We stayed for 3 nights at a Good Sam rate of $37.80/night for 2 people. The resort seems fully recovered from Hurricane Ike which devastated the island in September, 2008. The beach was very nice, with the beach access road located 400 feet west of the RV park entrance. We were able to drive our car and bike on the hard packed sand. The pool and spa water were quite cool. A couple junky looking "permanent" sites detracted from the RV park's appearance. We enjoyed the free continental breakfast with homemade waffles on Saturday morning; breakfast is also offered on Wednesdays.

The campground is very convenient to Route 10, but highway noise was minimal. Our $23.30 nightly rate reflects their website promotion whereby you pay for two nights at $35 each and get the third night free. We stayed for 3 nights. The free daily continental breakfast was the best we've had at any campground. The Texas shaped waffles were exceptional!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Pontchartrain Landing in October. Our $29 rate was with Pass Port America discount. Their free shuttle runs 3 times a day to the French Quarter. That, combined with the daily rail pass for New Orleans streetcars, meant that we never had to unhook the towed car from the motor home. The campground appearance is lovely with well-maintained gravel roads, and lush tropical plantings including flowering oleander and hibiscus. The views outside the campground are less than ideal, surrounded by an industrial shipping and warehouse area. The pool area was very nice with outdoor bar serving beer and soda at night (but may have different hours during their busy season). The access road from the highway to the campground is rough pavement, so just take it slow.
