Campground was lovely although the roads coming in from the highway are steep and have sharp curves. I dragged the hitch and bars several times. The fire pits at several sites I looked at were full of trash from the previous occupants, and I was getting there right at dusk just before the office closed. There is a nice walking path along the river but it is also full of trash, including evidence of illegal fishing (bottles, line and plastic soda lids) that are a hazard to all animals. They need to do a big cleanup here and not just mow the grass. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We did not stay here but drove through the campground in our 37' 5th wheel. The road in was very windy. We made it OK but decided we probably wouldn't do it again. The sites seemed short for a larger rig. There is electric hookup, but the water is at spigots throughout the campground. Other than that it's a pretty campground, had some water access, had nice shady sites, and seemed quiet. I'm not sure what the nightly rate is because we didn't stay there. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park. Sites are level and cg is on the level. Shower reasonably clean. We preferred
this cg to Pipestem even though there was only electric. Very nice location. Lots of hiking and fishing. Easy access to the southern New River Gorge Area.
Not to far to the north end of the gorge. Good home base to work the New River Gorge Area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
