The rate reflects a 50% senior discount. First, a note, the noted flooding is past. It is a beautiful campground and could be a great place to camp, except there are problems. It is very crowded, even during midweek in October. The reason that it is busy is that the local folks have found a way to get around the stay limits and stay there for weeks, even months, at a time. They set up pretty much permanent sites and they use lots of lights. It is not a camping experience, but more like an old campground with lots of permanent campers. Too bad. We would stay here again for passing through, but not as a destination campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Really nice park, trees, trees, trees, and tall! The volunteers at the front gate make you feel like family. One of the nicest COE's that I have stayed. Lots of space between sites. If you want to use a satellite dish, well good luck, the trees are so tall and so thick, it may be next to impossible to get a signal. I had to run about 200 feet of cable to a clear spot. I will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate reflects a senior discount. The main road into the campground is still closed because of flooding, as noted by an earlier reviewer. Also, part of the campground is closed because of flooding. We have stayed at this CG before and, had I reviewed it then, I would have given it a higher rating. The CG is nice but it was very, very crowded. That would have been OK had the rules been enforced, but they were not. Even though the rules say that cars must be parked on pavement, cars and boats were parked everywhere. Many of the sites had many more than the allowed number of campers. This made getting around difficult and the campground to be rather unpleasant. The crowds were probably because of spring break, and because parts of this and other nearby campgrounds were closed because of the flooding. So do come to this CG, but try to pick times when it will be less crowded. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground was dificult to get to because recent flooding had closed main road to campground. Detour was via small alternative roads with tight corners and low branches. One campground loop was closed but all others were open. B Loop is waterfront and 50amp with several sites featuring decks overlooking the lake right at your patio door. All sites were heavily treed. Interior roads are a little tight for big rigs but workable. All sites were paved with concrete patio sites with picnic tables. Shower house was clean. Playground was just a set of swings. Reservations reccomended for big rigs or waterfront campsites. Overall impression was beautiful campground with great COE rate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I would have drug the bottom of the trailer if I had not previously installed larger axles which raised the trailer about 3 inches. To get to the park from Hwy 67 go to FM 2148, east of park and enter on Sorsby Lane about 3 miles south. From Hwy 59 go north on FM2148 to Sorsby Lane. The phone number shown is for the COE Reservations. You need the park number 903-838-8636 to speak to the park host. It had been raining a lot before we arrived and the A sites were under water. This also caused Sorsby Lane to be flooded, so we had to use Trexler Rd, a narrow road which follows the railroad tracks to FM 1218 and then to FM 2148. This is a rough road but passable. This is a beautiful park. I will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects NP Access Pass. Park is very easy to find but follow the directions sent to you with the reservations. My Garmin GPS wanted me to go down a very small road where I would have hgh-centered at a railroad crossing. This is a great park with all facilities needed bu us for our short 2-day stay. We were in A-19 by the lake. We'll be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice clean Corps of Engineers park on Lake Wright-Patman. Sites are very long, very
shady in some sections. Plenty of room for big rig and slides. Nice waterfront sites. Each site has a picnic table, grill and utility table. Beach area is very clean. Restrooms very clean with marble counter tops and flooring. We were only there for 2 nights, but are planning to go back for a week with grandchildren. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground. Nice, big, roomy, and clean sites. The lake is just a few yards away. This is the quite side of the lake. All paved roads and gravel level sites. The staff is very friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a fair corps park. It has good sites with full hookups if needed. While it is nice to have trees totally around you - it is not good for satellite reception. So if you need to watch TV you might want to select a site, if you can find one, without trees. The bathrooms were grungy and typical campground type of surroundings. Fortunately it had rained so we didn't have to smell any campfires. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park with spacious, mostly shaded sites. Of course shaded sites mean spotty satellite reception. Verizon wireless card works fine. 48 sites but one small bathhouse with two showers each side. No place to hold your soap or shampoo, doors are warped and do not provide privacy. I would give the park a 10 if not for the washrooms and lack of sewer hookup. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a great park. We had some issues with the electrical box in site 31 so we were able to move to site 1 which was perfect. The site had a lot of shade although we could not see the lake but we enjoyed our privacy. The site were quite big. This is a beautiful park and we will be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects Golden Passport discount. Park was a little difficult for us to locate, but it is a beautiful setting on a lake. Lots of trees made satellite reception difficult, but we did get a signal and had a good Verizon signal as well. I was a little surprised to see some longer term campers and it was fairly dark at night but the stars were nice. We only stayed two nights and had to clean the tops of our slides as the walnuts and acorns were falling. We would definitely stay again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best Corp parks that I have stayed in. Very clean, very spacious sites, and close to Atlanta, TX. (12 Miles), It is close to Super Walmart for groceries. I am definitely staying again when I am in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

When we arrived, we had to take another site because they were cutting trees down at our reserved site, which had sewer hook up. We were able to get a site on the water with a most beautiful view. The staff were very nice. Sites are well spaced with concrete picnic tables. There is a lot of privacy between sites. It is very quiet here, a lot of nice shade trees, and the grounds are well kept. We would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great COE park. We paid senior rate with Golden Access card. We chose a site without sewer so we had the water view. Some roads are tight for motorhomes but not a problem if you go slow and be careful. Computer wireless card service was poor but phone was OK. Our site was nice and level but some are a bit sloped. All in all we spent a great 6 days here and will come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park. Sites are large with a nice picnic table. We camped here in a 45ft motorhome and found some of the turns very tight. A lot of the sites are unlevel. There are a few sites with full hook-ups. Convenient dump station. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is probably the nicest campground we've ever stayed in. All of the roads and sites are paved (blacktop) and extremely shady due to all the trees throughout the park. All of the sites are huge...our site was on the end and just our patio area alone was bigger than a 3-car garage. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, charcoal grill, prep table and trash can. The restrooms and showers were very clean. There were quite a few kids, but the park was very quiet after dark. A very nice paved boat ramp is right there at the campground. We would definitely stay here again or at any other Corps of Engineers park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Waterfront sites have easy access to the lake, not a steep cliff or long walk through the weeds. Sites very well maintained. Most of the better sites are back in. It's best to get here before sundown so you don't get lost, it covers a pretty large area. With the Golden Age passport it's half price. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Typically nice COE park. Rates went up as of Jan 1 2009 by $2, ($1 for seniors). I had hoped for more choices of sites, but it was pretty full for early April. Cell modem service is good via Alltel which Verizon considers part of its "extended" network. Very friendly and helpful park hosts. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We found getting there very difficult as the campground was VERY poorly marked from highway 59. Look for the Shell station. The entrance is next to it. We really like this place. The lake is great and the majority of the sites are very well shaded. Most you can reserve but a minimum number are first come first served. Not all sites have sewer hookups however. We would definitely camp here again. The Golden Access pass halved the daily rate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice large sites with beautiful view of lake on wooded setting. Was able to get satellite with our rooftop dome. Big rig friendly. We were in site C-2 (30 amp). We would return. Wonderful, spacious park. The only real minus was the Looonng wait to check in. It seems the staff works at one pace, slow! They seemed unconcerned about the people waiting to check in. This is a US Corps Of Engineers park, but it seemed that the office staff was a private company and not Corps personel. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful concrete and well-groomed grass sites plus paved roads. WELL worth the drive off of I-30. Just $27 with a Good Sam discount. We travel 3-4 months a year throughout the USA and count this as one of the nicest parks we've stayed in. Pleasant check-in, huge social room, and excellent Wi-Fi. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Slightly outside of town, but worth the drive. Nice RV park with long concrete slabs, angled to pull in and out without tearing up the grounds. Full hookups, up to date and easily accessible. Fair amount of space between sites. Appeared to be a few long term folks, but areas are well kept. Very big rig friendly, staff very nice. Park is small, but plenty of room for turns. Pond is stocked and private so no license required. Great for overnight or a few days. Would stay here again. We were in a 42' toyhauler with 2 min pins and a German Shepherd. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park does a wonderful job of providing excellent accommodations and good value. Although it is not a "luxury" location, what is provides is pretty near perfect. There is an RV parts store next door, we bought some spare parts which ended up not fitting our fifth wheeler. The staff at the RV park refunded our money for us as the store wasn't open on Sunday. Newer, cleaner park. Very well maintained, with plush grass throughout the park. Pretty pond surrounded by leaves changing for Fall. Good laundry (3 washer and 2 dryers; whose idea was that?). Nice, clean restrooms and shower rooms. Nice big meeting room. Friendly host that lives onsite. RV dealer and parts place onsite. Shore power is good, sewer is good, and water is @ 80psi. Campground Wi-Fi is better than Verizon and Sprint Air cards. AT&T is good. No Cable TV. This campground is great. Good concrete roads, level sites, long enough for my Truck and Trailer, wide enough making it easy to pull on to, and plenty of room between sites. We stayed in B10 which has a large grass area where we could walk the dog easily. There is a pond outside the park area and a RV Service and parts within walking distance. Restrooms and laundry are good. Office and hall are great. It even smelled great when we went in to register. Payment is with credit card, check or cash and Sams 10% discount. Long term tenants are only a couple but not sure if they are here full time. This is a well kept park. I don't give a 10 to many parks but this one deserves it. I will stay here again when we are in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is one our favorites. Lush green mowed grass. The RV park was surrounded by trees. The park is all concrete drive ways and level concrete pads. We have a 36 foot motor home with a toad and did not have to unhook. Great space between the pads. Water pressure was 40 PSI and our SurgeGuard had no faults indicated. Great speed on the WiFi. Maybe it was the time of the year, but we experienced no bugs, flies or mosquitoes. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is well worth the short trip off the interstate. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park - clean, paved, level sites with grass and young trees in between. Manager was very nice, and everything was clean - bathrooms, laundry, rec room, even the trash bin! This park has certainly earned their "Top Rated" awards! We camped in a 40 ft. with toad without having to unhook. Rate includes 2 children. Full hookups and internet worked great. A warning about mapping to this site - my Garmin had the address location correct but iPhone maps and Mapquest.com show it at a different location. Follow the website's directions, they are 5 miles from Kings Hwy, next to Shady Pines RV Center. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've stayed in this park in the past and really loved it. However, when we plugged in to the electricity, our Surge-Guard said there was an open ground. We moved to another site and had the same problem. When we talked to the owner, she said that they've had an electrician in and he couldn't find any problem, but everyone with a Surge-Guard type device showed the same thing. Those without them seemed to work. We had to run the generator for the length of our stay. We were not even offered a discount. Otherwise, it's a nice park with robust wifi, and wide concrete roads and sites. We stayed here in a motor home. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very nice, clean park on concrete pads. Have stayed here several times on our way to points further south and on the way home. Slightly "out of the way" but worth it. It is also next door to a RV dealer so it could be handy if you are having any problems with your unit. Office hours seem to be from 3:00 until 7:00pm. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The initial appearance included great landscaping, beautiful entry, concrete drive and pad sold us on this being an exceptional RV park. We were right when we went inside to check in. Everyone was exceptionally nice and the grounds were well taken care of. I wish I could find places like this all the time. They take pride in there facility. It would be great for a small rally. A great park for a one night stop or a long stay. Fantastic Free Wi-Fi. Long level pull through sites. The grass and picnic tables are a nice touch. Very nice Rally Room for RV Groups. They are on Hwy 67, not far off I-30 and Highway 59, 4-5 miles, but far enough that there is no road noise or traffic. Next door is Shady Pines RV Center, Sales, Service and Supplies. 3 miles south west is Redwater, TX, with a nice grocery store and The Redwater Diner. We were traveling from Hwy 59N to I-30 East and it only added 3 miles to our route and beats anything else we have stayed at in the Texarkana area We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground itself is a 9. It is clean, well maintained, the sites are level concrete pads and are pretty good size. Interior roads are wide and smooth and the manager is extremely helpful. There is no cable TV but local stations are available on the antenna and there is no problem with satellite. The reason for the 7? We had several issues of both low and high power surges that resulted in our surge protector shutting down the power. If I had not had a surge protector it could have created serious problems. The issue was not a park issue, but is with the local power supplier, but it is an issue none the less. If you do not have a surge protector then beware. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was several miles from the Interstate, but it was extremely clean, newish and lovely. The roads and sites are concrete. Our site was quite level. There is lovely grass between sites. The owner said she wanted a park in which she'd like to stay. It isn't a destination park, but it's a great overnight park. She even had an ice machine in the building with the office which was there for everyone's use. There is no cable, but you get all the major channels on your antenna and satellite was no problem. We'd definitely stay again if we're in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great RV park! Nice, level sites with concrete slabs for you to park, but grass on either side with nice picnic tables. There is a small lake at the park with plenty of room for kids to run around and release their energy after a long day of driving. You can fish there, but we didn't try it. The park is quiet and surrounded by trees, so we had a very peaceful night's sleep. The staff in the office were extremely friendly and helpful. They don't have cable, but we were able to get the network channels just fine with our antenna, so it was not big deal to us. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it. This is new park with 100% concrete and long pull through sites and wide turns. It is Green, Green, Green with a well stocked lake but no trees on the sites to scratch you. Well worth the 10 minutes off the highway. It is the last quality park just off 59 until you reach Houston. The 45' Bus was extremely happy here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has brand new, enormous showers, the best you will probably find anywhere in the country. It is not very close to the freeway, and all the construction and detours got our GPS so confused that we had to stop for directions. But it is well worth it to go here. Nice, quiet park w/concrete pads and sturdy picnic tables. Has grass at each site. A wonderful view of a large pond surrounded by trees (looked like a golf course). The pond setting, viewed out our RV's back window was a very peaceful setting. The managers were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a 35ft 5th wheel, had no problem for the 3 slides. The park is off the beaten path so was no road noise at all. Very early in the morning hours we heard the faint sound of a train off in the distance. Would definitely stay here again. Came in late and settled the next morning. Hosts are very friendly. Concrete driveways and concrete pads in a well manicured grassy park surrounded by trees make this one our favorite sites. Lamp on the power pedestal was burned out so a handy flashlight came to the rescue. Cable TV was not working according to a sign in the entrance. Great Wi-Fi signal strength, but response time was slower than dial-up speed and for secure connections it was so slow it was not usable (over 20 minutes). This was our first time here since TV went digital. We could only pick up 2 channels: FOX and NBC. Satellite reception should have been wonderful, but our unit on the RV decided not to work. Verizon cell phone strength was excellent. In spite of all our communication problems, we will still definitely come here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a really very nice park with wide concrete roads and wide concrete level sites that made it super easy to maneuver around. The grass between every piece of concrete is lush, well cut, and edged perfectly. There is not a spot of bare ground anywhere to be seen. The attendant was very nice. The park sits on the edge of a little lake with fishing allowed. The TV cable was not working. There is plenty room between sites and a real feeling of openness and not being crowded at all. We loved this campground. The staff was super friendly and I was given short-cut directions instead of using our GPS to get there: well worth the extra miles off I-30. Our site backed up to a small lake/pond view. There is a green and spacious grassy area: heaven for walking dogs. The restrooms were beautiful. The laundry was nice: 2 washers/2 dryers $1.50 each and got the job done. The cable TV was still out: I wonder if perhaps they have disconnected it? They offered free Wi-Fi but we kept losing the internet in spite of a strong signal. Will make this a stop for sure when traveling west. Highly recommend this campground over all others in the Texarkana area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here during the height of summer. The park is very clean, sites are spacious and the restrooms maticulous! We did not shower in the park showers, but the staff made sure we saw them on arrival and knew where all amenities were. The cable was out of service throughout the park: don't know why. What gives here? How can anyone rate this campground, which is really a parking lot (albeit a neat and clean parking lot), a 10/10? Granted the amenities are first-rate, Wi-Fi signal is strong, and so on; but there is zero natural beauty, no view, no nature, save a few saplings here and there. If this place rates 10/10, what score can we give to spectacular campgrounds with great views, like Campfire Lodgings in Asheville? A campground is more than a Wi-Fi signal and a heated restroom, in our opinion. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The utilities are very accessible and conveniently situated. The grassy areas are well groomed. The office and rec building are immaculate. Price reflects a Good Sam discount; still a little high in my opinion, but the hospitality was first-rate. I was greeted warmly at the door and check-in was friendly & efficient. Even though the park was well-occupied when we arrived we were still offered a choice of the remaining available sites. Since this is a newer, nicer RV Park it has long concrete pads w/patio & picnic table, FHU, and free-fast WiFi. Mostly small trees at the sites (some towering pines along the park's perimeter) so satellite signal was not blocked. Laundry & Restrooms close, clean & convenient - never saw any showers (presumably in a separate area?). Following rains, the ground around the pond (lake?) was marshy. That might account for the air sometimes smelling unpleasant as well as affecting the taste of the tap water. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I don't usually give 10's, but if a beautiful park without playgrounds or accommodations for kids, is OK with you, then this is a 10. This is one of the best kept secrets in Texas. It has concrete drives and pads. We stayed in a 36 foot motor home with slides and had not problems at all. Sites are spacious with individual picnic tables. Grass is manicured as well as a golf green. There is a very large pond with a water fountain. Host building with showers, laundry and banquet area is new. Showers are individual rooms all done in very nice tile. They are very likely much nicer than your shower at home. Trees around the edge of the park make this a idyllic setting. It is about 5 miles south off I-30 Nash exit and 5 miles west on Hwy 67, but it is well worth the 10 mile detour. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a beautiful park with paved roads and pads. The staff was very friendly and competent. There was a beautiful activity building, and an RV service center was located just next door. The sites had lighted utility pedestals and picnic tables. There were no grills, and no fires were allowed. There was a small fishing lake. The restrooms and showers were very clean, but had a little unusual configuration. There were individual showers which were just that, a shower--no sink, no mirror, no toilet--with just a bench for your clothes and toiletries. Then around the corner were large individual dressing rooms with a toilet, sink, and mirror. The rooms were very nice, but even so this arrangement meant you had to get dressed after a shower and leave that room and go to another to shave or dry your hair, etc. I assume the idea was that some people could use the showers while different people used the dressing room. I personally found this arrangement to be a bit of an inconvenience, but only a very minor one. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Shady Pines RV Park is an excellent park. Management is the most polite I have met so far. All concrete 90 foot long pull thru’s and back-in sites with plenty of room between each site. Small, free fishing lake that requires no license to fish and keep your catch. The large activities building, bathrooms, and showers are the cleanest that I have seen to date. Free cable TV and free Wi-Fi at each site and phone on some sites. Wi-Fi worked great at our site. Park is not on I-30 but close enough to make for easy off and back on for short stops. Also, Bryce’s Cafeteria (8 miles from park) is the best cafeteria you will ever eat at. This is a great park to stay for short or long term visits. Many sites to see all within a little over an hours drive (casinos in Shreveport, the mountains at Mena, and Lake Wright Patman). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Funny story- The sprinkler system throughout the park turns on in different areas at different times. Our area was about 3AM and I thought I had a leak in a water line. When I went out to investigate my legs were sprayed from the knees down. WIFI was very weak and when reported they said they had just changed providers and still had some bugs to work out. We spent two nights here. All concrete paved roads and parking spaces, pull-thru's and back-ins with nice grassy area between each site with clean picnic tables. WiFi now avilable. Very, very, very nice husband and wife managers. Absolutely the cleanest restrooms, shower rooms and laundry I've ever been in. There is a small lake and the surrounding grounds are well manicured. All of the pull-thru's and some back-in sites have a West exposure on door side of your RV which makes it rather warm and sunny in the afternoons but what the heck, you can sit outside your RV on the off door side if you can't stand being in the sun. Very clean campground and friendly management but sites are very tight. The roads are narrow and moving a big rig here is difficult. On the way to my site I turned onto a campground road and a motorhome hit my trailer with its' mirror. I ended up with a dent in the back corner of my 3 month old trailer. The motorhome ended up with a mirror hanging by a cable. When I finally got into my site I stuck out by 2 feet on both ends. My truck and trailer combined are 53 feet. I didn't like this situation. In the morning I had to wait for the Itasca next to me to pull away before I could leave. The attendant told me that not to worry because I wasn't the first to have a fender-bender at this KOA. Big rigs stay away from here. Trailers up to 25 feet are probably okay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed staying the night here. Showers and bathrooms were clean and we got a strong Wi-Fi signal. We could hear the highway when outside of our rig, but it was quiet once we were inside. You can either choose easy on/off access to the highway with a little noise or you can choose a secluded park that is difficult to find at night with less noise. We like easy on/off access. The office staff was friendly and helpful. The park is a bit dated, but we consider that to be a plus. All of the kinks have been worked out, and the staff is very familiar and aware of any potential problems that they steer you clear of. We liked this park for an overnight spot. Park is difficult to get in and out of right now due to the road construction in the area. We didn't find a lot of things to do in the area. Our site was long enough for our 5th wheel and truck. Wi-Fi works well. Some sites are fairly close together; ours was fine. Seems to be a lot of year round people here. Nice trail for walking our dog. The RV Art Gallery was nice and had a good selection. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is a dated and could use some work. Some of the sites look like the could do with a leveling off although ours was fine. WI-Fi was no problem although a little slow (streaming Netflix won't work) but emails etc were fine. It was a little loud being right next to I-30 but we knew the location when we pulled in so that was our choice. Fellow in the office was friendly and helpful. For a 1 night stop this was not that bad. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It was just okay. Very noisy with interstate traffic and trains. Very small rough interior roads. We used it as an overnight stop, but next time we'll stop at another place. When we called for availability the office clerk never mentioned the awful construction mess. Probably won't stop here again. Lots of old campers and fulltimers. We camped here in a Motorhome.

An old campground that should be retired. It was full of oil field workers and the spaces are narrow and the roads are bad. The staff was not friendly. We stayed because we were tired and it was on the way but will never come back. No internet even thought they said they had Wi-Fi. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff was OK but not all that friendly. The sites are very tight and not much room. They do have a couple of sites that are bigger, but you must call the office to reserve one of these sites. Do not rely on the internet reservations. Due to all the I-30 construction trying to get to the KOA is a nightmare, and all the traffic noise is horrible. My advise if your driving a big rig you might want to think about another RV park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical KOA and nothing we found was unexpected but we needed a place to stop for the night. Difficult to find the entrance (tons of construction going on on I-30 so the exits are not well marked, the lanes are narrow, the turns are tight) and just a difficult to get out of because of the preceding. Sites are OK if you get one you can get into, get unhooked and somewhat level. The facilities looked good and the park was neat and well maintained. The staff was "lukewarm" but not unfriendly. Wi-Fi for us was unusable even though I could "see" the connection, I could not use it. Again, I usually try to avoid KOAs now as you never know what you are going to get anymore, but we were tired and didn't want to go further that day. We won't be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park in next to the Interstate and you do get the traffic noise. There are a few speed bumps. My jacks were not working and I requested a level site. The one assigned wasn't as level as a few others that I believe were available. The exit isn't clearly marked probably due to road construction. This is a typical KOA campground in that it was clean and well kept. The office lady was cordial but not overly friendly. The roads and sites were a bit tight but not a big problem. This campground is extremely close to I-30 and it is very noisy at all hours. There is massive construction all around on I-30 making it very difficult for us to find our way around, the GPS was useless. If you stay on I-30 it's okay, but venture off and you may spend allot of time trying to get back on track. I would not go back here again until the construction is completed, it is really a mess. This is no fault of the park of course. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is located close to the interstate, so it is easy to get to. The sites are wide with large pull-throughs. However, the road was dirt and full of holes. Cable was available, but we could not get very many channels. We were here for one night stopping over, but I would stay here for a longer time during decent weather. There are shaded sites with paved patio pads and 2 Kabins. There is a dog park and the staff is friendly. There is a small store where you can find many basics. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is right beside I-30. There is lots of construction and noise this trip. We stayed one night. It has clean and well maintained areas. We had lots of rain, and we had no mud. This campground is right off of the interstate. There is some road noise, but we could not hear anything over the air conditioner. The site was level. We could not get the wi-fi to work. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was nice, and there is a small playground. There is some construction around the entrance to the campground, and that could cause some problems with people trying to get in and out. This is a good spot to overnight. This park is in no way up to KOA standards. The sites are not level and are sloped, and the asphalt is worse than old 66. Water pressure was low and we could not wait to leave. We dropped the landing gear and jacks and pulled up and out early. The counter person was more interested in his bowl of stew than checking us in. There is no on site store to speak of. We won't be staying here again and have e-mailed KOA about it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I stayed here on Superbowl nite and could not get my TV to sync with the cable system. I was lucky that the antenna could pull in a fair signal so we could watch the game. I found out the next AM that the connector on the power post was totally shot and consequently no amount of trying to sync the TV to the cable would have worked. I would have given this facility a ten otherwise because the staff was kind enough to call me when I was about an hour from Texarkana and informed me that they wanted to close and go watch the game also. They told me which site was mine and how to get there. The road noise that night was non-existant because of the game so it was a quiet night. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The Staff is friendly and cooperative. Campground clean with picnic tables and porch swings. The big drawback is the location. Between the Interstate to the West and the rail line to the North there is continuous road and rail noise. It appears from the construction that the Interstate will be nearer since a ramp is being constructed between the campground and the Interstate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was the 2nd time we have stayed here as a stop over after dark. Both times we have been pleased with the ease of access and check in. The park is a fantastic place for a safe worry free overnight stay. Yes, it's almost on the highway but its closeness to the highway and ease of access is part of its appeal to us, especially after a long day of driving. We will stay here again. The only reason this park rated down was because of the nearby interstate highway noise. (We slept well with a fan on to cover up outside noise). This is a somewhat older park but very well maintained. Artificial plants on picnic tables. Nicely kept up grounds. Very friendly staff. Adequate area to walk dogs. Nice place. Lots of shade. Very clean and neat. Our site was perfectly level. WiFi was a little slow, typical interstate road noise could be heard. Staff was very friendly. They play classic movies on the porch every night and have an RV art gallery in the office. The staff made an effort to go above and beyond most "interstate campgrounds". Attractive campground; despite its location in front of a mobile home park, it's tidy & neat, and even has a little "nature trail" on the grounds. The RV-themed gift shop was fun. Owners friendly & helpful. The cabin was lovely (we had the 2-room one) with a nice patio. The "wash house" (combination bathrooms & laundry) very nice, not the standard KOA design, very clean; it's protected by security keypad, probably a good idea as the campground is located next to several hotels. Downsides: major road noise from I-40, and a major construction job going on (new ramp or overpass being built) right by the entrance. Extremely difficult access to the campground road from I-40 westbound - with a trailer we would never have made it. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

We have stayed here several times over the past 8 years. This is an extremely clean and well run park. Grounds are always clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly and we reserve the same site twice each year. Very nice sites to sit outside and visit with other campers. Picnic tables with flowers, porch type swings at some of the sites, and large attractive pool all add to the experience. Several nice restaurants close by as well as discount stores and fuel stops. Our first stay ever in a KOA. Had a nice long pull through site but turning into it was a challenge due to sharp turns on interior road. Stayed just one night on way to St. Louis. I-30 just beyond fence, so some road noise all the time. Clean and nice and wooded but way overpriced. Close to our favorite Texarkana restaurant: Cattleman's Steak House. Dog friendly. Very nice host who welcomed us out of a torrential downpour. They have a small RV-themed gift shop in the office. Porch-style swing by site. Full hookup. Trash can by every site. Gravel sites and roads. Road from Interstate to park was a little convoluted but wide enough for our coach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Extremely hard to access, poor signage from Interstate. Park is old, not very level in the sites we looked at and we had to unhook our tow car because of the size of the pull throughs. Really designed for the mobile home park behind the RV park. It is right on the Interstate, noisy due to traffic. We will not stay here again, I would look before I made a reservation here if you have a big rig, it may not fit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a typical KOA, expensive for what you get. If you are traveling from the south it is confusing to find since it sits on the state line. Follow signs to I-30/Dallas and you end up west of it, I-30/Little Rock and you are east of it. If you are in row A you have to do a trip through the park with some tight, though manageable turns, to come back to it. OK for an overnight stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is easy to find and easy to get into and out of. I have used it more than once for an overnight stop and each time the stay is satisfactory. It would be a good choice when staying in the area for some time. We had good service the last time. The breaker on our site kept going off and we used the after hours phone number. This park is OK for a nightly stopover, but I think the price is a little high for what you get here. I have paid similar price per night for a whole lot nicer place to stay. One positive for the park is that it is the best thing in the area. I stayed at another park in the area going through and this KOA is by far the best choice if you have to stay in Texarcana for a night or so. They have a good night/after hours check in box. The park is very near the interstate and an easy on and off. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent stopover on the TX side of Texarkana. Easy on and off. We had a "super site"
that was a huge long pullthrough with instant-on phone which was great. Half price for second night, so we elected to stay over another night to wait out a storm. Nice touches: flowers on the picnic tables, large runaround space for kids, swings for sitting and relaxing in spotted around the park. WiFi possible soon. About a mile from an excellent "Super Walmart" for shopping. Lovely spot, so will use it as a "regular" stopover from Austin (350 miles).Nice owners. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is primarily for full time residents. Sites are randomly spread around with no real site designations. The rest rooms were filthy - a sign said you had to remove your own used toilet paper - yuck. Wifi was not working and some of the electrical outlets were mounted on trees. It was quiet, but not one I would recommend. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wonderful Christian RV park. No drugs, no alcohol allowed. Plenty of huge oak shade trees, or option for full sun. Very accommodating. A few full timers, very friendly. Owner lives on the property. We loved this quiet, peaceful park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quiet park. Not a lot of amenities, but so pleasant that we decided to stay an extra night under the tall oaks. Wireless was excellent. The park hosts a bluegrass festival twice a year, but in December it is just a simple, out of the way place to stay. The friendly resident cat helped check us in, then walked me around the place, showing off his park. All in all, a delightful surprise. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a campground that hosts bluegrass music festivals in May and September, and doesn't seem to do much business otherwise, except for the occasional itinerant RVer passing through. No amenities except for bathrooms & showers. Just a nice, quiet, rural setting with plenty of shade. The city of Texarkana is nearby. The owners are friendly and hospitable. They honor Passport America, Happy Campers and Escapees discounts. Would definitely stay here again if passing through. And, for those who enjoy live bluegrass music by some of the top professionals in the genre, May or September might be a good time to stop by! We camped here in a Motorhome.
