Would have rated park a little better if not for so many dogs. Waaaaay too much barking. Dogs in coaches all day, barking their heads off while owners are galavanting about, otherwise park not too bad. Spaces are tight as our 5th wheel is 40ft. No room for tow vehicle without parking crosswise at front. Stayed here 3 days. Hard to believe there is no cable TV! This is 2012 after all. Would stay here again providing we got a space at south end of park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The sites here are very close. It was difficult maneuvering with the narrow streets and sites. On our row the trucks were parked nose to tail. If my neighbor had not moved his truck, I would have really struggled to get out of my pull through site. On the positive side, the owners were quite nice and suggested a day trip to us that was spectacular. But with the site congestion, we will likely try some other park when in Cody again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice RV Park to see the Cody area. Long level pull through sites. Good laundry facilities. Great Wi-Fi. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to grocery store. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff are nice and very helpful. They went out of their way to get us into a spot that allowed us to stay hitched up. WiFi is very fast early in the morning and late at night. But during peak hours, 10am to 7pm the WiFi system can't handle the load. Frequently it was so bad we couldn't even get on. If we did get on the speed was horrible, and even got bumped off. I spoke to management about the issue and he confessed the system wasn't up to the load. We would stay here again, but we would do so knowing that we would need to use our own internet system. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a clean, well maintained, professionally run campground. All services worked as advertised, Wi-Fi excellent, laundry very clean and reasonably priced. No cable and over the air TV signals are modest at best since they come from Billings, MT. We would definitely stay here again when in Cody. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had planned on staying here for just a week but due to ongoing mechanical issues ended up being here for 2 weeks. The staff could not have been nicer. As previous reviews have said if you are looking for scenic views this is not your place. If you want a great place to base out of when you are in the Cody area you won't find any better. We would not stay anywhere else if we are ever in the area again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our 2nd stay here. Clean, friendly, lush grass between close-together sites. Only complaint is length of sites. Two 40' motorhomes traveling together, and neither site really has room for parking tow vehicle nor do any of our neighbors. We had to move our tow for neighbors to escape several days ago and I expect we'll need to ask others to move theirs so we can in a couple of days. Weekly rate We camped here in a Motorhome.

The owner and staff are pleasant and helpful, suggesting a non road construction route to the park. We stayed 1 week, lots to see and do in the area. The campground was our base, we did not spend lots of time here. Our site was ok, level with good hookups, but not very long. We just fit, barely. We had to ask our neighbor to move his truck, we could not navigate the motorhome out of our site. The showers and toilets were clean, but there is just a curtain for privacy, no thank you. Laundry had a good number of machines. The wi-Fi was free and good, with the exception of our final night. We had a good Verizon signal, and clear sky for the satellite dish. We would return, decent campground reasonably priced. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is okay. The showers and restrooms are all concrete floor and shower stalls. Need to be updated but sufficient. Husband did say he had a cold shower and determined it was because all the washers were running and on HOT cycles. That only happened 1 day. There are a few parks in the area that are great for taking your dogs to play and 1 of them is only a couple of blocks away. The dog area in the RV park is a strip of grass along the busy roads. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Park is tight to maneuver a 40' motorhome. Sites are not long enough to park your toad behind the coach. Sites and roadways in park are gravel. The utilities are in the proper location for hookup. Overall an OK park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good location in Cody. Busy park. Sites are tight pull-throughs but good for Big rigs. No views or amenities but a nice place to stay while touring the area. Rate reflects weekly rate. Stayed here on an overnight on our way to Yellowstone. It was tight with a capital T. The park says its dog friendly, but there is no place to walk them, which is an issue. It is not walking distance to town, and I did not see one person out of their trailer during our stay. It will do in a pinch, but it was so tight that I could not put the awning out. Wi-Fi was offered and was pretty good. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed our stay in this campground. The staff goes out of their way to provide information about the area and the bathrooms are very clean. The campground can accommodate all kinds of camping from tents to large motor homes and is close to a large grocery store. The laundry room has 8 washers at $1.25 for 30 minutes and 10 dryers at $.50 for 45 minutes, which is very reasonable. This is a great place to launch day trips into Yellowstone National Park or a trip over the Beartooth Pass into Montana. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We gave it a 6 for value for money and its convenient location to a supermarket. Otherwise, it was a disappointment. We were greeted by an abrupt woman, who dispensed with us quickly. Movement in the park was tight and parking for a vehicle other than the RV itself was inadequate. There were small amounts of grass between each site and ours flooded with water from the irrigation. No cable and few stations available by antenna. Laundry was fine and reasonably priced. Bathrooms weren't good. It isn't cool to just have a curtain covering a toilet (no doors) and the showers, too. I've never seen it before. Certainly inhibited use! The men's bathroom area had 1 toilet and 4 showers only. Inadequate for the number of rigs. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice spot for overnight or as a base for visiting the Cody area. Sites are a little close together and not a lot of space for parking of tow vehicle. Laundry was good. TV was not so hot. Staff was very helpful. While here we even took a guided tour of Yellowstone National Park. It was great. We stayed 5 nights and would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

For full hookups, this is a good price. We were able to use our satellite for TV. The office people were truly helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The bad was that there are no activities for children between tourist activities. The bathrooms were clean, but there are shower curtains where there should be doors. I agree with the other reviews and want to add that the showers were the best force I've been in. The host not only provided a map of Cody but also a map with restaurant listings; a definite help, plus his suggestions were great. Grannys is a great place for breakfast and the Cody Cattle Company dinner show was very enjoyable: the best guitar player I've heard. If you go to the rodeo, get seats on the opposite side from the entrance and the first seats in the middle. That way you get to view first hand the livestock entering and being mounted by the cowboys. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Paved roads with gravel sites spaced about 10 ft apart. Wi-Fi speed was measured at 11.0/5.3 Mbps down/upload--best at any campground I've found so far. We are full timers for 4 yr in a 30' RV. Wife liked the large laundry and prices were washer $1.25 and dryer $1.50. No pool, probably not for kids. Low prices for this area. Good Sam discount was given to total $29. Came to spend one night and stayed a week. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Sites are very level with very good hookups. Sites are a little narrow; and while all sites are pull through, they are too short to leave a toad attached. Each site has a pretty sod area including a picnic table. The laundry room is large and affordable. Wi-Fi works very well. Staff was helpful in selecting attractions/restaurants. They also made us aware of any weather alerts. Although close to a main road, it is very quiet at night. We would stay again if in this area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground is owner run which is asset. It's the nicest park in town that we could find. We checked them all out. Very, very clean laundry room and grounds. Close to the road but noise not a problem. Convenient location. Highly recommend. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has all paved sites, full hookup, on site propane. Clean restrooms except cold as they were in a concrete and metal building and did not seem to be heated. Friendly staff. Would stay again. When visiting, must go to Buffalo Bill's Hotel, "The Irma". Beautiful cherrywood bar and great food! First time we ate the famous "Rocky Mountain Oyster"! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is based on the weekly rate. We enjoyed our stay here; a reasonable rate for accessibility to Cody, Yellowstone, and the Beartooth Highway. Our pull-through site was just long enough for our 40'MH, and there was a space adjacent for tow vehicle parking. Sites are fair-sized, level gravel with grass but no shade. Very good free Wi-Fi, no cable but clear shot to satellite. Verizon cell and Aircard service were good. Owners were very friendly and were eager to please. Excellent large laundry facility with reasonable prices. Road noise, a distraction during the day, tapered off at night and was easy to live with. We'll stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a week to check out the area. Lots to do. Staff was very friendly upon check in. Price is with one of the discounts they give. The sites are a bit close, but not to the extreme that some other places we've stayed. There is a bit of shade at the sites, but that is from very small trees. There is a notice that they water the grass areas between the sites every night. Did see some water spots on the rig, but no biggy. You can wipe down your rig out of a bucket for free, but to wash it, you need a $10 permit. Cars, trucks, etc., need to be taken to a car wash in town. We would stay here again. We stayed here as an over nighter on the way from Denver to Yellowstone. This is a very nice park. The staff at check-in was very friendly and helpful. Even though it was Friday of Labor Day weekend, they were not full at all. They offered a larger site to us (no extra charge) so we could leave the trailer hooked up, which was nice and saved a bunch of time. Paved interior roads w/ level, dirt/gravel sites. Looks to be almost all pull throughs, except for sites on the ends of the park. Bathrooms/showers were clean and functional, but a bit dated (what is it with RV Parks and bathrooms, they always seem old). Grassy areas for each site w/ a picnic table. The park is located as you come into Cody from Casper. It is about 2 miles to "downtown", which is very nice, with lots of shops and restaurants. The hosts provided us with the number for the local cab company, who picked us up and took us to the Cody Cattle Company, which features a "chuck wagon" buffet dinner and a country-western show. We highly recommend that, it was a lot of fun. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Absaroka Bay is a well maintained park. The roads are blacktop, and the pads are gravel. Each site has green grass and a picnic table. The space between the sites is adequate, but the sites are short. The turning radius tends to be tight, too. Wi-Fi was very good, but there was no cable. Cody has several old analog antenna stations. If you have a new HD tv, there is only a PBS station available. The person who checked us in was serious. It is an OK park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park with no trees except along the park boundaries. It is definitely satellite friendly. As others have reported the sites are a little narrow. Our awning was only about two feet from the neighbor. The sites are also too short for an RV and pickup or toad to be parked in line. You need to take your pickup or toad and park it in the gravel parallel with the paved road. You are even told to park the car so that it is to the left, as you face the street, so that it will not block the neighbor on your right when he goes to swing out and leave. By the way, the parking area is on dirt and gravel. The park has in ground sprinklers that run every night and they splash dirt on your RV. They also leave hard water spots on the RV. You get a picnic table at each site. It costs $10 to wash your rig. You are fairly close to a small airport but it isn't too noisy. There is also a major highway along one side of the park, but again not too noisy. We sat out talking to our neighbors on a couple of nights and were not impacted by the noise. There is a Burger King immediately adjoining one side of the park. This is probably the best park in town and we would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is located east of Cody on Hwy 16, which is noisy until late. The sites are narrow and tight. Ours required blocks to get us level left to right. A grass patch separates each site. Restrooms and showers were nice and clean. Laundromat was $1.25/wash & $.50 for 30 minute dry. Reasonably priced. There are not many choices for campgrounds in Cody. Absaroka Bay is a good value. If you have questions about things to see, ask at the office, the owner was very helpful. If you are approaching from the east WY 16 is a better choice than 14 out of Sheridan, which was narrow,twisty, and steep in places. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This place was just fine, convenient, right off the highway. Some stores and restaurants were right next door or across the highway. Downtown area and museums were just a short drive away. Some of the other options in town may have been a bit more park-like, but this place seems a better value for those spending much of the day at the attractions. One negative would be the nightly sprinklers saturating the area around our door. Still overall we would give it a solid recommendation. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park to stay in while visiting Cody; it is located on the side of town. That is less busy but very easy access to town. The WiFi was wonderful and the park had a beautiful atmosphere. We will be returning again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a well maintained park. The owner is on the property from sunup to sundown. We initially reserved for 1 week and then extended to 3. The interior roads are blacktop. The grass between the sites is lush and green. The sites are level, but not extra long, so you will need to disconnect and park horizontal to the unit. The showers are concrete floors with shower curtains for privacy, but they are roomy and kept clean, daily. The laundry has a lot of machines and reasonable at $1.50 per load. An ironing board is provided. Wi-Fi and Verizon worked great. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park in a great location for Cody and the surrounding area. Very clean and functional, with good Wi-Fi, nice laundry and friendly helpful management. The sites are a little cozy but not uncomfortable. Two other cg's in Cody have much tighter sites. Good value. This is our 2nd visit and we've met a number of other "repeaters". We'll be back again. This is a good place for one night while traveling through. The sites are pretty close together, but the owner tries to maintain spaces between units when possible. The Wi-Fi works great at the site. We had Verizon service at the site. Full hookups and every site a pull through makes setting up easy. We did not use the bathrooms. Only a small dog walking area on the edge of the park, but there is a public lake across the highway. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our second stay here at Absoroka Bay. The staff is friendly and the park is well maintained. As a previous reviewer stated the sites are not overly long, my truck had to be parked sideways in front of our 37' fifth wheel. It was near the end of the season and the park was nearly empty, so it was no problem. The Wi-Fi was good as was Verizon signal. The laundry was GREAT! Better than the commercial one in town and cheaper! We will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A very clean, well-maintained park. We were parked near the back and the road noise was not a problem. Owner was very helpful and friendly. The Cody Trolley will come out and pick you up. Less than 5 mile drive to Buffalo Bill Historical Center, the Cody Murals, historic Irma Hotel and Old Trail Town. Very convenient to shopping. We will stay here again and recommend it to others. Our site was barely long enough for our 40 footer, the car had to be parked sideways across the site and was just barely off the road. Side to side sites are very tight; had to reposition rig so driver's side slideout would not hit electric box. That said, park is well maintained with small strips of irrigated grass between gravel sites, hookups worked well and were positioned well, owner friendly. Fairly quiet but ask for a site a few removed from US 16. Convenient location just outside of town, with Albertson's market half mile away, Wal-Mart three miles away, Buffalo Bill museum two miles away or less. Verizon cell phone and air card worked well. Would stay again if in Cody. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our 5th time back to this campground (including an RV rally). Park is clean and green so don't park on the grass! Within walking distance to restaurants, groceries, etc. Friendly staff. Better price than the other two large RV parks. Most sites are pull-throughs, but larger rigs will have to unhook. Located on the better edge of town (IMO) away from the sulphur smells on the west end. Also, a good deal/price for tenters who only want a nice patch of grass to pitch their tent for the night. This is your basic overnight stop & move on the next day RV park. Very tight turns & getting into the sites. Does have a Burger King next door so it's easy to grab a bite without venturing into town. This park is not that close to Yellowstone as it's a good 50 miles away. Wi-Fi worked well but the site wasn't very level and was dusty. Would stay again for an overnight only stop. This park provides good utilities, laundry and WiFi. AT&T phone and data service were very poor. Access and setup were easy with most sites being level pull-throughs. Sites are wide enough for slide outs but may require parallel parking of tow or towed vehicle along the park's interior roads. The park functions better as a stopover than a destination and provides little reason to linger. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here two nights on our way to Yellowstone. The sites were small but we did have some grass. It is right beside a main road so there is some traffic noise. The bathhouse was clean and showers were nice. We liked it for the price and proximity to the town of Cody. Really enjoyed the rodeo and Buffalo Bill Center. Also the Cody dam was neat to see. The electric did go out once when we were here which makes me think they are overloaded on their circuit (from other reviews also). However, they got it back on very quickly. The park was real average for me. All of the many sites are real close together; but then we looked at the other parks in town and all of them are packed in there, too. I guess that's what happens when you are close to Yellowstone. The electricity worked OK, but they are requesting that you only run one air conditioner because the park is full. So there is a potential voltage problem here I suspect. You look around from your rig, and all you see is other rigs. The place is well run and the staff was helpful albeit real busy. This is just a stopover as we make our way to Yellowstone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park with very friendly workers. The majority of the sites are pull throughs with a very nice bed of grass next to the gravel. The sites are close together but not a problem, and there are picnic tables at every site. The only negative is the sites are very short and you have to unhook and parallel park in front of your rig. Part of your tow is in the road. We camped here for several days in a 38' Big Horn 5th wheel with 4 slides. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The people that run this park are very nice. They even called the morning we were going to arrive, to say it was too dangerous to drive with the winds at 65 mph. Park sign on highway has $27.25 rate with discount (GS, AAA). A week is $180, a good deal for Cody and much less than Ponderosa. All pull-through sites were full nightly. Most of those are pretty short for the big rigs, and the back-in sites are short for Cs, but okay for vans and tent trailers. The interior roads are too narrow, and full of tow trucks and toad cars, a real hazard. It is a no-frills park, with a good laundry room but spartan bathhouse...concrete floor and just curtains for the showers and toilets-ugh. The sites along the highway get a lot of road noise and there is very little shade. The sewer pipe is not threaded and placed out of the way. The Tv antenna reception weak, wifi not working often but our Verizon aircard saved the day. The owner and workampers are nice and efficient. There is shopping nearby, and a shuttle bus to town and all the tourist attractions for just $2. There are mosquitoes and ants are around too, careful. If this place cost more, it would not be worth a stop. It is okay for overnight and short stays. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There is very limited over the air channels. WiFi has a good signal and air card worked well. All sites are pull thru except one row is shorter back-in's. We made a quick overnight stop here and this park suited that purpose just fine. Although right on a busy highway there was minimal road noise. There are gravel interior roads. The sites were level and gravel with grass and tables beside each. The showers and laundry were spotless. They have a beautiful hedge of full blooming lilac bushes. The big negative is there is no security for entering or exiting the park and the bathhouse has no locks on any doors and just shower curtains inside for both shower stalls as well as toilets. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Restrooms and showers were big but no heat or air conditioning. Since the weather was cold it made a difference. Site was somewhat level. Roads paved but sites gravel and grass. We used pads. There are a few back-ins, but mostly pull-thru. Sites are average width but since the park is not full they mostly alternate every other site. Site access is easy and the park roads are paved. The internet was mostly okay but sometimes went down or was weak. We noticed no noise, but we were pretty far back in the park. The lighting was adequate. This is a very open park. We stayed here rather than Ponderosa because we figured we be out in the open there and this park was less expensive. Park people seemed friendly. We didn't go to the office much. We stayed 11 days before going into Yellowstone and did some sight seeing. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

You really should spend a couple of days in Cody to visit the Buffalo Bill Museum and attend the Dan Miller Cowboy Music review (summer only). We stayed a week and would stay again. Great little park, we came for a day and stayed a month. Walk to many fast food restaurants, grocery, hardware and more. Park is within a mile of center downtown also has bus service every 45 mins. Beautiful views and convenience offset smaller sites, (they put us on an end site at our request.) TV reception good with antenna, major channels only, wifi works better than most. The sites and facilities of this RV park are quite adequate -- FHU, gravel sites, pretty close together (little space for tow vehicles or toads), a bit out-of-town, no shade, but a grass area for dog-walking. Everything works, and is clean and well-maintained. A local trolley bus goes by (during tourist season, and rather erratically at that) for transport to the downtown area. The high rating is based primarily on the patient and accommodating attitude of the management; he did everything he could to find us a spot after we showed up without reservations due to a poor experience with another in-town campground. I would definitely stay here again primarily because of the park's cooperative management; it made all the difference! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Trees were too small to offer any shade. It was right on a highway going thru Cody so the
traffic noise was constant. It was cheap and we only slept there. It was basically a WALMART parking lot with electric/ water and sewage. I do not like close quarters and only stayed there because of the price and fact Yellowstone is very busy in August. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Loved this campground. Wyoming State Parks have the most beautiful campsites around. We would have given this one a 10 if it really had a sewer like some of the posts said. There are no sewers only a dump station within the park. That being said, this park is very convenient to Cody. Cody is a great town with lots to do. Make sure and go to the Buffalo Bill Museum. There is not a more beautiful setting for an RV park than Buffalo Bill. Nine miles west of Cody, every site has a marvelous view of the Buffalo Bill reservoir. Only seven sites can be reserved, we arrived a day early in mid-afternoon and snagged a first come site and moved the next day to a reserved site (#2). Plan on spending a day and a half at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, skip the Old Town village. Do have breakfast at The Irma. The vault toilets are not my cup of tea, bring the chemicals ! There are two campgrounds at BB State Park, North Shore and North Fork. We stayed at North Fork which is 14mi west of Cody. North Shore is 9mi west of Cody. This is a beautiful park with full hookups around one loop. The other two loops are non hookup, but there is a dump station. Acres of open area and off the highway enough so no road noise. View of the reservoir from almost everywhere. We would certainly stay here again. We were there for a week, before heading to Yellowstone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The electrical and water sites are not as easy to get into as the non electrical sites. If you do not reserve these, you will not get one. We stayed in Loop B which was much better than Loop A (electrical), or Loop C. Very large pull through sites right on the water, but steep drop off to get to water. Noisy, located next to the highway. Had people pulling in all during the night, some tent people at 2:30AM, lights from their car, talking loud till 3:30, and with our windows open because of no electricity. Would not stay here again. Beautiful spot. Mountain views! We stayed here to visit Cody and it was really nice to be out of the crowds. Paddled my canoe on the lake and enjoyed a nice campfire. No hooks so lots of generator noise till 9:50pm. They have water and a dump station. Tent sights looked nice too with wind block fences. Lots of space here. This campground was about 5 miles from Cody and close to the highway with some road noise. We stayed in the first CG, North Shore which is closest to Cody. The pull through is made of asphalt with gravel. The rest of the site is on gravel, weeds and dirt. Not too much maintenance going on here. The sites are close to the lake which is nice. No large trees to interfere with our satellite and we had a decent Aircard and cellphone signal (Verizon). A dump station with drinking water is available. Busy campground and it's too close to the road with road noise all day. We drove to the other campground which is about another 4 miles away (to the west)to see what it was like). We thought that North Fork CG was nicer. There are two loop, one small loop close to the river and the other further away from the river with a view. The sites are situated on grass which was well maintained and it's further away from the highway with less noise. It's out in the open with trees but not enough to not be able to get in a satellite signal. Don't know if their is a cell signal there. This CG also has a dump station with drinking water. Both campgrounds have a lot of first come sites and it wasn't a problem even on the weekend there were sites available. I think next time we'll stay in North Fork. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I'm from Texas and the State Parks I'm used to are nothing like Wyoming State Parks. This park really was no different than staying in a National Park campground except for the price. This campground actually has 2 locations. There is one closer to Cody and another about 4 miles further away. We stayed in the one further from Cody. We stayed in an area that is near a small river with more trees. This was a bad idea for July. There were mosquitoes everywhere. Other than that, it was a very nice place and the price was right. We have a generator so we did not need to plug in. The next morning we were headed toward Cody and we passed the other campground (the same name) and there were quite a few motor homes and 5th wheels there. They seemed to know that this was the better spot. It has a better view but it is slightly more crowded because it is a little nicer. Overall, a great campground and the right price! This is a little gem on the north shore of Buffalo Bill Reservoir, eight miles west of Cody. Actually, there are two campgrounds – one is about half way along the north shore of the reservoir and the other is about 4 miles west where the North Fork of the Shoshone River enters the reservoir. I prefer the first one because of the views of the lake and that is the one that I will describe. The campground has three loops and each loop slopes down to the lake so that all campsites have a good view of the lake. Interior roads and sites are paved. All sites are pull-thru and long enough to accommodate the biggest rigs. No hookups, but a dump station and potable water spigots are available. Some trees but none are tall enough to provide shade. All sites have a concrete picnic table and a fire ring/BBQ grill. Fee is $12 per day ($8 for Wyoming residents). Some sites in the first loop can be reserved and the rest are first-come-first-served. The dam and visitor center are a few miles away. There is a rodeo in Cody every night during the summer and it is great wholesome family entertainment. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I have mixed feelings about this campground. It was fine as far as utilities go (amps and water), but it did seem a little run down. For example, there were weeds growing up through the gravel everywhere. Also, most of the sites were very close together. We stayed in a premium site, which is larger than the others, and I am glad we did. That said, the other campgrounds in the area are tightly spaced as well, and are closer to the main road. This KOA campground at least has a buffer, provided by the swimming pool, between the highway and the sites. It seems that during the summer there are many activities - trail rides, swimming, breakfasts, and so on. These were all closed for the season when we stayed here. I like that the campground feels like it is out in the country rather than in town. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park was not attractive at all. Dated, rundown. The laundry room was gross, machines all needed wiped clean. Office and store was ok, the rest was not. Chose not to stay. Definitely not up to KOA standards and reputation. Bad for KOA. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This was a decent but not great facility. Most RV sites were gravel and many were not that level. There are a few sites that are level and with trees (premium). Sites were a little tight. Store was good (closes at 9), bathrooms/showers were adequate and clean. Has a game room. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Over priced. We stayed in a premium site because it was the only one available. The site was very narrow. It was no bigger than regular sites. This campground was adequate but nothing special. If traveling with kids, they have a nice pool and playground. We looked around Cody, and there isn't anything better. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for a few nights to visit the sites in Cody and to go to Yellowstone. The campground is on the outskirts of town, but a very short drive will get you to the local stores/attractions. We had a shady spot toward the front of the park. It was a level, shady spot with gravel. We were very pleased with our spot. We were close to the road, but the highway noise was not overbearing. The pool was clean, as were the restrooms/showers, although you can tell the restrooms get plenty of use. The free pancakes were good, and the charge for drinks & extras (bacon/sausage/muffins/cereal) were reasonable (it cost our family of five $8 for breakfast). All in all, a pleasant experience. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice managers. However, there were a LOT of older unkept rigs allowed. Also, clothes were hanging on clotheslines, sites had more weeds than grass and the site was very unlevel. Cars were allowed to be parked blocking exit if someone was dumping. Also, the "free" pancakes come with a charge for coffee, OJ, and bacon should you want them. The park is NOT in town but just on the outskirts. All in all, we were very disappointed in this park and would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We loved this campground. The staff went above and beyond, were all extra friendly, and were knowledgeable about the area. We used this as a base camp to go into Yellowstone,although we all enjoyed the Cody attractions as well. Super store, great patios at the sites, clean showers, activities for the kids. The store was great and well-stocked. Pool was large and warm. Only drawback was that the pool was quite crowded with what seemed to be a local birthday party for non-campers. Probably top campground on our three-week adventure! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I gave a rating of four only because the built facilities (bathroom, laundry room, store and pool) were pretty nice. However, the campsites were the worst I have ever experienced with less than four feet between our camper and our neighbors, a dead strip of grass and no fire pit, I actually asked the desk attendant to be moved to a tent site with no hookups. The rv site I was given was so bad I would rather have parked in a chain store parking lot, but at least the tent site had some living grass. I was glad I had only reserved one night. If you are ok with just having a place to park and plug in, enjoy the view into your next door neighbors windows and don't care about sitting outside, you'll probably really enjoy this campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice friendly staff but our site was terrible. Mud from a underground water leak right by our front door. The camper next door, who had been here for a while said many people before us had been given new sites. We were here over the 4th of July and the KOA was full. Site should have been fixed before renting it again. It`s a good campground but needs some TLC. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park for the family, albeit not cheap. We had full hookups plus TV for $65. The pool is nice, there is a main pool a kiddie pool and a hottub - all clean. A bit crowded, but pleasant. There is a nice playground area and even a dog park. Very clean park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here 1 night. There were three of us on motorcycles and each had our own tent. The tent spaces were large enough to accommodate all 3 small tents. They do pack a lot of people in a small area but it wasn't too bad. We didn't have very much privacy at all, but everybody around us was very friendly. The campground does a breakfast in the mornings with all you can eat free pancakes. You have to pay for the coffee, meats and other offered items but was very reasonably priced. I would stay here again either in our motorhome or tent. We camped here in a Tent.

Nice campground. Our site was level. Lots for kids to do. Free pancakes every morning from 7-9. Free ice cream Sunday Friday evening. Staff very helpful. Plan to spend a few days as there are a lot of places to visit in the area. We did a day trip to Yellowstone and came back the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway which is a "Not to be Missed" trip if you have time, although we would not travel this route in our motor home! We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This KOA has a lot going on for the Kids. I saw a puppet show, went swimming, saw a life size chess game, some sort of trampoline thing, three wheel bikes, wagon rides, transportation to the Cody Nightly Rodeo, free breakfast pancakes, and I am sure I missed a lot. It was very busy and noisy due to it being the 4th of July week, so I should expect that. I only got a 30 amp, but still paid full price. I would stay again if the kids were with us. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had reservations for 2 nights, but left after one night. The campground is adjacent to a very busy highway and very noisy. There is no grass just gravel and dirt, creating much dust. The store sells firewood which campers burned all night creating acrid smoke which caused us breathing problems. This is a typical KOA in that the sites are small and campers are packed in like sardines. No more KOAs for us. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

The campground and store were pretty good. The only problem was the managers were up to late listening to music and yelling. I thought there was a curfew at these sites. Nice KOA on highway into Cody from the east. Road noise not too bad, our site was near the highway. Most site are not shaded. They have a lot of things for kids to do, good playground and nice pool and hot tub. Our fire pit however was unusable, tilted at a 45 degree angle and filled with dirt and large rocks. We stayed here 1 night and paid $54.15 with a $10 off promotional coupon. The park was not full. Again, I think KOAs are so much more expensive than other campgrounds, it's only worth the price if you're going to use all the amenities. We camped here with w/e/s. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Check in was a good experience. We were lead to our pull through site. There is a nice space with a concrete pad for the table. A very good cable system has many digital HD channels and many regular ones also. It is a good overnight location, but there are a couple of items to note. Since it was a very warm evening we had dinner on the outside table, the flies were awful, then the wind came up and blew the flies away, but almost did the same to us. All the grass is dead between the spaces, they must not water. I feel if a park is going to charge these prices it should be pristine as far as the grounds. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great park. We chose a premium priced site with a private concrete patio complete with furniture. All you can eat pancakes every morning for $2. Kids loved the pool, game room, jumping pillow, etc. It even has an enclosed dog park! Only downside is the website gives the impression this campground is closer to Yellowstone and located in a more rural area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very Nice Campground. This is one of the most family friendly places we have ever stayed. The restrooms were very clean and the laundry facility was also exceptionally clean. One of the local shows put on a short performance nightly to try and get you to come to their show in town. Very enjoyable! The distance from town was not a real issue. The rate reflects a buy one get one "hot deal" for the first 2 nights of our four night stay. We had a full hookup site that was out in the open which was not an issue as the temperatures were in the 50's. Some of the water and electric sites have shade. A nice quiet campground about 3 miles outside of town. The Wifi worked well at our site. The cable tv system lost satellite signal every once in a while as it rained several times a day while we were there. There is a shuttle bus stop at the campground which runs into town about once every 45 minutes. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The nightly rate is taking advantage of a KOA "Hot Deal" for one night free when you stay 2 nights. Be prepared with a LONG sewer hose if in a full hook-up site. A hose 30 feet long is needed! KOA grounds are not well maintained. Pool serves as a community pool for families in the Cody area, making it crowded. Full hook-up sites are very narrow. There are a few nicer, shaded water and electric sites in the front of the park. We would choose a different park next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground was our family favorite on this trip! It was very clean and nice. There was an awesome pool there and hot tub. Even a baby pool. The playground was nice too. They have a huge pillow that the kids can bounce on. Its much like a trampoline only very safe as it sits on the ground. I wish the tent sites were better. They were located right by the bathroom and people were walking through them to go to the bathroom and there was no shade on the tent sites. It was still very fun and we will definitely return! We camped here in a Tent.

Pool, store and facilities are excellent and well maintained. Grounds were not well kept as grass was nearly 12" at my site and in poor health. Several holes in the ground at my site too. Sites are decent size in both length and width for big rigs. Staff was friendly, but several young workers that were not very knowledgeable about the facilities. A little bit of care for the sites themselves and this campground would be rated higher. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are relatively small (short & narrow). Sites poorly mowed. HUGE hole in one of the main drives that was not marked. Cable TV was not reliable, so I was advised after check-in. Playground and associated childrens equipment is located next to entrance drive and creates a substantial safety hazard. Trees in the entrance ares needed to be trimmed so as to not drag on the top of the TV. If you are going to stay in Cody, try to find a better and more reasonable RV park. This one is definitely NOT worth the money. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very well located campground for visiting Yellowstone Park and the Cody area. We had a lot of fun and found this place to be the best way to Yellowstone Park. The campground is a bit crowded and very expensive for what it has to offer. We had a very small site with no sewer for 52 $ (including a KOA privilege discount). I'm sure this is a great park for families with kids since it appears most are simply ignored by the parents and allowed to run wild. The kiddie karts are a special irritant when you can't get to either front or back entrance to the office. Even though it's in a popular tourist area, the nightly rate is outrageous for a 20'x40' patch of unlevel (it would take special effort avoid level in this place) bare gravel in the blazing sun and with only W/E. We were there in '03 but never again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our only problem with this campground was the employee who hassled everyone. He drove around in his golf cart making sure everyone knew he was in charge. Was only had a stopover from West Yellowstone to Spearfish SD but the Cody Historical Museum is a cracker! Rodeo is way overpriced at $17 a head. With several kids it's unaffordable! Great KOA. Too bad we cannot leave a ZERO Overall Rating, but at least the good WiFi connection allowing us to leave this review is worth a 1. They describe the sites as Premium but they are not level. We had to change sites in order to get somewhat level. It is the worst site/park we've stayed at since the beginning of our trip on March 21st. Unkempt, needs mowing! We would NOT stay here again. Even with the KOA Hot Deal - buy 2 nights get 1 night free - it not worth it. Keep Driving! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We actually stayed here in 2006, while touring Wyoming. We stayed in KOA's all through Wyoming, and this was the dustiest and hottest (not the best in the nest). If we had been in our trailer it would have been OK, but the cabins, (not!). We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

We were placed in a very tight back-in site. We had rigs very close on every side and behind. This was the most uncomfortable I have ever been in a campground. There was no way to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Be sure to ask for a pull through if you have any size of rig. We should have been advised of the tightness of the space before registering. This was a nice park. Sites have chairs, tables but are mostly gravel. It was hot but the power supplied was adequate to keep the AC on. There are grassy areas that you can walk to. Staff and there are a lot of them, are friendly and helpful. Each morning the cook all you can eat pancakes for $1 and have bacon and buffalo sausage as well for a bit more. They have family events like Bingo and Ice cream socials. It was pleasant and a great embarkation point for Cody and Yellowstone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Full amenities but super-crowded parking lot type of place. We only stayed one night as a layover before entering Yellowstone. However the east entrance of YNP near Cody should be avoided due to construction. Try the northeast entrance as it's a flatter and easy for RV's. You won't miss anything but skipping this campground. In retrospect we should have just asked Walmart or Kmart to put us up for the night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It appears most pull-thru's are doubled up for the busy season. While we were there a tent-camper pulled their's in so that their trailer was right smack in front of the electricity, and only had to pull out 2 feet of cord. When we pulled in, our bed was only 1 foot from theirs! We needed 40 feet of electric and water
hoses to reach the hook-ups. We complained to the management and were told they were leaving. Management put a note on their door to please come to the office. It appears they did, but only to extend their stay! We stayed two nights with these people parked in our site. Upon leaving, we again complained to management. They did agree to refund one night's stay for our inconvenience. Still, I would have preferred that those people were made to MOVE OUT of our site! Makes you wonder if they're doing that in every campground they go to. We camped here in a camper.

Older park. Poor sewer hookups, gravel sites. Laundry but dryers had only one out of four working, and it had only low heat so the $1.50 to dry a load turned into $4.50. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has a superior location with some of the best scenery we've laid eyes on. It's about halfway between Cody and Yellowstone which makes it nice to be able to go either way. Very clean, grassy property. RV sites are dusty and there are only 9 or 10. No shade. Water was good, Wi-Fi was acceptable, but Verizon signal was minimal. Nice new laundry and restrooms. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed this c/g. It was very clean, the owners were pleasant and the landscape was great. It is 18 miles from Cody and the drive is beautiful. It is 25 miles from east gate of Yellowstone but I would not recommend making this a base camp for Yellowstone. We will camp here again if ever in Cody area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very expensive for what you get. They advertise: close to Yellowstone Park. I guess it's closer than New York. Still well over an hour's drive. Noisy and a very windy location. We were not forewarned of sewer work and could not use sewer, had to rely on our own tanks. Still full price. We wanted to stay several nights but one was enough. I based my decision to book here on the apparent ease of access to Yellowstone. I booked a "pull" through site, but was informed on arrival that they were working on the septic system for the whole park and the exit for a pull through was closed. I decided to stay only two days but was told I had to stay the 3 that I booked. At 8am the next day, the owner came by knocked on the door and said he closed off our black and grey drains and pulled our sewer disconnect, because they were going to be installing new tanks. No toilets, no showers, no sewer; and septic tank replacement going on a few feet away! We had not anticipated primitive camping and a rude host. We forfeited the remaining two days rather than deal with this campground! I protest it on my Visa. For the record: the 20-25 minute drive that they told me it would be to Yellowstone, is more like 45 minutes of steep climbing for about 30 miles. I could have booked a water/electric site in YNP for less! We camped here in a Motorhome.

I couldn't disagree more with the tone of a couple prior negative comments. It is correct that there are no public bathrooms in this small facility. But when you have sewer, water and electric hookups available, and considering that probably 95% of all the rigs and trailers that will stay here have their own bathrooms, I fail to see why this is really an issue. The absence of public lav's is the only slight negative I can think of. On the Pro's: It's a meticulously kept site with very friendly and helpful staff: especially the owners. There are two very large grass areas. One has horseshoe pits and BBQ facilities, the other has a nice playground. It's a small size facility which lessens the odds of having noisy, annoying neighbors! It has an absolutely beautiful location with truly breath-taking views of the Wapiti Valley, and it's only a ten minute walk down to the river. There is excellent food made by the owners. There are laundry facilities. The owner originally squeezed me in (when I showed up with no reservation and they were full), allowing me to dry camp, use all of the facilities (other than the actual hookups), including the all-important Wi-Fi, all for $20. $20 is a reasonable price to avoid staying in a Wal-Mart parking lot with no Wi-Fi. When they had a cancellation, I moved to a full hookup site and changed the rate to $36. Based on my last 10 years of RV camping everywhere from $15 State Parks to $65 KOA's: I personally feel the $36 was spot on. I highly recommend this RV park to any and all except possibly the most impossible-to-please types: who ought not to be living the RV life in the first place IMHO. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Made reservations around 8:00 AM on the morning of 6/15/09. Spoke with two ladies the first one said they had 2 open sites but I needed to speak with Kim about PassPort America reservations. Kim came to the phone and said yes there were 2 sites available for 6/17/09 for up to a week using PPA. So I told her to book me for arrival on 6/17/09 which she confirmed I was booked. Got a call late that night by a man that said he was the owner and that he could not honor my reservations as no sites were available. I asked him how this was possible as I had talked with Kim and she assured my 2 sites were available? He stated that Kim was new and didn't know, I also told him that I spoke with another lady first which had said the same thing but that Kim would have to be the one to handle it. His reply was he didn't know what he could do as no sites were available. So if you are planning on going to this CG you had better make sure you have it in writing or email or you will might arrive with no site available. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice, well maintained, little place. Right on the highway, and strategically located in Wapiti, right in the middle between Cody and Yellowstone. We weren't happy here. I wouldn't call it a RV Park, maybe a parking lot for RVs. There are ten RV sites in a gravel lot. No tables, fire rings, restrooms, laundry or much else. There are suppose to be five 50amp and five 30amp sites. The owner seemed to be put out by any question. We stayed here for a month but I wouldn't recommend staying here for any longer than a night or two at the most. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Endorsed by Passport America. Good friendly staff, very accommodating. Clean RV park, by a country highway leading to Yellowstone Pare, but you can not hear any traffic. Playground for children. Gravel RV lots, plenty room. Cody is about 18 miles east and Yellowstone about 29 miles west. If you are going to stay for a long period of time (week) it is good to be in this location, because there is a Walmart in Cody. So you are half way in between Yellowstone and Cody. It will take at least two day to cover Yellowstone. Had a good experience at this RV Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground served as our base camp on our first-ever Yellowstone trip. Good friendly staff, very helpful. Clean RV park, by a scenic highway leading to Yellowstone East entrance, not too noisy. Playground for children. Gravel RV lots. Great centralized location between Cody and Yellowstone! Had a good experience at this RV Park. The only drawback is the lack of a pool and other traditional campground amenities for kids on those days when you are recuperating from those long hikes in Yellowstone or white-water rafting down the Shoshone or Yellowstone river! Nevertheless, a fantastic and fair deal for the price! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

For the money, this park is great. Long pull through sites, pretty level gravel, nice tables with growing trees, some big enough to give shade. Grass well maintained. We stayed here one night. The space we were given was very close to our neighbors. No table and if there was, there would not have been anywhere to put it. The park has many permanent sites; most were well cared, some had clutter stacked outside. There was grass at each site. The restrooms and showers were clean, but not private. The grounds were clean. The lady in the office was pleasant but curt. No cable TV or Wi-Fi. There was an odor of sewer outside. We have stayed in much nicer state parks for less money. The best part of this campground, besides being only $16/night for full hook-ups, is the owners. They were very friendly and helpful. They are newer owners looking and visiting with the campers to get ideas on ways to improve the campground. There are alot of small trees growing, but not full shade trees yet. This campground is in a great location to visit Cody. It is in walking distance to the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum and to a couple of good restaurants. We were there off-season so it was less crowded. With over 150 campsites, I can image how crowded this park will be in season. The interior roads and sites were mostly on packed gravel. Some of the electrical utilities were in the back and some were in the middle. There is a combination of back-in and pull-through sites. This park is big rig friendly. The electrical voltage was very strong. Verizon air card and cell phone worked well. There is free Wi-Fi available, but we did not use it. The bathrooms were very clean but a little out-dated. The price reflexes off season rates. In season the rates range between $40 - $50. We would come back here if we were in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed at this campground many times and will return whenever in Cody, but was a little disappointed this time, because when I called in March, was told the campground would open April 15th. Well, when we arrived on April 19th, it was not really open nor operating. There was a sign on the door that it was open, but due to the cold weather no water available (which we understand) but just feel we should have been told that was a possibility. However, loved the location and will definitely stay here again when in Cody. We used the hose (when it was not frozen) to fill our tank in the camper. Next time, we will wait until possibly the month of May to plan our trip here. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

Would not stay here again and would not recommend. We came in late in afternoon and asked for help in arranging a tour of Yellowstone. They hunted all over and found one brochure (which ended up being one not in business any more). After we decided to drive through Yellowstone on our own, we explained we would probably only be staying for one night but staff insisted we pay for two since that is what our registration was for. We left the next day with no refund due to a no refund policy once you paid. Said maybe if they rented the spot they would send us a refund (did not receive one). Convenient to most everything, especially the Buffalo Bill museum. That's about all the positive remarks I can muster. Sites are cramped with some so close to each other that you can't back in. Watched one fellow attempt to get into three different spots before he was successful. And, he knew how to back a trailer. Conveniently located in town, this is a nice, albeit crowded park. The sites are level but tight. Our pull through had a nice cement walk, next to a nice patch of well-kept grass. As others have mentioned, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They know and promote their town. There was a decent-sized pen for dogs, and several areas along the perimeter of the park are considered dog walks. If the lower part of the park is open, you can walk down a steep road to the creek. The cable TV channel selection was good, although the reception wasn’t the best. Wi-Fi at sites is virtually non-existent. We used our Verizon 3G service the whole time, and it worked well. The park was clean and very well maintained. Didn’t use the shower/restroom facilities or laundry. This is a good choice if you want to walk to central Cody. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Friendly, helpful, funny staff. Gravel roads, clean, modern bathrooms/showers. Sites are a bit close as we could not extend out awning completely. Many sites have grass under the picnic tables. Park designers 'dropped the ball' at this RV camp as some sites have no parking for your tow vehicle. To remedy this, the owners allow parking in the site next door. Sewer connections around us were in an awkward place under the back end of the RV where you had to get on all fours under the RV to connect your black/grey tanks. They offer a very nice gift shop! There is a good restaurant within walking distance just past the Dairy Queen. We enjoyed a good breakfast and dinner there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice CG within walking distance of downtown Cody. All members of office staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. You receive a full briefing regarding the Cody area when you check in--very helpful. We were in what may be the nicest site in the entire CG--#32. We may have been given that site because we made reservations in May-3 months in advance. The back-in site offered almost constant shade, a paved pad. good privacy (end of row site), and full hook-ups. The only negative was that except for sewer, hooking up required me to place my hoses, electric line and cable across my next door neighbor's "yard"--embarrassing to say the least. The CG should consider separating the hookups so that each site had their own. A newer area had pull-thrus, but offered little shade. The CG can get crowded, but the location and exceptional staff make it an excellent choice when visiting Cody. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a large and very crowded RV park. They really pack the rigs in tight and use every available spot, no matter the challenge to the Rver! The site we were given had the hookups on the wrong side for our site and shared by the next site. We couldn't even use the sewer hookup as it ended up being under the rig and too far to reach. We had to carefully position our rig so that one slide just missed the electrical box and placed our door step right over the water hookup, which had the neighbors hose attached to it also. We had maybe an inch to spare one way or the other for it to work! We placed a portable step over the water connection or it really would have been tricky to get in and out of our trailer! Worse hookup situation we've seen in many years! The office staff was very friendly. They have a gift store, etc. We took advantage of the morning breakfast by an independant vendor in the park and it was excellent and priced very reasonably. We might stay here again but we would have to have a different site! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We only stayed one night at Ponderosa as we were traveling back from Yellowstone towards Colorado. The main reason for stopping in Cody was to visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. (That by the way is a awesome place. Don't miss the opportunity if you are in Cody.) The Ponderosa Campground was clean and right in the center of town. It has two entrances so we got a little mixed up coming in, but no big deal. They do not accept credit cards so have your cash ready. The sites were a little tight especially those close to the office. We stayed in the back in some pull through sites that were longer and a little wider but I still felt like we were staring into the neighbor's camper. It is the perfect place for a one or two night stay in Cody. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here here for the first time in Cody, where as we have stayed in two other CG's in prior visits. Overall, this is a pretty nice park. The sites are pretty much shaded but they are somewhat close. It was pretty quiet and the staff was friendly and were accommodating if any problem arose. We stayed 3 nights here and other campers even though close, were all very friendly. We enjoyed our stay here while enjoying the Cody Experience. I would and will stay here again. The only real drawback is the Wi-Fi. You may have to move to the rec room to get it and you may not get it there either as I found out trying to get a fellow camper online. This is an OK park. The old section is very cramped and only back-ins. The newer section has both back-ins and pull-through but the sites are very close together. The WIFI is non-existent and the cable TV does NOT have all the channels that they claim to have. Didn’t carry HGTV or Food network plus about a dozen others that I watch. The laundry is expensive with the dryers at $1.50 for 30 minutes. Nothing dries in 30 minutes. The location is terrific but the amenities leave a lot to be desired. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I didn't mind because the campground was well priced, convenient, clean, and had a nice gift shop. I did a ton of laundry here and the price was reasonable and the machines were clean. If it’s windy, it must be Wyoming! We heard this often. Yes, it was a bit windy off and on during our 5-night stay. We were at the back-side (newer area) of the park. Downside, the trees are not mature. Upside, the spots are larger and all pull-through. They are also a little farther from the road noise and most important, closest to the Dairy Queen! If you’re one to have to use your awning, then Cody isn’t for you. The park store is quite adequate and offered many of the same items found in town and were a little less in cost too. Park staff was very friendly and knows the town. Cody itself is fun and a great place to spend a few days. The park is very well maintained. My only complaint about the park is the non-existent, free Wi-Fi. It worked well enough to access their home page and that was it. Simply trying to access Hotmail yielded only time-outs. I was told that I could take my laptop to their laundry room and plug in (said too many people must be trying to download movies so the system was overloaded). Over 5 days, I tried at just about every hour of the day from 6am to midnight: no luck. Thank goodness for smartphones. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park, spaces are tight though, and the exits to the main street can be rough. The WiFi was spotty, but I had my Verizon hot spot with me so it wasn't an issue. When we arrived, we had a choice of spots to choose from: we took the back in spot under the trees for the shade. The staff was friendly and even helped back us into our spot, they also knew about all the attractions around town. A good BBQ place to eat, is called Bubba's, I also recommend going to the Cody Cattle Company for the dinner and a show which is also down the same street headed towards Yellowstone. This is a fantastic park with ALL the amenities. The rest rooms were large and very clean. Plenty of showers and hot water. Showers are private with a changing area, very nice. I arrived as they were opening for the season. Water was not turned on but filled my tanks. As I was leaving the water was on. Since it was opening the store was a little bare, no ice, etc. But the place was getting ready to open and lots of work going on, I imagine all will be up and running in a couple days!! The rate was discounted since it was just opening, Wi-Fi worked fairly well, but slow. My Verizon hot spot worked great. I was in a back in: shade trees and picnic table. Everything you could want and the owner directed me in which was a help since I am alone and backing can be trying when you can't see. I WILL stay here again. Close to the Museum and only 50 miles from the East Gate and Cody has everything you could want to re-supply. Stay here you won't regret it. Playground for kids, pet friendly. The ladies who greeted me upon arrival were kind and knowledgeable about Cody's attractions. Â The next morning, the man in the office was...nice word...Rude! Asked to chose our own site, I found a back-in spot with trees. Â Pull through sites are in full sun. Â Level gravel pads with bright green well-watered sites were delightful and relaxing! Â Provided with ether site's full hook-up was cable TV, yet not all channels were clear - ok for me! Â Normal in-town campground traffic noise was no trouble. The laundry facility was crisp and clean, yet closed at 7:30pm - not convenient to anyone passing through town. Â The Buffalo Bill Historical Center's art is a good reason to stop and spend a day! I would rate the campground much higher if I'd not experienced "rude man". Really a nice place except for the one forceful rude man. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed our stay here in Cody. Rate reflects 7th night free if staying for a week. Parts of the park are more crowded than others and some sites offer shade. Newer area has pull-throughs but relatively close together if both rigs had slides. Easy access to town, lots to do in Cody, and we definitely would stay here again. Nice campground right in town. We loved being able to walk to the museum, and Dairy Queen (mostly Dairy Queen). We stayed in one of the pull-through sites which had plenty of room, but no trees. There are some trees around the back-in sites. The cable TV hookup was a nice surprise. This park is well-kept, clean, with nice grass areas. Wi-Fi is available only near the office, and our site was too far away, so I sat outside the office to access the internet. It was very quiet at night. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Cody. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I give this a 9 when compared to other places in the area. It was a nice campground, a little cramped, but easy enough to get in to and out of our site. It is convenient to everything in the area, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was even grass on our site, the only grass I saw in Wyoming. Full hook ups with cable. Not sure about Wi-Fi as I used my cellular service. While in Cody we took a ride to compare this campground to others we passed up. Let's just say it re-affirmed that we chose the right place to stay and would definitely stay at this campground again. While in Cody hit the rodeo and museum. The staff here recommends the cowboy dinner theater, but if you want the best entertainment, go to the Dan Miller Cowboy review downtown instead. The band and show were great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great park but things do get a little tight. Everything is very clean and the staff is great. The bathrooms are very busy but again they do manage to keep them clean. Not all the hook ups are on the same side but it's really not a big deal. They only accept cash and checks so keep that in mind. Within walking distance to downtown Cody which is worth the trek and don't miss the Rodeo. The Staff made great suggestions on how we should spend our time. Great park, we will absolutely come again. Small tight spots very close to your neighbor. Spots are assigned as you arrive, so you can't reserve a particular spot. In town, so close to activities. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, showers. We had a great stay here and would definitely recommend it. The campground itself is not amazing, but it’s certainly adequate. The location is perfect for exploring Cody and for seeing the rodeo. We stayed in a back-in site that overlooked a pretty canyon. The view from these sites was great, much better than the pull-through sites, and we had no problem getting our 40’ fifth wheel parked. The one bad thing about our site was that the sewer hookup was underneath our rig, so we couldn’t reach it without our extension. We also had to weave our cable TV wire under our rig to hook in on the opposite side. There was no real grass between the sites, basically a parking lot, and there was no pool. The Wi-Fi didn’t work from our site. While not fancy, it met our needs, and we even stayed an extra day. We’d come back again if we were visiting Cody, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is really a pretty nice campground except for the Wi-Fi. We could not get a signal in our site and had to go to the video room for signal. Hosts are wonderful. This park has fairly long, level sites. Located on a busy street but not much noise unless on street-side sites. Nice grass between most sites but sites are just a little bit too close together. It is difficult to use the picnic table if the next site is occupied. WiFi is weak but normally usable. We would stay here again especially since it is so accessible to town and it's attractions. We love this campground and always stay here when in Cody. It is convenient to town and all of the attractions, as well as many restaurants. We always request the same site, which has a concrete slab, and it is level. However, have stayed in the gravel sites and they are level, also. The laundry/bathrooms/showers are all clean. Got a recommendation to come here and we're glad we did. The KOA is beyond the edge of town. The Ponderosa is right in town so it's very convenient to restaurants and attractions. Layout is a little odd, but we came early in the season and had our pick of sites. After mid June, we understand reservations are essential. Level gravel sites. Pet friendly. Very clean bathrooms and showers. Nice little store and gift shop. Extremely congenial and helpful owners (an older lady and her two daughters). Highly recommended. We paid $30 plus tax for a back-in site, pull-throughs are $5 more. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very busy park. Congestion at main entrance, but we bent our landing gear using another entrance. Not much room to maneuver big rigs when they are leaving and coming in at the same time. It's on the main highway in Cody right in a curve. Noisy at night. The sewer connection is UNDER the RV and we couldn't use it, but when we tried to find the dump station: it's on the entrance (not exit) side of the park. Our back-in site had a view out the back, nice. Laundry was acceptable. Would probably try the other park outside of town next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

While this park does have some very nice sites, it is tightly packed and some are awkward to access. We were first given a site with no water hookup, and the electric and cable TV on the passenger side of coach. We ended up parking across 3 very short back in sites along one of the entrance/exit roads of the park. Cable TV was good, as was the WiFi, but we were also right by the office. Very friendly, helpful staff: very knowledgable about the area. Stay 6 nights get 7th free during our visit. Restrooms/showers were very clean. Good laundry facilities. Very convenient for visiting Cody. Buffalo Bill museum was certainly worth seeing. The park is 52 miles from the East entrance to Yellowstone, so its quite a roundtrip trek. There are only 2 parks closer if you need full hookups. We would not stay again if we ever visited Cody again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our 6th time to stay in this park, but will not our last. We like the convenience of this park (within walking distance to the little town of Cody, the museum, restaurants,etc.) The owners are terrific! The sites are level with some of them concrete slab. We have been in Site #55 for the last three years. The only complaint that we have is that some people do not pick up after their pet makes a mess. No fault of the owners of the Park, but the idiot campers who think rules are for other people not them. If you own a pet: be considerate and either leave them at home. Keep the campgrounds in better shape for others. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

What a joke! This is a gravel and chewed up asphalt parking lot with hook ups. Make sure you have plenty of water hose and 75 ohm cable I used all I had! No Wi-Fi for my stay and no one knew how to fix it in the whole town! I will give them credit the staff was friendly and helpful and it is close to town. For some reason, my first attempt at posting this review in August didn't take so I'm trying again in mid-September. I am mentioning this because I want to comment on a September review giving the park 1 star. From their description of the park and facilities and rate quoted, I am not sure they were at Ponderosa. I also want to mention again (as I did 2 years ago) that this park has 2 distinct sections: the older section has a wide variety of sites and the newer section has about 30 pull-thrus in the open. The sites in the older section can vary widely in size and quality. We were lucky enough to get one of the sites in the new section this stay. We had FHU, free at site WI-FI, cable TV, and good satellite reception for our 2 day stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Well-run and maintained campground. Check-in was easy and friendly. Sites easy to get into, but rather narrow. They advertise free Wi-Fi but admit that it doesn't work well in all areas. Park is convenient (walking distance) to downtown Cody and only a mile away from Wal-Mart and two miles from the rodeo. There is a Dairy Queen next door that was my downfall and a Pizza Hut across the street. Laundry was clean and large, but dryers were too expensive for their drying ability. There is a lovely tent area down the hill with a beautiful creek; it was good exercise to walk down there a couple of times a day to commune with nature and see the deer. I'd give Ponderosa a 9 if it had a hot-tub and better Wi-Fi reception. The east gate of Yellowstone is about 50 miles away, but it is a beautiful drive to get here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great campground. Nice gravel roads, level sites with picnic tables at each. Bathrooms were very clean, well lit and well stocked. Laundry facility was also nice and clean. The staff is friendly and extremely informative! They seem to have fixed the long check-in issue by giving you your space number immediately and asking you to come back to check in after you get settled. Conveniently located to many of the attractions in Cody, including the museum and the Cody Nite Rodeo. It gets windy: we stayed for 6 days and never even put our awning out. We had a great site but, in general, sites are close together and some of them are awkwardly situated. They only take cash, but have an ATM on site. The Wi-Fi doesn't work very well. The park is close to everything which was nice. They claim they have WiFi but it is non-existent. I asked the lady in the office about not being able to receive the WiFi and she gave me a 2 page print out of excuses and told me to read them. She then informed me that they were not going to cut down trees so people could get WiFi. We really enjoyed the Cody Rodeo and the museum. The RV park does need to trim some of their smaller trees. We couldn't use our entire site because a tree would have scratched the side of the motorhome. When we left a worker yelled at us because we moved around the tree over some grass to avoid it. The park is very well located! Within walking distance to the Buffalo Bill Museum and a very short drive to either the Wal-Mart or the Albertson's. We were in a back-in site. While the trees were nice, they prevented us from getting WiFi at our site. (I suggest the park upgrade their internet capability!) The biggest problem with the site was it was too short! I only have a 25 foot rig, but my toad did not fit. Had to do a tricky parallel park in front of the the RV, but I still stuck out into the aisle. The people in the office were very helpful and provided much information. My biggest complaint is that this large park is CASH only! I had a hard time believing that a large operation (with a big convenience store and gift shop) did not accept credit cards. I can understand this in a very small mom-and-pop park, but this was a large, well-run park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fantastic park. If it had a pool, I'd have given it a 10. They were amazingly welcoming. They gave us a thorough orientation to the area and had a lot of services to make life easier (like buying Cody Nite Rodeo tickets right at the desk). The bathrooms were spotless and convenient. The showers were clean and pleasant. The laundry was wonderful. While not all sites have shade trees, we did (site 93) and it was nice when things got up in the high 80's. We had a beautiful view over a canyon with a stream (that's where the waterfront sites are but they are tent only sites). I really have no complaints. Furthermore, we had trouble with our rig there and had to have it towed. They couldn't have been more accommodating and polite. They were much more worried about OUR inconvenience than their own. This campground is perfect for a visit to Cody as we can visit the famous Buffalo Bill Museum as well as downtown restaurants by foot. The negative note is that as we have a small motorhome, we were installed in the gravel area where the sites are so narrow that the neighbor sewer is under your picnic table! This is unacceptable. We stayed a week here. It is a couple of minutes from Walmart, 5 blocks to the Buffalo Bill Museum, and within 6 blocks of downtown. The main problem for us: The sewage dump area at the campsite was a little smelly and had apparently been excavated recently to repair a line, but they put the same contaminated soil back in the hole. This observation just applies to an area near the southeast corner of the Ponderosa campground property adjoining the bluff. The laundry facilities were relatively expensive. This campground is the only one in Cody that is centrally located and w/in walking distance to the EXCELLENT Buffalo Bill Museum and some restaurants. The folks who work there are wonderful, super friendly, helpful and very laid back! They had a free country music concert one night which was fun. Some even got up and danced. And they don't have a "Check-Out Police" coming around and bugging you to leave if you're past the check-out time. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it very highly. After having read some of the reviews, I'm wondering if I am in the same park. Yes, check-in can be hectic if you arrive at the wrong time of day, but the fact is, they take the time to go over the options in the park, and answer the questions about town. I was given the option of 11 sites and told to let them know which I took. I took site 77. It is level, close to bathouses and Wi-Fi (I can see the transmitter/receiver), is partially shaded and on a wide paved road. The gravel back-in spot is wide enough for the vehicle and I had a 3' concrete pad plus a 12' grass strip to the next pad on my right and an mature apple tree on about a 10' gap on my left. Bathrooms were clean. I have a class C and had no problem backing in from my blind side (I am alone). I definitely would return. In closing: the fact that this was the only CG in the area that was full, has to say something. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice, well kept park right in the heart of Cody. The sites are not wide, but all your slides can be out, but maybe not your awning. The sites are level with kept grass between them. It's a great place to stay while doing everything Cody has to offer. The owners are nice and hands on. DQ is right next door. This is probably the least desirable park we have stayed in. It is convenient to Cody, but the sites are close, with dirt roads and lots of dust. The back-in sites are really small yet they will put a 34-36 ft 5th wheel in them. It has Wi-Fi that works good, but not excellent. There is a Park store, and the staff is friendly and helpful. This is OK for an overnight, but not for an extended stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

They did, however, give us a spot that had a tree on each side so that we have to maneuver our trailer right between the trees in order to back into our spot. Excellent location on west end of town (and a fun town it is). Very helpful staff. Big-rig/pull-through area spacious, while older back-in sites seemed tight. However, some of the big-rig area gets muddy even with no rain. The problem is watering of site grass patches, with insufficient gravel on site pads/roads so water pools and mud forms. I knew this in advance from various forums but camp managers said they'd never heard of the problem. But even after being warned and asking for a non-muddy site, I had to walk through mud all the time. Maybe camp managers should take a walk and see it too. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Long pull-through sites but the space between neighbors is only about eight feet: enough for slides and awnings, but little else. They have full hook-ups, with cable and Wi-Fi, which worked well for us. Lots to see and do in the Cody area, so we were comfortable extending our stay a few days. Very nice park. It had two entrances to highway. The site was shaded but not so much we could not use our satellite. Friendly office personnel and helpful in getting parked in our site. Convenient to places to eat. The town has a rodeo nightly with local talent. They were good considering they were not professional. I would recommend to any one and would stay here again. Not sure how this campground got so many 8's and 9's. It does not rate them. Check-in is a mess. Had to wait while gift shop customers were helped before check-in could proceed. Had made reservations three months in advance specifically for a pull-through site, and they had us assigned to a tight, 90 degree back-in site. After some haggling, they finally decided that they could put us in a pull-through. Our site was very small, and only had room for our 36' fifth wheel. Had to wedge the truck in to the side. The only room between rigs was taken by our picnic table. Very cramped park. After all of this, the Wi-Fi was a waste of time. It is there, but not usable: and we have two computers to try. Next time we will stay at Wal-Mart. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A bad experience for us from start to finish! Check-in was crazy - rv's were backed into the road as 3 had arrived at once and there was nowhere for them to park inside the camp site. It was totally disorganized. We waited in the 'suicide lane' for 10 mins before we could pull in. I had booked a pull through but we didn't get this and instead we had to squeeze into what looked like the corner of a car park. Didn't have time to query this as rv's were waiting in the street behind us to pull in! The small space next to us was used as an entrance to the tent sites behind us by motorcyclists. I think if you are in a motorhome and are lucky enough to get in the pull through section then you are probably ok. Most of the travel trailers and fifth wheels were in the all gravel car park type area. We were luckier than most in that area as at least we had our vehicle next to us - some had to park it away and did not have any space for a table even between them and the rv next door. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park was VERY busy and getting into the park from the main road may be difficult because of back-ups waiting to register. The staff were very polite, efficient and accommodating. The park is well maintained but overcrowded in the back-in area. However, the "big rig" area was much nicer and all were pull-throughs, but,the next door neighbors sewer hookup was practically under our picnic table. This appeared to be true on all sites. The Buffalo Bill Historic Site and Museum (a MUST TO SEE!) is within walking distance. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice, in-town campground. Within walking distance to several attractions in Cody and only a little farther walking to the downtown. Also partnered with a couple of shuttles that'll take you to some attractions. Well-maintained grounds, could use a little more shade in some areas (ours). Gift shop on the grounds. Wi-Fi was spotty for both days we were there. Other camper agreed. Desk personnel said it was always good but our and the other camper's experience said otherwise. The reasonableness of the campground conditions, the fair cost, and large number of things to see in Cody got us to change our stay from one to two nights. Would certainly camp here again if we weren't looking for a more countryside experience - although a deer walked into the very lower park of the campground reserved for tenters / teepee-ers while we were walking down there. Extremely friendly staff that provided mountains of info on the local area. Great for big rigs. The newer sites had nice grass between them and the views are spectacular. Cable TV worked fairly well with just a few bad/fuzzy channels. Is within walking distance to the museum and within a mile or so of the Super Walmart. Don't forget to try to the Prime Rib buffet at the Irma Hotel; it's unbelievable. On a bad note, this is yet another campground that advertises wi-fi yet does not provide it to a substantial portion of their grounds. Neither of our 2 sites in the newer 50amp area had it. Great location – within walking distance to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center (must see). Friendly, helpful staff. Clean well run park. As others have mentioned, pull-through sites are in an open area, don’t pass up the nice back-ins with the canyon/mountain views. Hookups can be a challenge, shared pedestal only had 50 amps on one side and it was already taken when we showed up. Wi-Fi and cable worked well. Power was a problem during the night with spikes above 132 volts which could damage electronics if you don’t have a surge/voltage protector. No credit cards, cash or checks. There is nothing wrong with this campground. The pull throughs are long and wide enough. I had to add 10' to my 20' sewer hose. There are concrete patios at the sites. Sometimes you have a nice mountain view. The staff is very helpful, and Dairy Queen is right next door. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Others have already written about the convenient location of the park for seeing the sights of Cody. A pool would be a nice addition in this heavily used, touristy park. The park has FHU, 60+ channel cable, WIFI. The new section of the park has 2 rows of about 30 pull-thrus in an open area. These sites were full during our stay due to a RV rally. We were lucky to get an acceptable site in the old section. As noted in some prior reviews, the old sites vary greatly in quality. Many are small, close together, have awkward utility placement, unlevel, etc. If you don't mind being in the open (sun, wind,etc.), try to get a site in the new sectio (sites 109-137). Most of the older sites are back-ins some of the the above mentioned problems. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park but sites are close. The staff are really helpful most of the time and occasionally go beyond expectations. WiFi poor reception and boots you off line frequently and staff were unable to correct the problem for the 8 days I was there unless I wanted to sit in the store to log on. We were parked about 500 ft from the store. They tend to water the sites for 6+ hours at a time without moving the sprinklers and the tables get soaked. The park is well located to most attractions. There are now two parts to this campground; the original section, which is attractive with many mature trees but quite cramped for big-rigs, and the new development, which has few trees and is mostly gravel but with good access and many pull-throughs – take your pick. This is a tight-packed campground in terms of space. BUT, the staff is outstanding, great little store, the place is kept quite clean, and there is some shade. I mention waterfront sites... those are for tents only on the Shoshone River behind the campground (down in the valley). We walked to downtown Cody and the Buffalo Bill Museums. A trolley is available, too, and comes into the campground. There are four driveway entrances to the CG. The main entry at the office can back up into the main street in the afternoon check-in rush, so be careful when entering at the main gate! We would camp here again. What a welcome thing to park in this park after spending one night in the nationally franchised park just east of Cody. I initially registered for one night, but when my wife saw the park she said to register for another night. The park is extremely well maintained. The grass is watered often and is well mowed and trimmed. The office staff is extremely accommodating and will do everything possible to make your visit to Cody enjoyable. This pull thru sites are adequately long for a large coach and toad however the sites are slightly closer together than I prefer but still they are larger than some parks I have been in. Be sure to check out the Attached Trading Post (owned by the same people). Very good quality merchandise, fairly priced. We will most definitely stay here again. I would caution anybody coming to Cody in the summer to call ahead for reservations or it might be Wal-Mart for the night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the perfect campground for visiting Cody. It's a 5 min walk to the Buffalo Bill Historic Center (5 museums in one). Campground is clean, quiet, easy access even for back-in sites. We have a 40 foot motorhome and got a back-in with canyon behind us & great views. Laundry is excellent--pricier because machines are all new front-loaders. Staff is relaxed & friendly & extremely helpful-even told me where best running routes are in town, & helped me secure campsite inside Yellowstone. Sites are close but not lacking in space or maneuverability. It would be a solid 10 if all sites were paved. They are all nice & level, and well packed gravel if not paved. Good Wi-Fi & cable. We stayed here for a month, and the nightly rate is derived at by dividing the monthly rate plus tax by 31 days. This is a good destination park for pre and post summer season stays, During the prime summer season this RV park would be very hard to find a place to turn your vehicle around in. Every bit of space, big or little is dedicated to RV's, tents, teepees, and cabins. Very close proximity to each camper. The staff was friendly and helpful. Actually too helpful as they spend 10 minutes or more with each new comer giving them generic information about all the places around town and Yellowstone Park and everywhere else weather they want to know it or not. Backs/holds up the check-in line forever. Makes it hard to go in after check-in and get any specific to your stay information. The cable TV and wifi worked good. The laundry was adequately sized for the number of sites. 10 new front loader washers and dryers. However, they were pricey. 1 large load to wash was $1.75 and cost $2.50 to dry. I would stay here again during the off season, but would not stay for more than 2 or 3 nights during the summer season. It would be too crowded. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ponderosa. First of all, the staff were REALLY friendly, and were always available to help out with whatever we needed. They were especially knowledgeable about all the things there are to do in the area (and there's LOTS!). They were even able to help us get reservations and tickets for several area activities we were interested in (the Rodeo, rafting, and the tram tour). The park itself is really nice. They have back-ins, pull-throughs, tenting sites, cabins, and even TiPis! Everything is very well maintained and clean. Our site was a pull-through with plenty of room for our 43' RV and tow car. I read several of the reviews here that complained about the WiFi access, but when we were there they had just completed an upgrade of the system (apparently, they listen to their customers!) and we had really good, strong signal. And our site was near the back of the park. We had a really great time, and will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

You have to be careful what site you get, because a lot of the hookups seemed to be on the wrong side for the RV. Would definitely recommend a visit to Cody, WY. We were disappointed with this park. With a big rig, we got a spot in the newer section which is really just a big gravel parking lot with mud holes and absolutely no landscaping. Water connection was so close to the ground that we could not connect regulator and hose without digging a small hole in the ground. Sewer connection was sunk down in a hole about a foot deep and difficult to reach. Sites are very close together. Bathroom facilities are inadequate and in need of modernization. RV washing is not permitted. We had been planning to stay for 4 nights but left after one night. Not recommended. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park, but I would not recommend it if you want Wi-Fi. We stayed here 4 nights and I could not get a Wi-Fi connection a single time. I walked all over the park trying to no avail. Everyone that I talked to had the same experience. One man said that he got on for a few seconds one afternoon. The folks that run the park were very nice, but seemed to be totally oblivious to the problem. Any time someone would mention the Wi-Fi problem to the office personnel, they would offer some new excuse. I depend on the Internet and will never stay here again. The sites are fairly close together, but the park is clean and well maintained. We had a level concrete pad with absolutely no problem backing onto. Hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable. Free shuttle to nightly rodeo. We stayed over the 4th of July and watched the city sponsored fireworks from a far corner of the campground. We selected this campground based on the other recommendations here. But we have one problem with it- super tight spots. Park is clean, staff is nice, walk to downtown is great. But you have to grease the sides of your rig to fit it in some of the spots. We have a 24' MH and could not fit into the first spot we tried. Take about 1/3 of the sites out and this would be a ten. Never did find the Wifi. They did get bonus points for deer wandering through the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were very pleased with this park. They definitely pack them in but the location to the town (you can walk to the museum and Walmart is a mile away) is second to none. Restrooms were great. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We stayed here on the way to Yellowstone. We picked this campground because it got such good reviews. I sure don't see why. The campground hosts were friendly, but the sites were very, very, very tight, and there was dust everywhere. A clean laundry. This campground says you can walk into town. Well: you can certainly walk to the Buffalo Bill Museum, but it would be a long walk into the rest of the town. And, I wouldn't call any of the sites shady. The trees were all in back of the campsites. On the way home, we stayed at another Cody park, which I liked much better. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I made reservations *six months* in advance for the July 4th holiday, paid the first night's deposit, and provided all the motorhome information required. When I arrived to check in, the desk had no record of the reservation or payment, but I had the confirmation letter. My rig is a 24' "widebody"; they first assigned me a completely unworkable (far too narrow and short with overhanging tree branches) site site with small camper vans and pop-ups. When I requested another site, they said that nothing was available because of the holiday (why did they think I reserved six months in advance?!), but they found a "site" wedged between a toyhauler and a larger rig; one of the hookups was in the playground about 20' behind this particular site! I got my money back and went to Absaroka Bay. The only "advantage" that I can see to this place is that it's fairly close to the museum and the downtown area; otherwise, in-campground navigation is difficult, the sites are small and very jammed together, and the management operation seems pretty haphazard at best. Ironically, some friends (same size rig) had called only a couple of days in advance for the same time period were assigned a decent site! (They later reported that the management had tried to find me after I left; they had "found" another site choice for me!) We camped here in a Motorhome.

A wonderful park very near to town. The owners are so helpful and pleasant. The sites are a little close together, but it doesn't feel crowded, maybe because of the trees in the park. Many sites have concrete pads. We camped on gravel with a concrete patio. Most sites look level. Very clean and well managed. Would definitely stay here again. They take checks or cash only, no credit cards. Their wifi is available in or near the office only, but there is city-wide wifi available for $6.95/day that works very well throughout the campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Seems like all the CG's in Cody are older and congested. This one is no exception. Sites are mostly grass or gravel with a few concrete pads. Utilities are scattered about. Site quality varies quite a bit but in general they are close together and need leveling. The main street in Cody curves around the outside of the park so there is some traffic noise, mostly in the daytime. Park staff friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here overnight before heading into Yellowstone. Campground is clean but is mostly gravel and is in downtown Cody. Staff is very friendly, sites are pretty close and no campfires allowed. Also plan accordingly as they do not accept credit cards. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We rated this park an 8 out of 10. There are a good number of nice sites, although they pack em in when they can. Thus, the main reason the lower rating. I don't enjoy campgrounds where RV's are placed just anywhere they can put them. The WIFI is available in the office only, which is ok with me. There is no pool. This is the nicest park in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wow, we got a brand new concrete pad that was absolutely stone level, and I was able to do some leveling for my rig. They are rehabbing a number of sites and they're really nice. This is within long walking distance (it's good for you) of the Cody Museums and downtown is a ball. There are a lot of things to do in the area and this is a good starting point. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We had a great time here in the spring. Management was very helpful as were the employees. They are located in town and close to all activities and restaurants. It is very quiet for an in town location. Their big rig area is very open and without trees around units. However the back-ins are grassed and a lot are shaded. They keep the restrooms and showers spotless. Will definitely camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If you're looking for a jumping off point to the East Gate of Yellowstone N.P. or trips to Cody, YVI is your place. If you're looking for a Campground experience, this is not it. Located behind the Yellowstone Valley Inn and cottages is their RV section. Campsites are gravel most with fire rings. No trees for shade, no dog run. Great views of the mountains and Shoshone River right along the edge of the campground. Bathroom/showers in individually doored units. Did not use swimming pool or hot tub, nor did we try the restaurant at YVI. Quiet location. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is certainly not a destination, but was fine for our purposes: to go into Yellowstone. The woman who took our reservation was not particularly accommodating and said we had to check in by 8:30 pm with no option for a later arrival. When traffic through Big Horn made our 8:30 pm arrival impossible, I called and got a much kinder person who said it was no problem. The pool was very small, but the kids did enjoy splashing around. The hot tub was fine: no chairs for around it. The view is beautiful from many of the sites on the far end of the park. We would likely try staying in Cody next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a good CG. There a couple of issues. First is that it is entirely gravel. Second, there way too many sites w/o sewers. The heated pool could stand a couple more degrees as could the hot tub. Now for the good news. While it is 18 miles from Cody, it is only 35 miles from Yellowstone. Great place to stay and visit both, especially since the rates are way less than CGs in the Yellowstone area. It has a restaurant and a bar. Overall this is a great place. The only reason I didn't give it a higher rating is that like way too many CGs the sites are laid out so that the afternoon sun is on the passenger side of the RV. Why? We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

At $46 (w/ taxes) per night it was hard to find the value at this RV Park. It has all the amenities like a swimming pool, hot tub, good Wi-Fi and full services. However it is right along the highway; the pool is actually about 20 feet from the highway. The website for this campground gives you the impression that it is quiet and secluded. The campground and sites are anything but with the campground and Inn very close to the highway and highway noise. This area attracts a high volume of motor cycles and so the noise from Harley bikes is quite noticeable both in the campground and from the highway. The showers and washrooms are OK but at the price for this campground I would expect much better. We had very friendly staff and very rude staff. The RV sites are placed in a large gravel parking lot, side by side, with no trees. Very few of the sites are along the river so there is a very good chance your view will be of your neighbors rig. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The staff was very nice on the phone and answered many questions. They did tell me that it was 30 minutes from the CG to the gate at Yellowstone, depending on the Bison (which he said clog up the roadway). In the week that we were here, we saw no Bison outside of the park. The views of the rock formations and mountains from the park were beautiful. The pool was a little cold and the spa was out of order. It was very windy most days. We saw one RV get its awing ripped off. I wouldn't come here to stay at the CG, but it's a good base for exploring Yellowstone and the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Awesome place: 18 miles to Cody, 32 miles to Yellowstone. All inclusive, an awesome restaurant, bar, don't forget the karoke! Family-oriented with large pool, clean private bathrooms and showers. We had a "end" spot, with a lot of hang out space, but other spots don't have as much space. Great place for 5-7 days. Plenty to do in Cody, there is a good Mexican restaurant called Zapatas, boot stores, antique stores, and don't miss the Dug Up Gun Museum. The Irma Hotel restaurant was okay, but great cute store. Of course go to Yellowstone, and the Beartooth and Chief Joseph Highway. (Take a picnic). We had a great time, you would not need to leave this park for anything. Would stay again, big rig friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We came here based on the video we saw on the internet. The owner was very personable and had a good knowledge of the area and things to do while here. The location was perfect, only 32 miles to the East entrance of Yellowstone National Park and 18 miles to Cody. We met the first night we checked in and he told us all about day trips to take. We ate there that night and had an excellent burger and steak fries while watching a football game on the big screen TV. We enjoyed a filling breakfast buffet the next morning and found the staff all extremely helpful and friendly for both meals. We had booked 2 nights and ended up staying a total of 6, the place was so perfect. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets, a lovely grassy area high above the river for our dog to exercise, friendly neighbors throughout the park, a clean laundry facility, and everything in the park worked well, including WI-FI. We will definitely be back here next year, Lord willing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

RV Park is clean and fairly well maintained. Saw leaks from some water hook-ups. No shade to speak of. I stayed with friends who had a rented Class C motorhome. Plenty of room at the sites, but I prefer sites more spaced out than these were. The staff was, for the most part, friendly and helpful. We watched TV in the bar, where we met the owner. He was helpful when we had questions, but later on he appeared glassy-eyed and drunk! He was at the bar most of the time we saw him. We also overheard him make a few crude remarks to a friend or employee by him, which was a turn-off. That's when we left the bar and bought beer to take back to our camper. The food was good and served hot and promptly. It's in a good location in a beautiful area. About an hour or less to Yellowstone's East Gate, and about 20 minutes to Cody, WY. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were here for 2 days and had a FHU site that was satellite friendly. There is no cable TV and we could get no stations over the antenna. The pool was small and did not seem to be heated as advertised. WiFi worked OK. The restaurant mentioned by many reviewers was a real disappointment. The breakfast buffet was cheap but mediocre. We found the dinner menu to be expensive: $15 for chicken fried steak! We settled for a buffalo burger that was undercooked with a pink interior and a mushy texture. I would not recommend using this (or any Cody RV parks) as a base for Yellowstone. It is too long a commute in my opinion. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here two weeks in an electric/water pull through as they didn't have full service available for our stay. Staff will bend over backwards to help you. Great restaurant w/ $4.99 all you can eat breakfast, and a Friday/Saturday prime rib special to die for. Only 20 miles to Cody and 30 miles to the east entrance of Yellowstone. Wind blew a lot, so be forewarned, of course this IS Wyoming. Portable Honey dipper will pump out anytime you need them to for a modest charge. Wi Fi worked great and we could still get our broadband reception. A little on the pricey side but being this close to Yellowstone, it really isn't too bad. We camped here in a Motorhome.

In our opinion, The best part of this park is its location relative to Yellowstone and it is reasonably priced. We too did ask if we could change sites and the staff quickly said it can't be changed. They said the reservation system doesn't allow them to make changes and it complicates other reservations. The pool is small, and we did not use the restaurant, but it looked nice. We stayed 2 nights and during the day we spent all day at Yellowstone. Be careful when you are in Yellowstone. Even though this is one of the closest CGs to the East entrance, you are about 1 1/2 hours from the Fishing Bridge intersection. We went through some time warp and didn't realize how late it was getting and we were in Mammoth Hot Springs about 9:00 at night. I don't think we got back until midnight. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great park, with the two most outstanding features being it's staff and the incredible location. I'm really at a loss to explain the comments of the last reviewer, as I did not find any of their comments to be true. The RV sites are wide and very easy to maneuver, all the connection boxes seemed new and each had a picnic table and fire ring. The pool was open and heated and the hot tub was clean and well maintained. The staff welcomed us and seemed eager to accommodate us in any way, (although we did not ask this totally full park to try and change our site as did the last reviewer). The view was spectacular in all directions and the restaurant had great food as well as an all-your-could-eat $4.99 breakfast buffet ($2.99 for the kids)! I loved this place and will definitely make it a for-sure stop on our next trip. It is in a perfect location, only 30 miles to Yellowstone and 19 miles to Cody. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The RV Park is not top priority of this property. The restaurant and bar are. Has adequate amenities, but don't ask for anything. The staff/hosts "cannot change sites in computer." The pool was "not ready for season" nor "heated." The water use in park is limited, laundry is used by the staff everyday. You will have to wait because they are so busy. The staff dogs are allowed to roam free while yours must be on leash. The staff has "open range" on your RV site, if you use WiFi too long, the host will cut you off. Staff isn't friendly or happy. The price reflects Passport America, W/E 30A hookup. We wanted a 50A with sewer but were told none were available for Passport America. When we arrived there were 50A available. Go figure!! For the Passport price this was o.k. but they wanted to charge $6 to dump. We didn't. Will dump at the next park. This park is 18 mi. west of Cody in a beautiful Shoshone River valley. The sites are well laid out and adequate. There is an indoor hot tub but on this cold rainy day, changing rooms would be welcomed. The outdoor pool wasn't open yet. The lodge/restaurant is pleasant looking. The laundry is small and one washer was broken. We camped here in a Motorhome.

YVI & RV Park requested that I write a "NICE" review upon my checkout. I have a feeling that some of the recent reviews online are "Ringers." RVParkreviews is my only reference for locating quality RV Parks and I am grateful. So, I realize that RV Park owners highly value this site too. Overall, I feel that I received a good deal and fair treatment at this park; though I want to point out that I choose RV parks based on ratings, then price. If a park accepts a 50% discount camping plan, that is secondary and an added bonus. I'm often reluctant to use PPA as I sense the negative reaction of RV Parks when I ask about using PPA and don't feel as welcome at the parks. I'd like RV Park owners to note that we all want to be 100% welcome even if we are paying 50% the price. YVI does a pretty good job for a new RV Park. I was here early in the season and the restaurant was not yet open. The PPA site shows that they accept PPA for 2 nights on W/E AND Full hook-ups, though they would not book me into a FHU with my PPA discount, even though they were not busy, but they did NOT charge me $5 to dump. I think that all of the W/E sites are 30 amp only, but have nicer views and are larger than the FHU sites. The park gets 2nd prize for worst water pressure which took about 1 minute to kick in and they request no use of personal washer/dryers. The laundry is good, but could be nicer. Very low water pressure
here too and almost no hot water. True, they are 30 miles from Yellowstone, but it is another 27 miles from here to the Lake and almost 100 miles each way to the main geyser basins. Because of this, I would not choose to stay here as a base camp for visiting Yellowstone. If you can bare being without power, many campgrounds within the park are very nice, or there is another nice RV park in West Yellowstone much closer to the attractions. I just spent 2 weeks and enjoyed the friendly people and great setting. Provides easy access to the east gate of Yellowstone and Cody is near by. Great bar & grill in the park. I had a great Mother's Day buffet dinner at the restaurant. I plan to be back next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed 2 nights before going on to Yellowstone. The grounds were clean, all gravel. The pull through site was close, but plenty long for our 27’ TT and 20’ truck. The restrooms / showers were private and clean. he staff was very helpful and efficient. It was easy to maneuver our RV. The scenery is great. About 15 miles to Cody and about 30 miles to Yellowstone. Our rate for 4 people was $44.00 the first night and $37.00 the second, I don’t know why. We would stay again when in the area. This is a fine park, conveniently located between Cody and Yellowstone. It's not luxurious: there is no grass anywhere as it's basically a gravel parking lot with hookups. The sites could be farther apart. On the other hand they're angled so that you aren't looking in your neighbor's window. They do have a pool and a hot tub, although we didn't use them. We had breakfast one day in the restaurant (with our discount coupons) and it was fine but we didn't eat there any other time. The scenery is beautiful and even though it's on the highway it's pretty quiet. We'd probably stay here again if we were going into Yellowstone from this direction, since the drive is a short one. They take Passport but not for full hookups, so it's pricey, but so is everything in this area. We didn't have any trouble with the Wi-Fi. The prior poster's problem must have been a temporary one. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Yellowstone Valley RV Park is a good place to park if you don't want want to pull the grades in Yellowstone with your rig. Features include a full service restaurant. We stayed a week. Sites are level and gravel. Scenic location. Our first complaint is the wireless ... park advertises free wifi, but we were lucky to be online a few minutes daily. When we complained, staff reported the issue was "being addressed". Second complaint is the dump station. It is locked, and you have to retrieve the key from the office to dump. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

It is conveniently located between Cody and Yellowstone National Park. It is on the highway but quiet. Beautiful setting surrounded by rolling hills. We had a reservation in Cody to stay at the Parkway RV Park but after checking in and hooking up the power, our hardwired surge protector (Progressive Industries) wouldn't allow the power into the coach. This happens sometimes and we've gotten use to it. So, we called around and found this park which is quite a ways from Cody, I'd guess it to be about 18 miles. There were quite a few sites available so I inquired about using our Passport America. She said no problem except there were no full hookups available. Ended up with 50 amp and water which was just fine. Had a good WIFI connection along with a good signal for our cell phone, Aircard and Satellite since there aren't any trees. Beautiful views in all directions and the park was very quiet at night. The pool which we didn't use looked nice but we thought it was odd to locate it by the highway. Maybe it's a way to draw families in with children. Hubby used the laundry facilities and he said they were clean and I believe he said there were 4 machines. This was a good overnight stop for us and we would return if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice place to stay between Cody and Yellowstone. Sites are pull through and easy access. Some side to side leveling is required and some of the sites get pretty muddy when it rains. No shade, but a nice breeze comes through the valley. Didn't have to run the A/C at all during the day and nights were cool and comfortable. The heated pool was nice and the indoor hot tub was very welcome after a day hiking around Yellowstone. The saloon and restaurant were very good and as a guest you get tickets for a discount on the full breakfast buffet. Very scenic view of the mountains outside your windows. Rate shown is Passport America rate with tax. I would definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Most sites are pull through and are long enough for big rigs. All sites are gravel...A little grass here and there. There is a nice restaurant that is busy on site as well as a motel. They are new log construction. The view from all the sites is fantastic. There is a heated pool and a hot tub. The only negative is that many sites do not have sewer. Good 50 Amp electric. We would definitely stay here again...convenient to Cody and much nicer than the CG's we saw within Cody, not to mention less costly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy access in and out of, but it's all gravel which meant when it rained; and it rained every day we were here, it was a muddy mess getting in and out of the motorhome or walking the dog. No shade, but beautiful mountain views and a river running alongside it. Halfway between Yellowstone and Cody, so location was good, restaurant was nice and well priced. Would stay here again. I stayed one night at this RV park between Cody & the east entrance of Yellowstone. It was late and I was desperate. The rate of $40 seemed high. I had identified myself as a Passport member but was told they didn't offer those rates during high season or when they were more than 90% filled. It was almost dark so I took the space with a Good Sam's 10% discount. Later I went in to eat at their restaurant and by chance I was standing waiting to use the ladies room, which was next to the Registration Desk, when I heard the person on duty chatting. He was 'training' another reservationist and said he had to call the owner of the neighboring park, Green Creek, to check with him to see if they were offering PA rates that evening: something they do on a regular basis. The owner at Green Creek must have asked what they were doing, as the YVI reservationist told him the owners didn't want PA in their resort. They could get 'top $$' if they waited and so were telling PA members they were 90% full and therefore didn't have to take us. I could never recommend this resort: not only for their underhanded treatment of PA members, but the restaurant's service was awful, the food was not good and the shower rooms were filthy: with several of the toilets backed up. Oh, and their advertised Wi-Fi was on the fritz! Certainly not worth $40 a night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is supposed to be a Passport America Park one-half price RV park, but when we arrived, we were informed that since they are so full that they are not accepting the Passport America rates. If they are in the Passport America Book, they should honor the rates regardless of occupancy demand. Due to the false advertising, I will not stay here again or recommend any of our Passport America Friends ot this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We thoroughly enjoyed this park. I waited until the last minute to make reservations and all they had left was just water and electric, but when I got there there was a full hookup site the next day so they allowed us to move. We were parked right next to the Shoshone River and it was beautiful and very loud but we loved it. The scenery all around us was beautiful and it even snowed while we were there. The park was clean the sites weren't too close together. We would definitely stay there again We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a large gravel parking lot and the wind blew hard the whole time we were there. There really isn't any place to take your pets to do their business. The office was not always staffed so we had difficulty trying to find a time when it was open. It is convenient to Yellowstone Park. We ate one meal in the dining room and it was a great meal but not a great atmosphere. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here several days while visiting Yellowstone NP. This seems like one of the closest private RV parks with full hookups to the NP. We loved it. The sites were level and very wide. We had no trouble with the hookups. There was a nice little pool and a spa. The spa was great after a long day in the NP. The campground itself is very quiet and seems to be right up on the mountains and the Shoshone River. The staff were very knowledgeable when we needed help finding groceries and an RV parts store. The other guests were friendly too. It would be a perfect "10", except all of the sites are gravel. My guess is it's too difficult to grow any grass is such a dry climate without tons of sprinklers, so everything is gravel and the area is a bit dusty. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one big gravel parking lot with cabins and motel rooms mixed in with the RV sites. When a wind came along dust was everywhere. Two redeeming factors: the view of the mountains and river are great and a good location close to Cody and Yellowstone. The breakfast buffet was a good deal, but the dinners were high priced - worth a trip back into Cody if you want to eat out. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Located 45 to 55 minutes from Yellowstone and 20 minutes from Cody, this is a good RV park for the area. All gravel, level sites offer 30/50/15 amp, along with water and sewer. No cable, only local TV that we could just see using our antenna, and no Wi-Fi [but internet was available in the office]. This has a group of cabins along with a restaurant and bar associated with the campground. Without a doubt it is family friendly. The spaces are large and can take care of any large rig [ours is a 40' DP w/toad]. If I wanted to stay in Cody - there are a couple in town, and if I wanted Yellowstone, I would stay there - but for something between the two, and something for a night or two, this is a good choice. Sure we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Passport America Park. Flat hard ground sites, easy pull throughs, good electric power, and water was good. Will be sure to stay here again if in this area. Easy drive to Yellowstone East Gate and also short drive to Cody. Be sure to visit the Buffalo Bill Museum Complex. Very interesting. Came in over Route 16 over the Big Horn Mountains and went out going North out of Cody and avoided the high pass roads on Route 14. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice campground; it has flat level, hard sites, with easy hookups. We had a back-in site, but there was plenty of room to get it done. The sites were wide and the campground was quiet. The staff was courteous and competent. The Shoshone River runs behind the park, and it has a panoramic view of the mountains. It is about midway between Cody and the east entrance to Yellowstone. The laundry was closed because the leech bed collapsed and they were awaiting permits to install a new one. The restaurant was nothing to brag on, but they did serve a good sturdy breakfast buffet. I would camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed at the Yellowstone Valley Inn for the last three summers. Each time we travel to Wyoming from Florida, we make sure to include this wonderful campground in our plans. The host and owner, makes you feel right at home. He has spent numerous hours making this campground and lodge full of amenities for their guests. The food in the resaurant is excellent with two great chefs who prepare delicious meals with superb presentation. The lounge and bar area feature nightly local entertainment who are most talented. Their Disk Jockey, makes everyone feel at home and is a very talented entertainer and singer himself. The campground itself if very clean and features an indoor jacuzzi room as well as an outdoor heated pool. I highly recommend that you include the Yellowstone Valley Inn in your plans the next time you visit Cody, Wyoming. We travel in a motohome pulling a trailer and had no trouble getting into a more than ample space. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We paid for 3 nights and did not stay any of them for the following reasons: Dog walk area was nothing more than a 4 foot strip with weeds and glass (when I called was told they had a really nice dog area - this is very important to us having 3 large dogs), the wifi did not work in our spot (we were told on the phone it was available) and they were further out of town then accepted. The staff left us waiting for quite awhile. We left and stayed in town at the Ponderosa. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The views of the hills and mountains are quite enjoyable. Staff is friendly and courteous. There are also a restaurant and lounge on-site which we did not try. Park is basically a large gravel lot with hookups. Sites are level but very narrowly spaced and short for larger rigs. This was OK with our 37' trailer as there were only two other rigs there in early October, but would be quite tight when the place is full. Had to park our truck beside the trailer. Good strong signal with Verizon cell phone; no trouble with our satellite internet. Good midway location for exploring both Cody and Yellowstone. Takes about 30 minutes to get to the Yellowstone east entrance. The scenery along the way on US-16 is gorgeous. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is new but not fully finished yet. It is nothing more than a large gravel lot with minimal trees and vegetation. Sites are large and fit most RVs. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Scenery was the highlight of our 2 night stay. I would stay there again for a short stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We met the new owners and he explained all the work they had done relaying the old park into a new one that can handle today’s big rigs. They have 57 sites. 38 pull thru water and electric and 19 full hookups. The park is located in high desert so water and grass growing are at a premium. Thus, they used road base for all the nice wide roads and pads and decorative rock for patio areas. The sites are designed to park tow behinds next to the RV’s which works fine. There is a brand new bathhouse with individual family style bathrooms including one handicap access and they used tank less water heaters so there’s always plenty of hot water. They built a brand new in ground heated pool and turned the old pool house into an indoor hot tub room. Their restaurant is fantastic with a breakfast-lunch chef and a dinner chef. They have a saloon and banquet room with a stage where they sing and dance nightly. There are no trees due to the high desert location but there’s no humidity or mosquitoes either. The 360 degree mountain views are to die for and there is a trail head for hiking about 150 yards west of the campground. If you like to fish, horse ride or river raft this is the place to come. World class trout fishing and 13 dude ranches between the YVI and Yellowstone with gorgeous trails. It was nice to go to sleep every night listening to the Shoshone River which borders the property. This is truly a nice quiet rural setting when you are visiting Cody or Yellowstone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The views were beautiful and the campground was quiet although quite full when we visited in a pop-up camper. The restrooms were not in good shape, but they were in heavy use. We had to wait to shower. There was no grass or shade, but the night was cool. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This campground is about halfway between Cody and the east entrance to Yellowstone. We were one of a very few campers as the east entrance to the park had been recently closed due to forest fires. You have a beautiful view of mountains on all
sides. There isn't any shade and it's pretty much dirt but if you're a Coast to Coast member it's a GNP so the cost is reasonable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
