible design as it was congested on this holiday weekend. Then we were only staying a day and they stick us way in the back where we had to walk 1/2 mile to the pool (there isn't any parking in the area for overflow parking) and hot tub. There certainly was quite a few sites open in the front. It would have been greatly appreciated to have some "adult" hours for the pool, as not all "campers" have children. The interior roads are very narrow and it takes some maneuvering to get large rigs in and the concrete pads are at least 2 to 4 inches above the road and it feels like you're jumping a curb. I'm just so greatly disappointed that this park was rated so high as were my expectations. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park, friendly staff. Loved the fact that they pick up your trash at your site every day. Interior roads are narrow, some turns tight, but doable. We got a premium site (30 ft. of "front yard" space between you and neighbor), but could have done with a lesser priced site. Got the large one, so we could tie the dog up outside when we were out there and he would have more running room, but there were too many burrs in the grass to do that. Wifi is $4 a day. Too many trees on our site to get a good signal on our satellite. They do have cable but very limited - maybe 15-20 channels. Would probably stay there again as we really didn't spend that much time in the RV anyway. Very nice pool area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our 2nd stay at Blazing Star over the girls spring break. We stayed for 6 days. I love this park. We prefer the premier sites in the 100 row, but only because they are the closest to the nice playground and pool. The pool was heated which was nice since San Antonio was going thru a cold spell. All sites are nicely paved and level, the streets are very easy and wide which allow easy travel thru the park to your site. The kids enjoyed the daily ice cream cones at the store, along with the movie rental selection at night. Blazing Star is a top notch RV park and a great place to stay if your visiting Sea World or the River Walk. We will continue to stay at Blazing Star when visiting San Antonio. The laundry facilities are very nice. A plus is they finally finished construction at the entrance of the park, however Loop 1604 is still under construction in this area. Not a problem though. A down side would be you can hear the trucks on Loop 1604 during this construction period if you are towards the front of the park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I feel like Simon on American Idol, facing down Randy and Paula after they have just given a contestant glowing praise. So many people find this park outstanding and I cannot understand why. Perhaps my standards are just too high. When you arrive, the office, store, and recreation area is, indeed, nice but, when you get to the campground itself, no way. The first thing you notice is the only place to unhook your toad is very unlevel and downhill--dangerous. Next, after you register at a ridiculously high price ($300 per week), you observe that they don't even have a brochure or map of the place--just a poorly xeroxed copy of an old park layout. They give you a Chamber of Commerce map but it doesn't even show the park. Next you observe that the streets are very, very narrow and difficult for a big rig. Then you find that it is rare indeed to find a truly level site and, when you do, you have to drive over a good sized curb to get on and off your site. Their premium sites are what I would consider a normal site anywhere else, and they charge you an arm and a leg for them. The wi-fi, which you have to pay extra for, does work well here, however. All in all, this may be the best RV park in San Antonio, but that ain't saying much, folks. Since they don't offer refunds under any circumstances, I suggest you reserve only one night, or check the place out in advance. Good luck! We camped here in a Motorhome.

I would have to say that this is the best park we have stayed in. However, there are a couple of things that I would change. The first site they assigned us was a little too tight to back into at night. The trees and other rigs prevented me from being able to get into the site. However, with a phone call to the office, they assigned me a pull-through. The Wi-Fi worked well, but is an add-on fee. I was never able to resolve an issue with the cable TV feed. There is a substantial curb (3" to 4") that you have to jump when pulling into the sites. However, all that being said, I would rate this as a first class facility. The hard-wood trees and manicured grass was very nice. The club-house, pool, workout facility are all first class. The management was very friendly. We will definitely make this a stop when in San Antonio. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A model park. Great campers, great staff, great service. Three small kids had a wonderful time on the playground. Very kid friendly and the staff was very helpful with local activities. Sparkling clean everything. Will be our only place to stay when visiting San Antonio again. The only minor complaint, if you want to call it that, was that as soon as quiet time was over at 7:30 am, the ground crews started cleaning up (running a gas blower). This is a very nice resort-type park that provides nearly anything most people would want as long as you're looking for a resort and not a campground. Staff are friendly and give you a very thorough hand-out packet containing all kinds of information about the resort, the city of San Antonio and the surrounding area including coupons for restaurants and attractions. There is a lovely clubhouse and the grounds are very well kept. Two things keep me from giving this resort a rating of 10. On the way in, there is a steep drive leading up to the entrance and clubhouse. At the top of that hill, there is a mound and a dip that you must cross to continue into the resort. We could not get our fifth wheel over that hump without touching the underside of the front of the RV until we backed up and re-approached from an angle. Even then, we barely made it in and I have a 6" clearance! Once inside, you'll notice that most of the sites, although concrete and quite level, have a 2"-3" curb that you must traverse in order to get on and off the site pad. Many of the guests had boards at the entrance &/or exit to their sites in order to lessen the impact on the tires. In addition, many of the sites drop off severely before re-entering the roads that run back and forth. We had to request a different site for fear that we may again run the risk of touching the underside of the RV to the rails of our truck. If you can manage to get from the road and into your site, you should be quite pleased. By the way, if you have a fifth wheel, you may have to be very careful going back over that hump in the driveway as you exit! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The first time we stayed at this lovely park we had a Premier site for a month. The second time we called to reserve a site we were told Premire sites where no longer available with a monthly rate, only daily or weekly. During this second stay we noticed that many of these sites remained empty. This was our first outing in our travel trailer and we were a little nervous however, we
couldn't have started out in a better place. The staff was FANTASTIC!!! There were many veteren RVers that helped answer all our questions and even came
over and helped us hook up for the first time, giving us info on little things we might need that we didn't know about. The park had a BBQ cookout one night and breakfast on Saturday morning. They even had a massage therapist on staff (best massage I've ever had!). The pool and playground were great for our daughter and the laundry facility was big, nice and clean. The only problem we have now is we are afraid the other parks might pale in comparison. We give it 2 thumbs up!!!!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great place to camp! Unfortunately the first impression we had was not that great. We had
reserved a site with a patio and picnic table, but the site they assigned us was too short. The site was 30 feet long, but there was a tree right at the end of the nice level concrete pad, which prevented us from "hanging over" to make room for parking our diesel van. They moved us to a pull-through without a patio or picnic table and RV fairly close on each side. They were very apologetic and refunded the difference ($28 per night vs $32) and even bought us a free breakfast (this was a full breakfast, omelet with bisquits and gravy). The staff bent over backward to help us our entire stay. They have free family movie nights, with popcorn also free. Dog walk with "doggie-bags." Nicely landscaped and very well maintained. I do wish the site were not so close together, but I understand they need to make money. Pluses: Lots of activities for kids (and adults), very well cared for park, small on-site store, and fantastic staff. Minus: lots close together. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here in June 2003. We loved everything about the place. The pool, playground, and clubhouse were wonderful. The staff was friendly for the most part. Laundry room attendant was rude when she came to lock laundry for night.
Laundry was almost done so no problem taking it but she wouldn't let my husband fold the clothes so they wouldn't wrinkle. Told him he had to leave NOW! We were suprised since everything else had been so wonderful. I figure she had had a bad day. Would definitely stay again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I agree with previous posts, but would add a word of advice to those making future reservations: if you want/need a patio/pad and picnic table, request them in advance. I requested (and paid for) a top dollar site, and was disappointed when I arrived and didn't have a patio/pad or picnic table while less expensive sites had them. I received permission to move a picnic table from an unoccupied site to mine, but setting up tables & chairs would have been better with a level pad. This park is spotless & the staff is friendly. Upon our arrival, we received the BEST and MOST THOROUGH info/welcome packet (diriving directions to and from all attractions, restaurants, conveniences, coupons, etc.). I would actually rate this park higher except they've raised their rates and decreased their services in 1 year!!! In March 2002 their weekly rate was $137 and they had a computer set-up in the office where you could use their computer to check e-mail etc. We came back the exact same week in March 2003 and the weekly rate for the identical site as last year is now $170 and they've removed the computer. I don't mind parks raising rates to cover costs and maintain their grounds but with this type of increase and less services in an economy that we all know is stagnant I find
unsatisfactory. We stop in San Antonio after wintering in Texas and will stay at another park next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park offers different size sites for different fees. We chose the largest "Premier" site which included a brick patio adjoining the camper pad and a second patio with park benches under trees. The park was very clean and manicured. The resort has a lagoon style pool, kiddie pool, several hot tubs, weight room, game room, playground, meeting facilities, laundry facilities, nicely stocked store with hand dipped ice cream, and a very friendly and helpful staff. The park is also very convenient to SeaWorld. We camped here in a camper.

During the summer, the park isn't very full, so even though the non-premium sites are close together, there isn't a great likelihood of having neighbors on both sides. We did have one neighbor while we were here, and the sites were so close that I had to stand on their patio in order to dump my holding tanks! Our living room slide was mere inches from the utility pole, too. There are dirt roads throughout the park which were being graded during our stay, and the whole park was dusty, dusty, dusty. Our truck and rig got so dirty that when we left we had to take advantage of the nearby truck wash. Even the inside of the rig got dusty! There aren't many shaded sites, and they seem to be taken by long-term residents. The park staff are very polite and helpful, the laundromat was air-conditioned and clean, the pool and hot tub are really nice and located on a deck that overlooks the little pond in the park. Public restrooms were clean, big and handicap accessible. My dogs really enjoyed the pet park. The Wi-Fi here was pretty slow, though. Lots of trashcans located throughout the park for dumping garbage, and they are emptied at least once a day. They serve meals Friday nights and weekend mornings, but we never took advantage of this. Park is located about twelve miles south of San Antonio, so expect to drive a bit to go in to see the sights. Price reflects CCUSA discount. The nice part is that the discount is unlimited, so stay as long as you want for half price! We camped here in a Motorhome.

I gave it a "7" due to the dust/roads being worked on and lack of trees. Nightly rate reflects PA discount, which is available with no restrictions. About 15 minutes south of the Riverwalk area in downtown. 30 minutes from Fiesta Texas. Very accommodating, nice folks run it. Grounds are kept up. Laundry, fishing pond (catch/release: no license required), ducks, lounge w/modem and computer. They are affiliated with Days Inn right next door and RVer's can use the pool at the motel. Free WiFi. $5 dinners on Friday nights; Saturday and Sunday all-you-can-eat breakfasts @ $4. Once they get all the roads paved and construction done this will be a bang-up place! We stayed in the premium area which is clean and well laid out. The pull-through premium sites are long enough for any size rig and have a concrete pad for the RV and another for the tow vehicle or toad. Even though the pads are concrete, the one we occupied required one tier of Lynx levelers. Lots of space with grass between sites. All are easy in and easy out. The bathrooms for the premium sites are clean, and there is one for women and one for men (each single room contains the toilet, shower, and lavatory, so one person at a time). We did not see the bathrooms for the standard sites. Cable TV has 15 channels, most of no interest to us. The free WI-FI signal is strong in the premium area. There are no trees in the premium area except for several that are newly planted. The staff is friendly and helpful. The park is in a mostly rural area outside of town. The 9 rating is based on the premium sites. We recommend this park and would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here in Nov. and Dec. '09 then again in April '10. In '09 we had a double back in site near the office. Lots of room. In April '10 we had a pull through site across the lake from the office. They are very large lots with a large patio and concrete pad to park the car. Water pressure is good and the Wi-Fi was just upgraded and it is very strong and fast. The roads have been repaired from last years pot holes. They have Friday night suppers and weekend breakfasts at a good price. The management is very nice and helpful. When the roads are busy it is only 15 minutes to the center of San Antonio. Good shopping is very close and it is just off the ring road so getting anywhere is quite easy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stopped for and paid for 2 nights and the sign stated no refunds. It is situated next to a cement plant with lost of dust. Lots of noise from the interstate. Roads are gravel and in poor shape. Sites are very narrow. The day we arrived, an outside contractor was grading them and spreading more gravel, causing more dust. They were scheduled to return the next day and we complained. The most recent reviewers must have stayed at a different Braunig Lake RV Resort. The one we stayed at had unresponsive employees. Three appeals over 3 days for help on cable TV reception issues went unanswered. The third time they checked and said the office was OK but did nothing to check our site. Mud and potholes galore, and a generally scruffy appearance. The combination restrooms/showers were clean but had seen lots of use. It's also quite close to I-37, so the highway noise is a factor at all hours of the day and night. Would definitely select a different "resort" next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is conveniently located to San Antonio, and may be one of the better choices in the area. It is very large, but the lake is actually about 3 miles away, although there is a small "pond" in the center of the RV park. Road noise from the freeway isn't bad, considering its proximity. We found it to be generally pretty quiet until the mobile car wash "set up shop" next to our spot for a couple of hours. This was rather annoying, since there was a line of at least a half dozen open spaces one "street" over that would have sufficed for the car wash operation. This park is acceptable only for an overnight, and is certainly not a "destination" at least in our humble opinion. The park roads are not paved, and some areas were in disrepair. The park roads were rather narrow, and it was necessary to unhitch before proceeding into the park itself. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is located in a semi-rural area with easy access to the freeway and San Antonio. We found the park workers friendly. Our site was a pull through with a concrete pad and full hookups. This is suppose to be a resort, but it is far from it. The wi-fi didn't work at all the campground areas. When management was notified by me and other customers they blamed it on the telephone company. When I asked why it worked in some of the park they shrugged their shoulders and said they didn't know what was wrong but it wasn't their fault. The spaces are narrow and just barley long enough for my 40 ft travel trailer and Excursion. The lake is just a big pond like stated before. The people in office are nice even if they don't know why the wi-fi doesn't work. I did not find the $3.50 breakfast. I sure wouldn't stay here again at these prices and no wi-fi. Con: We stayed here for a few months. It was VERY hot in the summer, with little shade, and the power failed on almost a daily basis. The driveways are getting quite rutted. There was a series of break-ins one night that resulted in the night watchman getting fired. The local police told me that there was often some healthy partying going on in the section next to the road; we were on the other side of the park and didn't get disturbed. There are few nice restaurants on that side of San Antonio and the park itself is somewhat isolated. Pro: By and large the people at the park were friendly, although there was a big turnover while we were there and the management at the nearby motel and storage area (owned by the same company as the park) really didn't give a damn. The lots in the rear are quite large and will hold a large camper, trailer, multiple extra vehicles, and so forth. We felt safe letting our cats out every so often, although I did hear that coyotes come into the nearby fields during the winter. While I give the park a mediocre rating, I'm not sure that there is much of an alternative for people with large rigs in the San Antonio area. It is right off the Interstate so it's a fine place to stop for the night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The name and description are deceiving, as this park is not on Braunig Lake. They have a 5 acre pond in the center of the park that they call a lake. The park itself is nice, and has a great pool, which was a requirement in the Texas heat. There is a hot tub, but the water was the same temperature as the pool. The folks who work at this place have to be the friendliest of any place we've stayed. And, the food they provide for minimal costs was outstanding. We had breakfast in their rally room both mornings we were there for less than we could have purchased the ingredients. The sites are a little close together, but we still had plenty of room to get the awning out. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We came to San Antonio and were going to stay two or three nights, but this park takes Camp Club USA for as long as you stay; so a week and half later we are finaly pulling out. We got a huge site, so big we had a parking spot for our car, golf cart, and a picnic table. Their WiFi is excellent, though they are having some issues with emails. The pool and hot tub were well kept. I did some fishing in the pond and caught some nice sized bass. The staff was excellent and the manager even printed up several maps for us of different attractions in and around San Antonio. Only complaint would be that the roads are not paved and people driving around on the gravel kick up a lot of dust. Also they have some problems with pot holes, but they are were filling them often. I highly recommend this park, and I will be coming back next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The daily rate reflects the Passport America discount which the park gave us for the entire stay. We camped here in a fifth wheel for 12 nights. The campground is very spread out. Our site was toward the back so away from the highway traffic noise. Although everyone was friendly, there were many residents staying for a long term as they were working in the area. There are not many trees but the sites are clean, level with concrete and a nice grassed area. The campground is only a 15 minute drive to downtown parking, as well as numerous malls. This park used to be a great place to visit. There is a coupon online for buy 1 night get 1 night free. The park staff used to be so friendly and would bend over backward to make your stay the best, but now the new staff is not very friendly. The sites are close together and they used to stagger them so your neighbors were not too close but the last few times we have been it seems as though they cram everyone together. The pool is closed if there is a wedding going on at the hall (even during the summer) so you have to used the pool at the hotel next door. This is an excellent choice to see San Antonio as the park is only 9 miles from downtown. We used Passport America mid week so this was the perfect place for us. This is a very nice park with friendly staff and clean facilities with easy access for big rigs - BUT watch out for one low branch at entrance! We opted to stay in the premium camping spots where our space was DOUBLED - you get two lots. Huge patio! I guess the people who complained about being too close to their neighbor were parked in the $18 a night PA sites. You get what you pay for. Has a few activities and arranged meals served by friendly staff which were pleasant. My wife and I found this park Thu Passport America and planned to stay one night. That is until we found out our 2008 PPA book was outdated and you can stay here for as long as you like at 50% off. The site are narrow, but they do their best to stagger campers on every other site. The Wi-Fi is excellent, they have 2 50+ foot towers with multiple antennas. The spa was closed due to mechanical failure, but they were working on it. Janette was a delight in the office, as was Pat. This park is a bit "country" but they seem to be making strides to be a great San Antonio destination. I highly recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is clean good Wifi and is fairly quiet. The downside is the spot we are in could be tight if another camper pulls in on my right. I would stay here again at this rate and enjoy it. This is a friendly park, way south of San Antonio, but with easy access to I-37, it takes only 20-30 minutes to get to the Alamo. They take Passport America without restrictions, so for us, camping for $18 so close to a major city was a great deal. If it had cost the full $36 I would have rated it a 7 at most. The campground is large, and it seemed mostly taken up with extended stay customers. The nicest and most expensive sites look out over a small lake. The only sites available when we checked in were pull-throughs near the front of the park. They staggered the rigs with empty sites, which was appreciated, since those sites are very close together. The park seemed safe, and was quiet except for some freeway noise from nearby I-37. They have activities on site for campers, and the friendly gent who escorted us to our site invited us to that evening’s cookout. We just stayed for two nights while touring the area, so we did not participate or use any campground facilities. The 50 amp full hookups worked fine, however the free wifi was so overloaded that I could only get it to work well after midnight. Our Dish satellite worked well with no obstructions. It’s not scenic at all (except for the on-site pond perhaps), but that has more to do with the region, which is fairly bleak. There is only a hamburger restaurant nearby, otherwise if you drive up to the Military Road exit and head west, you’ll find everything you could need. We would definitely return at the Passport America rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Braunig Lake RV Resort has the friendliest, most accommodating staff we ever had the pleasure of meeting during our RV travels, bar none. Besides their commitment to provide pleasurable holiday events for those of us without family, they made what could have been a lonely occasion the most fun, relaxing time we have ever had away from home. Kudos especially go to the camp hosts, two of the most delightful, helpful, and energetic persons we have met in the more than 20 RV parks we visited in 2008. Their attitudes encourage comradeship among fellow campers; therefore we befriended a number of special people during the holidays. The only negative scenarios during our 2-week visit were the few evenings when we endured cheek-by-jowl existence with our neighbors. There truly is not enough space between sites when park management is unable to allow an empty site between RV's. Pluses, however, include: town, shopping, and sightseeing are just a few minutes away; the freeways are fairly easy to access; and the park is large enough to accommodate those of us who enjoy lengthy walks. Further, the on-site pond is home to a variety of creatures with wings, gills, or shells, thus providing entertainment for all. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The rate quoted for 31 days or a monthly rate of $400. Nice resort and we would stay here again. The sites have concrete pads which are mostly level and they are attached to a small concrete patio. Unfortunately, this patio is very close to your neighbor's sewer hose. There are a few tables about but not enough for everyone to have one on their patio. The bathrooms and laundry are exceptionally clean and the trash is picked up daily. They have two WIFI towers and, when one is not working or weak, you can log onto the second. The washers and dryers are usually in good working order. When two washers were broken, they were fixed quickly. On the other hand one of the dryers has been broken for a while now. The staff is friendly and helpful and puts on Sun and Sat breakfasts, a very nice Christmas dinner at which the resort provided the ham and turkey while we all provided the buffet items and other entertainments. The roads are mainly asphalt but there are rock surfaces for each site to get onto the concrete pad. These rock surfaces do make for dust when it is windy. The drive into central San Antonio is about 12 miles and the nearest good shopping is about 6 miles away. However, I did not use this consideration when rating the resort since it is not within their control. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Passport America has unlimited use in this park. We stayed here twice on our recent trip to Florida. Nice people work here. They were very helpful with sightseeing and shopping tips and had a nice dinner available both Fridays we stayed there. The laundry room was immaculate and good sized. The wifi worked great. On our second stay we were put in a very narrow site; but since it was just for overnight; that wasn't a problem. We would (and did) stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Passport America (unlimited stay) park. Very clean park, friendly folks in the office. They originally had me in a pull-thru that would have been difficult to get into because of it's location and offered me a back in "double" spot with a "lake" (actually a big pond) view. I took it and like the fact that I could park my truck on the empty slab next to the trailer. Some of the pull thru's are kinda tight (basically your awning will come close to touching your neighbor) but they have recognized that in most of them and you get two spots for the same price as one. Good water pressure, excellent power... all in all a nice place to stay. We stayed for two weeks. Easy access off of I-37 and about 10 minutes from downtown. We will stay here again. It is a nice park with limited amenities and activities. The park office staff aren't very friendly. We camped in a premier site, and we were very glad we did. The regular sites are far too close together for most rv's. If you have slides they will almost touch the slides on the next camper. There is a 5 acre pond, but it is fenced in all but a couple of areas. Most of the pond edges are grown up in weeds, and you cannot get up to the water. They had 2 paddle boats, but they were broken. There are no rv lots on the pond, but most have a view of the pond. They have a beautiful pool area, but they have a rule that doesn't allow alcoholic beverages. They also don't allow alcoholic beverages in the Lodge and parking lots either. I wish all parks like this that ban alcoholic beverages would learn to state this policy on their website. I could then choose another park. There are a lot people at this park who work in the surrounding areas, and they aren't as friendly as fellow rvers. We stayed here for 2 weeks, but we won't stay here again. The Passport America rate is $20.50 a night. Too expensive for what you get. The park is located right off I-35 behind a truck stop, nothing nearby. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is very easy access from I-37, and a great stop on the way to the Rio Grande Valley. The office staff was very friendly and helpful when making our reservation, as well as when we arrived. We had a premium site,#L18, which was very level. We had a cement pad for our truck and another cement pad for our 5th wheel, with a picnic table in the middle. The park was very quiet and we had excellent wiFi at our site. Passport America rate with no restrictions. We spent 15 nights here, good location for accessing the downtown area, easy in and out off of I-37. Very nice people here, we had a back in site and the site on either side was empty for the entire 15 days. If staying here, take the extra time and get a back in. Everyone wants a pull through, these were filled almost to capacity every night. The regular sites here are tight. There are some big premium ones out back, but they are pretty much taken by reservations. Plus they are pricey. Overall a very good park for the money. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I would call this an RV park and not a resort. The roads are not paved and need some work. It was much quieter than I expected since it is near I-37. Premier sites are large and have concrete pads and patios. The regular rate for the premier sites is $41 which is high in my opinion. The pool and hot tub area was closed even though daily temperatures were in the 80's. The quantity of laundry/restroom/shower facilities was inadequate. Cats belonging to long term residents were allowed to roam freely and were frequently seen on our chairs and picnic table. This was a good location for visiting San Antonio. Based upon previous reviews for the park, we chose to spend our time in San Antonio here and we are happy that we did. Other campgrounds we saw as we toured were either right on the freeway or in an area becoming run down. Although located a short distance from the freeway, it was a pretty quiet park. The staff were friendly when checking in, if asking for information to stores/area, or when working in the park (RVs are also led to their site by a staff member). The showers and laundry were always clean. Lots of activities/park events were available during the New Years holiday. The wi-fi is now free with two large towers and service remained consistently high. The only three issues were the narrow pull-thru sites(for those using a discount such as CCUSA/PA ??) as we did or were here for just overnight. After parking our rig, a motorhome was parked right next to us and their sewer was right outside our door which was inconvenient. To be fair, the back-in sites are actually wider and frequently RVs were parked in every other site. There are also 'premium' sites in the back of the park around the lake which appear to be wider. A second issue was the sparse picnic tables; not every site had one. Finally, with the push to make a 'green' America, this park does not have recycling containers available which is surprising. We chose to save our cans/bottles to see if our next stop in Texas recycles. If not, it must be a state thing. At any rate, we will return to this park when in the San Antonio area. Very clean and well-kept campgrond. WI-FI was being upgraded but work had been going on for 6 weeks. We stayed 7 days and were able to get on to WI-FI last day at office but signal was weak. I suspect that service will be much improved after towers are put in service. Breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays for $3.00. Pancake, sausage, bacon, toast and coffee. Has a bingo night and game room. Staff is mostly workkampers but they were very friendly and helpful. Guided us to our site and made sure everthing worked. Cable is poor with very few channels. Electric power is excellent. Sites are very close together and staff tries to stagger campers in sites so that they are not close together. We camped there with friends, next to each other, and our awning was almost touching their bedroom slide. Eight miles from the Alamo and convenient to most of San Antonio. Honors Passport America and gave us a week of discounts for $17.00 a night . A real savings. Price witout dicount is a little high. Shower and laundy were immaculate. Has a pond with catch and release. Also has paddle boats. We will stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a really nice, quite park. Lots of activities: fishing, free paddle boats, outdoor shuffle board, spa & swimming pool, game room with pool table, pacman game & electronic dart board. The camp "lake" is just a fishing pond; Braunig Lake is a few miles down the road and they charge a fee. There is a flea market next door so plenty of weekend traffic. Staff person was unpleasantly bossy and despite rules we found numerous dog droppings at our site. Otherwise, grounds and buildings well maintained. We missed the ice cream social. Park is new and very clean. All sites have 20,30,50 amps, lot of room for rv unit, table, and tow on each site with cement pads for each. Cable TV did not work on our site. Small lake with ducks. Fire ants are a small problem. Road noise from I-37 is bad. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is normally $16/night, but stay a month and the rate decreases. Great location, near to downtown and medical faciities, and nice, large sites on cement. Grounds needed more work, grass allowed to grow entirely too long, asked office if we could take care of our site and were told we couldn't. This is a great campground to utilize if you are active or retired military. Reservations are accepted. Close to downtown San Antonio and all attractions. Sites are huge - nearest RV was approximately 50' away on each side. Roads, pads and patios are all paved and very level. Sites and common areas are well kept. Campground is on post, so you have access to all post facilities (pool, bowling alley, commissary, PX, etc.). Campers are from all over the US - very friendly and helpful. We stayed for two weeks and would have stayed longer if we hadn't had a previous commitment. We will return here if in the area! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

First, my nightly rate is based on a full month's stay. We paid $450.00 for the entire month of August, so the nightly rate is skewed. It is closer to $40/night for a short term stay. The park is the perfect place for a mid to long term stay. The staff is awesome! The sites are well maintained. There is ample shade, although there are a few sites that don't have a lot, most do. Most of the sites are pull-through, level and provide enough room to have all of your slide-outs extended without having to make sure you won't hit this pole, or that tree, or a water faucet. There are plenty of concrete sites and it seems that ALL of them have extra parking space for another vehicle besides your RV. There is a pool and it is very clean! The only thing negative about this park is the fact that there are A LOT of older mobile homes there... Most of those are in a "separate" area of the park, but they are there and as a result, there is quite a bit of vehicle traffic in and out at all hours. The park is also located right next to a train track and trains do run through twice per day. The location of the park is perfect... You can find anything in 10 minutes or less. Wal-Mart, H.E.B. (groceries), mall shopping, restaurants, movies, etc.! Overall, this park is great. Whatever shortcomings there are (mobile homes and train noise) are more than made up by the staff and overall appearance of the property. We love it here! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

If you decide to stay at Greentree Village, make sure that you have good directions and not simply follow your GPS! The address is on O'Connor Rd, but the road actually turns and is not straight at an intersection. We got fooled. The roadways in the campground are not the best in the world and in need of repairs. Particularly awful are the numerous speed bumps (mountains?) throughout -- frequent and tall. There is also a eight-inch sloping curb that you have to drive over in order to pull into your campsite. That can really bounce you around. We had a major incident occur while we were gone for the day in downtown San Antonio. Apparently the campground maintenance crew did some work in-and-around our sewer/water/electric hookup area. We weren't alerted to this beforehand. When we returned to the site at around 5:15 in the afternoon, there was a caution sign up around the hookup area with a huge 2' x 4' hole next to the sewer hookup. It hadn't been broken, but there was mud everywhere and a large pile of dirt just in back of our rig. There was also mud all over our lines/hoses and on the side of my RV. When I called the office to find out what was going on, the night clerk simply said that if we had our services (water, electric, sewer, cable) then we should have no complaint. Huh??? There was no note or phone call to us. The clerk gave us no satisfaction and would not let us relocate to another site. Truly bizarre and unacceptable. I'll be writing to the campground to fully inform them of this ridiculous set of circumstances and the lack of appropriate customer concern on the part of the evening clerk in the office. This park has great proximity to both San Antonio and New Braunfels, where we were visiting. However, we won't be staying here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This facility is in the city which means that there will be some noise (although not excessive) from the side road. The Greentree Village North information clearly states that there aren't trees on the short-term RV sites. The more permanent sites are well shaded, regardless if you are in an RV or mobile home. The park isn't allowing any more mobile homes into the park (the mobile homes that leave aren't being replaced with another mobile home) so if you intend to park for a while choose a shaded area. This park is great and the management is spectacular! So if you want to be close to the city and not far from the city attractions you would want to stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Like stated in some of the other posts, the beautiful shade trees and landscaped areas are where the residents live. I would have given them a higher rating.I was a little disappointed, it looks much nicer on the web site. They have planted trees in the short term area but they are not developed as of yet. The park was clean and pretty nice and the fenced dog run area was welcomed by our dogs. This is not a park to sit around and relax in as it is a large park and it is busy. It is not an out of the way camp ground. It is in a very developed area of SA. It is a big city and it is not going to be all quiet and tranquil. But, the noise was not an issue as far as we were concerned. It is a great location to stay when visiting the city. It is easy in and out, pretty close to major highway/express ways. We were in town to visit family and go shopping. If you are going to SA you are going to be out doing things (that is what makes SA great!) and this park is a fine place to come back to and sleep. If you want to sit around outside your RV and look at the scenery and listen to the birds, stay outside of the city in the hill country. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Don't be fooled by their web site. All the beautiful tree shaded and grassy sites you see on the web site are reserved for full time residents. Travelers like ourselves age relegated to the "back lot". The trees are young and immature and the view is of a construction material storage lot. High tension electrical wires run overhead. Train, heavy truck noise and overhead air traffic is constant. The clean site and after hours quiet rules are not enforced. They did have a fenced pet yard so your dog can exercise off leash, and the laundry facilities were good. All things considered we decided to leave a day early. Sorry, no refunds! We won't ever stay here again and recommend you look elsewhere. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Let's face it, for a city of its size, San Antonio has really lousy RV parks! And this is from someone who lived here (Universal City) for 28 years prior to a recent move to Florida. We come back a couple of times each year around the holiday time to visit children and grandchildren. The best thing this park has going for it is the location: good access to most anything you would want to do in San Antonio area. It seems that each visit the noise gets worse at this park! In addition to all the other things mentioned in other reviews, the park now has construction workers in the RV pull-through area with all their trucks and equipment. These folks crank up their big trucks around 5:30 AM, and take about 30 minutes or more getting all their materials and gear loaded before they pull out up the hill. Even with fans and sound machines working there's not much sleep going on after that part of the morning, which shows that the 7:30 AM "quiet time" is not enforced. Folks with dogs seem to be pretty caring with their pets, but the cat owners allow them to run loose day and night. Be careful opening your door or an unwanted visitor will dart in and may take a bit to get back out. This is not some stray left behind, they are tagged and have owners at the park. As with other parks, rates keep rising, and are now at $430 month (30amp) and $25 for the WiFi. But as I said at first, there is just not much to choose from in San Antonio. What a shame! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent a couple of months here in the winters off 2006/7 and 2007/8. The park is nice, the sites in the RV section area all pull-thru with plenty of space between sites and room for large rigs and two additional vehicles. Parking pads are not paved, but do have concrete patio with table. WiFi is available for about $25/month $15/week, but is very slow in the afternoon and evening when everyone is online. WiFi is accessible from just about every site. Pool is small and not heated. The RV park is convenient to most of San Antonio. There are loud train whistles at all times of day & night from a railroad/city street crossing about 1/4 mile away. The noise didn't bother us unless we had the window open at night. There are feral cats in the park which are fed by several of the long term RV'ers. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very noisy RV and mobile home park. There are many permanent residents who hold full-time jobs so the traffic is rather heavy and loud during the morning hours. There is a small pool near the office, located on the other side of the park. There is a club room with a nothing-to-brag-about exercise room. We stayed for a month and will not stay again for long term. Monthly rate was $325 which included cable TV hookup. WiFi was very slow and cost $25/month additional. The noise and dust from the Texas DOT yard right across the fence was too much for us. Most of the park is permanent or seasonable sites with the RV sites along the fence next to the DOT yard. The bathrooms and showers were VERY clean and the laundry was clean also. Cost was #1.25/load for both washers and dryers. Sites were average in size but no grass to speak of. In addition, the whole park is on hill so you had to walk or ride your bike either up or down hill all the time. This park is fine for an overnight or short term stay as it is close to San Antonio attractions. WallMart is about three miles away and Sam's Club about 1 mile. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice long gravel pull-through with good access to hook-ups; unfortunately sites are adjacent to landfill with significant truck noise during day. Long, long hike to restrooms/office from most sites, be prepared to use your on-board facilities. Most of the park is devoted to fixed RV sites. While there are shady sites with concrete pads they seemed to be for long termers. The short termers are directed to the rear unshaded, unpaved sites under some high voltage power lines. The upfront sites are worth the $27 per night but the rear sites are a real rip-off. Will not stay there again. We camped here in a camper.

We were allowed in this park via a base pass to attend basic training graduation for a relative. It made it convenient to spend base pass time with our airman. This is a RV park located on a military base. Access is limited to Military personnel / DOD civilians. The RV portion was located on the back corner of the base and was quite. Had plenty of shade, free washers and dryers, and access to all military facilities. Also located next to US90 which provided quick access to San Antonio. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an older park that has not seen many upgrades in recent years. Most of the water hookups are on the wrong side of the sites. Old asphalt sites with a small concrete patio. Laundry available with reasonable prices. Management is friendly and helpful as they are RV'ers themselves. If you are looking for a resort park this is not it! This is a basic older park with no frills. It is relatively clean but the grass has overgrown many of the sites. It is gated at night and on weekends. Park is good for overnight or for touring San Antonio. Easy access to Hwy. 90 and loop 410. Convenient to Lackland AFB and the usual shopping stores. We would stay here again. What a dump this place is. Very RUN DOWN, Dogs on the loose everywhere and If I stepped in one pile I stepped in 20. Services on the wrong side, cars on site being used as storage units for the long term people, junk piled up everywhere, no rules here at all. Do yourself a favor and drive right on by this one.. The name of this location is very deceiving, it is far from a resort. It is mostly long term tenants. The sites are semi-level and gravel. The trees have not been maintained which makes it difficult to maneuver large rigs. The resident next to us had a large dog that almost bite me. We had reservations, but when we arrived we were offered one of two "new" sites (translation: they had put in a utility pole, but no driveway, table, etc.). Run-down looking. This is our first stay at a KOA; we have heard such horror stories about KOA and we have always stayed away. This park was not so bad. The staff was nice. The Wi-Fi was down, but the staff was very sorry and they did everything they could to make us happy. The area was nice, a little noise from the road but all in all it was a very nice place for a short stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I spent one night. The park was lovely with the Salado Creek running by our site. We asked for a site with trees and were given one. The pool has areas at both ends for small children with plenty of room for adults to swim. There is even an 'adult only' hot tub although some teens did use it. The KOA store was well stocked. It appeared there were things for all ages within the park. It was close to I-I0 so I didn't have to go through a lot of traffic. There is a bus stop right outside the park that takes you to downtown San Antonio. Very nice park and friendly managers. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Above average KOA, a few miles away from the highway and is good for visiting San Antonio. There is no highway noise, the interior roads are paved with concrete pads. There are lots of grass, trees and space. Very friendly and helpful office staff. The toilets and showers are clean. The local bus stops just outside the park and takes about 15 minutes to get into the Riverwalk/Alamo area. The cost is $1.10. The pool is a decent size and was very refreshing after a day in San Antonio. The gate closes at 8pm so the park is very secure. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed a week at this campground. Initially we were not so sure as when we pulled up it seemed to be in an industrial area. However it turned out to be a really nice campground, quiet and secure with big sites and easy access to major freeways. The staff was not overly friendly, but we were not in the office very often. One of the workers stopped and chatted with us which is always nice. It was close enough to downtown, and they give directions at check in to the local grocery store and WalMart. Overall was a nice experience and we would stay there again if ever in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Above average for a KOA. Easy in and out from the Interstate. Staff are friendly and helpful. Store and laundry excellent, although can't say the same for the showers, which are totally inadequate for adults. No hooks for your 'stuff', no room to move around while showering, and if you are more than 5' tall you will need to bend way over to wash your hair. There is a new washroom facility being readied which hopefully means they will re-do the old one. We stayed here for three days while doing the tourist thing in San Antonio, which is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. The city should be proud of their bus service which I must say is one of the best we have ever used. There is a stop right outside the park gate which takes you right into the city with stops at all the major attractions. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We would rate the facility as better than average for KOA. Close packed sites, as expected for a suburban park, but well maintained and pretty. Good gate security. (Which I presume means it is needed.) While the grounds staff we met were friendly and helpful, the front desk staff made it clear they were there under duress. And God forbid you should come in to ask where to find a Wal-Mart or a hardware store, as obviously you haven't done your greeting package homework. Maybe the grounds and desk staff should switch jobs. Handy to downtown by bus or not, next time we stop elsewhere and drive ourselves. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Staff very professional not rude not friendly just professional. Sites are gravel with bumpy roads that are being patched over and over, lots of ground cover but no grass. Laundry and game room are nice and a new bathhouse is being built. The old bath houses are very dated. There appears to be 2 sections of the park one for the perms and one for the travelers. I would call this park above average for a KOA. We stayed here for two nights while visiting sites in San Antonio. The second night was free via a web site promotion. It is very convenient to use the public bus service that stops right in front of the RV park and takes you right into downtown near the river walk and two blocks from the Alamo. Wi-Fi and cable TV are very good. Restroom/showers were clean. There is quite a bit of sewer line construction going on in the front part of the park that is creating some dirt and noise. There's plenty of areas to walk pets and a well stocked store. Interior roads are a little rough and the sites could use a little more gravel. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here three nights and remember it being a lot better last year. The creek flooded its banks and made the pet walk area very muddy but did not effect our camp site. There was loud music Saturday night in our area until at least 11pm, which helped cover up the trains blowing their horns. I have to agree with other posts about the staff not being helpful/friendly. We had to ask where our camp site was and how to get to it. It appeared that the lonely male staff member checking in campers really didn't want to be there working. We will probably look for another campground next time we are in San Antonio. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice, comfortable shady campground. Park was very clean, nice gift shop and people always on hand to help. The city is putting in a new sewer line in the area and the front of the park is pretty torn up with some odor. The project is nearly done and did not cause any problem for us. A typical KOA (I am so tired of saying that), we stayed here because of location to the San Antonio river walk. The staff was OK, not interested in us but not rude. Our site did not have electric, they called a maintenance person over only to see him get SHOCKED! He stated that he told the office staff not to put anyone in this site until the electrician could make the repairs. We had been running our generator to keep our puppies cool, a staff member asked us to please turn off the generator, I asked can I get a site with electric? She said there was only a 30 amp available, we should have had reservations. When I told her we had reserved a site 15 days prior to arrival she stated "IT IS WHAT IT IS"! The electrician showed up four hours later only to find they had a wire in the wrong terminal. THAT IS IT? We were scheculed to stay three days but decided to leave the next day. It was very difficult to get our money back for the remaining days but the Manager was nice, understood and refunded our money. San Antonio in a nice city with a lot to offer. I have read the other reviews and I guess they had better luck than us. Once again, Typical KOA, over priced with little customer service! Maybe KOA Will get he message someday. We will not be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I stay at a lot of KOAs. It's a double-edged sword, as you know what you are getting because it is a KOA park, but you also know what you are getting because it is a KOA park. The park itself was quite nice -- large and nice setting. But bathrooms were a bit worn and dirty, cable tv had reception problems, and we went without power for almost an entire day (while they attended to an electrical emergency. The power issue was most frustrating because they could have informed us or moved us to a spot that still had power. The problem is that KOAs, for the most part, do NOT understand customer service -- and this park certainly does not. Stay for the convenient location to town and pretty setting, but don't expect a lot in terms of service or nice bathrooms. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. While here the staff was trimming trees with a Hi-reach man lift, keeping the limbs trimmed high enough for bigger rigs. This is something I wish all campground owners would do. The pool was clean and heated a plus with night time temps on the cool side. The wifi worked well with no problems. On Friday and Saturday they have a breakfast and dinner on site at a chuck wagon. The sites are crushed stone, roads are paved. As was stated before, I would not call it a resort, but it was a nice place to stay while visiting San Antonio. Some of the sites were kind of narrow but not bad. The showers and toilet stalls in our shower house were a different story. They were clean but very small. Do not drop you soap cause there was no room to bend over. I don't know if the other ones were the same. The hired help were all very nice and helpful from the desk to security guard. The bus stops out front and runs regularly downtown for a $1. The park is huge and provides all types of sites plus cabins. The place could use some much needed maintenance to interior roads, grassy areas, etc. Having said that, it does appear that they are trying to keep up with things. We usually take KOA when traveling in areas we do not know. This park was recommended to us. We found the sites very narrow. Washrooms were the worst we have ever encountered in a KOA. They were old and in need of repairs. KOA camps usually have great washroom and showers. That is always a selling point to us for parks. KOA staffs are also usually the most helpful and accommodating. Here they seem to want to slough off the work. I think that the attitude really shows what is wrong with this park. There is no worker pride, and they let things slide, and it shows. Wake up management. Hire good maintenance workers who do some preventive maintenance. If I come back to San Antonio I will probably try another RV Park We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A nice place to stay while visiting San Antonio. Nothing fancy, but convenient to Riverwalk & The Alamo. We stayed in the area with shade trees which made the sites somewhat narrow but they were plenty long enough for a 40' motorhome & towed car. I agree with most of the other reviews. The pool was nice and clean. I hated the washer and dryers being outside. Most of all we hated the Fire Ants! The Fire Ants were everywhere and several people, including me and our dog, got them all over our feet. We got a very narrow lot, and had a hard time getting our slideouts clear. We like the parks' rustic appeal. Was told on the phone if we wanted to know our lot number in advance we had to pay an extra 12 dollars. They had tons of nice easy to pull through for big rigs, but stuck us in a narrow tight lot. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here on numerous occasions without a problem. I usually reserve online. KOA has an easy to use website for information and reservations. You pick your KOA, a list of sites within the park comes up for you to reserve at that specific park. Notice some do have lower prices. I usually go for the most comfort, large sites, cable, Wi-Fi etc. So I do my thing, reserve my site pull through site a month in advance and get there. This site per the reservation has cable, and accessible to Wi-Fi. The Month goes by and we arrived, "Sorry no pull throughs available". They said they only had back in sites without cable and no Wi-Fi. I complained about the price difference I paid for when reserving. Words from their mouth, "there is no difference in price anywhere in the park". I was kind of taken back by the poor attitude of the clerk, maybe he wasn't supposed to be their that day? Anyways, I keep my cool, explained the situation, showed them the printout from the KOA website, he was also staring at it on his computer screen. We had to stay, we were in San Antonio for a concert, we didn't have time to find a new place, etc. We got the crummiest site I've reviewed. Low hanging branches, un-mowed, very narrow, no cable, no Wi-Fi acceptability's. I complained to KOA online and they sent me a letter to file a formal complaint, whatever that means. I realize San Antonio is a good sized city, things can happened, human error is part of life, but come on KOA a little respect would be nice. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a secured (iron fence) campground. The neighborhood is very run down. You will need the security gate code to enter after 8PM as there is no other way to get in then. The other campgrounds nearby are very seedy looking without any security. We stayed 2 nights. Drive thru sites were large and wooded. Lots of water pressure. Bus service to downtown is right at the front gate ($1 each way). Don't drive downtown unless you like lots of traffic. Take the Mission Tour. Had dinner at the River Walk and so many choices. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is a standard KOA, sites are close together, but everything was clean. We took the bus to San Antonio that was right out front of the park. The Riverwalk is a must do when visiting. This park is also very close to the AT&T center. (Spurs/Rodeo) We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here several times. Nice staff and clean facilities. During our summer 07 stay they even had someone watching the pool in case of storms. He wasn't a lifeguard but at the hint of bad weather, he evacuated the pool (you know kids.....they would have stayed in the pool regardless). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is based on a monthly rate. Fire ants are everywhere. We were placed in a part that did not have cable TV available. Also, the free WI-FI was pretty much non existent. The trees dripped all over our rig. Leaves were everywhere. It did not seem like it was being maintained at all. The laundry rooms are outdoors and my wife refused to use it. The roads are very tight. I'm glad I disconnected our tow vehicle because I could not make some corners. I would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Upon entering, this place looks very nice. Once inside the campground it is old and in need of upkeep. The sites are very close, maneuvering into one is a challenge. I needed to do laundry but after looking at what they called a laundry room decided against it. The washers and dryers were located behind the restrooms and were actually outdoors in what I can only describe as an after thought. There were three walls and the remainder exposed to the elements. The washers and dryers were very old and beat up looking. We were supposed to stay here 2 days but left after an overnight stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here because they were running a "2 nights for the price of 1" special. It was well worth every penny. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The laundry facilities were well-lit and relatively inexpensive. The swimming pool and hot tub were very clean. We really enjoyed our stay here and would do so again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the better K.O.A.'s I have stayed in. There were plenty of trees. Some sites are close together and as the gentleman who escorted us to our site explained, the park is over 40 years old. Back then they didn't have R.V.'s this size. But it was a nice park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A very pleasant place to stay with nice facilities. Our site was spacious and level. One of the best features of this park is the city bus stop right out front which takes you into beautiful San Antonio. That saves a lot of hassle parking your car in town. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a great park! We stayed here primarily because of the easy access to I-10. I never dreamed it would be so shady and pleasant. The park is clean as a whistle and the staff is extremely helpful. We were able to take the bus downtown to see the Alamo and Riverwalk--easy place. The park is about 30 minutes from Six Flags Fiesta Texas. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed at this campground many, many times. We always enjoy going to San Antonio. The staff is friendly and willing to give directions. What is cool is that the bus picks us up in front of the park and can take us anywhere. The bathrooms are sometimes dirty especially during holidays when there are a lot of occupants at the park. We alway enjoy staying there and will continue to do so in the future. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We stayed for 4 nights and toured SA during our time here. Amazingly quiet except for rude neighbors who stayed up talking until 2:00 a.m.; but they left after only 2 nights. Sites are close, but accommodating. Excellent access to all hookups except cable; but cable is available. Excellent public bus access to River Walk (downtown SA) as well as driving to same. Parking downtown is scarce, but we found it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The excessively expensive rate shown is for a full hookup pull thru gravel site, with the 15 percent gold card discount and tax included. Cable TV is available only if you pay for a full hookup site: I recommend you don’t do it if you don’t need a sewer, as the cable didn’t work for us (judging by the forest of antennae deployed by others, it didn’t work for them, either; never mind, lots of stations are available on the amplified antenna.) The sewer connection was too small for my standard-sized donut but worked fine if treated like a dump station. A well-kept KOA with very narrow sites (mine was off-level, passenger side low, too narrow to use the awning.) The WIFI was a real pain, as slow as dial-up with low signal strength, and the requirement to log on with your site number and a password every time you connect to it, including the times it drops out. The Ethernet (wired) connection in the games room worked fine when the WIFI didn’t work at all. Bathhouses usually are clean and generally the park looks pretty. Swimming pool is one of the few truly heated pools we’ve encountered, open year-round, sparkling clear water and a real treat in March. A big draw is the bus stop right outside the gate for those who want to go into one of the most fun towns in America. New Braunfels / Greune, little German towns 35 miles NE on I-35 were, quite frankly, under-whelming (believe me, if my wife can’t shop, it ain’t worth the stop.) The camp store is very complete and staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, with bus schedules and lots of local info. Overall an average KOA in an above average location, a park which would easily rate a 9 if they would fix the cable and WIFI and charge about a third less. Do consider Dixie, a park just east, with equivalent bus service, and according to a couple we met, about a hundred dollars a week less, although a lot less pretty and less well-maintained. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Poor: was assigned a short, narrow site on a narrow road... had to dodge trees to setup & leave. Management doesn't monitor trashy sites & noisy dogs. Washrooms need a makeover. Typical KOA. Very nice staff, lots of kid stuff to use or rent, facilities neat but in need of real cleaning rather than quick swipe cleaning. Our row of sites (A) had good space between sites. Brick patios unlevel and landscaping typical of the "more or less" style of KOA upkeep. Convenient to everything with good bus service to downtown. Picnic tables and BBQ's at site. Nice shade trees. We've been to a few KOAs in central Texas and out of Texas. Very friendly staff, typical KOA store. No problems navigating around the park. We spent most of our time in the city and mostly spent nights in the RV. Showers clean as were restrooms. This is very close to the AT&T Center where the Spurs play and where the Rodeos are held. We stayed here last year and returned again because of its close proximity to the city and bus service across the street. This is one of the nicest KOA's we've stayed at. Last year we were not thrilled with our spot because the sites seemed too close together. This year we had a larger site and we were much happier.The staff was efficient and very friendly. We,ve been here 2 weeks now and my only complaint is the WIFI. It will cut out unexpectedly. The KOA staff put on a Thanksgiving feed, Ice cream socials and pancake breakfasts. Some sites are a bit small but ours, E4, is fine. Cable is not in all areas and the trees may block satellite signals in some sites. The pool and hot tub are clean. The staff (work campers) have all been great. The bus system works well. The park is in an industrial area mostly consisting of truck terminals but still very quiet. I will return next year. This a very large, clean park located conveniently to the interstates. There is a bus stop right across the street to take you to the downtown area. Our site had cable TV, but I heard others say that the cable sites are few and far between. There is wi-fi available at the sites, but it was very flaky, cutting out every so often. Also, it appears that they block AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) and some other sites. We were in a pull through site, but it faced the opposite direction from the adjacent site, so our motorhomes were facing each other. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a nice campground with great access to the Alamo, Mercado, etc. via city bus service right at the entrance. Campground gave us information sheets on which line to ride, how to transfer, and times of departure from both the campground and downtown. San Antonio bus service was excellent and times were correct. Staff was helpful and friendly. Did not use facilities as the weather was a bit cold. Would definitely stay there again. We were here during the Stockshow and Rodeo. They reserved a spot - could not reserve for 50 or 30, sewer or cable TV. Internet is very poor except in the rec room. Laundry is on a porch (it was 30 degrees last week!) One day in office did hear staff comment they had overbooked for that day by 40 sites. Sites close together. One office clerk's attitude overrides the friendliness of the remainder. While in San Antonio, we checked out parks in the northern part of the city. Resorts for same price. Stayed here for a week in Dec 2005. Easy to get to. Clean/quiet park. Most sites are too close to the next. On our first 3 nights we were the only ones in section H. On night 4 they checked someone new in and placed them in the site next to ours even though all other sites in our section were available. The sites were so close that the van next door was literally 3 ft from the end of our canopy. Also, our site that had no sewer, was the same price as larger trailers and motor home sites that had sewer access. Lesser services should be lesser price. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Is located in a flood plain. Our site was W-67. We stayed a week. Had nice shade. Has "free" Wi-Fi. Sometime could get it at our trailer, other times had to go outside to our picnic table or to a shelter near the office. Some sites have Cable TV but we didn't. Has Big Rig sites 85 feet long, but sites are a little close together. Here you can wash your RV and other vehicles. We slept every night with the windows open. Pretty quiet until around 7 AM then can hear the interstate traffic and train horns. They have fire rings. Cough, cough. All we need is more air pollution. Did like the Metro Bus stop right out front to go into town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean, nicely maintained park. Bathrooms clean, pool was clean although cold. Restrooms were clean as were showers. Patio at site was very nice, although weeds were a little high around the bbq. Playground was large and my 12 and 7 year old had fun playing there. The whole place felt safe. It was easy to get to I10 and 35 from the park. In my opinion it was a little expensive since there was no cable available at our site. Not sure if all sites have no cable, but it wasn't available at ours. That's what made me rate park an 8. Overall, a good choice for a base camp. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We've base camped here twice while seeing the sites in San Antonio. The first time was right after the cg flooded in August 2002. The staff then was VERY friendly and helpful. In 2005 when we stayed the staff wasn't unfriendly but not as friendly as the previous stay. The only cable provided is in the area where most of the permenant residents stay and this area is located at the front of the cg where you have all the coming and going noise and some highway noise. But if your inside watching cable, its not a problem. We'd stay here again because the location is convinent and the cg is good enough for base camping. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We been coming here for years. The staff are great. This trip I had trouble with my slide out. I went to the office for help & they directed me to a repair shop down the street. To make a long story short I got fixed up & continued on with our vacation thanks to the staff at the desk & the repairman. The bus ride to down town is well worth it. This campground was nice, a little hard to get to. It’s next to a stream and is surrounded by trees. It seems to be in an industrial area but you would never know it once in the park. We spent a month here and although it wasn't the best park we've stayed at it wasn't too bad either. The majority of the sites are gravel & grass and a good portion of them are occupied by permanent tenants. There is a Mexican cafe, clubhouse and pool in the park none of which we used. The bathrooms were OK. Mostly clean and fairly spacious. Laundry room had 4 washers and 4 driers reasonably priced and available. There is a nice park area to walk the dogs. The park is very quiet and we didn't experience any disruptive guests. The management were OK with us but we didn't really have much interaction with them. The site had 30 amp electric, water and sewer all in good condition and working as needed. The only complaints I have are in regard to the TV and Wifi. The Wifi is through Tengo and is kind of expensive ($30 month) for very slow service and the free cable service has 7 channels. I didn't even know cable companies had a plan with as little as 7 channels. Even bottom tier basic cable has about 50 channels. The park is located outside the city and is a good 20 minute drive to the city center. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Gravel sites are fine and reasonably spacious. All hookups work well. Cable TV is <10 channels. Wifi works fine for first 50% of park(and is not included in monthly rate). Shade is nice in this hot Texas sun (84 degrees today in February!), There are no organized activities; the pool is closed most of the time and the clubhouse has not been open since we have been here (3 weeks). We rented the site for a month and will move on next week. Bathrooms and laundry are small but clean and functionable. Minimal offerings in both. The biggest reason for our low rating is the total unfriendliness of the staff. The only time you hear fromm them or see them is if they have something to complain about or a rule to remind of you of. They are distant and not customer friendly at all. We will not stay at this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our weekend experience was awful due to the extremely talkative and drunk park host. She even had the audacity to ask us if we had any beer! The owners seemed nice, but after they left for the weekend the park host became excessively intoxicated. Her intoxication included belligerent words to campers regarding parking rules. We have decided never to go back there again. Also, we paid for an Internet service that we never got and were not able to receive a refund for. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is an older park that is family owned and operated. Our rate was for five nights and included a Good Sam discount of 10 per cent. The majority of those staying at the park are 'residents', which is just fine. There were many, many empty sites during our stay, though. The office was hardly ever open, which we found a little strange (perhaps this was the reason that very few sites were filled). There's a restaurant on site that's open seven days/nights a week. San Antonio's a wonderful city to visit - the River Walk is fascinating. There is lots of history in and around San Antonio, (The Alamo, of course, and several missions that were built in the 1700s) . The Tejas Valley RV Park and Campground is a good choice if you're planning on visiting this area for a few days. It's about a 20-minute drive to downtown from the Park. Easy in, easy out pull through sites. We were disappointed that there was no cable television at this park The WiFi was intermitent, and not free. All in all, though, we'd probably stay here again if we were back in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an old quiet, park with trees. There are Mountain Laurels, whose seeds look like a dog left you a present. When it rains in Texas, the fire ants show up. The Wi-Fi was excellent and for cell phone reception, it depended on your provider. I am a senior citizen, with my dog and feel safe here. Think I will stay awhile. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Dennis & I really enjoyed our stay. The people in the office & are very friendly & quick to respond. There's groceries & such in the office shop & also a really good pizza cafe on the premises. Various cafes & restaurants, big HEB grocery stores & shopping centers are not far. Audie Murphy VA Hospital/Clinics are a pleasant 15-20 minutes away. Sea World is practically right around the corner. The on-site wisteria is very moderately priced & the machines are in good shape. Air-conditioned cabins available; car rental too. We researched the park and called ahead to verify the amenities before arriving. We were given a wonderful review by the desk staff. We paid for a month in advance, but upon arriving found that the park WAS NOT AS DESCRIBED. We found that the sites were infested with fire-ants; animal droppings were everywhere. The restrooms were run-down, dirty, and the toilets were often flooded. The WI-FI was intermittent and cell-phone service was non-existent. We attempted to get a refund but it was denied based on the "No Refund" policy. The grounds-keeper began harassing me and ultimately threatened to assault me because I refused to allow him to wash our R.V. at a cost of $80! I called the police dept and filed a report and we left the next day! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD WE STAY THERE AGAIN! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

WARNING: Although this is a nice park we had an issue with the 30AMP electrical plug at our assigned campsite. Our SurgeGuard alerted us to the problem. When I notified the manager he said it was our SurgeGuard that was faulty. He moved us to another site and again we detected a “reverse politarity†issue with the 30AMP plug. The second site had a 50AMP plug and the SurgeGuard did not detect a problem with it. (The SurgeGuard worked fine on 30AMP at the next two campgrounds we visited) No one seemed concerned with the problem with the 30AMP. Other than the power problem the campground is clean, well maintained, plenty of room between the level sites, has paved roads and a lot of shade trees. . Very easy access to downtown since you can catch a city bus directly across the street from the campground at $1.10 per person. It’s cheaper than the $5.00 fee if you park downtown. There is a Wal-Mart and HEB about a mile away. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was a pleasant surprise. Even though it's close to downtown and surrounded by a somewhat seedy neighborhood, the park facilities and staff were top notch. The pull-through sites are long and easy to maneuver. Wi-Fi codes were free, which was good since trees block satellite reception from many of the sites. Interior paved roads were in good shape with room to make corners for large rigs, although tree limbs may need trimming at the far end of the park's loop. Make sure you follow the park's directions and avoid access via Southcross Blvd unless you have a small travel trailer, as the railroad tracks have a severe grade. Access to the local bus line is a great deal for getting to Riverwalk, and getting to the freeways for Sea World and other locations is close. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful park. I know it is in edgy part of town, but not once was I concerned. I walked across the street several nights to the great Mexican food restaurant. I felt perfectly safe when I took my dogs out, usually after 10:00 p.m., for the last walk of the evening. We had a large, pull through site with plenty of room. I spent time at the nice clean pool and work-out facility. We rode the bus to the River Walk 3 times and it was very easy with no transfers. Wal-Mart and HEB were close and we found the best ER vet office at Crossroads and 410. There is an 8-mile bike path behind the park which runs along the San Antonio river and through a city park, which was great for bike riding or walking the dogs. We had a very positive experience and will come back in the winter month to spent several weeks. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park. It’s clean, well maintained, plenty of room between the level sites, has paved roads and a lot of shade trees. Pull throughs are long, level and away from the main road so noise is not an issue. Very easy access to downtown since you can catch a city bus directly across the street from the campground at $1.10 per person. It’s cheaper than the $5.00 fee if you park downtown. There is a Wal-Mart and HEB close by. Pool, hot tub, and laundry room are in great shape. Don’t let your GPS take you on a short-cut to the park since you don’t want to take Southcross because your trailer will bottom out at the Railroad crossing. If coming from the North, take Route 90/I10 West to Roosevelt Ave. We stayed here for 9 days and definitely recommend this park. We would definitely come back here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground is clean. Spaces are adequately maintained and wide enough for 3 slides. Laundry facility was clean.Didn't use the pool. The only negative is the part of town where it is located. The surrounding area is noisy, and it is in an unsavory part of town. Handy that a city bus system is in front of the park to take you to River Walk area which is approximately a 10 min. bus ride. Cheaper than parking all day which is approximately $18. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed for one week so nightly rate reflects weekly rate. VIA bus into San Antonio is $1.10 with pickup directly across the street from campground. Found the bus to be safe and convenient to all the sights of San Antonio. The drivers and the passengers are most helpful to get you where you want to go. Had a back-in sight on the road side and did not find road noise to be an issue. Of course, we had our a/c on so that might affect whether we heard it or not. Didn't have any trouble hearing all the barking dogs, though. Plenty of space between sites and nice landscaping, too. Found pool, laundry, baths, office to be spotlessly clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Lovely park, would choose this park for any future visits to San Antonio. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects 1/2 off for military veterans. You must show proof of your military service to obtain the discounted rate. A great campground with easy bus access to San Antonio. We spent 3 nights here while we toured San Antonio. The campground offers city tour pick-up from the campground office. Has clean showers and restrooms. Has very level sites, many pull-throughs, mostly in semi-shade. Great Wi-Fi and cable TV. Very helpful and pleasant staff at this campground. There is a Wal-Mart very close by. This is a nice park. Roads in park are asphalt and in good shape. Our site was a long pull-thru, wide, level, small gravel pad, had a table, cement pad for table to set on, 50 amps, sewer, cable TV with lots of channels and water. If it rains the roads and sites will have lots of water standing due to flat land here. Nice pool and playground equipment for kids. You have a number of nice trees for shade.The Wi-Fi is free for one week and then you pay. I also noted the speed is very slow and may be short of bandwidth. We went to look at the RxR track on Southcross. One side is OK but the other side will get you. Do not use this road to travel to the park or you may have damage based on the large number of marks on road we found. Use information in Good Sam book to travel here. Water pressure was 160 lbs per paper work from office, my test showed 100 psi. Staff was very nice at check in. H.E.B. and Super Wal-Mart are close by for anything you may need. Bus will take you downtown and pickup point is across the street. San Antonio is a fun place to visit and tour. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Traffic noise is the only downside to this park. It has roomy sites with lawn and trees, spotless restrooms and showers, and a bus stop to downtown conveniently located across the street. Staff was friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park, close to downtown San Antonio, with bus pick up across the street. Front desk people were cordial and if you asked a direct question, they could give an answer, but were not as friendly as at some camp grounds. We stayed up front and had highway noise, not bad but it was always there. We stayed here for 5 days. Would I stay here again: yes because of it's location. Did not see a lot of activity in the park by campers. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you want to be in town and close to the attractions stay at this park. Right outside the park is the bus stop to take you to downtown (a 15-20 minute ride.) While not in the best part of town, we felt safe in the park. Has shade trees, was nicely kept up, and the staff was friendly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice RV park. Has clean, well kept grounds. Paved roads throughout. Sites are very roomy, especially the pull throughs. Very easy access to downtown as the street in front runs straight to downtown area and convenient parking, about 3 miles. Bus stop is directly in front of park if you choose to ride the bus. Office provides bus information. High water pressure at 140 psi, but office warned of the fact and had regulators for purchase if you do not have your own. No firepits. No problem for us, but may be for some. Cable TV great, WiFi had a good signal but a little slow. Not a great area of town, but never felt there was any reason to be concerned in the RV park, or going to/from it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a great treat, so much so that we stayed an extra night! The sites are level and well treed. The pool and hot tub area was clean and well maintained. The last night we were here, they had a social at the rec center to thank all the Winter Texans. There was music, dancing, prizes, refreshments, all in all a great evening. The location is perfect to visit all of San Antonio's sites as the bus stops immediately outside their front gates. The Mexican restaurant across the street is awesome and serves authentic Mexican food. Everyone in the office was helpful and friendly. We used the information others had provided, as directions to the resort and they were perfect (we had no problems with railway crossings). While they are not within walking distance to the Wal-Mart, the bus service is great and we utilized it during our visit. Would definitely return to this resort. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Start with a score of perfect 10. Knock off one point for water pressure so high it would explode your hose, unless you fill your own tank or buy a special gadget for $20. Subtract another point for ground so soft we had to re-level the trailer after one day. Subtract a half point for crowded spaces with minimal landscaping and another half point for lots of activities that aren’t advertised (unless you happen to visit the office during office hours). However, the playground, pool, hot tub, and showers are very nice; the paved roads between sites are smooth and wide; and our Verizon air card worked great. We didn't use the park Wi-Fi. As the other reviewers have mentioned, don’t let your GPS take you on a “shortcut†to the park. Come north on Roosevelt (past Mission San Jose) from the 410 Loop. DON’T come west on Southcross. The railroad tracks are hazardous. The park is frequently full, and you should reserve your space in advance. Our rate ($33/night) reflects a 15% discount for Escapees. You can’t use Passport America in March. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for a week and got weekly rate with senior discount. Very nice older park in the historic Mission area of San Antonio. This is not a "bad area of town" as some have stated, it just appears to be, because residents are not allowed to do anything to their homes without approval of the historical commission. Site was level and a bit tight, but comfortable. Laundry was very reasonably priced and clean. Wi-Fi worked great and was free. The park's personnel were great and appeared to want us to enjoy our visit. They supplied all the information we asked about. Older, Super Walmart was about 6 city blocks away. We would stay again. One note - call Travelers World for directions before attempting to locate. Do not approach using East Southcross Blvd because there is a very difficult RR grade crossing near the intersection of South Presa Street. Coming either direction over this RR grade crossing, you will probably scrap the rear of your rigs overhang!!! The approach from both top and bottom is extremely steep. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for the month of February and the weather was horrible but the park great. This is a well run park that gets high ratings for its close proximity to down town San Antonio and excellent management. We got the monthly rate of $410 plus power and went to the local Time-Warner store and hooked up to high speed internet which is already cabled to your site for $35/month. Wow was it fast. The park is made up of " Winter Texans " and transient RV's who meet at the Rec Center on Friday evenings for TGIF or the Pot Luck dinners on Monday evenings. This is a busy park that is often full so a reservation is a must. When you book your site the staff will remind you not to follow your GPS. The approach is around 410 then on to Roosevelt Avenue and up to TW. Do not come down South Cross or you will go over railway track that will high center your rig and do major damage. For "Winter Texans" looking for longer stays the park was quite muddy with all the rain. Problems with drainage from the golf course. The exercise area is not great with old, out dated equipment. It is however a very popular park that is well run. Don't forget to make a reservation. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is in an older part of town, but we never felt danger of any kind. The park borders a golf course so the view is pleasant for being in a urban setting. The patios are large and the pads are gravel but firmly packed. Lots of grass around for pets to use. Many seasonal residents but the park is very clean and uncluttered. Close to attractions and easy to get to. One suggested improvement may be a gated entrance to provide the feeling of security. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our third year to stay here. It is closest to downtown. It is an llder park but in very good shape. There are several long term sites but the park sits on the edge of a golf course. We camped here and found it not to be as the December 2009 review. It has been cleaned up, and although there are many long term people, the sites are clean and well maintained. It’s location is this campground’s main benefit as it is the closest to the downtown area that most tourist want to get to. The employees were very helpful and gave directions to get downtown via city bus or drive in. They gave out an information packet that is very helpful to sightseeing San Antonio. Great park but in a very bad area of town and very hard to find and map on website is useless. People were great; place is super clean and neat; great play parks for kids. A fair number of seasonal and park models but very well kept. Closest park to the Alamo with city bus across the street. But NOTHING around it by way of shopping (Wal-Mart is about 5 miles away and that is it) or restaurants. We would likely stay somewhere else because of the area and lack of services near the park. This campground gave us easy access to downtown San Antonio for all the many available things to see and do. A bus stop across the street will take you downtown throughout the day. The sites were gravel with concrete pads and were level. There is a public golf course immediately adjacent to the park. The workers were very friendly and helpful and you could even make arrangements for tours at the office. Overall, we were very pleased with our accommodations and would recommend the park. Additionally, there is a small Mexican restaurant directly across the street which you should definitely take advantage of if you stay at this park or even if you are in San Antonio. The food was delicious, the margaritas were excellent and the owners were extremely hospitable. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We recently spent 3 nights at this RV resort near the heart of San Antonio, TX. We were first drawn to this resort by a spectacular November/December 50% off special. Instead of the normal stated rate of $38.00, we enjoyed a rate of $19.00 per night. The resort is extremely neat and clean. The staff is ultra-helpful. It is located very near the Alamo and Riverwalk. City bus service is available right across the street from the office. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone going to San Antonio. Not their fault, but we had a torrential downpour the night before our departure and we had six inches of water standing. A work-camper assisted us by unplugging our electric. Very highly recommended. We stayed two nites, enjoyed San Antonio's River Walk which was very close by and liked the parks trees, asphalted drive ways and gravel pads. We run fans for white noise in the evening so was not upset by outside noise. The only reason for downgrade to an 8 was the that on our dog walks, (on leash), several of the long term residents had their dogs running free, and was charged twice. Hold on to those dogs and i would have given a 9. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a fantastic park! Very beautiful with lots of trees. Nice pool and well stocked store. We noticed the Fed Ex business behind the park, but there was no noise from it. The only reason I didn't give this park a 10 is the location. It was hard to find and not in a good part of town. We missed our exit and ended up taking back roads through neighborhoods. It was a little scary at night. Close to the Riverwalk. They have a trolley that picks up from the park to downtown so you don't have to drive. We did not stay here on our return trip. This was a nice park. The pool and spa were great! The bus stops right out the front which is handy to get into the city and explore the fascinating River Walk. Upon check-in the staff were very helpful, we've never been given so much information about a town! The Wi-Fi was free with moderate signal strength. Just be aware that a Federal Express shipping/loading facility is right next door and they load all night. Noise was a factor for us even though we did run our air. It's off of a main roadway with lots of road noise. Also, there was a train fairly close by that ran throughout the night and an occasional airplane. It had it all. Very nice campground. We got "Passport America" rate of $20 for one night. We opted for a second night for $40 because we want to go to the River Walk at night time. The staff was fabulous. There are full-timers here but they were not too "trashy" looking as they are at many parks we have stayed in. The roads are paved. Pull-throughs are gravel with concrete pads. Very well manicured and maintained is all I can say. This is one of the best in San Antonio. Just a few minutes from downtown. We usually stay at the KOA in San Antonio but due to an unpleasant experience I changed parks and this will be our new home when visiting San Antonio. Everything works as expected. The interior roads are paved and wider than average. Sites are gravel, not dirty gravel and not pea gravel more like crushed stone. Lots of shade, which is not a problem as the trees are of good age, tall, and trimmed high. It rained a lot, almost two days and there was no mess whatsoever. There is a park store but we didn't need it, there is an HEB Plus, Target, Wal-mart, etc. close by. Make sure you have a water regulator; the pressure is around 160 psi without it, but they will tell you this in the office. I didn't notice any traffic noise or noise from the golf course. Cable TV has around 70 channels that were crystal clear at our site for local and national news,etc. There was a fee for wi-fi, one of those, "pick you rate" things, but we were told there was free internet in the clubhouse area. I didn't use it though; I use my iphone when I can't use my laptop. Pool was clean and the hot tub was hot...and clean as well. We actually witnessed the owners/managers contemplating removing a family with unruly teenagers one night around 9:30 p.m. With 165 sites it's not really a problem with the good number of permanent residents, as their sites are just about the best kept I've seen around the country; but this is reason is why I don't give this place a 10. Odd you may think, but after a couple of days it almost seemed like you were being watched. There are lots of dog walkers and people walking for exercise, I guess. It seems like a neighborhood patrol. I started to make mental notes of all the people just walking around not really doing anything every time I stepped outside. We all look at other people's rigs and what not, but it just felt odd. I guess it was a good thing actually seeing people care about their surroundings. The place I do give a 10 is the restaurant across the street. I'm from Texas, been here since 1968 and I've had my share of TexMex food and tacos, but the Taqueria Guadalajara across the street ranks up with the best. I'm tellin' ya, don't bother with downtown, eat before you go to the River Walk, the prices are higher downtown and the food is not better. You won't find better food or friendlier staff. Downtown staff members are usually college students, at this place they are family. My hat's off to Travelers World and San Antonio, I can't wait to get back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is very well maintained and is on the bus route to downtown. We rode the bus several days and found it easy & convenient. At first we were assigned an awful site looking at a garage, while many other sites were open. We asked to be reassigned and got a more pleasant site under a tree, but it was very, very narrow; luckily we don't have slides, but we had our neighbors' slides almost touching us. Good laundry room. Stayed a week; price reflects weekly rate. Would return if we could get one of the outside sites that back up to a golf course and are much more private. Enjoyed San Antonio a lot; lucked out and were there for Fiesta. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Water pressure in park is 160 lbs. Be sure and use a regulator. Wi-Fi costs $4.95 but they did mention that it was suppose to be free starting tomorrow May 1. Just my luck. Also Passport America starts May 1. They wouldn't even give that to anyone even one day in advance. Not that is cheap in my book. Of course you only get one night at PA prices. The only way to go down town is to use the bus. The bus stop is just across the road and it is line #42. When you get ready to come back to the campground walk down to St. Marys street and stand at a bus stop that has a #42 listed on the sign and wait for a bus with the number 42 and Roosevelt Ave and Military Drive on the front read out. It cost $1.10 to ride each way and you need the correct change. Ask the bus driver where you are going to downtown and he will tell you what street you need to get off at. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very accessible location to all the San Antonio sites. City bus stop is right outside the main office and will take you wherever you need to go. We were not able to stay at the premium site, so ours was a little tight for a 40' big rig. Your neighbor was almost on top of you. We stayed in this park for two weeks separated by 10 days while we visited other areas in Texas. This is one of the friendliest parks we've been in during our 9 months of travel. The park is very convenient to everything including the Riverwalk, Alamo and the Missions. A city bus stops right across the street from the entrance and costs $1.10 if you want to leave your tow car behind when visiting the attractions downtown. The premium sites which we stayed in are pull through, easy access, gravel pads with concrete patios and a picnic bench. Very clean. The laundry is fairly large and clean and reasonably priced compared to most at only $1.00 for the washer and the same for the dryers. The only reason I didn't give this one a 10 out of 10 is that Wifi is not included and must be purchased from Tengo Internet. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is on a weekly basis. We spent the winter at this very nice urban park, which is superior to most parks in cities. It is conveniently located near downtown. A city bus that drops you at the Riverwalk in 15 minutes stops in front of the park. There is also direct access out the park's back gate to an 8-mile bike trail next to the San Antonio River, which we enjoyed very much. The management and employees are very friendly and helpful and operate the park in a very efficient manner. The park is attractive and meticulously maintained. The pull-thru sites are very long and wide with grass and some trees between the sites and patios and picnic tables at all sites. Most of the back-in sites are short and narrow. Since this park is fully booked throughout the winter, make reservations far in advance and try to get a pull-thru. Avoid sites at the south end of the park (approximately pull-thru sites above #100 and nearby back-ins) because of the FedEx facility next door. It is very noisy at all hours of the day and night. We used our own Internet card so we did not use the parks fee-based service. We were able to use our satellite dome for TV, although we also used the park's excellent cable TV service. We will return whenever we visit San Antonio. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park close to downtown. It was great that the bus stops at the park for downtown. The only bad thing about this park is the high cost of Wifi. $4.95 a day. When you pay $32 for a site it should have free WiFi. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great place to stay while touring San Antonio. It is right on the bus line and you can't beat the staff. We arrived late and they escorted us to our site and said just check in the next day. We came to see San Antonio and not an RV Park so this was a great place with good connections and quiet rest after a long day of sightseeing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is an easy find right in town. It is right on the bus line for easy access to many things. The sites are very, very narrow of crushed rock, with some grassy areas between sites. The interior roads are asphalt. The biggest problem with the sites are they are very short and very narrow....so much so that we have a 28' fifth wheel, and had to park our truck at an angle in front of our site. They explained that some parked their vehicles in front of office....not something that we were willing to do. The office staff was terrific, and actually put us into a different site than was originally given to us as it was just adequate for our rig...which is not very long at all. Their laundry room was one of the best I have ever used, with 8 washers and dryers, and their pool and grounds are very well maintained. The most negative thing about the park is the high price of Wi-Fi at your site being $4.95 per day, the lack of a phone jack at your site, and the availability of only one computer for use in the office area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Check in staff was very friendly and helpful. The park is very clean and well kept. Laundromat is clean and reasonable. Large Recreation room. The city bus picks you up right across the street, much easier that driving downtown. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The best part about this park is the location. It is close to downtown San Antonio. It is a well kept park with some activities. The bathrooms are just okay and I was never able to get hot water out of the bathroom faucet. The men didn't have that trouble. Over all if you want to be near down town it is a good place to stay. A KOA in all but name: big, well-developed, by a major road (which at least is not a highway), good amenities, but noisy and somewhat expensive. Our site was right next to a Fedex shipping facility, which was noisy, and a golf course, which was being renovated, so that earth moving equipment was making noise. Electric and water are located together for pairs of sites, which mean your hose or electric cable may not reach if you are on the "wrong" side; we had to borrow an extension cord. As others have said, a single bus ride takes you to the wonderful Riverwalk area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very clean well organized park just minutes from downtown San Antonio. The roads are asphalt and the sites are level crushed stone. The spaces are ample in both length and width with some trees (we had a banana tree). Avoid the south side of the park which is adjacent to a site that is in the process of construction with a lot of banging until 5:30 each night. The north side is against a park and I would specify this area if available. The site is clean and neat. We would come again but avoid the south side. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park in which to stay and visit San Antonio. The city bus stops right in front of the park and takes you into town. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Laundry was very nice, restrooms good. Shaded sites available. It is quite a distance from the freeway and the signage could be better. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

By far the best RV Park we have ever stayed in. The price is great, the location is great, the management is great and the activities were great. The only negative part was that there were very few activities until the Winter Texans showed up. The location is not bad since a quick walk out the gate will put you at the city bus stop for a trip up the road into the biggest small town in America. And a trip to the oais at the river walk is a must for everyone. First Friday of every month is great fun. The fall German Fest is great. A GREAT experience !!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

An oasis in the middle of San Antonio. The park is very clean and well maintained. The park has been around for a long time, and there are many tall shade trees. If we ever need to stay in San Antonio again, it will be with the good folks at Traveler's World RV Park. Wireless internet is available through TengoInternet, and was fast enough for me to work from the trailer all week while my wife attended her conference. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice, good sized RV park with a mix of pull-thru and back-in sites. Large concrete lots with grassy separators and picnic table. FHU @ site with cable TV. Wi-Fi available thru Tengo Internet but daily rate is $4, weekly $13, Monthly $30. Decent sized clean pool & hot tub area. Kids playground. San Antonio transit buses every 30 minutes right in front of the entrance, $1 fixed fare. Plenty of shopping, restaurants, etc. close by. San Antonio Riverwalk is a must see for the shops and restaurants. Also, The Alamo. Highly recommended. ** Make sure to use a water pressure regulator or you WILL split your hose. **. Kind of a mix between a mobile home park, full time trailer park, and overnighters. Good location. Make sure you have a pressure regulator for water. Park pressure is 165 pounds. Not a destination park but good for overnight. Roads paved, sites graveled. And we had a "premium" site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park close to town, make sure you follow website directions to the campground - gps will give you a low clearance road. Golf right next door and nice walking and biking trail. Pool and hot tub were excellent. Rec hall very nice and clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a really well located park for sightseeing, and getting around. The bus at the gate makes it easy to get to the wonderful River Walk and downtown. The place is large and sites are ample, lovely trees, and the maintenance/landscape crew had a project nearly everyday. Although we only used the laundry facilities, while enjoying the spa, both were clean and worked very well. The view of the golf course is mostly obscured by the unkempt brush on the fencing, that view could be lovely. The WIFI is available, but was the pay for service variety, geared more for the long term guests. Our on board internet service worked very well. This is a nice quiet park to use as home base for getting to know San Antonio. It saddened me that no recycling was available, it seems they used to do it, but....... no one seemed to know. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is very convenient for sight seeing the San Antonio area, as it is on a bus route. We used the bus several times and we felt safe. Park was well maintained and the staff very friendly. Bath house was clean and needed a code in order to enter, adding to the security of this park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

Second February we've stayed here. Since last year, all roads have been resurfaced! It was good in 2007; it is better, even cleaner in 2008. Pool is heated and was in use every day while we were there. We made advance reservations with late arrival and everything went smoothly. Clean, safe, and near River Walk. The staff was very friendly. Maps of the resort and city were provided at check-in. My site was a pull through with with a solid gravel base and a concrete patio. All the roads were recently repaved. The resort is adjacent to a nice city park and a bike trail. This is the closest RV park to the San Antonio River Walk. The Passport America rate was good for the first night of my stay. WiFi signal was good. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an in-town park. It is older, in an older part of town. That said, we didn't feel any security risk. A little road noise but not bad. Interior roads a little rough but O.K. Sites are pretty wide and level with convenient individulal hook-ups (although the electricity h/u was on the curb side). A concrete pad and table at each site. Good staff. Several miles from I-10 (we got lost). It appears most sites have long-termers. It is convenient to most of the sites here. We would come back if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is the closest to the Riverwalk area, but is defiantly not "walking distance" to the Riverwalk area. We had to drive to the Rivercenter Mall because I didn't want to ride the city bus to the downtown area which is about 3 miles away. The sites were nice and level, but seemed like the yard folks cut grass and run weedeaters around your rig every day. The WiFi is NOT included in the daily rate, but the signal appeared strong. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have a dually/36' high-profile fifth wheel. Our pull-through site was adequate with a little levelling required. Good size site with plenty of room. Friendly, helpful staff. I needed a place close to downtown San Antonio & Traveler's World fit the bill! Right on the bus route and 10 minutes from the Convention Center. Amenities included: pool, hot tub, clean restrooms/showers, laundry, exercise room, gift shop, Wi-Fi available, and cable. Grounds nicely landscaped & kept up. HUGE dog walk connected to park along with 8 mile hike 'n bike trail along the San Antonio River. I would stay here again! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Nice, if a bit crowded (many "snowbirds"), campground in a good location (pay attention to directions to avoid a bad railroad crossing). It had a nice staff, clean buildings, paved and level sites. Interior streets and pads are a little "tight". Trees interfered with my satellite dish. My gravel pad (#91, a pull-through) was muddy due to a leaking water faucet. Did not hook up to water or sewer because I had to position my coach too far away in order to avoid the mud. Was told at desk that water pressure is 160 lbs., so you have to use a reducer. The park is very convenient to downtown San Antonio. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy access and interior roads. Great pull throughs. We had 2 sites for one night. Neither of us had to unhook. Our sites were about 60' deep. We had reservations. Park appeared almost sold out on Sunday night. Bus to downtown, Alamo and riverwalk area for $1. Good cable tv but wifi was $4 per day. Great swimming pool. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Exceeded our expectations. Older, yes, but very clean. We had advance reservations and late arrival and everything worked as we were told. Bus access to River Walk was the main reason we stayed here, and were not disappointed. Nice shopping just a few blocks south and the Missions were even closer. We have a conference that brings us to San Antonio every February and we will make this our home each year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here because of the location to the city center of San Antonio. There is city bus that stops in front of the gate to the rv park and goes downtown to the Alamo/Riverwalk area in only 10 minutes for $1.00 per person.....a very good reason for camping here!! The pull through sites are easy in and out....the entrance to the park is easy in/easy out, and the access to the major interstates is very good. Sites are fairly well maintained....they need more gravel but they do have a nice concrete patio pad. We would definitely stay at this campground again! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The main reason we selected this park was its location; it's only 4 miles from the Riverwalk/Alamo area. I would agree with some earlier reviews that the neighborhood surrounding the park is a little rundown, but did not ever feel unsafe. The office staff was very helpful; at the time of our check in, they provided tourist information including the bus schedule, the directions to the Riverwalk area, and even recommendations on which park garages were easiest to get in & out of. They did have a pool, but it was closed at the time of our visit. Despite being an older park, it was well-kept and the sites were maintained and clean. We would definitely stay here again for the convenience of the location. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As we compare this park to some that are in the Good Sam Directory, we wonder how in the world they can be so highly rated! The roads are bad, and the park is generally less than advertised as being by Good Sam. The only plus they have is their location to the center of town. They need to repair their roads, etc. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This could hardly be called a resort. It is an older park with some parts kept up pretty well, some not. The roads are pretty deteriorated and watch out for the killer speed bumps. We first were put in a spot where the sewer was located a good 20 feet away and the "patio" was so broken up it was dangerous, so we had to request a move. Second spot was OK. Positives--very long pull throughs, baths and pool well maintained, very convenient to downtown attractions, grounds kept up well, very good access to long bike trail along the river. Office staff was fairly helpful. Bus to downtown picks up across the street from the entry, very convenient if you're not pulling a toad. Negatives--a lot of permanents, expensive WiFi (though we readily found a free site with strong signal strength), some road noise and morning noise as the permanents went to work. We'd stay here again if we wanted to be close to downtown. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A mature park with a fair number of what look to be long-term residents, but also a lot of in-and-out traffic. Very convenient to downtown (about 3 miles), and actually within the Mission district. Sites are wide enough, but not huge, good shade trees, excellent cable TV, extremely helpful staff. Didn't find the water pressure to be all that high. More noise from all the birds than anything else. A little spendy, plus paid WiFi keeps it from getting a full 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very convenient to downtown San Antonio. Less than 4 miles driving, or an 80 cent bus ride; the bus stops about every 30 minutes, right at the campground. Sites are long, level, and adequately wide; tree branches could possibly get in the way of awnings. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Watch your speed, however, we were chastised for going 8 mph, in their 10 mph speed zone. Electric power was fine; water pressure was very high. Staff highly recommends using pressure reducers. Many permanents, some in rather run down rv's; all seemed friendly. Campground could use some sprucing up, but the location is super. Definitely would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I actually stayed here for three months. It is located close to an old mission and the people were very nice. The thing that stands out about this place is they have a club house and regular events and entertainment. A very social park. I recommend this one. The only bad thing about it is it is in South San Antonio which isn't the best part of town but the park is secure and I wouldn't hesitate returning when and if I'm back in San Antonio. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I don't recall the exact nightly rate...I believe it was around $35. We stayed here for 3 nights during Spring Break. Good points include: Pull through, clean bathroom, nice playground for the kids, pool was warm in cool March weather...hot tub was even warmer...and clean, reasonably close to Riverwalk and Alamo. I wanted to use the computer in the office to access the internet, but was told it required me to have an AOL account to access. I was disappointed to not have internet access while we were there. I believe they had WIFI, but I did not have a wireless laptop with me. There was a pretty heavy storm our first night there and a few sites were flooded with ankle deep water for a day. Lucky for us ours stayed dry. The thing that would draw us back to this campground if in the area again is the pool. The kids loved it. It was great to be able to swim comfortably in 70 degree weather in March. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

For a park so much in the city, it was quite nice. Sites were easy to access, if a bit close. A few scraggly trees. Good exercise room, which I need for health reasons, was a plus. Nice and quiet, great pool, nice playground, bathrooms spotless, very understanding in regards to our problem because of the hurricane, refunded our next nights deposit so we could continue on around the damage. lot of mud due to rain, needs gravel. Very nice city park next door to walk in. Play ground equipment for kids. Park was clean. Noise was low at night. Nearest to Riverwalk. Very easy getting in and out and only a couple of minuites of
Riverwalk. 8 Mile paved bike trail adjacent to the park (as well as a golf course). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
