Even with the somewhat negative review in earlier post we were tired and decided to check it out. We found several RV'rs parked along the curb across from hotel. There were large shade trees and for the first time not staying in an rv park we felt very safe here. The grill inside had delicious hamburgers and fries. The truck stop was over a ways so although you could hear trucks it didn't keep us awake at night. We chose not to run the generator so it was a little warm during the night. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
NOISE! This park is free for RV's parked in the first couple rows. There are no hookups - just parking. The parks are scarce through this part of the interstate and the ones we found we would not stay in. So we parked here. We would stop here for the shops, but never stay here again. Trucks coming in and out all night could not be muffled even with our generator and A/C running. Very loud. The restaurant serves canned/boxed/frozen food. Nothing fresh or from scratch. But the breakfast rolls were great if you get in early (5AM). We were awake anyway. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We went into the Motel/Restaurant to inquire how much we would need to pay to just dry camp overnight. To our surprise, they told us just to pull-in where the other RV's were and we could dry camp free for the night. Not much in this part of Wyoming, so we decided to just dry camp and not unhitch our tow vehicle. To show our appreciation, we decided to go in and have supper at the restaurant. It was excellent. The special was trout, potatoes, fresh cooked vegetables, salad, or clam chowder. We decided to have the daily "special" and it was marvelous. Real mashed potatoes, home-made clam chowder, and super fresh salad. If you have room, you get a free cone of ice cream. For two meals, we only paid $25 plus a tip. It is a busy place, but since the staff was so friendly, we would stay again in this remote part of Wyoming. Glad we did, as it was an adventure and like a small oasis in the desert. We camped here in a Motorhome.
