Great park. Front area has hook up site. In the back are a lot of primitave sites. Most of the sites have trees/brush to screen your from neighbors. Staff is very firendly and accomidating. Will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Another update to my prior two reviews. First note, is even though the park shows as 'Burlington', it resides in the city of Bay View, which is 1/2 way between Burlington and Anacortes (5.4 & 6.1 miles from each per my GPS). As mentioned before, the dump site is still out of commission, but a quick drive east on 'Josh Wilson Road' delivers you almost to Camping Worlds doorstep (thanks to a pair of recently completed round-a-bouts off I-5 and Old Highway 99). Our 35 foot rig was towing our Jeep Liberty and maneuvering was easy - at the posted 15 MPH... Now, back to the park. That stimulus money came in handy. The Rangers at BVSP have added 50-amp service to space 10 (and maybe others) and they have cleared out the undergrowth that was encroaching on many of the sites. All the sites have been re-graveled and are wider and more level than before. This is a big benefit, since my wife was able to maneuver our rig into position by herself (something she was concerned about doing). Unfortunately, recent budget issues will require all WA State Parks to be 'self-sufficient' in 2012, so rates will probably climb. There is also a plan to begin charging a $10 per day, or $30 per year park pass. This should not affect registered campers, but it may affect guests. Regarding the big rigs, the best sites for longer rigs (35-39') are 3-10, but now 26-29 can handle rigs up to 36' (and maybe longer) thanks to the recent improvements, but you may need to park your towed in the overflow. Bathrooms were clean and in good repair with plenty of hot water. Also, Sprint cell customers will find 5 bars, but 4G on Clear is just out of reach, being available in both Burlington and Anacortes. Verizon & T-Mo were the same as before. I do not have a Dish, but often see both fixed & portable dishes up, pointing to the south like hungry chicks waiting for breakfast... Again, make sure you have a reservation before coming here. During 1st come, 1st serve you will often find many small campers or Vanagons parked in the sites for 32ft+ rigs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Update from my review of last year. Thanks to some Stimulus money, the Lower Loop (by the entrance) now has 50 amp at all 9 sites. I'm not sure if they will add it to the rest of the utility sites, which already have 30 amp, but it would be a big plus since those sites were built with three sites on one of the parks power circuits (so if your neighbors are running two ACs, two TVs, and the hair dryer, you could end up with an under-voltage issue). There are still no dump sites at the park (and only the host has a sewer hookup) due to the failed septic system. You can go to dumps nearby (Camping World is only 10 miles away & it's free there), but if you take your showers in the baths instead of your coach, you can stretch your dumps out instead of daily. If you have a 40 ft plus rig, there really are only three sites that would handle your bus... but if you can afford something that big, you probably have a membership somewhere, so just make sure you have a reservation before coming here. During 1st come, 1st serve you will often find small campers or Vanagons parked in the sites for 32ft+ rigs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A great WA State Park! This is our nearest park, so we have stayed here a dozen times since March 2009. The state website has correct data on the sites dimensions, and the brush between most sites gives plenty of privacy without being overgrown. Our 35' Class A navigates the park with ease, but our automatic awning hits branches in a few spaces. Technology: The parks utility sites are in two sections (1-9 & 10-30) while the rest are dry sites. 1-9 have water all year but the rest are shut off November thru late March. TV reception (all Digital) is best in spaces 1-9, but they degrade in the upper loop and breakup everytime a plane flies overhead. There is plenty of space to put the dish up. Verizon Wireless & TMobile have 5 bars and I'd expect Sprint & AT&T are similar. Staff & Site Notes: Garbage & recycles are in the upper loop and two dumpsters by the entrance. My wife & daughter prefer the camp showers instead of our RV's. They are always clean and had plenty of hot water, just stand back when they restart because the are cold for the first few seconds. Must See: I've never needed bug repellent here, despite the huge mud flats in Padilla Bay. It is really fascinating to watch the tide go out and then see miles of bay bottom. It is also a good place to fly a kite. Kids bring their bikes, despite the lack of trails on property, but there are trails nearby to ride (I'll try them soon). The playfield in the center of the upper loop is always an very active place, as long as there hasn't been a lot of recent rain. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Overall this is a great park. Everything is very clean and well maintained. A majority of the sites are very private, with thick brush between eash site. There are new and older bathrooms, but even the older ones are clean and in good shape. First state part in WA we've attended that the hotwater meter actually seems to work. The beach offers great exploring, especially when the low tide empties the entire bay. Read the map very carefully before making a reservation. The site depths vary and some are very hard to access. The loop for sites 10-30 is one lane with an open grass field in the middle. The loop for sites 39-76 is very narrow and snakes through the park. I wouldn't recommend it with anything larger than a small trailer. Negatives for the park are very few and minor. It would be nice to have a play ground for the kids and sewer hook-ups. Many sites could use some grading as well, but none are very bad. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This is a really pretty state park. It's right along side Padilla Bay. There are some larger spots near the front of the park with water views, but we chose spot number 23 across from a large field (great place for the kids to play). The spots were a little narrow and our trailer and truck just fit the length of the site. Our site was very private and had water and 30 amp service. The reservation service shows photos of most of the campsites, so you can get a good idea of what you are reserving. When we were there, all of the serviced campsites were full, so reservations are probably wise in the summer. There's not too much to do in the park, but with the water nearby, it provides a fun place for the family for a weekend away and it isn't too far from shopping and highways, making it a convenient stop, too. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We like this park and come back often. I like the location for being close to shopping. The hosts are nice. The wifi is pretty good. The pool is nice but a bit on the cold side. The hot tub looks unappealing. There is not very much privacy from your neighbors. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Stayed here on the way to Canada. Easy access from I-5. Busy campground, lots of families with kids. Interior roads and sites are unpaved with gravel. Roads and sites are a little tight for a Big Rig. Wi-Fi and cable worked well during our stay. Not worth the price in my opinion. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was a lovely park. We had a great stay. The park is clean and beautifully maintained. Our children had a great time in the pool and we loved the pancake breakfast Sunday morning. We will definitely be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed here on our way out of the Cascades. Close to freeway, quite a lot of sirens heard. Busy site, lots of trailers and families. Store isn't well stocked. Quite a cramped campsite with small patches of green in between each individual site. Very noisy at night. The swimming pool is large and indoors, but very chlorinated. Showers at pool weren't particularly clean. We wouldn't stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a nice small campground. This is an excellent base to explore the Anacortes area. The sites are a little close together, but there is a small patch of grass with a fire pit and a picnic table in between. The Wi-Fi was slow and spotty. The mini-golf course was cute and my kids had fun playing around out there for an hour or two. The staff was quite nice. The indoor pool is a nice touch, but the amount of chemicals in the pool and lack of ventilation made us all feel a little sick. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I like this park because you walk way in the farm/forest area for dogs. KOA is the most friendly towards dogs and often offers fenced runs, etc. The staff were friendly and they had good Wi-Fi which is very important to us. Pretty sites, fun place for the children. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We camped here and really enjoyed our visit. The campground was very clean and we really loved the pet area. Our dogs had lots of room to run and were able to cool off in the creek. The staff was very friendly and everything was very well maintained. I would definitely camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed at this campgrounds on grass that wasn't mowed and we had power and water and cable that was quite fuzzy. Saturday morning, right next to us they started up a power washer and washed picnic tables...we left for a drive because it was so loud. Sunday morning again they started up a sander and were sanding picnic tables. As we were checking out, I told one of the KOA hosts that we came here for quiet and both days they chose to work on these things. I suggested maybe during the week, when this part of the campground were empty, that they work on these projects, not while people are camping. They did not seem to care in the least. This was so disappointing to us. We wont be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice quiet park. Cable TV, a little fuzzy. Slow Wi-Fi, very slow getting web sites. Sites are gravel but level. Sites are very close together and the park roads are very narrow. We would stay here again, just be aware of these minor inconveniences. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a good KOA campground. Owners do a good job with maintenance. There are some permanents but they are keep separate and are no problem. The location is great being about 1 mile from the I5 and 3 miles from Burlington. There is a nice river behind campground, dog walk area, quiet road to bike ride... Very quiet location. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground with lots of activities (indoor pool, mini-golf, 3-wheeled bikes, trals.) There were many families with children. We love that this campground is so close to outet shopping! Pets are allowed, and there is a field specifically for dogs to play. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We've stayed here twice and have found this KOA a good weekend or overnight stop. It is clean and pleasant, the sites were a little old but not bad. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool and the playground. We stayed here also at Easter in 2007 and the campground put on a real fun egg hunt for the kids. The campground is convenient to I-5, but 5 mins away, so it's nice and quiet. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean. Hosts were friendly and helpful This was our FIRST RV stop with or new travel trailer. We used this KOA as a base for Friday harbor and Anarcortes. Pool, Mini Golf, all facilities were MUCH cleaner than we thought could be found at an RV park. Will definitely be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A pretty good KOA park. On the pricey side for what is there, but not bad. Nice people in the office and around the park. All of the picnic tables have been situated for 5th Wheels, not MH, but we're usable. Roads a little bumpy and narrow. A couple of long term vehicles that looks like they were the worse for the wear, but it is a quiet park. Probably will stay again as we have relatives in the area. Would have stayed longer but they said they were booked up for the weekend. When we left, they indicated that some had already withdrawn their reservations. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park, clean facilities, acceptable indoor pool and adequate store. The Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Found the sites to be very tight, even though they were pull through. Having a slide fully extended here is almost impossible. Found traffic passed very close to sites all hours - RV'rs love their Diesels!! If things were spread out a little bit and traffic was regulated this would be a 10 star park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is one of the best KOA parks we've stayed at (for our needs) - it has lots of choices - big rigs, trailers, tenting, cabins... We are fulltimers in a 40' coach with 2 satellites - it took a change or two, but a couple of the spots work great. The owners/managers were very nice to work with!! No 50 amp, but that's okay for us. The camp filled up by evening (it was a Friday in June) - everyone we met was friendly and well-behaved, even the dogs. We didn't use the pool nor the showers. The office has some supplies and books to trade. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Pretty clean, but busy. A little too much clorine in the pool for me! Nice & helpful hosts. Close to freeway & casino!! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
For all the bad rap that KOA gets, this one does not fit the mold. Clean park, clean
facilities, lots of activities for the family. Bingo on Saturday nights, pancake breakfast on Sundays. Indoor pool/hot tub/sauna. Store has basic
supplies and snacks. Close to the factory stores in Burlington and Chuckanut drive. Most full-hookup sites are pull-thrus. Seasonals don't look like
most seasonal areas. Management team very friendly and helpful. When they say quiet time is 10:00, that campground got silent. Expect to see and hear
kids play during the day. We'll go here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This campground is only available for racing events at the speedway, a banked dirt oval. You are parked in one of three fields on grass; some areas level, some not, bring lumber. You can arrive on Friday night for the Saturday races at no extra charge but the rate does double for the multi day events such as the World of Outlaws which we attended. There is water available to fill your tank if your arrive dry. The restrooms at the track are kept open for camper use and chemical toilets and garbage bins are placed through out. This all makes for an inexpensive enjoyable camping weekend if you enjoy racing as we do. I estimated 220 spaces, but there is plenty of space so no one is turned away; you just would have to walk a few more feet. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
