This is a large campground with great many 'permanent' seasonal residents. Campers are generally well cared for and grounds are neat and well kept up. There are not a large number of sites available for drive-ups. Currently there is a large workforce here to work on the local electric plant and there were very few sites available. Staff was friendly and helpful.
This campground is way off the beaten path. Narrow twisty roads in from interstate. Campground has a number of ongoing infrastructure projects that no one seems to be working on. Holes dug all over the place for apparent work on sewer system. Vast quantities of junk stuff surrounds the office building and is a great detraction. Roads are gravel with many potholes. Campground offers tubing, kayak and canoe rentals. Staff is friendly and helpful. We will not come here again.
We stayed here using Thousand Trails. We had used our allotted free days so the rate was $4. The bathrooms were spotless, the laundry was poor, machines old, drains overflowed if more than 1 machine pumped out at a time and the grounds were dirty. Lots of little plastic stuff, papers, candy wrappers etc. While we were here no one ever picked up around the campground. We stayed in C section which had many nice wide sites. Many small 'park' model houses here reminds me of a ghetto. Staff was helpful and friendly.
We camped here using Coast to Coast and paid $10/night. All C2C sites are water and electric only. Weekend was very busy, place was full. Weekdays the place thinned out. Lots of dogs and kids. Big pool and playground. Big draw here is the Civil War re-enactments which happen regularly. C2C site are mostly level, some shaded, some sunny. We were disappointed in the bathrooms, they were not clean, tile grout moldy, paper holders didn't work and not enough showers/toilets to accommodate the entire park.
We belong to Thousand Trails so we stayed for nothing. Most sites are not level, some are VERY unlevel. You have to find your own site so you leave your rig and drive around till you find something you like. A number of seasonal folks and they seemed to have the sites where you got satellite reception. Laundry was clean, pool was busy over Memorial Day weekend and the campground was packed. The staff was helpful and the manager helped us find a spot. We probably will stay here again.
