Arriving on Sunday night of a 3 day weekend, we were surprised to find an open spot.  The tree-shaded sites are gravel with an additional leveled area for chairs and the picnic table.  Our site 59 was almost level side to side but was not level front to back, which is to a concern to us.  We enjoyed the trail to the Mississippi River and to Bridal Veil Falls, which is more impressive when the weather is not drought-like.   The site 59 power was grounded properly, but the voltage was a bit under 110 volts.  At 108 volts air conditioners can have major troubles.  We were much more comfortable about 9 AM when the temperature outside cooled.  We will need to check the power before we stay again.

4 of the 82 sites are pull-through spots.  Our back-in site had electricity, water, and cable TV.  The campground manager let us pick our site. We chose one of the six "river view" sites.  The sites are right on the Escanaba River, but the drop down to the water is too steep to make the site riverside.  Unfortunately, the view is obscured by bushes and trees.  We liked the larger site and paid the extra $2 per night.  The trees are mature, so most sites has shade.  We drove approximately 16 miles to fly fish for trout below Boney Falls, the no luck as we only saw 1 trout in 10 hours of fishing. Sad.  We will return.

We got a great site nestled tightly in the trees! There are two sites requiring some maneuvering to park, both with views of wonderful Lake Superior. Our site needed a bit of leveling, as we pulled quite a way back into the site.  We backed in to have a waterfront site where the bank drops off about 30 feet to the water, and we had lots of room to place chairs and watch the occasional sailboat.  We camped during the week, and all was very quiet.  The site we chose had electricity and unbelievable to me - cable TV.   Water is nearby in the campground.  The roads and sites are well packed gravel.   We will be back.

Lucky to arrive early in the day, we were offered 3 sites to check before choosing.  Our site was in dappled shade, not all sites have shade, as it appears some huge trees were lost in the last few years.  Our site was level gravel.  All the reviewers earlier mentioning a water hose as the source of water are not kidding. We also did not find the spigot for the clean cold water.  All the grassy areas were closely mowed.  The restroom building looked brand new, and was being painted, but I did not make it inside to check.  The pull through sites were located close to each other.  Our site on the St. Louis River - a waterfront site -  was wide, and green.  Our site, as all the others on the lakefront, was separated from the lake and views by a patch of trees and brush - then a walking and bicycling path.  So the trees do stop every walker from your seeming to be in the campsites.  We spent some time in the evening on one of the docks - watching a deer feed, a beaver swim, ducks landing, fox running, frogs leaping, dragonflies hovering, and a doe with 2 fawns swim across to the island.

We were disappointed to learn that we could only stay one night, as all sites were reserved for a music festival weekend.  Only the camp sites on the lake have great views, and we would try to return for one of those sites.

We stayed in the newer west campground, which is easy to find after checking into the ranger station.  The campground is located on Lake Fanny Hooe, with the common area on the lakefront providing nice views to many campsites.  The campground hosts set up morning coffee with their display of area brochures.  And on Saturday night, the campground hosts helped each of us to make yummy bread on a stick.  Within a short walk is Fort Wilkins, a no-cost historical site which allowed dogs.  We took our dog, and took turns visiting each of the buildings.  The nightly ranger talk was enjoyable.  And just across the road is access to Lake Superior at the rocky beach. There is little in town to interest me, and the restaurants were uninspired at best.  We drove to the northernmost point of Highway 41 which is the road all the way to Miami.  About 2 miles beyond the start of Highway 41, on a seasonal rut-filled dirt road is a very beautiful secluded Horseshoe Bay.

Location location location The campground is right on a portion of Lake Superior's sandy beach.  Our view of the lake was some what obscured by the campers on the lakefront.  Sites are grass, gravel, and sand from the beach.  Parking location and direction within your site is at your discretion, so we angled our trailer to best suit our windows and the beach.  Great benefit for us that dogs on 6 foot leashes are on the beach, we enjoyed walking in he water together.  The campground was close to our kayaking day trip along Pictured Rocks. The campground is on the highway, but noise at night was minimal, and could not be heard on the beach at all.  No campfires. Close to town for groceries and gas and yummy  Muldoon's Pasties Shop but not too close.  We will be back.

Nice roomy gravel sites accessed by asphalt roads.  Sites on Lake Huron were separated from the rocky wet beach by a thin area of bushes.  Our site was the closest to the lake with electricity, and was one of the few sites with brush separating it from neighbors.  We enjoyed the views of the Mackinac Bridge from the lake, and from the overlook.  We used the laundromat in town.  We spent a day exploring the Lake Huron lake shore.  Our second day was spent on Mackinac Island, hiking the paths, exploring Fort Mackinaw, taking the  horse-drawn carriage tour, and enjoying the ferry rides.  It was nice to have bins to recycle plastic, metal, glass, and paper - the first state park campground to take all these.  We hope to come back.

Great location on a small Iowa lake that allows small quiet motors only. Paddle, fishing, and other boats are available at the marina which is only a short walk from the campground. The campground hosts were friendly and smiling. The tent area is shady, while spots on the beach are in full sun. Many families enjoy the park, and the park becomes quiet at sundown. I was fortunate to hear a local band at the band stand, but they stopped as the sun set. I camp here at least once a year and can't wait to go back.

Wonderful staff helped us get to our site. We were lucky to have a wide site with lots of room outside our door. Most sites barely have room for a picnic table between the trailers. Next time I will be sure to ask for a roomy site. This is an established campground that is now a KOA, for with yellow and black signs, but no A-Frame office building. The pool was sparkly clean. The private pond is stocked for campers-only fishing. The restrooms are very clean. The store is small but has all the essentials, and a Walmart is only 1 mile away. This is a easy place to camp if traveling on I-80 through Iowa. The new Iowa Speedyway is a good distance away on the opposite side of the interstate. Trees shade the trailers here making it very popular during race weekends. The interstate noise was too much for me to sleep well the first night even with the windows closed, but I have slept more soundly at other really loud locations such as the Pittsburgh area KOA, so I will want to stay again before commenting.

I stayed Sunday night, so many spots were open. The $30 cost was for the $25 electric site I chose ($5 less for non-electric sites) and included the $5 daily park pass. A State Park Season pass is available for more frequent MN State Park users. My site 13e was roomy. I unhooked to level my 25' RV front to back on the gravel sites. Trees surround each site, making neighbors hard to see. Watching the sun set through the trees was beautiful. A number of people were walking, and the trails are well marked. Two large dump stations are located near the campground entrance and office, which is a lengthy 1-1/4 mile one-way walk on the gravel road back to the campsites. The friendly ranger stopped by and offered to bring me firewood. There is some distant road noise, but it was not disturbing even with all the windows open wide. At sunset all other campers were quiet. Dogs are welcome on the hiking trails. Many of the trails lead to the river's rapids and falls. Due to recent flooding, the trails are in the process of repair, so I don't know the normal level of care. No mosquitoes were seen during my stay. Inside the park, the closed sandstone quarry was the source for many years of quality building stone, including that used on the Des Moines downtown public library building. I will stay again when in MN.

I had a super spot backed up to Clark Ford River. Fly fish-able, but motorized boat traffic is allowed. An older clean KOA, the sites are wider. Super nice owners were really helpful. We were unfortunately at the campground on a night that the campground host had her on-site restaurant closed. The sites are gravel and grass and almost level. I would return.

Great location to visit the Little Big Horn Battlefield National Monument and Pompey's Pillar for William Clark's signature and an amazing view of the area from the top of the stone. This is an older but clean KOA, and as an older campground, there are no fancy concrete patios. The pool is small for playing in the water and not swimming laps. The surrounding sugar beet fields were harvested when we arrived, so a wind could kick up some dust - yet we had a cool breeze with no dust.

Small campground right on the Big Hole River.  Basically parking on grass with a campfire ring.  I had a great site overlooking the river.   With only one other camper, I got a great night's sleep.  Fly fishing the next morning was fun, and I would return.

Wow!! What a great site! Trees, huge boulders, nice quiet yet friendly neighbors, almost level pull-through asphalt pad in the shade, with water and electricity at the site.  A nearby town has a dump station, so extended stays (about 1 week) would not work for me. I had a great drive over the nearby mountain roads, even though I did not find Twin Lakes. I absolutely will return!!

Great to have electricity! I always like to stay at the Fishing Bridge Campground.  It is wonderful to stay centrally located in Yellowstone National Park to stay and explore. It is a parking lot style campground with several loops, each with Lots of hard-sided-only RVs.  It is nice to have pine trees between the loops.  You must unhook and park next to your trailer or Big-rig. Prices are determined by location and services offered, and Fishing Bridge is probably the most expensive - yet I prefer the security of electricity on cool/cold nights or hot days.  Work was being to upgrade the electrical service while I stayed.  You will need a water-pressure-reducer, or they are for sale as you check-in. I will return.

The ladies who greeted me upon arrival were kind and knowledgeable about Cody's attractions.  The next morning, the man in the office was...nice word...Rude! Asked to chose our own site, I found a back-in spot with trees.  Pull through sites are in full sun.  Level gravel pads with bright green well-watered sites were delightful and relaxing!  Provided with ether site's full hook-up was cable TV, yet not all channels were clear - ok for me!  Normal in-town campground traffic noise was no trouble. The laundry facility was crisp and clean, yet closed at 7:30pm - not convenient to anyone passing through town.  The Buffalo Bill Historical Center's art is a good reason to stop and spend a day! I would rate the campground much higher if I'd not experienced "rude man". Really a nice place except for the one forceful rude man.

Fountain of youth  RV camping with mineral hot springs! Included in the cost is unlimited use of the warm and hot mineral swimming pools.  Please note: mineral does mean there is a sulfur smell at the pool and in the campgrounds.  I had a great time swimming and lounging in the warm waters in late afternoon and again in the evening - the pool is open 7am to 9:30pm.  No band played poolside at night this time we stayed.   A short drive into town took us to the historic mineral spring terraces, the fantastical white sulfur spring, and then through the bison park. The sites are gravel, not quite level, and the campground in general could benefit from a bit of sprucing-up and updating.  I visit for the pool and the Big Horn River aka Wind River. I will be back.

Cabela's Nice overnight stop with great sunsets! Every time I've stopped here, the pinks and purples seen in the sky as the sun sets are amazing.  Then the clouds turn golden before changing again to reds and pinks again.  It is lovely! All pads are level gravel and this campground offers either full hook-ups on grassy sites or electric only on the far west gravel sites.  Both are the cleanest sites you could ever ask for camping.  Normal interstate background noise can be cancelled out with a fan.  I took the short walk to the store for shopping.  Sorry for me, in-store restaurant does not open early enough for breakfast on the go.   I will return.

The park's north entrance has a beautiful stone tunnel. We need 11 feet to enter and we had lots of room. The east entrance is a gravel road, but with no tunnel. The campground as a couple camping areas. One area with mature trees has a couple rows of spots for RVs with medium spaces between the gravel pads. Nice place to hang out and have a campfire cookout. The second area is a more open area, parking in large circle with a grassy area with playground and area for football tossing, etc. Great ford in this State Park - walk or drive your truck or SUV across the water. You do not need to drive through the water to the campground. We spent about an hour wading in the water with our friends. Our dogs were so happy to be cooled by the water - swimming and wading. Many children were tubing and swimming. Downstream people were fishing on the sandbars. The hosts were very nice. We will go back soon.

Wonderful, wide, mostly-level gravel spots with shaded spots overlooking Bear Creek. We stayed 2 nights after full days of fishing the nearby trout streams. Iowa now requests that you buy firewood where you burn it to avoid spreading a tree-killing pest, and the super-nice owners will bring fire rings to your site. The roads leading to the campground are all dusty gravel, but the campground is silent at night, with no traffic noise at all. We will be back again as soon as possible!

The campground is great for rallies - lots of spots to park and a couple nice buildings for meeting and gathering. The spaces are wide, and without trees. The campground does not offer any activities. It is a great spot to stay to tour the Amana Colonies. I recommend stopping early at Hahn Bakery for terrific and fresh bread and pastries. Access to the wide and well-maintained walking and bike path around Lily Lake is conveniently across the street from the campground. We've also stayed here to enjoy all that Cedar Rapids has to offer. Some weekends the campground hosts festivals, ask for a spot away from the buildings.

We've stayed before, and were excited to come back. The busy family-friendly park is quiet at night. We enjoyed the roads and bicycle path. The lake is full of pan fish, offering fun with those with boats. The marina within walking distance sells bait and rents paddle boats. For a night of nostalgia nearby Newton offers Valle Drive-In - we were there during a model A car club visit. Back at the campground, we enjoyed a nice evening fire in the provided fire-pit. I'd like more trees in the campground, but appreciate the lakefront campground. We will visit again.

Trees and plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy the weekend. Named after the geodes with their crystalline interiors which can be found in river banks and creek beds. Removing geodes from the park is not allowed, but nearby land owners may sell you some from their privately owned land. The park is just 20 minutes from Burlington which is a nice place to visit the Mississippi River and summertime farmer's and, flea markets. The campground hosts were super accommodating. Gravel sites. We will come back again.

Great place to stay overnight. Pay at the RV park office at the hotel for your choice of location. While the sites are narrow, in our 6 visits we've never parked next to another RV - making the spacing twice as wide. No frills. Just a bit of grass to sit outside, or use the occasional picnic table. As always we check a site's electricity, good idea as one site wasn't working. All pull through sites, very easy for the overnight stay. Our gravel was well groomed, and almost level. We don't mined this normal Interstate road noise for overnight stops - we cover with a fan or air conditioner $24 per night for water and electricity only which is what we needed. The Dairy Queen within walking distance is a bonus. We will stay again.

Call before you plan to come here. This year the campground a full month before their website calendar closing date. ARG! Late in the evening and counting on the campground to be open, so we spent over an hour to find another open campground. Not happy.

We would stay here again - on any clam-bake night! 5504 Colorado Avenue, Sheffield Lake, OH. Watch for the lighted sign at the entrance road. Most of the RVs are permanent. Site is not well kept - dirty. The entire campground needs to be raked for garbage. The clambake was amazingly tasty. We would go back just for the clambake. Nothing about the campground is updated. It is an easy 45 minute drive to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Not a resort. Most people would turn around and not stay the night. Dirty.

Very nice host - working from his home he was happy to show us to our site when we pulled in to camp at about 8 PM. This is an older camp, with a newer owner who is working to spruce up the campground with his wife and son. This is not resort camping. We enjoyed the mature trees and the campground was very quiet, as most of the campers are permanent with residents not staying in their trailers. I think only one other RV was stopping in for the night. The area has been hard-hit by the economy, so visitors are appreciated.

Busy weekend with everyone out enjoying the great weather. We were surprised to have no electric-only openings at this Polk County Park. We enjoyed our waterfront view in the "primitive" area without water, nor electricity. Watching the pelican migration (yes really!) was a very nice bonus. Horses on the trails were fun to watch, and on a previous visit we'd booked a trail ride at the Jester Park Equestrian Center. Primitive area has a marvelous view of the stars. I'd hope that someday a dog park will be added to the park.

Really nice hosts!!! The smiled and welcomed us to the campground. When we asked about propane filling, the reply was filling is available for another 15 minutes tonight. Then after parking another camper, he returned to pick up us and the propane tank! It was so nice to have a golf-cart ride back up the very steep hill with our heavy full-propane-tank! Very steep hill down to the dog park may be troublesome for some, but we had no difficulty. The smallish off-leash was nicely mowed and very clean. Road noise is to be expected from the location close to both interstates. Watch for the KOA signs, as our Google Map wanted us to stop too early. The turn-off is not at the top of the hill - keep going down and watch for the KOA sign to the left. We will return when passing through the area.

So clean! Manicured entrance was impressive, and the roomy sites did not disappoint. While some sites have small trees, all sites were separated by brushy areas that provided nice privacy. The parking sites and roads were level and great for walking. No alcohol policy, and neighbors were wonderful families our our loop.

No out of season activities and both pools were closed. $59 for a night near Niagara Falls is to be expected, I guess. The next-door amusement park would be convenient for kids. Sites closest to the office are closest to the amusement park and sites back-to-back with windows a foot apart. We was glad to have no one near us during this end of season. We will stay again.

We came because a good friend invited us to a friend's rally. We will be back to stay at the lovely campground on the Missouri River! We were delighted to stay one row from the river with a nice view of the fun activities. Clean campsites, and shaded sites further from the river will keep us coming back. The nice aquatic center adjoining the camp is new and a nice opportunity for fun!

I think this may be a nice park after the lake is dredged and filled again. There is a note upon registration to conserve energy to help the state parks' budgets. The campground roads need to be graded to fill ruts caused by the extreme amount of rain in 2010. We might try the campground again later.

When we pulled into the park on Sunday afternoon, we thought the campground was full with all the cars and boat trailers and people. The campground beyond the day-parking area had numerous open sites. Shortly after setting up camp the day users left the beach and all was peaceful! Watching the barges from our site right on the beach was interesting as night fell. The concert pads, and wide sites were a pleasant surprise. Scott County Parks have created a wonderful place to camp and we will be back!
