The sites were sort of level. Took some work. Host could have had on a happy face but chose not to. The Wi-Fi was very very poor. Couldn't get anywhere on the net. Like all KOA's you didn't get your money's worth. KOA's are typically $10-$15 higher than comparable places. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Arrived in Rawlins well after dark and left early the next morning. No problems getting in and out and no negatives as far as I could see. You are pretty well out in the open exposed to the winds, but so is everything else in that part of Wyoming. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice stopover in Rawlins. Very accommodating. Sites were fairly level. Restrooms and showers were clean. Staff was very nice and helpful. We would stop here again for one night. Nice play set for kids. No pool but looked like they were adding one? We camped here in a Motorhome.

A decent overnight stop. Staff was VERY helpful and pleasant. They'll loan you a power extension if needed. Lots of families camping here for the weekend, but I was an over nighter passing through. No shade, but nice views of the hills. Roads are gravel but decently maintained. Same for sites. Sloping ground means some leveling usually needed, but not extreme. I'd stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We blew into camp in front of a 30-50 mph west wind. The campground is dry and dusty, but has good sites. We had no problem getting level. The pull through site was long which was good because I had to back up to get close enough to the sewer connection for my hoses to connect. This is a good stopping place if you're crossing Wyoming on I-80, given the other options we found. We would stop here again. Wi-Fi and cable were the best we've encountered. Which is good because we weren't going to brave the wind to unhook the car and go find a restaurant for Father's day dinner. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is your very basic KOA. Bathrooms/showers were clean and in good condition. The rows of graveled sites are somewhat close together. The access roads to each site is also gravel. Sites are all nowhere close to being level so bring extra blocks. This was the first time we used nearly all our blocks to get level. One motorhome with auto-leveling jacks had to use blocks under his jacks since he was so un-level the jacks did not have enough reach. Another note is the park is up on an exposed hill and the wind is constant all day and all night. The wind rocked us to sleep. Next morning the wind was as strong as ever. This KOA is fine for one night stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Staff was not very friendly but seemed to do what was needed to get the job done. Spots were average size and Rawlins has an outstanding Thai Restaurant. Would almost come back here just for that: excellent food at good prices. This is a good place to stop for the night when traveling east or west along I-80. It's less than a quarter mile from the interstate exit so you get some road noise. The campground itself is your standard KOA with gravel roads and sites and a sprinkling of small trees. Nothing special, but nothing unexpected either. Restrooms were very clean and everything worked as it should. Cable TV and Wi-Fi were first rate. Would stay here again when passing through. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We reserved a "deluxe" spot since our unit would supposedly only fit in the "extra long" spots. Had to unhook as the site was not long enough and park in front of rig, a real hassle for an overnight stop. Office staff not surly, but indifferent and not at all talkative. Pool not in service in mid July. Would stop here again if in the area, but would try to not have to. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I don't see this as a destination park, since there are not a lot of attractions in the area that I am aware of. It's a good place to stop for the night when traveling east or west along I-80. As such, I appreciate that it's less than a quarter mile from the interstate exit. The campground itself is your standard KOA with gravel roads and sites and a sprinkling of small trees. Nothing special, but nothing unexpected either. The only slight problem I had was that I wanted to stay hitched up for a quick exit in the morning and the electrical plug on the back of my fifth wheel wouldn't reach the post near the front of the campsite without pulling forward a foot or so into the road. Other than that, the site was level enough and the Wi-Fi worked fine. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were looking for a stop with a pool. We checked in 2 different cities and the other one has never had any trouble with their pool. One campground told us there was a part on order and it would be fixed in a few days. We're pretty sure it was this one. When we got there, the pool had been broke for a long time and the owners kind of looked at each other when I asked about it. The price is for a Water/Electric site. Like most KOA's, it's simply overpriced. The owners were not rude, but not very friendly, either. We got no escort to our site. Their extended family was using one of the common areas and they were less than friendly. They kept giving us irritated looks and locking the door behind us. They had no problem opening it when one of them came, but we had to continue to circle around the other side of the building to get back in. The Cable is very poor quality. The WiFi is one you have to give a credit card to get the "free" period and who knows what happens if you don't cancel. We did not use this. The air card and cell phone worked fine. We stayed here on the way out and on the way back 2 weeks later. Don't know if we would have been able to cancel the reservation or not. The credit card was billed several weeks earlier when the reservation was made. No place else in Rawlins has a pool, so if that's important, stop in a different town. Overall, I would choose someplace else next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A new KOA, three years old. A little to close to the interstate. Paid for a Deluxe site 30/50 and was put into a 30 AMP site. Requested a new site. Be sure you ask for a 50 AMP site. Outstanding TV Cable. It had over 60 channels including ScFi and Program Guide. Distractions were unlevel site both times: had to use three tiers of blocks to level Left/Right. Tables needed to be re-stained. Long term residents look like Hoovervilles. Owners were friendly, but a little resentful when I asked for a new site, pointing out dog waste at the first site. I had to back my fiver into the road so I could build my ramp and was told I had to move forward. ?? We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The RV park advertises free Wi-Fi But, it was so slow that it was unusable. A download speed test showed it to be equivalent to dial-up. A call to the provider's technical support confirmed the very slow speed. A phone call to the camp promised a heated pool. The pool was not open when we arrived. After a very long delay, the pool availability almost gone for the evening, the pool was finally opened. But, it was not heated as claimed, or the heating system was inadequate. The water was very cold. Attitudes of the owner/staff were very cold and unfriendly. It made us feel unwelcome from the outset. I have stayed in KOA campgrounds before and the experience was pleasant. However, I must recommend against this one. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for a quick overnight stop only. We arrived late and were told we had already checked in and that our campsite had been given away. This occurred even though we had paid for and confirmed everything earlier that afternoon. The owners were helpful and found an alternate site, but it lead me to believe things are not as organized as they could be. If there had not been a site available for us, so late at night - we would have been in a bind for sure. The showers were clean but lacked proper ventilation and so were hot, wet and steamy. We waited for some time for showers at 7AM which was made worse by the fact that one was out of order. We camped here in a Motorhome.

For the Western part of Wyoming, this is a very nice campground and a welcoming place to stay after a long day on the road. The pool was very clean and nice along with the loungers. The playground looked kid friendly, and they had plants and flowers in pots here and there. Our site had a neat fenced picnic table as this part of the country has some fierce winds. We loved this KOA, and will stay again when passing through. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The Rawlins KOA is an average campground in our opinion. It filled our need for a one night stop over. As usual, we find the KOA pricing steeper than other campgrounds of the same caliber. This is a nice enough campground. We only stayed one night so we didn't look at any of the facilities. It was clean but a bit close to the freeway. The noise was not terrible but it was there. The sewer hook up was one we had not encountered before. It didn't have threads to screw the water hose on. It looked like you just would push the hose down or needed a expandable type. The power tower was to far forward in the drive through. We had to pull forward in the site and park behind the fifth wheel. The cable TV was good as well as the Wi-Fi. It was fairly level. We would stay there again We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The office and laundry buildings look brand new as does the fencing. The check in staff was very pleasant and escorted us to our site. The roads and pads are all gravel and the sites are pretty level. We only used electrical hook ups and cable TV, both worked very well. We would certainly stay here the next time we pass through. We stopped here just for the night. There is easy access to I-80 although there was little highway noise. The site was level with adequate room allowing the toad to remain hitched. It is a nice touch having windscreen around the picnic table. There are practically no trees or shrubbery (or grass for that matter). The pool was small and kept covered due to wind blowing dust and dirt all over. There are very friendly people at the desk. We had good connections and good wi-fi. It is not a destination campground, although there were a few seasonal campers, but fine for the night. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great for an overnight stop but would not want to hang around any longer than that as it is as others have said a bit like a parking lot. Clean and well maintained campground. Just passing through, and it was easy to get to off the interestate. New park, only about 10 years old and well maintained, but the area doesn't have much to offer. Kids kept busy at the pool and small playground, but the gameroom was a table, two chairs and a foosball table. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very rustic campground, very close to the interstate. All rock spots with little to no privacy between pads. Office help was great to advise on local restaurants etc. This campground is ok for a overnight stay but not much to look at or do in the area. Owner made up in enthusiasm in what he was lacking in business. Looked like we were only campers in park. Nevertheless, greeted cordially. Park in desert setting with lots of dirt and gravel with splotches of snow here and there. Near I-80 and easy to find. During night wind came up with a vengeance reminding me of a California earthquake. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We parked here during one of their "Windy" nights. The wind was 20-30mph. Our 5er would rock when the gusts hit. We were in spot #12 and the WI-FI did not reach our spot. Only 4 rows from the office. Cable was great. This was a 1 night stop over on our way home after a 5 week vacation. I would stay there again. However, I am not sure I will ever drive through Wy. again. Too windy. Located next to Interstate. Our pull-through site was very uneven, gravel/rock base. Staff was not overly friendly. We did not unhook for the night. Glad there was no fee for Wi-Fi, we were not able to connect. Having stayed at several KOA's along the way, this one was a little disappointing, and would get the lowest rating all around. The other reviews pretty much cover it, but, I give it a bit more credit - an "A" for effort! One of the better KOA's. This area of Wyoming is not noted for great RV parks. This KOA is trying very very hard. The place is spotless (my mother would approve), people are super nice, and it's convenient. Yes, there is a lot of road noise and the roads are gravel (about an 8 on a 1-10 scale). It's not a destination, but a very good, clean and safe place for a stop over. I would return. As with most campgrounds on the I-80 Interstate, freeway noise is something to put up with.
And although basically an austere campground, little trees, gravel sites, the current managers (a couple from Texas) were most friendly and helpful. Most facilities new and restroom/showers very clean and well maintained. Wind screens at tent sites (much appreciated) are indicative of notorious Wyoming winds. This KOA has community kitchen (sheltered with picnic tables, sinks and stoves) are useful to tent campers or goups. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

What a customer friendly CG. If all businesses were run like this business the world would be a wonderful place. Customers are Number One and it shows. The front desk was courteous and helpful above many other CGs I have visited. You are driven to your site and everything is pointed out and the last thing the employee asks is there anything else he can help you with. This area of Wyoming is barren of vegetation, dusty, and windy so you won't see a lot of grass and trees but this CG does the best it can given the location. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an interesting campground to write about. We have been here about 4 years ago and on the surface it looks like this campground has gone down hill. The interior roads have large potholes and need another layer of gravel and asphalt. The sites are on gravel, but they also need more gravel. The overall appearance does not look good but the office, laundry room and bathrooms are very clean. The bathroom fixtures have been updated but it still looks old. There are 4 washers ($1.75) and 4 dryers ($1.75 – don’t know the number of minutes). The office has a surprising number of items that an RVer would want such as sewer hoses, 50 to 30 amp plugs, etc. You have the option of having a site with full hookup, water and electric, electric only, or dry camping. In addition you also have the option with the full hookup to have cable or not. The voltage was good. Verizon air card worked well along with our Verizon cell phone. WiFi is also available but we did not use it. Pull-thrus and back-in sites are available. There was some freeway and train noise. There are a large number of long term residents in this park. Since the sites are fairly tight it is probably hard to keep their sites tidy. We would probably come back here if were in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I am rating this as a 10 despite the dirt roads and the bit of road noise due to the wonderful reception we received when we checked in. This is the most friendly place we have ever been. They give you a great brochure listing things to see and do in the area, people you can trust to fix your RV, and restaurants. We opted to talk to some people in the park and go out to dinner rather than see the sights. They have an air compressor they will loan you for your tires. The sites are all pull through. We do not use the public bathrooms or laundry so I cannot rate them. I will recommend this place to others and will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy after hours check in. Sites were level, gravel. Power was good. Restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. This park is pretty barren, ok for an overnight. Right next to busy highway with lots of noise. A reviewer states that the park you have to pass on the way looks better: no way. If you have to stop in Rawlins, this is the best park by far. We didn't have any interaction with staff, but when they passed, we got a wave and a smile. Nice for a place to stop in the middle of nowhere, but not a vacation spot. Nice, level, good-sized sites. All pull-through, with options for full hookups or not. The prices differed a bit depending on the options. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The campground is not especially scenic, although the surrounding hills present a nice view. It is simple and straight-forward location with very clean, hot showers having lots of water pressure. This is a campground that is very convenient to I-80. There is some road noise, however, and it is noticeable, although not enough to bother us inside the trailer. This is fine for an overnight stay for us. Wi-Fi was free but not the best signal. The prices are good and we would certainly stay there again when passing through this area. We have stayed here in the past as a stopover on a journey down I-80. The park is located fairly close to the freeway with easy on and off. It is not much to look at ,and the park has a large number of permanent residents. However, those units are in good repair, so it is not an issue. Roads were gravel. Sites are fairly small and were covered with gravel. Utilities were good, but our site did not have a sewer connection. We did not use the showers or restrooms. We did not use the cable connection. Freeway noise was present, but not a problem for us. We would stay here again, but only for a night. Due to its proximity to I-80, the park does fill up in the evening. Good for one night stop over, due to the traffic noise. Very friendly hosts who helped us find the site in the dark, which was necessary since not much light around the park. Internet was good, just a little hard to access because you have to sign in and setup password etc. We got in late, skipped the cable option, and went to sleep. This is an older park, but for a one night stop was fine. There is a little highway noise, and a train in the distance. The park staff is the best. The hookups were very good. Sewer at the site is optional, we did not have one, but there is a dump station. There is a great laundry room, nice appliances. Parking is easy, all gravel, a few patches of grass. This is a good stop on I-80 and we now prefer it to the dusty park next door. Both are noisy since the highway is close-by. Sites are gravel, fairly level but the hookup locations were a challenge. Rawlins isn't a destination but more of a stopping point close to Interstate 80 whilst you're on-route to somewhere pretty. That being said, this park absolutely serves its purpose. The proximity to the freeway is great but far enough away from it that the noise isn't obtrusive. You do hear the far off sound of the big rigs going past and the odd distant train but again this isn't a bad thing and could almost be described as soothing. The pull throughs were great but be very careful as the water pressure is insane!!! Make sure you have a regulator!!! No sewer hook-up, but they do let you dump on the way out. Showers and toilets were immaculate and the staff were superb. Kids liked the little park, and the pet area was good for the dogs. As a quick stop-off this place is great with fantastic facilities at a superb price. I'd definitely stop here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here one night on the way home. The lady at checkin was extremely friendly and helpful. Her husband guided my husband into our site and made sure everything was ok. It was. We stayed here for two nights as we had been doing one nighters for 3 nights. This campground has extremely friendly staff and the cleanest laundry and restrooms we've seen for a while. This is an old KOA that still needs a lot of TLC. Sites are pull through, fairly level gravel/dirt; no grass to speak of. Because of the lack of grass the high Wyoming winds caused the biggest dust storm we've seen in two months, and we were even in KS 60 mph winds! Although it's close to the highway road noise isn't too bad; the worst is the train noise (all of Wyoming seems to be this way). Even though there are a lot of good things about this campground, we probably would not stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

All utilities excellent, strong Wi-Fi and tons of cable channels. Bathrooms spotless. Nice RV and goodies store inside. High water pressure which you are warned about. Sites level. Lacks eye appeal (no shade trees, some grass growing up through rocky parking surface, picnic tables deteriorating, etc), but the benefits surpass any issues. Nice gravel with some grass off highway park. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. On arrival they give you treats for your dogs and mints for your pillow. Nice touch. For a one night, on-the-road stay, this park is perfect. It's an older, somewhat nondescript park in good repair (still better than the vast, paved parking lots of many Arizona parks). Some highway noise but not annoying. The owners are VERY friendly and helpful - even dog treats for the dogs and mints for your pillows. There is a large off-leash dog run. VERY pet friendly, which is important to us. A small, well stocked store with the essentials. The Wi-Fi (Tango) worked very well. The cable TV (60 channels) is superb. There are apparently permanent residents but not eyesore level. We'd stay here again. Customer service goes a LOOONG way when you're dealing with travelers, and these folks understand that. Oh: high pressure water. Have a water regulator OR fill your fresh water tank and use the pump. That's what we did, as we didn't have a water regulator, which they do advise. The rate is for electric only. Pool was closed, laundry, showers and toilets weren't working. Luckily I didn't need any of them. Strictly an overnight stop. A park next door looked better but I missed the drive way and was too tired to turn around. Management was polite and friendly though. Of course Rawlins isn't a destination place unless you have friends or relatives in the state prison. However, if you're here be sure to take a tour through the old prison - a real eye opening dungeon. Looks nice from the outside but the inside is baaaad! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our first night in the RV on a 12 day trip, plus we were new to the RV lifestyle. When we pulled in after hours without reservations, the available spots were designated with rates on envelopes...it was pretty easy to find a site and pull on it. Hookups were plentiful...just a lot of gravel without grass. The bathrooms were okay...nothing spectacular but usable. The ladies and kids decided to stay in the RV and use the RV shower vs use the public restroom. I used the men facilities and found them to be okay. Light traffic noise and train noise, but we soon found out this is pretty common at most RV sites along I-80 going west. The train was 1/2 mile away with the interstate between it and the campground. This is an overnight park and not a resort. We were greeted by some of the nicest and friendliest staff members that really try to make this a successful park. There is very good Verizon cell-phone and Mi-Fi service and all of the sites are satellite friendly. There are numerous price ranges and many discounts available. Roads are rough and graveled as are the sites, but the utilities seem to be good although the water pressure is high. I-80 is nearby but noise was not a problem for us. This was just an overnight stop for us as we traveled across southern Wyoming. The lady who checked us in was extremely friendly and even gave us complementary mints for our pillow. The site wasn't the most even we've run into and if walking around at night, use care. There were a number of ground squirrel or prairie dog holes in our site, and I nearly turned my ankle on one when I went out to the truck after dark. The indoor pool was closed when we were there. A number of the sites are used by full timers and some are a little rough looking. You shouldn't have any problem finding the park if you're coming in from exit 211. The park is located north of I-80 and is visible from business 30. We came in from exit 215 to the east so we could stop at the only grocery store in Rawlins before going to the park. If there was a sign on Business 30 telling us to turn right on 23rd street to get to the RV park, we both blinked at the same moment and missed it. We didn't see the park (and neighboring Western Hills RV Park) until after we missed the turn but fortunately just before we got back on the freeway. As it is, we had three options -- make a U-turn on business 30, go through the parking lot of a small cafe and over a steep driveway, or get back on the freeway and drive 15 miles to the next exit and turn around. We selected going through the parking lot and it turned out fine with our rig but we try to avoid those situations. Noise from the freeway was present but not that bad. We've certainly stayed in noisier. All in all, the price is right for a no-frills overnight stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a great place for a quick overnight. Rawlins is in high desert; limestone, flint, and scrub: don't expect lush lawns. This campground caters to oil field workers, but we had no problems getting a spot last minute on a Saturday night. It is surprisingly quiet thanks to a 10pm to 7am "Quiet Time". You’re in a desert, so you wouldn’t expect grass; you would expect a bit more space though. Their sites are long enough for any rig, but way too narrow. We got our slides out but the awning would have been up against our neighbor's slide. What’s worse, their sewer connection was a foot from our entry steps. If this is the only place to stay, stay. Otherwise, there are two other better options in town. Sites are long, but very narrow, three quarter crushed rock. The picnic table had to sit parallel in order to fit between the sites. Lots of permanent tenants live here. We were a little scared when they knocked on the door to ask our kids to play. The office was under construction, but still okay. Employees were nice and helpful. The playground was not up to code. The pool was closed and had been for a while. The mini golf area was full of red biting ants. It sounded like the new owners were going to upgrade in the near future. I hope they do for the sake of their business. We were very disappointed when we stayed at R.V. World. We were told the pool would be open and ready to use time we pulled in.(By phone) But it never opened due to some new guidelines. The new people running the place in May and June. They had a open sewer line, just covered by a large orange cone. Trash all over the sites. Would never water the so called grass.(weeds) When they left due to health issues and a gentleman took over, for the winter season. That was a big mistake he was never there. We would have to call so we could get change to do laundry, or even pick up our mail. We stayed here two years ago, there was mowed green grass. It was a nice friendly place to stay. Staff was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. They offered a good price on propane. There are several RV parks in the area, but this seemed to be most fully occupied. This RV Park is conveniently located at a halfway point between Denver and Jackson Hole. I'm not sure what there is to do in Rawlins other than as an overnight stopover. But as an overnight stopover, it was good. The Park was clean and all of the facilities were functional. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I appreciate the fact that the WiFi worked. We would stay here again as an overnight stopover. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is located off of I-80 but far enough from the interstate and the railroad so you don’t get much noise from either. It appears that a good part of the park is set aside for permanent residents. However, the sites and trailers occupying them were all very tidy. There were some high-end fifth wheel trailers in the permanent sites. The sites are close but they can accommodate any size rig including rigs with slides on both sides. There is a laundry room with new washers and dryers. There is a book exchange and a small store. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a great overnight park. This area of Wyoming is very windy and dry, so if you want grass you should keep driving. Everything was clean. The shower pressure was wonderful. It was going to be in the 20s that night so we didn't use the water hookups but we turned on the connection and you will need a pressure regulator. The hosts were very pleasant. We stayed here for one night as a stopover on a cross-country trip. It was probably the least appealing campground of the many that we visited. This is due primarily to its location. The area is rather bleak with no trees or other natural beauty. The park was gravel and the sites were close together. Many of the people staying there appeared to be people there to work for recently available oil jobs. Although there was a pool and a miniature golf course, it is not really a spot for a family vacation. The pool looks a lot nicer on the website than it is and it wasn't even heated in the beginning of August when we stayed there. The office staff seemed nice enough and we had no problems with wi-fi or cable but I would only stay there as a stopover and not for a vacation. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stopped in for a few nights... and ended up spending 5. The park is clean and well-maintained. Dale & Veida (the owners) couldn't be nicer. They really made us feel at home, and gave us great advice about all of the things to do here. We never knew that the Rawlins, WY area was so interesting. We went for a nice hike in the hills right behind the campground. Took a long, scenic drive through the Medicine Bow forest. Toured the historic Old Wyoming State Penitentiary. And strolled along the beautiful North Platte River. Do yourself a favor and stay here; plan for a few nights... you'll find plenty to do. You won't regret it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Although the sites were small and a little crammed in, the service here was excellent! The owners, RV'ers themselves, really go out of their way to help people stay here. Our kids loved the enclosed pool. The bathrooms were clean and coded to get into. We couldn't figure out why this park was given such low ratings in Woodall's and Trailer Life. True this park is not much to look at but it's a great stop over place with all of the basics and free WI-FI is a terrific bonus. The office staff is extremely capable, friendly and helpful. Sites are level and while not spacious, certainly wide enough. We have a 30 ft Class A and our site was long enough that we did not have to disconnect our tow vehicle. Access in and out is convenient and easy. Restrooms and laundry are clean. Right off I-80 but road noise was not a problem for us. We used Passport America and would overnight here again. We arrived in the late afternoon. It was very windy and cold. The staff was very friendly and was very helpful. Yes, it is like a gravel parking lot but for staying the night it was perfect. The Wi-Fi did seem to cut out but while it worked, it worked very well. We were very grateful for this neat clean RV Park. There is a great place to eat just walking distance from the Park. We pulled into this campground at noon. The office was closed with instructions for self check-in. We picked a 50 amp full hookup site and set up our motorhome. Shortly after turning on our air conditioner, everything shut down. After investigating the cause, I found the shore power was fluctuating between 128 and 132 volts. When it reached 132 volts our Progressive surge protector shut the electrical system down. This happened several times in the first half hour. We decided to pack up and move to another campground rather than risk damage to our motorhome. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are a big rig and we liked it. The 130 sights are in one huge all gravel, (many acres) parking lot that is well maintained. No tree, or maneuvering problems. Pull through site was long enough so I did not have to unhook my truck. Interior roads were packed gravel, and plenty wide for easy maneuvering. We stayed only one night at this RV park. It was right off the expressway, easy to find, and easy to get into. Road noise was minimal even though it was close to the Interstate. All the hookups were easy and the camp's brochure offered good directions and good information about local stores, markets, etc. We found the Wi-Fi to be very slow, but we found that at every RV park we stayed at during our vacation in September, so I'd rate this park no better or worse than other places concerning Internet access. Want a winning formula on how to make money with an RV park? Take 20 acres, install utilities, level and add gravel. We've stayed here twice and it is convenient to the freeway and fills up at night. At $33 a pop, and 50-100 rigs every night, it is a winning formula. There is just nothing very bad or good to say. Good location, solid utilities, barren and featureless. Since last year, the pet area is full of weeds and the tent area is nothing more than a sticker patch. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a place to park for the night. There is no shade, but none was expected. The park was clean. The electricity was very poor, we were unable to use Air Conditioner. The staff at check in was curt, but adequate. We missed friendly by about half a mile. We only wanted a quiet place to sleep after a long day's ride and looking at a long drive the next day. We opened all of the windows because of inability to cool with Air conditioner. A dog barked continuously from 8 pm until 11 pm. The dog was not in an RV, but behind a fence. The office said it belonged to the park. 3 separate calls to the office did not help. Local county law enforcement said there were no noise laws here, but they would stop by and try to reason with them. Sometime after 11:00 pm the dog stopped. It was not really early enough for people who want to sleep and leave at dawn. I wish we had used the sleepless hours driving on down the road closer to our destination. I would not stay here again. The CG is all loose stone and very dusty. The high winds compound the dusty condition. In addition to the highway noise, several train tracks are across the highway. Like a pilot, this is a good place for "touch & go landings". It is by the interstate (but little traffic noise). It has good, long, level, gravel sites. You can walk to cafe after landing and playing miniature golf on-site. Wi-fi works well as does the cable and 50 amp. It's not an area you would want to spend your summer vacation, but for utility, price and passing through; it fits the bill. It does get very windy due to being in an open area. The other posters were right; the campground is a large gravel surface and hard packed, but with not much color. The tent area is nice grass and some new trees are planted. The roads are some of the widest that I have ever seen, so any size rig can maneuver in and out easily. Even though it rained just prior to our arrival, there was no mud to be seen. This is also farther from the freeway than the other nearby campground, so less noise is better. The campground was clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. Our Verizon air card worked well here. There are three fenced dog runs for various size dogs. No pool or spa but a game room and a mini golf course for the kids. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here on two different days while going to and from the Black Hills in SD. The park is very clean, however all sites are on gravel. There is plenty of room and the bathrooms and showers were very clean. This is not a destination park but is excellent for a stop while on travel. They are pet friendly and have two separate pet areas. There is gas and diesel fuel less than 1000 feet of the entrance. This is a nice RV park with gravel pull through spots. The staff was fabulous. The rate was very reasonable with our Good Sams discount. The dog runs were spacious. Our kids liked the playground (the see saw was great) and miniature golf. They had free Wi-Fi. If you have two laptops, you will need two codes and they were happy to give it to you. This is big and spacious in every way. The sites are long, wide and level. The roads are extra wide. Most sites are full hook ups but some are electric only or dry camping. The laundry facility is very nice, as are the restrooms and showers. Access to the shower room is through the office, so the hours are 7am to 9pm. Just plan ahead. The private, individual shower rooms are big. Everything is clean. WiFi worked great except for one evening. We suspect someone was downloading movies. Up until 2 years ago this area was booming. Now it is partly abandoned. When the oil drilling stopped, the "permanent" residents left. We come out of our way for Among, the Thai restaurant. For the basics, we will always stay here. There are also no trees around the park resulting in constant buffeting all day by the relentless winds. However their hookups are all quite accessible and work well. The staff was friendly and helpful. The campground is a level gravel yard with all of the hook ups. There virtually no trees and it is like parking in a movie drive in. I can accommodate large rigs. It is a good save place to stay overnight and there is a Flying-J nearby. It was very windy when we stayed. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy in and out off I-80. The sites are gravel and flat, no problem with leveling the rig. This is mid Wyoming, so there were no trees. The park was quiet, but it was only about 1/2 full. Good water and electric. We were in a pull through and did not have to disconnect the toad. Staff was nice. There was a laundry, which we did not use. Two small dog parks. Price was with Good Sam discount. Okay for an overnight stop. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A level, gravel parking lot, but it works. We had a picnic table and electric only for $22 with Good Sam discount. Free WiFi which we did not use. It's a few bucks more for full hookup (sewer and water) and more money yet if you want the cable TV: right around $30. We find this multi-tiered pricing aggravating. There is a tent area, and a 'no hookup' place for RVer's. Streets are big and wide, but once parked your neighbors are VERY close. A nice laundry room is near the office. The toilets are open 24 hours, but the showers are available only when the office is open; from 7-10 am and from 2 -9 pm. The park is convenient to many services, and close to I-25. As reviewed before, just a big level gravel lot with hookups. Sites have side by side hookups, but they only assigned every other site. Would not want to be here if they got busy. Place was empty by 10:00 am except for some permanent units. I am not happy with the office person who took our call, they needed all kinds of info to take the reservation. The usual plus make, model and tag number of our RV. Told her we were coming in from the north, she made no mention of the detour. It sends you between two gas stations, as there is no real street there, we passed it and went in though Cappy's restaurant, big drop off from the road getting out of there. So if coming here or RV World, go between the gas stations, they have a 'rough road' there to serve as the detour. We only stopped here to play Rochelle Ranch Golf Course, very nice layout. Peppermill Bar & Grill had great Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches served with a dinner salad. We will not be back anytime soon. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great spot for an overnight. Large gravel area with plenty of room to maneuver the biggest rig. Showers are in the office available from 7am to 9pm. This campground was like an oasis in the middle of WY. The wind does blow hard all day, but dies down in the evening and early morning for a good night's sleep. The best part was the clean, new restroom and showers with real walls and doors: very nice. It's hours are limited to office hours: 7-10 a.m. and 1-9 p.m. The laundry was equally as nice, $1.50 wash and 50 cents for 30 minutes drying. It's just off I-80 and close to town. The place filled up every night. Our price was for electric only. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Gravel, nice long pull-thurs, full hookups with 50 amp, Wi-Fi, and good cable. Easy in and out for even the largest RVs. We were in the 3rd row and didn't hear the highway noise but did hear trains during the night. The office is closed from 10 am to 1 pm but you can just take a site and return to register at 1 pm. If you arrive after 9 pm there is an honor system box to register. The showers are entered through the office so they have limited times but restrooms are open 24/7. Easy on/off to the interstate. Enjoyed touring the historic prison and county museum. Other than that not much to see. We reserved for 3 nights and that was 1 night too many. The campground is a mixture of sand and gravel and prior to our arrival and 2 days after it rained almost non stop which turned the grounds into a muddy mess. We travel with our dogs and it was so bad that I the towels I would use to wipe their wet coats down I had to place on the floor to avoid muddy carpets. Also train tracks are near thus several trains going through out the night. The dog pens were clean & a good place for Fido to work off some energy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stopped here as a mid-way point between Rocky Mountain NP and Grand Teton NP. The $27 rate was a Good Sam discount with no cable TV. The park is almost all gravel with no shade; however it was cool and rained 3 days, so that was OK. The staff was friendly, helpful and worked almost everyday on the grounds. There is a nice playground, laundry and miniature golf on-site. In town is a great Thai restaurant (Anong's) with a weekday buffet. There are a few attractions in Rawlins but the rain kept us in the Bus. The WiFi was A+, Verizon cell and data worked well, and we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A large, all gravel park overlooking I-80, with level sites, good hookups, and adequately sized sites. No trees, just gravel, but fairly quiet except for a moderate level of train noise throughout the night. Easy access to the interstate and one exit from the Flying J. This park is located not far from the highway, and although all gravel, we found it to be quite level. It was snowing while we checked in and continued to snow off and on while we were there, but the sites did get mushy. When someone left, there was a worker using a tractor to level the site back out for the next customer. There are numerous pull-through sites, and the office tried to keep distances between RVs until it got too busy to do so. Good water pressure. Wi-Fi did not work well - we used our ATT Aircard, and it worked better. Not much to do in the area unless you like scenic drives - which we enjoyed very much. Saratoga Hot Springs is not too far and a fun adventure! Would recommend this for overnight or a day or so for scenic drives. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy on/off access and adequate room inside park to move our 42' fifth wheel. All gravel throughout. Everything leveled up good as someone drags a grading blade around on what looks like a daily basis. They were kicking up the dust when we were setting up. Park sits on a hilltop so you see the surrounding mountains and rain clouds in the distance. Flying J at next exit is very visible. Far enough off interstate for noise to not be a major problem and railroad is seen beside the interstate but train noise was not noticeable. Great park for overnight stop. Cappy's Restaurant across the street appeared to be a popular eating place. We ate downtown at Square Shooters. Later learned it is most expensive in the area and basically offers a lot of sandwiches and salads. Advertised homemade cooking and pies were not in evidence. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is about the best Rawlins has to offer. It was spotlessly clean, both the grounds and the restrooms, and the staff was helpful and efficient. It does not have a lot of visual appeal, but this is southern Wyoming, where trees are few and far between. There is some traffic noise from the freeway, but it was not unbearable. Agree with previous reviews about there being a "dearth" of campgrounds along Interstate 80. I stopped here to wait out a harsh snow and wind storm. The hosts were very nice and let me have "late" checkout if I needed due to the weather and driving conditions. No landscaping, just a large gravel lot, with 30 and 50 amp. However, the office and laundry are in two cute little "barn" buildings. This resort is year round and water faucets are insulated against harsh Wyoming weather. If you have a surge protector from Camping World, you can use it here, it will fit. There are three sections of "back to backs" that the staff told me are being converted to long pull throughs. The spots still have "two" of everything. I was in one of them, and the one thing I didn't like was that I had to cross my electric and cable cords, as well as my water hose across the sewer hose for the sewer. The other sewer connection was located under the picnic table of the neighboring slot. I'm sure your neighbor will really appreciate it if you use that one. Be sure to have disinfectant wipes to wipe off your hoses and cords. The showers were clean, but they are only available when the office is open. The very nice and cute laundry area is open later hours and has a change machine, and special washers for extra dirty clothes in addition to other washers and dryers. However, if you are in the "full hookup" sections, it's a bit of a hike to the laundry area. There are very nice pet areas, one of them is fenced so you can let your pet run around without a leash. Cable and WiFi were good. You are given a 24 hour code to use for each day you stay. The Wi-Fi can only be used for browsing and email checking, no large files or movies. The rate I am showing is the rate before taxes and discounts. This park has a very unique way of applying discounts and taxes. The Good Sam discount is $3 a day, which equated to a little more than 13%. Then, the sales/lodging tax is applied to the base rate before the discounts. Bottom line, it was still affordable. Good stopover while on Interstate 80. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We thought this was a very nice and attractive RV park over all for a night's stay based on southern Wyoming standards. The entire park is gravel over dirt, so it could be a bit dusty when hot and it was muddy in places when we arrived after a rain. There's plenty of room to maneuver and the site was level. Water pressure, voltage, and Wi-Fi all were excellent. Cable TV is available only at limited sites. The office staff was friendly. We would certainly stay here again. The mini golf here was great for the kids, and free too, although the course was in a mild state of disrepair. The showers are closed whenever the office is closed, with the hours they're open being 7a-10p and 2p-9p. If you need to shower in the late morning, I hope you can wait 4 hours. There are not a lot of parks to choose from in Southern Wyoming along I80. This one is a big, flat, dirt/gravel parking lot with FHU and picnic tables at each site. It is actually good for a one or two night stopover park but not a destination park. When we arrived the office was closed and we picked our site. We planned on some outside activities but out of nowhere popped up a thunder storm and stiff wind, which is probably typical for this country at this time of the year. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They now have Wi-Fi and it is free and speedy. We camped in late winter and got a site without water hooked up yet as freezing is a problem. To be charitable, this part of Wyoming would be very hard to keep clean and green. This is an all gravel, dusty, windswept flat spot with no trees, and tightly packed spaces, parking lot style. Very expensive for the favor of getting off the road for a night's rest, and packed full because you have to stop somewhere when crossing the state on I80. The pet "exercise areas" are superb, with green grass, large fenced areas, and clean up tools. We were treated courteously but curtly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Don’t bother to fix your hair ladies, you are in “windy Rawlins” (self-proclaimed by many of the area residents). Can’t blame the park for the location – it is what it is. Aside from the ever-present gales that whip through, the park is not that bad, certainly not a destination resort, but more than adequate for a night or two while passing through on I-80. (they even offer no hook up sites for those who prefer). Easy access on and off I-80, the park is essentially a large gravel parking lot with three rows of level, full hook-up, pull-through sites. The park has very widely spaced rows (streets) and sufficiently wide spaces, some separated by white lattice, trellis-type fences and small greenery. Very clean park and friendly staff. Definitely big-rig friendly with easy maneuverability in and out of the sites. Dog-friendly with pet area and pet play pen. Free WiFi at the site is very iffy – it apparently works in the office. This park plays host to many of the 24/7 workers from the nearby Sinclair Oil Refinery (6 miles away in the town of Sinclair). Some early risers with noisy diesels. The park is also about ½ mile from the railroad tracks. My husband heard the train a few times overnight – I never did. Even so, he said the train did not wake him or keep him awake. The train noise was not very bothersome. The park’s web page is informative, accurate and not over-blown (no pun intended). The site provides several links to local activities – it fails to mention the Wyoming Frontier Prison, located on the edge of town. The prison offers hour long tours every hour – providing a fascinating glimpse into correctional facilities of the Old West. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The WiFi only works if you are close to the office. They are trying some limited fencing/shrubbery between sites to help create some limited privacy. Worst part was all of the construction workers who are long term stays and leave at 5:30 am in their diesel pickups. Quiets down again at 6:00 am until everyone starts leaving around 8:00 am. They do have a nice office area with a loft for using your laptop. Unfortunately the stairs (curved) to the loft are quite narrow and not for the faint of heart. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I also would only stay there overnight. No trees, lots of other campers, and a highway to wake you often. While we setup the kids got a free game of mini-golf. The next morning another lady charged them to play. Didn't understand why the difference. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Decent for a one nighter. Gravel and heat made a VERY dusty/hot stay. Looks more like an old movie outdoor movie theater turned into a CG. Friendly staff and clean area with easy access to highway. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Windy! Nothing wrong with the campground, but we had to keep the slides in and it was really hard getting connected due to the winds. Passable restaurant nearby and not far from easy access gas stations. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was the worst campground we have stayed at so far. Nothing more than a gravel parking lot, not one tree and the wind blows non-stop. Wi-fi service works better using Super 8 than the campgrounds. The owner escorted us to our site and then proceeded to direct us how to pull in which resulted in scraping the side of our brand new fifth wheel, when she realized what happened she hopped back in her car and took off. Would not stay here or recommed this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Basically ok park. Owner/staff were very friendly & helpful. WIFI is available & free but it has a long way to go to be dependable! Seems every time the wind blows (which is a lot in Wy), the WIFI frequently goes off line. Western Hills wouldn't win any beauty contests due to being dirt & gravel, but the park is kept clean & has attractive small lattice fences with plants/vines growing on them, between RV's. A young girl knocked on our door the few mornings we were there to ask if she could disconnect our water for a few minutes to water the 'lattice' plants. The park is located just off a busy highway. Western Hills features a mini golf course, play ground & laundry room. Paperback books are available in the office for campers enjoyment. If we pass thru Wy again, I'd have no problem staying the night at Western Hills, again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This rating is based on an overnight stay only while drving cross country, not for an extended vacation stay. We stopped here for the night and had very high winds, but dust didn't seem to be a problem. There are some train tracks in the valley and the trains run on a regular basis throughout the night which disturbed my sleep, but not the others traveling with me. It's quite a basic set up and not bad for an overnight, the main problem is that the shower area is not open until the office is at 7am, so if you want to get an early start and can't afford the extra weight while towing in the mountains or want to pull out your sewer equipment, it's nice to be able to hit the showers a little earlier in the morning hours. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an overnighter only. The manager was very nice & they're doing a lot to improve the
place but it's flat, open and dusty. We felt like we'd pulled into a drive-in. The showers were nice but the majority of facilities were still closed when we went through. The wildlife was a bonus though. The tenting area was right out in the open with RV zipping by whipping up the gravel. We camped here in a Motorhome.

All gravel parking lot. Good for a nights sleep only. A word of warning, don't wash your windshield with a hose. An elderly gentlemen did and was literally threatened bodily harm for doing so. Owner is way too hot headed to be running a campground. We camped here in a camper.
