I have camped here since I was little. I have always enjoyed coming over here as everyone is very nice and friendly. Bathrooms are clean! Sites are well spaced and in private area. Very secluded place. Great place to swim in pond. Very clean beach area with grassy area to sit away from sand. Tent area has small gravel, great for tent camping. Great play area for kids with a volley ball net to play. Lights out is strickly enforced along with gate closing after hours. Someone always available to help you if needed. Very cheap rates, a great value! We camped here in a Tent.

This campground is in the George Washington National Forest, of the West Virginia mountains, very secluded & very quiet. Roads into the campground are very narrow, hilly, and winding,which is exactly what you'd expect in the mountains. However, they didn't seem to deter anyone, as we saw a large 5er, & a couple class A's (38-40 ft) pull in. The entire campground is in full shade, no open sites, so don't expect TV, or wi-fi,(although I did see one of the volunteers with two dishes set up, aimed at the tree tops) or cell signals, but that didn't bother us. The three bathroom/showers were small, (1 shower stall on men's side), clean, functional, heated, with plenty of very hot water. Sites were laid out nicely, with 14 of them having electric hook ups. No water hookups, but there are water spigots spread through out the area, & potable water at the dump station. The Recreation.Gov site is incorrect in stating that there is only 15Amp electric, there is 30 Amp, & in fact our site (#10) even had a 50Amp plug in the box. Our site was probably one of the most unlevel sites we've ever had. There is beautiful Rock Cliff Lake for fishing & swimming. The Trout Pond itself, which is a natural sink hole, was nearly dry, but I was told that it usually fills back up with times of heavy rain. There are several very nice trails in the area, some are relatively easy, for us non hikers. All in all we had a great time, despite the unlevel site. We camped here in a Motorhome.
