The state park itself is absolutely beautiful and has wonderful trails and visitor sites describing both the flora/fauna and the history of the area. We found the campground lacking. While the campground is quite pretty and sites are well separated by shrubbery, the roads are narrow and rutted and are overgrown by shrubbery in many places. We were hit by trees on our roof FIVE times between campsites C1 and C7. Leveling is also an issue, very few of the sites are level - some are as much as a foot out of level from front to back. The state park has WiFi, but you need to be within a few feet of the store for it to work. We were pleased to see that there were laundry facilities - that is until we saw them. The laundry room was really dirty, expensive ($2 for a wash and $2 for a dry) and full of old light fixtures and a pane of glass just sitting on the floor. We complained to park management and absolutely nothing was done during the week we were there. We also complained about the overgrown shrubbery and the same nothing was done. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed two nights. The campground is barely accessible to big rigs. The corners are very tight if you are towing. There were no pull-thru sites for our class A motorhome and the back-ins are small. No place to un-hook except the driveway. Beautiful views from the beach of the anchored cargo ships. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our favorite park in Virginia. We always stay in the SuperSite area - large, long concrete pull throughs - beautifully landscaped. This is a large, extremely popular campground. Four nice pools, two camp stores, friendly staff, well maintained. They also have a private parking lot one block off the boardwalk in Virginia Beach. We stay here two or three times a year. The only drawback is the jet noise from nearby Oceana Naval Air Station, but as a retired military, I appreciate the "sound of freedom". We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects Good Sam discount. This was not what we expected as a resort. Stayed here one year ago in the deluxe area and were very pleased. What a change! Maintenance of the grounds is average (mostly sticker grass). Utilities (for the price) does not include cable. Water pressure is terrible. You need to check it before going into the shower to make sure you have enough to rinse the soap. At times the water just dribbles from the faucet. Security and enforcement of the park rules are non-existent. Golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, cars, trucks, group games, etc. all blocked the park roads. There was no respect regarding driving age. Due to the holiday, celebrations continued well into the wee hours -- no respect of quiet hours and no enforcement from the staff. The next trip we will probably go to another park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Let me start by stating that you are camping directly under the flight path for the Navy Air Base. Jets will be flying over at all hours and are very low on approach. We camped in the off season so keep in mind it wasn't very busy. The campground is large. Most restroom and shower houses have been updated and are really nice. Roads are all paved and for the veteran camper are easy to get around on. If your a greenhorn you may feel uneasy. A lot of pull thru sites with full hookups although a lot don't have cable. Antenna reception isn't bad. Internet is here but you have to pay extra for it. The Super Sites are really nice but the rate is high. I am sure that in season this campground is very busy with not many to choose from in the area. It is close to the beach and has a lot of pools and activities in season. Over all, this is a nice campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at this resort with friends that are members. Great setting with lots of on water sites. Staff rating has to be a 10. They were very friendly and helpful the entire stay. All sites were well maintained, level, and sufficient in size. Bath houses were dated but kept up clean and painted. They have 3 pools on site. Plenty of fishing and wild animal sightings. Great place and atmosphere for everyone. We highly recommend this resort and will return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The sites are level with concrete pad and grassy between them. Streets are paved. Electric and sewer were good, but the water wasn't clean. Restrooms are nice and clean. Wi-Fi was very good. Verizon signal was good. Major downside is during heavey rain (and after) major puddling of water in street and between sites. We also had wind induced flooding when the wind backed the water up into the campground. Also the road to get to the campground is super narrow with no shoulder but rather from edge of payment straight into a ditch. Multiple vehicles went in the ditch during our two week stay. Rate is Coast to Coast with the $5 surcharge they now charge. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very helpful staff. I had lots of questions and they had all the answers. The park is close to shopping and the beach. I found the sites to very level and some have shade. Overall the park is very clean, quiet and well maintained. The only reason I did not rate it a 10 was lacked cable. I highly recommend this park and will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love the location of this park, but it leaves a lot to be desired for safety and family atmosphere. No shortage of Rebel flags, drunks, loud music, crazy driving, golf carts everywhere. The roads are un-paved (very dusty), water hook ups are underground and are very dangerous (trip hazard) and hard to hook up and turn on. The beach was nice. Bath houses were serviced regularly but still dirty, and no soap in dispensers the entire stay. Staff was not helpful. We reserved a site well in advance and was changed upon arrival. We do not plan on visiting this campground again and would not recommend this campground to anyone. Hopefully they will improve this park as it does have a lot of potential. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We spent 4 nights here last week. Although facilities were fine it was very difficult to leave the site as the turns are much too tight for a 42 foot motorhome. It was also impossible to be outside due to the number of mosquitos. Owners need to pave, or stone the sites due to dirt and mud, and create better site egress for larger coaches. I would not go back without these improvements. Lack of signs on roads make it easy to pass by it and you need to go 8 to 10 miles to turn around. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Spent four nights here with the wife and three boys. The rental boats are over priced but the campsites were huge compared to KOA and kids had a blast the whole time. The entire park lost water and power the first night...not sure why but only for three hours. Mosquito's...lots!!! Private beach was nice but crowded. Great bathrooms and showers. The sites are not paved, or perfectly level and the water supply is in the ground not on a post. Great pool but also crowded. Would definitely go again but not on a holiday weekend. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The spot we had was great. It was right on a sliver of a bay. It was peaceful and we had our own dock to sit on. The beach is within walking distance. Our dog loved it. The sites are all paved and level. Our site was large but difficult to get in to due to a pole in the way. There are a lot of permanent residents but most sites are well kept up. It is a bit of a distance to Virginia Beach itself and shopping but if you like serenity and peace, you will like it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We liked this park for the low key and off the mainstream VA Beach tourism. The beach is across the street and was practically empty. Kids had a great time and the DW enjoyed the waterfront site. The staff was very pleasant and helpful! I believe we have found our new place to park in the Hampton Roads area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our fourth trip to this resort and our longest stay. We have never been disappointed in the cleanliness of the Park and the friendliness of the folks who full time and the other campers. Its location is ideal for short trips to the beach (crowded for Memorial Weekend) and fishing in the Back Bay. Not much to choose from in the way of restaurants and shops, but Sandbridge is a fairly small community. We did eat at The Baja, which is right next door. Good food, but you might wait a while for food and a table. For general shopping, we went to Red Mill, about 20 minutes away. Concrete pads make set up quick and neat while the waterfront sites make for an appealing back drop. We spent a lot of time at the #2 pool which was just 2 sites away. All in all, another great stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

No real complaints about this park. It was adequate and convenient to the beach and shopping. I think it was a bit overpriced for the off-season (pools closed, not anything going on). The jet noise from Oceana Naval Station could be bad at times, but that's Virginia Beach. It didn't bother me, because I sincerely love the sound. Electricity was a little low but not a real problem. Water pressure OK. Reasonably quiet at night, except on weekends when there's a little more party atmosphere. Some noise from the street. Sites adequately sized and reasonably level. People in the office were very nice and helpful. Bathrooms clean. Didn't use the laundry, so can't report on that. Wi-fi OK, cable OK. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The sites at this campground are small and there is little privacy. Trees provide shade at some of the sites, but many of the sites are wide open. Our site had full hookups (water, electric, sewer, and cable). The water pressure seemed low compared to other campgrounds at which we have stayed and the water had a brown tint to it, but was otherwise fine. The cable channel lineup was limited. The stone surface at many sites appeared as if it could use replenishing as water tended to pond and drainage was fairly poor. The campground has many amenities, including two very nice pools (one with water slides), bouncing pillow, playgrounds, half basketball court, horseshoe pits, bocce ball, and 9 hole mini golf in urgent need of repair. Bus service to area attractions is also available. The campground is minutes away from many attractions, including the Virginia aquarium, Virginia Beach boardwalk and ocean front, Ocean Breeze water park, go kart tracks, and mini golf. The jets from Oceana NAS were noticeable but easily tolerable. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a 27' rig. The park and the area has lots to do for kids and families. The laundry is the largest I've seen in a campground. $1.75 for washers and dryers. The bathrooms/showers were clean, but only 2 per building (multiple buildings) which I thought was too few for the number of sites in the park. We used the Dog Park which is nice. The sites were level and spacious, but some can get muddy when it rains. There is a problem with drainage in some sites. Both open and shaded sites. The staff is attentive, but when we were here, the grass needed mowing in some sites and there was trash in some of the fire pits. The park is convenient to the Boardwalk, beach, grocery store, and other sights in the area via the trolley, bikes, or car. The jets flying overhead were not an issue. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
