It was a very small simple campground, but it was a beautiful setting. We had a site on a peninsula surrounded by beautiful waterscape views in every direction. The staff was friendly and helpful. You could get to surrounding Canada islands in minutes. A good location , and no complaints. Very nice little RV park.
Aside from the fact that we were put all the way in the back which looked like an RV graveyard and was near the edge of the campground near swampy dune-like setting full of bionic mosquitoes, it was a great location for a campground in P-town. We really only used it as a base point for touring around P-Town. While in the campground we pretty much stayed in our motor home. The setting was not conducive to relaxing outside. The mosquitoes in that area were unbearable. The people that seemed to be in perm sites were overall not very friendly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would go there again if visiting P-Town, but only for it's convenience. They have that market cornered pretty much.
I first went to this campground about 5 years ago, and if it wasn't for the beautiful setting I probably wouldn't have stayed as long as I did. It was very run down and poorly staffed, and overall an unpleasant camping experience. I had no intention of returning. I later found out it was under new ownership , so I decided to give it a second chance because I loved the setting so much. I didn't see much of a difference, but had an opportunity to meet the new owners and hear about their plans. I was very pleased at what I heard. I've been going ever since and every time I return there are new improvements. It's been a slow process , but the owners are working hard and really turning the place around for the better. You can really see that the members there are jumping on board also, which wasn't the case in the beginning. There is much more of a community feeling there now than when I first went. Good Job Stoney Creek ! Keep up the good Work !
