Driver BEWARE. This park is the tightest maneuvering park we have ever been in. Better not have a very long or high rig because it is dangerous getting through all the tall pines, low branches and tight turns. No grass, just pine needles everywhere. Not a friendly staff but maybe one. In fact, two were down right rude. We should have left before ever setting up but we were tired and this park is so far in the boonies where else would one go? West Virginia has so many wonderful parks so best to check them out first and maybe skip Holly River State Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Deep in the mountains of WV. Not near anything and is therefore a destination unto itself. Tight, twisting roads to get there from I-79. But - well worth a week or weekend of relaxation in the WV wilderness. Great hiking, biking, and decent fishing. The campground is well spread out and so shaded in the valley, that at 6pm, you think it's 9 or 10pm! Beautiful place! We camped here in a Motorhome.
