Many people would give this park less than a 7 however, I was very happy here. We have a 43 foot motor home and granted the sites on the hill top were too small for our rig, I would not have been happy there at all. In fact we were, then we asked to move to a site on the bottom of the hill. I am so glad it was open. Site number 1 was large, flat, on the end, and shaded, but we got our satellite to work. Site 1 faced the sewer dump station, but that got very little use and was not a problem in any way. I think sites 2, 3 and 4 would have been ok also. It did only have 30 amps and it was real hot out (93 degrees), so we had to rotate our AC's and used the diesel hot water instead of electric, but we were close to a large pool in which I loved. It is located just outside of the Shenandoah Park which is real nice, since that is what we were here for. The people are friendly. We signed in for 2 nights but wound up staying 4 nights. The park was a KOA, it is becoming a little run down, but for me it was just fine: due to our site and the pool. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Accommodating owner. Lovely, well maintained campground. The sites were shaded, fairly level, and descent size. There were no seasonal residents. It also had a store with limited supplies. This campground was very close to the northern entry to the Skyline Dr. as was the town of Front Royal. Washington DC was 70 miles away. Only drawback was campground allowed non-campers use of pool for a fee. Slow time of year. Beware if you use map quest directions they are confusing. Stay on 340s as it turns into Stonewall Jackson Hwy. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This RV park is nothing more than a heaven for old retired RV's that need to be put in a place to be recycle. Most all of the junk there belongs to homesteaders. A lot of the trailers are unlicensed or their inspections are expired. This place is an eye sore. There was no cable TV and Wi-Fi (that you pay for)as it was not working most of the time. I will say security personnel are very helpful and friendly. I doubt if I will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Warning: Read all reviews. I will add to what was not stated. First a very narrow rough dirt road entrance in a bad spot in the highway. The 82 year old owner was rude and greedy. Wanted extra $3.00 For the towed. Once she found out our holding tanks were near full she refused to let us use her dump station. Said she had just had her septic pumped and didn't want it filled up again. Not to mention a strong odor of alcohol as we conversed. She did agree to give us a refund. We would not recommend this park to anyone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

So much potential...shaded sites, quiet stream. And then there was the nasty lady who runs the place and the trashy appearance of the campground itself. When we arrived there was one other camper already there. We were placed right next to them - no option for moving to a more secluded site. Owner/host never got out of her chair when we arrived. Never a friendly wave or 'hello'. Just give me your money - park over there. Campsite wasn't very level, filled with trash and cigarette butts. There was even a sign at the office encouraging campers to burn trash in the campfire. A bit of traffic noise but the deal breaker was the trash and host. We won't be back. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

My wife and I have a small class C. We decided to stay here based on the review and the Web site. When we arrived we noticed garbage and leftover food all over a table outside the office, There was so much junk we had to walk around the patio to get to the office. On our way to the office an older lady came out of a trailer beside the office. We asked for a full hookup. She quoted $27 for a mostly grass pad. Then stated that it was a backin. I said ok, we will unhook the towed. She said in that case it would be an extra $3. I said no thanks and left. On our way out we looked at the sites. We are glad we passed this one by. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here as part of our Coast to Coast membership. Some of the sites are along the Shenandoah River, but we stayed up on a hill in Section C. The site felt a little narrow, and if someone had been in the next site we would not have been able to put out the awnings, but opening the slides was no problem. The campground is quiet, though it seemed that several "seasonal" campers near us left for work very early in the morning. Although they don't have cable TV (and antenna channels were quite limited) they do have a club house with 2 satellite TVs available. The WiFi access is deceptive -- you can purchase a code for $3.00 per day, or $5.00 for 3 days, but the service was pretty slow and uneven, bumping us off time after time. All things considered we were quite comfortable here, the campground is very close to the north entrance to the Skyline Drive, and we would stay here again. We camped here in a fifth wheel. Narrow unlevel sites. Power OK at about 110 volts. Nice pools, lakes are green ponds. Many sites ars occupied by seasonals. At the Passport America rate listed it is a acceptable deal. However $42 a night would be a deal breaker. No where, worth that amount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here on Coast-to-Coast points. Paved interior roads with gate-guard security. 50 amp, cable TV, and shade trees are not available in the short term areas. Grass sites are pull-through and fairly level, although not very wide. We had no one in the site on our curb side, so had plenty of room. (Although our site was pull through, we had to back out due to a large motorhome that had set up so far back in his space that he blocked the pull-out road. I guess his kids needed the space in front of his coach for a playground.) We will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Maybe just the first 6 sites have 50amp service. The rest are 30amp with some sewer hookups. All have water and all back up on a bank on the Shenandoah River. There is a boat ramp and apparently deep water with a little current that had me concerned about launching a kayak. We had to use 2x6's under the front tires to level and the soft ground absorbed about half of the boards under the jacks of our diesel pusher. The WiFi was strong and fairly fast. About half the sites seem to be seasonal. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is off Rt. 66, and there are signs on the highway and off to direct you. We've stayed here twice for a night. It is basically a large grassy area with a line of sites on the Shenandoah River and treed. There is a boat ramp and fishing in the river. Very peaceful and clean. Picnic tables and fire rings. You pick your spot and the owner comes around in the AM for payment. Seem to be some seasonals, but lots of sites available. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

RPI rate with 50AMP. This campground is better than the previous reviews indicate but with one problem I would call major. The well water is not good. We did not get sick but there is definitely a problem. My in line filter was useless after 4 days connected to the CG system. The water ran dark brown off and on but the last day was the worst. Several campers complained to the office and they didn't seem to care. The sites are neat, mostly level, gravel. The pool and spa, clubhouse and laundry room and restrooms were clean and tidy. We were greeted by very friendly folks when we first arrived but they had no answer for the water situation. The sewage treatment facility is deep in the CG and there were several times during my stay the smell was pretty bad. This is a good place to start from if one is visiting the Shenandoah National Park. The north entrance and beginning of Skyline Drive is minutes away from the CG. Wi-Fi is private and costs $3 per day to access. Clearwire 3G worked in the CG so we managed. I'm fearful of the water situation so probably won't return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

For Memorial Day weekend, we found it very disappointing that the sites were not maintained. Overgrown weeds in the rv sites, tent area needed mowing, which they mowed on Monday, when the majority of RVers were packing up to leave. Our neighbor who is a full time complained on Saturday so his area plus one other site was mowed on Sat. Didn't use the restrooms, but did use the laundry and it was not kept up very well; the pool's water looked "green" and cloudy. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
