The park is just off the freeway with easy access on and off. The host was most courteous and gave us a cable to connect the TV from his own RV. They have a wonderful grassy doggy run area for the pups to be let off the lead. The sites are shaded and level with picnic tables and concrete pads. Easy pull through sites. Great overnight spot to get away from a long days drive. I would and will stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great one nighter on the way somewhere else. It's a small, older park but very well kept with very level spots and pull throughs that are long enough for big rigs with toads. The managers are extremely nice and gave us advice for places to eat further down the road. Van Horn is very small and pretty limited so don't look for lots of restaurants. In late March the trees were just starting to get leaves, but when they do there will be nice shade. The Wi-Fi is slow and iffy but otherwise a very nice place. I gave it a 7 mainly because of the managers, good Texas folks. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A great campground. Only stayed one night and regretted not having more time to stay longer. Would definitely come back. This campground is clean! Not many TV channels, but the main stations, (ABC, NBC, CBS) were of excellent quality. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice enough RV Park. Some road construction makes getting on the right road from I-10 a little tough. Upon arrival the manager met us at the check-in point (it was dark at 7:00pm), helped us fill out the registration papers and then showed us to our site. Site was long pull through, level gravel, little narrow. Once again utilities are all bunched up too far from where they need to be. By the time I got the rig and the toad into the site (out of the road) I barely had enough cable to reach the shore power. Same way with the water hose. Forget the sewer hose, I was about 20 feet short. Setup was quick and easy. Received my Good Sam discount. Cable TV is available, 6 channels. Wi-Fi is available but unusable. Tried my ATT Air Card, nothing. I was in an area that could not receive data? If I didn’t need the internet, we would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Actually not a bad place for such a remote Texas location. The sites are long and not too close together. Each site has a small concrete pad and small wood table. The park is clean. Laundry: 3 washers, 4 dryers, $1.50 each. The park is located between the interstate, with a high volume of truck traffic, and the railroad, with frequent trains, it is very noisy. The park was offering a special: stay 2 nights and get the 3rd night free.. We would stay here again only for an overnight stop. Free Wi-Fi but very weak and slow. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here one night on our way to New Mexico. This campground is very clean and neat with mostly gravel roads and sites. Our site was level enough that we didn't have to unhook for our one night stay. There are shade trees and scrubs between most sites and plenty of room between sites for our slides and awning. The manager was pleasant and gracious. Our dogs loved the pet playground where they could run off-leash! We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park seems clean. They say they have cable but we only get 4 channels. The park is on main street and across the street is a train track. We only stayed one nite and the manager greeted us at 9pm when we arrived. He was a nice man. He also said this RV Park is for sale and doesn't know how much longer it will be open. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We pulled in here on a Saturday for a 2 night stay since we were having electrical problems with our motorhome. The owner was very nice and very helpful. He recommended a mechanic who came to our site right away and fixed our problem. The sites are all dirt, but are shaded and level. The owner had assigned us a site, but told us to take another site if we found one that was shadier. The park is nothing fancy, but makes a good overnight stop. It is quiet and easy access. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I've used this park for a number of years for a 1 night stop over when traveling through West Texas. The new owners seem to be trying to keep things up but probably will need to keep an eye on things. The sites are all gravel / sand with easy access pull throughs. Not a place for a long term stay but OK for the over night stop. Next time through I will probably try the KOA in town which seems to have more facilities. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

What a delight this park was! The owners bend over backwards to be sure you have everything you need. Our site was good sized, and the trees and bushes were appropriately trimmed back so they would not scratch the coach. The laundry and restrooms were very clean. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Definitely an overnight park only. The owner was very grumpy – but friendly. Men’s bathroom was awful – women’s OK. Very, very low flow shower heads. Our one main problem – there were only two RV’s on our row. One was ours and the other was right next to us. A person from a row behind us decided that he wanted to go to the bathrooms. So, he walked between our site and the camper next to us. He even had to turn sideways to get between our slide out and a tree. He did this as we were still setting up. Person had no concern for us and our privacy or spot. I guess we were just in his way. By the looks of this person’s RV (A Mexican National and several others all living in one small trailer), it would appear that they were long-term residents. I guess that gives them extra privileges. There were plenty of empty spaces on our other side or on the other side of the camper next to us. I guess us overnighters are just an inconvenience to the permanent people. Because of this, we laid awake all night and left very early as we could not sleep. Sites were level but all dirt. Be very careful leaving park as you will scrap your bottom – we watch several do this. I could only get the Wi-Fi to work at 3:00am. Not much in town and pricy for what they offer. Would NOT stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate is with Good Sam discount but the man that checked us in said they would not be a Good Sam park for much longer. The fenced in dog run is full of stickers so watch your pets. The "cable tv" was good but offered only four total channels. The wifi had a terrible signal and we could not get a connection. We stayed only one night so it was not a big deal. Not much within walking distance to this park. It works for a night but we would not want to spend much longer in Van Horn. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Yeah, a good place for a quick overnight at best. A little cramped making the corners tight. Sites were long enough to keep truck hooked to camper. WIFI acted up a little, so I switched to the phone/air card. Place was wedged between the interstate and a railroad, but the price for quick on/off access. CATV, only 4 channels, nothing to brag about. Yeah, only overnight. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This place is good for an overnight stop. For a destination stop don't bother. There is NOTHING in this town. The day we stopped here to wind blew so hard it was like sitting in a dust bowl. The sites are all pull-throughs with little concrete patios with little warped picnic tables but like I said for an overnight stop it's OK. We had no problems at all getting our satellite. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here numerous times over the years. New owners took over in April are are certainly making headway in improvements. WiFi was great and password is printed on brochure of park. We would like to mention previous complaints regarding those who drive through this (and any park) without first stopping at the "Stop" sign and checking with the office. As guests in parks we most definitely appreciate the security of stopping all who enter a park. We will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great place to over night or for a couple days. Easy access off I-10 and exit 138 in Van Horn, Texas. All pull thrus with FHU’s no need to unhook. Free WIFI just ask for network key when checking in. New owners April 10, 2007. Showers, Laundry very clean. Small activity center with tables, games and stage. Nice area for dog walk. Several eateries in walking distance if you don’t want to cook after a long drive or 9 hole Mountain View Golf Course within a mile of the RV park to stretch your legs. We have stayed here in the past and will return again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Only stopped for an overnight stay, but would definitely consider CG for longer stay. Owners ere attentive, but based on other reviews definitely concerned about the safety of the people in the campground. It is clear to stop at the office before entering and based on conversation with owner they will jump all over you for not doing so. We will definitely stop here again. "WHAT THE H*LL ARE YOU DOING HERE?" was the greeting we got from the owners of this park. We stopped in Van Horn due to an ice storm. The first exit we came to had a campground so we went to check it out. My husband stopped our 2005 motorhome by the entrance while I drove in the park in our Lexus SUV to check out the park to make sure it was a safe park for us and our 3 children before registering. We drove in and then on the way back out the owner and her daughter jumped out of nowhere wearing black in front of the SUV scaring us to death. After that disturbing greeting (above), the daughter continued to block us (it appeared she was packing a gun in her pocket)while her mother lectured us on driving past the registration office (the office was dark and closed). This is the Bates Motel of RV parks. Do not even slow down near this park. We ended up staying at the KOA. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good overnight stop on Interstate 10. We've stayed there twice. Gravel sites, with shade when the sun gets low. Everything worked fine, and registration people picked a site for us that would be easy to navigate with a 40-foot motorhome with toad. Spaces are long enough that you don't have to unhook the toad, and Chuy's Mexican restaurant is within walking distance. Play area in front had a basketball goal. It's located away from all the sites, so we could shoot guilt-free hoops because the noise wouldn't bother anybody. We camped here in a Motorhome.

On the contrary to some of the other posts, I would like to say how much my wife and I enjoyed this park. First off, there is a big sign saying, "Please check in at the office". It's very hard to miss that. My wife and I are retired and it was nice to stay at a campground that was concerned with our safety. We stayed for three nights and saw them stop one car. They didn't lock the gate or chase them down, it was more of a wave as they were exiting the grounds. Being in an unfamiliar town it was nice to see someone watching out for their customers. Overall the park was very clean, and it was nice to have some shade in Texas. All the workers were very nice and helpful. We got our dog washed by a nice young lady, and much to my wife's objection had a large piece of cake that the owner baked. (Yum!) We camped here in a Motorhome.

My husband & I wanted to preview this park for future; made the mistake of driving thru with our tow vehicle (without first stopping at the Front Office) & found 2 people blocking our exit; got a stern lecture on trespassing on private property; I had flashbacks of Deliverance but chatted to try to bring down the tension; left with her offer to come back for their "Special" and they're looking for Workampers, too! Sorry, Dear - not even. If we missed out on any other great things about this park, we'll never know because I was scared witless by the welcoming committee! We won't be back with our RV. Stayed with KOA! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stay away from this park. If you want to view the park beforehand I guess you need an invitation because they will stop you at the gate and harass you. There is no wireless internet, The signal is from a hotel next door and of course that is stealing. Limited room to get in and out. All and all a terrible park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Avoid this park! It is hazardous to your safety, and this has nothing to do with park facilities. We drove in with our car to see if it would be better than the park we were in, and without stopping at any time we turned around to leave. As we passed the office three people jumped IN FRONT OF MY CAR. I stopped and a woman stood in front, touching the front bumper, telling me if I moved she was going to "sue for assault". Another person closed and locked the front gate to further prevent us from getting out of the park. The Sheriff was called at my request. The campground filed an assault charge -- and I countered with "unlawful restraint". We were delayed in Van Horn for a court appearance, and finally told by a Sheriff's Deputy to go ahead and "just leave". Besides the aggravation, the safety issue was that if any of the three who jumped in front of my car had a weapon I would have run over them. That would have been a homicide investigation -- for just looking at a campground. Do not patronize this park! In fact, I will never stop in the county (Culberson) again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice for an overnight stay. Owner's wife cooks baked goods sold in cg store, and she's a good cook. Family run, and all very friendly. One of their kids escorted us to the site and made sure we could find everything. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have camped here twice (the first in 2002)and we enjoyed our stays, very friendly staff and clean park. If you drive by a large sign stating "Stop" without stopping and/or asking permission, you will suffer the consequences. We feel good that someone is watching traffic to protect us and our property. This campground is very run down. Manager told us that owner was trying to sell the campground and would not fix anything. There was a sewer smell coming from the bathrooms so we did not use them. Showers were $7! You are wedged between I-10 and an active railroad line on the other side. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good for an overnight stop. Easy access, pull through sites in the middle, back in sites along the fence for smaller RV's. Larger RV's with tows didn't seem to have a problem getting in/out. Office is only open between 5pm - 6pm, cash and checks only (no credit or debit) and exact amount was appreciated. We would stay here again en-route through Texas. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love this little park and have stayed here numerous times while driving through Texas. It's small, is an easy walking distance into Van Horn, you don't have to unhook, the electricity is reliable, the office is cordial and downright Western-friendly, and the price is fair. It's a great stop-over park and we will return again. It's a no-frills park but it serves you well. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Close to Guadalupe National Park. Very friendly staff. Bathrooms are okay, but need some TLC. WiFi is available from the hotel across the street and is free for anyone to use (thanks to the hotel they don't require you to be a guest to use the free WiFi)! We enjoyed our stay. There isn't much for shade or amenities. But for a short stop over it was nice. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

No longer Passport America or any other "camping club", but a satisfactory overnight park. Certainly better than the other alternative in town. In this park the manager was very pleasant. This is a Passport America Park. The regular rate is $18, PA rate is $9. The park is easy off/on I-10. Streets and sites are gravel & level. We spent 1 night in our 39 ft. motorhome and had no trouble navigating the streets & sites. We had a pull thru and didn't have to unhook the car. There were several other Snowbirds overnighting there also. The park has few amenities, but is quite adequate for a night or two. We did not notice the electric problems the previous reviewer reported. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is not much to look at but it's serviceable. We stayed three nights hoping for decent weather to get to Guadalupe National Park but did not get it. Very nice, helpful office staff. Sites level but a little cramped on our row even for our 30 ft class A. As park filled with overnighters each evening we noticed that the power suffered. Some train noise but not too troublesome. Nice clean, warm bathrooms and showers with plenty of hot water. Passport America park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground is basically a parking lot with Hookup posts. We took our dogs out for a walk and all over the parking lot area were small burrs. The burrs got into the dogs pads and into our shoes. We were a little leary about staying here due to the area. The town looks rundown. The manager was very helpful and pleasent. The washrooms were clean and large. It was a Passport America participant. We would NOT stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very difficult campground to review. It appears to be suffering low maintenance, as the sites and facilities not kept up, nor are they particularly attractive. Electrical connections on about half sites seem non-functional. There is no one in the office; one leaves the money in an envelope. On the other hand, there is plenty of room, and since there are few customers, one can have a spacious site. This is a Passport park (although not listed in the book) so the price is pretty good. We did not use the restrooms, so I have no idea what shape they were in. Bottom line --- the price was right and this was quieter and more pleasant than a Walmart parking lot. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is strictly an overnight stop in west Texas. You have to look around to find a sight where the electric works. Easy highway access and level large pull throughs, no need to unhitch trailer. Worth the $12.50 for 30amp for us. We stay here every time we pass through this area and need to stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

No one in attendance for this self registration park. Facilities were poorly kept and run down. Could find no toilet or shower facilities. Neither cable TV nor Wi-Fi worked, though the park advertised these features. Barely worth the half price fee through Passport America. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is under new management and they live in site #1. They are always available. You check yourself in when the office is not open. The Office is usually open from 4pm to 7pm, except on Sundays. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very comfortable pull-thru sites. Each one has a pine tree and a landscape boulder -- very cool! The mountain scenery is spectacular! We belong to Passport America and the rate is $12.50 for one night. We had everything we needed, including cable. This is our third time to stay here and we are always glad that it's here. Please don't bring your pets to this park during this time of the year. There are so many stickers it took us a lot of time to clean the trailer and all our rugs. Weeds galore. No wonder there were only 10 trailers in a 100 trailer unit. No antenna reception. The office was not open at 6pm, no one answers the phone, and the office was not open at 10am friday morning. $25 was to much for this park. There was NO water. Fortunally we had water. This place needs NEW management. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park gets a 2 rating because it has long pull-thrus and tall pine trees. We pulled in because of the wind storm while driving, so decided to stay 2 days and catch up on laundry. The office was closed so I put a check in the envelope and placed it in the slot. After setting up in the first site the electric went out. We used another power outlet on the next site. The electric amps were so low that I could only use the air conditioner. I couldn't use the electric hot water or the refrigerator. So much for doing laundry. I kept going back to the office to see if any body was working so I could get my money back for the second day. No one ever showed up for both days. The park is for sale. Hope someone with big money comes in and helps this place get back on it's feet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the very worst. We had to move over to the KOA in Van Horn to spend two more nights due to severe wind event in the area. The electricity was really funky on our 30 amp connection; I don't know if there are any 50 amp sites in this park. We couldn't find any. Don't plan to use your microwave or convection oven here. This park gives Passport America's already dubious reputation an even more tarnished reputation. I believe I will dump Passport America and join KOA's travel club. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We paid $12.50 with Passport America, otherwise it's $25.00. Yes, there are mountain views. That is why we gave it at least a rating of 2. This park has a For Sale sign in front. No one was in the office from 2pm through the next morning. The ad states rallies welcome with a large rec room. The rec room was filled with junk. It looked like a few garages were cleaned out & put in there. We could see it though a opening in the wall when using the bathrooms. The rec room was not accessible. The ladies room had a toilet broken, no toilet paper, no paper towels, the waste can was spilling out onto the floor, and was filthy. The shower rooms were dirty but at least had toilet paper. Above all, we had a 30A site and couldn't use anything but lights. The voltage was very low. We had to use our inverter to use the microwave. People pulling in were scurrying around trying to find 50Amp sites or at least usable 30Amp. Some sites had an "X" on the electric post but other that didn't had poor power. We don't know if the WiFi worked. We didn't try. One night was more than enough. This park could be a very pleasant place if it were kept up. Even though it's along the frontage road of I-10, the openness of the surroundings made the noise tolerable. We will not return to this park and we will let Passport America know of its condition. We stopped here for an overnight while traveling. The Electric was low and flucuated from below 108 to about 112 volts. We parked way in the back, and were happy for the quiet site. Many Pecan trees in this park. We picked many off the ground. They were tasty. We would stay here again but hope they fix up the power. Had supper at Chewey's restaurant in downtown Van Horn. Great food and pleasant surroundings. Fried Chicken to die for. John Madden's Hall of Fame. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good park for an over night stop. Passport America rate is $13.50 good for one night. Easy on/off from I-10. Sites are long enough to stay hooked-up. Trees between each site. Very large park so lots of space with wide interior roads. Far enough back from the highway to have only minimal noise and train seemed far in the distance. WiFi worked great but cable TV did not work at our site. Only a few 50 amp sites available. Our 30 amp electricity had low voltage. Many sites are closed due to electrical problems. Ground cover between sites contained small stickers so our dog could not walk around. Had to walk him on gravel road to grass along front of park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is fine for a one night overnighter. Very large pullthrough sites make entering and exiting a breeze. We checked in at 3:00 p.m. and left at 9:30 a.m. the next day and didn't see anyone in the office or any workkampers whatsoever. The $10 rate is Passport America. If no one is in the office when you check in, be sure to go to the front entrance and use the park layout plan to pick a site...not all are 50 amp, if that's needed, and some sites are Xed off because of faulty electric. We stopped at the KOA and they were nice when we ask for directions to Mt View RV Park. Their rate, by the way, was $28.50 less 5% for Good Sam Members. Mt View RV Park looks just as nice and my PassPort price was $10. Easy pull thru FHU sites, free WI-FI, cable, & 50 amp. I was in hog heaven. Wish this place was everywhere I go. Checked in and hooked up to electric and then discovered that my electric appliances were not operating at full charge, i.e. my tea kettle would not perk and microwave was not rotating at full speed. I spoke with the person who checked me in and she said there were no other complaints. I didn't know what to do, as in checking other sites those currents appeared low also. The owner then came over and with great hostility confronted me, never asking me for information, accusing me of causing trouble. He grabbed my hand and placed a 'wad' of money in it and told me to leave. He said there electric hookups were fine and asked what kind of 'five and dime' gadget was I using to check their system. I tried to explain to him about my appliances but he continued to not listen and yell at me. I have traveled for over a year in an RV and have never been treated with such abuse. I am a volunteer campground host in a national park and would never treat someone as I was treated. I moved next door to the Van Horn KOA and was treated wonderfully. MY RV electric system is working just fine here! Mtn. View obviously has wiring problems! And a very hostile and rude owner. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Used Passport America for the great price. Park is right off I-10 so expect some noise but the surrounding mountain beauty more than made up for the traffic! Extra large sites allowed my 58 foot rig to park and get in and out with no problems. Extra wide roads, nice small gravel surface and level sites made this a nice camp. We stayed here one night while traveling through. Very large level gravel sites -- large enough to leave our HDT, 38' 5th-wheel, and Jeep all hooked up together. Very wide streets and wide sites. Beautiful desert setting. Very clean and well maintained. Easy to get in any of the entrances (there are at least two), and easy to get into big diagonal sites. Although WiFi is advertised, we were unable to get anything but a very weak signal. I would have liked to stay longer, but we had a deadline to be in Arizona. RV Park has just re-opened with new owner. Free WiFi. Very easy access off I10. Some freeway and train noise. Had a long talk with new owner. Seems he will be doing a lot of upgrades. An interesting feature is that he offers horse corrals for travelers with horses/ Passport & Happy Camper Park. Cost is $10. Electricity was good, but low water pressure. Our site was level, dirt with some grass and long enough to pull through without disconnecting our toad. It rained all night making it very muddy the next morning. The only good thing I can say about this campground is that it offers full 50 amp hookups, including cable and Wi-Fi. Beyond that it is old and nothing to look forward to. It is simply a large field covered in gravel with hookups. If there are shaded sites, I didn't see them. Like most KOA campgrounds, they think there is something special about their park and they can charge more. I think $35 for this location is outrageous. Problem is, if you find yourself here and need to spend the night there just aren't many better choices. I will plan future trips to bypass this location. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a good RV park for an overnight stay when traveling east or west on I-10 in West Texas. While there are several other options in Van Horn, this appears to be one of the better ones and there are few other choices other than the Van Horn area in this region. The check in was friendly and efficient. The grounds are in good condition. There was a very strong wind when we arrived and it lasted all night, but that certainly not be blamed on the RV park. We had breakfast at the on-site cafe. That was very handy and the food was good. We would return if travel arrangements required another stay in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The sites are the usual KOA set up. They are all gravel, but level. Mostly over nighters on their way east or west on I-10. Not as noisy as other near the Interstate KOAs, even though the railroad is nearby. I think the trains are going by so fast that you don't get much rumble. The big plus, is the staff and the cafe. Really nice people and the food is great even if at twice the price. Would stay again when driving the long trip between San Antonio area and El Paso. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The staff was very nice, and the services were good, but this is still just a plain, unadorned KOA. It met our needs very well, but I can’t give it many points for appearance. It wasn’t trashy—just not very attractive. We understand this is West Texas, but a little desert landscaping would improve it quite a bit. (It looked much prettier in its website photos when the trees and grass were green.) The roads and sites are gravel. There is a table, but no grill. The utilities were fine; the cable was good with lots of channels; the Wi-Fi was strong. We were only here for an overnight so there were some amenities that we did not see or use. The price seemed a little high, but we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here on our way to Arizona, we didn't even unhook from the truck. From our short visit we can say that their cable and Wi-Fi were very good. Sites were easy to get in & out of and ample long. Our rig, including the truck, is just under 60'. We had no power issues, seemed to get the correct amount of power from the pole. We filled our propane bottles here and their rates were pretty reasonable: $24 for 30lb bottle. I honestly felt $35 for just an overnight stay was a bit high but you don't get many options out in the middle of now where. Not many more choices past Van Horn until you get to El Paso. The first time we stopped overnight, it had snowed the day before and had melted and their roads and sites were a mess of red clay and mud. It was obvious they had a drainage issue. Management was very friendly and apologized for the mess. On our return trip, weather was much better and water was no longer an issue. Large sites big enough to comfortably get into with a 40 foot 5th wheel and truck and not have to disconnect. Nice distance between neighbors. Owner and staff very friendly. We stayed here one night traveling from Dallas to Arizona. It is a nice park for a short stay. The managers are very nice and helpful. The sites are pretty much sand with some grass in between. Great place for an overnight. Stayed here while en-route from San Antonio to San Diego. Neat, clean faculty. Gravel drives and gravel pull-throughs. Modern, neat, clean hookups. Close enough to the freeway to be convenient - far enough to avoid noise. Other reviewers have mentioned the cafe - apparently the owner's wife is the only cook and they were out of town when I stopped. Call ahead to confirm if you want dinner! Stayed here one night enroute to NM. Cabin was very adequate except for mattresses which had to be double stacked for comfort. Dog slept on floor, no problems. Small cafe on-site that serves excellent breakfast. Bath house was older, but clean and functional. Campground was far enough from Interstate so that noise was not a problem. We stayed overnight on our way to El Paso with friends. We had a very quiet night rest. There was lots of room to walk our pets. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My friend had problems retracting his levelers. One of the staff worked with him for an hour to diagnose the problem and retract the levelers. A quiet park on the southeast side of Van Horn. Sites are flat with grass and a shade tree; ours also had an ocotillo in bloom. The wi-fi was slow, but the cable worked fine. We were very pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a park in Van Horn. The staff was exceptional and offered to guide you to your site if needed. The sites were very level gravel and we noticed that the staff was placing people in every other site so as not to be right next to one another....which was very nice when they were not completely full. The cable tv and wireless internet worked very well, and we also discovered a very nice small restaurant right on the premises. We had a very good dinner from that restaurant for our overnight stay, and it was very good! We were very pleased with this park and would highly recommend it to all. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice for a KOA. Off the highway so it was quiet. Operators were so nice, helpful and friendly. There is zero shade, so for us, we would not want to be here in the hot weather. As always, compared to so many other parks, KOA is expensive from our point of view. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites were level. We were able to stay hooked up to our fifth wheel. But, we weren't able to walk outside without walking on stickers. Very difficult for our dog to go outside. Had to pick her up and carry her to a safe patch of grass. Not sure if we would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We got in late but had no trouble getting to a site. The sites are level and spacious; the restrooms and showers clean and secure. The cafe offered a really good breakfast for a reasonable price. This was our first night on our first trip in our motorhome and a great way to start the trip. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is only a one night stopover for us. We always stop here when in Van Horn. The management is super. They have a small cafe at the campground with excellent meals. They will even deliver to your rv site. Reasonably priced as well.The office has gifts,food items and rv items to purchase. There is a computer with high speed and/or wifi, and they will let you check your email or surf the web, as long as you don't abuse the use. We really enjoy our stay at this KOA. Peaceful and quiet. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice KOA, used it as an overnight stop. The small cafe is nice for a great quick dinner after being on the road. Great view of the mountains and check out the ostrich in the fence at the back right of the park. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good park with great management ready to assist you in any way. The 50 amp service showed a little low in voltage on our gauge but still adequate. Everything else is real nice for being in a real dismal place on a real dismal super windy day. We waited out the wind event for two nights. Chuey's Restaurant is a real good one in town; check it out. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is very nice for an overnight stay. Sites are level and plenty of space between sites. The management provides a printed "Welcome" sheet which states that they are on the edge of the desert and sometimes the cable tv works and sometimes it doesn't and sometimes the Wi-Fi works and sometimes it does not. Well true to their statement, the cable system provided poor reception on some channels and good reception on others. The Wi-Fi came in and then was lost. I guess that is ok because we are warned in advance????? I find it an odd way to do business, after all are they not paying for a service that they are not receiving and then passing that cost along to their customers? If you are interested in cable tv or Wi-Fi this is probably not the place to choose for your stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for a quick one night stop during cross-country trip. site was gravel surrounded by grass and was quite level, and long enough to stay hitched with 28' TT. Had an end pull-through which had a wonderful mountain view to the east. Far enough off I-10 that there was no road noise. Facilities at this exit to gas up, etc. Very small pool which we did not use, and mini-golf holes and playground. Office/store is open in morning, closed mid-day and re-opens from 3-7 pm. Check-in was friendly and efficient. would not hesitate to stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We just stopped for the night. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were dated, but OK. One (of 3) shower stalls was out of service in the men's room. The view of the mountains at sunset was a nice treat. Furthermore, the location was about a mile off the interstate, which kept the noise to a minimum. Our only problem was an encounter with a fire ants soon after we set up. Having dealt with these little monsters when I lived in the South, I immediately un-hooked and requested another site. The management was most helpful and we relocated to a bug-free site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a good overnight stop while driving through Texas on I-10. 50 amp, WIFI, and pull throughs make it a good stop for a big rig. There is a pool and a playground, but this is also in a very dry climate where dust blows frequently. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there is a little cafe on the premises with good basic food, such as hamburgers and chicken fingers. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed overnight on our way to Missouri. Although I had called several days earlier to get a reservation, no one returned my call. On the up side when I showed up there were plenty of spots open and the staff was very friendly. The rate reflects my KOA Value card. Sites were wide enough for our 39' with slides and although there wasn't much in the line of vegetation it made a perfectly good spot for an over night stay. I would stay here again anytime we are in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I have stayed here two or three times a year since 2001. The owner is retired military from FT Bliss. I have watched him work this place over for 5 years. I have always loved the area and plan on staying at this park for a couple of months next year after I get straight with the VA. The place is always clean. The owner is always doing something. He was so proud when the wireless was put in. The cable sometimes is bad. But, that's life in the desert. No good grounds equal no good TV. Nice little camp store and the cafe serves some pretty good food. I love it when they bring dinner to your trailer. All in all, I cannot recommend this place any higher. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was a "lifesaver" park, we had just left San Antonio and had to go to Tucson, but that was not feasible in one day. Van Horn was a pleasant spot to stop for one night. We camp at this park twice a year in June and August on our way to and from California. The owner is so helpful and friendly and the park is maintained to perfection. We esp. like the clean pool and watching the many rabbits which explore the area. The Wi-Fi works perfectly too. We were sorry the KOA kitchen was closed for the end of the summer as the meals in the past have been delicious. Looking forward to our stops next summer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park appeared to be clean and well laid-out, but we never got to explore it as it was infested with blood-hungry mosquitos. We got one jack down before our skin lit on fire and we dove for the repellent. We managed to get power and water hooked up (forget about sewer) and then dove into the trailer, where we spent the rest of the night taking care of indoor duties and swatting vampires. We dearly wanted to shower off the repellent, but didn't dare. It was a very itchy and uncomfortable night, and the morning departure was only slightly less uncomfortable. If the owner would spray his campground my rating would surely have been a lot higher. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

He went above & beyond - even to the point of getting his computer guy from town to help me get my PC internet settings straightened out. If we have the chance, we'll be by again. I gave this park a 10, because everything advertised WORKED and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Owner is considering putting in a hot tub, as the pool was clean and cool. The wifi was excellent considering I was put in a corner supersite that had a fire ring and nice picnic table. There is little noise that you can hear outside, but inside the RV, we didn't hear anything. I would definitely stay here again. An oasis in the desert. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was ok. It was definitely away from the road and railroad tracks, so the noise was down. However, it was really close to the city dump or sewage plant. Maybe the wind was just blowing in the wrong direction, but my wife and I couldn't sit outside the night we stayed. I might stay again...but would have to bring a nose plug. Convenient to I-10, but very little road or train noise. Helpful, friendly staff at check-in. Long, level, wide pull-throughs, and wide interior roads; can stay hooked-up for an easy morning exit. Good voltage, and water pressure; and FREE, fast WIFI. Good stopping point between middle Texas and points West. A little more expensive than other campgrounds in town, however, to us, a much better choice and value. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great park with easy 1-10 access. Owners are very helpful, friendly, and seem to really care about their park. They have set up free wi-fi and also have modem in office. Nice park for a short stay. We used it for an overnighter between Dallas and Tucson. Park is easy to locate about 3/4 mile from I-10 but no traffic noise was noticable. Usual KOA gravel drive thru sites made for easy set up and exit the next day. Several truck stops nearby to tank up for you next leg. Not much to do in this area but I recommend it for en route overnighters. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I came mainly for the free WiFi internet, which did function flawlessly. After responding during registration that I didn't have a KOA value card, the owner volunteered that they also accept other discounts such as Good Sam. I felt the owners were as interested in my satisfaction as they were in collecting my fee -- a trait rarely seen in my 14-plus years of full-timing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were pleasantly surprised at the accommodations at this campground. We chose it because it was midway between two other stops and they had free WiFi. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though they are a KOA park they still honored the Good Sam discount. It happened to be my wife’s birthday so the catfish and shrimp dinners were a unexpected treat. The WiFi worked fine as long as I went outside the rig to get an unobstructed view of their antenna. I could not get a signal from inside the rig, but what the heck, it was free. We highly recommend this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Pulled in for an overnight stop from West Coast to Houston. Very nice cafe on-site with great fried shrimp dinner and all the trimmings delivered to our coach. After a long drive from Yuma in one day the delicious food was a wonderful surprise!! Quiet park, about 1/4 mile south of I-10, enough to dull the freeway noise. It was the dead of winter, so the trees had no leaves, but appear to be fairly large. Spaces are level prepared gravel, nicely spaced, and the one we had was long enough to accommodate 38'coach and vehicle. Roads adequate to manuever rig. Definitely would stay here again on east / west trip! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent campground in the middle of nowhere. We decided to stop while traveling from
Houston to El Paso and we are glad we did. Real friendly folks, free wireless internet covers the park. The site we were in was over 120 feet long. The swimming pool was closed for the winter. They served dinner and breakfast. Thumbs up! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

You know, this place is way out in the middle of nowhere! If you need an overnight stop
in West Texas, it's pretty good, though. Very friendly staff. Lots of room in this park for "Big Rigs." Lots of room! Gravel sites and roads. Trees not a problem. Opted not to take Hwy 54 up to Carlsbad. Couldn't get good info on road so called fire dept. Contruction and mud from rains, so backtracked to Pecos (90 mi.) to take 285 north to Carlsbad (great road!). I'll give it a solid "8". Not a bad park. Stayed here in Oct. '04 with 42' motor home with toad. We camped here in a Motorhome.
