Resort is well maintained, groomed, and clean. All concrete pads. The resort is very busy, and doesn't allow bicycles or golf carts. Very pricey, but worth it when buying theme park ticket packages. Shuttle bus takes you any where you want to go in the park. Never had to wait longer than seven minutes. But then again, the theme park is walking distance anyway. Check in wait was around twenty minutes. Being right on Lake Erie had awesome views. Be warned that there is one way on and one way off Sandusky, so, traffic is a nightmare during peak park hours. Requesting certain sites or areas even a year in advance, is not even considered we learned when we checked in. Free wireless would have been nice, at the cost of these camp sites. Overall, very nice resort.
Excellent campground. Stayed here for three nights. Nice facilities. Very quiet and family oriented. They have a LONG list of rules, and were appreciated for a nice, quiet stay. They will guide you to your site. Cleanest bath houses on the planet. Pool was very clean, warm, and monitored. The young owners live onsite and were here all the time. Grounds were well maintained. Free wireless worked great. Big rig friendly. Wished we lived closer to enjoy more often. GPS was accurate, and signage wasn't an issue. Has state signs going all the way to the campground.
Used to be Thousand Trails membership campground. New corporation ENCORE bought it. It is still just an average older campground, that needs a lot of work. Most sites are small, and the bigger sites are filled with seasonal campers. The staff were very nice and helpful. The pools were ice cold and the sites were grown up with weeds. Wi-Fi is not free. Hot water in the bath house runs out fast. Overall, a decent campground.
Very nice and clean campground. We really didn't take advantage of the amenities, since the weather was cool. We were looking for a place to take the kids camping. After arriving, we were informed that campfires were not permitted. The next morning, we left to go to another campground that allowed campfires. We might stay here again if looking for a place to sleep only.
Campground was right beside the interstate, but the noise wasn't bad. I guess the trees absorbed the sound. The park is clean and the staff was friendly. It is an older ex KOA campground and could use some touching up.The pool had just been remodeled and was very nice. Looks like they do not mow the grass too often. There are several permanent sites that need to be removed. The trailers look terrible and ruin the campgrounds reviews. The wooded sites are average size, but the pull-through sites are really narrow for RV's with slides. The location is perfect for overnight sites. Not really a long stay destination. We will stay here several times more this year.
The campground is old and the sites are narrow. Just about all sites are on a hill. It looked like they never mow the grass or maintain anything. The bathouses were somewhat clean. There is no soap, paper towels, or toilet paper in the bathouses, I guess you are suppose to bring your own. The pool was nice, but there wasn't much chlorine in the water. If you are a big rig I wouldn't try getting into this campground. The staff was nice, but not overly friendly. The next time we are in this area, I think that we will look for a better campground.
Nice campground but crowded. Most campers were from Quebec and speak mostly French. The Super Sites are a must but are too expensive. The rest of the park is wooded and muddy. Streets are paved and they have four pools. Wi-Fi cost extra. You would think at this nightly rate, everything would be included. Even maid service. The campground staff wasn't very friendly, long lines for check-in. The beach was 2.5 miles away. The reserved parking lot for 160 vehicles was really handy. The bike path was very nice, but just a little too long for children to ride to the beach every day. The fighter jets flew often, but we loved them, just knowing that is the sound of our freedom. The water pressure is extremely low during peak times. The super site area is very well groomed. We have never paid $80.00 a night before and never will again. We will not return.
Campground is nice and clean. The shaded pull through sites (30/50 amp) will take two or more sewer hoses to reach. The facilities are really clean, staff is friendly, activities for the children were great. Yogi Bear was present. No golf carts allowed was a blessing!! Overall, the campground was a typical Yogi Bear facility, charge extra for everything. Paying extra for children is really too much. Before long, I am sure they will start charging extra to use the bath houses. The train does come by, but it is at a distance and didn't pay much attention to it. We probably would look around for another place to stay if in the area, that didn't charge extra for everything.
Good small campground. It is a very old campground, but it was well taken care of. The new owners were making improvements. The pool was remodeled and clean. New electrical and water was being upgraded. The Wi-Fi worked well. No bathhouse available, just a bathroom with one shower. And they were run down a bit. Probably clean, but we chose not to use them. Great playground for the children. A pet donkey was interesting. Well stocked store onsite. Overall, a good quiet place to stay. We will stay here again if in the area.
Looking for a campground to go tent camping and picked Claboughs Campground. Not very impressed with the tent section. 20 foot of gravel in between the road and small creek. The campground has a major problem with ducks near the creek. Duck droppings every where. There were near 100 ducks quacking all night long. The bath house was clean and air conditioned. The pool and lazy river was great. The staff were perfect and very friendly. I think we will not be back. It would probably be OK if you were in a camper.
This campground should be the standards in the camping industry. The sites are level and spacious. Trees are between each site for a lot of privacy from your neighbor. All facilities were spotless and in great working condition. The owners are always around and very friendly. Activities were planned all weekend for everyone and a nice church service on Sunday. If you are in this area, you have got to stay here.
The campground was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. Restrooms were spotless. The newer section near the pool was great. These sites were spaced out and had individual gas grills and wooden decks. The shuttle bus takes you everywhere in Stone Mountain. Overall, the campground was very nice and the people were friendly. Wireless internet access worked great. We will definitely stay here again.
Well, after seven different visits to this campground through the years, hoping it would get better, this was our last visit. The restrooms were nasty, no paper towels, bugs everywhere, and dirty. The water slide needs cleaning, and they need to get all the debris out of the catch pool. All the rental boats were half full of water and have never been cleaned. The whole campground is almost full of permanent sites. Believe me: everyone here has a golf cart. A lot of the golf carts are gas operated and are extremely noisy. And they ride their carts all day and half of the night. A loud band shows up on the weekend and blasts the music through the campground. The campsites are extremely tight. Last visit, my awning was touching another camper. The sewer pipes are an odd size PVC and sewer odor escapes around the connector, causing a bad odor. The only reason that we rated them a three was of the pool for the kids. They advertise being big rig friendly. Not true. If your RV is over 30 foot, be aware that you might not fit. We will not return to Lake Myers Campground!
Sites are level and all are pull-throughs. Cable and Wi-Fi worked great. A small mix-up on reservations. The older couple that host the office are not too good at site changing requests. Even when the site that we requested to move to was empty. The owner was extremely friendly. Very nice CG. The pool stays at 82 degrees, all facilities were clean. The cleanest bathrooms around. When making reservations, make sure you ask for the lower section, otherwise they will put you up in the section where your awning will hit your neighbor's slideout. No kidding. It is extremely tight in the upper section. Otherwise, I would have rated a little higher. Also note, no campfires on the ground. We will visit again, only if they guarantee a certain site number range.
Very nice small campground on the Henry River. Campground was clean and well taken care of. The owners were always onsite and working on the grounds. Very friendly and safe environment with a gate at the entrance. All sites are very roomy and graveled. All sites were level. Activities, such as bingo, pot luck dinner, and hay rides were planned during our stay. Get directions before trying to find this campground. GPS is incorrect on this location. We highly recommend this campground and will return when we are in this area again.
Raccoon Holler Campground is a very nice family owned campground. This resort is clean and well taken care of. Bath houses were very clean. The staff are beyond friendly and make sure that you are enjoying yourselves. The staff keeps the rules enforced 24/7. All paved roads, spacious sites, quiet country settings, well stocked store, and gated. A very safe place for children to ride bikes and play. The owners are always here working. We will definitely return. There are not many campgrounds left that have such high standards, for the 25.00 nightly rate. Great place.
We stayed here Labor Day weekend, and needless to say, the resort was awesome. The activities for the children were endless. Yogi, Cindy, Boo-Boo, and the Ranger characters were out all the time with the children. The resort had staff/employee's everywhere. Our site was across from the pool. A little tight, but we knew that when we made reservations. The only negative comments would be that they charge extra for everything: cable, water slide, putt-putt, inner tubes, and most children activities. The resort was very clean and well taken care of. We will return again when in the area. If you have children, this is a great family campground.
Staff was very friendly. All facilities were extra clean. A little pricey, but, the shuttle is free to Carowinds. Regular parking at the park is $10.00 each day. So, that offsets the camping rate. The lodge has the best discount tickets available for Carowinds. Children under 48" tall are required to have on a life vests in the pool. This is negotiable after talking to the life guard. Pull thru sites are lacking grass, but all other sites have grass. Very nice campground. We will return to Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort. Call ahead for directions, the campground direction signs are missing near the end.
Stayed at Lake Myers RV Resort over Memorial Day weekend. The campground has everything to offer to children for having fun. The facilities were clean. Paid for a premium site, but when I arrived, they gave me a pull through site where my awning would not extend. After pulling forward, I had to settle with the awning two feet from the back of another fifth wheel. Staff was present, but would make no adjustments in swapping for a vacant site across the road. After paying full price, only one pool was open, and only one water slide open. The pool was not heated; big disappointment. Campground is mainly full of seasonal and full time sites. The campground is overcrowded with noisy golf carts, gas & electric. We will try this campground one more time to see if it improves any.
Very nice campground. 5 Star rating to us! Staff were very friendly. Strict rules such as speed limits, pets, and golf cart rules enforced. Concrete patios on all sites, fire rings, neatly trimmed grass, and clean facilities. This should be the standard for all campgrounds. Even the wireless internet was free. You can tell that the owners of this campground aim to please. Highly recommend this resort.
The campground has a lot of seasonal sites, but keep them separated from weekender's. The grounds are kept very clean. Bath houses are clean. Staff members are outstanding. The pool is very nice. Sites are level and have all paved roads. The security gate at the main entry is great. I would rate higher, but the amount of golf carts and traffic within the campground is extreme. Roaming staff keeps order in the park and enforce rules posted. Activities for children are always taking place.
Outstanding campground. Very friendly staff. All facilities were clean and orderly. Level sites. The shuttle to Hershey Park was outstanding. Always on time and the drivers were very friendly. The pools were clean and always had several life guards posted. I saw no golf carts in this quite campground to run you over. The freight train does pass by on the upper sites, but we stayed in the lower section and never really noticed it. Nice camp store and discount theme park tickets. I highly recommend this campground to any family wanting a nice place to stay.
This was the highest priced campground that we have ever stayed at. The campground was kept clean and landscaped. It is located near the battle field and attractions. The only thing that they did not charge extra for was the pools, which are only four feet deep. There is an interstate that goes right beside of the campsites and is very loud. The staff were somewhat friendly. Golf carts are every where. And with gravel roads, the dust is bad. At $62 dollars a night, I think we will try other campgrounds in the area.
